Importance and Solution of street vendors
Importance of street vendors in India
Many street vendors serve as the primary source of income for their families by bringing food to their families and also paying for school fees for their children.
These workers in the informal sector are in close contact with their formal economic system. Nearly half of the workers claimed they get the products they sell from formal companies. A lot of customers have formal employment.
Many vendors strive to ensure that the streets are clear and safe for their clients and offer them friendly, personal service.
Street vendors create jobs not just for them but also for porters, security guards, transportation operators storage companies, and more.
A lot of them generate revenue for cities by paying for licenses, permits, fines and fees, and certain types of taxes.
Street trading also adds a sense of vibrancy to urban life and is often thought to be a keystone of historic as well as cultural history.
Despite their contribution street vendors are faced with many problems, and are often regarded as economic actors, in contrast to other businesses, they are typically hurt rather than assisted by the policies and practices of municipal governments.
Tumblr media
How can we help street vendors?
The origins of Indian food are found in its Ghar-ka-khana and as street food. The pandemic has made people put on chef hats to prepare delicious dishes at home, however, the street food component of the food has been severely affected. Recently, footage of vendors on the streets all across India seeking help for their businesses has gone viral. The heartbreaking story of business owners trying to make ends meet has brought together people to raise awareness of an old couple. Since then the Parvathy amma of Kerala as well as Faridabad's Bhel Puriwala Chahanga Lal Baba has received a large amount of love and support from foodies across India. If you're thinking about the best way to aid street vendors located in your area in this time of crisis Let us tell you the steps you can take. There are five ways that you can help their businesses and create a positive impact on their appearance.
Freshly made Bhel puri and steaming hot dosas or the chole-bhature that is scrumptious from your street vendor cannot be beaten. It's sure to be delicious. Additionally, it is brimming with love and warmth. So one of the best methods to help street vendors in this difficult time is to eat at their stalls or bring some for the roads. Street food is inexpensive. Food served at stands is a great option to save money, and help grows their business. The coronavirus outbreak is ongoing and won't go away. The use of hand sanitizer and masks is now the norm. Be sure to wear masks whenever you visit their booth. You may also take foodstuffs purchased from them in containers you own for your security. Take the proper precautions, and eat the street food that you love, cooked by street vendors.
It's not enough to just stop at a food stand that has been a part of social media. It's more important to assist those living in your area. If you own your favorite street food vendor struggling to survive, make them aware via social media. Be sure that your family members are aware of their special offerings as well as the cost. Encourage people in your neighborhood to visit these establishments to taste the delicious food. Send your gratitude and love to the vendors. Contrary to large corporations, street food vendors do not have a PR or marketing agency. It's all word of mouth to gain customers. Also, you can be a great volunteer and help your bhel puri dosa aunty!
The coronavirus epidemic is creating chaos in our everyday lives. However, it's also brought people of the world together. People from all across India have joined hands via social media platforms to assist those in need. Numerous non-governmental organizations are working to help people sell food on the streets across the nation. A Delhi-based NGO's One Rupee Foundation distributed free gloves for street food sellers to protect their hygiene when cooking food items. There are also organizations that raise funds to help the street food vendors within your neighborhood or offer gloves, masks, and hand sanitizers to street vendors. A small gesture can make a difference significantly.
Burgers and pizzas offered at large fast-food chains are definitely attractive. The low cost, quick service, and addictive nature of junk food offered at fast food chains definitely draw people who are magnetized. However, junk food isn't actually junked food, is it? If this disease is in full swing that is spreading across the country and the world, it's not the big food outlets or restaurants who suffer the most but rather people selling food on the streets who frequently suffer. It's essential to eat street food that is made by local vendors instead of junk food bought by fast food chains. Street food is similar to fast food. It's cheap and fast and, in fact, it's healthier.
street food vendors street food sellers in India are likely to collaborate with food delivery services like Swiggy and Swiggy, with the help of the state. Now you can order your favorite Kachori Chaat online and have it delivered to your home in a secure, non-contact way. Therefore, you can not just help street vendors in your community, but also relish your favorite foods in a safe and clean method. Here are some suggestions to help the vendors selling street food in your local communities recover from the devastating effects of the pandemic. Show them love and your gratitude to us all!
