I've been trying to figure out how to word some reflections on the last year, and how things are going. I guess I'll start with talk about production:
I don't like how I've been handling orders until now. Taking orders on a preorder basis and putting them into a backlog works, but I wasn't executing that idea that well. I had set up some calculations based on numbers that turned out to be wrong, and had other unexpected setbacks that have dragged things out a couple months longer than they should have been. I ended up spraining my ankle pretty badly near the end of the year, which put me out of all work for roughly six weeks, and then right as I got out of that, I caught covid (at a grocery store of all places), which put me out for another week. Then, I had to put much of my resin workstation toward producing christmas gifts for family, which took another week out. That could have been avoided, perhaps… but I did want to give my folks something handmade this year.
I have been rethinking my methods – to focus primarily on production so that I can deliver orders more faster and more frequently. New calculations of work time based on more accurate numbers look promising, and I am starting to put them into practice. The focus will be to have items ready before or close to their sale dates, so that all of the different factors that longer time periods introduce can be avoided.
For those of you with backlogged orders, I will be delivering them all within the first three to four months of this year. I’m not going to release another “shipping schedule” chart because I don’t want to find myself breezing past deadlines again, and possibly disappointing people that way. I’m very grateful that you all have been so patient with me. I’m closing in on being able to ship out the first of the five backlogged order batches, and anticipate fully achieving that by the end of this month. Because several customers have orders in multiple batches, and I am doing my best to combine them all, there’s a bit of a cumulative effect. Things are slower at first, as I’m not only handling the first batch, but also certain people’s orders across other batches. This picks away at the further batches that need to ship, so things may get faster as I approach the final backlogged batch. Now that I’m able-bodied and no longer sick with corona, there shouldn’t be any crazy setbacks to the backlog fulfillment process.
I don’t have much else to say here, so thank you for taking a moment of your time to read my thoughts this year. Best wishes to you and yours,
Socketball

With 2025 just beginning, here are some of my favourite art projects I made in 2024 ✨️✨️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My art-style improved by leaps and bounds in 2024, and this is only a small fraction of all the characters I designed and made art for. I even started dabbling in animation, but I've got so much more to learn for that still ✨️
Most of these are my OCs or variants of my sona, but I am still immensely proud of the Stormbringer Cookie fanart I made and wanted to include her here :3

The U.S. Border Patrol turned 100 years old on May 28. Its troubled origins and history form the backdrop for contemporary concerns about the agency, including impunity for abuses against migrants and citizens alike. The Border Patrol’s centennial provides an opportunity to shed light on the agency’s lack of accountability and to pursue a vision for border communities that is grounded in dignity and human rights.
The Border Patrol was founded in 1924, as part of the same restrictive immigration legislation enacted widespread national origin quotas for the first time. That law, the Johnson-Reed Act, excluded immigrants from Asian countries almost entirely and limited the number of new immigrants to the populations that were present in the United States at the time of the 1890 census—a tactic to exclude Eastern and Southern European immigrants, grounded in deep anti-Semitism. While the law did not directly restrict immigration from the Western Hemisphere, it included funding for the Border Patrol to control the movement of Mexicans into the United States while accommodating West Texas ranchers’ need for labor.
The U.S. government’s first attempt at federal border control followed the Chinese Exclusion Act. The Mounted Guard of Chinese Inspectors patrolled the northern and southern borders to apprehend any unauthorized Chinese immigrants from entering the United States.
But the Border Patrol’s roots can be traced back further, to the Texas Rangers—the law enforcement agency that perpetuated racist and xenophobic violence to keep enslaved Black people from leaving and to exclude Mexican and indigenous people from entering the country. Many of the earliest Border Patrol agents were former Rangers and the culture of racialized policing of the border remained. Southern Border Communities Coalition (SBCC) has documented the history of Border Patrol’s abuses in the borderlands, including its integral role in “Operation Wetback,” where it engaged in military style raids to violently deport over 1 million workers, including U.S. citizens, to Mexico.

