Dir auch einen schönen internationalen Tag der Muttersprache! Ich musste eben darüber nachdenken, dass der englische Ausdruck "it was dawning on him" wirklich eine schöne Metapher ist. Wir haben denselben Ausdruck im deutschen, und zwar "ihm dämmert es". Es bedeutet sogar genau das gleiche, aber irgendwie hat das Wort "dämmern" nicht so einen schönen Klang, weshalb es auf Englisch einfach poetischer klingt.