Tumblr media
Push Cart Vendors
Street Vendors and Push Cart Vendors play an important part in our society and economy. They've been providing quick and convenient access to an extensive assortment of products at a reasonable price for thousands of years, acting as a channel of distribution for the essentials of life. Street vendors have everything from vegetables and fruits to ready-to-eat food, clothes to décor, toys to stationery, books, flowers, and much more.
However, they are viewed as nuisances and are forced to contend with harassment, social indifference, and the continuous threat of being evicted. The epidemic is increasing push cart sellers' difficulties. Many lives have been affected and street sellers are forced to tap their funds, get high-interest loans, dispose of their possessions and have to beg for their lives.
Many street vendors are seeking to make a comeback and regain their income. If we are to improve as a nation helping pushcart vendors to get back on their feet is vitally important.
There is a Need for Mobility Solutions for Push Cart Vendors
Check out the push cart trolley your street vendors at your local are using. They often make use of old, deteriorated carts. Broken wheels make them in motion and prevent them from expanding their areas of operations.
Some sellers use ropes to ensure their carts are straight. They often opt for makeshift shades to cope with the harsh conditions. Lack of lighting means they must shut down at night. The list of vendors selling push carts issues continues to grow.
Moving the cart around and pushing it along incline roads requires a lot of physical exertion. This is particularly difficult for older people and women who depend on street vendors for their livelihood. In many instances, women don't have a cart. They simply are seated on a plastic sheet and carry their merchandise.
At present, there is a demand for comprehensive and modern mobility solutions for pushcart sellers. Tigoona's latest carts are designed to assist them to meet the challenges of the changing landscape.
Street vendors in India during covid
The lockdown which took place in Delhi caused a major loss to street vendors as it did for all other workers in the city's vast informal economy. This lockdown came into effect on the 24th of March with just four hours' notice. An empty city meant that street vendors lost their main source of income, and were confronted with the devastating consequences of poverty and hunger.
Certain vendors (fruit and vegetable sellers) started to open their doors after a couple of days without authorization and were then subject to police intimidation. After a few days, government officials eased restrictions, and some vendors were allowed to sell (due in large part because of the efforts of vendors groups or activist groups). However, the price of doing business, and the risks of conducting business, have risen substantially due to vendors not being in a position to gain access to Wholesale markets and suppliers and they are required to pay higher prices for travel because of restrictions on travel restrictions that are in place in the cities. Furthermore, as the lockdown remains in place, the number of customers has decreased and, consequently, the amount earned. Due to the extreme temperatures in summer, perishable fruits or vegetables will have a shorter shelf life, so sellers can't earn a profit from every item they are able to purchase.
The state recently unveiled the economic stimulus package that is worth INR 5 crores for nearly 50 lakh vendors and has acknowledged the devastating effects of their deprivation of income. The relief plan for vendors is an unsecured credit loan, which will give the first capital of INR 10,000 per vendor but this isn't enough. Instead of credit, the government should examine the possibility of converting it to an income-based benefit that is a direct cash payment that will businesses to begin earning on a regular basis. Vendors need income support for resuming work. And if they're not able to receive it, then what are they going to do to pay back the loan? In the face of an ever-evolving crisis, vendors should take action and ensure that their vendors receive the necessary resources to be able to return to the workforce. In order to achieve this, vendors should think about the following strategies to create an advocacy plan:
The promotion of livelihood for any seller, including those selling items that aren't essential to COVID-19 has been very harsh for those in informal settings who've spent the savings they've earned and are to feed their families during the long lockdown. Vendors need to be able to keep selling their products to earn a living and the government must begin to allow markets to reopen and permit traders to go back to their streets.
Markets should be reopened with an eye on hygiene and social distancing Delhi has a wide range in traditional market options, like markets that are held weekly (for freshly prepared food items, cooked foods, and other essential household items) and also regular markets on the sides of the roads. These markets should be revived with a view to the necessity of social disengagement and the government needs to provide guidelines regarding the same. In the future, vending areas must be designed keeping in mind the need to stop social interaction and include adequate sanitation facilities (running water washing stations, toilets, wash stations). Authorities must work together along with Town Vending Committees (TVCs) to attain similar objectives.
