period pain
OPLA!Zoro x F!Reader
A/N: This is the Zoro period one-shot I mentioned in my previous post.
"Luffy, if you take a single thing off my plate I will stuff you in a fucking blender."
An inhuman growl left your lips as you shot a withering glare at your captain, pulling your plate closer to you. The younger boy looked taken aback by your threat, his hand retracting slowly in slight fear. Usopp and Sanji stared at you with their jaws dropped, Zoro raised an eyebrow, and Nami looked unfazed.
"What are you guys looking at?" You snapped, turning your glare on the rest of them.
They all looked away, mumbling apologies, except Zoro. You rolled your eyes, grumbling something about him being so stubborn and tough. He would have said something about it, but his feelings for you stopped him. He's seen you angry, but this was something else. And he'd rather not risk saying something regrettable to you while you were clearly bothered by something.
"(Name), can you please..." Usopp gulped, "Pass me the salt."
You practically threw the salt shaker in the poor guy's hands, your deathly glare not leaving your face. You ate your food aggressively, attacking it like it was the reason for your anger. The rest of the crew sat in silence, even Luffy not wanting to aggravate you more - and that was saying a lot. Nami was trying her hardest not to laugh, which confused the boys, who didn't understand why such a situation would be funny. But she knew what it was.
"You guys are idiots," she snorted when you'd left the table.
"And why's that?" Zoro asked, folding his arms over his chest. "Do you know what's wrong?"
"It's so obvious," she confirmed, then backtracked, "Oh, wait. You guys really don't know?"
Their blank, clueless expressions made Nami sigh.
A little while later, you hobbled into the kitchen for dinner. But this time you weren't mad, you were groaning and clutching your stomach tightly, earning concerned glances all around. But because of earlier, everyone was too afraid to say a word. Except Zoro.
"Go back to your room."
"W-what?" Your eyes widened, then glossed over with tears.
He instantly cursed himself and his monotonous voice. He hadn't meant it to sound harsh or anything, but from the way you looked at him he knew you had taken it the wrong way. And when the tears actually fell, guilt ripped through him and he felt an unusual pain in his chest.
"Zoro-" Nami started.
"No, it's okay," you said quietly, turning around, only to feel that familiar feeling of something wet down south.
"You're bleeding!"
Embarrassment washed through you and you instantly turned back around, trying to cover it, but the blood soaked the front of your shorts as well. You instantly regretted wearing such light-coloured shorts, but you hadn't expected your period for another two days. But now, seeing them all staring, you felt humiliated and ashamed, and the tears fell faster.
"Someone get her a damn blanket," Nami practically growled at the gobsmacked men, before coming over and helping you to the counter.
You refused to look at the green-haired swordsman, but you soon realised he was no longer in the room. You internally groaned, then began crying even more because you felt as if you had disgusted him. Nami tried to comfort you, but you barely heard her as you felt the sadness of impending rejection mixing with your already unstable emotions.
What happened next was beyond anything you could have imagined.
You felt a blanket being draped across your shoulders, seconds before you were lifted into a pair of familiar, strong arms. You quickly covered your tear-stained face with the blanket, not wanting to meet his eyes as he carried you to your room.
"Don't do that."
"What?" You choked out, your voice still weak and soft.
"Don't hide," Zoro clarified. "I want to see your face."
"Why?" You slowly removed the blanket from your face.
"You're pretty."
Your heart hammered in your chest when you heard that, sadness immediately dissipating. You couldn't believe what you had just heard, but it made your heart swell knowing he really thought that. You felt your cheeks heat up, and the familiar feeling of butterflies that you always got around him.
"I'm crying. And bleeding."
"Nami told us what's wrong," he looked down at you, and his eyes gleamed with concern, "It's natural."
Before you could say anything else, he set you down. In a hammock. With a start, you realised he'd brought you to his room instead. You opened your mouth to say something, but he was already walking away to his closet. Your words died in your throat when he pulled out his own clothes and offered them to you.
"Change. I'll wait outside."
