I do want to talk about sharing art online from the perspective of a hobby freelancer but before that I'll just toss this tidbit I mentioned on my main

Reblogs are not numbers. Reblogs are meant to share and pass on artwork that someone may like. NO ONE is forced to reblog anything BUT it is a core of engagement in a space like tumblr. Engagement is what brings in interest after all and it's one piece of what makes it important for freelance artists here.

When you look at the numbers and the notes, we need to stop viewing them and comparing them with likes (me included) or total in general. It doesn't help.

Artists do self rebloging to both show or remind folks they've done some work as well as to nudge people to reblog their stuff. Tags are nice and comments in them are a nice way to engage too but passing on the work, especially to help someone to get noticed, is a good way to just work the site as intended.

It will always be about luck because we can't guess who wants to engage with what online. You also can't blame yourselves for this. Don't use the internet mentality of "content" (eugh!) and "flopping" and go about it that way. People find stuff I drew years back and find ways to engage with it now. It's really about luck.

There are things that can help but I'll go about it in another post.

One more thing. Don't be shy about "shilling". Advertise your open commissions, your patreons or ko-fis. I promise it has nothing to do with how big of an artist you are. Remember that you're doing that within your own zone so "bothering" followers is hardly the case, it's your house. Make a tag for it if it helps your mind. I say as someone with social anxiety.

YAY im so glad you see my vision with system vlad as well. i think Danny is a system, too, but in a way where it's like... Danny over and over, with small differences, like you're standing between two mirrors and see yourself reflected infinitely- which'll make Danny take longer to realize he's a system, but he'll figure it out eventually.

my thought for vlad is that he's probably in denial about being a system, and likely has a somewhat fictive-heavy system full of vampires. im projecting onto him that he also probably has some intra-system romance happening in there, too.

Funny! I headcanon Vlad as having the type of system you described for Danny :,D I'm projecting my own brain onto that old man haha Vlad is just a bunch of smaller Vlads in a trench coat xD Vlad's brain is kind of split between different points in his life, and each aspect is kind of stuck with a few basic traits taken to the extreme... Vlad can't really communicate with his alters, plus he has frequent psychotic episodes, so it's like "Yeah, of course I black out for hours, sometimes months, at a time and hear voices and have arguments with "myself", and have extreme changes in my personality that I only become aware of once I go back through old photos/messages/etc because I genuinely don't remember anything. I'm on antipsychotics for a reason, this is normal." He may be a littel bit stewpid <3 I don't think Vlad even knows he's got some sort of dissociative personality disorder, at most he's able to say he's "a different version of himself sometimes", but he never bothers to examine that further :,) I also think he blames his ghost half for most of it, since his pre-accident memory is pretty messed up, because the accident/hospitalization triggered a pretty intense split in his mind....

jungle adventure build items are SOOO pretty but vacation worlds always feel like such a throwaway... growing together expands on a lot of gameplay stuff (should've been a base game update 🙄) and for rent is apparently STILL BUGGY (big surprise) but the basic function is so nice...
