RWBY Pokemon HC Pt.1 JNPOR

Here are my pokemon headcannons involving RWBY characters, since I was picking up Scarlet again after a few months, since the DLC was coming out soon.

All feedback, reposts, blogs, and comments are welcomed.

Jaune Arc: Honedge (Aegislash), Frigibax (Baxcalibur), Shieldon/Bastiodon, and Audino

Honedge he caught because his family prided themselves on sharp blades, but when he was young, he stumbled upon a Frigibax that was also being bullied and saved it. Shieldon though was a family gift, because of the shield and sword. Audino he found in the wild while he was traveling with Ruby and the gang. Ren was the one that suggested he catch it.

All of his pokemon were in their second evolutions, but it wasn't until he was fighting Neo and the gaurds, that Baxcalibur fully evolved when they were protecting Oscar and the relic.

Nora Valkryie: Dedenne, Tinkatink(Tinkaton), Axew(Haxarous), and Mimikiyu

Dedenne was one of her first pokemon when she was all alone, she found it on a late rainy night. Tinkatink she found when she was first learning to use the hammer, and thought that it would the most perfect partner. Axew came along when thought that it was an axe.

Mimikiyu she found when she was in Atlas after the lightening scar indicdent, where her Tinkaton also gained scars from. The Mimikiyu tried to attack her, but after seeing her kindness, decided to stay with her.

Pyrrha Nikos: Golett(Golurk), Skarmory, Blissey, and Falinks

Golett was the first pokemon she ever caught, while Blissey was a pokemon she hatched from an egg she earned as a gift. Skarmory she caught at Beacon, while Falinks was a pokemon that saw her armor and thought she was one of them, and just followed her eveywhere. After she died, her pokemon went to her mother, but when Jaune returned and visited her statue her mother handed over Falinks, believing that was the pokemon he needed the most.

Falinks would be the pokemon that helped him with some of the quiet, and help to ease the grief.

Oscar Pine: Skiddo(Gogoat), Chespin(Chestnaught), Phantump(Treveant), and Swinnub(Mammoswine)

Skiddo was born on the farm and that was the one that Oscar wanted, even though it had a broken horn and the leaves were miscolored. It wouldn't evolve until they fought Hazel, and Ozpin thought to command the creature, but Skiddo rebelled and disobeyed all of Ozpin's orders.

Chespin was a gift from JNR, thinking that he didn't have a pokemon, until they met Skiddo when Osacar was playing with it. Phantump was encountered when Oscar was first traveling to get to Qrow, while he was alone with Ozpin in his head, the ghost tree was just wandering about the woods, and Oscar thought it was cute. It evolves into Treveant when Oscar loses to Ironwood and his falling, it escaped from its ball to help break his fall with the help of Chesnaught.

Swinub was found when Oscar was wandering Mantel, and found the abused creature.

Lie Ren: Shiftry, Honchcrow, Musharna, Chimchar(Inferape)

Ren had a struggle gaining a pokemon, since most distanced themselves from him due to the aura he gave off.

But he stumbled on a seedot, who didn't sense anything wrong with him. Mukrow would follow soon after when Ren steals food from it. Musharna floated after him, sensing that he understood emotions and feelings. Chimchar was found in the snowy Argus night, thinking that the pokemon was a sign of the future.

Chapter 9- Part 3

Anyways, we’ve got vending machines here- I’m guessing it’s the usual trio? Lemonade, Soda Pop, and Fresh Water?

Okay, only part of the trio. Some Fresh Water would be useful right now, we’re getting to the point where Potions can only do so much- maybe I’ll come back here when we have a bit more money.

Now, who’s this kid down here, and can we fight him?

Oooh, a Yes/No option- he must be a tougher Trainer. Fine by me, it’ll be extra exp. points for the party!

Ough, Feebas- yeah, I think Whiskers can take ‘im. First, we put it to sleep…

…which took three tries because Sing kept missing…

But now we can just Double Slap it! Sure, the Feebas ends up waking up, but we still win!

Hmm, Swinub…I think our best answer to that would be Riptide, he can tank any Ground or Ice moves it might know. Plus, he has Water Gun!

Water Gun isn’t powerful enough to one-shot the Swinub, even with STAB, and unfortunately Mud Bomb messes with Riptide’s Accuracy…

Swinub then uses Endure, which would have saved it…but Water Gun ends up missing anyways, so it doesn’t even matter. And indeed, it tries to Endure again, but it fails- and this time, Water Gun hits its mark!

On one hand, I could keep Riptide in, he’s got moves to deal with Drilbur, but I think I want to bring in Whiskers first so she can put it to sleep like the Feebas.