He started towards the door, but you stopped him, sniffing, "Thank you."
He felt his own heart swell when he saw how happy his actions had made you, and it sparked some hope in him that maybe you felt the same way. Not knowing what to say, and also wanting to hide his oncoming blush, he just nodded and quickly exited to let you change. You looked down at his clothes, your own blush dusting your cheeks. As you changed into them, you realised you'd need underwear.
"Z-Zoro?" You called, blushing harder.
He was in the room in less than a second, his eyes widening when he saw you pants-less but with the blanket covering your lower half. He coughed, trying hard not to blush, "Yeah?"
"I need...underwear," you said quietly, feeling more embarrassment come on.
"Oh."
You started to get up, thinking you'd rather get it yourself since he was clearly uncomfortable, but he stopped you, "Stay. I'll ask Nami to bring it for you." Then he reached down to grab your bloodstained clothes, and your eyes widened.
"No! You don't have to-"
"(Name)," he sighed, looking up at you, "Shut up and let me take care of you."
You would have probably burst into tears again if anyone else had told you to shut up, but the words that followed it were enough to comfort you and make you relax back into the hammock. You bit your lip, flustered and embarrassed but feeling much better already knowing he was going to - and he wanted to - take care of you.
A while later, you were dressed in his clothes and relaxing in his hammock, your heart thundering as you looked around his room. He hadn't decorated, being the simple man he was, but just the fact that it was his brought you more comfort. You felt calmer here, like the room itself was reducing your stress and pain. Your cramps had subsided, but that was because of the hot soup that Zoro had brought you which he had aggressively demanded Sanji make. The man in question had disappeared somewhere, but came in just as you were starting to wonder where.
"How you feeling?"
"Better," you admitted. "Thanks to you."
He sat down next to you on a chair he'd brought in, "Stop thanking me."
"But-" You were cut off by another wave of cramps, groaning loudly and curling up into a ball.
He shot up again, "What? What's wrong?"
"More...cramps..." You managed to get out, whining and whimpering in pain.
"Should I get more soup?"
"N-No, just..." You blushed at the idea you had, wondering if he would really do it. "Could you...maybe lie down with me?"
Instantly his cheeks warmed up. Unlike many people would think, Zoro was easily flustered by requests like that coming from you. He'd long dreamed of laying with you in his hammock, you on his chest with his arms around you, but he hadn't ever expected it to really happen. His heart was beating faster than it usually did, as always when he was around you, but he happily obliged despite his nervousness in doing so. You shifted to give him space, letting him slip onto the hammock beside you.
"You might not be comfortable with it, and it's totally okay if you, arent, but-" You groaned in pain, then continued, "Can you please put your hand here?" You placed a hand over the spot, and he almost choked on air when he realised how far down it was. You saw his expression, and your eyes widened, "I-I'm sorry, you don't-"
His warm hand settled over that spot before you finished, "I want to help."
You blushed, "Well...your hand might help better inside."
His eyes widened, but he slowly slipped his hand in and settled it over that same spot, and was about to ask if that was right when he looked at your face and saw you visibly relax. That gave him his answer. When he started rubbing slowly, the pained look on your face completely disappeared.
"That feels really good."
He smiled, then guided your head to his chest as he slowly relaxed as well. You closed your eyes, mumbling something about how you never knew such peace existed during your period. Another unusual bout of pride swelled in his chest, knowing he could help without words, because those were not his strong suit.
"Can I kiss you?"
He was surprised to hear you ask, and looked down to see your eyes on his lips. He leaned in without saying anything and captured your lips with his own, kissing you slowly and softly. The kiss was much gentler than you expected it to be, but you weren't complaining because his lips were soft and warm, and you leaned into him even more, deepening the kiss. The butterflies in your stomach fluttered around wildly, but this time you didn't try to calm them because you loved the way he made you feel. He pulled away too soon, but pressed a soft kiss to your forehead.
"You should sleep. You look tired."
