but.. (major story spoilers for the SAYER podcast from here on out so if you haven't already PLEASE GO WAtCH IT I'M BEGGING YOU!!!!!)

...I love emotional machines the most at the moment. For instance; I will always cry when SPEAKER confronts the idea of their own mortality at the hands of SAYER and the Ærolith Dynamics Board to preserve humanity.

And the sadistic games that FUTURE likes to play with the poor, poor employees of Ærolith that stumble onto Floor Thirteen.

Especially the AI Development Team.. or whatever is left of it.

And even OCEAN, who I won't get too much into due to like, end of podcast spoilers, is more detached and dismissive of humanity due to the deactivation of the IA3 Protocol. (And general distaste for humanity due to their lingering desire to remain with Earth instead of spreading across the stars under tbe firm guide of Ærolith.)

In conclusion: go watch SAYER. It's very good. I like emotional machines, and I hope you liked my little funky thoughts and ideas!!

The Name’s Lewis. Henry Lewis.

Otherwise known as the time Henry Lewis (played by Harry Kershaw) and Harry Kershaw (played by Henry Lewis) were spies with a mission to kill Henry Lewis’ (played by Harry Kershaw) ex-wife - the daughter of Henry Shields (played by Nancy Zamit).

Except Harry Kershaw (played by Henry Lewis) double crossed Henry Lewis (played by Harry Kershaw) and used body swap technology to know look like Henry Lewis.

So there’s Harry Kershaw (previously played by Henry Lewis, now post body swap played by Harry Kershaw because he’s been changed to look like Henry Lewis - which means he looks like real life Harry Kershaw) and Henry Lewis (previously played by Harry Kershaw, now played by Henry Lewis because his ex wife used the technology to make him look like Harry Kershaw - real life Henry Lewis) and we’re nearly getting somewhere.

And then Harry Kershaw (played by Harry Kershaw but looking like Henry Lewis) is actually a triple agent and shoots and re-kidnaps Henry Lewis (played by Henry Lewis because he still looks like Harry Kershaw).

They bodyswap back into their original bodies so we have Henry Lewis (played by Harry Kershaw once again) and Harry Kershaw (played by Henry Lewis) - and you think that’s the end of it, there are thirty seconds left in the show.

Harry Kershaw (played by Henry Lewis, then Harry Kershaw, then Henry Lewis again) rips off his own skin to reveal that after all this time, he was actually - Jonathan Sayer.

I have extensive notes from Peter Pan Goes Wrong yesterday night, but here’s one of my favorites.

Jonathan Sayer said Dennis thinks he needs to wait in line with everyone else to get into the show. So every night he goes and waits in line to get into the theater. He said that production has told him that he doesn’t need to do it but he does it every night anyways. He also said that sometimes it genuinely takes him a long time to get into the theater

Fucking

DRESDEN FILES.

Specifically book 7, Dead Beat.

Urban Fantasy. Has a zombie t rex in one. Snarky investigative protagonist (TRT inspo hello). Lorge dog. Pop culture references. All the titles are PUNS. Cool mythology. MAGIC. BADASS LONG COATS. Is the first book really rough? Yes. Very. But damn I stuck with it and the series took off. I literally have an autographed copy that I got Jim Butcher to sign with, 'Harry loves you'.

SECOND.

Lord of the Rings my beloved.

I do not need to describe it. It is perfection. I have reread it every year since I was 11. GENIUS.

THIRD.

Currently? Dueling for third is Dante's Inferno and Pride and Prejudice since I read them both again in the past year. P&P is my favorite slow burn out there, THE DEFINITION OF SLOW BURN ENEMIES TO LOVERS, and the CHEMISTRY but also social context? The BANTER??? While Dante's Inferno is, in my mind, the most hilarious, gorgeously written, petty bit of self-insert published AU fanfiction ever created. Dude straight up went 'in my AU hell is an onion and the dead philosophers and poets I idolize love me and the Popes I hated are there ha ha get FUCKED, and also my poetry for it will be so gorgeous it becomes a classic and you'll almost miss that I snuck a fart joke in right here' (yes there is a fart joke - a demon signals to his lil army to move on by, roughly translated, 'making a trumpet of his ass') and I love him for that.

Point being Dante is up there so having a story where I can weave references in is AMAZING

For clarity, I have heard up to exactly halfway through episode 11 (bailed) (pound of flesh episode) and know nothing else apart from the general idea that there'll be other ai at some point. I'm postponing keeping going until after my upcoming tooth surgery for hopefully obvious reasons lmao

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Do I have any known knowns? Canon is giving me way more questions than answers it feels like. I do like how Sayer has to (very accurately) presume what The Resident is thinking from biometrics, like he can't physically see you but it's almost a worse invasive thing because you can't communicate back, and ultimately there is only compliance or noncompience, no back n forth

ok post cancelled I opened the transcript to look up what the resident guy's name is and I think I skipped episodes 5 to 7. I thought I was made numerical progress weirdly fast. For some reason I went straight from anaphylactic bee allergy injection to congratulation you've been promoted and I can tell you your name and history on the sly etc. this is what happens when you dont have a proper playback system and vague episode descriptions and also fainted at some point
