Hi everyone, Sarah here, hoping you’re having a fabulous week so far. Just a warning, long post alert 😁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did you know that when you support a small business you are supporting a big dream? Here’s mine.. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This has been my dream ever since I was a small tike. My beautiful mum taught me a lot of what I know and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy to get all the information, well because, when you are dealing with bespoke or couture clients you are making a garment to fit their body and most of the time it’s a no pattern situation. I started off handing her the pins, hand sewing and basing when I was about 6 or 7. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I started my business back in 2010, however, I still didn’t feel like I knew everything about the fashion industry in Australia let alone internationally, nor everything about fashion and couture in general. Even though I received a scholarship to study fashion when I finished high school back in 2001, I still didn’t believe I had what it takes, so I accepted a position to study business and marketing instead. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fast forward to 2012, I left my “career job” in marketing to pursue my dream. I obtained a position to study a Bachelor in Fashion Design and worked for some of the most prestigious designers in the Australian fashion industry all before graduation. My highest achievement was reaching Head of Product in my most recent position. I still was missing something, I craved something else, I wasn’t built to take orders, rather, I was here to create and be my own boss, an entrepreneur. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @SarahAssafCouture was finally born in the midst of a global pandemic 😷 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ THIS IS MY TIME.
