A concept that breaks my heart: imagine Bucky that eats like he doesnât know where his next meal will be coming from because, for the longest time, he didnât.Â
But nobody on the team knows because he never eats with them.
All it took was some absentminded comment from Sam the first time Bucky ate with him and Steve about how Bucky ate his hamburger in like 5 seconds. Sam didnât really mean anything by it, he was just joking around, but Bucky got incredibly self-conscious about the way he eats and stopped eating in front of everybody, Steve included.
Every time the team was eating together, heâd say he wasnât hungry or make up some excuse to get out of it but even if he couldnât, heâd eat the bare minimum only to then sneak into the kitchen later when it was empty, make more food and then eat it in his room.Â
You yourself only joined the Avengers recently, so youâve never seen Bucky during meals with the whole team.Â
But you donât think too much of it, he always says he doesnât need to eat as much which is a little weird because Steve is also a supersoldier and eats three times as much food as everybody else because of his faster metabolism, but Buckyâs serum was made by Hydra so, like everybody else, you just assume it allows him to operate with less need for sustenance which would make him a more efficient soldier.Â
But, being a person that likes to observe more than you like to talk, you start noticing small things about Bucky that no one else seems to.
It all started when he let a compliment slip about some cookies that you made for the team, which was weird because after the lunch where you all ate them as dessert, which Bucky was once again absent from, the rest of them disappeared from the kitchen less than an hour later. You assumed it was Sam, Steve, Clint and Thor since all of them always finish the things you bake, but clearly it was Bucky.
So, he does eat. You start noticing more and more Bucky sneaking around the Compound here and there and one day you canât help but give into the curiosity and follow him to the kitchen where you see him making himself food and then sneak back to his room.Â
You donât tell anybody though, or even bring it up with the man himself, instead you start saving food from meals so Bucky wonât have to make it himself and leave it out for him with notes so heâll know theyâre for him and nobody else will eat them.Â
It takes Bucky a little bit to figure out whoâs doing it, but when he finds out itâs not Steve like he suspected but you, the pretty newbie that heâs barely even talked to since you joined, to say heâs surprised is an understatement.Â
But he canât bring himself to confront you about it because he knows itâll open up a whole can of worms about his eating habits and heâs too self-conscious about that to bring it up, so instead he starts leaving notes back every time he takes the food, addressed to you.
Now imagine this goes on for weeks, maybe months even, until one day Bucky builds up the courage to show up at one of the team meals and acts as casually as he can manage as he sits down and starts to eat. Nobody says anything or even acknowledges his unusual presence because, unbeknownst to Bucky, youâve scolded everybody that tried to bring up Buckyâs eating habits over the last few months.Â
When you join the table after Bucky, as soon as you notice him all you do is grin and sit down before you start eating your own food. This is the first time Buckyâs ever actually seen you eat and his eyes widen when he sees you eat like a prisoner sentenced to death, but nobody else seems surprised or even that bothered. The entire team is used to it by now and they couldnât care less, much to Buckyâs surprise.
âYou⊠Always eat like that?â Bucky asks quietly before he can stop himself, worried about offending you the second the words leave his mouth.
But, once again, much to his surprise, you look up at him with a smile and nod unapologetically. âYeah, my dad always used to say âWhatever you do, do it a hundred percent.â That means when you work, work. When you laugh, laugh. And when you eat⊠Eat like itâs your last meal.â
Bucky looks at you with a blank expression for all of five seconds before his face breaks into a goofy grin. Not only did he already find you pretty and adorable, but after hearing you say that he thinks youâre the most attractive woman heâs ever known, even if youâre currently stuffing your face like thereâs no tomorrow.
Imagine little by little Bucky starts feeling more and more comfortable eating around others, until eventually he joins every meal the team has together. And, when theyâre all doing their own thing, he still asks you to have lunch or dinner with him and the two of you crackle at the other eating like a pig, not one hint of shame in either of you.
Anyway, just a thought.

Bucky and you have been dating for almost a year now. You were so happy with each other but lately you noticed a change in Bucky. He was spending more time with Natasha. Texting her and when she called, he would immediately pick up. You actually wanted to ask Bucky if he would like to move in with you, but you werenât sure anymore.
You were having breakfast with Bucky when someone called him. You couldnât see who it was, but he picked up immediately.
âHey Nat.â You heard him say as he left the room. After a few minutes he came back with a smile.
âIâm sorry doll, but I have to go soon. Natasha needs something important.â
âOh, but you will be back, right? Because we wanted to go to the cinema, remember?â You asked him a little sad because you had been looking forward to this movie for a while and had already bought tickets.
âOf course, Iâll be back I donât want to miss spending time with my girl.â Bucky reached for your hand and then kissed your cheek.
âHow about we cuddle before I leave?â
After cuddling, Bucky left to meet up with Natasha. You looked through the mission report again, so you could bring it with you the next time you go to the compound. Then you watched your favorite show and made yourself ready for the cinema.
You waited and looked at your phone but there was no message from Bucky. It was almost time to leave, and you werenât sure if you still want to watch the movie. But you didnât want to stay home alone either. You started to feel sad and tears formed in your eyes. You thought about calling Bucky, your finger was already over his phone number, but you decided not to bother him and Natasha. So, you put the phone away and started crying even more.
No, you wonât let Bucky ruin your plans.
You wiped your tears away and then remembered that Sam wanted to watch this movie as well. Heâs a good friend of yours, so you decided to call him. You dialed his number, and it didnât take long for him to pick up.
âHey, y/n.â He said happily.
âHey, Sam.â
âI still have another ticket for the movie we talked about and thought you might want to go with me?â
âOf course, I would like to watch the movie with you.â He said and you started to smile.
âWhen does the movie start?â
âThe movie starts in an hour.â
âWow, thatâs soon.â He chuckled.
âItâs okay if you donât have time. I can go alone as well.â
âNo, Iâm coming with you. Iâll pick you up, okay?â
âOkay, see you and drive carefully.â
You went to the bathroom and got ready while Sam made his way to you. You checked your phone again for a message from Bucky, but there was nothing.
When Sam arrived, he greeted you with a hug and then drove to the cinema.
âIs everything okay?â Sam asked after a while.
âYeah.â You mumbled and looked out of the window.
âWhat did Bucky do?â You had to chuckle and told Sam that Bucky was supposed to go with you and then you told him about Natasha. After Sam parked the car, he pulled you into a hug. He wanted to say something, but you interrupted him.
âLetâs just go and watch the movie, okay?â
âSure, do you want popcorn?â Sam asked and you nodded. Sam got the snacks while you got some drinks. When you sat down in your seat, you looked at your phone one last time. But there wasnât any message from Bucky. You put the phone away and then enjoyed the movie with Sam. You had a great time and even forgot that Bucky was with Natasha.
When the movie ended, Sam drove you back to your apartment. Before he left, he hugged you. He rubbed your back and then kissed your cheek softly.
What you didnât notice was that Bucky was standing at the other side of the street and saw you and Sam together, but from his perspective it didnât look like a kiss on the cheek. It looked like Sam kissed you on the lips and when Sam turned away, you were smiling.
Bucky didnât want to see you anymore, so he turned around, walked back to his car and drove to the compound.
The next day didnât go as you thought it would. You were still sad because of Bucky and when he sent you the following message you were even sadder.
âHey, do you have time? We need to talk.â
A tear began to run down your cheek because you knew what this would mean. You ignored it for a few minutes but then texted him back.
âHey, yeah Iâm at home.â
âOkay, Iâll be there soon.â
You didnât have to wait long until you heard Bucky knock on your door. You opened the door and Bucky walked in.
âHey.â He mumbled.
âHey, Bucky.â
âY/n, we need to talk.â He said and you nodded. It was a bit weird for you to hear Bucky calling you by your name because he usually gives you petnames. Bucky started playing with his metal hand, looking at the ground for a second and then he looked back at you.
âSomething has changed between you and me.â There it was, exactly what you thought he was going to say. At first you didnât know what to say, so you just nodded.
âYeah, thatâs true. Especially since you donât have much time for me anymore.â You decided to say.
âWhat, thatâs not true.â
âOh, really? And what about yesterday? When were we supposed to go to the cinema together?â You said in an angry tone.
âOh, I bet you had great company there.â Bucky provoked and you shook your head.
âActually, youâre right I had.â
âYou know what? It really doesnât make sense with us anymore. Itâs over.â Bucky snapped and you took a step back.
âOkay, great.â You shouted.
âYeah, great.â Bucky said and left your apartment without looking at you. When Bucky closed the door, you started to cry. You walked into your room and noticed one of Buckyâs shirts laying over your chair. You grabbed it and threw it out of the room. You laid down in your bed and cried all day long. Maybe it was for the best and Bucky and Natasha will be happy together.
Over the next few days and weeks, you tried to avoid Bucky as much as possible. You only met him when you really had no choice, like in a meeting or on missions. You found a few of his things in your apartment, packed them all into a box and placed them beside his room on the compound. Sam spent more time with you, trying to be there for you as best as he could.
It had been two months since your breakup with Bucky. Itâs been sad and frustrating two months. You missed Bucky so much, just like he missed you.
When you arrived at the compound for a meeting that day, you never imagined that the day would end the way it did.
The meeting went well, and Fury has decided that you, Natasha and Steve will go on a mission tomorrow. At first you werenât happy that Natasha will go on the mission with you, but there was nothing you could do about it, so you had to accept it.
When you saw Bucky in the living room with Steve and Sam, you decided to go training for a while before you leave. When you entered the training room you saw that Natasha was there as well. You decided to not pay much attention to her and just do your thing. You trained for a while and then took a short break. You sat down on a bench. After a few minutes Natasha joined you. You sat there in silence for a while until you decided to say something.
âI hope you and Bucky are happy together.â Natasha looked at you, had a confused expression on her face and then started laughing.
âYou think me and Bucky are a couple? Weâre definitely not, me and Barnes are just good friends.â She said after she stopped laughing. Now you were the one who was confused.
âBut you were when we broke up, right?â
âNo, we definitely werenât.â
âI donât understandâŠbecause I thought that was one of the reasons we broke up.â
âWhat?â Natasha asked confused.
âYou and Bucky were hanging out a lot and I assumed there was something going on between you two. So I thought that was one of the reasons we broke up.â You said and went quiet again.
âWait, we were just hanging out so much because...â She paused for a moment but then said more.
âWell, I guess I can say it now. I helped Bucky with something. He wanted to prepare something for your birthday.â
âReally?â You asked and Natasha nodded.
âBut I thought there was something between you and Sam?â Natasha asked, raising an eyebrow.
âMe and Sam? What?!â
âBucky saw you and Sam kissing.â
âWhat, but we never-.â You wanted to say more, but then you remembered Sam kissing you on your cheek. What if Bucky saw you, but for Bucky it looked like Sam kissed your lips?
âI have to find Bucky.â You said, stood up and ran to the door. You run up the stairs and into the living room looking for Bucky.
When you were having this conversation with Natasha, Bucky was having an almost similar conversation with Sam. Sam told Bucky that nothing happened between the two of you and that he was just there for you.
