For Mermay, I used Inkscribble’s incredible avatar maker on Dolldivine to make my 6 OC’s : Sansan children (I ADORE mermaid/merman Sansan au)
Here they are all ! Im gonna get into who they are individually just for fun.
The eldest is Elinor, or Elie. She’s named after Sandor’s sister, and she’s her father’s daughter : same long jet black hair, same narrow grey eyes, same nose. She’s very tall and very muscular just like him (couldn’t translate that well with the maker), and has his cynical wit. Being the eldest, and given her parents respective trauma, she feels strongly responsible for all of her siblings and takes a lot upon her shoulders. She wears the Clegane colors with pride and will get viciously violent for her family without hesitation. She has a complicated relationship with her mother because of that violence, mostly because Sansa fears for her and is a bit jealous of how close Elinor and her aunt Arya are. Arya gifted her a direwolf pup that she named Steel. Elinor is a fighter, and will eventually get married to Aemon Steelsong, Mance Ryder’s son.
Three years younger than her, her brother Eddord is the heir to Winterfell. He has the stature of his father, along his long black hair, but the eys of his mother, large and Tully blue. He does not enjoy fighting as much as some of his siblings, but his height and strengh makes him naturally good at it. He’s very charming, funny and kind. He has a way with people that he takes after his mother, with whom he’s very close. The North is his home and he takes great pride in taking care of its people. He’s adored by many, including his youngest siblings who admire him a great deal. He’s also quite close to Elinor, with whom he enjoys hunting, and he helps her communicate with Sansa. He wears the grey and the white of the Starks, the side of the family he feels the most connected to. Arya gave him one of Nymeria’s pup, that he named North.
Next comes Aryon, one year younger than Eddord. Of all Sansan children, he’s the one that has the most Northern look : long face, almond grey eyes, dark brown hair that he wears long and braided. Aryon has a quiet temperament : he’s not shy, but rather observe than recklessy act. After Elinor, he is the best fighter of the siblings, and the best rider of them all : he’s more deadly riding his horse than anyone, and is fascinated by the Dothraki culture from which he wishes to learn. Because of his connexion to horses, he doesn’t spend as much times as his siblings with his wolf, Coldtooth, that he let roam freely. Discreet and reliable, he gets along best with his brother Eddord, and Sansa often compares them to the sun and the moon. He admires his older sister Elinor a lot and helps her take care of their younger siblings.
Two years Aryon’s junior comes Jonquil, Sansan second daughter. She is renommed for her beauty, rummored to rival her mother’s. She has long luxurious black hair and bright blue eyes, with a lovely face that blushes easily. She looks very kind and perhaps light-headed, but is in reality quite stubborn and pushy. Arya says she’s the spitting image of Sansa before King’s Landing. Jonquil is very clever and loves to take care of her appearance : she mostly wears her grandmother’s Tully colors, with lots of dark blue and dark red, flowy fabrics and silvers jewels. She has her father sharp tongue and isn’t afraid to use it, even to be mean. She used to be very close to Elinor, but didn’t understood why Elinor would get into arguments with their mother. Just like her parents, she’s a romantic at her core and is enchanted by love songs.
Finally, four years younger than Jonquil, and ten years younger than Elinor, comes the twins : Bael and Catya. They are the spitting image of Sansa, with bright red hair and large tully blue eyes. Bael is the eldest of the two, and just like the King he was named after, enjoys writing and singing songs. He is very close to his father and to his uncle Rickon, whose first child was born the same day. Bael is a dreamer, a poet. He is kind and very funny, very imaginative. He his the most curious of the sibilings about his parents story, and will write several songs at a young age about his late uncle Robb battles, fascinated by him. Bael is very very protective of his twin sister Catya.
Catya is the sweetest, most soft-spoken child Sansa and Sandor would have, and also, the last. Juste like her brother, she has long red hair and bright blue eyes. She’s a very delicate and very fragile child, and never spoke a word : she was born mute. Sandor, Sansa and their other children invented a sign language to help her communicate. Quite soon, it became obvious she was blessed with the green sight, and had to learn how to navigate her gift with the help of her uncle Bran, with whom she grew very close to. She adores all of her siblings, and is as protective of them in her own manner, as they are of her. She dresses in a lot of white and red, just like the Godswood she spends so much of her time in.
idk how to explain why I used a mermaid avatar maker to illustrate my OCs but it's Mermay and Inkscribble’s work is undefeated, I absolutely adore it.
anyway bye happy Mermay my Sansan people, full love <3

