Telescreens Announce Debut Album '7' and Fall Tour Following Sold-Out Irving Plaza Show
New York City’s rock scene is alive and kicking, and leading the charge is none other than Telescreens. Over the weekend, the band delivered a powerhouse performance at a sold-out Irving Plaza, where they thrilled fans by announcing their debut full-length album, 7, set for release on October 4th via Victor Victor. The album will feature fan favorites like “Floods,” “Vertigo,” and “Burns,” and promises to be a defining moment in their musical journey. 7 captures the raw energy and evolution of a band that’s grown up in the city’s fast-paced, ever-changing music scene. Telescreens have made a name for themselves with electrifying live performances that are as intense as they are immersive. Rising quickly from playing small, intimate venues like Arlene’s Grocery and Baby’s All Right, they’ve leveled up to sell out Bowery Ballroom and perform at high-profile events like New York’s Governor’s Ball. Their show at Irving Plaza, their largest venue to date, was a testament to their rapid ascent and their growing fanbase. Supported by acts like Sid Simons and The Things, the night was a celebration of their rise in the city's vibrant rock scene. With their debut album just around the corner, Telescreens are gearing up for a whirlwind fall tour. They’ll hit the road supporting Marc E. Bassy, and will share the stage with Catfish and the Bottlemen at an Austin City Limits (ACL) aftershow. And the excitement doesn’t stop there—following 7’s release, Telescreens will take on their first ACL headline set on October 5th, marking yet another milestone for the band. Telescreens have already cemented their reputation as a must-see live act, catching the attention of high-profile fans like Juliette Lewis and CELINE creative director Hedi Slimane. Their rise has also garnered media attention from Lyrical Lemonade, V Magazine, and PAPER Magazine. With 7 on the horizon and a packed tour schedule, it’s clear that this is just the beginning of Telescreens’ unstoppable momentum. Pre-save 7 now, and keep your eyes peeled—there’s a lot more coming from Telescreens soon. Hear “Burns” below: Upcoming Tour Dates supporting Marc E. Baler boosts delivery of vital services to townsfolk
#PHnews: Baler boosts delivery of vital services to townsfolk
BALER, Aurora – The municipal government here has procured a mobile clinic and two multi-purpose vehicles to enhance the delivery of health and other vital services to the residents.
Town Mayor Rhett Ronan T. Angara led the blessing of the vehicles officiated by San Luis Obispo parish priest Froilan Rivera at the grounds of the municipal hall after the traditional flag ceremony on Monday.
“Pangako noon na tinupad ngayon sa tulong ng Sangguniang Bayan sa pangunguna ni Vice Mayor Bobong Ong at sa buong kawani ng LGU (local government unit)-Baler. Umasa po kayo na mag-iikot ang mobile clinic sa 13 barangays para makapagbigay ng libreng medical assistance sa ating mga kababayan (It was a promise before that was fulfilled today with the help of the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Bobong Ong and the entire staff of the LGU-Baler. The mobile clinic will roam around the 13 barangays to provide free medical assistance to our townmates)," Angara said.
The mayor said the mobile clinic will be detailed in the rural health unit office while the two multi-purpose vehicles will be at the Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Office.
The mobile clinic, which is worth some PHP7.5 million, has an X-ray machine and generator, medical X-ray processor, X-ray examination room, three channels of digital electronic cardio graph (ECG), full digital 3D-4D ultrasound, emergency lights, fire extinguisher, and air conditioning system.
On the other hand, the two multi-purpose vehicles have a total worth of PHP2.8 million.
Personnel of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) provincial office also witnessed the blessing of the two brand new multi-purpose vehicles funded through last year's Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) and with counterpart from the Baler LGU.
This municipality received a PCF amounting to PHP2.3 million for fiscal year 2019.
PCF is a cash grant to LGUs that are awarded with the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
The SGLG, also known as "Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal", is being awarded by the DILG every year to deserving provinces, cities and municipalities that perform well in various fields. (PNA)