âI have to find Y/n.â Bucky said and ran out of the room.
When you reached the living room, Bucky was no longer there, so you decided to check in his room. As you ran up the stairs you bumped into someone. When you looked up you saw that it was Bucky.
âBucky.â You said his name at the same time as he said your name.
âNatasha told me thereâs nothing going on between you and her.â
âAnd Sam told me there was nothing going on between you and him. And what I saw was just a kiss on the cheek.â
âYeah, thatâs true.â
âOh, doll. Iâm so sorry I saw you and Sam and I thought âŠI really thought there was something going on. If we only had talked better with each other that day instead of just assuming things.â Bucky looked away and you reached for his hands.
âThen we would probably still be a couple.â You finished his sentence, Bucky nodded and looked at you.
âDo you think you can give me another chance?â Bucky asked with a sad look in his eyes.
âYes, but we should talk better from now on.â
âDefinitely.â Bucky started to smile, and you pulled him into a hug.
âOh, doll. I missed you so much.â Bucky said as he hugged you tightly.
âI missed you too.â
âNatasha told me that she helped you prepare something for my birthday.â You confessed as you broke the hug.
âYeah, thatâs true. Did she tell you what it was?â
âNo, she didnât.â
âOkay, then I hope youâre excited for your birthday surprise.â
Youâre happy to give Bucky another chance. Although it will certainly take some time for you to forget what happened, you and Bucky will try to communicate better in your relationship from now on. Because it wasnât just his fault, it was yours too, but youâre so happy to have Bucky back.

Miss Americana & The heartbreak Prince
Bucky Barnes x Reader (AU)
In no world were you meant to be together, but in every universe, you were meant for each other.
A/N: I present you grumpy sunshine wrapped in enemies(ish) to lovers with Beefy Boxer/Biker Bucky.
Written in Third POV. No use of Y/N. However, the reader is referred to as a female. Likes, comments, reblogs are VERY VERY highly appreciated.
Also, I tried to be as inclusive as possible. But my delusion couldn't be controlled I'm sorry.
Ngl this is for me more than anything.
Also, I'm thinking about making this its own universe and maybe write more of it. Tell me what you think

You hated Bucky Barnes, and he hated you.
The two of you should have never crossed paths. Your worlds should have never met. But the wall separating you could only hold for so long.
The infamous boxer was a phenomenon in his field. Unbeatable and astute, Bucky Barnes held his reputation with pride. He was stronger than all and the smartest the game had. His jab was as numbing as the winter. His techniques were as calculated as a soldier's. Bucky Barnes was as hard as nails. A legend.
To keep up with the notoriety, it was rumoured that Barnes and his team were also a biker gang. It was never confirmed, but the black leather jacket he always had on, the long hair touching his shoulder or tidied in a low bun, the motorbike barked in front of the gym, and the intimidating sense lingering around him. It was never denied, either.
In the mornings, Bucky Barnes ran a successful gym with his two bestfriends, Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson. Both played occasionally, but only Bucky was the professional, so they were more his trainers. They also trained other players and armatures. They tried to gain other normal customers, but it didn't always work. With a reputation like theirs, attracting customers wasn't easy.
It was usually the same for nights, unless they had matches. Most of their fights were held on Stark's property. He ran an empire, and boxing was the dominant centre, led by the biggest champion. And Stark lets Bucky have it his way, just like he likes. As long as Bucky keeps on bringing these huge numbers into their pockets, both are happy and content.
So it was out of the nature for Bucky to have zero interest in the new restaurant that opened up right next door to the gym. They had their regularly frequented places. The bar run by Romanoff and Belova, a couple of blocks away from Stark's property, was more than enough. He didn't even bother to throw a glance at it. Even after he knew that the owner had come by and given out menus and promised them discounts if they stopped by, there was still nothing.
Until one night. Bucky got carried away in training. He had an important match coming up. He knew his opponent barely stood a chance, but Bucky enjoyed the thriller of the game. The sweat and blood that go into it He didn't remember a time when he didn't want to do this. It was like it was programmed so deeply in his brain. He was made for this.
Everyone left, one by one. Until then, it was only him. After so many hours, he finally got tired. He threw his gloves aside and went to take a shower to remove the evidence of his hard work before going back home. As he was locking the gym's door, he heard his stomach growl, reminding him that he needed food. He was starving. Before deciding to wait and order food once he got home, the big sign caught his eye. They did indeed have a restaurant right next door. He admitted he was too tired to cook or wait for delivery. He needed food, then crashed into his bed. So maybe the closest restaurant would be useful.
Once he stepped in, he felt out of place immediately. His dark clothes and huge frame made him look like a stranger compared to the light-coloured painted walls. Some had flowers, and others had stars drawn on them. There were fairy lights in some corners. The aromatic scent was everywhere. Bucky almost winced at how bright and colourful everything felt. This was an alternative universe that he didn't belong in.
"Hi, how can I help you?" An even sweeter voice rang and caught Bucky's attention, breaking him from his trance of observing the place.
He turned around to find the prettiest girl he had ever seen standing behind the counter. Your beauty caught him off guard. He never believed someone could be so beautiful before. But here you were, standing. Taking his breath away.
He recovered very quickly and moved to stand in front of the counter. With the most loving smile, you handed him the menu. He took a look at the menu and wanted to laugh out loud. Dish names were just as cheerful as the atmosphere.
Out of habit, you started explaining and recommending stuff for him. He interrupted you, putting in his order. You didn't give it much thought but took his order happily.
You apologised for the lack of waiters, as it was almost closing time and it was only you. No answer. With his blank stare, you told him he could sit wherever he wanted. Only then did he notice the empty restaurant. It was just you and him. It was that late. So he took a seat at the nearest table.
Not taking much, you returned with his order. You placed it in front of him with a big smile on your face. You knew right away who that was the minute he walked in. James Barnes. The famous boxer who trains next door You have been praying after your small visit to them that they would be regular customers. The business was doing great. But the more, the merer. Always. Lots of people warned you about the men next door. But you didn't feel like they were as bad as people made them out to be. You were always so trusting, unless shown otherwise. So you were happy that, finally, one of them stopped by.
You moved away, letting him enjoy his food. Unable to fight your nature, you started talking to him as you continued cleaning the remaining parts of the place. No answer again. He didn't even bother to look at you. Okay. Maybe he had a rough day. Not all people are used to chatting.
Bucky was one of these people. His eyes widened as you started talking to him. People were never that friendly to him. People avoided him. Nobody tried to open up a conversation with him. He didn't know how to react. And he was too tired to try. So he practiced his other specialty. Silence. But even if he wouldn't admit it, Bucky found your voice calming. So he let you talk instead of just shutting you up.
You reduced your talking to a minimum. Only little remarks there and then to avoid complete silence. The second time, you heard his voice since he walked in and asked for the check. You brought the paper to the table he occupied, keeping your smile up and telling him that he got the 'neighbour discount' as you called it. You almost heard his scoff as you left him.
You had your back to the door, so you only turned around when you heard the door close. You didn't hear his footsteps, and most definitely, you didn't hear his goodbye, goodnight, or even thank you. Now that's rude.
You returned to the table to collect the check. But you found the review note you attached to every check empty. Not a single penmark. And that was more rude. You made sure that filling out the note only took seconds. You genuinely cared to hear people's opinions so you could be better and have the restaurant grow more.
So he didn't speak to you for more than two sentences. Didn't say thank you or goodbye. Didn't fill in the note. Okay, maybe you didn't want them as customers if they were all that rude.
It turns out they weren't that rude. However, Bucky was more rude than you thought.
A couple of days after Bucky's visit, you were surprised to see Bucky with another two men. You guessed they were Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson. The trio was all well-known. You doubted if Bucky was the one to recommend the restaurant. You weren't sure if he even liked the food. And you were right. He would be caught dead if he brought up the fairy world you called a restaurant. Even when it served the tastiest food he had ever had,
It was a slow day. No intense training or excessive fight preparation The three men didn't have much to do that day. So when Steve suggested trying out the restaurant, Bucky neither objected nor showed excitement.
So when they walked in, you couldn't help the feeling of surprise along with the tiny bit of happiness, hoping it would be a nicer visit this time. After preparing their orders and sending them out, you waited for a bit before you left the kitchen to greet them. Not before making sure you looked presentable.
With the small space and their loud voices, it wasn't hard to locate them. You approached them with a big smile and positive attitude.
"I wanted to make sure you were having a good time." You followed up after introducing yourself.
"The food is amazing. This burger is to die for." Steve was the first to compliment you, with Sam nodding and agreeing.
"You have one good chef." Sam added as he took another french fry into his mouth. "Send my regards to them."
"Actually, I'm also the chef." The statement caused a shocked expression to fill in their faces. They asked for details, and you briefly told them how you were the core of the small business as the owner and main chef.
The two men were polite, and they didn't seem annoyed by your chatty personality. In fact, they interacted with you and asked questions to learn more. And all they had to say were nice compliments. Except one.
"So tell me, sweetheart, what was the inspiration for the place? Was it a fairy garden or Disney's latest cartoon?" None of you were ready for the sarcastic comment Bucky threw at you.
You didn't let your smile break in the face of his sarcasm. Nor did you give much thought to the pet name. You put on a bigger smile now, looking at him.
"A bit of both." That's one thing about you: you refused to let the world change about you. You never reciprocate rudeness with rudeness.
"I can tell." Bucky was taken back by your response. He expected you to get offended, but you didn't.
"Thank you. It was my vision all along." You replied, your smile never leaving your face.
And that started your hate relationship with Bucky Barnes.
After that day, the men became regular customers. And it wasn't just the three men. Little by little, it was most of the team. First, it was just to try the good food. Then it was because they wanted to. They wouldn't admit it, but your place was like a breath of fresh air. Something so different from what they are used to. From what they are known for. From what people expected from them. And you never judged them, treated them differently, or asked about the rumours that followed them. So it was a calm change, but much needed.
But their favourite thing was yours and Bucky's constant bickering. Or more Bucky's. Nobody understood why Bucky was doing this. You never partook in his constant attempts to make fun of you. You always had a sweet response to fire back. You truly were the living embodiment of killing them with kindness.
However, he never stopped. Every time he stepped foot in the place, you claimed it was your biggest achievement. He had something rude to say. Something to annoy you with. Something to bother you. Sarcasm and jokes spilling out of him with no end whatsoever.
The number of times you wanted to punch him or snap at him right back was increasing. But you refused to give in. To let him win. He wouldn't be the one to change you. So you kept engaging with him only with gracious things to say.
Besides, you chose to think that everyone had their own battles and demons. And for sure, Bucky looked like he had lots of them. He looked rougher than most. His job made him appear invincible, but he wasn't. Nobody was. So he may drive you mad, but he deserves the gentle treatment you offered all.
Bucky had no idea why he was doing it. Why every time he saw you, he felt the urge to tease you. It wasn't like him. But he didn't fight it back.
"How are you, Tinkerbell?"
"You should buy green carpets. It will finish off the garden aesthetic."
"Here is the princess who got lost."
"The pasta was great, Barbie."
