@ainurweek day 2
Curumo / The music of the Ainur
Since the begining Curumo has contemplated his role in the music. He had sung with Aule but the discord had swept him up in confusion until he could hear nothing else. Then in his desperation he joined in. He keeps this to himself. He tries to make sense of what it means for him to be marred like this and opposes Melkor even more fiercely. As he worries his thoughts take shapes of many colors.

Happy Pride day everyone!
Saruman calls himself Saruman of many colors, yet his coat never flashed any pride flag in particular… Then I decided to dye it of eight different flags for eight different sexualities.
This is rather specific and I only know about gays, trans, pans and bis, so I expect you to spill some hate/complaints on the reblogs or messages.
Hope you like it!

This is a Wander over Yonder post, but I immediately thought of Saruman of Many Colors, as he became known after joining Sauron.
He wasn't a hippy in any sense of the word. But whenever he comes up, I always end up imagining Sir Christopher Lee in a Tie Dye Cloak, playing Hacky Sack with the Palantir.
I am blanking what's the name of that guy? The evil guy who went hippie?

Anyone read Lord of the Rings and remember how Saruman went from Saruman the White to Saruman of the Many Colors because he started to manipulate each individual in specific ways that applied to just that person?
And his downfall was he tried to weave his web of lies and individually manipulate each person in the group from Helm's Deep, but his cunning words to Theoden made Wormtongue realize he was being lied to this whole time and he got so mad he stabbed Saruman in the back and threw him off the tower?
idk it's giving Kaboodle.

Do not apologize this is the funniest thing anyone has ever said to me
*touches your face softly with my long manicured wizard nails* you could not begin to comprehend the depths and depravity of my transsexualism

This is a significant week, calendar-wise, in the life (or, rather, the death) of Théodred, and so let me take this opportunity to point out the evidence for why he was clearly the best, wisest, and most effective ruler in Rohan at the time.
Most significantly, unlike his father, Théodred was never successfully manipulated by Wormtongue/Saruman. UT tells us that they explicitly TRIED, but he NEVER fell for Grima’s bad counsel and he NEVER took the bait to be turned against either his father or his cousin. The fact that Saruman essentially had Théodred murdered then (it was via battle, yes, but a battle that was fought only to achieve his death) shows that Saruman knew Théodred was incorruptible and that it was only a matter of time before Théodred unraveled the whole plot and wrested control of things away from Gríma. He was already acting “without orders” to oppose Saruman, after all. So Saruman’s only chance to succeed REQUIRED that he get Théodred off the board before that could happen, and he committed a truly absurd number of resources to get it done. Again, he sent THOUSANDS of troops just to ensure the death of one man — that means he viewed that one man as an EXISTENTIAL threat, which is just not how he felt about Théoden or Éomer or anyone else in Rohan.
No less important, though less discussed, is the fact that Théodred passes with flying colors on Tolkien’s #1 test for whether someone is a good and wise person: he trusts and supports Gandalf. In the drafts, when Gandalf first shows up in Edoras warning about Saruman, it’s Théodred who is favorable to Gandalf while Théoden (and Gríma, of course) is not. We see this over and over again in the story — the best and smartest people (Aragorn, Faramir, Frodo and Bilbo) trust in Gandalf while those who are corrupted (Denethor, Gríma) or just a little ignorant (many of the hobbits, people of Bree, etc.) view him as suspicious or even harmful. Théoden ends up on the right side of that eventually, but Théodred was there from the start (also a noted and consistent Gandalf supporter: Háma! ❤️)
Finally, just a minor note that is less about his role in the story and more about his personality and his view of the world… after Théoden has told Gandalf that he can take a horse from Rohan’s stables as long as he gets the hell out (at which point Gandalf selects Shadowfax), Théoden, urged on by Gríma, considers changing his mind and reneging on that offer. It is Théodred who tells him that he has to honor his word and that he should do so EVEN IF GANDALF WERE ONLY A BEGGAR. It doesn’t matter to Théodred in that instance whether Gandalf is powerful and important. It matters to him that a king keeps his word and treats even the poorest man in the kingdom equally to the strongest or most influential. Be still my heart…
Anyway. Prepare for lots of Théodred thoughts over the next few days!

How & Why Did Aulë’s Students Turn to Evil? (Sauron & Saruman) | Lord of the Rings Lore | The Broken Sword
Today, I look at one of the greatest teachers from the Legendarium of Tolkien's world, Aule, the Smith! Who were Aulë's students? What makes them different? Did he do something wrong? Were there others who were indirectly inspired by him?

In the book Saruman says that with the extra power of Sauron he won't be just Saruman the White, but the Saruman of Many Colors
I imagined him dressing like this, and I couldn't stop chuckling
