Ann Louise Brooks Yates, age 70
Ann Louise Brooks Yates, age 70, of Wilkesboro, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at her home. She was born October 27, 1946 in Wilkes County to Claude Henry and Helen Louise Opitz Brooks. She was a member of Oakwoods Baptist Church. Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband, Junior Yates; daughters, Joy Yates Watkins and Douglas of Taylorsville, Deborah Haymore and husband Michael of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Katherine Victoria Watkins, Katelyn Brooke Watkins, Derrick Scott Whisnant, Michael James Whisnant, Aaron Matthew Haymore; great granddaughter, Arianna Yount; future great grandson, Braxton James Whisnant; and brothers, Lin Brooks and wife Pat, Kenny Brooks all of Wilkesboro.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Robert Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday night. The family has requested no flowers. Memorials may be made to Pruitt Hospice, 902 West D Street, Suite B, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Alfred Quincy Adams, age 85 of Wilkesboro, formally of Millers Creek, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Avante of Wilkes.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 21st, 2017, at Reins Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Scott Church and Bishop George Morgan officiating. Burial with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 will be held at Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:45 until 10:45 prior to the service at Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mr. Adams was born September 30th, 1931 in Wilkes County to James Lewis and Emily Faw Adams. He was self-employed as an Upholsterer. Mr. Adams was a member of Mtn. Valley Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Betty Louise Caudill.
He is survived by a sister; Magdalene Tribble and husband Michael of Millers Creek.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Baptist Church, 1264 Mtn. Valley Church Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.

Lester Harrison Anderson, Jr., age 78, of Millers Creek, died Friday, March 17, 2017 at his home. He was born May 31, 1938 in Wilkes County to Lester Harrison Anderson, Sr. and Lola Mae Stone Anderson. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Wingler Anderson; sons, Benny Anderson and wife Shirley of Millers Creek, Randy Anderson and wife Donna of Sheets Gap, Michael Anderson of Wilkesboro; brother, Junior Anderson and wife Opal of North Wilkesboro; sister, Sue Hayes of North Wilkesboro; seven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Mr. Peter “Pete” Lee Williams, age 78 of Wilkesboro, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 21st, 2017 at Pilgrim Baptist Church with Rev. Derek Kilby and Rev. Rex Eldreth officiating. Burial with Military Honors by Post 1142 Honor Guard, will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Williams was born February 1st, 1939 in Wilkes County to Solomon Randolph and Molly Sparks Williams. He was retired after 26 years with Lowes Food. Mr. Williams was an active member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. Mr. Williams managed Dons Mountainair Seafood for many years. He served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife; Ozell Faw Williams, daughter; Sherrie Williams Joines and husband William of Wilkesboro, son; Tommy Williams and wife Pam of Millers Creek, five grandchildren; Megan Williams Eller and husband Westley of Purlear, Ethan Andrew Williams and wife Rachel of Millers Creek, Ashton Joines of Wilkesboro, Callie Joines McNeil and husband Tyler of Purlear and Ezra Given Williams of Yadkinville, three great grandchildren; Lily Shay Eller of Purlear, Easton Taft Eller of Purlear and Sara Grace Williams of Millers Creek.

Mr. Bill Greene Blevins, age 59 of Hays, passed away Thursday, March 16th, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Marsh officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Saturday evening at Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mr. Blevins was born November 6th, 1957 in Wilkes County to Bert Greene and Mary Ellen Tedder Blevins. He had worked for American Drew. Mr. Blevins was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his Father.
He is survived by his wife; Gail Greene Blevins of the home, his Mother; Mary Ellen Tedder Blevins of North Wilkesboro, two daughters; Ashley Sturgill and husband, Nathan of North Wilkesboro and Alexis Sawyers of the home, stepdaughter; Crystal Adams of Millers Creek, two sons; Tyler Blevins and Bentley Sawyers both of the home, four grandchildren; Gregory Adams, Samantha Lackey, Scott Lackey and Kaden Sturgill, one great grandchild; Carter Adams, two sisters; Martha McNeill and husband Joe of North Wilkesboro, Debbie Ashley and husband Jonathan of North Wilkesboro, and one brother; Donnie Blevins and wife Audrey of Millers Creek.

Robert Arlon Triplett, age 88
Mr. Robert Arlon Triplett, age 88 of Wilkesboro, passed away Wednesday, March 15th, 2017 at Wilkes Senior Village.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 18th, 2017 at Wilkesboro Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Hefner and Dr. Harold Dean Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 prior to the service in the church Atrium.
Mr. Triplett was born November 26th, 1928 in Wilkes County to Arlon and Edith Foster Triplett. He was retired from the Federal Government as a U.S. Probation Officer. Mr. Triplett was a member of Wilkesboro Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon Emeritus and taught the Triplett Sunday School Class, formerly the Hayes Sunday School Class for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister; Ann Hartley and a sister in law; Nancy Triplett.
Mr. Triplett is survived by his wife of sixty five years, Mary Elizabeth Steelman Triplett, one daughter; Cathy Triplett DePriest and husband Roger of Johnson City, TN, three sons; Steven R. Triplett and wife Kathy of Sherrills Ford, NC, Terry C. Triplett and wife Kim of Wilkesboro, Neal Triplett and wife Sarah of Wilkesboro, one sister; Janey Triplett Lackey and husband Jerry of Millers Creek, one brother; Ray Triplett of Wilkesboro, six grandchildren; Emily Sharpe and husband Andrew, Jacob DePriest and wife Heather, Benjamin Triplett and wife Kelley, Betsy Couper and husband Dan, Jackson Triplett, Leah Triplett and Norah Triplett, three great grandchildren; Noah DePriest, Deacon Triplett and Elliot DePriest and a brother in law; Jim Hartley of Wilkesboro.

Franklin "Wayne" Lewis Sr., age 83, of Walkertown, formerly of Wilkes County, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born July 21, 1933 in Forsyth County to James M. and Minnie Glassner Lewis. Mr. Lewis was a US Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean War. Mr. Lewis was owner and operator of Lewis & Lewis Trucking. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Bobby Gene Lewis; brothers, Vernon, Bill, John Wesley "Kit", Harry "Bud", and Blaine Lewis; and sister, Evelyn Lewis.
Surviving are his wife Lois Haynes Lewis; daughter, Helen Peddycord and husband Terry Peddycord Sr. of Walkertown; sons, Franklin Wayne Lewis, Jr. and wife Tamara of Kernersville, Danny Lewis and wife Tanya of Winston Salem; step sons, Allen Lankford and wife Robin of Millers Creek, Rick Lankford and wife Penny of North Wilkesboro, Mike Lankford and wife Jean of Alaska; sister, Carolyn Colbert of North Wilkesboro; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Miller Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Larry Reavis officiating. Burial with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard Post 1142 will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 1:00 until 2:00 on Friday, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Kate B.
