I’ve dreamt of the same person 4 nights this week
#it’s someone I’ve never met but I could describe him in detail#every time I wake up from the dream it feels like a thread wearing thin until it snaps#like we’re connected somehow#I think I might be in love with this dream guy#he wears pinkish red glasses#hes a teacher at a college- but he’s a (very good) physicist#he’s married (✋🏽😔)#his dad died recently and left him his boat. he hasn’t had time to work on it recently but he really loves it#the first dream we met if I recall correctly since it was almost a week ago#I believe I sat in on his class accidentally while I was looking for my actual class and then stayed because I was mesmerized by him talking#then he pointed out that I wasn’t in his class and we talked as he walked me across campus to my class#later that night we ran into each other at a local bar and ended up hanging out all night (bar hopping but it felt like a date almost)#the second dream I saw him in was mostly watching him from afar on the campus#at the end of that one I heard that he got recognized for something he did in physics#and this one was#well. very romantic#like unintentionally#waking up was actually agony today#put me back in coach#this one I was out with coworkers at said bar again#working on some sort of project I think and then dream guy walks in#I think he ended up accosting one of my friends over a spilled drink or something but in a nice way#so I used it as an excuse to -diffuse the situation- to go talk to him#so he ends up sitting with us at our table and chatting and he tells me about his physics thing#and he had such a sweet look in his eyes when I told him I was proud of him and how smart he was#somehow I ended up curled up in his lap snuggled up against him while we were all talking#because for some reason we’re very comfortable with each other#the dream ended with us looking into each others eyes after I said something about his dad and the boat#the (are we about to kiss right now??) look in his eyes jolted me awake since I was like. but he’s married!!! I’m not evil!!#but maybe I am now I guess

it is late so I'm going to be a lil too vulnerable on main and then probably bury it so it doesn't get seen
sometimes I still get really upset that when my mental health took (even more of) a dive when I tried college my family mostly left me to deal with it on my own. and I struggled with it really hard for almost a decade. the only thing bringing this up would do is destroy or strain relationships that I rely on to keep myself housed and safe, and I also still love them despite everything.
but it hurts to have lost such a big chunk of my life while repeatedly asking for help, and sometimes being told yes they would help, only for it to rarely materialize. lingering in this only paralyzes me though, so I'm trying to learn to let it go but it's difficult
#there is so much that i did and do want to do and i wonder how much further i would be on those paths or what i would have learned or done#if someone had. like. sat down with me and helped me even just. find a network that could help me more often then they could.#there were some attempts but what i needed was. like. a therapist. a job coach who would keep up with. a support group. something.#being signed up for a self advocacy class that was specific to a state i no longer lived in was. uh. minimally long term helpful.#i also was only back in that state after moving away because of a family issue and it ended up destroying my health even more#a running theme in my life i suppose#dear diary: fml

Day One Hundred Thirty-Two
All the juniors took SATs today. In order to minimize distractions and give them the best test-taking environment possible, the rest of the school operated on an atypical schedule: Blocks 1 and 2 were about half an hour longer than usual, Block 3 was about ten minutes longer than usual, there was no flex block, the lunches were changed so that all the test-takers could eat C lunch... Block 4 was normal, but
It actually worked out really well for my World students because it gave them more time to finish the rough drafts of their essays. I was really impressed by how well they used the time, especially during Block 2 because it was so lengthy. Did they run out of steam in the last ten minutes or so? Yeah, but they’d done so well up until that point, it was alright.
I had an observer in the room- Mr. Y, a former student and current middle school social studies teacher, who came up to see what a day in ninth grade social studies. Now, Mr. Y was a sophomore when I started teaching, and, while he wasn’t my student, he and I often talked politics because it’s an interest of his. While he was in college, he did a bunch of his observation hours in my classroom, and since he joined the middle school faculty we’ve been colleagues and friends. We have very similar mindsets and beliefs about education, so it was fun for both of us to spend the day together.
It used to be a regular thing that the middle school teachers visited us to observe, and we visited them, but then Covid happened, admins changed, etc, etc... So Mr. Y realized it’d been a while since he’d observed, and he wanted to make sure he’s still preparing his eighth graders well for their experience here, and that’s how this came about. His former students were thrilled to see him, and even the students who hadn’t had him as a teacher were happy to talk to him about their essays. Meantime, I was giving pointers, answering questions, proofreading on request. It was great.
Then my APGOV students came in to prepare for a discussion-based assessment about Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail” and Malcolm X’s “The Ballot or the Bullet.” I asked them to write 8-10 questions about the content, context, and/or style of these texts, and they got right to work. Mr. Y got a look at some of their questions, which was great because he got to see the level or work students are doing by the time they’re in twelfth grade and in an AP class. He took a ton of notes to share with the other middle school social studies teachers, and hopefully we’ll all get back into the habit of observing each other more regularly.
I missed most of track practice today because I had to renew my CPR certification, and our school nurses were offering a class this afternoon. I made it out for the last ten or fifteen minutes, but that was long enough for my face to get a bit of windburn. And, man, if I had to describe preseason, that’s one of the things I would definitely say: windburn. But, despite the wind, there was sunshine and warmth, and the snow is melting!

