Suzuki Mehran Tyres Best Pakistan Car
Today, we are thinking back about the public vehicle of Pakistan. The one that most Pakistanis have driven in their lives. The Suzuki Mehran Tyres too. It's the main vehicle of pretty much every Pakistani who moved from a 2-wheeler to a 4-wheeler. Mehran went to the country in 1989 and filled in as a section level vehicle for thirty years. The vehicle was ended in 2019 yet is as yet seen on the streets, everybody actually adores "the chief". We should get nostalgic and like the excellence of Mehran with this current proprietor's audit. Purchase and Price The owner purchased the brand new Suzuki Mehran VXR in 2011 for 5 lacs and 90 thousand rupees. The car came with company-fitted AC and CNG and maxxis tyres. At that time, the owner had two Hyundai Santro cars and added a new Suzuki Mehran to his collection because he needed a low maintenance and affordable 4-wheeler to drive on the rural roads. And, as we all know, the boss was born for the job.
Fuel Average
The proprietor disclosed to the Maxxis tyres that the vehicle has great mileage with a fuel normal of 14 kilometers for every liter in the city and right around 18 kilometers on a long course.
Parts Availability and Tires Maintenance
As indicated by the proprietor, the best time part about driving a Mehran is in effect free and free. Since regardless happens to the vehicle, you can undoubtedly discover its parts and, that as well, on modest rates.
In addition, you can likewise get vehicle upkeep administration with no problem at all. Any repairman in the nation will fix your Mehran on modest work. In the expressions of the proprietor, you can get an oil change administration for a limit of 2,200 rupees.
Pros and Cons of Suzuki Mehran
Pros
Affordable price
Easy parts availability
Low maintenance
Cashback resale
Maxxis Tyres Best for Suzuki Mehran
Cons
Fragile body
Lack of safety features
Poor AC system
Outdated brakes
Final Thoughts on Suzuki Mehran
In spite of the fact that Mehran is an outdated, unfashionable vehicle that you can't get with a zero meter since it has been for quite some time ended. Its pre-owned structure is as yet probably the most ideal alternative for a reasonable passage level car.

2019 Datsun Go, Go+ CVT review, test drive
Paired to a CVT gearbox, the Go and Go Plus are touted to offer a superior automatic driving experience to rivals. But can the Datsuns hold up to that promise?
What are they?
Japanese automaker Nissan gave new life to the Datsun nameplate in 2014 by relaunching it as a budget brand, starting with the Go hatchback, followed by the Go Plus 7-seater the following year. Although priced competitively, both models felt too basic and unappealing to the Indian public, and the brand failed to make a dent in the highly competitive entry-level segment.
However, Datsun and Datsun South Africa, and introduced a major facelift for the Go and Go Plus late last year that gave them a new lease on life. The update brought with it revised styling, better interiors and more equipment to improve the vehicles’ position amongst rivals. Safety features like dual airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, seatbelt reminder and rear parking sensors were also made standard. And earlier this year, the carmaker also introduced the option of Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) on the top-spec variants of the Go and Go Plus, making them the most affordable cars in the country with this feature.
What didn't change was the powertrain, with both cars being available with only a 68hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine and a manual gearbox. Now, however, the growing popularity of automatics has prompted the introduction of CVT auto variants.
With the 2018 facelift, the Datsun Go’s body structure was reinforced for better crash-test compliance, and with this update, the company claims to have bettered it, with structural reinforcements to the front, sides and the roof. Pedestrian protection has been improved as well, and these updates translate to a 40kg increase in kerb weight.
Apart from the new gear selector and the absence of a pedal, the interior hasn’t changed, but interestingly, there’s a new touchscreen unit. It’s still a 7.0-inch unit, but now has physical buttons for volume control and voice commands, making it more convenient to operate while on the go.
What are they like to drive?
While rivals in the Go’s segment (Tiago, WagonR, Celerio and Santro) make use of the more cost-effective AMT auto transmission, Datsun has opted for a CVT in its Datsun car range, which is generally a smoother and more premium offering. The closest rival for the Go Plus – its cousin, the Triber – is yet to get an automatic gearbox, but when it does, it'll likely be an AMT. Moreover, the 68hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine powering the manual variants has been uprated to 77hp for the CVT trims. So how does it all work?