Now, hopefully Sing doesn’t miss a bunch of times again-

Oh, oh dear, it knows Dig-

Well, that’s a problem. No matter- we’ve got Breeze, she’s immune to that sorta thing!

But…can her attacks even do enough damage against this? What can Quick Attack do?

Mmmm…I don’t know if I like that. And it keeps spamming Metal Claw, it might get an Attack boost and that’ll be a problem, so…let’s go back into Riptide.

Naturally, the Drilbur outspeeds Riptide and Digs again…

But it’ll get hit with Water Gun once it comes back up- maybe with the damage from Quick Attack, that’ll finish it?

Nope, not quite enough, and aaaaaaah Dig did more than I thought it would! 

No, no, we can handle this. It’ll surely Dig again on this turn, so we use a Potion first on the turn it’s underground…

And Riptide will live the Dig (as long as it doesn’t crit), and we can set up another Water Gun for when it comes back up!

Why did you even say anything, anyways…?

…W…Wait a second- don’t tell me…is this kid…?

Ingo and I have been talking about how his journals have been used as vital records of day to day Hisuian life and I realized I have a lot of PDF versions of the documents saved to my computer. The information is available if you know where to look, but I thought it could be fun for me to post excerpts of it that I still have access to. If you wanna see the kind of stuff I had to go off of for most of my life, feel free to have a read!

I might post more in the future, or I might simply boost other sources of it, we will see what format is ultimately preferred.

"It would seem that once again, the kindness of the Pearl Clan has left me indebted to them. In response to my often expressed worry that I will once again lose my memories, Warden Yūgao* has provided me with this journal. Having something concrete to record my memories in alleviates much of my worry, and will also be a good chance to practice this unfamiliar language. I am to write whatever I consider important to remember, and so I will begin with what is most important.

My name is Ingo, though the Pearl Clan has given me another name, Nobori. It is still somewhat odd to answer to this name, but my clan shows an unusual reluctance to call me by my given name that I have yet to understand. Aside from this, I know very little. My memories begin a few months ago, though they are rather disjointed, due to a head injury I received. I was brought to the Pearl Clan settlement by Lady Sneasler, and they cared for me until I was well enough to properly join them. Somehow, this feels familiar, to be Nobori of the Pearl Clan- such a clear allegiance to an organization simply feels correct to me. While initially, I could not speak with many of my clanmates, some of them do speak Galarian, which would seem to be my native language, though somehow this feels incorrect. Regardless, it is the language I spoke until I managed to learn enough Hisuy-itak to speak with those who are not traders, Wardens or the Clan Leader.

It would take too many pages to detail every day of my life in Hisui up until this point, so instead, I will begin with today. My skill in handling Pokemon and natural ability to understand them has made me highly in demand as a hunter, and so today I went with a party to Avalugg's Legacy, in hopes of catching some Swinub for our dinner..."

Pokemon oc idea thing / challenge

Make a team based off of your memorable interactions with the Pokemon franchise — first exposure to the franchise, first shiny, favourite card pull, whatever!! — and then reverse engineer the trainer!

For me, the team is:

Swinub = possible first exposure to Pokémon via Lugia & Ho-Oh edition pokéball sweet container I bought on holiday which I still have on my shelf!! 

Seviper = possible first exposure to Pokémon via anime, remember Rocket’s Seviper the clearest

Noivern = first new Pokémon I heard about, bought Y specifically for it, never got one

Dragalge = first Pokémon I straight didn’t know existed. Learnt about it from a local shop selling figures and not recognising the Dragalge.

Shiny Nuzleaf / Shiftry = first shiny (from trade, I’ve never caught one)

Stufful = toys’r’us card & my favourite card I own. Stole it from behind the register.

So the trainer would be from Hoenn with a Seviper as their first mon then go to Johto on holiday and pick up a Swinub very soon after. A few years later a friend gifts them a shiny Nuzleaf the friend no longer wants. At some point they learn of Noiverns and decide “I want one”, so go to Kalos with the sole purpose of getting one. The lack of prior research means they’re utterly unprepared for lots of Kalos’ native pokémon, with the worst experience being the Skelp line. They end up catching one to save their skid and head home. Then promptly return when they remember their original reason for going. Then return with a Noibat. They get a job at Lilycove Dep. Store where they find a Stufful among the pokédolls and smuggle them out (Smuggul??), likely getting bones broken in the process.

Lillian - My player character for Leaf Green, which was the first core series Pokemon game I played. Even then, the copy I played didn't belong to me so I couldn't save her adventure, so I never got her further than beating the second gym, and as a result she isn't built upon very much. Her starter Pokemon was a Bulbasaur and her favoured types were grass and electric. She loved her Raichu, Emmy, very much. I never changed her basic appearance from Leaf's and she never became a champion, probably more suited to researcher or breeder type courses in life. I named her rival Nigel, and she views Nigel as a friend.

