since the final of melodifestivalen 2018 is tomorrow, here’s my thoughts of the finalists and how I predict them to do tomorrow!

1. Mendez: a big favorite here in Sweden and one of my personal favorites of this years contest. He’s gonna be a televote favorite but we all damn know hes gonna flop with the juries. Predicted place: 10

2. Renaida: I kinda like here but I hate her song. I love the fact that she is the first black woman in ages in a final, but why she be shouting so much tho? My head hurts everytime she is singing. Same as Mendez but she's is gonna come dead last. Predicted place: 12

3. Martin Almgren: Meh. Predicted place: 11

4. John Lundvik: I love “My turn” and this would’ve probably won Eurovision! In 2008. So glad for him tho to finally have his chance. Predicted place: 6

5. Jessica Andersson: I thought her songs were gonna be like her recent melfest entries= sucky songs. But she surprised me. A good song and would probably be my favorite if I was a 40 year old white woman, whom also are the only people to vote for her tomorrow. Predicted place: 8

6. Liamoo: One of the better voices and songs in this competition. I love rap and even though this was a bland version of this genre, it’s still a very good song and one of my favorites. Would've won if Ingrosso or Sandman weren’t competing this year. Predicted place: 3

7. Samir&Viktor: Hell yes. “Shuffle” is my favorite song from them (after saxofuckingfon) and first time straight to final! The, by a far, bests Swedish song in recent melfest. Why cant we send them to Lisbon????? Predicted place: 4

8. Mariette: Christer Björkman played us all by placing Marietta in the final spot in the last semifinal, making us all think she was gonna be the best song in this contest and giving us our 7th win in Eurovision. Y’all, I was so disappointed. Trash song with a trash choreography. I hope she flops. Predicted place: 5

9. Felix Sandman: My first thought when he was announced solo was “damn he gon flop”. when I heard his song two weeks ago, my first thought was “damn he gon win”. His song is one of the best this year and even though his singing isn’t excellent, his emotions during his song competes that and makes him perform “Every single day” perfect. Remember Frans? Trash song with a trash voice? He came 5th in Eurovision on home soil. Imagine Felix? Predicted place: 2 (maybe 1)

10. Margaret: “Havana oh na na” I will seriously go ape in my cabana if this shit wins. It did grow on me a tiny bit )just a little) during andra chansen but still trash. Predicted place: 7

11. Benjamin Ingrosso: Excellent song. Predicted place: 1 (maybe 2)

12. Rolandz: Fuck them. I hope they flop but knowing this trash country, they probably won't. Predicted place: 9

I’m still kinda torn between Benjamin or Felix. Nonetheless, they will both represent us excellent (we wont win Eurovision though)

After all of the songs have performed, the voting period will begin, starting with the international jury and finishing with the televote. After the voting period is done, the points from the International Jury and the Televote will be calculated and announced in order from least to most. The results will be revealed at the same time.

MACHINE GUN KELLY, YUNGBLUD & TRAVIS BARKER - I THINK I'M OKAY

Elisabeth Sanders: For the love of god someone please tell me why we as a culture are letting these adult men take us through another "xXx iM pSyChO XD xXx" phase. Are teens with depression just the same no matter the year or is something dark and regressive dredging 2003 back up into the light? [1]

Ian Mathers: Just like Simple Plan's "Welcome to My Life", I'm still sure some kids out there will find this some sort of help and comfort, and I'm genuinely happy (and giving this a single point) for them. But taking out the only good thing from the last time (sigh) YUNGBLUD and the again practically invisible Barker collaborated and substituting Machine Gun Kelly summoning up the ghosts of Hot Topics past with "I hurt myself sometimes, is that too scary for you?" sent my ears right to hell. [1]

Joshua Minsoo Kim: These 2000s emo revival hits are really just a matter of matching the right artists with each other. Compared to the miserable Ellie Goulding & Juice WRLD single, "I Think I'm OKAY" is masterfully coherent. Most of this comes from Machine Gun Kelly's neutered performance, ensuring that his typically "hard-edged" rapping isn't manifested in awkward flows, but a defensive "I suck, my life sucks--you got a problem with that?" attitude. He finds a good foil in the more expressive and romantic YUNGBLUD, whose mix of singing and shouting is a dead ringer for The Used's Bert McCracken. Together, they represent two sides of the same person: someone who hopes romance will be a panacea, yet doesn't think they're deserving of happiness. This idea is fully realized in the song's most crushing line: "I hurt myself sometimes/Is that too scary for you?" [6]