1) Sandor threw Sansa on a bed, held a knife to her throat and demanded she sing for him.
““Sing, little bird. Sing for your little life.”...Her throat was dry and tight with fear, and every song she had ever known had fled from her mind. Please don’t kill me, she wanted to scream, please don’t. She could feel him twisting the point, pushing it into her throat, and she almost closed her eyes again, but then she remembered.”
He’s a grown man and she’s a child.
Tyrion had Sansa strip naked on their wedding night and he molested her.
““Get in the bed Sansa. We need to do our duty.” She climbed onto the featherbed, conscious of his stare. A scented beeswax candle burned on the bedside table and rose petals had been strewn between the sheets. She had started to pull up a blanket to cover herself when she heard him say, ‘No’
The cold made her shiver, but she obeyed. Her eyes closed, and she waited. After a moment she heard the sound of her husband pulling off his boots, and the rustle of clothing as he undressed himself. When he hopped up on the bed and put his hand on her breast, Sansa could not help but shudder. She lay with her eyes closed, every muscle tense, dreading what might come next. Would he touch her again? Kiss her? Should she open her legs for him now? She did not know what was expected of her.”
He’s a grown man and she’s a child.
2) A 16 year old girl with a man in his thirties isn’t better. Most of the functional, semi healthy relationships we see in the series do not have these age gaps. GRRM might have done that for a reason. Some kind of commentary on the abuse of power dynamics between adults and children maybe.
3) “yeah all the pretty guys you thought were great are also horrid people inside'”
So the solution is to pair Sansa with a grown men who is ugly on the inside and the outside? That doesn’t make sense to me.
4 What I read was Sansa blocking out and rewriting a traumatic memory so that it’s easier to deal with, which she’s done for most of the books. I would judge the situation based on how she felt in the situation. And if you think this:
““Who?” she said, too frightened to defy him.”
““I can’t,” she said. “Let me go, you’re scaring me.””
“He was too strong to fight. She closed her eyes, wanting it to be over, but nothing happened.”
is attraction than idk what to tell you.
I hope that whoever Sansa ends up with, it’s a man she freely chooses to marry and sing for.
I also saw you mention jonsa in the tags, which is weird since I never mentioned them and don’t ship them.
@starrology101 Sansa’s going to end up with two grown men who assaulted and harassed her because they’re ugly?
I'm just
not counting this was in reply to a post I wrote in 2021 and like... it's been two years whatever but not counting that if you read it you missed like the entire point and I'm not gonna get into it again but like
nor tyrion nor sandor have ever assaulted or harassed her, like sandor lit saved her from a mob and didn't beat her when joffrey ordered it, tyrion actually tried to stop that and after he was also forced to marry her by his father (when he absolutely did not want to either but hey that wedding was apparently coercitive just on one side??) he made a point of not having sex with her when technically it was within his rights so like........ dunno where you got that notion but that shit didn't happen in either books nor show so idk what to tell you
blackwater being assault is like..................... if you see it like that you can but he absolutely didn't do anything to her, he was drunk, he left and she thinks he kissed her when that never happened so like again everyone is free to be as uncomfortable with blackwater as they wish and I absolutely will not be the person saying you have to find it romantic or suck it up or whatever but it was meant for it to be what makes sandor want to get better and she romanticized the shit out of it after make out of that what you will
'two grown men' tyrion in the books is 24 and sandor is like 27 and no way sansa gets with either of them before wow which means she'll be at least 16 which makes it an entirely reasonable age gap within westeros customs and norms like lit no one thinks sansa should have been with either of them in the actual canon so you do you
'because they're ugly' my pal idk how to explain it anymore when it's obvious in the text but grrm has a thing for beauty and beast narratives, the entire point of that trope is that one of the two isn't stereotypically good looking and certainly that ain't sansa out of whoever else it is and sansa in the beginning thinks marrying a pretty guy is the bee's knees and then the narrative goes like 'yeah all the pretty guys you thought were great are also horrid people inside' and in this kind of narrative the point is realizing that what you thought was a+ in the beginning isn't what you actually want/need so yeah two **ugly** guys that everyone treats like shit because they're not standard attractive and have trauma and so on will be more likely endgame options for sansa's bc her entire shtick is falling in love with someone who's **ugly** outside and not so much inside which neither sandor or tyrion are so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
idk if you read the books but all of sansa's asos chapters + affc ones are her basically thirsting after sandor and convincing herself he kissed her first so she can like tell herself a narrative where *she* picked the guy who was her first kiss and so on when everyone else is basically exploiting her and fucking littelfinger took that like............ that's basic romance novel 101 idk what to tell you take it up with grrm not me
tldr: sandor or tyrion (not both) are the only two characters that are viable for sansa as love interests looking objectively at the narrative, you don't like that go take it up with grrm but I can 100% assure you that either of them is way more likely than the guy she thinks is her brother and is the only one of her siblings she wasn't close to while she was the only one of his siblings she wasn't close to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
#anti sansan#anti sanrion#anti sansa and creepy old men who are attracted to children#it’s cool if you ship it but the reasons just don’t make sense#it seems like you want GRRM to punish sansa for being an 11 year old girl#attracted to cute guys and believing in the halo affect#sansa’s learning and groaning so much beyond ‘ugly men good & cute men bad’#sansa stark