Tumblr media
Direct support that's not subject to registration conditions. After the lockdown is over and vending reopens the vendors who were in a remote location for a long time will need immediate assistance to re-establish their business. The stimulus package offered by Government is certainly a positive thing, but it's not enough for the purpose of relief (credit isn't directly cash-based) and also in terms of eligibility (only registered vendors are eligible to apply for the credit and are not qualified for the majority of vendors who are located in India). In addition, the assistance and relief need to be lifted from the extremely strict registration requirements. At present, only a few vendors are registered sellers in India. In the case of Delhi of the 350,000 street vendors, around 131,00 are registered with a kind of identification that is used for work. If the eligibility requirements for cash grants or assistance for a living are tied to occupational identification by the state, then the government should also permit the identification of a worker union or other organization as a proxy to vending permits that are issued by the state.
Hygiene and social distancing in vending establishments The government should offer running water, soap/sanitizers as well as soap to street vendors at their places of work. In addition, vendors need to work with food safety authorities across the nation to train vendors (especially those selling food cooked) on how to maintain cleanliness when working.
The steps taken to study markets and registration of vendors for benefits from the government, as previously mentioned the number of vendors who have identification cards is just a tiny portion of the total number of vendors in Delhi. Prior to the crisis and its consequent lockdown Town Vending Committees (TVCs) were scheduled to begin conducting surveys and registering vendors. As we adapt to the new standard, it is anticipated that the surveying and registration process will also begin to ensure that each vendor is qualified to receive the benefits of social security and financial aid in this current time of uncertainty.
Solutions for street vendors
street vendors have become a frequent sight across India. They line the streets Street vendors have been adding life, color, and life to cities for many generations. From flowers and fruits to shirts and shoes, they are able to offer a broad range of items and have been in public areas since long ago.
The significance that street vendors play in India is evident in the business sector. They are an integral element of India's economy. As the sector of the informal sector, they generate a revenue of approximately 80 million daily. They also offer jobs, provide cheap and efficient services for the urban poor and upper middle classes, and are seen as a vital chain of supply.
However, despite their significant contribution to society, the daily life of street vendors is rife with immense challenges. They continue to be branded and ignored and their challenges have grown tenfold since the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020.

The Effect Of Hyper Mutated Omicron COVID Variant
The world is already suffering from the catastrophic effects of coronavirus, and the emergence of the Omicron COVID variant makes things worse. This harmful virus was detected on 26 November by #WHO in South Africa.
After that, this virus traveled to Hong Kong and other parts of the globe. With the detection of 10 more new cases of Omicron virus, the Omicron #virus count of India reaches 97. Due to this, the government is making every effort to convenience unvaccinated people to get vaccines soon.
Presently the UK is the country that is highly affected by the hyper mutated Omicron virus, with 11,710 total cases. The second comes in line with Denmark. 9,000 active cases.
The mutation of this virus is more complex than the previous virus of the SARS family; it is changing properties at a very fast rate and is a bit difficult for researchers to understand.
#Weakness, tiredness, fatigue, low fever and sore throat are some of the early symptoms of the newly identified Omicron virus. Each nation’s government is trying to control its spread by conducting testing at international airports and crowded public places.
It has been reported that Omicron virus has worse symptoms than its previous counterpart, i.e., delta virus. This virus has been detected in several states of India, including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Kerala and #Punjab.
The latest news coming from Punjab state is that the first Omicron case was found in Chandigarh last Sunday in a two-year-old male who was returned from Italy in November. He was asked to stay in the home despite detecting any symptoms. His COVID-test was conducted in which the Omicron variant was confirmed on 11 December.
It is spreading at an unprecedented rate in Punjab. As per the stats, this virus will severely affect the population of Punjab in January and December 2022. According to the recent survey, around 603780 people got infected from COVID 19, and approximately 16,622 lost their lives. This count is quite high.
The spread of hyper mutated #Omicron COVID variants has stressed the election commission about how to plan for the upcoming elections of the Punjab assembly. On Wednesday, the chief election commissioner Sushil Chandra visited Chandigarh for 2 days election commissioner Rajiv Kuma to discuss Punjab assembly elections.
Given this, the Punjab health department decided to send around 300 #COVID samples to GMC Patiala after every 15 days. Before this, around 15 samples were already sent for examination. Also, the election commission has rolled up sleeves to take every measure to promote social distancing. Special training is being given to the district-level officers on maintaining adequate distance between the voters in the booth.