The cars work well in slow-moving traffic, creeping off the line smoothly without accelerator input and setting off smartly once you do accelerate. With gentle, part-throttle inputs, the CVT makes for a smooth and progressive build of speed, which is significantly better than the inconsistent and jerky power delivery seen in the AMTs of rivals.
However, if you prod the accelerator even a bit harder, the gearbox starts to fumble. There is a sharp increase in revs without a corresponding rise in speed, and if you floor the throttle, the effect is far worse. This rubberband effect, which is more pronounced here than what you might find in more expensive CVT applications, means that executing quick overtaking manoeuvres requires some prudence. Moreover, since the engine revs without progress, the noise in the cabin becomes all too apparent.
While some CVT units provide the option of manually shifting between the predefined ‘steps’ of the transmission using the gear lever or paddleshifters, the Datsun gearbox isn’t one of them. Sport mode, which can be engaged by a button on the gear lever, does keep the engine on the boil, but the gain in performance isn’t that significant. Truth be told, you can’t really feel the 9hp bump in power in most situations either, as you’re not inclined to push this powertrain hard. Similarly, if you do extend the engine past 5,000rpm, you will find a bit more performance, but there are few situations in which you’ll find yourself doing so.
Official fuel economy for the CVT variants is rated at a respectable 20.07kpl for the Go and 19.41kpl for the larger Go Plus. The 40kg increase in kerb weight across all variants has also resulted in a slight drop in efficiency figures for the manuals, from 19.83kpl to 19.72kpl.
A light steering and compact dimensions make manoeuvring in tight spaces an easy task. The ride quality is a bit firm but decent for the most part. However, factors like a light build and an engine that runs out of steam at higher speeds blunt the Datsuns’ highway cruising abilities. And though improved compared to the original 2014 car, you can still hear a lot of noise from the road inside the cabin.
Should I buy one?
Datsun has launched the Go and Go Plus automatics only in the top two variants – T and T(O) – with prices starting at Rs 5.94 lakh and Rs 6.58 lakh, respectively. Consequently, the CVT trims get features like vehicle dynamic control (VDC) and touchscreen infotainment system as standard, with the range-topping T(O) getting the addition of diamond cut alloy wheels and LED DRLs.
At this price, the Go and Go Plus is the most-affordable CVTs in the market, undercutting the likes of the Nissan Micra, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and the Honda Jazz.
At this price point then, the Go CVT makes a strong case for itself by offering a more refined driving experience than most of its AMT equipped rivals – which include the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Hyundai Santro and Tata Tiago.
The budget offerings from the Japanese automaker have come a long way since they were first launched. With a frugal engine, automatic transmission, competitive price, reasonable space and comfort and decent levels of safety equipment, they come off as a more complete package now. If there wasn’t a compelling reason to buy the Datsuns earlier, perhaps this added convenience of a smooth automatic gearbox at an affordable price will change your mind.

The Santro joined our fleet a few months ago and has been my daily ride around the city.  However, I did get a chance to drive the vehicle for a longer distance, as I had to ferry an ailing relative every day, to a hospital around 50km away. This meant the Santro put in about a 100km or even more each day. While it may not be a lot, for me it was way over my usual 25km daily commute. Thankfully, the route included long highway stretches which gave me a chance to really explore the Santro’s 1.0-litre engine. Highways are best tackled at cruising speeds of about 70-80kph; try and drive it harder and it becomes quite noisy after about 3,000rpm.  The high-speed highway ride is comfortable and my co-passengers have had no complaints either.
These long drives also gave me a chance to play around with the infotainment system.  The Santro may be only the second car in the segment (first being the Kwid) to feature a touchscreen but the Hyundai’s infotainment system is miles ahead of one in the Renault. Firstly, the interface is slick and there is hardly any lag while switching between menus. The display is crisp but readability does get affected under harsh sunlight. The best bit, however, is the inclusion of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and I took complete advantage of this – from listening to music, accessing navigation and even having my messages read out, without having to touch my phone at all. As far as sound quality goes, the speakers do a decent job but they aren’t as good as the ones on the Tata Tigor or the Tiago (my previous ride). Another important feature is the display for the reverse camera, with guidelines; this does help when parking in tight spots.
Speaking of tight spots, I do deal with them on a regular basis, especially near my prayer hall – a journey for which I have a dedicated car, the Tata Nano. But thanks to the Santro’s small footprint, I didn’t feel the need to switch cars for those trips.