You all remember this scene, when Sansa begs for her father's life, and just as they are chopping Ned's head off, Sansa Stark passes out.... I'm starting to wonder if some type of magic was at play here. Some type of "Warging magic?" Where did Sansa go? Where did Ned go? Sansa have other dreams and blackouts too. Many "Sansa Haters" blame her behavior on trauma, and sure, there is some trauma but something else is also at play concerning Sansa. They also love to say she has absolutely ZERO magic because she got her wolf killed and she is no longer a Stark.
I say there is waayyyy more to Sansa Stark than meet the eye. Martin says that ALL the Stark children are WARGS. Sansa even visits the underworld (or the world of Ghost, Jon's direwolf) when she is in the Vale. She remembers a kiss that we all know never happened and "SanSan shippers" say it's foreshadowing for the "false beast" Sandor Clegane. (WHATEVERRR) I say it's Jon Snow (real BEAST) and this kiss is something Sansa has already seen in the future. Jon's face isn't burned, but we all know how bad that eagle clawed one side of his face and I'm not talking about Kit Harington's cute little scar. The books describe it much more intense and a bit gruesome.
Sansa Stark has seen her children too. Her boys (whom she named) and the girl specifically that looks like Arya. Arya looks like Jon, so Yes.... Sansa is definitely a warg and possibly have greendreams.

Fans were squeaked out by Arya(11) getting molested by Raff and cheered her when she killed him. They were angry when Jorah misbehaved with Dany(14-15) and were applauding her when she slapped him. But these fans will suddenly become blind to Sansa(11-12) abuse by grown up men and romanticised the relationship. Infact they get angry why Sansa didn't love pedos and give them what they wanted. Some fans even notice that book Dany-Drogo is not healthy yet they ship Sansan.
Your observation makes it sound like fans believe condemning sexual assault is conditional on the girl being assaulted.
Far be it from me to say anything nice about Jorah, but I have to say, in comparison to how the Hound interacts with Sansa, he’s written as far less threatening. Not that he isn’t a creep, but if we're talking abusive POS here, I have no idea why he's more easily identifiable than the Hound? The man who constantly intidimates, insults, and threatens Sansa? We specifically mention the assault when talking about the Hound, but from the get go, he talks about how he kills women and children, and he places his sword to Sansa's neck...he's abhorrent all the way through.
I know his fans believe he wouldn't act on any of it, I've seen them talk about him as a dog that's all bark no bite, but in their last interaction, he did. He intended to rape her, so I think there's an underlying disregard for Sansa's position, the terror of her experience in KL, that even those who help her threaten her, that the fans keep minimizing. We are meant to worry for her, not defend her abusers. We're meant to be outraged that the people who should protect her, fail her. Horrifying that the fandom simply won’t do it.