Designing the Perfect Outdoor Building Sign for Your Business
In today's competitive market, outdoor signage is an indispensable asset for any commercial business. An effective outdoor building sign not only attracts potential customers but also communicates your brand identity and core values. Whether you're looking for vibrant color schemes or minimalist designs, creating an impactful outdoor sign is crucial to your business's visibility and success. In this blog, we will guide you through the process of designing the perfect outdoor building sign for your commercial enterprise.
Why Outdoor Building Signs Matter
Outdoor building signs for business serve as a vital marketing tool. They're often the first impression customers get of your business and can significantly influence their decision to enter your establishment. According to studies, nearly 60% of consumers say that they have tried a new business because of its signage. This statistic highlights the importance of having high-quality outdoor building signs for your business.
Essential Elements of a Great Outdoor Sign
When designing your sign, consider the following essential elements:
1. Clarity and Readability: Your message should be clear at a glance. Choose fonts that are easy to read and avoid overly complex designs. Ensure that your sign can be understood quickly, even from a distance.
2. Size and Location: The size of your sign should be proportional to the building and the amount of space available. Also, consider its location. A sign placed where traffic and foot traffic can see it ensures maximum exposure.
3. Brand Consistency: Your sign should reflect your business's brand identity. Use colors, logos, and fonts that are consistent with your branding to create a cohesive look that resonates with your audience.
4. Materials Matter: Choose weather-resistant materials that can withstand the elements, such as acrylic, aluminum, or wood. The right material will ensure your sign looks great year-round.
5. Lighting: Proper lighting can enhance visibility at night. Consider illuminated options or external lighting sources that highlight your sign after dark.
Custom Made Signs for Business
Investing in custom made signs for your business allows you to dictate exactly how you want your brand to be represented. Custom signs can range from illuminated displays to dimensional letters and more. When opting for custom signage, work closely with experienced designers who understand commercial business signs and can bring your vision to life.
Local Regulations and Permits
Before finalizing any design, be sure to check local regulations regarding business signage. Many municipalities require permits and have specific guidelines regarding size, lighting, and placement. Understanding these regulations can save you time and prevent costly alterations down the line?
Exploring Options: Commercial Signs Near Me
To find the best solutions for your business's outdoor building sign, look for commercial signs near you. Local signage companies can provide valuable insight and often have a range of options tailored to your needs. Additionally, collaborating with local experts means you can easily visit their facilities, discuss your ideas, and see samples of their work in person.
Designing the perfect outdoor building sign for your business is not just about aesthetics; it's about functionality, visibility, and the impression you leave on potential customers. Whether you're creating custom made signs for business or sourcing commercial business signs from local suppliers, every element counts. By focusing on clarity, brand consistency, quality materials, and compliance with local regulations, your outdoor sign can become a powerful marketing tool that effectively communicates your brand to the public.
Take the time to invest in a well-designed outdoor building sign, and watch as it transforms your business's visibility and appeal to customers in your area. Remember, your sign is more than just a sign—it's your first impression. Make it count!