Natalie - My player character for Pearl. This was the first Pokemon game I owned for myself, and thus my first champion. She nicknamed all of her Pokemon without exception. Unfortunately, my original save with Natalie got corrupted and deleted, so her original party are lost to the void. Her starter was a Piplup, named Phillip in the original save but in my redo it was a girl Piplup so she became Phillipa instead, and her other most major companion was a Luxray, raised from a Shinx, named Libby (again in my replay it was the opposite sex so was named Larry) - all of her Pokemon were given people names. Natalie is one of the more confident champions here. She has long pink hair and dark blue eyes. Her rival was named Julius, and she views him as very rude and intolerable. Also she has a crush on Maylene.

Francis - My player character for Soul Silver. Francis has an intense fondness and fascination for ghost, poison and dark types, and nicknames most of his Pokemon. His first was a Cyndaquil named Blitz, who he never evolved. His most beloved Pokemon other than Blitz are his Gengar, Spookie, Umbreon, Nightshade, Arbok, Fang, Mareep, Lightning, Dragonite, Digger, and shiny Charizard. He's quiet, loves places with deep history and dark vibes (he can often be found hanging around Lavender Town or Ecruteak City) and loves his Pokemon very very much. He once cried when his Arbok went missing for a while. I named his rival Maia, and he sees her as his best friend. He had a crush on Morty, but very much considered it a childish celebrity crush kids tend to develop mid puberty. He has black hair, purple eyes, wears clothes in blacks and purples to match his favoured types, and also has huge bags under his eyes like he hasn't slept his entire life.

Pippa - My player character for Alpha Sapphire. Pippa is a bright and cheerful young girl who delights in being in the spotlight. She goes out of her way to be kind and helpful to others and is both Hoenn champion and a top coordinator. She likes to dress modestly with long dresses with long sleeves and high collars. Her first Pokemon was a Mudkip named Kipper which she has never evolved, and in the contest world she is well known for her Seviper, Taffy, her Graveler, Rocky (exclusively used for cuteness contests), her Linoone, Ziggy and her Pikachu, Thugalina. She also has a close bond with her Sableye, Justin. Though enjoying being in the spotlight, she is modest and humble, and accepts compliments and criticism with grace. She considers her rivals, Brendan and Wally, as good friends and has a crush on Lisia. (She dislikes the other coordinator who had a crush on Lisia because he is rude and doesn't take no for an answer.) Pippa has short ginger hair and blue eyes, and typically wears a headband instead of a hat or bandanna.

Julian - My player character for Black. Julian probably has the lowest confidence of any of my champions, clearly suffering from low self esteem and anxiety. He favours ice and dragon types, with a particular fondness for his Mamoswine and her baby Swinub, and his Hydreigon. Though I cannot do this in game, Julian has named each individual head of the Hydreigon (they are named after the Powerpuff Girls). He gets on very well with Bianca, but feels like Cheren talks down to him and patronises him, but he'd never say anything or complain because he's terrified of confrontation and still wants to be friends with Cheren. His first Pokemon was a Snivy. Though she's a B&W2 character, Julian has a crush on Roxie. He has short, blond hair, orange eyes and wears primarily orange, white and pale yellow, including an orange beret. He is more surprised than anyone else that he became champion. The one circumstance he's been known to stand up to others in is when others threaten the bond between trainers and Pokemon, as his bond with his Pokemon is his most beloved thing.

Graycie - My player character for White 2. Graycie is Julian's younger sister by two years. I haven't played far in White 2 because I actually haven't yet finished Black (I'm stuck on a battle lol) but I can tell you Graycie is more confident and cheerful than her brother, and is also his biggest supporter. prior to him leaving on his adventure she would be the one to tell the servers he asked for no pickles. Graycie's first Pokemon was Oshawott. Graycie's appearance is the default Rosa appearance. Her rival is named Grayson and they are good friends. She has a crush on Benga.

Humphrey - My player character for X. Humphrey is a moody lad with a bit of an attitude and definite walls up. He didn't want to move to his new home and appears to be struggling with the upheaval prior to meeting Serena and co. Possibly a child of a very messy divorce or something, either way he's sad when he moves to Vaniville. He views his boundaries as very strict and important, and doesn't like being touched or grabbed or having people invading his personal space without warning. As a result, he absolutely hates Shauna, Tierno and Trevor, who tend to ignore his boundaries and annoy him a lot, especially Shauna who seems to keep flirting with him despite his lack of interest and repeatedly grabs him or latches onto him, and dislikes but tolerates Serena, who repeatedly invades his personal space. He's quite clumsy on his skates. Humphrey's first Pokemon was a Fennekin, and he favours bug types, being especially close to his Beedrill, Duchess. He also frequently uses and has a strong bond with his Luvdisc and Snorlax. His appearance is the basic default for Calem.

