Hi, have you ever read any kakasaku fics? This ask isn't about kakasaku but Sasuke. Apparently many fic writers write Sakura cheating on Sasuke in his absence in boruto era with kakashi and she's a victim of Sasuke's ignorance. And that she deserve happiness because Sasuke won't give her that. I'm like???

I'm sorry, WHAT?

No, I haven't, and this ask made sure I would never open that tag even by mistake. I really don't know the context and I don't like writing negative comments on fics or writers, but Dear God, this sounds purely sadistic.

Because obviously, someone as lonely and broken as him definitely deserves to be cheated on, right? Because we can't have a character that understands him and tries to, idk, just talk to him. His wife can no way spend a minute trying to understand why he wanted his brother back that day and what more she needs to know and understand so she can understand his sadness better.

What's up with her unnecessary victimization? How is she a victim and if she wanted happiness why even write that she married Sasuke? She knew he wasn't interested in her. She knew this until the last moment. But then she married him nonetheless. I hate cheaters.

Ugh, so I've been seething ever since I received this ask, and have tried to respond to it in as much neutral language as I feel capable of doing, because this sounds so, so cruel to me and that people would write something like that. :( It's not even that I ship them, but cheating is horrible and inexcusable. Especially when two people closest to him are involved.

Whoever wrote those fics must hate Sasuke a lot. :/

There was something almost cathartic in the planning of a death, especially of someone who no longer existed. Sasuke The Demisexual King

I was a bit apprehensive about making this post because English is not my native language. So, apologies in advance. But thank you @kirinlady for the comment.

First of all, being demisexual has nothing to do with being gay or straight; you can be either. Another point is that you can have your headcanon; you are free to do so. But I am focusing on the canon line Kishimoto intended, which was SasuSaku from the start, according to the databooks and the novels.

There is A LOT OF CONTEXT SO GET READY.

Let's start!

In the first part of the Naruto series, Sasuke is very touch-deprived, traumatized by his family's murder by his brother, living in the house where they were killed, and self-isolating. A more correct way to describe it is to say he is touch-starved. Lack of physical touch can lead to feelings of emptiness and loneliness.

Sasuke had been without care for so long that being touched in a non-aggressive way might have given him sensory overload.

It's important to discuss these points when it comes to Sasuke's story. Naruto was also touch-deprived, but he externalized it, while Sasuke internalized it. This context aside:

A good part of the reason why people think Sasuke is gay is because he repels the touch of women and rejects flirtations from many girls. Sasuke doesn't need to feel anything towards these people, no matter their intentions. A man rejecting a girl does not make him gay, just as a girl rejecting a guy does not make her a lesbian. People have the right to their own bodies. It doesn't matter if you or many people would act differently; Sasuke is not that guy.

As I said, you can have your headcanon, but even fictional characters are people. Doubting someone's sexuality just because they don't follow a pattern says more about people in real life than about the character.

A good example is Gaara, who is clearly asexual with clear romantic feelings towards Naruto. I can see that in him more than in Sasuke. But this is my headcanon. I said Asexual no Aromantic.

Back in the series, Sasuke eventually gets more comfortable with Team 7. Kakashi respects his boundaries, Naruto is not the hugging type with him, but Sakura is another story. He can not avoid her like all the girls.

But this time is different. He sees her maturing, becoming a friend to him, and like a sister to Naruto. And this is the part where Sasuke starts to change. Seeing Sakura and Naruto's interactions makes him angry, maybe jealous. Sakura's attention was entirely his, but now it isn't, though a lot of it still is for him.

And this healthy distance makes him realize he misses her, maybe even wants her close. This brings us to the second part of being touch-deprived: What do you do when someone touches you? Mostly, he stands there or keeps his arms still. But he is not annoyed or pushing her away. He could, but he just doesn't want to.

She has such power over him that she can stop him even while he is controlled by Orochimaru's seal. He reaches for her while in pain, he gets mad when she is hurt. We all love the phase "who did this to you". He remembers her hug when he is losing control. She is that light.

They are kids at this point, but I really think he had feelings already. He wanted to protect her as a friend, and as something he did not understand. Lets not mention the blant Jealousy at adate ( =I think that's his name", and feeling powerless when Naruto saves her instead of him. But he had no time to figure out his feelings before being manipulated by Orochimaru's machinations to leave.