Stuff like this flew from him all the time. And not once did you get back at him. You stayed nice and polite. Your sweet self never crumbling.
There was something in you that drove him insane. Your warm eyes. Your bright smile. Your cheerful voice. Your positive mindset. Your kind heart. Your friendly nature. Your hard work. Your delicious food. Your colourful wardrobe of dresses, skirts, tops, and cardigans. He couldn't pinpoint what it was. Maybe it was all of it.
The deepest part of him knew why he was doing this. He liked you. He liked you so much. From the moment he entered your restaurant alone, the first time And the more he knew you, the more he liked you. You were special. And you were everything he wasn't. He thought if he got closer, he would be tinting you. He would bring darkness to your shine. A moral thing preventing him from speaking his truth. even thinking about it.
So he acted like a teenager. He made fun of you. In hopes of making you hate him. He convinced himself and the others that he didn't like your sunshine personality.
Until one day
It started off like any normal day. Bucky had a match coming up. So they all had something to do. The day was going fine. Up before Peter Parker, who was usually on reception duties, ran in and said there was fire in your place,
For a second, blood ran cold in Bucky's body. He heard ringing in his ears. Were you okay? He collected himself quickly, wanting to check for himself.
He threw the gloves away, almost pushing everybody out of the way to get out. And he was the first to see the chaos in the street. A firetruck was parked, and firemen were going in and out of your restaurant along with some policemen. His eyes were searching for you frantically until he spotted you.
You had some dust on your face and your white clothes. You were checking that everyone was okay and out safely. But you couldn't hide the quivering of your lips or your shaking body.
He couldn't help himself as he ran towards you. You turned as you felt someone approaching you. Without your control, your face softened, and tears blurred your sight once you noticed who it was.
"Bucky." You whispered as a way to ground yourself from all the mess that happened and is still happening.
Following his first instincts, Bucky pulled you into his chest, wrapping your trembling form in his arms and holding you so close to him. And the dam broke.
Sobs fled from you. Tears mixed with his sweat. Your fists gripped his white tank top. Your face hidden away in his chest.
You didn't know how it happened. You had been holding up well enough during it all. You had been managing the situation the best you could. However, when Bucky got here, your mind stopped working. Your mind gave up on you, letting your emotions hit you with full force, breaking down your bastion with no guarantee you would be caught.
But you were. You were braced by strong amrs, rubbing your back, laying small kisses on your hair, and whispering words of comfort in your ears. "I'm here. I'm right here." "You're okay. You're fine."
Your sobs ceased, but your body still shook against Bucky's. Tears remained to fall freely on your face. Bucky's hold was still firm but secure around you.
You only moved away from him when a policeman approached you, informing you that you were needed at the police station.
"I'm coming with you." Bucky's stern voice left no room for negotiation. It wasn't up to debate. He wasn't leaving you.
"I'll grab my stuff in a second." He turned to the policeman standing in front of you, making sure it was okay that he joined. And he got a nod of approval in return.
He left your side, walking towards the gym. He paid no attention to his friends standing by, who were puzzled by the encounter. And true to his words, he came back in seconds, his black leather jacket on, phone in hand, and wallet in hand.
He got to you, letting his hand wrap around your shoulder. The gesture was welcomed by you as you rested your head on his chest. Something about having Bucky spread calmness in you
At the police station, Bucky found out what really happened. It wasn't just fire. It was a robbery. A bunch of armed men attacked your restaurant, demanding money from you and all the people inside. As you are trying to handle the situation without panicking more, it was discovered that one of the customers was a cop, which sent the robbers into an unexpected turn. So they took all they could from the cash register and your own things before setting the kitchen on fire to run away without being caught.
Between talking with the insurance company, the bank, and watching security footage from your restaurants and the street, you spent the rest of the day in the station.
And Bucky didn't leave your side for a second of it.
He didn't leave you until you both got out of the cap in front of your apartment. And he didn't leave until he made sure you got inside safely.
Something about you being hurt sent Bucky into a spiral. Who was heartless enough to hurt such a sweet soul as you? To look at you and not want to give you everything? Bucky would never know. All he knew was that he never wanted to see you so afraid and shaken like today. To not see your smile lighting up your face. So he would do whatever it took to make sure you were always fine.
Which was why you found him by your building the first thing in the morning.
"You have lots of places to go today. Said I would join you."
And up until you were handed the keys to your restaurant brand new after the insurance company had finished the repairs, Bucky didn't leave you. He was always there. Helping you finish papers, going to the police station to identify the robbers, and buying new stuff for the restaurants. Everything. He was there for everything.
And you had to admit. It was lovely to have him. A helping hand you needed. Physically and emotionally. Someone to share this unfortunate journey with. And Bucky didn't bother it for a bit. And you appreciated having him.
So, it only felt right for him to be your first order after the reopening.
The truth was, you never hated Bucky, no matter how much you tried. His huge form, his steel blue eyes, his signature stare, his playful smirk. They all made you feel something. He made you feel something you couldn't quite understand. But it was a pleasant something. He annoyed you so much, but you never took it too seriously. Maybe he hated you, but you didn't.
Now, you didn't need him. You were ready to carry on with your life. He didn't know how to get back to normal. He couldn't. He couldn't pretend you didn't make his heart beat faster. You made his days better. But he was so unworthy of you. And he knew you could never look at him. Maybe you hated him, but he didn't.
He tried to get back to his life. Only training and matches. Only visiting your place with the others who quickly figured out what was happening. He needed to get you out of his mind. That lasted for two days.
When Bucky was closing the gym, he heard something coming from your restaurant. With a frown, he moved to see you still inside. He looked at his watch to check the time again. It was indeed late.
"What are you doing?" He didn't bother with greetings as he entered.
"Hi, Bucky." Your cheerful voice rang through the empty place.
"What are you doing?" He repeated his question, looking at the paper in front of you.
"I'm sending out advertisements and deal offerings to different places." You answered him with a smile.
"Sweetheart, do you know what time it's?" Bucky signed as he looked at you, looking clueless.
"C'mon, let's get you home." He moved towards you, taking the papers out of your hand and putting them down without messing them.
"But I have a lot to do." You tried to protest as he gathered your stuff and helped you out.
"It will still be here in the morning." And he was having none of it.
"I need to get the business going." You added.
"You can do that in the morning, too." Bucky led you out of the restaurant in spite of your complaining.
He took the key from your hand and handed it back to you after he closed up. You expected him to move away, but he didn't.
"How are you going to get home?" He hoped you wouldn't give him the answer he had in mind.
"It's not very far. I was going to walk." And it was it.
Do you not care about your safety, or do you think you are James Bond?
Bucky had to bite his tongue and not scold you right on the spot. He knew you were stressed about the business, so he didn't want to add more.
"Great. I was going somewhere there, too. Let me walk."
"You were?" You questioned him, not believing him, but he nodded quickly.
As a matter of fact, Bucky didn't have anywhere to go other than collapsing on his bed. But over his dead body were you going to walk back home alone in this hour
"Lead the way, princess." The return of the name, but a smile on your face. He may mean it as an insult. You didn't care. It sounded good coming from him.
And the two of you walked.
And somehow, without planning, it became a routine.
Bucky would finish at the gym and come straight to the restaurant. It didn't matter whether it was late or not. He would get in and wait till you were done with the day. Then he would walk you home. Sometimes, he would help with stuff, but most times, you would make him sit down and bring him tonnes of food you prepared just for him.
"You train so hard. Don't want to burn these muscles. Eat and rest."
You weren't stupid. You knew he had nothing to do with where you were living. Yet he still chose to go out of his way, walk you home, and wait until you got in. He was taking care of you. So you wanted to take care of him too.
It felt strange to Bucky. Nobody made sure if he was eating well enough, drinking enough water, and resting enough. Nobody ever did. Everybody treated him like he was a machine. Like he He needed nothing.
Then there you were. Feeding him with delicious food. Letting him relax. Laughing at his jokes. Your hands grazing softly. It was all foreign to him, but very welcome. And he was getting attached. He knew it. How could he not?
He had the sweetest and most loving person on the planet, showing him attention and care.
Bucky counted the minutes until he could be with you. Until he could walk you home, it would be just the two of you. You did most of the talking, telling him about your day or an interesting story you heard. He would tell you briefly about his day.
He loved listening to you. Every detail you shared with him. You were the first in his life to be carefree around him other than his family. You didn't let his stiff demeanour affect your friendly one.
The extra time he spent back to his place from yours didn't bother him in the slightest. He found it reassuring that he knew for sure you were safe at home. It was all worth it.
Every single one of Bucky's friends knew what was happening from the moment he asked to postpone a match to go somewhere with you when you're repairing the restaurant. And it became so clear when he stopped hanging out at Natasha's bar after matches, claiming he was tired. But, in truth, he only wanted to be with you. And the days he knew he couldn't turn it down, especially after a grand victory, he would be glued to his phone until you texted him that you were home. Then he may start celebrating.
Bucky almost punched Steve in the face when he brought up inviting you to one of the matches, or at least to hang out with the whole team at Natasha's bar. Bucky wanted you nowhere near this world. He couldn't imagine you watching him while he was fighting. You would never look at him again. Yes, you were kind, but in the ring, he was a beast. You didn't deserve to see how bad he could be.
That's why he never acted on his feelings for you. He knew he was falling for you. He knew from the start. But you deserved better. So much better.
Your radiant nature had no place near him.
He even tried to stop seeing you, feeling guilty for ever getting close to you. But he failed miserably. You gave him something nobody did. A light in the darkness.
So he bottled it and felt grateful that you even let him be your friend. Or whatever you were.
Before a fact came crushing. You were single.
The days following matches were usually very slow. So he left earlier than usual just to come and wait for you. As long as you wanted. He had a bandage on his forehead and a compression bandage around his hand.
Sometimes you forget what his job was. Until he shows up bruised and bandaged like this. You knew he was strong enough to handle himself. He was the best in the game. But you couldn't help the twinge of your heart at the thought of him hurt.
So you prepared extra food and drinks for him. Once it was evening, you kept your best table for him. You even brought the air freshener with the scent; he commented once that he liked it. Everything to help him relax.
You kept telling yourself you were only doing this because he liked to help everyone. But you knew it was very different. He was very different.
So when he stepped in, your big smile got bigger.
You tried to come and talk with him whenever you could, but it was a busy day. He had no problem. He enjoyed watching you work. You were so dedicated and smart. He wanted you to be the most successful chef and owner in the world.
But maybe he shouldn't have been watching. He should have paid attention to anything else. So he wouldn't have seen the man who had been flirting with you since he walked in.
It was taking everything in Bucky to not get up and throw the guy away. But he heard it. Your answer to his question "Yes, I'm single." And he was reminded of the cruelty of the world. You weren't his. He shouldn't be jealous. He shouldn't have been biting the inside of his mouth when the guy tried to touch your hand as you handed him his bill.
And he most definitely shouldn't be feeling like crying and burning down the world when the guy asked you out and left his number.
Wasn't that what he wanted? For you to have better than him. To have someone who wasn't surrounded by blood and pain. Someone who wouldn't defile your glimmer That guy looked decent enough. Maybe that was your chance to find love.