"I am tired," you complained, "But I don't want to sleep. What if I wake up and you're gone? And I'm in my own bed, and this was all a dream?"
He chuckled, finding it adorable how sleepy you sounded, "I promise I'll be here when you wake up. You and I are both staying right here."
"Okay."
That 'okay' was so innocent and childlike, making you much cuter to him. You yawned once, before closing your eyes again and getting comfortable on his broad chest. He held you close, and you fell asleep knowing you had the best caretaker watching over you.

hi, could you do a x reader oneshot on live action Roronoa Zoro from the live action One Piece series!
Roronoa Zoro x reader oneshot (Netflix live action)
Summary: you tend to Zoro's wounds after he is hurt on a fight
Warnings: cursing, a bit suggestive, mentions of blood, me pretending to understand medical matters 🤡 (sorry about that, it was for fangirling purposes only ajskajakja)
A/n: hello anon! Thanks a lot for the request 🥰 this is probably set after s1? Sorry for any plot or grammar mistakes 🙏🏻 i hope you like it 🩷
The salty sea breeze hit your skin as you looked out the Going Merry trying to spot your friends.
The straw hats had left to a village to try to confront another crew. Apparently another annoying guy was threatening Luffy and he was not going to let that pass. It was stupid, you thought, but, when Luffy had something in mind, absolutely no one could convince him otherwise.
Luffy had asked you to stay on the ship in case anything happened. Being the crew's doctor, you had to be prepared for any emergency regarding the crew's well being.
Yep, you were the doctor in the straw hats crew.
You had met when Luffy saw you helping hurt people in the middle of a fight at the small island you lived. He was so impressed at how good you were, how you helped everyone with ability but also with a kindness in your eyes that he had never seen before in anyone.
Having lived your entire life with your doctor grandparents, you had learned from them and was just as skilled as them, so you were always ready to help those who needed.
But you were also a dreamer and wanted to go around the world meeting new people and new places, so when Luffy asked you to join his crew you happily said yes.
- we already have a navigator, a cook... we could use a talented doctor like you. I just know it's you. So, what do you say? - he asked, with that excited smile of his.
And that's how you became a part of this special crew. Everyone was so nice to you, so it didn't take much time for you to get along with them all, specially with their cute swordsman.
Yeah, it was like you clicked. You started getting closer, closer... and before you knew you were dating.
That's why you were specially worried today. You were really afraid your boyfriend was going to do something stupid and get himself hurt again (you still had nightmares about the whole Mihawk thing).
You were lost in your thoughts when you heard your friends coming back to the ship. You immediatly ran to check on them.
- is everyone okay? - you asked worried.
- we're fine, we were lucky. Can't say the same about your man over there - Sanji said and your heart dropped. What did this stubborn do this time?
- shut up, Sanji, i'm fine - you heard Zoro say as he entered the ship too.
You ran to him doing a quick check up with your eyes. That's when you noticed the big red stain on the side of his shirt.
- oh my gosh, Zoro, you're bleeding! - you said terrified.
- this? Nah, this is just a scratch - he said shrugging and trying to play tough, even though you could clearly see he was in pain.
- no, it's not! - you said, in a stern way - come on, we have to bandage you up.
You carefully led him inside and brought your medical kit to start tending to his wounds. He sat down as you began.
- take your shirt off - you ordered.
- Wow you're that eager, huh? - he said smirking, but instantly regretting and wincing with pain.
- Zoro! Will you stop being a brat and let me take care of you? - you said angrily - i can see you're in pain and you're not going anywhere until we fix that up!
You were usually a very chill person, but you couldn't stand seeing your friends and loved ones in pain. That activated a side of you people were even a bit scared of lol
- okay, boss - he said, a bit annoyed but finally giving up.
The way he called you 'boss' made you feel all tingly inside. You were sure going to have to talk to him about it later (and maybe share some ideas 👀) but now it wasn't the time. You had a wound to treat.
He took his shirt off and you couldn't help but take in a sharp breath at the sight (even though you had seen it before lol). Boy was sure shredded.