Now that I know that you like ASOIAF, I feel the need to ask this before my head bursts open.
What are your thoughts on the SanSan ship?
I think the obvious; it's horrifying and it shouldn't exist. But you never know who supports it in this fandom, it's way too normalized.
That's Sansa and Sandor? Considering it's between a traumatized 13 year old girl and a fully grown violent murderer I'm gonna say extremely fuckin disgusting yeah!!!! There's a reason I have the lightest of engagement with the fandom outside of like, the three shitposters I follow on Tumblr and Alt Shift X. I know they're The Incest And Fucked Up Relationship Books and everything but I think that maybe perhaps they are saying that is not A Good Thing actually, and I have no desire to engage with anyone who thinks any of it is. No I do not /ship/ any of the siblings or half siblings or adults and children.
Frankly ASOIAF is like one of the least shippable series I've been into. I'm much more interested in everything outside of that. I ship Jon and getting a fucking break.

Sansa and Bran were abused and almost killed by Hound and Jaime. They were so traumatized that they had nightmares. Yet certain fans(Sansan&Braime) want these kids to forget them and make them their ally or love interest.
I mean, fans are free and welcome to want what they want.
I personally just don't think it's very likely to be where GRRM is taking these characters in canon.
I doubt he gave us Gregor Clegane screaming away the last days of his life in absolute agony only to be turned into a zombie "doll knight" (like the kind he disfigured Sandor for) in order to set the stage for a different group of (almost) child killers who also don't actually regret anything to get a happy ending recognciled with their victims, or a sanitized romantic conclusion to their attempted sexual assault on a preteen.
Jaime is unlikely to ever meet Bran again. He lost his hand, in a move that was as casual to Zollo as throwing Bran was to Jaime. His story is with Catelyn now, and it is with Cersei and his own doomed children. If Brienne intersects with Bran and the other Starks down the line, it's unlikely to be with Jaime in tow. Her story didn't begin with him, and it won't end with him, either.
If Sandor emerges from his little cocoon of atonement, it's unlikely to be for a happier reward. The Elder Brother served in silence for ten years before even speaking again, and Sandor is supposed to spend a gap year shoveling dirt and it's bygones? Hardly.

One of my biggest gripes with the fandom rn is how quick team black are to sexualise Jace in s1, where the actor was a minor while filming. It’s so weird how there a cognitive dissonance with how people (rightfully) talk about how wrong it is to sexualise Luke then they’ll turn around and attach a photo of season one jace with the horniest caption known to man. like he’s a adult now (and looks great tbf) but stop the horny posting about his child self!!! Idk it’s just very weird and rubs me the wrong way and I needed to rant sorry lol 😭😭
Oh dear.
This is after all the same fandom that brought us Sansan, Petsa, Daemyra, Rhaelya, Lucemond, Sanrion... What I'm saying is, this fandom has a bit of a problem remembering that many of these characters are children.

Favorite crackship from GOT? And favorite crackship from HOTD?
Sansan(should’ve been canon) for GOT. Lol season 2 has not aired yet, but Gwayne and Rhaena (Rhaeyne ?) for HOTD.
Ryan Condal, forget about the loser Cornbread Corbray, combine Gwayne with Garmund(these men literally have the same name), and make this ship canon. I mean Gwayne allegedly has children in this so he’s already like the useless flop and he and Garmund ate both Hightowers so really why wouldn’t you do this? What do you have to lose🤷🏽♀️

Or sansan, she have the same red hair grey eye children , with him, cuzjonsa and sansan babies would look exactly the same, and Clegane is brave gentle and strong, has the northern look, and would give up his last ame, so stark name survives, and sandor lost his eye in battle with his brother, and another possible husband for sansa is Tyrion Targaryen, mad king son with Johanna

I am going into an ovulation-induced GoT spiral and I have many thoughts on SanSan fic that I didn't have four days ago, mainly:
the children on AO3 are terrible at writing dialogue (evergreen)
the Hound isn't even hard to write for so it's really surprising how OOC some of this shit is
how DARE you say the Hound has a taut, flat stomach, let alone abs? You said that shit to my face? Have any of you seen a muscular man outside of Marvel movies? They're THICK and if they're not dehydrated and starved they've got a healthy layer of protective fat because that is what stomachs are for, to provide a little cushion between your very sensitive organs and things that want to puncture them. Plus he drinks a lot, those calories end up somewhere. Please sexualize that old man correctly. The sooner you learn that it's OK to be attracted to fat men the happier you'll be because a whole wide world of possibility of attraction is going to open up to you.