Lilo - My player character for Moon. Lilo is adventurous, bright and loves all things cute and weird looking. Her first Pokemon was a Litten, Waffle, which only evolved as far as a Torracat, and she loves fire types best. Lilo has a phobia of ghost types. She gets on very well with Hau and Lillie, and has a crush on Gladion. She is very protective of those she cares about and will punch, kick, bite and scratch if needed. She has long, dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Stitch - My player character for Ultra Sun. Stitch is Lilo's younger twin brother, and the two start their journey together but quickly go their own ways as they have different goals. He's quieter and calmer than his sister, but friendly and excitable, and certainly not without his wild moments. Lilo may be louder and more eccentric, but all the worst and most chaotic ideas they've had as a duo have been Stitch's. All of Stitch's Pokemon are named after Lilo & Stitch characters, and after a bit I just started going down a list of Jumba's experiments. His first Pokemon was a Popplio named Cobra Bubbles, and he has a close bond with his Arbok, Mertle, and his Mimikyu, Plushy. He gets on very well with Hau and Lillie and has a crush on Plumeria. At first glance you might not tell they're siblings, as Lilo and Stitch look nothing alike. Stitch has much lighter skin than his sister, and is blond with blue eyes, and definitely takes after their mother facially while Lilo takes after their father.

Mavis - My player character for Shield. Mavis shares my crippling anxiety, but can function better than Julian can. She is friendly and affectionate, and quick to make friends with those around her, but mean words cut her to the quick (she avoids Piers and Nessa because she's certain they hate her). Though she can get nervous easily, Mavis has never lost a single battle her entire trainer career (that's right, I found Shield so easy that I literally never lost a battle, so Mavis legitimately became an undefeated champion). She considers Hop, Marnie and Avery her friends and greatly enjoys their company, and she has a crush on Bede. Mavis has black hair in pigtails, pink eyes and wears glasses. Her first Pokemon was a Grookey, Sprout, who she never evolved, and she is also known for her 'poster Pokemon', Qi, a Garbodor, her Mimikyu, Mori, her Centiskorch, Flamestache, Sandaconda, Loopysnoot, and neurotic and extremely clingy Morgrem, Pinocchio. She nicknames all her Pokemon without fail.

Jade - My player character for Legends Arceus. Jade is hard working and determined. She's naturally quite afraid and out of sorts having been somehow slingshotted into the past and suddenly having to deal with straight up insane shit, but she's managing, she supposes. She's rather quiet. Her first Pokemon was a Cyndaquil named Winston. She has blonde hair in pigtails and green eyes. She has a crush on Volo.

Vernon - My Shining Pearl player character. Vernon is Natalie's younger brother, and is more interested in contests than the league, but partakes in both. He favours poison types and was originally designed as a gym leader for an imaginary region before being put here. He tends to be closed off and quiet, and is fairly thick skinned. His first Pokemon was a Turtwig named Cooper. He considers lying in a pile of snake Pokemon self care. His rival is named Percy, and Vernon hates him, viewing him as a lifelong bully who has taken delight in pushing him around and threatening him while claiming to be a friend. Vernon has very long dark purple hair in a braid designed to resemble a scorpion tail in the way it curves and points at the end, and dark blue eyes. He tends to dress in blacks and purples and is in a wheelchair, as he is paralysed from the waist down. It is important to me that everyone know he has a shiny Seviper named Julius Squeezer. He also has an Arbok that is also named Waffle. And he brings Giratina to contests.

Flavio - My Violet player character. He's fabulous, opinionated and outspoken, and he doesn't take shit. Not here to be pushed around or bullied. His first Pokemon was a Fuecoco named Vector, and his treasure is a Seviper he found named Mr Blep. Flavio has mid-long ash purple hair and amber-brown eyes, and freckles. He also wears lipstick. He gets on well with Nemona and Kieran, has a crush on Arven and Carmine, and hates Penny with every inch of his soul (look girl, being bullied in the past is not an excuse to be a terrible person who does terrible things, treats others like shit and makes fun of orphans). The championship in Paldea and the destruction of Team Star made him feel like he hadn't truly accomplished anything - you only need to beat the Chairwoman to become champion and she wasn't even that tough, and he could think of much less harmful ways of dealing with Team Star. He felt listless and stagnated and may have suffered from depression before going to Kitakami and Kalos and feeling like he actually accomplished something. Also he hates most of the teachers, teachers suck and these teachers double suck.