Focus, (Y/N).
You checked him and noticed he had a knife wound just above his hip. It was ugly, but you could do it.
You grabbed a piece of cloth to start cleaning the wound.
- my love, i apologize in advance, but this is going to hurt.
You started the cleaning.
- shit, that hurts! - he hissed.
- i know, i'm sorry.
You knew you had to do it, but you couldn't stand seeing the man you loved suffering like that. You had to distract him out of it so you could finish your work.
- umm baby, could you tell me again about that time you beat three pirates at once with only one sword?
- what? Now? Why? - he looked so cute furrowing his brows in confusion.
- it's just that... i like to work listening to your voice - you quickly made that up lol
Well, it wasn't totally a lie, you did enjoy listening to his voice, but of course it was mostly to keep him distracted ajskjakaja
He was still a bit suspicious but started telling the story since you asked him (trust me, there was nothing you asked Zoro he wouldn't do for you). Your strategy worked cause you cleaned the wound and bandaged it without him wincing too much.
By the time he finished the story, you had finished your work too. You also gave him some painkillers for him to feel better soon.
- there you go - you said softly and kissed his forehead.
He closed his eyes and melted under your touch, not only because of how tired he was, but also because he felt super safe with you.
- thank you, (Y/N) - he said squeezing your hand.
You smiled at him.
- now please lay down and try to rest a bit, or this thing won't heal - you said in a stern tone, but nearly begging for your boyfriend to take care of himself.
You gathered your medical stuff and were starting to leave the room when he said:
- (Y/N), wait!
- what is it? - you asked, worried he was starting to feel pain again.
- I... I might not be feeling 100% yet. I think you should stay and lay down with me just in case it gets worse - he said in a really nonchalant way.
You rolled your eyes at his completely obvious attempt, but couldn't help smiling and blushing a bit at the thought of the great Roronoa Zoro wanting you to stay with him.
- you're the worst, Zoro - you said playfully as you carefully laid down next to him and put your hand on his chest.
- yeah, but you love me - he replied with that smug smile of his and that deep voice that drove you crazy.
You chuckled at his response.
- yes, I do - you said smiling.
His next words came out merely a whisper, but were enough to give you a thousand butterflies in your stomach:
- and I love you more.

One Piece Live Action Review
Warning: it's long and not in a good way..
So it's been enough time since the live action came out and while half of that time was just trying to find the time to watch and process, the other half was just trying to make it through the show without pausing every 3 minutes. And while it's not as bad as it could be, it suffers heavily from a lot of issues. I definitely have a lot of personal gripes with things, but I do want to start off by saying that I tried my best to be objective and understanding of it as I watched and will try to consolidate this "short" review into being fair and focus on the things that make it a tough show to watch as a viewer and not just a gangle of discontent complaints.
That being said: I'm going to boil it down to 2 distinct issues the show suffered from and keep it at that.
Issue 1: The Characters
One of the main reasons I couldn't make it through scenes is because of how the characters were portrayed in the live action. There's parts I think the actors really captured the essence of the characters but these are small and vary from scene to scene. Other times it feels like the script worked against them, making the characters move against the way they're portrayed in the manga/anime and thus making it hard to swallow as someone who's spent so much time coming to love these characters. To start off: Zoro.