As far as fuel economy goes, the Santro is at a steady 11.5kpl, but it have given a higher 14.2kpl figure on longer highway runs. So far, I’m really enjoying these small-car benefits along with the big-car perks like the touchscreen.

Six categories. 14 different cars. The battle is on.

To kick off the New York International Auto Show, the World Car Finals will take place on April 17, kicking off the week-long event in style.
The finalists for this prestigious award have been announced, with the Jaguar I-PACE leading the way. The all-electric Jaguar is up for World Car of the Year, World Green Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year.
Each category features three cars vying for the top prize. The Jaguar is joined by the Suzuki Jimny and the Audi e-tron as the only cars to be up for multiple awards.
The New York International Auto Show, which will take place in the Javits Center from April 19 to 28, will feature thousands of cars. The journey to become a finalist in this competition, though, took quite some time.
The Road to World Car, as the group calls it, is a yearly journey that follows more than 80 journalists from across the globe. The nonprofit group test drives vehicles of all manufacturers prior to voting for the most prestious ones of all. It includes journalists from Asia, Europe and North America, with a goal of complementing, but doesn’t want to “compete with existing national and regional COTY awards, which are inherently different in scope.”
This competition is different from the regional ones, the body says, because of its choice of vehicles. Many of the finalists are not available in specific regions, making this award one of the top in the world for auto makers.
The Road to World Car began on Oct. 2, 2018 in Paris, culminating with the New York City finale in April.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Among the top luxury cars nominated for the top prize are the Audi A7 and Q8, along with the BMW 8 Series. Each of the Audi machines have a slick, luxury look to their exteriors. Both include a V6 engine and can go from zero to 60 mph. in less than six seconds.
“The all-new A7 offers the best of three worlds—the spaciousness of a sedan and versatility of a sportback, with the emotional design of a coupe,” an Audi statement said. “A minimal use of chrome on the exterior allows the A7’s distinctive body proportions to stand out.”
Overall, Audi has placed three of its vehicles in this year’s top ranking. The e-tron is up for World Car of the Year and the World Green Car of the Year, a combination that the I-PACE has also achieved.
But it’s the Jaguar I-PACE that’s been making the most noise in 2019.
“It’s an all-electric vehicle that’s absolutely gorgeous,” Tony Anton, general manager of Jaguar Freeport, said. “The battery is actually located on the floor of the car, giving the center of gravity of the car so low that it’s the most stable car I’ve ever driven in my life.”
The I-PACE goes from zero to 60 in 4.5 seconds, and it has a range of up to 234 miles before it needs to be recharged. While it is all-electric, it still provides consumers with the same ingenuity that Jaguar is known for.
Meanwhile, in the World Performance Car of the Year category, there are three cars you literally can only dream of. Each of the three cars are insane, inside and out, knocking your socks off—literally and figuratively.
From the Aston Martin Vantage to the McLaren 720S and the Mercedes-Benz AMG four-door coupe. They are literally racecars that are street legal. The price tags range from about $140,000 for the Mercedes-Benz to $150,000 for the Aston Marton and an stunning $288,000 for the McLaren.
Once the awards are announced for 2019, the manufacturers will keep on fighting for this title come 2020.
The “Top Three In The World” finalists for each category are:
World Car of the Year
Audi e-tron
Jaguar I-PACE
Volvo S60/V60
World Urban Car
Hyundai AH2 / Santro
Kia Soul
Suzuki Jimny
World Luxury Car
Audi A7
Audi Q8
BMW 8 Series

Aston Martin Vantage
McLaren 720S
Mercedes-Benz AMG 4-door Coupe
World Green Car
Audi e-tron
Hyundai Nexo
Jaguar I-PACE

Introduction
Maruti Wagon R is a name that is familiar and despite being around for many years, it still was selling well. Acknowledging that, Maruti went in with a clean sheet with the new Wagon R that you see here. This is a made for India Wagon R and Maruti invested close to Rs 700 cr for its development. The new Wagon R is bigger, is more powerful and has gone premium. Will it be as successful this time? We find out.
