I love watching encanto reactions especially the ones who constantly comment on the performance and characters. Saw a reaction recently where this guy kept mentioning “such a great performance” and he’s right the voice acting is so good in this movie I feel like I don’t praise it enough. Nobody had a bad performance even those townspeople with like 2 lines were super memorable!

Just Watched Encanto
I managed to convince my mother to buy the movie and we got to watch Encanto as a family. I enjoyed to movie a lot and my favorite character is Mirabel. I loved that it was able to take the themes of generational trauma and family. As a Filipino, it was nice to see that some of the plants that I have around my house is also in Encanto.
My parents reactions varied. Since we were not in the theaters, we had a loud setting so it was not the full experience. My father was mostly like:
“So Agustin is Mirabel`s father?” “Huh, triplets???” “Wait, who is that again?”
My mother, in the other hand, was straight up making theories.
“Does it mean that Mirabel has the same gift as her Tito Bruno, like she can see the future too?”
“Oh, so she will be the next head of the house right? She made the door glow again so she is the boss now. Like she is like abuela”
Sometimes she would comment about the aesthetic
“Ooh the tiles are so pretty” “They have nice plants” “Mirabel`s mother has nice eyes, so pretty” (sees Abuelo Pedro in Dos Oruguitas) “Gwapo!”
Her favorite is Pepa.
My siblings enjoyed it and they sing the songs all the time. They love “We Don`t Talk About Bruno”. Bruno was a favorite of my sister and brother. While my twin really liked Mirabel as well.
Some opinions my family had-
- Abuela Alma (twin: she`s abusive to mirabel. Some of them commented that she must be quite strict)
- Abuelo Pedro (handsome young dude)
- Julietta (So pretty eyes. So she can heal???)
- Pepa (My twin finds her relatable. Mama`s favorite character)
- Bruno (A favorite among the children. My mother comments on him a lot during the movie with his connection to Mirabel)
- Dolores (We joke that she should have been named Marites instead because she is so chismosa/gossiper. Mama tends to call her “the cousin that likes the guy”)
- Camillo (no much comment)
- Antonio (they commented on how cute he is)
- Isabela (My twin doesn`t like her even if she understands why Isabela acts like that. She is too taray)
- Luisa (My father is not used to seeing buff women in media. So when he saw her, he was like Buff??? Huh.)
- Mirabel (Favorite of my twin and I. Mama likes her. When she sang her song, there was a collective feeling of OUCH because of her situation. They were like “that`s gonna hurt”.)
-Agustin (Papa keeps wondering why he keeps getting in an accident)
- Felix (He is very groovy and charismatic to me)
Meanwhile my grandmother fell asleep...