I of course also have OCs for the side games, Coraline for New Pokemon Snap, who is sweet and passionate and loves to learn, Willow for Pokemon Link, who is tough, adventurous and heroic, Harlow for Magikarp Jump who just really loves Magikarp and collects them, mans really hyperfixates on Magikarp, Nova for Masters EX who is bubbly and bright and friendly and encourages others, and Bridie for Go who is strong willed and determined and never gives up and has a crush on Arlo. And technically Ollie, for the Stadium series, who takes part in event battles in the Stadium but soon retires with the blind Houndoom I got glitched for me in Stadium 2 once and opens a Pokemon Sanctuary. (He owns a sanctuary in Johto and all the Pokemon there are based off ones I own either as plushies or have encountered as glitches in games like Stadium and Stadium 2)

Honourable mention as well to Orlando and Luigi, who were created for demo playthroughs of ORAS and Let's Go Pikachu. Orlando was Steven's bastard child he occasionally came to visit and teach about mega evolution, and Luigi hangs around forests with his adorable Pokemon with adorable nicknames, and has a rival named Arnie.

So because when I was a child my name was too long to fit in the character limit for most games, I often ended up making up characters for the game instead, which has led to me making an OC for every single Pokémon game I've ever played.

She’s a rainbow: Ingo x F! Reader

Soulmate AU: You see the world in black and white until you make eye contact with your soulmate.

"So this is how I die..." you thought as you curled into ball in a vain attempt to keep warm, freezing to death in cave in a unknown region after "runt..." You weakly looked and saw the Snorunt you'd accidentally captured watching you sadly, If your jaw would stop chattering you would've thanked him for staying with you and helping you save a baby Swinub from a flock of Rufflets.... Who knows maybe that deed will get you into heaven faster, such a thought almost made you chuckle before the regret started rushing in as you thought about all the friends you left behind, the things you wanted to do... The soulmate you'll never meet... You eyes started feeling heavy...Is it normal to feel sleepy when your cold?

  Snorunt started panicking and shaking your body begging you to stay awake when suddenly. "Nub...Nubb!" Snorunt looked over it's shoulder to see, the baby Swinub from earlier had arrive with a group of other Swinub, a Piloswine and a giant one tusked Mamoswine, before Snorunt could even figure out what was happening? The Swinubs and Piloswine were piled on top of you and protecting you from the cold and other Pokémon, the Mamoswine grunted at the baby Swinub who started nudging Snorunt out of the cave oinking at him to follow her... Snorunt spared you one last worried glance and followed her.

Meanwhile Ingo and Lady Sneasler were headed back to the Iceland den when he noticed his lady had fallen behind. "My lady this is not our scheduled stop..." Ingo's brow furrowed as he watched Sneasler was talking with two little ones, a Snorunt and Swinub whatever they were saying troubled the noble, they took off like Zubats outta hell much to Ingo confusion. "My lady wha-" Sneasler suddenly barked at him and followed after the odd duo, not needing to be told twice Ingo followed after Sneasler and after a few minutes of running through the snow and taking odd turns they arrived to small cave, Ingo vaguely recognized the area as one of Ol'Tusk's dens.

See, Ol'Tusk was an elder Pokémon he was sort of a honorary Noble among the Pearl clan the gentle giant was so old but, his endeavors and strength were well respected among the other nobles, nowadays he just clears snow and ice out of the roads and is often found resting his old joints in the hot springs... Ingo was wondering why they were here? then he had the thought that maybe Ol'Tusk was nearing the end of his track?! 

Ingo cautiously approached the cave worried he was about to find a deceased Elder, instead Ingo was baffled when he found Ol'Tusk very much alive watching Lady Sneasler fussing over something, the warden squinted and saw a strange puffball under a pile of Swinubs, Ingo got closer realized it was a hat and there was a woman under the piggy pile!

Ingo made his way over to the pile his mind racing wonder what this woman was doing all the way out here, the Swinubs and Piloswine, moved aside to let him through, Ingo noted the odd clothes the woman had on weren't appropriated for this type of weather. He took his jacket off and went to cover her, then the woman's eyes opened briefly they made eye contact, suddenly Ingo's world was filled with vibrant blue and light purples and browns.

Ingo immediately pushed his excitement aside when he saw the woman had passed out again, Ingo draped his coat over her and picked the woman up and carefully placed in Lady Sneasler's basket, as they were about to leave Ingo noticed the Snorunt and Swinub from who led them the cave were following closely while eyeing Ingo warily, the warden wondered if they were yours? Guess he'll find out when you wake up... He hopes you wake up.