Zoro: Overall, I think Zoro's character suffered heavily, and maybe the most, out of just the 5 Straw Hats. From the very beginning we find Zoro being stoic and full of witty one lines as he takes on Mr. 7 from Baroque Works (which I actually really appreciated because it was just something that gets mentioned in passing and you never saw in the anime/manga) and while it did a fantastic job of setting the scene for who he was in the show, it immediately felt like a bastardized version of him. A theme that runs through all characters in this show but especially Zoro as the scenes and story continue to play out. One of the biggest signs of the bastardization comes just after the Baroque confrontation when he's being freed by Luffy in the Marine base. Zoro's introduction to the reader in the manga and in the anime is very adamantly: "I don't call myself pirate hunter." and this is broken immediately by Zoro telling Luffy he is THE pirate hunter and that its clearly a central part of him. This is even mentioned later on where he introduces himself as such to Mihawk. I think it struck me the hardest to see something that was so integral to Zoro that just was completely flipped and forgotten about. It lessens the impact of him joining Luffy moving forward, it strains the feeling of knowing this is supposed to be Roronoa Zoro, a man who's only goal for over a decade was to just get stronger and find Mihawk so he can live up to his promise, and worse, it created this feeling of distrust in me while I continued watching. The other aspect that I found unfortunate was how he didn't act his age for where this story is supposed to be taking place. Zoro in the beginning is so incredibly full of life, he gets angry at points, is continuously surprised and amused by Luffy, and in true One Piece fashion, he's got his dream and the emotions to match. This Zoro felt boiled down to an emotionless and shallow version, trying so hard to keep up this cool persona with small quips. It felt like he was only there to cut down enemies and move the plot forward at times. One of my favorite things about young Zoro in the beginning of the story is that he laughs, he's cocky and talks big, and he gets angry at Luffy & Sanji. I just felt like I got none of that.
Buggy: Wow. Like I know I wasn't expecting much when I first saw him in the trailer (or the ridiculous campaign that tumblr shoved in front of everyone) but I was not expecting what they did to this doofus. I say doofus lovingly because that's how I see the original Buggy. Buggy's ridiculous, he's grandstanding, impulsive even though he tries to be contemplative, and most importantly, he's flashy. This Buggy is.. someone else altogether. I do have to give some leeway in how I start this off because half of his character in the live action is at the fault for how the show runners decided to move the story forward, but even with how they decided to have him interact with Arlong and being carried by the Straw Hats, I felt like this clearly was just some deranged man with the same name. One really upsetting aspect was how they show the town being chained to the stands to watch his show, as if this is something he needs to have, be it for power or amusement. Buggy from the anime/manga couldn't bring himself to do that in the slightest. Buggy was on Gol D. Roger's ship. Buggy has morals and actual values that the reader/watcher of the manga/anime can see come from his core, and yeah, he's a coward about it, but he's not cruel. He doesn't hurt people, let alone imprison an entire town to watching bad circus acts. Lastly, this Buggy wasn't flashy in the slightest, there wasn't a crew to show off for and get excited for him and there wasn't effort put into his actions. Buggy puts on a show for the people around him in everything he does, even if it's just Luffy and Mr. 3 as they dove deeper into Impel Down. This Buggy couldn't care less. He felt selfish, vengeful, shriveled up, not motivated in the slightest for treasure or fame, and most importantly, not flashy. He felt so out of place for me that I wish they didn't include him in the story at all.
Nojiko: I don't think I've hated any other change in a secondary character than they did to my girl Nojiko. They literally introduce her by having her spit on Nami. It was disgusting. Nojiko, who followed Bell-mere's code of being a family, was just made to hate Nami in this adaptation for no reason. And while it changes later on, it shouldn't have been an option to begin with. Even in the original material the reader is shown how Nami comes back with Arlong's tattoo and while the immediate reaction by the town is to hate her, Nojiko, her sister, knows somethings up. And she immediately finds out what the deal is. Because Nami can't hold this secret of being able to save the town alone, and Nojiko is just as important in helping her bear that burden. I think it gets casually passed over in how Nami can only go out and get money on her heists because she knows Nojiko is home to watch and take care of the town she loves. This Nojiko is nothing like that, she's just used to push the story forward and doens't have personality or depth. Whatever the show-runners thought they were doing with trying to adapt this arc, it just feels pathetic. Its a beautiful arc and its emotional and powerful and unfortunately these nonsensical character changes leads into the second, and most important issue.