Even when he left, Sasuke accepted her feelings but chose to go anyway. But accepting her feelings, doesn't mean he is ready or is the time to act on them.

Now to the point of the post: Is Sasuke demisexual?

Demisexuality means being sexually attracted to someone only when you have an emotional bond with them.

The first part of the post was about 12-year-olds. This part is about 15/16-year-olds. Sasuke could have had any girl, and this is the age where most people's hormones are crazy. But he does not feel that need.

When facing Sakura for the first time, he recognizes her immediately. Sure, her hair is the same, but it has been three years. He is not attacking; he is just looking at her. It could be coldness, or it could be a boy who does not know what to do. I can't know what would have happened if they were alone. Sasuke shifts after Naruto gets there. His voice tone is different; he is not as pleased to see Naruto as he is to see her.

This part is a more general view, but MOST demisexuals don't flirt like most people. Since it is deeply connected to emotions, there are a lot of acts of service, a lot of stares, and small touches. Much of what Sasuke shows towards Sakura and only Sakura.

And there is Karin. I dont have her, I like her. She is a great charact with great backstory if you don't agree fight me.

But Karin is very disrespectuful at the begning. Maybe that is why there was so much hate.

Sasuke pushes Karin away in a more respectful way than she behaves with him. He is not interested in that. Karin is pretty; anyone would want to be with her, but Sasuke did not because does not have feelings for her, plus she did not respect him. Even traveling with him for some time, she still did not respect his boundaries. Maybe that is why he has no warm feelings towards her. Feelings that would keep him from doing that infamous Danzo scene.

Karin did nothing to harm Sasuke, yet he harmed her because she wasn't important to him. So there were no feelings to hold him back, even a little. The once-manipulated Sasuke, this time by Obito, had no problem getting rid of her.

Yes, he was wrong. Terribly wrong, because she had helped him so many times. But the reason was that she wanted him carnally. And this does not flowrish in Sasuke.

Sakura and Sasuke are on a whole other level. Sasuke was fed up with Naruto and Kakashi because, even though Sakura also wanted him in the village, her methods to pursue him were different on his eyes. Sakura had hugged him, Sakura had begged him to stay. He had a completely different vision of her.

He attacked Naruto first.

But Sakura attacked him first, so he reacted.

I really think "losing Sakura" made him even madder. He dived even deeper into his sadness. She was that one thing he was sure about. Honestly, I think his offer was to push her away because hurting her would hurt him.

Sasuke put those feelings inside once more. But seeing her again at the war, he answers only to her. The more he tries to push her away, the stronger those feelings come. And he is always watching her. He smiles when she destroys the ground, she shakes when she calls him.

And he claims, "I have no reason to be loved by her or to love her," even if that was not what Kakashi said or asked. He said Sakura wanted to help him. Honestly, he brought up the romance card. The moments their eyes clicked, when he came to save her and succeeded, the way he once felt powerless to do as a child. So he puts her to sleep because her words would stop him.

Maybe he could take Naruto in a fight, but he could not handle Sakura's cry one more time.

Because he thinks he does not deserve her. He leaves and travels. Again, he could have had anyone at this time once more. Now a man with crimes pardoned, a respected man. Only when he was complete did he come back.

People talk about Sakura's constant "afterglow" when Sasuke is in the village. They comment that they have pillow talks, the intimacy he craves, and a person to go and call home.

Sasuke never loved another because he had already accepted Sakura's feelings at age 12. Sasuke never wanted another physically because he had wished for only one person. His desires are connected to his emotions.

Sasuke says that no matter how far they are, or how long they haven't seen each other, his feelings for Sakura will never change.

And neither have hers.

Ending with this frame because it shows what I think is the start of his feelings. Look at how beautiful she is; this is Sasuke's vision. I think Sakura is very pretty. But here, she is much prettier than normal.

He sees her as more beautiful than we do.

Sasusaku snippet #3

[Misunderstanding]

"Sakura."

"Hm?""

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing?"

He shakes his head. "You've been… Like this since we came back. What's going on?"

Sakura has been distant. While they were in Redaku they got closer and shared lots of intimate moments, but now that they are back in Konoha, Sakura has been busy and has kept avoiding him. She always seems distracted, concerned, and lost in thoughts, to the point he begins to wonder if she is feeling unwell or if she might be falling out of love.