A few hours later you woke up confused and warm staring at... a cave ceiling? but it wasn't ice like the one you remember, it took you a while for your fuzzy mind to also realize you were tucked in a futon and you saw an arm draped across your waist your body was took weak to sit up, you turned your head and saw a frowning man with strange sideburns sleeping next to you.

 A thick heavy blanket covered your side of the futon as his arm stayed firmly around your side, after a few seconds of staring blankly at the guy your brain finally noticed something, Your Snorunt and the Swinub were nearby sleeping together as cute as it was, that wasn't what caught your attention no...it was the fact that Snorunt was blue,... and Swinub was brown! your heart sped up as you realized you were seeing colors! Then that means this man is your soulmate?

Your eyes looked around the cave in awe and saw white and purple ribbons decorating the ceiling illuminated by the warm orange glow of the lanterns hanging by said ribbons, you were pulled from your awe-fest, by a deep very amused chuckle you looked back at your soulmate to find him awake giving you a tired smile while watching you look around, at this point you finally noticed how attractive he was, and you probably looked the proper fool gawking around his room like a child!

Your face felt hot as you tried avoid his eyes as you felt him get up. "No need to be embarrassed Y/n, I spent literally two hours staring at evolution stones" he said reaching over and checking your forehead. "You don't seem to have a fever...yet, you probably confused right now" Dang right you were! you tried to speak up but you throat so dry and sore all you could do was let out a pathetic croak.

"A friend changed your clothes, She'll be by tomorrow to ask you some things." he explained as you finally found your voice.

"Wh-who are you, how do you know my name?"

"My name is Ingo, I don't need to explain that we're soulmates, and as you other question. *Hands you your trainers license.* It was in your coat pocket."

"How did I get here?"

"You can thank those children over there."

Children? your brows furrowed as you turned look back at Snorunt and Swinub who were still passed out by the door. "They alerted My lady of your predicament and lead us right to your location." Now you were very happy you caught Snorunt... But where did that Swinub come from? you noticed a scrap of fabric from your clothes was tied to one of it's feet and realized it was the baby you saved! as if sensing you watching them. Snorunt and Swinub woke up and immediately rushed over you! jumping into your lap crying as you petted them and tried to calm them down. "They seemed very worried about you, are they yours?" Ingo inquired as watched Swinub nuzzle your side. "Erm... Snorunt is mine, Swinub on the other hand is um..." You explained how you saved Swinub from being pecked to death by a flock of Rufflets and how she ran off after you tended to her wounds.

Then Ingo explained where he found you and how he had a feeling that this Swinub you saved was a child of Ol'Tusk and how the elder Pokémon was returning the favor. "That makes sense, but why didn't she stay with her family?" You pressed petting Swinub. "Pokémon are a strange lot, sometimes you choose them and sometimes they choose you, and I think Swinub made hers." Ingo hummed reaching out to pet the baby Pokémon, Ingo made a mental note to give you a Pokéball to catch Swinub later, but for now you needed to rest, time passed by pretty fast and soon you were mobile again! Ingo introduced you to Lady Sneasler and clan leader Irida who was lovely young girl.

Lady Sneasler kept giving Ingo these sly looks and giggle whenever he blushed, it took a while for the other Pearl members to warm up to you, Irida explained that they were just worried about Ingo as he's been through a lot, Ingo told you about his situation, how he lost his memories when he arrived to Hisui similar to how you did, except you still had your memories, Ingo thinks the snow cushioned your fall so you didn't sustain major damage to yourself like he did.

Ingo was from your time? Is that why you're here, did something bring you to him? Will it send us back? those thoughts plagued your mind as you walked next to Ingo, who watched you with troubled expression, he was worried that you missed your home and without a word he gently reach out and held your hand. "Don' worry too much about it, we'll find a way home I'm sure of it." You gave his hand a squeeze as the two of you made you way Jubilife Village, admiring the rainbow of flowers, green hills and blue skies along the way.

Talking About My Pokemon Teams: Shining Pearl

Hi, I’m Rosa.  I play a lot of pokemon, I do a lot of nuzlockes, and I have a lot of teams from my years of all that.

There’s a team from 2021 that, despite everything having to do with thise game, is very important to me-and that’s my Blind Nuzlocke of Shining Pearl!  Let’s talk about it!

I say “Blind”, but i had played DP before and I did know the levels of the gym leader + champion beforehand.  In terms of my rules, I played on set mode and didn’t use healing items in battle, and I tried (keyword: tried) to keep my pokemon’s levels. on par with my opponents.  Anyway...the team!

