The Tennessee 3 are going to be at the DNC tomorrow! One of them is my state rep and I voted for that man four fucking times thanks to republican fuckery. Gloria Johnson won the primary and will be challenging Marsha Blackburn! We can dream! She’s a former teacher too
Listen, if we are afforded the opportunity to get only one shocking Senate win in a red state, I can't decide if I want it to be Johnson beating Marsha Blackburn in TN, Colin Allred beating Ted Cruz in TX, or Debbie Murcasel-Powell beating Rick Scott in FL. The incumbent GOPers are all so hideous and any one of them losing would be incredible, so... yeah. I realize, I REALIZE, that Texas is the white whale for Democrats, but even if Harris can't quite win the state, the idea of nuking Cruz at long last?? Chefs kiss. Incredible.
Anyway, Day 3 in the books, can't wait for Day 4 tomorrow. I think the roof might actually, physically blow off when Kamala walks out to accept the nomination, and believe me, I am Ready.

I used ao3 briefly in 2020 for good omens before burning out on it but what are negative bookmarks?
The poll is talking about when you bookmark a fic and then leave negative comments about the fic in your notes on the bookmark. Like for example this is a screenshot of a bookmark someone left on one of my fics:
(This is nice to read and I have no problem with it, to be clear.)
Apparently though sometimes readers will use bookmarks more like goodreads reviews and might leave something fairly negative, like "too long, OOC, bad ending", which obviously might hurt the author's feelings. If you want to use bookmarks like that, you can(/should, IMO) mark the bookmark as private, and the author will not see your negative remarks.
Personally my bookmarks on ao3 are like my hall of fame for my fave fics so I don't get why anyone bothers to bookmark stuff they don't like lol. But at least make it private.

I love this bracket and I really hope it escapes containment and we see other regional food contests. I also hope it doesn’t escape containment so you don’t have to see dumbass comments but it would still be cool to see a british person do their food. The notes are so fun, we’re all so passionate.
Boiled peanuts fans are talking to each other like WWI soldiers dying in foxholes right now

@santhipoma great question!
Each medal has a unique cropped section of this artwork by Kwakwaka'wakw/Tlingit artist Corine Hunt:
This picture of multiple medals makes it a little more clear I think:
Here's an interesting article that talks a little more about it: https://olympicfanatic.wordpress.com/2010/02/05/vanouvers-thoughtful-designs-for-its-medals/
#also if you're trying to find the places those medals in the picture are cropped from: the colors look reversed#the light parts on the medals are the black lines and shapes#not a poll

@santhipoma replied to your post “but seriously is there a tv show you watch and...”:
Riverdale and Ghosts. I am mature
honestly riverdale is the perfect answer like there is nothing more “joy of TV” than Riverdale to me. It doesn’t eschew what came before it. It honors its format. there are too many episodes of it.

"Due to their belief in God's kingdom as the only legitimate form of governance, Jehovah's Witnesses do not participate in political activities, such as voting in elections. They refrain from saluting the flag of any country or singing nationalistic songs, which they believe are forms of worship."
yeah apparently JWs don't vote for religious reasons. Which is actually interesting that some of them ARE tuned in enough to politics to express a party affiliation. I wonder if some are secretly voting?
I'm also intrigued that Seventh-Day Adventists lean Democrat, because they're very socially conservative. That being said, it's also a very racially diverse denomination and every Adventist I've ever personally met has been black, so it might just that they lean Democrat because people of color generally do.
re: mormon republican leanings I was looking at this very interesting pew research center poll from 2014 (ie pre-trump but still relevant in light of any potential voting shifts) which indicates that lds people are the most heavily republican-leaning single religious denomination (although this poll doesn't show that, they still are less likely to consider themselves republican than white evangelical protestants as a whole, but this poll only looks at specific denominations under the evangelical umbrella)
honestly, a lot of these results are interesting but not exactly surprising, but the one thing that really jumped out at me was how overwhelmingly non-party-aligned Jehovah's Witnesses are, while no other group even begins to come close to that. I don't know enough about JWs to really provide a concrete speculation at why that is--perhaps they are distrustful of non-religious group affiliations or the party process in general? (Also, what do their voting records look like? Are they saying they're independent but much more likely to vote with either side? Are they more likely not to vote at all?)