Alliance put out an analysis of the January 20th executive orders and most of them seem to be meant to sow fear. Many have been shot down before and are unlikely to succeed this time around. Full analysis copy and pasted below the readmore.
On January 20, 2025, President Trump rescinded close to 70 orders signed by Biden, and then signed a series of new executive orders. Alliance San Diego has reviewed the potential impact of the orders relating to immigration and border enforcement and is sharing our analysis with the larger justice community to inform conversations. Here is our assessment of 15 actions that the administration plans to attempt but may be impeded by legal, financial and practical constraints.
1. Declare a national emergency at the southern border in order to draw funds from the Armed Forces for wall construction, transport of immigrants, and detention space.
Analysis: Trump tried this in his first administration and was sued by Southern Border Communities Coalition (SBCC), Sierra Club and ACLU, and the courts stopped him. Without extra funding from Congress, resources drawn from the Armed Forces could affect military operations.
2. Declare an “invasion” at the southern border to suspend entry for anyone who engaged in an invasion or who cannot provide “sufficient” medical information, reliable criminal history or background information.
Analysis: While this could lead to a widespread shutdown of the border, that is unlikely for economic reasons, but everyday commuters across the border could face increased scrutiny and harassment.
3. Assign the military the mission to “seal” the border and repel mass migration events.
Analysis: We are waiting to see what the plan looks like. The order calls for the military to come up with a plan within 10 days. It is unclear how the military will respond given their competing priorities and no new resources.
4. End birthright citizenship on February 20, 2025 for the children of women unlawfully present as well as the children of women present lawfully but temporarily (such as on a visa) if the father is not a US citizen or permanent legal resident.
Analysis: ACLU has already sued to challenge the order as a violation of the US Constitution.
5. Re-enforce registration requirements under 8 USC 1302 for undocumented immigrants to register, and prioritize enforcement of unregistered immigrants.
Analysis: This requirement has always existed, but is rarely enforced due to capacity constraints. Until and unless Congress appropriates more money for enforcement, there will be no additional capacity. That said, Trump’s focus on this may increase fear and anxiety.
6. Expansion of expedited removal from border communities to the whole country, rendering unlawful immigrants here less than 2 years deportable without due process.
Analysis: Expedited removal has existed as part of federal immigration law for years, but was limited in enforcement to the border region (100 miles from the border) under the Biden Administration. This action expands expedited removal to the entire country, as it was previously applied under the first Trump administration.
7. Impose mandatory detention of individuals in deportation proceedings.
Analysis: Without additional resources, detention capacity is limited to current levels, making the implementation of this action impractical. The average daily rate for detention is between $250 to $500 per person.
8. Withhold funds from “sanctuary” jurisdictions that interfere with federal immigration enforcement.
Analysis: Trump attempted this during his first term and was defeated in court. Additionally, CA and other elected leaders have made clear that they are not going to interfere or assist with federal immigration enforcement.
9. Require employment verification under existing law at 8 USC 1324a.
Analysis: This is not a change in law, but represents a focus of the Trump administration. As with other proposed actions, there is insufficient funding to enforce employment verification. If it was enforced, it would be devastating to the economy and would lead to mass poverty of workers, citizens and immigrants, affected by a lack or loss of documents such as disaster survivors.
10. Terminate categorical parole (temporary permissions) like for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans; paroles will still be available on a case-by-case basis.
Analysis: It is unclear what will happen when parole expires for individuals who are currently on the program here in the US and working lawfully. We need additional details to be able to determine the full impact of this action.
11. Suspend the refugee program effective January 27, 2025.
Analysis: Each year, the President determines whether and how many refugees to admit into the country. Trump slashed refugee admissions to historic lows during his first term, and this a continuation of his previous position that harmed refugee families.
12. Impose additional vetting of visa applicants and possibly suspend visas for certain countries starting on February 20, 2025.
Analysis: This occurred in the first Trump administration and was used to discriminate. It is too soon to know how this will be implemented this round.
13. Reinstitute the Remain In Mexico program (Migrant Protection Protocol) that requires people to wait outside of the country to seek asylum. The order ceases usage of the CBP One app that facilitated asylum applications.
Analysis: If the Trump administration succeeds in implementing all the previously stated actions, there will be no asylum seekers coming into the country to then be placed in this program.
14. Review and potentially audit NGOs assisting undocumented immigrants.
Analysis: Most NGOs receiving federal funding to assist immigrants are already under strict reporting guidelines. This is unlikely to have any impact.
15. Denial of public benefits for undocumented immigrants.
Analysis: Most undocumented immigrants are not eligible for federal public benefits, so this is unlikely to result in the loss of any benefits. Nevertheless, it is likely to create fear and discourage eligible families from applying for benefits.
As we see a barrage of evil executive orders come in, they are not immediately enforceable and will takes months or years to implement.
That’s still not great, but don’t let these pile up to the point of hopelessness. Take a breath, and look community leaders who will fight it every step of the way.

The teams of the Population Welfare Department Punjab go to all the rural, remote communities, and tribal areas across the province and encourage the people to be responsible, ensure the welfare of the family, adopt family planning methods, have a balanced family, and accountable parenting, use contraceptives, care, and much-needed precautions. The SBCC strategy has been successfully implemented and has yielded positive results. The overall success and collaboration of all partners, supporters, practitioners, and experts is the result and will continue to be so.