-Eminence the Empoleon -Flaire the Mismagius -Rosemary the Clefable -Willow the Roserade -Crown the Rapidash -Bullseye the Ursaring

Honestly, in terms of a blind team?  I really loved this one. 

As far as Sinnoh teams go, I did my best to reject the typical “Sinnoh Starter Pack” team, and sought out Pokemon that were at least a little stranger-though I did have to go with Roserade in the absence of other, weirder grass types I thought would be available.  Empoleon was my starter of choice as it was easily the one I had used the least in my years of replaying Platinum (and Diamond...once).  Rapidash filled the rare file slot, and I lucked into getting my favorite pokemon-Clefable-with an incredible Modest nature to boot!  I chose Shining Pearl due to Misdreavus being an exclusive, and was able to get one at the earliest possible chance in Eterna Forest,  Choosing SP as my version also let me get a new addition to the story in the Grand Underground’s Teddiursa!

...Ursaring, in particular, was the start of something special.  Her pickup ability let me snag early Dusk and Shiny stones for my team, which was potentially what saved us from an early-game Gyarados.  Once evolved, that turned to annoyance at the affection mechanics of BDSP-I kept trying to take advantage of Guts, but she kept shaking off the status-but in the end that only endeared Bullseye to me even further.  She’s not the only one I loved, though-in my mind, everyone on this team was an all star!  Stuff like Crown and Willow sweeping the first two elite four members and Rosemary just generally being the MVP of tankability stick out in my mind.  We even only had one death throughout most of the game-a little Swinub I lost to a guy with three Sudowoodo.

However...there’s a sad ending to this team.

We wiped to the Pokemon league.

I had heard going into this league that this may be the hardest pokemon endgame on record, but after the first two went down easy I was feeling good about things.  Flint changed that.  After weathering the rest of his diverse team, the weakened team had to face his Infernape with basically no counter.  Rosemary was our best chance and...she got crit twice in a row, which was the only way it could have killed her.  After losing Crown and Eminence to it, too, Willow of all pokemon came in with the earlier bane of my existence, affection, living one one hp and killing the thing.  We’d made it out with three pokemon on pure luck.

Flaire was able to calm mind sweep Lucian after that, and we almost pulled off the same thing on Cynthia...but her last pokemon, Garchomp, outsped and killed Flaire.  My only chance was a guts-boosted Giga Impact from Bullseye-but in my stress, I had forgotten to teach the tm.  Slash only did a meager half hp to Garchomp, and Cynthia finished our run for us.

Despite the wipe, despite everything, despite BDSP being...well, BDSP... adored this team.  it felt so unique and so “me” for being from game with such a meager selection, and even without sticking the landing I can’t help but give this team a 10/10.

How bad would it be for Evelyn's mental health is all three of her siblings disappeared? Also, what if only Nita ends up in Hisui, and the other two are Elsewhere-like, say, Orre and the PMD universe? (At least they'd be able to find the sister who fell into Orre more easily, as Orre is modern-era.)

Evelyn would... not be doing well. Mainly because I think that, for a while at least, she would try to run the Maison on her own. And fail utterly. She's one person doing the job of four, she falls apart after a few weeks.

Thankfully, I think someone would intervene, likely the champion of Kalos. They'd get Evelyn in contact with the World Police.

As for the other sisters, I feel Morgan would fall into Orre and Dana into PMD. The problem for Morgan is, it isn't guaranteed that she's in the same timeline. Morgan is in a way the most lost, since she doesn't really find a purpose for a long while. I think she'd eventually come to stay at Krane's lab, and what happens from there depends on what point in the timeline Morgan appeared at.

As for Dana, she's a human sent to the world of PMD. She's pretty much destined to find a partner and save the world. As for what Pokémon she becomes, I think Torchic fits her best (red, likes battles, originates from Hoenn) while her partner would be Swinub to reference her Piloswine.

It's another event broken down into two parts, the first running from Dec16 to Dec23, starting and ending at 10am.

Wild Pokemon include: Pikachu, Swinub, Spheal, Delibird, Snorunt, Spheal, Snover, Vanillite, and Cubchoo, with Alolan Sandshrew and Cryogonal being rare encounters.

Raid Mons are: 1⭐ Pikachu, Alolan Sandshrew, Swinub, Spheal, and Cubchoo. 3⭐ are Cloyster, Stantler, Glaceon, and Delibird. 5⭐ is Kyurem. Mega Steelix can be found in Mega Raids.

Field Research Mons include: Pikachu, Alolan Vulpix, Swinub, Stantler, Spheal, and Cubchoo, with Cryogonal being a rare encounter.

Community Day will take place over the 18th and 19th.

Part 2 starts from Dec23 at 10am to Dec31 at 8pm, and Bergmite and Avalugg make their GO debut!

