Starting out...

How i got into cloth diapering... I didnt know much about it. Main factor that i loved that got me intrigued was the cost savings. (We've only bought 4 boxes of disposables) and my son now is 17 months.

I started out with 20 one size diapers and so many liners (bamboo and microfibre).

Pre solids i found out i did not have to pre wash, i just rinsed and threw them into my wet bag until laundry day. (Which was bi weekly, every two weeks).

Once solids entered my sons digestive, i started using biodegradable liners which catches the poop 99.9% of the time. So i still only had to rinse and store in wet bag until laundry day.

Laundry: i use tide cold water. And at first i would only wash cloth diapers with cloth diapers. In the summer time i hung them out to dry outside. But now i do a kid clothes load with the diapers (and so far no stains on anything) but again i do have a baby items wash cycle i use on my washing machine.

I also heard cloth diapering is suppose to make potty training a smoother transition because they are already feeling when they are wet etc. (My son 17 months is now showing interest in the potty) my potty training tips i use will be another post later on... This is just an intro.

To date i have 51 diapers and 30+ liners and probably only spent $150 - $200 (no greater than $200) on them all. #savyshopper #bargain