Looks
The new Wagon R has a new platform which is the same one that underpins all the hot selling new Maruti cars like the Swift and Baleno. That is a huge thing as it means the new Wagon R is now safer and has a better build quality plus more robust. It has grown in size with a length of 3655mm, width of 1620mm and height of 1675mm. Design wise too it is not boxy while still keeping the old Wagon R look. It is not plain any more. Look closer and see the nicely designed big headlamps connecting to the grille then see the wheel-arches and the floating roof too. The rear is still ‘tall boy’ but again better designed.
  Interiors
Here it is a big change. The design is better and it feels better build. The space first and here it is better than the earlier Wagon R. Due to the boxy looks, headroom is excellent plus even at the rear the shoulder room and legroom is very good however the flat seats means comfort is slightly compromised. The door pockets are bigger and good enough while storage is good. The design is better now and you see the Ignis like steering plus the 7inch touchscreen now has the new Maruti infotainment system (2nd new Maruti to get after the new Baleno). It looks better and is easier to use. The instrument cluster is pretty well designed and packs in all the info including a gear shift indicator.
  Features and safety
Maruti has given a decent feature list. It starts with the 7inch touchscreen which has smartphone, vehicle and cloud-based services. There is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay plus you can use your phone to access many entertainment functions. There is also steering controls, USB, 2 speakers, Bluetooth, Tilt adjustable steering wheel, Electrical retractable ORVMs. However there is no rear camera and the headrests are fixed.
In terms of safety it has Dual airbags while a Driver airbag, ABS (antilock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution), front seat belts reminder, speed alert system and rear parking sensors standard across variants.
  Driving
Maruti offers the Wagon R with two engine options. There is a 1.2l which is the new one and the earlier 1.0 petrol also continues. The new 1.2l petrol makes 83 bhp and 113Nm. Maruti also offers both the engines with the AMT gearbox while a 5-speed manual is standard. We drove the 1.2l petrol manual and AMT. The 1.2l certainly makes a big change.
The increased power makes the Wagon R feel quite quick. There is a lot more power and refinement now which makes it easier to drive. It feels smoother and more torque means it has a more relaxed drive. The manual is nice and light to use while the clutch is light as well. The manual Wagon R is the more fun one and the good amount of power and torque means constant downshifts are not required in traffic.
However we think the Wagon R is best in its AMT form. The AMT is now much improved from the earlier ones. In the city it is very smooth and with creep function along with updated changes, it feels as easy as a pure automatic. Only when you drive hard or want sudden accelerations that the AMT feels a bit slow. Yes it also has a ‘pause’ between shifts but it is not a huge problem anymore unlike previous AMT cars. Mileage for both the AMT and manual are same with 21.5 kmpl (real world 15-16 kmpl). The new Wagon R is a lot more stable now and has a better ride than the earlier one. Still is not a fun car like the Swift with its steering being very light which is a disadvantage in the highways.
  Which variant to buy?
A lot of the features like the touchscreen are only in the top-end ZXI trim. Maruti thankfully is offering the AMT in top-end trim. So if you want the features the top variant it is. The lower variants like the VXI are short on features but still have a decent amount. In terms of value the top-spec makes sense though if you are on a tighter on budget then the VXI is good enough.
Vs rivals?
There are many cars like the Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago and even Maruti’s own Celerio. We think the Wagon R is much better than the Celerio due to more space and having a modern AMT gearbox. The Santro has more features over the Wagon R and has a more stylish interior along with a smoother AMT but the Wagon R has more space and more efficiency. The Tiago feels like a bigger car and has more features too along with looking better but the Wagon R has the better AMT and more space- plus the better efficiency of course.
Colours
The all new 2019 Maruti Wagon R is launched in 6 vibrant color options namely – Poolside Blue, Nutmeg Brown, Magma Grey, Autumn Orange, Silky Silver and Superior White. Check the photos of all new Big Wagon R colours.
Verdict
Prices for the Wagon R start at Rs 4.3 lakh while the top-spec AMT 1.2 petrol is Rs 5.8 lakh ex-showroom. Compared to the earlier one, the new Wagon R is more expensive but you do get a lot. There is no point comparing to the earlier Wagon R as it is a completely different car. The new platform, new design along with a modern interior makes it a good value option. If you love driving, pay more and get the Swift. The Wagon R is different. The Wagon R is aimed at families looking for a practical and spacious hatch which is also efficient, easy to drive. In terms of that, it is job well done Maruti.