However, he wanted to tear that paper to pieces. He wanted to punch the guy for asking his girl. But you weren't his girl.
Bucky was conflicted by his emotions. He didn't know what to feel or how to think. So he did the thing he was the best at. He stayed silent.
You noticed right away the change in his mood. He wasn't the most talkative person, but this silence was different. He looked like he was somewhere else. Somewhere, that wasn't so nice.
"Are you sure that you are fine?" You asked as you came to a stop in front of your building.
You only got a nod as an answer.
"You know you can tell me anything. I'm always going to be here."
Your words finally made him look at you after you left the restaurant.
"You are?" His hesitant tone made you frown.
"Of course." You answered very quickly.
"Are you going to go out with this guy?" It was quiet; you almost missed it, but you didn't.
Bucky didn't know what happened. He promised himself he wouldn't bring it up. It had nothing to do with him. But he couldn't. It fell from him.
"Do you want me to?" Your reply was something he didn't expect at all.
You couldn't say you weren't disappointed when Bucky did nothing when the guy started flirting with you. You didn't know what you wanted him to do. But you wanted him to do something.
Instinctively, Bucky moved closer to you, standing right in front of you.
"No, I don't want to."
"Tell me why I shouldn't go out with him."
The space between the two of you was almost nonexistent. You were so close to each other. His blue eyes piercing into yours. His eyes were filled with something so warm that you couldn't quite figure it out.
Bucky didn't know how to answer your question. Why didn't he want you to go out with the guy? Well, he didn't want you to go out with any guy. So he threw caution to the wind and followed his heart.
You almost tripped, but his hands on your waist steadied you. The feeling of his lips on yours was something out of the world. His lips were a bit bruised, but they were soft. It was all so good that your mind stopped working.
Bucky was about to pull away and apologise profoundly when you didn't kiss him back. As he was about to move, your hands wrapped themselves around his neck, pulling him closer to you and kissing him.
The kiss was gentle, and it was filled with emotions. Loving ones. It sent electricity through your bodies. It spread warmth all over you.
Your need for oxygen made you break the kiss, hands still around each other, eyes only looking at each other.
"I thought you hated me."
"Never did. Not for a second, princess."
Bucky's lips smashed against yours once again. And it was like every piece was falling into its place. The puzzle was completed. The rainbow after the rain
You were the shining star in Bucky's dark sky. He may not deserve you, but he was going to do everything in his power to get you to shine more.
Because you were made for each other.

The GED
Pairing - Grumpy!Bucky Barnes x Sunshine!Reader Summary - There's more than one way to be smart. Or so you've been told. But how on Earth do you go about proving that you're not (the stupid, illiterate Avenger) dumb?
Anon's 1K Celebration | The GED Series List
"Can you please just listen to me?" Sam begs you. "I'm telling you this is a bad idea."
"Or it's an amazing idea and it'll all be for the better!" you counter, plating the last of your freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
He snatches a cookie from the plate when he thinks you're not watching, "Or you'll make an already strained relationship like ten times worse."
You glare at him, snatching the cookie back and placing it back on the plate, "Or by then end of the day we'll have a new set of friends."
Bucky groans, entering the room just in time to hear your rebuttal to Sam's negativity, "Please, not more friends. I don't like the ones I have as it is."
"See?" Sam wildly gestures to Bucky. "When do we ever agree on anything? It just proves that this is a terrible idea!"
"Hi," Bucky finally greets you, gently pecking your lips. "Missed you. Now, who exactly are we trying to make friends with?"
"The SHIELD agents downstairs," you blithely reply.
Bucky quirks an eyebrow at you, "Why? They hate us."
"That's exactly what I said!" Sam frantically exclaims.
"Have we ever asked ourselves why they hate us?" you muse. "Maybe we need to be a little nicer to them."
"Or maybe it's because they're bitter and jealous that we're better than them," Sam remarks.
"Well, it's definitely not because of Sam's incredible sense of humility," Bucky sarcastically retorts.
"Shut up," Sam snarks. "And we are better. Our stats are better, we get first pick of assignments, our mission times are like a third of theirs, Fury trusts us a hell of a lot more, and we get all the good snacks."
"And that means we can't be friends?" you rhetorically ask. "We work together all the time!"
"Listen, it's not that bad of a deal," Bucky tries to convince you. "They tolerate us. We tolerate them. It's never caused a problem on missions or anything, so who cares? Not everyone in this world is going to like you."
"Who else doesn't like me?" you frantically question, quirking an eyebrow at Bucky.
"Everyone likes you," Bucky assures you.
"Except the people downstairs," Sam teases.
"That's it!" You throw your hands up in frustration. "I'm going down there. I'm just going to bring these cookies down there and talk to them. They're just people, I'm sure they're all really nice!"
"Nice going," Bucky mutters to Sam, elbowing him in the ribs. "Come on, can't we just leave well enough alone? Isn't it enough that the people who actually know you like you? And not to mention, I like you and I don't like anybody."
"Aww.." you coo at Bucky, caressing his cheek. "Nope, too late, I'm committed."
"Why?" Sam groans. "You're never going to get everyone in the world to like you!"
"Oh, yes, I can! I've spend my entire time out in the world cultivating a personality that's impossible not to like just to satisfy my compulsive people pleasing tendencies."
Bucky's eyebrows furrow as a teasing smile pulls at the corner of his mouth, "People really don't see this side of you enough."
Sam nods, "You're a little scary when you think people don't like you."
"Scary or strangely endearing?" you wonder.
"Scary! Definitely scary!"
Bucky sighs to himself, pinching the bridge of his nose, "You're not going to leave this alone, are you?"
You beam at the two of them, scooping up the plate of cookies, "Not even a little bit."
"It's a bad idea!" Sam bellows down the corridor as you walk away from him.
You roll your eyes as you step onto the elevator and tell Friday to take you to the third floor, where the SHIELD agents typically hung out.
It wasn't a bad idea. It was a great idea. What could go wrong with trying to bring people closer together? They were just people. They were people you had to trust with your lives, why not get to know them a little bit more?
As you step off the elevator, you immediately notice that this layout is almost identical to the one upstairs, except without all the extravagant touches of Tony Stark. You amble down the hallway, looking for a sign of anyone. You figure if the layout is the same, their common room will be in the same place as the one upstairs.Â
You're right, you realize when you start to hear faint voices from where you thought their common room would be. Even all the way down the hall, voices echo off the walls as you make your way closer.
You certainly don't mean to eavesdrop or listen into a conversation that you're not supposed to hear.
No, you definitely don't mean to eavesdrop on your new friends, but the open floor plan does nothing to dampen the sounds of their booming voices.Â
"Yeah, I leave first thing tomorrow," an unfamiliar voice sighs.
"Who with?" someone else asks.
You don't like the way they spit Bucky's name out in disgust, "Barnes."
"Oh, he's the worst!" the same voice dramatically groans. You silently scoff at the insinuation that Bucky was the worst. "He just sits and stares like he's got nothing better to do."
"Please, I'd take him over his girlfriend any day," a different female scoffs.
You freeze at the mention of yourself. You know you should go. You shouldn't be listening to this. The things they were saying were definitely not nice, but neither was eavesdropping.
"Oh come on, she's not that bad."
You sigh in relief, feeling a little better that someone was defending you. You could go upstairs and tell Sam that he was wrong, not all the SHIELD agents were that bad.
And in the next second, you were proved very, very wrong.
"She's just such an idiot!" Your stomach twists in knots as the same SHIELD agent continues complaining about you. This is what you got for eavesdropping, you tell yourself. They're entitled to their own opinions about you. Better yet, you could change their minds and show them that there was more to you than what meets the eye. You just don't want to believe that people can be this mean, that it's so easy for them to be this casually cruel. They just didn't know you. You were sure that if they did know you all, they wouldn't be saying such awful things. "I don't know what everyone sees in her, but I swear I can see right through that whole Sunshine act."
"I dunno, she acted like that on the last mission I had with her."
"She didn't let up? Not once?"
"Nope! The whole time."
"I'd rather get caught by the bad guys then deal with her for a whole week."
"Who knows, maybe Barnes likes them dumb," the agent giggles. The words feel like a punch to the gut. You want to leave, to turn on your heels and pretend like you never heard a thing, but you're frozen in shock. "Like a Stepford Wife thing."
"If that's true, then they'll be together forever," the same agent, the one going on a mission with Bucky tomorrow, jokes.Â
"What do you think they even talk about?"
"Who knows?"
"My question is what kind of adult makes it knowing as little as she does?"
"The kind with Fury in their back pocket."
"Exactly! It's the only reason she's even apart of the team. I'd bet anything she's never even picked up a book."
"Can I tell you guys something?" an agent exclaims. "Someone got into a bunch of their files upstairs. And guess what? She can't even read! She's illiterate! An illiterate Avenger!"
Your blood runs cold. Those were private. They held so much intimate information about you and your history and they were using it to make fun of you, make fun of the people that chose to love you.
You weren't sure what was worse, that they were using your past to make fun of you, or that they knew intimate details of your past, they knew the torment you were put through as a child and they still thought it was funny, they still used it as a way to belittle you. As though you had any control over it. As though it was your fault.
It's only then that you realize that tears are staining your cheeks, that you're still standing in the hallway with a plate of cookies as a peace offering for the SHIELD agents making fun of you and your friends.Â
"Probably doesn't even know what a book is. Maybe her next mission should be a day of kindergarten."
It's mean. It's meaner than they have any right to be, but a lightbulb goes off in your head as you finally regain the ability to leave.
You furiously wiped away your tears, storming down the corridor and back to your side of the Compound. You leave the plate of pastries on the counter for your team mates.
And you made a decision right then and there. You wouldn't cry. You wouldn't try to convince them that you were smart. You would just do better. Be better. You were going to show them that you could be more than the illiterate Avenger.Â
In that very moment, you decide your very next mission: School.

Steve was unsure if the level of happiness bouncing off every surface of his brain was even possible for a human being to experience.
He thought that he had lived a life in which he experienced more than the average person ever would. Explored countries far and wide, met people of this earth and foreign universes alike, traveled through space and time, having taken lives and now creating one.
But right here, in the labor and delivery unit in the middle of Greenwood medical with his sweet Sunflower fast asleep and using his shoulder as a pillow, his leg falling off the side of the small hospital bed you insisted he snuggle you on, and his precious newborn in his arms, he new life couldn't get much better than this.
He would take spit up stained shirts, a numb leg, and his peaceful ladies using him as a sleeping apparatus any day of the week over international travel and superhero ass kicking.
He couldn't recall a time in his life where he had ever been more in love. With you, your mind, your body, heart and soul. Every time he even began to try to comprehend the level of adoration he had for you in this moment, he just started weeping.
The tears of love weren't exclusive to just you anymore, because somehow, even after two whole days of being earth-side, his cheeks still never seemed to dry when he looked down at his perfect little daughter.