Chief electoral officer Karuna Raju said that about 25,000 booths in the state would be equipped with masks, PPE kits, sanitizers, and gloves. Also, votes will be appropriately screened on the entry gates, and the count of voters in the polling will be no more than the specified limit.
Raju also said separate exit and entry gates would be made to promote social distance. The entry to each voter will be given after proper thermal scanning and checking. Any person with a body temperature exceeding the ideal limit will not be permitted to enter the voting area and will be isolated instantly. However, they will be allowed to vote at the end wearing PPC kits.
The election commission is working hard to enforce political parties to follow the safety guidelines created by the health department. Also, it’s tying up with the Punjab Pollution Control Board to reduce the biomedical waste generated from the masks and gloves. The chief election commissioner said that the dedicated team would dispose of all the waste in one of the five waste treatment plants located in Pathankot, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Mohali and Muktsar.

What is a Blood fluid Warmer?
A blood fluid warmer machine isdemarcated as a portable solid-state tool envisioned to transport outlying balminess to the principal piping so as to keep the blood under warm circumstances or fluid passing by through transfusion. The instrument that blood fluid warmer machine manufacturer’s manufacture encompasses of a power string, sanitized venous additional set, escalating unit, and other added fittings.
Submissions of A blood warmer: The gadget is used to keep the blood or liquids under looked-for warm states before transfusion to a dependent. These warmers developed by blood fluid warmer machine suppliers in India are often utilized in disaster units, normal therapeutic rooms, and intensive care booths to evade hypothermia. The tool keeps the blood to a looked-for malaise that is nontoxic for infusion.
Lively blood heating is a fresh practice and rises out of contradictory needs. On the one hand, the security and protection of blood require chilled storage and distribution up to the moment of transfusion. On the other hand, contemporary approaches of very fast transfusion in revival would cause clinically unsafe hypothermia if unchanged, ice-cold blood were to be so transfused. These requirements must be settled in the importance of satisfactory patient care--hence the necessity for blood warming. Yet, blood warming creates dangers of its own and should not be used without extenuating scientific signals. Within bounds that spread rather above normal body malaise, the request of heat does no damage to stowed RBC, a fact that is not reproduced in current values for blood warmers found with blood fluid warmer machine suppliers. Bearing in mind the humanoid propensity to "spring" values and the unreliability of mechanical plans, carefulness is always astute. But perhaps the time has come for reexamination of the current upper bound of 38 degrees C. Many variations of blood warmers are obtainable withblood fluid warmer machine suppliers, but none at this time is founded on electromagnetic action. The most mutual schemes now in use are in-line heaters produced by blood fluid warmer machine manufacturers, most of which are not satisfactory for the kind of rapid-transfusion schemes presently obtainable.
Unintentional perioperative hypothermia is a spectacle that can happen as a consequence of the overpowering of the central contrivances of temperature directive due to anaesthesia, and of protracted contact of large exteriors of skin to cold malaises in operating rooms. Unintentional perioperative hypothermia has been related with clinical problems such as surgical site contagion and wound-healing deferral, augmented hemorrhage or circulatory events. One of the most often used methods to stop inadvertent perioperative hypothermia is active body external heating schemes, which produce heat automatically (warming of air, water or gels) that is transported to the patient via skin contact. Forced-air warming seems to have a helpful effect in footings of an inferior rate of surgical site contagion and problems, at least in those enduring stomach surgery, likened to not smearing any active heating system. It also has a helpful effect on major circulatory problems in people with considerable circulatory illness. It also advances patient's ease. While the effect on blood forfeiture is statistically important, this alteration does not render to a noteworthy discount in transfusions.

The fact that people in the us have to register to vote is appalling to me, our election was earlier this year, I live in a so-called third world country, 2 weeks before the election I get a letter in the mail saying where my polling station is, (a local public school) I walked into the polling station/classroom with nothing but my national ID in my hand (something that is given out for free to every citizen when they turn 16 years old), was sanitized at the door, handed my id to a nice lady with a book, (not a computer that can be tampered with) she ticks my name, hands me my ballot, i walk over to the booth and mark an X where i want it (can be on the back of the page if i don’t feel like voting for anyone) then i walk over to another lady with a ballot box, dip my finger in some ink (a practice adopted from india i believe) that stains my finger red for the next week, while my finger is in the ink, i place my ballot in the box, and i walk out of the classroom getting sanitized again while leaving.
