The university of São Paulo (where I study language arts) is on strike again because the korean language course closed down (its the only one of its kind in latin america btw), japanese, chinese and russian are going in the same direction.

It is utterly inadmissible for one of the top 100 universities in the world and the #1 in latin america to struggle like this because of the lack of professors. I hate my country so much! Imagine what we could accomplish if my uni had enough funding!

The Internet and paperless billing DID NOT kill the post office. Congress did it’s best to do that. They didn’t fail in their promises about pensions. Congress did that for them, too. I know some people feel that the USPS isn’t as efficient as UPS or FedEx, but it won’t matter how efficient those companies are when they refuse to deliver to you because you’re living in a place that’s inconvenient for them or that they deem is unprofitable to deliver to (which they already do, but the USPS picks up the slack. Without it, you just wouldn’t get your mail). Anyone who thinks we don’t need the USPS better think again because once it’s gone it’ll be too late to get it back.

Marvel Delivers USPS

The postal service is under attack by Republicans and the Trump Administration. Despite the vital role the USPS serves for seniors, folks with disabilities, veterans, and low-income individuals (among many others), Republicans are attempting to dismantle this service to sabotage mail-in voting and increase profits for private delivery companies. We have to fight back!

The Marvel Delivers USPS event is intended to raise awareness about the importance of the Postal Service and encourage advocacy.

Here’s how it works:

Take a step to support USPS (listed below)

Send proof to marveldeliversusps@gmail.com

Fill out this form to send in a prompt for a fandom and pairing.

One of the writers or artists picks up and writes or creates with a cap of 30 minutes per art/writing which is a maximum of 600/750 words and posts it on Tumblr, AO3, or Twitter. Current fandoms are Marvel, Twilight, SPN, LOTR, The Good Place, and The Witcher.

Ways to support USPS:

Contact your local representatives. 

You can find the address, e-mail or phone number for your elected officials here: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative  and https://www.senate.gov/senators/How_to_correspond_senators.htm

Or: Text "USPS" to 50409, and a letter will be sent to your local reps urging them to support Rep. Maloney's Delivering for America Act, which "prohibits the Postal Service from implementing any changes to the operations or level of service it had in place on January 1, 2020, until the COVID-19 pandemic has ended."

Sign a petition. For folks outside the US, petitions are a good way to show your support for the cause. Here are a few:

Sign the Change.org petition.

Sign the Common Cause petition to "Save the U.S. Postal Service"

Sign the MoveOn petition to "Fully Fund the United States Postal Service"

Buy stamps and other USPS merchandise.

Send a letter via USPS to a family member or a senior in an assisted living pen-pal program.

One of the easiest ways to help support the USPS and generate funds would be buying stamps! These spooky stamps are the ones I chose but there so many to choose from. As a small business owner I rely on USPS and so do soooo many others and this hurts to see happen. Imagine just how much money we could generate by simply buying a book of stamps. This also may encourage me to get a pen pal!

Mail delays

Hi Everyone,

If you have ordered from my shop or are planning to, please note that there have been some changes to our US Postal Service. The Trump administration has appointed a new Postmaster General - Louis DeJoy - who not only has millions of $ invested in the competitor UPS, he has ordered for all USPS mail to be SLOWED DOWN.

What this means is that all your orders (including Priority Mail) are taking longer than usual to be delivered, and USPS tracking is also not reliable right now. Packages that usually take 3 days are taking 7 days. International shipments are taking up to 2 months.

Mailman Steve always has treats for every dog including Bucky's doodle.