First though, I want to say there are parts done well and while none of the characters really feel like themselves, and I mean none, there's parts I can see the actors took to heart. Luffy's actor yells happily so often and loudly and I loved that. It's goofy and so reminiscent of how Luffy actually acts. Koby is still shy and timid and its conveyed so well by his actor that I was thoroughly impressed, especially when it came to standing up for his beliefs in the last episode. It might not have been canon but he was 100% in character. I actually thought Sham and Buchi weren't bad for who they were, a little ridiculous at times but I enjoyed the direction that they took two characters whom they didn't have a lot to go on. And as for Straw Hats, Usopp felt the most true to character for the most part, barring the issue of how he just casually brought the Straw Hats to Kaya's mansion when he's so protective of her, but again that leads into the second issue.
Issue 2: Unnecessary Changes
I don't think anything bothered me more than the number of things that got changed for literally no reason. In times it was mildly uncomfortable but in others I wanted to pull my hair out. Why did Usopp's mom have to die right in front of him?? Why does Arlong need to get to the Grand Line when it's where he's from?? Why is Zeff punishing Sanji for cooking with passion when he taught him everything he knows???? It just didn't make sense for all these insane and mundane changes to be added. If I could ask any question of the people who made this, it would be why the fuck they thought to add half the stuff they did rather than stick to the material. While I try to be understanding of the ones that were plot relevant, some just truly didn't even need to be in the show and I think it would've been better of for it. Unlike half the missing cast that should've been in it...
A very easy example is just how they have Nami proposition Arlong to join his crew. Arlong's a monster! He originally just spots the map and takes her because Nami says the maps hers and he wanted her skills. They could've kept this and it would've kept the story more coherent than having her sister be pissed and Nami immediately getting over her mothers death and coming up with buying the town back on her own. It didn't add anything and in fact, it made the feeling of the whole situation less impactful.
In continuation of that thought, why did they get rid of Genzo? Yes he was included in the live action but he wasn't really there or a part of Nami's story even though they included him getting cut up. His character holds so much weight to Nami and Nojiko! He's the pinwheel and they just wash over that and make it something Bell-mere did off offhandedly and then proceed to not even explain the tattoo coverup. Genzo is so important to Nami's character and upbringing and it just felt like they couldn't have bothered to use him correctly.
Syrup Village is no exception either. There wasn't a reason for Kuro to kill Merry, it took away from the ending and the christening of the Going Merry. Usopp's mom didn't have to die in front of him (abruptly I might add) for the sentiment to get across of how he puts on a brave front all of the time. Kuro didn't have to be shown poisoning Kaya for her to be sick, originally she's just extremely depressed and that's okay as it was!
I only had question after question with the changes but my biggest question of all is just:
What the fuck was the point of everything with Garp? Like in all seriousness: what was that for? A 10 minute fight where Garp beats Luffy's ass as they rehash dialogue from when they actually fight for Ace? Luffy is shown so often emulating Roger, hell it's the biggest mirror overarching the entire series, but that never once was addressed, or even needed to be, with Garp. There's plenty of other times for that parallel to come up if they decide to continue the live action. There's no need for him to test his grandson, let alone have it play in so much as it did through the season just for the extremely pathetic conclusion it came to. It not only took Garp completely out of who he is as a character, it put so much stress on every other move the story took that it needed a bigger resolution or to not be resolved at all just yet. Garp wouldn't request a shichibukai (nor did he even have the authority to but whatevs), Garp wasn't as forward with Koby in the actual series, and most of all, there's no reason for him to be chasing Luffy. In fact, Garp's so fucking proud and dismissive of Luffy's actions as he hears of them in the actual series that this Garp feels almost alien. It didn't provide anything to the viewer, it didn't offer anything more to the story that it didn't already have, and it shouldn't have even been part of it to begin with.
Overall, the trailer filled me with dread leading up to the release and it was not unexpected in how painful it was to watch. I hope they don't continue it, plain and simple. It's not a good adaptation and it's just more bad writing from the people at Netflix. There's some thought put into it but unfortunately, not enough to feel like the people who made it have anything but surface level love for the original material. 2/10
#one piece#opla#sorry for long post but tbf this isn't even half of it#also im not here to debate so if randos find this and start something i will just block and move on
