Everything is going to let you down in some way shape or form. This not a curse, it's the likelihood of life. No human is perfect. Each of us have our own responsibilities in life and our own burdens. Computers too can let us down. Phones can get damaged as well as lost and if you didn't backup data then again your system or devices have let you down. If you have important content on your phone or computers you need to back it up, save it somewhere safe so it's there when you need it. Print things out before they get lost or damaged. Uploading everything to the cloud also isn't secure.  Even online storage like Google Drive or Dropbox aren't 100% safe. There is no format online or off that offers 100% secure backups. Kind of tired of people saying “ohhh ace attorney is NOTHING like American law” or “oh ace attorney has too many Japanese components.” Exactly! Ace attorney was based on an exaggerated version of the JAPANESE law system, not the American one. That’s why prosecutors are meant to be a bit more scarier, or have a presence, because the conviction rate in Japan is COMPLETELY different than the conviction rate in the US. Many people say that Ace Attorney is actually quite similar to Japanese law despite some obvious exaggerations. Furthermore, Shu takumi didn’t even know that ace attorney would become playable in the US. And since he thought it wouldn’t, he decided to freely add more culturally japanese aspects to the game. When capcom told him they’d make a localization for the US, obviously they changed some dialogue, but they weren’t gonna change entire game parts because that would take too long. And they had already established lore for stuff like spirit mediums, so Takumi couldn’t really go back when they started working on JFA.

I read the last few chapters of your Klema fic and just wanted to let you know how much I’ve been loving it. I’m sure you get this all the time but you’re so good at writing and understanding characters. I love the characterization and the development you’ve written so far. Huge fan and can’t wait to see what happens next! You’re very talented but I can tell you take your art and your craft very seriously, which I really respect. I’d love to hear more about how you got into Ace Attorney despite not playing the games if you feel up to sharing!

thank you for your compliment about the craft & characterization as well!!! i love all of these characters so dearly and what drove me to start writing in the first place was just kind of seeing all the potential for more depth and parallels to a point where i was like damn. I Gotta Do This Because It’ll Drive Me Crazy If I Don’t. i know ace attorney is kind of a silly game series by nature but there’s also just so many possibilities in terms of fleshing out themes and dynamics and Very high stakes scenarios that imagining these characters as real people who have to deal with these things is a) very entertaining and b) very freeing as a writer! especially with characters like ema and klavier, whose stories are so obviously complex despite the fact that we only see very brief glimpses into their lives

aa was one of those things that i had been Meaning to get into for a loooong time and never did (i don’t own any game consoles/hardware able to run them but i have always enjoyed watching other people play video games, especially ones focused around narrative storytelling)

around july/august of 2024 @frankierotwinkdeath sent me the prozd & mankey lp and i ended up getting kind of addicted to it. i so Desperately wanted to know what happened in apollo justice that once i had watched all of those videos, i turned to savedata (love those guys, they rule). eventually, i recruited a bunch of my long distance actor friends to play and voice act the first game with me over discord and it has been soooo fun. we’re on 1-4 right now and they love the Drama of it all (even if the mechanics are grating sometimes)

so anyway. i blame cecily for my insanity and im having the time of my life. the fanbase has been so welcoming and kind to me as a relatively new fan who has some very niche content to offer. y’all are the best