Medicare question - I know medicaid is limited to the state you’re in (couldn’t use WV medicaid to get prescriptions in TN) but is medicare state bound?
Generally speaking, no, Medicare isn’t state-bound - if you live in Trempealeau, Wisconsin but the doctor you want to see is over in Winona, Minnesota that border isn’t going to be much of an issue since you’ll be under the same Medicare Administrative Contractor (CMS has a number of different companies they contract with to handle the medical claims and billing for Medicare services, and each company is given a specific geographic area they cover)
If you live in Lansing, Michigan but decide you want to be a snowbird and spend the winters in Coral Gables, Florida, that’s not going to prevent you from using your Medicare coverage, but you would need to designate one of them as your primary state of residence (where you vote, file taxes, have your license/ID, etc.) and find a doctor who accepts Medicare. You might have issues with your Medicare Supplement/Part C plan, or if you have a Medicare Advantage plan, because the states do differ there with benefits/coverages, premiums (this is probably the biggest thing), and enrollments. And with Medicare Advantage, they’re like any other private insurance so if you don’t use a doctor in your Advantage plan network, you foot the full bill.
(Medicare Supplement is also called Medigap, and CMS requires those plans basically be identical and are national, so stuff should be the same there, for the most part, regardless of location. The difference between Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement/Medigap is that Supplement/Medigap *only* covers/picks up whatever your primary Medicare doesn’t, while with Advantage you basically have an insurer administer/provide your Medicare, and maybe have some extra/additional benefits. One is an addition to your Medicare coverage, one basically replaces it.)
Part D isn’t as much of a concern, because those are usually national or have big networks and lots of provider options as it is, although it depends on if you have Advantage or if you just have Original Medicare (Parts A and B) and maybe a Medicare Supplement/Medigap (Part C)
If you move from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Louisville, Kentucky and make that your new residence, with no half-time visiting, all you really need to do is update your address and some other information with the Social Security Administration, but if you have a Medicare Advantage plan you’ll likely need to find a new one, or at the very least expect a lot of change since those vary so much based on state. If you have a Medicare Supplement, that should basically be the same - again, unless the new states has different requirements or periods for it (but the coverage really shouldn’t see too many issues or changes).

So which characters in the new stand have been done right? I haven’t seen much about Stu in the tag, is he okay?
That’s kind of the problem. What characters?? Except for Harold, no one else is really fleshed out. Nadine, maybe, but not in a way I like all that much.
I love James Marsden and he’s a great Stu, but literally every single actor (except Owen Teague and Amber Heard, and Eric Northman to a lesser extent) is completely wasted.
The actors all seem to be doing their best with what little they’ve been given, but it’s incredibly frustrating.
ETA: all they’ve really done with Stu is make him head honcho without showing any of the nobility and goodness that made him the hero of the book. He’s a good guy of course but like 🤷🏻♀️ he’s just some guy. With spectacular cheekbones and beautiful blue eyes.

Lost Fic Post #2
1. Uh, hrm, well, Hello. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) So, I lost a fic rec list, with soulmates fics, and unfortunately, one of them seemed really nice. From description I was only able to catch that part. A/C doesn't know their soulmates, there's a lot of pinning, and soulmarks are located on their necks, and they didn't seen it before (Not sure about the last part). And they're determined to find soulmate of another. Maybe you can help me find this? It would be tickety boo (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:·゚✧ ~ @thaliatheopalcat
2. I’m looking for a somewhat silly fic where aziraphale’s sappy writings are published - considered anonymous writings found in an italian monastery maybe. It was very silly and sweet and i can’t find it! ~ @santhipoma
3. Hey, hoping you all can help me find a fic I lost. It involves Aziraphale using Victorian slang to insult Gabriel after the latter tells him he'll Fall if he doesn't end his relationship with Crowley. It's definitely Post-Armegeddin't. ~anon
4. hey i read a fic some time ago but i cant find it i even scrolled through my history but not a chance. i don't remember much of the plot but it was mainly about Crowley turning up @ Zira's with cuffed pants so his ankles were visible cause that's his subtle way of flirting ?? and i think they went to the Ritz later and Crowley ordered for him? PLEASE i'm going insane ~ @spookymishka
5. Hey! I’m looking for a fic based off of a tumblr post where Aziraphale files his and Crowley’s taxes under the “Married” status (or something like that). Do you happen to know where that is? Thanks so much! I love your blog! ~anon
If you know one of these fics, make sure to mark the number in your response so that it can be identified!

I thought canada was better than us. Your government’s have decided it’s been long enough?
Kinda like how each state does its own thing, each province here is calling the shots on stuff like restaurants reopening and so on.
Mine in particular, and my city, the case count is fairly low now and has been trending down and we’re in “phase 2″ which is including things like outdoor gatherings of up to 10, restaurant patios can open (but no indoor seating) with reduced capacity, uh stuff like that. We’re not full-on reopen yet and we don’t have indoor seating for venues and stuff, so it’s not quite like what you’re seeing in some of the states. The harder-hit regions of our province are also not in “phase 2″ yet... although like... nothin’ stopping people from those areas driving into the “reopened’ areas to go do all the stuff they can’t at home, so.
But also since we just started “phase 2″ recently I am anticipating our numbers will start to rise again as people start interacting more and more. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It sucks! I should may have anticipated, but did not, that I am finding the “exit quarantine” part a lot more emotionally complicated than entering quarantine was.