I was in and out in literally 5 minutes. the man behind me in line didn’t have his ID and was there with his daughter, the lady asked him his name and address, and looked him up in the book, ticking his name, he voted right after me. and I 100% trust him, and even if he was lying, his name was ticked in the book, another person cant use that same name, and his name wouldn’t be in a book at a different polling place, that plus the ink thing mean that every citizen is guaranteed to only be able to vote once.
Every individual polling station sends in its numbers and our entire election was counted the next day. I know my country is minuscule compared to the US, but imagine the access if every school and government facility in the country was a polling station. I forgot to mention that yes obviously our election day is a national holiday. I also forgot to mention that in the letter 2 weeks before the election, you get a piece of paper that allows you to register for free public transport to your polling station if you need it. (i looked into what if you are hospitalized or house-ridden but i never did find an answer, we dont have mail in voting, but I’m sure you still get to vote somehow)

The event industry in the post-pandemic world
New Post has been published on https://appradab.com/the-event-industry-in-the-post-pandemic-world-2/
The event industry in the post-pandemic world
When we welcomed 2021, the new year, we were hit by the news that this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony was postponed. It’s originally taking place on January 31. However, Los Angeles, Calif., where it is set to be held, struggles with the rising cases of COVID-19. This is a cause for concern for the Recording Academy and CBS, the network broadcasting the live event.
Instead, the organizers have decided to move the ceremony to March 14. Hopefully, the coronavirus cases in the city will be contained at a much lower rate by then.
But despite news such as the postponement of the Grammys, many are predicting changes in the industry even after the pandemic inevitably passes. It’s only a matter of time before event organizers look for red carpet rentals, more much-anticipated events.
The rise of virtual events
When the COVID-19 pandemic was at its peak a few months back, the authorities and the public are adamant about practicing social distancing. Because of this, organizers had no choice but to cancel their planned events. This resulted in a tremendous loss in revenue. But there’s still a ray of hope. Some companies have adapted to the changing times. Moreover, they did so by taking advantage of the advancement of technology.
Zoom parties and events were planned. The marketing and hype of such events were on their websites, media outlets, and, of course, social media. The virtual setup has its downsides, yes. It’s really not the same as being there in person and getting to enjoy everything that events can offer, from music, food, and ambiance.
But the setup led to some positive outcomes as well. Cvent, a company that supports event planners and marketers through cloud-based software, found that virtual events garnered eight times more attendees than in-person events.
Because of this, it’s not surprising if some organizers opt for virtual events in the future to widen their reach of attendees even when the pandemic passes.
More tech in events
The rise of virtual events also led to another positive outcome. It urged organizers to understand how they can use technology more in other aspects of the event. They’re now more used to developing their marketing strategies for websites and social media. They also see now how convenient it is to manage the registration online. This way, it saves the attendees the hassle of falling in line to register and claim their registration packets. And they’d have to do this before they could even get inside and start enjoying the event.
Technology is also making a huge impact on the nitty-gritty details of event organizing. The organizers now use apps to set up itineraries and maps. If they have room in their budget, they could develop an app to help the attendees navigate the event.
Event organizers are still very much careful–reluctant, even–to conduct in-person events. But such tech advancements help them control the crowd and make sure that everyone is safe.
More conscious about sanitation
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recognizes that some United States communities are open to holding events. To help the organizers and their communities stay safe from the coronavirus, they set up a list of protocols that they should follow to keep everyone relatively safe. The experts at the CDC made it clear that hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette are a must.
So organizers have requirements to make sure that there are many sanitation booths around the space. They also have to continuously remind their attendees to stay six feet apart. They also have the task of reminding them that physical interactions such as handshakes and hugs are prohibited.
Even when the pandemic passes, it’s clear that people are more conscious about their sanitation. It’s one of the biggest lessons that we’ve learned from the pandemic. So it’s highly probable that events may continue to practice such protocols even after the pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to affect the event industry. The ban on mass gatherings and the enforcement of social distancing would stop various events that were lined up for 2020 and beyond. This, of course, was experienced not just in the United States but also around the world.