Extension of Replacement Period for Livestock Sold on Account of Drought on Cook & Co. News
New Post has been published on https://cookco.us/news/extension-of-replacement-period-for-livestock-sold-on-account-of-drought/
Extension of Replacement Period for Livestock Sold on Account of Drought
Notice 2019- 54
SECTION 1. PURPOSE This notice provides guidance regarding an extension of the replacement period under § 1033(e) of the Internal Revenue Code for livestock sold on account of drought in specified counties.
SECTION 2. BACKGROUND .01 Nonrecognition of Gain on Involuntary Conversion of Livestock. Section 1033(a) generally provides for nonrecognition of gain when property is involuntarily converted and replaced with property that is similar or related in service or use. Section 1033(e)(1) provides that a sale or exchange of livestock (other than poultry) held by a taxpayer for draft, breeding, or dairy purposes in excess of the number that would be sold following the taxpayer’s usual business practices is treated as an involuntary conversion if the livestock is sold or exchanged solely on account of drought, flood, or other weather-related conditions.
.02 Replacement Period. Section 1033(a)(2)(A) generally provides that gain from an involuntary conversion is recognized only to the extent the amount realized on the conversion exceeds the cost of replacement property purchased during the replacement period. If a sale or exchange of livestock is treated as an involuntary conversion under § 1033(e)(1) and is solely on account of drought, flood, or other weather-related conditions that result in the area being designated as eligible for assistance by the federal government, § 1033(e)(2)(A) provides that the replacement period ends four years after the close of the first taxable year in which any part of the gain from the conversion is realized. Section 1033(e)(2)(B) provides that the Secretary may extend this replacement period on a regional basis for such additional time as the Secretary determines appropriate if the weather-related conditions that resulted in the area being designated as eligible for assistance by the federal government continue for more than three years. Section 1033(e)(2) is effective for any taxable year with respect to which the due date (without regard to extensions) for a taxpayer’s return is after December 31, 2002.
SECTION 3. EXTENSION OF REPLACEMENT PERIOD UNDER § 1033(e)(2)(B) Notice 2006-82, 2006-2 C.B. 529, provides for extensions of the replacement period under § 1033(e)(2)(B). If a sale or exchange of livestock is treated as an involuntary conversion on account of drought and the taxpayer’s replacement period is determined under § 1033(e)(2)(A), the replacement period will be extended under § 1033(e)(2)(B) and Notice 2006-82 until the end of the taxpayer’s first taxable year ending after the first drought-free year for the applicable region.
For this purpose, the first drought-free year for the applicable region is the first 12-month period that:
(1) ends August 31;
(2) ends in or after the last year of the taxpayer’s four-year replacement period determined under § 1033(e)(2)(A); and (3) does not include any weekly period for which exceptional, extreme, or severe drought is reported for any location in the applicable region. The applicable region is the county that experienced the drought conditions on account of which the livestock was sold or exchanged and all counties that are contiguous to that county.
A taxpayer may determine whether exceptional, extreme, or severe drought is reported for any location in the applicable region by reference to U.S. Drought Monitor maps that are produced on a weekly basis by the National Drought Mitigation Center.
U.S. Drought Monitor maps are archived at http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/Maps/MapArchive.aspx.
In addition, Notice 2006-82 provides that the Internal Revenue Service will publish in September of each year a list of counties1 for which exceptional, extreme, or severe drought was reported during the preceding 12 months. Taxpayers may use this list instead of U.S. Drought Monitor maps to determine whether exceptional, extreme, or severe drought has been reported for any location in the applicable region.
The Appendix to this notice contains the list of counties for which exceptional, extreme, or severe drought was reported during the 12-month period ending August 31,
Under Notice 2006-82, the 12-month period ended on August 31, 2019, is not a drought-free year for an applicable region that includes any county on this list. Accordingly, for a taxpayer who qualified for a four-year replacement period for livestock sold or exchanged on account of drought and whose replacement period is scheduled to expire at the end of 2019 (or, in the case of a fiscal year taxpayer, at the end of the taxable year that includes August 31, 2019), the replacement period will be extended under § 1033(e)(2) and Notice 2006-82 if the applicable region includes any county on this list. This extension will continue until the end of the taxpayer’s first taxable year ending after a drought-free year for the applicable region.
SECTION 4. DRAFTING INFORMATION The principal author of this notice is Lewis Saideman of the Office of Associate Chief Counsel (Income Tax & Accounting). For further information regarding this notice, please contact Mr. Saideman at (202) 317-7006 (not a toll-free call).