Tim de Reuse: As catchy as the syncopation of the chorus is, it just isn't convincing against this swell-obsessed arrangement. If you're gonna have a party celebrating self-deprecation, then give me some good Billie Joe Armstrong pop-punk teenage angst, none of this overdesigned stadium rock fluff! [4]

Iain Mew: I am all for the kind of thinking that gives us a vaguely hip-hop song that sees "Welcome to the Black Parade" emo and EDM-via-"I Gotta Feeling" as equivalent sources to draw on and patch together. Novelty is nothing to be scared of. I just wish the results had a bit more welly, because the beat especially is feeble. If everyone involved had followed YUNGBLUD's lead and gone full "Saxofuckingfon" it could have been a minor classic. [5]

Will Adams: MGK plays Mark Hoppus to YUNGBLUD's Tom DeLonge, and only one succeeds. But succeed YUNGBLUD does; the reward for sitting through the Joker-level edginess of the first verse is the song becoming a convincing slice of modern pop-punk. By the time the half-time outro hits, I'm sold by the histrionics. [6]

Kylo Nocom: Yungblud's gross aestheticization of mental illness and corny songwriting has always killed any interest I could've had in his music. How funny is it, then, that it takes the whiny-yet-monotonous singing of Machine Gun Kelly to get me to warm up to him as a performer? Contrasts are so powerful! Even my bias aside, he sounds great here, evoking all of the pop punk bands my sister used to play for me when she was in high school. By the cathartic finish of "I Think I'm OKAY", I've ascended into Myspace heaven and I've forgotten the slog of the alt-pop intro. [6]

제가 네덜란드에서 차 타고 독일갈때 라디오에서 흘러나오던 노래에요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

프랑스에서는 자라 라슨 노래가 흘러나왔는데 네덜란드에서는 에릭 사아데였어요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

사실 네덜란드에서 가장 많이 들은 곡은 ‘뜨또’ 저스틴 비버의 ‘let me love you’ 에요 🙂

뻥 아니고 100번 들은 것 같음ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

그래도 갠적으로 뜨또 노래 중에서는 sorry가 가장 좋은 것 같아요!!

역시 음악적으로는 절대 실망시키지 않는군요 ㅎㅎㅎㅎ

Alfred Soto: Obfuckingnoxious. [2]

Maxwell Cavaseno: This might be the ugliest song name in 2015, and the minute that breakdown came in my thought process was "Of course these are Swedes." I'm not sure if any of these are worse than the fake hoedown elements in the verse structures but LORD KNOWS it's a close race. [1]

Iain Mew: This could almost pass as a DJ Earworm track if he grouped by virality instead of chronologically. Samir & Victor don't quite quote their inspirations, though, just make them really obvious, from "Loca People" to "Gangnam Style" to, duh, "Mr. Saxobeat" and its many followers. Their biggest single inspiration is realising that novelty hit classification be damned, Avicii and "Tsunami" fit into that company perfectly, but it's a smart assembly all round. They keep it constantly on the move, wringing out one hook and moving onto another, a rollercoaster with dull bits removed. [7]

Patrick St. Michel: I was promised saxofukingfon, but all I hear are a few conservative dollops and some imitation EDM blurts. I don't take kindly to lies about saxophone. [1]

Thomas Inskeep: The saxo-fucking-phone doesn't come in until 2:30, but this Swedish dance-pop is still a smart state-of-the-fucking-art summer Euro-anthem. And when the sax does comes in, it's a fucking payoff. Dumb and brilliant. [6]

Will Adams: What kind of cobbled mess is this? Owl City verses, Pitbull/RedOne breakdown, "Albatraoz" drop and pan drippings from "We No Speak Americano," all of it overblown and annoying. [2]

David Sheffieck: For a creation so manic, this improbably manages to drag; I was sure by the end I'd listened to a track twice its actual length. But that first minute and a half make a great three minute novelty song. [5]

Ramzi Awn: "Saxofuckingfon" would sound great at a 4k run in Central Park. With an MC. Screaming runners' names. And that's about it. [3]

Scott Mildenhall: Eurovision may be less forgiving of effing and jeffing than Swedish radio, but were that not an issue Samir & Viktor may have been wise to submit this over "Groupie" for their country's contest selection. It would have at least been more forgiving of their alleged vocals, and Epic Sax Guy is undoubtedly a precedent to follow. Combining that with Garrixian pummels is high concept worthy of a high score. [7]

Brad Shoup: That bgv hook is so gorgeous. It's unfair enough, and then they bring out the actual fucking fon. That EDM shanty lurch is one hit, and the dance-pop rapapa part is another, and I'm very glad several people decided not to develop either. [9]
