World SBK Phillip Island - Race 2

And on Sunday the 24th of February, the lights went out for race 2.

It was immediately a spectacle, the rider with number 52 was in trouble. Little later Alessandro Delbianco crashed out in the first corner. Rea’s bike wasn’t doing what he wanted, bucking during the start. Yet Van der Mark had a good start from p5. More in the back, Rinaldi got passed by Melandri and Sykes had a very bad start, getting passed by Cortese and Mercado.

Bautista was literally unstoppable, making a gap the moment the lights went out and he started from pole.

Haslam tries to get away from his teammate, but Rea keeps up.

Melandri went on the inside by Van der Mark, taking over p5 from the Dutchman.

Davies is now in the top 10, fighting for p8 with Laverty.

With only 3 laps behind him, Troy Herfoss stopped in the pits, only to be out of the race 2 laps later...

It’s not going well for Tom Sykes, he’s at the end of the points. Though he did have a bit of a fight with Camier, Mercado and Laverty for a couple of positions.

The Yamaha’s of VdM and Mel are closing up the gap to the Kawasaki boys up front, though VdM struggled more than Melandri did to get closer. With only 12 laps to go, the Italian Yamaha rider fully closed the gap.

A little bit further back, Davies, Razgatlioglu and Cortese were fighting for 7th position. Another beautiful fight unfolded between the two Kawasaki’s, both Rea and Haslam passing each other through different corners on track (still 8 laps to go!)

Sadly for Sykes, Phillip Island isn’t the place he’ll score many points this 2nd race... p14 is apparently one of the best places that BMW is going to get.

Van der Mark finds closure to the other Yamaha and the Kawasaki’s, his teammate Lowes a bit further behind and a couple of tenth’s slower than the head group. At that same time, Rea retook second place.

By that time, the gap to Alvaro Bautista was 15.5 seconds.

Rinaldi went into the pitlane, but decided to get back on track as fast as he could. Still he was one round behind the top. He’s gotta let them through.

The four riders up front put up another great battle, VdM taking over 4th before Melandri decided to retake it a few corners later and Haslam overtaking Rea again.

Gap to Bautista: over 17 seconds. With only 3 more laps to go.

Also, Razgatlioglu stopped. No idea why. He most likely had some trouble with his bike.

As they went into the last round, Rea retook 2nd place from his teammate, keeping that until the finish flag. In that same round, VdM took over 4th place for the last time, also keeping that position until the end.

Bautista, of course, won again. Rea was 2nd, Haslam 3rd, Van der Mark 4th, Melandri 5th and Lowes 6th.

ホンダ、2019年の2輪世界選手権体制を発表。モリワキと清成龍一がSBKに参戦 ホンダは11月7日、イタリアのミラノで開催されているEICMA2018（ミラノショー）で2019年シーズンの2輪モータースポーツ世界選手権参戦体制の発表を行なった。 ロードレース世界選手権MotoGPでは、MotoGPクラスのワークスチーム、レプソル・ホンダチームより、マルク・マルケスとホルヘ・ロレンソが参戦。サテライトチームは、LCRホンダの1チームとなり、LCR・ホンダ・カストロールからカル・クラッチロー、LCRホンダ・イデミツから中上貴晶のふたりが参戦する。 Moto3クラスにはワークスマシンのNSF250RWを7チーム14名のライダーに供給。日本人ライダーでは、鈴木竜生（SIC58 スクアドラ・コルセ）、佐々木歩夢（ペトロナス・スプリンタ・レーシン���）、鳥羽海渡（ホンダ・チーム・アジア）、小椋藍（ホンダ・チーム・アジア）の4名が参戦する。 そして、スーパーバイク世界選手権（SBK）には、モリワキエンジニアリングとアルテア・レーシングが運営する新たなチームをHRCがサポートする体制で参戦。ライダーには、レオン・キャミアと清成龍一を起用することが発表された。 SBK参戦が決まった清成は全日本ロードレース選手権のJSB1000クラスにKYB MORIWAKI MOTUL RACINGから参戦。11月4日に行われたレース2では複雑な路面コンディションを制して11年ぶりに勝利を挙げた。SBKには2008年から2シーズン戦った経験を持つ。 世界耐久選手権（EWC）には、2017-2018シーズンのチャンピオンチームであるF.C.C. Motul named Blancpain GT Series Asia’s Official Lubricant Partner

SRO Motorsports Group is delighted to announce performance oil specialist Motul as the Official Lubricant Partner of Blancpain GT Series Asia, which kicks off its inaugural season at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia this weekend (April 8/9).

Motorsport has been the globally-renowned French company’s primary proving ground since the 1950s. Its 300V Motorsport Line engine oil, lubricant and maintenance products are already trusted by drivers, teams and manufacturers competing around the world in a diverse range of categories such as Blancpain GT Series, MotoGP, World SBK, Super GT and the Le Mans 24 Hours.

The company is also title sponsor of SRO’s Intercontinental GT Challenge season finale, the Motul Sepang 12 Hours. And that successful alliance has now led to Motul becoming Official Lubricant Partner of the region’s first pan-continental GT3 and GT4 championship.

Indeed, a bumper entry list featuring the likes of Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche will be at Sepang this weekend for the first of six events staged in Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and China throughout 2017.

All Blancpain GT Series Asia cars and driver overalls will feature prominent Motul branding, while a number of teams will also rely on Motul’s products.