To Sansan
(The night before our Engagement Day)
Dear Bap,
I don't think I have the time (and courage) to write you an actual letter karena takut nangis. So here's an alternative way for fulfilling my promise to you. Dari pertama ketemu ental kenapa aku merasa kita udah kenal bertahun-tahun lamanya. Being with you feels.. right. You're the person I wished for since a loooooong time ago; di rooftop mall malioboro:
"Tuhan, nanti kalo ketemu sama orang please yang bikin aku merasa paling disayang ya?"
And there you are.
I want to spend the rest of my life with you
So this is why I genuinely can't wait to have you as my husband, a father to my children, and my friend of a lifetime. Semoga kita jodoh untuk waktu yang lama ya, Bap?
Love you!
Sampai ketemu besok pagi

I have seen different takes of Sansan and how they react to the Hound abusing Sansa. Those who believe that Sansa deserves to be punished and marry Hound are actually Sansa antis. Some believe that what Hound was doing is teaching her life truth and because of him Sansa learns humility. Then there are fans who knew Sansa is a good girl and Hound did abuse her but they think Sansa could redeem him and he will be her knight. All of them are doing injustice to Sansa.
It is a great injustice to Sansa to downplay her fear and minimize the very real threat the Hound was.
Sansa hugged herself, suddenly cold. "Why are you always so hateful? I was thanking you . . ."
"Just as if I was one of those true knights you love so well, yes. What do you think a knight is for, girl? You think it's all taking favors from ladies and looking fine in gold plate? Knights are for killing." He laid the edge of his longsword against her neck, just under her ear. Sansa could feel the sharpness of the steel. "I killed my first man at twelve. I've lost count of how many I've killed since then. High lords with old names, fat rich men dressed in velvet, knights puffed up like bladders with their honors, yes, and women and children too—they're all meat, and I'm the butcher. Let them have their lands and their gods and their gold. Let them have their sers." Sandor Clegane spat at her feet to show what he thought of that. "So long as I have this," he said, lifting the sword from her throat, "there's no man on earth I need fear." (ACOK, Sansa IV)
Let’s not minimize what he’s doing here. He assures her, he kills women and children, while his sword is pressed against her skin. The Hound's casual violence, consistent threats, aren't erased just because he didn't want others to rape her. In the end, he attempted to do so himself which means all of these instances where he intimidated her need to be accepted as what they are—not rewritten as if he didn’t mean them. He did have that potential all along, and it’s a horrifying dynamic as a result.
I understand AUs change the dynamics and ages, but in canon, so much of the interaction is the Hound being cruel and terrifying Sansa, there is nothing enjoyable for me there. Also, it's a pattern that he saves her and then threatens her, so rewriting the assault as something else isn't a fair reading. We were told from the beginning he might protect her from other threats, but he was always a threat as well.
The silence went on and on, so long that she began to grow afraid once more, but she was afraid for him now, not for herself. She found his massive shoulder with her hand. "He was no true knight," she whispered to him.
The Hound threw back his head and roared. Sansa stumbled back, away from him, but he caught her arm. "No," he growled at her, "no, little bird, he was no true knight."
The rest of the way into the city, Sandor Clegane said not a word. He led her to where the carts were waiting, told a driver to take them back to the Red Keep, and climbed in after her. They rode in silence through the King's Gate and up torchlit city streets. He opened the postern door and led her into the castle, his burned face twitching and his eyes brooding, and he was one step behind her as they climbed the tower stairs. He took her safe all the way to the corridor outside her bedchamber.
"Thank you, my lord," Sansa said meekly.
The Hound caught her by the arm and leaned close. "The things I told you tonight," he said, his voice sounding even rougher than usual. "If you ever tell Joffrey … your sister, your father … any of them …"
"I won't," Sansa whispered. "I promise."
It was not enough. "If you ever tell anyone," he finished, "I'll kill you." (AGOT, Sansa II)
We do not need to allow Martin’s skill at getting us to see someone’s humanity erase what Sansa suffers at this man’s hands. Her pity doesn’t negate his threats.