Ten fingers, ten toes, and genetically half super, she was already a force to be reckoned with. After almost 36 hours of labor, Sunflower naturally birthed a 9 pound baby girl. The second she was born, cleaned up and swaddled, she was placed right into Steve's arms. Her big blue eyes were wandering around the room, and that's the moment he knew she was gonna be trouble.
The level mischief Steve could already detect in his daughter, he knew she inherited that from him. But other than the color of her eyes and the shape of her lips, she looked just like you, which meant she was absolutely perfect to him.
Though he would do anything for his daughter, he would do anything and more for you. There wasn't quite enough adequate words in the English dictionary to describe his gratitude for you. For 9 whole months you sacrificed your body for the future that you and Steve had always dreamed of, the put yourself through antagonizing pain just to give birth.
So yeah, Steve would take the sleepless nights and poopy diapers just to make sure you were getting the rest you needed and deserved to recover.
You didn't quite anticipate the vulnerability it took to go through the process of labor, birth and recovery. The amount of people that would touch your body, needing help for simple things like going to the bathroom, how weak your body would feel shortly after how powerful you'd felt during birth.
But Steve was a heaven sent Angel. Never leaving your side, he made sure you were taken care of. Constant reminders of how powerful and beautiful you were, and how much he loved you. He would pull your hair back into buns for you when you wanted it out of your face, only to take it down five minutes later when you felt like it was bothering you, just to do it all over again. He guided you through breathing exercises and mind work to manage your pain levels, some he learned from the birthing classes he attended with you, and others were techniques he personally used on battlefields. He'd squeeze your swaying hips to alleviate pain, wipe sweat off your forehead, keep your water bottle cold and filled, and completely ignored all of the very natural processes you felt embarrassed by.
Much like he had never been more in love with you, you had never been more in love with him. Especially as he got you snuggled up and cozy in bed with more than enough reassurance that the baby would be completely fine so you could snuggle up to your warm cuddly husband and get a good Power Nap in.
The first time you watched his fear of his own strength dissipate, the new born's hand wrapped around his fingers and quiet tears fell down his cheeks, or when he did skin to skin with her and she was so teeny tiny on his big and broad chest, you would've let him get you pregnant all over again. He was the gentlest giant, a paradox of fear for many but nothing but gentle love for you.
As you slept, your breathing was even and calm, you snuggled his left arm like it was a teddy bear. His right arm was occupied by the little baby, gentle snores worked past her nose as a nice reminder that she was out cold.
All was calm and peaceful until Steve could hear the competing and fast footsteps of his dumb idiot friends racing down the hallway. The closer they got, the more he cringed internally knowing that both his girls were about to be woken up by the sound of their banter.
"Stop! We agreed on this! I get to go first!"
"No, me first. I'm going to be her favorite uncle."
"Not if I beat you to it"
"As if you stand a chance."
There was rustling, shoving sounds, and what sounded like a body getting punched before it all stopped and there was a gentle knock on the door.
"Come in!" Steve called out as softly as he could, but unfortunately you had stirred awake already. "Quietly, the girls are sleep-"
"Uncle Bucky is here!" Bucky announced, his voice bouncing off the hospital walls.
"Uncle Sam is here too, but he brought presents for his niece!" He glared at Bucky.
"Uncle Bucky brought flowers for Mama, because obviously we wouldn't even be uncles had it not been for the lovely Sugar Cookie" Bucky glared back.
Steve shook his head with a smile, and your sleepy giggles sounded from right below his ear.
"Bucky, Cap, I'm happy you guys are here!" You let go of Steve's arms and opened them to greet the boys.
They both walked over and gave you some good hugs before doing the same to Steve, congratulating you both and asking how you were doing before their eyes locked on the baby.
They didn't even have to ask for Steve to know what was about to happen.
"Buck, have you ever held a baby before?" Steve questioned, getting up off the bed to hand her off to one of the boys.
He shook his head nervously, before Sam cut in. "Don't worry Steve, seasoned professional here" Sam said, stretching his arms.
"He might be a professional, but I've been saving my first time my entire life just to have the very first baby I held be yours, Pal." Bucky sassed back.
With narrowed eyes, Sam walked over to the sink and started washing his hands. "Well my hands are cleaner, which is safer for Cinnamon Roll."
"I've known Steve longer." Bucky glared. "I can wash my hands too."
"I'm Captain America."
"That's funny, I don't see you featured anywhere in the Smithsonian museum exhibit about Captain America"
"I've known sugar cookie longer." Sam used Bucky's argument.
"I've spent more time with her."
Steve looked over at you, wide eyed unable to choose who held her first. You laughed and shrugged your shoulders.
"Boys" you cut in, both of their heads snapped to look at you.
"You look beautiful, are you sure you had a baby two days ago?" Bucky complemented, playing up the charm.
"Steven Rogers you better watch out because this hot mama is gonna be attracting all the boys."
You looked at Steve's face which was now half smiling but also mixed with a raised eyebrow and a lot of confusion.
"I don't think I've had enough sleep to put up with this." Steve commented.
"Thank you, but what I was trying to tell you is that she loves you both equally, and you'll both have the rest of your lives to spoil her, okay? This isn't a competition." You explained. "Steve and I both love you, cinnamon roll loves you, which is why we're going to settle this with a game of rock paper scissors."
The boys glared at each other, then wordlessly played the game.
Rock, paper, scissors, shoot...
Sam had rock, Bucky had paper.
"Alright Bucky, wash your hands and have a seat and I'll show you ho-" Steve started.
"Best two out of three" Sam argued.
"That was fair and square." You denied with a giggle. "But I love the enthusiasm"
"Damn it!" Sam plopped down on a chair in defeat.
Following instructions, Steve perfectly placed the baby into Bucky's arms. He was a little tense at first, but then relaxed as he felt the soothing effects of a little baby bundle in his arms.
It only lasted for about 15 minutes before she woke up and started crying, you and Steve both responded to the sound as if you were on autopilot.
Sam stood up and cracked his knuckles, stretched out his neck, and held a hand out to halt the new parents. "Seasoned professional, remember?"
Steve still continued his advances towards his daughter to appease her tears, but Sam effortlessly scooped her out of Bucky's arms and started bouncing and rocking her like he had done it a billion times before.
Her sad little cries persisted causing anxiety to rise in Steve's chest.
"She might be hungry" he noted, trying to get Sam to hand her over.
"She's not hungry." Sam denied, placing her on his shoulder, bouncing on the balls of his feet and patting her back.
"Okay then she needs to be changed." Steve argued.
"Nope" Sam denied once more, continuing to pat her back. "I know this cry like the back of my hand, she just needs to bu-"
Then, the loudest burp Steve had ever heard sounded from his tiny daughter like it was nobody's business.
"And there it is" Sam smiled as her cries stopped and her head tucked into his neck with a tiny satisfied smile. "See? Seasoned professional."
Steve deflated and sat next to you on the bed with sunken shoulders.
You sat up and leaned over to squeeze his shoulders and kiss his cheek. It was obvious that he felt defeated by not knowing exactly what she needed at the moment, but he was only two days in. You'd both get it down eventually. "You're a great Dad, honey."
"That was the biggest burp I've ever heard." He noted, melting into your touch. "I've never been more proud."
"She takes after you, Steve" Bucky laughed. "But she definitely only cried because she didn't want to burp on me, obviously because she loves me more and I'm the favorite uncle."
"No, she cried because she knew Uncle Sam would take care of her. She wanted me!" Sam argued.
Then, she burped again. Only this time it was accompanied by lots of throw up all the way down Sam's back.
"Steve. Come get your daughter." Sam deadpanned.
Laughter filled the room as Bucky got up and stole her back from Sam.
"Yep, I'm definitely the favorite." Bucky stated proudly as Steve followed him to wipe her mouth with a cloth.
"She really does take after you, Steve" Sam agreed with Bucky. "But all her good looks are definitely from sugar cookie."
"Once again, I've never been more proud!" Steve smiled down at his little Cinnamon Roll, patting her round little belly with pride.

Summary: The day your husband is released from prison is the day it all falls apart.
Characters: Mob!Tony Stark, Steve Rogers
Note: This is my entry for @the-slumberpartyâ Week One Writerâs Activity. My prompts were Isolation + Mafia. I included all three items.
So I kinda tried something new... let me know what you think.
As per usual, I humbly request your thoughts! Reblogs are always appreciated and welcomed, not only do I see them easier but it lets other people see my work. Thanks to everyone who reads this one and thank you for all your energy.<3
Love you all like the boys love milkshakes. Take care. đ
The screen flicks to black. You stand with your arm outstretched, remote still aimed at the television. Your heart drums behind your ears as the banner sticks in your vision. âStark released on mistrialâ.Â
The remote slips from your fingers as your arm drops to your side. Itâs like you can see the air around you, feel it suffocating you as you breathe it in, as if youâre wading through muck. You turn and lean against the armrest of the sectional, hanging your head as you try to stop the spinning sensation.
You steady yourself and stand straight. You look down at the tremble in your hands. That you canât stop. You go to the window and look out at the fading yellow grass and the peeling wood fence. This is supposed to be the end. It is supposed to be safe.
You tug the curtains shut and turn to lean against the wall. You hug yourself and stare at the rugâs edge, the slightly fraying fabric trims the worn wooden boards. You shudder and sink down to the floor, hiding your face in your hands.
âGirl like you deserves diamonds,â Tonyâs fingers tickles your collar bone as he plays with the circle cut diamond, a weight reminder of his hold on you. âAnd every guy who looks at you, deserves to know who you belong toâŠâ
Goosebumps rise as the shadow of his touch brushes over you with the breeze that slips in the open window. Your teeth chatter though itâs barely cold enough to be anything more than balmy. You drag your fingers down to your neck to make sure thereâs nothing there. No necklace, no collar, no leash.
Heâs gone. He doesnât know where you are. You made sure of it. But that was when he was behind bars.Â
You can never be safe so long as heâs free.
A week passes without occurrence, assuring you that your paranoia got the best of you. The idea of Tony getting out is hardly comforting but youâre safe. Youâre protected. Youâre not alone.
You go about your usual routine. A breakfast of fruit and steel cut oats, a cup of espresso with a hint of cream. You watch the birds hop over the top of the fence and the bees buzzing around the dandelions.
You have walls, you have food, you arenât in pain. Youâre safe. You keep reciting that fact like a mantra. Safe. The word becomes gibberish the more you think it.
You retreat and rinse out the small cup and set it on the rack to drip dry. A simple existence. Itâs all you ever longed for in that lonely house, adorned in gems, stuck in his trap. You never wanted any of that. Not even him.
You take the basket from beside the front door and pull it open, the warmth of the sunshine fading away as you stop short on the threshold. You look down at the long stems wrapped in a white bow. The peachy orange is the same shade as those you held on your wedding day. The basket blows out of your hand with the sudden gust that surrounds you.
You stare down between your feet at the dainty petals. It canât be. Here?Â
You look out over the meadows, sprawling, lush, and green. Nothing but the ripple of the wind as it blows over the tall blades. You step back, leaving the basket to roll away and the flowers where they met you. You shut the door and lean on it, a hand on the wood as your heart hammers.
You need to leave. Now.
