I'm rewatching a bunch of old The Magnus Archives episodes and so many comments are asking "Man why does The Flesh seem to gravitate towards christian/catholic imagery so much?" Like hm... The Flesh? The primordial fear of being eaten? The deep existential fear that we're all just bundles of meat no different from any other creature? Perhaps it may have something to do with that whole Cannibalization of the Divine vibe Christianity has going on, that whole "partake of my flesh and blood" thing taken to an extreme, as The Fears are known to do. Perhaps it's The Flesh's way of saying that the flesh of man and god are not as different as we'd believe.
Meat is meat, after all.

Hot Take: you should start accumulating extra birthdays like you acquire names.
This is hilarious because I actually kind of already do. I don't, like, have get-togethers for them, but there are a couple of middle school self-insert OCs who I'd had facwbook pages for and my friend who did the same thing and I would like, wish each other happy birthday on the facebook pages. (I cant show you, theyre not active now)
I also have a pretty bad memory for birthdays, but I didnt wanna miss friends bdays, so as a result any time I learn someone i know in person's birthday i mark the date on my phone calender the moment I hear it. Started doing that around the time i had these OCs so those are all in there too, and it notifies me every year, and every year i see it and cheerfully think "oh hey! Happy birthday :) :) " except it's not really TO anyone so it's just kind of a little moment of thinking "happy birthday" to myself, every year, on a day that is not my actual birthday
I don't exactly consider them My Birthday but on a sliding scale of how much any given day feels like my birthday, it's closer to the My Birthday end than the Not My Birthday end, and they are associated with names that are closer to the My Name than the Not My Name end of the sliding scale of how much a name is My Name

Y'ALL
I'm so excited holy crap, this is so cool! The black thing is a display stand, but it can't sit on it just yet as it's in 7 different pieces, I need to sand, paint, and then glue it all together, which I'm going to take my time with cause I've never done it before, but aaaahhhhh!!!!!!

Someone in the complaints department, presumably: I just got an email from a customer who ripped their package open and recreated the conception of Perseus in their kitchen. Now they’re complaining because ‘gold’s heavy it shouldn’t have done that.’

Poseidon Mariner Scales (海闘士スケイル) appreciation post in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Saint Seiya anime back in 1989. While not the best arc of the series, it had beautiful backgrounds and a nice seapunk color palette. The battles were underwhelming, though. Compared to the Asgard God Warriors, the Mariners felt underpowered. Only Kraken Isaak and Sea Dragon Kanon had interesting backstories, the rest were mediocre at best. My favorite character was Mermaid Thetis and her relationship with Poseidon/Julian Solo, as it mimics the tale of The Little Mermaid in a way.
Here are some scans of the figure boxes by Bandai, 1988-89.

The Kaze to Ki no Uta books I got are in the bunkobon format which means they’re smaller than the more common tankobon books are. Since I tried to look for comparison shots online before buying them but had a hard time finding any I’m posting this for future reference for anyone who might need it.
On the left we have the most common size for English manga releases, in the middle we have a Japanese tankobon manga and to the right there’s the bunko book. Although it’s smaller I don’t find it too small. The paper quality’s better than in the tankobon (white and shiny, less risk for yellowing), but that also makes it weigh more (more expensive shipping costs). The bunko books are slightly more expensive, but they also contain about 2 tankobon volumes worth of content so eventually the cost will even out.

Another kit I build probably two years ago, the Real Grade 1/144 scale Build Strike Full Package and I honestly think that this is the best kit version of the Build Strike Full Package.