To his surprise, Sakura breaks down into tears in front of him. "I'm pregnant," she sobs.

His heart swells in his chest. He wasn't expecting this at all but looking back, they weren't very careful when seeing each other in Redaku and he can't be completely surprised. He is both relieved to know why Sakura was acting strange, and worried to see her so sad at the news.

He comes to hug her. "Why are you crying?"

"I'm sad that we won't keep it."

He blinks. He must be missing something. "Why?"

Sakura shakes in his embrace as she wipes the tears on her cheeks with her fingers. "Because you don't want to."

He clearly is missing some info. "Why would I not want to?" he asks in disbelief.

Sakura gives a weak shrug. "It's been so long since Sarada, and everyone is done with diapers and bottles, and you never talked about wanting another baby…"

"I didn't want you to be alone at home with two young kids, but now it's different."

Sakura looks up with a loud sniffle. "Is it?"

"Obviously! Sarada's grown up, and I'm in the village more often… Are you not happy about it?"

"I am, but you…"

"I am too."

Sakura cries even harder and he doesn't know if she's happy or she's sad.

He brushes her hair away from her face. "Why are you crying?"

She gives him a wet smile. "We're having a baby."

Haters are acting crude and ignorant these days. That's nothing new. Ikemoto's pushing the bait ship of Boruto & Sarada, doesn't help. They are since of the beginning not semicanon.

They still see each other as silbings. A friend of mine said, that shonen ships are easy to read, if you watch the girl's pov.

The heart and feelings of a girl won't change.

Let's see, how Sarada usually acts with boys, ( even the BSA's blushes are existing)

Sarada said in ch. 700, that she and Boruto are similiar. It makes sence to me. Both have the same descendants Ashura and Indra, Hagoromo Ootsuski. They're in a family way connected.

Sarada rejected Boruto more than ones, if someone asked about her feelings.

Sarada and Boruto have close bond now like Naruto and Sasuke had later in Naruto classic.

Her confirmation of silbing feelings will happen a 2nd time in the manga.

Next one, she doesn't act jealous around Boruto, if Sumire is involved.

And i believe, we only didn't get a girl speach between them, because Sumire believes her words in ch. 19 and doesn't see her as a rival. Of course you're allowed to hug someone, who's important to you without romantic feelings.

Kishi also put the most lovely connections between the silbing ships, especially between Sasuke and Itachi.

But that's Ikemoto's style to oversexualize his characters and we saw in one of the last chapters again, that Sarada doesn't seem jealous, when Sumire was deeply worried for B.

BUT we got a short glance from Kawaki to Sarada, who seemed worried for our future Hokage.

Next one Borumitsu:

Ikemoto put the strings together and worked all ships out, which happened from 1st to last.

1st Borumitsu

2nd Borusumi

3rd Kawasara.

We got a confirmation from B.'s side for Mitsuki after the BSA happened. We know from the beginning Mitsuki loves Boruto from the 1st glance. The same happened with Sakura for Sasuke.

Ikemoto destroys slowly every ship, which won’t become canon. So BSA won't become canon.

It doesn't look like it's romantic connected

Next one: we will get something for BoruSumi in the next months .

Last one will be KawaSara, but we get crumbs every chapter here and there. They're both connected through the topics Hokage, Shinobi life and their village. Sarada acts like a kind teacher to him. Surprisingly, she's the only one, who could reach him in this episode. Also Naruhina and SasuSaku had a romantic moment under the full moon.

Sarada doesn't still know, the hole truth about the happenings in ch. 66-68.

Eida manipaluted her, after she told her a part of the truth and hide a part of it, that Boruto wanted to kill his own father. Eida seperated them from each other.

Next Naruto:

Naruto is an important connection between them from the beginning. At the moment, Sarada gets the news, that he's alive. She will change her pov.

There are already little foreshadowings.

In opening 7, you have two versions of Kawaki's back. For a few episodes it's black, after Sarada puts her glasses off. Later it becomes light.

Means in the beginning she distrusts him, but at a certain point she will trust him again and their ship will develop further.

This will change after a time, if not it would be a plot hole.