âFlowers,â Agent Rogers bends to scoop up the bouquet, âreally?â
âItâs not a coincidence,â you insist, âI know I sound crazy but I also know Tony. Better than anyone. You know that too.â
âI canât exactly tell the higher ups that you got some flowers. Itâs not exactly grounds for relocation,â he turns the bunch in his hand and examines the white ribbon.
âRight,â you say, deflated, âbutâ you have everything. Go back in the evidence, check the wedding photos. Rosa Independence. A twisted joke, I know. He said he liked the colour.â
âThe more I learn about the guy, the more I hate him,â he pushes his golden hair back and drops his hand, pulling back his sleeve to look at his watch, âgotta call it in. Probably wonât have a decision right away.â
You nod, uneasily shifting on your feet. You donât know how long you have to get away. Maybe youâll have to do it without him. Pack a bag and just go. Wherever you can.
âIâll see if I can stay. Standard security procedure. No reason for us to take this too lightly,â he lays the flowers across the oak table that play centerpiece to the front room, âno one should know youâre up here. So, even if theyâre not your husbandâs attempt at reconciliation, theyâre a very pointed statement.â
âThank you, Agent Rogers,â you say breathily, âIâm sorry.â
âDoing my job, nothing to be sorry about,â he says as he pulls out his phone.
You give a half-hearted smile before he strides out. You sit inside as his low tones waft in but you canât make out the words. You canât focus enough to try as the curling orange petals mock you.
âIâve been waitinâ all day for this, sweetheart,â Tony purrs into your neck as you feel the thorn stems catch on your dress. He leans you over the suede car seat as he nuzzles your throat and nips. Not even halfway to the reception and heâs got your veil askew, your skirt hiked up past your thighs. âIâm gonna fuck you just like this, every day for the rest of our lives.â
The door hits the frame and draws you back to the present. Agent Rogers tucks his phone into his jacket, âlooks like Iâm posting up here for the night.â
You nod, speechless as the memory lingers in the back of your head. You stand and cross the room, refusing to look at the table.
âPlease, can you throw those away?â You eke out.
Heâs quiet. You turn your head and watch from your peripheral as he nears the table and lifts the bouquet, the petals rustling softly. He looks at them and puts them to his nose.
âSure,â he answers at last as he retreats with the long stems, ânever understood why roses were seen as romantic. Too many thorns.â
âKinda like marriage,â you scoff as you face him again, âthank you, Agent.â
âIâm gonna be here a while. Steve is just fine.â
âCanât be too careful,â Steve says as you stare at the side mirror, watching the sun fade behind you.
âYeah,â you say mindlessly and shift in your seat, âIâm sorââ
âStop it,â he admonishes as he adjusts the air conditioner, âyouâre sorry cause what? I chose to be in WITSEC as much as they chose me. I knew what I was getting into.â
âI know but Iââ you swallow and rub your throat as it bobs, âI guess Iâm sorry for a lot of things. I lived a long time with a man who took without thinking. By proxy, I did the same. I⊠was too afraid to do anything but let him.â
âThe mistrial wasnât your fault, you know that, right?â
âMaybe,â you shrug.
âItâs not. Itâs the fâ the bought and paid for judge sitting on the bench. You know Stark, heâs got hands in everyoneâs pockets.â
âI know, but⊠I shoulda known better.â
âYou did what you had to. Thatâs all we can ever do,â Steve says, âwhy donât you turn on some music, gonna be a long ride.â
You clamp your lips shut and reach forward to flick on the stereo. You flip through the curated stations until you find a retro pop channel. No chance of AC/DC. His favourite.
You sit back and lean your elbow on the door and cradle your forehead. The skyline blurs by as you try not to think. That never works. Itâs impossible. Heâs always there, looming in the back of your mind. Just like he had for all those years.
âMust be hard,â you sit up, âdoing what you do and having a family. I canât imagineâŠâ
Heâs quiet as his eyes focus through the windshield and he switches lanes. His grip loosens on the wheel as he smoothly evens out. âEasy, actually, I donât got a family.â
âOh, wellâŠâ
âDonât you feel sorry for me. I know you donât have anyone either. I mean, I got friends, at least.â
You sniff and fold your hands in your lap. It was only ever Tony. You werenât allowed to have friends. Friends were dangerous. Friends talked. He wasnât stupid. Everyone was just playing politics, trying to take his throne. Did he ever suspect his own wife would turn him in to the DEA?
âI didnât mean it like that,â Steve says as Cherâs voice drones sonorously from the speakers, âI mean, I⊠I guess I donât know what I meant. I see all the guys I work with, they got wives they leave at home, births they miss, family dinners theyâre never home for. I just donât want all that. I donât want anyone to let down.â
âFair,â you rub your upper arm as you glance at the rearview. For a moment, your eyes meet, placid but warm blue irises with a tint of green, âand I know you didnât mean anything. I chose my path too. Tried to, in the end.â
Itâs late. Youâre restless. Like any night since the day you saw your ex on the news walking out of the courthouse. More so since you came to this new safehouse.
Maybe itâs the unusualness of having company or maybe itâs the circumstance. Youâre hiding, as good as running from your husband. You knew you always would but it just feels so futile. Like you canât get far enough away. Like thereâs nothing that can hold him back, not a cell or the justice system.
It was like he always said, Tony Stark always finds a way.
You flip on the lamp as you enter the living room. The small apartment is unremarkable. You suspect thatâs deliberate.Â
The blinds are always done and not much sunlight gets in. The place is a dour and grim contrast to your former abode. You miss the freedom of the fields and the optimism of the skies. Even if you had neither, the illusion was there.
You take the novel from beside the base of the lamp where you left it. You notice the spine is bent in a new place. You examine the curling corner of the cover, your bookmark exactly how you left it.
âInteresting story,â Steve says as he enters.
You pop your head up in surprise and rest the book against the edge of the table. Your coexistence grows easier by the day, the week, nearly a month now. His presence is comforting. If he left, youâre not sure you would stay. He kept your fear from getting the best of you.
âIâm sorry, I hope I didnât wake you up,â you let go of the book and face him.
âI was awake,â he gives a slanted grin, âI was just sneaking out to⊠grab a book.â
âThis one,â you push your fingertip to the cover. He nods guiltily.
You look over at the shelf against the wall. He follows your gaze and scoffs.
âYeah, I know,â he says, âbut none of those are holding my attention.â
You turn back to him. Heâs in nothing but a pair of grey joggers, unabashed as the vee of his pelvis peeks out above the elastic and his muscular torso tempts your eyes. You focus on his face and grasp the book, sliding it off the table. You cross to him.
âAll yours,â you hold it up to him, âIâm too tired to read.â
He gently brushes his hand over yours and takes the book. Heâs close. Very close. You can smell his sweat beneath the dissolving layer of deodorant. You can even feel the heat radiating off of him.
âNight,â you catch a yawn in your palm and go to sidle past him.
âI could⊠read to you. I think Iâm a bit behind but if you donât mind a bit of backtrackingââ
You look him in the eye, amused by the suggestion. He wants to read to you, like a child?
âYou can close your eyes, listen,â he suggests, âmight help you sleep.â
âYou donât have to do that, Steve, but I appreciate it.â
He nods and averts his eyes. His cheek ticks, âI⊠would you mind humouring me? I donât know, this place, I can hear everything. I just need something to distract me.â
You smile, a small expression of commiseration.Â
âSure, I⊠I think I need that too.â
You donât know how it happened. The gasp that escapes you is as much from the realisation as the pleasure of the situation. Steveâs tongue glides up between your folds as you arch your backs, the sheets twisted around your body as you writhe. You bring your thighs up, clamping them on either side of his head as he coaxes to his whim.
Just like any other night, you sat beside him and listened to him read. Nothing very riveting, a novel about a man on the run. You slumped against his shoulder and his hand rested on your thigh before you succumbed to the tension. You didnât think, you just did.
And there you are, puffing and whining as this man covets your body. As his hands explore your thighs and hips, gripping, groping, kneading, feeling everything with intense admiration. Your fingers twine into his golden hair, urging him deeper.
Itâs been far too long since you felt affection. Well before your husband. The intimacy is nearly overwhelming, nestling along your eyelids and threatening to overflow as you bask in the fiery warmth. A man, this man, touches you like you are a true treasure. He doesnât drag, and fling, and bend you like a toy.
You tug on his silky locks, moaning his name as he follows your desperate motion. His wet lips graze your stomach, smearing between your tits as he lifts himself over you. He hovers above you, his breath sweet with your flavour. You frame his face between your hands.
âMake love to me,â you beg, a ridiculous statement from a ridiculous dime store romance. But thereâs no other way to say it. You want to be loved, not flaunted, not used, âplease, Steve, I needââ
He crashes his lips into yours, humming as he swallows up your words. You feel his need, his desire, the same desperation coursing through him. You sling your arms around his neck and welcome him in. Even if itâs only convenient, you want to feel him. You want to feel everything he makes you feel.
For once, you get to choose what you want.
âSteve,â you croak as he opens the car door, shoving you in as the streets like gleam in your eyes, âwhereââ
âBe quiet and get in,â he orders as he ushers you into the seat.
The door snaps before you can say anything else. He quickly moves around the hood and gets in the driverâs side. He turns the key and the engine rolls over. He says nothing as he backs out, his hand on your headrest as he cranes to squint behind him.
He veers out of the lot and onto the street. You buckle your belt just before you can slide forward into the dash. You brace the door as he slows and steers neatly into a lane. You wipe the sleep from your eyes.
He sighs and pushes his head back, âwe stayed too long⊠we⊠we were stupid.â
âSteve,â you sniff, âI know butâŠâ
âIt was nice,â he admits, âit really was butâ Fuck, I could lose my job.â
âIâm sorry, Steve, I never shouldâveââ
âI made the first move,â he clucks, âplease, itâs my own fault. I just wanted it to last forever.â
Your silent as your vision blurs and you look out onto the street, the tall lightpoles bleary as your tears obscure them, âme too.â
âNorth. Thereâs a safehouse. Thatâs where theyâre sending us. You.â
âWhat? Are you⊠are you leaving?â
âI have to. Orders. Procedure. I have to hand you off to a new agent.â
âOh,â your chest pits and you hug yourself, âso this is goodbye?â
He frowns as yellow light flashes through the windows and illuminates his features. He grips the wheel and exhales heavily. His cheek dimples as he nods.
âWe have leave to stop at a motel north of Cherrywood. Weâll say goodbye there.â
Steve takes the backroads. The trip is both slow and too fast. The end draws closer and closer with an inevitability that makes your heart ache. You donât love Steve but youâll miss his easy confidence and his warmth.
You donât say much as the wheels roll on. You donât know what to say. Your respite at the hotel only left you feeling worse. All you were losing was left back in that rented room. All that youâll never know again. You know as well as Steve that this is a one way trip.
âWilsonâs a good guy,â he breaks the silence, ânice. Easy to talk to.â
Heâs not you. The thought stays where it belongs as you lean your chin in your hand, âIâm sure.â
âYouâll be okay.â
âMhmm,â you sit back and cross your arms, âwhere am I going?â
âAnother safe house, Iâd think. The less people know the better, right? Thatâs the order of things.â
âFor how long?â
He shrugs. You scratch your neck as you stretch it. Youâve been in that damn car so long, every part of you feels compressed. You square your shoulders wide and push your legs out as far as theyâll go.