Every year I see people posting photos of spring blooms, I tell myself we’re going to go see them too. But every year, we plan too late, and they’ve already come and gone. I’m not much of a flower kind of girl (Jacob knows I will take food or booze over flowers any day), but there’s something I love about a whole field of flowers! If they were bugless, I could hang out in them all day.
This year has been the perfect storm for the in southern California. Since I’m already obsessed with making daily lists for myself, I decided the best way to get myself to go is to come up with a list of places I want to go see them.
Timing is key with the , and the low desert is already seeing blooms right now (early March) and it’s predicted to last in the high desert until June. Don’t miss your chance to see them!

Essential Tips for Visiting and Photographing the Super Bloom
Photo Tip – There are ways to photograph yourself “in” the flowers without going off trail. Shoot with a long lens and at a low vantage point. That will bring the distance of the flowers and you closer together and will also hide the trails.
When you see people post about the super bloom, go ASAP. We saw entire fields disappear in a couple days because they’re being eaten by caterpillars. Did you know they eat 200 times their weight in flowers and leaves?
Please respect the flowers so that others can enjoy them too.
See wildflower updates on Desert USA. Other sites haven’t been as accurate and left us disappointed. Make sure you pay attention to posting dates and visitation dates since they may differ. You can also see who’s posting recently on I usually look in the captions or ask when they visited, since a lot of them could be latergrams.
What to Pack for Your Visit
!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + '://' + 'widgets.rewardstyle.com' + '/js/shopthepost.js';d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') {window.__stp.init();}}(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script');

DID YOU MISS THE Spring Bloom SEASON in California?
If you miss the flowers in SoCal head up to the PNW. The flowers bloom later there. Check out the best hikes to see Pacific Northwest Wildflowers.
I’ve always wondered by definition what qualifies as a wildflower (I mean… aside from the genetically modified ones… didn’t all flowers come from the wild?) Maybe you already know this, but in case you were wondering, I finally looked it up after all these years. ha! It’s simply a flower that grows without any care or nurturing. However, if you take that same flower and plant it in your garden, then it no longer is a wildflower if you intend to keep it alive longer than its natural lifespan (florists / botanists, does that sound about right?).
Do you have any favorite flowers? Have you been to any of these spots? Out of these places, where would you be most interested in visiting?
Did you enjoy this post? Pin it for later

Lucban Church The San Luis Obispo De Tolosa Parish Church (also Saint Louis of Toulouse Parish Church), commonly known as the Lucban Church, is a Roman Catholic parish church located in Lucban, Quezon, Philippines under the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lucena. Its titular is Saint Louis of Toulouse. The church follows the baroque design. It has a three-storey facade. The second level features semi-circular windows flanked by Corinthian columns and niches containing statues of saints. The church also has an octagonal, three-story belltower standing on a square base. Franciscan priests Father Juán Portocarrero de Plasencia and Father Diego de Oropesa de San José, known as the Apostles of Laguna and Tayabas, Quezon, established the visita of Lucban in 1578 and started evangelizing the people of the town.It was elevated as a parish in 1595 under Father Miguel de Talavera alongside the construction of its first church made of wood, dedicated to Saint Louis of Toulouse… #Lucban http://bit.ly/2VxTFwE

Byaheng Baler: Womanlalaboy's Travel Guide to Baler, Aurora
SUMMARY
Type of Travel: DIY Date of Travel: most recent visit is Feb 2019 Duration: 4D 3N Budget: P4, 200 - P6, 000 Where we stayed at: Rushie’s Point
I've been to Baler a couple of times and I have to admit: I haven't seen everything there is to explore yet. It's so massive and rich in natural resources, activities, interesting people, culture and history, you'll never run out of treasures to discover and experience. Nothing less to expect from a place nestled by the mountains of Sierra Madre and touched by the Pacific Ocean.
Most travelers visit Baler for 2 days and a night just to try surfing and of course tour around Baler and it’s neighboring towns. A few would stay another night to maximize their visit, but we always visit Baler for 4-days and 3-nights to chill, surf and catch up with the local friends we’ve made there.