The bottle lands squarely between Sakura and Sasuke. The group hoots, teases, and laughs before arguing among themselves who could give the most controversial question.

The newly minted couple glances at each other in awkward shyness that only comes after announcing their relationship to their friends. Well, arriving together at a house party is as close as announcing.

“Who’s your first kiss?!” Kiba shouts amidst the chaotic exchange. The uproar gets replaced with an incessant grumbling of complaints.

Choji slaps the back of his head. “Are you stupid?”

“Yeah, are you stupid?” Naruto repeats. “I am Sasuke’s first kiss!”

“I think that shouldn’t count,” Shikamaru counters. “It’s accidental.”

Sai raises a finger. “Technically, a kiss means to touch someone or something with the lips especially as a mark of affection or greeting.”

“Were you greeting Sasuke good morning back then, Naruto?” Tenten asks in absurdity.

“Shut up Tenten. I was telling him how stupid and moronic he is!”

“I just think you and Sasuke really need to tap into your unresolved issues,” Lee adds to the foray.

“I think you all should shut up,” Shino says, “because we don’t know whose Sakura was.”

The group quiets down for a few seconds which stretch into a minute as they wait for her response. Sakura quickly averts her gaze from Sasuke and exchanges glances with Ino. Her blonde best friend, her trusted confidante, her ride-and-die, refuses to meet her eyes. That. Bitch. Sakura clears her throat to buy some time.

“It’s just Sasuke, guys.” Hinata, beautiful Hinata, comes to her rescue.

Kiba rubs his palms together. “Ooh, what if it’s not?”

Sakura can feel the tips of her ears rise to the temperature. She clears her throat, louder this time, and reaches for the glass of water behind Sasuke. Her throat becomes even dryer. Her boyfriend is not even looking at her.

“I’m sensing we should let Sakura have her privacy,” Lee interjects. He dramatically moves sideways from Sasuke just to give her a big thumbs up. “You can skip this one, Sakura!”

“No fair, we answered all questions.” Kiba waves his arms around, a big gesture of displeasure. “Even Shino had to reply to who was his first kiss and it was a frigging insect.”

“I, personally, think it’s on brand.” Sasuke speaks for the first time. Shino leans across the circle and gives him a high five which the former doesn’t meet. “A hercules beetle though. Really?”

“Ino is being awfully quiet.” Shikamaru the nosy really had to point it out! “You know something.”

She shrugs and scoots closer to Sai to hug his arm. “I’m so sorry, Sakura. Please invoke Katsuyu if you’re feeling up to it.”

Tenten laughs. “So you really know something!”

Choji hands over bills to Kiba and Naruto, a surefire sign that they are betting. Shikamaru looks at Naruto, dumfounded. “How do you not know this?”

Sakura’s other blonde best friend just scratches his head. “I’m pretty sure Sakura told me this, but I, well, I forgot!”

“Dumbass.”

“What about we settle for a true or false if it helps.” Hinata offers a lifeboat. Not really. Sakura senses she will still sink all the same after this.

“So Sakura, is Sasuke your first kiss? True or false?”

She hazards a glance his way, and sure enough, he is staring. His palm under his chin, observing her and all her tells. Sasuke is excellent in guarding his most vulnerable expressions in public. He’s doing it right now, and she can’t read him. And she gets tremendously anxious, not knowing which way this could go.

She chooses honesty at the end of it.

It isn’t bad, Sakura surmises after they left the party. They’re walking back to her apartment, and he’s holding her hand. Loose but held all the same. They stop at the riverbank, and he lets go. She chases his fingers but sees his expression that freezes her cold.

“Kirigakure?” he repeats.

Sakura shouldn’t have hoped for the best. Of course, this is something Sasuke would fixate on. She would very much like to bury this in the past and move on, but goddamn it is tiring to explain the specifics which she firmly chose to leave out earlier. “Fine, since you’re so stubborn.” Yes, she sounds annoyed as hell. “It was a post battle gathering of sorts. It’s the kind of moment where we just stopped an invasion from an Akatsuki member. Later that month, they will come back and ultimately destroy the village we protected. But the Land of Water knows how to celebrate their victories. They live in the present. So there is lots of booze, lots of dancing. I didn’t have Tsunade-sama’s tolerance yet.