He falls back into his former lull, following the winding road between the dense crowd of evergreen. Itâs oddly desolate. Even in daylight, the trunks are shrouded in blackness. You watch the passing of the great sentinels as they blur into each other, errant branches on the forest floor and twigs littered at the edge of the road.
Youâre drawn from your mournful rumination of what youâre leaving behind and the mounting dread of what comes next. You look up as the tires slow and you see a dark vehicle ahead, at the dip of the next valley. Steve eases onto the brake as he pulls up, a man against the hood of an SUV waits in a dark blue jacket and sunglasses.
You look over at Steve. He gives a nod then glances back through the windshield, âWilson.â
He doesnât wait for you as he climbs out. You follow only after a minute, trying to gather a semblance of calm. Youâve done it before. You did it for years on Tonyâs arm. You can do it again. Everything is fine. Youâre fine.
âWell, here she is,â Steve announces.
ââBout time. Iâm pretty sure I saw a bear waiting on your ass,â the other man, Wilson, comments.
Steve looks back as you linger by the car and waves for you to come forward. Reluctantly you drag your feet across the cracked tarmac. The other man flips up his sunglasses and considers you from head to toe.
âAll yours,â Steve says coolly. His indifference stings. Heâs acting, he has to.
The other man pushes away from the front of his car and nears you. You wince in surprise as he reaches to your belt. Before you can react, he has your hand and hooks a leather cuff around your wrists. He tightens the buckle and you try to pull away from him.
He jars you with a mean yank and twists your arm behind you. As he fumbles to secure your other wrist, you whimper, âSteve.â
Steve raises his chin, the sunlight reflecting in his crystal blue eyes. He turns to you and smirks, âthatâs Agent Rogers.â
âWhatâs going on?â You struggle as Wilson latches onto the link between the cuffs.
âProtective custody,â Steve declares as he comes closer. You frown as you bat your eyes, an icy dagger sinking into your chest with each step, âdoll, it was fun while it lasted, wasnât it?â
The room is freezing. You donât expect any different. Itâs one of his warehouses. Wilson brought you there, left you on that metal chair, cuffs hooked around a bar along the back, one on each ankle, binding them to the legs. You shiver and drop your head, waiting.
You knew. You knew all along. From the day you walked into the police station. It could never work. You could never escape Tony Stark. He can buy anyone; you, Steve, WilsonâŠ
A metal door rolls open loudly and clangs back into place. Footsteps echo across the concrete. As you raise your head, a shadow appears in the dim of the large door frame. A bulb above you hangs on wire, casting a sobering hue over you.
Tony steps into the umbrella of light and you sit back, raising your chin defiantly. It never does much to pout, to play nice. Itâs too late for that now. You both know what you did.
He stops in front of you, pushing the bottom of his jacket back to rest his hand on his pistol. You watch the movement, thumb brushing along the butt. You take a breath, ready.
âHi, Tony,â you look him in the eye.
âHi, sweetheart,â he steps closer and brings his other hand up to cradle your jaw, pushing your head higher, âI missed ya.â
You laugh sharply, âmissed you too.â
âYou know, a man goes away for three years and finally gets free. Heâs lookinâ forward to coming home to a warm bed, a warm woman,â his thumb caresses along your cheek, âthen he finds his house as empty as his cell.â
âLetâs not do this,â you say, âget it over with.â
He tilts his head and his mouth slants. He sucks his teeth as his eyebrows rise in resignation. He sighs as he toys with your lower lip. You feel him tugging at his belt and brace yourself. You wait, expecting the kiss of the hard barrel against your temple.
A cold metal blade slides down the top of your shirt and slices through the fabric. Tony pulls back as he cuts to the hem, the fabric falling open. You cringe and turn your face away. He rescinds the knife and spins it in his hand.
âHoney, youâre home,â he says, âand we got some catching up to do.â

"That's my good girl!"
Sam smiles as his hands move further down your hips gripping your ass as you begin to ride him harder. Still wearing all of your college clothes, your hands on his shoulders helping you to hold on down his thick cock.
"Hmmm, daddy." You moan digging your nails into his vest. "T-thank you."
"Oh baby, you don't have to thank me. If you weren't so brilliant and smart then there wouldn't be much to do." Sam continues shining a gold smile at you as his one hand holds your chin caressing your cheek with the thumb. His other hand is on your waist pushing you closer to him.
"No d-daddy!" You moan as you roll your hips. "It's you. I wouldn't have made it without you."
"Oh baby, let's just say I helped put you on the right road. Alright? Pushed you right where you needed to be."
You opened your mouth to protest more but he only pushed his finger inside your mouth forcing you to suck on it and shutting your insecure thoughts. Sure he was your professor, but he only taught you one class while you had achieved straight as across all of your classes, that's not something he could solely take credit for, this was all you.
"Look at you." He smiles more pushing another finger inside your mouth as you are using your tongue to lick around them, your brain getting a little fuzzy. "Speed it up, baby. Show me how happy Daddy makes you." He chuckles knowing you are going to eat that shit right up, pleasing him was your favorite thing in the world and you wanted nothing more than to prove yourself to him again and again.
"Mmm." You try to mumble something but it's impossible to speak and you start riding his cock again, bringing your body up and down his shaft while your hands hold onto his strong shoulders. He feels so full inside you that you can feel him everywhere making your knees fall further as you push your body towards him.
Sam finds his opportunity to nuzzle his face across your contained chest and using his teeth pops a couple of buttons of your dress shirt open. He uses the flat of his tongue on your bare skin above your bra and slowly he reaches his target pushing the fabric of your bra away. Taking his free hand to hold the base of your breast he takes your nipple between his lips and starts circling it with his tongue.
You try to speak as you moan more, wanting to chant his name but he only pushes his fingers deeper inside your mouth causing you to clench hard around his cock. He doesn't seem to mind as he continues to suck on your nipple with his eyes closed. You decide to pick up the pace, hopping up and down his cock faster, your wetness mixed with his precum and the copious amount of spit you provided allowing you to move much more freely.
Sam lets go of your nipple only to sweetly kiss around your breast and up your collarbone. You eyes stay focused on him as you try to breathe around his finger and he chuckles at you with glee. "Look at my good girl, look how good she makes me feel. Where did I get so lucky to have the most beautiful girl in the world here in my lap acing her tests and watching her bloom into her finest self?"
You want to kiss him and you move your head and he immediately understands, slipping his fingers away and crushing his lips against yours, until your lips become so entangled into one another breathing inside. You switch it up from up and down to side and side wanting him to feel all of you and take him as much you can, you are aware of how much he loves but he wants you to feel just as good as well.
It doesn't take him to long for his breaths to get shorter and you know what that means, so you roll your hips in a way that allow your pussy to clench hard on his cock, trapping him inside and making sure he'll cum right there. He chuckles as he kisses down your throat and once he can feel his orgasm reaching him, he bites down your throat to supress his moans -it's his office anyway and even if the doors and windows are locked you can never know you could possibly be passing by.
Sam shoots his cum inside you, slowly but gloriously at last and you try hard not to shout your own as you bite down your lips to keep yourself quiet. Reaching your pleasures together was your favorite thing and you almost could never finish unless he did, something that he wants so much to change deep within you.
Your arms wrap around his back and pull him closer as you collapse on his chest and he embraces you into him trying to catch his breath. He begins to overuse your name in a low chant as you are both breathing into each other.
In a couple of minutes when you will both be getting ready to leave your private tutor session, Sam will be promising you a date to remember and you know that he always keeps up with his promises.

Apologies [Bucky Barnes x Reader]
"James, seriously! We're gonna get married and you can't stop getting in harm's way, you said the Winter Sol- White Wolf thing was in your past. I'm not saying you can't do anything, save the day, go chase after who you want, but please just think about how much danger you're putting yourself in and the repercussions. The government are already monitoring you closely. I don't want them to hurt you, like that flag-smasher chick or Zemo- what if they'd decided you're next?" I rambled anxiously.
"Zemo doesn't like super soldiers Buck, I don't trust him and even though you did everything right, doesn't mean he won't decide to target you, or us. I'm much more concerned about you".
"(Printcessa) ĐżŃĐžĐœŃĐ”ŃŃĐ°, I love you but I can't do this... I need to keep going, the nightmares only lessen when I do it. I promise I won't get into stuff that doesn't involve me but I need to work through my book, I have my demons and you have yours" he said glaringly, taking a tone of frustration and concern, before letting the signature frown plaster his features.
"I can't do this either Bucky, maybe we should have a break" I sniffled.
--
I was out driving and I couldn't stop thinking about it, Bucky and I had an argument and this time it was bad.
Leaving was the only thing I could think of doing after we had the conversation, I cared about him more than anyone knew, even Bucky.
He had gotten back after everything happened with Zemo and I had no idea what was happening, he did everything by the books, despite charging into the situation most times with impulse taking over.
I loved him but I was so unsure about this, that's why we argued, Sharon was the Power Broker and had sustained injuries and it was so close to being him.
Plus I didn't like Sharon hanging around Bucky, I knew she didn't have any intentions but she killed someone without hesitation and James really didn't like that, either did Sam.
He would be steadfast and run into situations and come back to me and I'd have to deal with the injuries, the repercussions and damage, time after time and it never stopped, it was getting exponentially worse and that's why I cared, I cared because I loved him and he didn't seem to get it... Or more like he did but was being too stubborn to realise.
Even Sam was telling him to be careful to no avail, he wasn't always this brash, when Steve passed, he didn't know what to do anymore, he was lost and therefore I too, was lost- I hated seeing Bucky this way and nothing was helping, I've been happily dealing with it but I couldn't see him hurting or getting hurt without any consideration, anymore.
I drove around for a bit aimlessly, before I decided that it had been long enough and I wasn't trying to torture him, so I headed back home, the place we owned together.
"Y/n?" He said shocked, but had a smile on his face.
"Yeah I know I've fucked up, y/n, let's talk about it inside" he said apologetically.
I followed him through the front door and into the lounge room.
"I just don't know how you can keep doing it Bucky, you know how much I love and care for you, I know it's part of you and who you are but we're an us now and I need you around... Especially if we're going to have a family" I sniffled, trying not to let tears escape my eyes.
"Y/n I know, I know baby" he said sweetly, placing his metal hand on my back and rubbing it affectionately.
"We've always gotta be prepared, I'm trying to minimise threats to us, I'm going to be more careful I promise. Everything will be okay" he sympathised.
"Okay Buck I trust you, I just get scared" I sighed as he pulled me into a big hug.
He placed a kiss on my cheek, before he took my hand in his and squeezed it reassuringly.
"I love you" he smiled gently.
"I love you too, actually i love you more" I chuckled, poking my tongue out.
"Never doll, you know that I would never let anything happen to you, and when we decide to have a family, I'm going to be more responsible because having little mini versions of you and I would be a dream " he chuckled, caressing my face gently and putting his face close to mine so he could stare straight into my eyes.