During part 2 of the event, you’ll get an Egg Incubator for spinning your first PokéStop each day!

Two Timed Research quests focused on friendship and catching Pokémon will be available during part 2 of the event! Each of these research lines will lead to an encounter with Galarian Mr. Mime!

A special mini-event will take place from Dec25 at 10am to Dec26 at 8pm local time (no details provided), as well as a collection challenge focusing on trading with your friends, running from Dec25 to Dec31. You can trade with friends up to 40km away.

The wild encounters are the same as in the first half, just replace Alolan Sandshrew with Alolan Vulpix, and add Bergmite to the rare encounters.

Raids are also nearly the same, tho replace Swinub and Alolan Sandshrew in the first part for Alolan Vulpix and Galarian Darumaka for 1⭐ Raids and Cloyster with Lapras for the 3⭐ Raids. 5⭐ and Mega Raids are the same.

Egg Mons hatching from 7km eggs are: Swinub, Holiday Cubchoo, Smoochum, Galarian Darumaka, Bergmite, Cryogonal

And Field Research Mons for part 2 are the same as part 1, just swap out Alolan Vulpix for Alolan Sandshrew, and Cryogonal for Galarian Darumaka as our rare encounter.

Welcome to Red Counts Kills, where we tally up the victims in all our favorite media. I’m Redwood Reed, and today we’re looking at Poke Wars: The Lapidescence, the remake of Poke Wars: The Subsistence, the first one I covered in the new format.

For a refresher, and for those who didn’t read Subsistence’s entry, in the Poke Wars universe, every Pokemon has suddenly become lethally powerful overnight, and most of the wild ones have been given a thirst for blood. Society is no match for this change, but there are survivors, who we, of course, follow; in this case, Ash and his Sinnoh companions, Brock and Dawn, and their Pokemon.

Lapidescence is a higher quality fic than Subsistence, with no grammar mistakes to speak of and more though it keeps the love triangle subplot everyone always loves to see. It also changes the plot for Ash’s group going forwards, having them stay in Pallet Town for the time being instead of keeping themselves moving, as Prof. Oak never told Ash to find Gary, a much smarter move than leaving the relative safety of a former town.

It also treats the Pokemon as characters, with some scenes from their perspective, and lots of trauma and guilt for Pikachu. Because of this, and maybe because of Burt’s Hunting Log, which was still ongoing when I started this count, I’ve decided to continue counting Pokemon as kills for the Poke Wars series.

Let’s go ahead and get to the kills!

I counted 164 kills in Poke Wars: The Lapidescence, placing it in second place for highest kills, just 4 kills behind The Aura is with the Forgotten and 47 ahead of Pokemon MASTER; only counting humans drops it down to just 27 kills, putting it in between the two previous Poke Wars entries we’ve covered in 6th place, 1 kill behind The Coalescence with 28 (including Pokemon) and 12 ahead of The Subsistence with 15 (excluding Pokemon). The kills included 9 male humans, 6 female humans, and 12 unspecified humans, along with 24 male Pokemon, 6 female Pokemon, and 107 unspecified Pokemon.

With a length of 153 thousand words, there’s a kill on average every 933 words. 

Golden Chainsaw for Coolest Kill goes to the Fearow that Dawn ferociously stabbed to death to protect her Swinub, ‘cause it’s a young girl ferociously stabbing a superpowered 4-foot 84-pound (1.2 m 38 kg) bird of prey to death to protect her baby pig-mammoth! Fuck yeah, go Dawn!

I have two Dull Machetes for Lamest Kills: The first goes to Ash’s Gliscor, who, after avenging his friend’s death and very nearly saving a woman hanging from an aircraft in the middle of a battle, was collateral damage in the death of Roark’s Onix just a few paragraphs before the chapter ended and he would’ve been left to an ambiguous fate, and the second goes to Tracey’s Venonat, whose offscreen death was mentioned so briefly I missed it at first.

Hmm.... 5 and 7?

5: I couldn’t just pick one pokemon i’d like to play through the games as so here’s a list: zubat, igglybuff, magby, magnemite, swinub, and remoraid. I’ve played through on an emulator before where I’ve edited the potential pokemon you can start as, but I much prefer playing on my actual DS. (I have super bad tendonitis and can’t use a computer for more than five minutes without a ton of pain). As for a pokemon I wish I could play with, I always wanted to be able to recruit the shiny celebi from PMD2 onto my team! 7: I always imagined that the future trio would go on to develop a guild similar to Wigglytuff’s with the intent to begin repairing the world they saved! I really don’t think Celebi and Dusknoir would ever get along too well though, she doesn’t seem like the type to easily forgive and forget imo.