“So there’s this guy, like an anbu counterpart of ours. He tells me I saved his life on the field. He was so….in awe. Pupils super dilated, his full focus on you, no care in the world that goes on behind him. When you’re green and so adamant to prove yourself—to exist outside of wanting to look for you and bring you back—to prove that I can be strong and when I am strong, I can definitely bring you back, you tend to bask in this attention. It’s unreal, being showered with graces when I was always the ordinary one out of our team. We danced. We talked. We drank. We held hands. Then he asks if he could kiss me. I said yes.”

Sasuke stands still and takes all of these in. He doesn’t move closer to her nor does he offer his hand to wipe away tears that have fallen on her cheeks.

“Do you wanna know why I said yes?” Sakura fights back another batch that threatens to escape her eyes. “Because I miss you. Because I’m lonely. Because the war is tough and it takes everything out of you, most of the time, you only become a shell. And I’m so consumed by grief, by loss and the unknowing, and I miss you so much and I wonder if we could go back again to the way it was before. Because underneath those dim lights and the rowdy band music and the crowd that anyone could melt into, I could pretend I was dancing with you, holding my hand, and asking me if you could kiss me. So sorry if you are not my first kiss.”

“Are you done?” he simply asks.

Sakura nods. 

“I’m not angry.” He bridges the distance and gingerly wipes away the tear streaks. “I just wanted to know if that’s your preference.”

“Fuck you Sasuke,” Sakura laughs-sobs and lightly punches his chest. He pulls her in closer and inhales her shampoo, the fading summer in her hair, the smell of sake. “It is always, always a Konoha boy.”

“I’m not gonna wax poetic how I waited for you…let’s not count Naruto, okay,” he murmurs in her ear, “I couldn’t think of anything outside hate and anger back then. I was too busy trying to be the strongest, and most times, it made for dreamless nights. Funnily enough, despite all that, some came through.”

“Hmm?”

“A dream about you, in the Forest of Death. Somehow, in that version, I didn’t manage to get there on time, and you’re on the forest floor, asleep. You won’t wake up no matter what I do. Your breathing started to weaken, and I was shouting for Naruto, Kakashi, anyone, so that they could help me save you. It’s like an endless genjutsu. Then, I remembered the fairytale trick.”

“A true love’s kiss.” Sakura pulls away slightly to wander in his eyes. “Did I wake up?”

He smiles. “You did.” Only for her, he smiles.

“So you had a wet dream of me.”

Sasuke blushes beet red in the darkness. “That’s not—!”

“I’m just joking!” She laughs still, easing into his embrace, her ribs moving against his limbs.

His fingers trace her spine in the meantime. “I’d just like you to know, Sakura, that it doesn’t matter who the firsts were. Doesn’t matter at all.” He kisses her ear, her forehead, her now dry cheeks, her nose. “Let this one matter for both of us.”

She meets him halfway. A soft, lovely contact of lips, a mutual mark of affection. “Our second first kiss,” she jests in the aftermath.

He leans in again, captures her full on the mouth, a bit heavier. “Our third first kiss.”

And again in the next 200 meters. “Our fourth.” And again in the alley before her apartment. “Fifth.” and again in her house. “Sixth.” Again and again and again.

“Those were a lot of first kisses,” she says. “You’re never gonna stop?”

A promise. “Until the last.” And again.

People say that this scene reminded them of NS eps where Sakura hugged Naruto and Hinata watched them, but for me it gives me a déjà vu to Sasusaku hug scene in the hospital where Naruto just watched them instead, Sumire's expression was so similar to Naruto's when you compare them. I feel sorry for Sumire because it seems like Boruto only has his eyes for Sarada and it's always Borusara to begin with. Oh, MK sensei I see you..

You know I have to realise that one of the reasons why SasuSaku's dynamic is interpreted wrong is not only because of the unnecessary Sakura hate but also the lack of understanding for Sasuke's character, more specifically, his love language. It's easier to understand that Sakura cared for Sasuke, she's extremely expressive of her emotions. But with Sasuke, it's a different story. He's not good at expressing his emotions or verbalising them (which is understandable bc of his trauma), his love language is primarily ‘acts of service’. For example, what Sasuke SAID was Naruto is a ‘loser’ and ‘scaredy cat’ but what he DID was immediately risking his life when Haku was about to attack Naruto. think this is something which fans tend to forget about him often. He's a VERY show-dont-tell person. Sakura, in contrast, is good at expressing her feelings. Her love language also includes physical touch and words of affirmation. She can easily tell Sasuke she's in love with him or hug her when he wakes up from a coma. Which is probs majorly why so many fans feel their relationship is ‘one sided’ because of the clear difference between their love language.