Long itinerary, I know. We did the tours on our first stay in Baler, but the next few visits were mostly filled with surfing, road trips, drinking and eating. The friends we’ve made there were just so fun to hang around with that we always treat them to drinking; we always end up laughing and singing the nights away. So, needless to say, most of our budget went to food and drinks which we could simply cut had we restrained ourselves from abusing our livers.
HOW TO GET THERE
Primary route: Genesis Transport Service Cubao > Baler Terminal
Alternate route 1: Any bus from Cubao bound for Cabanatuan Central Terminal, Nueva Ecija (Five Star Bus, Cubao Terminal, ES Transport) > Cabanatuan Central Terminal > Baler Terminal
From Cabanatuan Central Terminal, you can board any of these buses: D-liner, Lizardo lines, PUVans, Maria Aurora bus lines, Ma. Aurora Express, Genesis transport
Alternate route 2: From Baguio City, board any of these buses: D-liner, Lizardo lines
Genesis Transport Service offers various bus transport options. They have the standard air-conditioned buses, commonly called as Genesis buses that travels for 7 hours with 3 stop overs for P450 fare. They also have luxury buses, commonly called as Joy buses that travel for 4 to 4 1/2 hours with no stop overs, but they have toilets inside. The price would depend on class:
Deluxe: P750/trip with free water, snacks, morning kit, blanket, pillow, and WiFi Semi-deluxe: P630/trip with free water, snacks and blanket
We basically went for the cheapest way to get to Baler and that is to take the standard Genesis bus from Cubao. We had to endure 7 hours of travel that could get at around 4 hours had we chosen to ride Joy bus. All was well, though. We spared some money that we can splurge on food and drinks. On our way back, we chose to board an Aurora Bus bound for Cabanatuan and from Cabanatuan, we boarded a bus to Cubao. That route proved to be cheaper than boarding a bus straight from Baler to Cubao.
SAMPLE BUDGET
900 - Transportation (depends on where you'll come from and what type of transportation you’ll avail) 375- Tour (will depend on how many tours you’ll get and how many are you in the group) 1600 - Accommodation per head (room for 4D 3N for 3 pax) 700 - Surfing lesson (2 sessions) 1000- Food and beverages ________________________________
4375- TOTAL
The budget is easy to play around with. Basically, you have a fixed allocation for your main transportation and your accommodation. Your budget would depend on what type of room you’ll get, for how long you’ll choose to stay, how many tours you’re gonna get, how many surf lessons you’re gonna avail, and how many are you in a group. Lodging by group proved to be the most sulit way as you can get rooms at a price you can divide among each other. The same goes with food, drinks and tour packages. Most inns and hostels have shared kitchen so you can just buy your food in the market or straight from fishermen and cook your own food. We do this with our boodle fights and breakfasts.

WHERE TO STAY
A friend referred us to someone who dealt with our accommodation. We first stayed at Rushie’s Point- a beach front lodging with a bar/pub, and a few huts. We went on an off-season so we only had to shell out around 1, 600/head for 3pax for 4D 3N. Contact them directly for rates and reservation policy.
We then made a friend with someone who has a kubo and a few surf boards for rent so on our future visits, Kuya Danny Boy’s kubo became our go-to place.
There are so many other lodging options around the area, but I’ve listed a few sulit options:

POINTS OF INTEREST:
Sabang Beach
This long stretch of shoreline facing the Pacific ocean is probably the most visited place in Baler. Friendly to newbies in surfing, most travelers conquer their fear of riding waves at Sabang. We usually surf in front of Tower (Near Nalu) and in front of Frus Oyat.
Century Old “Millennium” Balete Tree
Found in the town of Maria Aurora, you can marvel at the largest Balete tree in Asia that is said to have existed for more than 600 years now. It’s so enormous that you can go inside its tangled maze.
LT. James Gilmore Marker
At the corner of San Luis St. and Rizal St. stands the Lt. James Gilmore marker. He was the commander of the USS Gunboat ‘Yorktown’. He and his men were captured by insurgent forces save two (2) who were instantly killed and two (2) mortally wounded. Lt. James Gilmore and the survivors were taken to Nueva Ecija and then to Northern Luzon where they were later rescued by American forces and taken to Manila.
San Luis Obispo Parish (Baler Catholic Church)
The Baler Catholic Church is the site where the Siege of Baler happened. Filipino revolutionaries laid siege to the fortified church manned by colonial Spanish troops in the Philippines for 11 months, or 337 days.
Museo De Baler
The town proper is filled with reminders of the past and Museo De Baler is definitely a place to visit. Several artifacts are to be found in the museum- from riffles used by the Spaniards, journals , military uniforms of both the colonizers and the FIlipinos, letters, books, drawings. The museum also features the cold cast facade made by sculptor Toym Imao, the son of National Artist for the Visual Arts Abdulmari Imao.
Doña Aurora Ancestral House
The fee for checking out Museo De Baler includes a pass to Doña Maria’s ancestral house. The province of Aurora is named after the beloved first lady, Aurora Antonia Aragón Quezon who was born in Baler. Photos of the President Manuel L. Quezon, Doña Aurora and their family is preserved in the ancestral house as well as some old furniture.
Quezon Memorial Park
Manuel L. Quezon has a replicated nipa hut in Quezon Memorial Park. It also features the presidential car he used during his term and a 230-kilo bronze statue of him by Julie Lluch at the center of the park.
Ermita Hill
When the tsunami called Tromba Marina devoured Baler, the survivors went up to Ermita Hill situated in Mt. Dibudalan at Sitio Dicaloyungan, Barangay Zabali, Baler, Aurora. This place has a view of Baler Bay, Dima-Dimalangat and Aniao Islets.
Caunayan Falls
This gem is located in Pimentel, San Luis, Aurora and requires to be trekked, but compared to Ditumabo, the time you’ll spend trekking towards the falls is relatively smaller. If your guide knows the place well, he’ll be able to drop you off somewhere closer.
Diguisit Falls
A few minutes away, you’ll be able to sample Diguisit Falls at Sitio Diguisit, Barangay Zabali, Baler, Aurora. It’s right beside the road and has to be climbed first. It can get really slippy and muddy at times so people are advised to be very careful when climbing Diguisit Falls.
Diguisit Beach and Rock Formations
We had a picnic here when we celebrated Dan’s victory at the 11th Aurora Surfing Challenge. He won the long board division and celebrated by Diguisit Beach. I’m not sure if we got a discount, but we only got a cottage for P100.00
Baler Fish port
Baler Fish port can be found in Barangay Zabali, Baler, Aurora- the perfect place to chill at.
Baler Hanging Bridge
This bridge was originally made to accommodate the students of ASCOT. For a minimum donation of P5, you can see the view of Tibag-Sabang River and bring with you the bragging right of literally crossing a river.
Dicasalarin Cove
We’ve never been here yet, but we were told that there’s a fee of P300 per person to experience this privately owned cove by the Angaras. The road towards Dicasalarin is also a fun-filled one since you’ll be able to see the sea while you’re on your way to the cove.
WHERE TO EAT
We ‘re really used to doing boodle fights and cooking our own food whenever we can, but there are times when we’re just too tired to go to the market and cook, so we always visit the same places to eat. Basically, our go-to breakfast is either El Teodoro for their Tapa flakes and Nalu Surf Camp for their breakfast meals. If you like a huge variety of options, try Rolling Store, a series of karinderias or turo-turo located in the town proper. We’ve also had dinners at Yellow Fin- a little pricey, but every order can be shared within a group of 4.
NOTES
Be responsible with your trash. There aren’t many trash bins by the beach so it’s best to bring your trash with you and throw them in a bin once you get to your hotel/lodging.
Baler people are the most hospitable and most humble people I’ve ever met. Make friends with the locals and hear their stories.
Listen to your instructor/s.
Do boodle fights.
