One thing I really dislike when reading posts is when people state something as fact when it's hearsay at best. "Furina was the first person to receive a vision from Neuvillette." "Arlecchino gets rid of orphans that aren't good enough to become child soldiers."

If something is implied, say it's an implication. If something is assumed, say it is an assumption. Even if someone is guilty by association doesn't necessarily mean they do it themselves. Don't pass things as fact unless it's explicitly stated, no matter how much it sounds like it could be true.

Venti gives off the vibe that he had a history of remembering the horrors but its been so long that he has accepted it and mostly moved on. He has gotten to the point in his journey where he's just vibing :) he is happy! A happy little guy surrounded by people who care about him and they make him smile as much as he makes them smile

Venti being one of the very few archons who are participating in good self care and healing mentally is the best take. He’s got a nation that’s self sufficient, he can walk around and do something he enjoys without worry, and he’s got good people around him :)

i finally started to read all of the character lore and voice lines in genshin and it gets...surprisingly deep. like, i didn't expect that much character depth from barbara ok??

but also, i fell in love with thoma. i liked him during the archon quests but he's such...such a househusband haha. adorably diligent. his jpn va also suits him so well! i was genuinely impressed by the nuance in some of the voice lines.

genshin can be a little hit or miss with the vas, even the jpn ones. the line delivery is polished as hell as always in jpn, but some of the type casting or character interpretation can be a little off. like, i'm sorry, did they just pick kamiya hiroshi for neuvillette because he's an a-list voice actor? i think kamiya did great in the role, and if there was only one version and that version was jpn, i would think it was genuinely suitable. his voice, just, doesn't match the vibe the other vas give off. a similar thing happened with eng tighnari before they switched his va - chinese, jpn, and korean all had the same vibes and eng was the odd one out.

anyways, had to get that off my chest lol. on a more positive note, nothing delights me more than finally having venti! ayumu murase suits him perfectly, and i love his performance. the fact that he's venti's only male va is hilarious. also, i will keep saying this, but kakihara tetsuya as wanderer is perfection. he does that sort of bratty, arrogant role so well.

on a side note, i really wish they would invest in character songs from the jpn side...some of them can actually sing!! i don't follow the korean side at all, but the chinese vas sing occasionally and it's great.

If the creator had the power, and truly loved all their humans and archons, why let Fontaine drown?

Furina, who when an impostor appeared, received the same order as every other archon- hunt down the imposter, the heretic who defied their revered creator, and destroy them and their treasonous behaviour.

Furina, who during the search, wondered if she would be hunted down with the same vigor if others would learn of her duplicity.

Furina, who found you in a grotto only able to be accessed underwater, who saw the way the creatures of the sea attempting to help you patch up the wound in your side, spilling golden blood, and realized her faith was misplaced with far more ease than any other archon could have mustered.

Furina, who helped her creator heal in that grotto, apologies soft and regretful on her lips. She should have realized sooner; After all, she knows how easy it is to impersonate a god.

the thing about venti is that he doesn't embody freedom so much as he nurtures it. venti is who he is today because the people taught him to love and he returned that tenfold. the people were the first to teach him autonomy and freedom, and his response is to protect that ideal

I just really love mondstadt's relationship with their "absentee" archon a lot. there's something almost poetic about how just by being themselves, they sort of "created" their own god. a wind wisp became their archon by observing and living with them (ofc I'm oversimplifying it)

as described in freedom sworn, it's the anemo archon who actually takes on his region's characteristics, not the other way around. it is not that mondstadt is the nation of freedom because of venti, but that venti is the god of freedom because of mondstadt. and now you have that same archon asking what I will argue is actually the best quote of genshin, "what is freedom when demanded of you by a god?"
