Horsfield’s / Western Tarsier (Cephalopachus bancanus) during our night walk at the Rainforest Discovery Centre:) on the first day of our trip. This tarsier occurs on Borneo, Sumatra and nearby islands. The uniquely large eyes in proportion to its small body does make it look like an alien 👽 or Gremlin.
These nocturnal primates are only about 12cm for males, and very agile leaping from trunk to trunk with their elongated hind limbs. A fully carnivorous primate that preys on insects, lizards, snakes and even birds and bats.
Second and third are juvenile's photos :)

Sandakan, Philippines or Sandakan, Malaysia?
Before everything turns bloody, I just want to clear things out, this is just a feature content not a ruling as to who should own what. Today, we will feature Sandakan, North Borneo, a progressive city in the state of Sabah. Photos of the city have been circulating online and created a wildfire of discussion with not-so-polite comments section. The post came from a Facebook Page ASEAN Skyline…

Yeah, some people should just keep quiet about these kinds of things, instead of pretending they know better than anyone else about it, especially over those who were indeed affected by it.
About what Ishiro Honda did, yes, he was forcefully stationed at a comfort station against his will, and he did regretted every second of it and made sure to expose it as much as he could after the war was over. But it just feels so weird and wrong seeing certain people downplay those actions when they weren't even involved and only know the Japanese side of the story more often than not.
Again, I don't want Ishiro Honda to be "cancelled", but it's very simple to acknowledge what he did and what he tried to do to make up for that going forward, without reducing the nuance to either "he's a proud Imperial Japanese soldier (which isn't true)" or "He's redeemed himself now so it wasn't really that bad (which isn't up for anyone who isn't a victim to decide and it's not good to swipe things under the rug either)" .
But that said, Ishiro Hondo did some questionable things and regretted it, but I will say that what other Imperial Japanese soldiers are so much more infamous and atrocious in comparison. Including, but not limited to: Unit 731, what they did to Nanjing, what they did to Manila, the Sandakan Death Marches, the Bataan Death March, and literally making a sport out of bayonetting babies from occupied territories. It's why when you ask anyone from countries that were formerly occupied by Imperial Japan, the debate and controversy of the atomic bombings isn't much of a big priority to them as it is with westerners compared to how the modern Japanese government still denies and downplays that part of history even to this day.
In fact from last year or so alone, Japan's Prime Minister has demanded both Germany and the Philippines to remove statues that served as memorials of what comfort women went through during Imperial Japan's era. So until the modern Japanese government finally owns up to it like how Germany did with the third reich, it will keep sucking to see Godzilla fandom of all people continue to be Imperial Japan apologists. Which is doubly ironic considering that even Ishiro Honda hated Imperial Japan and celebrated its downfall.
Yeah. I'm not going to police how people think or feel. All I can do is read up on the facts for myself and understand that, hey, Ishiro Honda was a more nuanced man than some are reducing him to, and... I was going to say more, but I'm at work now and it's already kicking my ass to the point where I need a shower, so... yeah. Brain needs a break.