Roshan Abbas, the president of the Event & Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) in India, said that the industry lost about 30 percent in human resources. They predict that the industry will start to get a sense of pre-pandemic normalcy in the second quarter of 2021. That is if there’s a vaccine.
With the recent news of the vaccine, more people are hopeful for the event industry’s survival and eventual success in the coming months.

Thursday 15th of July 2021 – The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is pleased to announce the 2021 RIBA Norman Foster Travelling Scholarship recipient as Weronika Zdziarska, an architecture student from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, for her project ‘Don’t Stay Out Alone: addressing women’s perception of safety and freedom in cities by design’.
The annual scholarship offers £7,000 to fund research by one outstanding architecture student who demonstrates original thinking on issues relating to the sustainable survival of cities and towns.
Weronika Zdziarska: photo : Tomek Kaczor
Zdziarska’s project will evaluate previous interventions carried out by international, regional and local organisations in South America, to improve the safety of women in cities. Five cities have been selected for evaluation, each representing different attitudes and responses to this area of research: Medellín, Colombia; Quito, Ecuador; Santiago, Chile; Montevideo, Uruguay and Curitiba, Brazil.
The proposal seeks to demonstrate the relationships between gender inequality and design, and to outline best practices for building more inclusive cities. The judging panel also commended ‘Biofuel Producing Technology; Algae: An Alternative Energy Source’ by Basant Abdelrahman from the American University in Dubai, UAE.
The 2021 judging panel comprised of:
• Norman Foster, Lord Foster of Thames Bank (Founder and Executive Chairman, Foster + Partners; President, Norman Foster Foundation) • Elena Ochoa, Lady Foster of Thames Bank (Publisher and curator; Vice-President, Norman Foster Foundation) • Professor Ricky Burdett (Professor of Urban Studies, and director of LSE Cities and the Urban Age Programme; Trustee, Norman Foster Foundation) • Sofie Pelsmakers (Assistant Professor Sustainable Architecture and Sustainable Housing Design, Tampere University; Co-founder & Director, Architecture for Change (AfC)) • Professor Alan Jones (President, RIBA)
Student Weronika Zdziarska: photo : Tomek Kaczor
Lord Foster said: “The Jury was unanimous in its selection of Weronika Zdziarska’s submission as the winner. Her methodology was impressive, and her project was beautifully presented. Her decision to explore issues of gender in the public spaces of just Latin America demonstrated a sophistication in her early research which differentiated her work from that of her worthy fellow applicants.”
RIBA President Professor Alan Jones said: “Zdziarska’s proposal was very well structured and presented, with her focus on exploring and learning from South American urban environments that have improved inclusion and safety and increased gender equality in design. As a judging panel we were inspired by her initial research and pertinence of the proposal, and her drive to investigate and address these issues on an international scale. Congratulations on this winning project – I look forward to seeing the findings of this important research.”

RIBA President Alan Jones added:
“The prestigious Norman Foster Travelling Scholarship gives aspiring architects the chance to carry out important research, addressing global challenges and the sustainable future of our towns and cities. Students need support now more than ever, and we are very grateful to the Norman Foster Foundation for their ongoing generosity to make this grant possible.”
Applications are open to students who are enrolled in, or have successfully completed, the first year of a professional qualification in architecture, in one of the higher education institutions invited to participate.
The deadline for submissions is 17:00 Friday 28 May 2021. For more information visit: www.architecture.com/fosterscholarship
First established in 2006, the scholarship, supported by the Norman Foster Foundation, is now in its fifteenth year and is intended to fund national or international research on a topic related to the sustainable survival of our towns and cities, in a location of the student’s choice. Past RIBA Norman Foster Scholars have travelled through the Americas, Europe, Africa, South East Asia, the Middle and the Far East, and Russia. Proposals for research might include: learning from the past to inform the future; the future of society; the density of settlements; sustainability; the use of resources; the quality of urban life; and transport.
Over 400 higher education institutions are invited to participate, and this list includes all institutions that offer qualifications validated by the RIBA or are recognised by the Commonwealth Association of Architects; it also includes a large number of schools listed under other recognition systems (such as the European Directive for Recognition of Professional Qualifications in the EU, or the National Architectural Accreditation Board in the US).