I think THIS is exactly one of the main reasons why I saw SS becoming endgame. While Sasuke isn't fond of physical touch, he felt comfortable enough with Sakura to calm down at her touch, let her hug him, carve for her hand in the FOD, hold her, poke her forehead etc. Similarly, he's not the best at verbalising his feelings in words but he tried, again, the thank yous, the apology, cheering her up before the exam. This is something he doesn't do with anyone else. While I am sure Sasuke fell in love with her only after ch. 699, it's pretty clear he had a soft spot for her before leaving the village, which was evident from the way he had been with her, (which eventually turned into love after his redemption journey).

Yeah I agree, Sasuke's definitely the most misunderstood character in the story, and even in the few instances when he does actually verbalise his affection, they're always just glossed over by the fans. The amount of times that I've heard people say...

That he hates Sakura (despite never saying or implying that).

That he doesn't give a damn about her (despite indicating that she is one of his most precious people on multiple occasions).

That he constantly insulted her (despite never insulting her once).

That he was forced and guilt tripped into being in a relationship with her (as if anyone could ever force him to do something that he doesn't want to do).

That he allows himself to be in a loveless marriage (despite how canonically important love is to the Uchiha).

I honestly just don't think he was that difficult to read, especially when you give the Curse of Hatred the significance that it deserves.

Yep, Sasuke wasn't in love with Sakura during the main story, nor did he need to be, but the fact that he nonetheless held her (and Naruto) very close to his heart is undeniable.

He described her as a dear comrade.

He was ready to risk his life fending off Gaara so that Naruto could get her to safety.

He thought of her and Naruto when Kakashi referenced his precious companions.

He was reminded of her and the rest of Team 7 when Taka were sacrificing themselves for his sake.

He revealed how he saw the shadow of his family within her and the rest of Team 7. And when considering just how precious Sasuke's family was to him, those are big words indeed.

Your point about how he only tends to show direct verbal affection towards Sakura is also a significant one. One could say how he also apologised to Karin, but the difference between them is very clear.

That's why he says in front of everyone that she is the most analytical and talented on her team, to make her feel better. Sasuke also winks at her, and then he blushes and smiles seeing her happy again. He begins to prioritize the happiness and safety of his teammates.

(Same anon from before) I'm a bit hesitant to bring up the various ways that Sakura, as a medic ninja, could've gotten pregnant without Sasuke actually being involved voluntarily (as you pointed out via the Damien Wayne storyline; I legit forgot that that storyline existed), because I'm a victim of sexual assault; long story short: my most recent ex-boyfriend was abusive, and it's scared me off from relationships ever since. (Well, the isolation from COVID also hasn't helped either.)

I know some other anons and other Tumblr users have pointed out the now-infamous non-consensual hug from Ch57 (it actually happened in Ch56, but Sakura bragged about her true intentions to Ino in Ch57), and then her hugging him without his consent again in Ch172, and then her drugging her team in Ch482, and therefore those implications of what Sakura could have done to Sasuke to have Sarada (*IF* she is her biological mom) are horrifying AF. But again, because of what I went through, I don't want to think that even Sakura, whom I hate with a passion, would stoop so low as to doing something horrible to an unconscious Sasuke just to have Sarada and dangle her over Ino like a prize, being like "you snooze, you lose, Ino"

First of all I’m so sorry for your experience. I have two male friends that were also sexually assaulted (by girls) and one of them even saved me from suicide.

I know it’s hard to believe Sakura would do this but with my experience hearing stories from my male friends I know there are horrible women out there too who would go to any lengths to get what they think they’re entitled to.

There’s literally no other way to think about it, SasuSaku doesn’t make sense as a traditional romance because Sasuke fought tooth and nail to get away from Sakura and all of the abandonment after he left the village and after Sarada was born. Of course I have been warming up to Sasuke since I found out he is an INTJ like me.