"Bucky" I smiled happily, letting out an exhale, feeling the pressure of the situation dissipate.
"Mm?" He hummed.
"I love you so much, thank you for making me feel better" I replied as he kissed my hand lovingly.
"I'll always love you and I'll always try to do better for us, never forget that y/n, you're my first priority, not Zemo or anyone else, they'll never get between us, I pinky promise" he said soothingly.

Masterlist
This is terrible.
This is the worst thing that's ever happened to you.
This is the worst thing that's ever happened to anyone. It's just the most horrible, dreadful, awful thing that couldâve ever happen to yo-
âWould you stop staring at him for fuck's sakes!â Natasha's hissed words make your eyes snap to her and finally away from the metal armed Supersoldier lifting weights. Shirtless.
You don't know when Bucky stopped feeling self-conscious enough to allow him to workout in nothing but a pair of gym shorts, but it has become literal torture for you.
Needless to say, Bucky's current level of undress is making it impossible for you to concentrate on the stretching you're supposed to be doing before your sparring match with Natasha.
But your very thoughtful and not at all exasperated friend makes sure to keep your attention on her during the entirety of our match by thoroughly kicking your ass.
What a lovely best friend you have.
Anyways.
Your entire mood shifts with one not intentionally overheard conversation. Steve enters the gym and goes straight to Bucky, who was putting his weight set down.
âSheâs here!â Is all the blonde says to his friend and your heart stops at the way Buckyâs face lights up with a smile, not needing any more information before following Steve out of the gym.
Sheâs here? Who the fuck is she? Does Bucky have a girlfriend? And most importantly, sheâs here? In the Compound?
Natasha can almost see the gears turning in your brain as you make no attempts to move from the mat after she knocked you on your ass for the hundredth time today. You didnât even seem to notice her hand offering you help to get up, your eyes still looking where Bucky was just a moment ago, staring at nothing in particular while your brain drowns in your overthinking.
Natasha sighs and decides to end the match here, kneeling down in front of you and placing her hands on your shoulders, shaking you gently to snap you out of it.
âDonât overthink this.â She tells you when sheâs sure she has your attention. âItâs probably just a friend visiting.â She tries to comfort you, but you both know thatâs highly unlikely.Â
Bucky has no other friends outside the team. He doesnât know how to talk to civilians anymore after everything heâs been through, and gave up trying to after the hundredth time he saw fear in a personâs eyes just by recognizing him. So his friend circle now includes the team and the agents of SHIELD that are not intimidated by him. Point is, every friend he has already lives in the Compound.
So who the fuck is here just to see him?Â
Natasha can see that this is a lost battle, your eyes barely concentrating on her as you start drowning in your mind again. All she can do when youâre like this is try to distract you and keep you out of your head. So she takes your hand and helps you up, leading the way to the common room to watch one of your beloved romcoms together, because thatâs how much she loves you.
Big mistake.
âY/N! Y/N!â The excited high-pitched voice came just seconds after you set foot in the common room. And thatâs about the only warning you got before the excited 5-year-old jumped on you, your reflexes thankfully quick enough to catch her.
âHi, Maguna!â You say while chuckling as the little girl hugs you. âYou seem excited today. Did you get into the sugar cabinet again?â
Morgan giggles at your joke and shakes her hand before taking your face in her little hands and dramatically saying, âNo! A princess came to visit uncle Bucky! A real princess.â
You frown, confused at what sheâs talking about, before you look around the room and finally notice everyone else in it. Pepper and Tony are on the couch, looking at you lovingly as you interact with their daughter.
You love Morgan, sheâs like a little sister. You never miss an opportunity to babysit her and you spend as much time with her as you can. She also loves you, out of all the Avengers youâre her favorite, much to everyoneâs dismay. She calls them all âauntâ and âuncleâ, but youâre just Y/N. Youâre her big sister, you donât need a title. Which is why you're the only one other than Tony allowed to call her 'Maguna'.
Then you notice the other people in the room: Steve, Bucky and⊠Shuri. The fucking Princess of Wakanda, standing in the common room of the Avengers Compound and just smiling at you as you carry Morgan.
Youâve never met Shuri, but you know she played an important part in deprogramming the Winter Soldier out of Bucky, and youâre grateful to her for it. Sheâs important to Bucky, and you canât believe you forgot Bucky has Wakandan friends.
You put Morgan down on the ground again and the little girl takes your hand and aggressively steers you towards where Steve, Bucky and Shuri are standing, clearly thrilled to be in the presence of a real life princess.
âHi, Iâm Shuri.â She offers you her hand when you get close enough and you shake it with your free hand while introducing yourself.
Thereâs a bit of an awkward pause and youâre about to say the first thing that pops into your head when Morgan thankfully saves you by pulling on your hand, making you look at her. She tells you to come close and, chuckling, you kneel beside her so she can whisper conspiratorially in your ear.
âSheâs a princess and sheâs really pretty, but I still like you better.â She whispers and you canât help but laugh.
God, you love this little girl.
You smile brightly at her and launch a tickle attack, her adorable giggles filling the room as everyone looks at you two with warm smiles.
Your attention is solely on Morgan, until you unintentionally hear the whispered conversation between Shuri and Bucky.
âSo, this is the girl, huh? Sheâs pretty.â Shuri says and your heart skips a beat.Â
You glance at them as discreetly as you can while still tickling Morgan, only to find Bucky looking at someone behind you. You turn around less carefully and see Sharon just entered the room, and she's also looking at Bucky with a smirk. You quickly return your attention to Morgan, but your mind is going a thousand miles a minute.
Of course heâd like someone more like Sharon. Sheâs pretty, sheâs talented, sheâs a total badass and sheâs not afraid to go after what she wants.
Sheâs not a mass of anxiety in the shape of a woman that overthinks everything and becomes a flustered mess every time sheâs even near Bucky.
Itâs time to admit it to yourself: Bucky just doesnât see you like that and you need to move on.Â
Natasha is right, your obsession with Bucky needs to end.
What you donât see is Bucky almost glaring at Sharon because he knows damn well why sheâs smirking. She came in just before Shuri whispered to Bucky, when he was very intent on looking at you with heart eyes as you played with Morgan.
Just before you looked at him, Bucky noticed Sharon and he had to hold in a groan at her because he knows that sheâs never gonna let him live this down.
Both Sharon and Steve have tried really hard to convince Bucky that you like him back and he should make a move on you. But Bucky, being as stubborn as they come, never believes them.
He obviously makes you uncomfortable, youâre always stuttering when heâs around and you avoid eye contact whenever possible. Heâs just glad that you can stand his presence enough for the two of you to work together when necessary and to hang out with the rest of the team without problems.
So he just enjoys looking at you from a distance. He loves watching you play with Morgan and his thoughts always run wild with images of you playing like that with kids that are yours and his.
But he knows thatâs never going to happen. Why would you like a damaged, PTSD ridden soldier that canât even make it through the night without waking up from a nightmare? No, thatâs definitely not your type.
Bucky accepts the truth: He doesnât deserve you and you donât see him like that anyways.Â
It doesnât matter that Sam thinks heâs obsessed, that wonât stop him from looking at you whenever heâs lucky enough to get a glimpse of his little ray of sunshine.

Another War
A Story From The MCU (Falcon and The Winter Soldier)
~Sam and Bucky are continuously bickering... even in the bedroom.~
Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, F!Reader
1,732 Words
Warnings: NSFW. Comedy and Smuts.Â
A/N: I didn't "pair them up" for a reason, but there's no Sam/Bucky action... don't worry. You'll see...
Impala-Dreamerâs Masterlist  ~  Patreon ~ Published Works
It wasnât an uncommon thing to bear witness to- the bickering. Sam and Bucky were constantly at each otherâs throats arguing about just about everything. Not a moment would pass where one man wasnât side-eyeing the other and or dramatically huffing. It was generally amusing, but at that moment, it was incredibly frustrating.
They stood, naked and quarreling at the foot of the bed, repeatedly gesturing towards you even as they paid you no regard.
With ankles and wrists tied to the bed with silken ropes, a white sash wrapped around your head and locked between your lips, you were at their mercy. Naked and whimpering, you had no choice but to wait and see what their plan was.
âAll Iâm sayinâ is that we canât both be down there at the same time.â
Bucky scoffed at Samâs words. âYou kidding me? Of course we can. She has two holes.â
Sam pursed his lips. âI ainât gonna be in a position where my dick touches your dick. Even by accident, even a little bit. Therefore, double time is out.â
The thought of both of them down south at once made you shiver and leak. You could feel a stream of wetness slick down your crack and into the sheets. It probably wasnât possible to take both of them at once- your ass was untrained, your cunt too tight, but the idea was lovely. Eyes gliding down their firm bodies, you gazed at their cocks, only half hard but long and thick. Imagining them both at once, practically splitting you open was enough to make you moan.
Bucky shot a look at you and his lips curled in a tiny smirk. âBe right with you, doll,â he assured, adding a wink for good measure.
Arousal burned in your belly and you jerked your hips. Blue eyes widened slightly and Bucky licked his lips.
âSheâs waiting,â he said, turning back to Sam.
âYeah, well, so am I.â Sam rubbed a hand down his face and scratched at his jaw. âYou know what? Screw this. Iâm going in.â
Grabbing his cock, Sam turned to the bed and only managed to get one knee on the mattress before he was stopped by a metal grip that nearly knocked him back into the far wall.
âNot so fast!â Bucky warned, eyes narrowed and silver digits tensing on Samâs upper arm. âWeâre not finished here.â
Sam rolled his eyes and huffed. âAnd we never will be if you donât step off and let me get in there.â
It was hard not to laugh at their ridiculous argument, but harder still not to whine with desperation. You gnawed at the sash in your mouth and pushed it with your tongue in a pathetic attempt to loosen it and speak.
Sam had tied it well.
Bucky growled and released his hold on Sam.
âWho put you in charge of positions anyway?â
Dark eyes stared on with annoyance. âI did. You canât make a damned decision to save your life.â
Bucky balked. âFuck you, I can decide things. Iâve been deciding things since before your grandfather was born!â
âHere we go again, the old man talk.â Sam tossed his hands up and sighed. âYou always gotta bring up that shit like it matters.â
âIt does matter.â Bucky took a step towards the bed, essentially blocking Sam from getting to you. âNow, respect your elders and back up. That pussy is mine.â
Every muscle in your body clenched and your sensitive flesh darkened with heightened arousal.
Sam skirted around him and set his knee on the bed once more. âDonât think so, Grandpa. She wants a young, virile man, not some Baby Boomer.â
âVirile?â
âYou heard me.â
Bucky sneered and pushed Sam back again. âAnd excuse me, Iâm no Baby Boomer. We were called the Greatest Generation for a reason.â
Sam chuckled. âWere. As in past tense.â Fearlessly, he grabbed Buckyâs metal arm and shoved him back away from the bed. âMake room for the future.â
More than annoyed, Bucky whipped his arm away and sucked his teeth, his jaw clenching. âIâm gonna kick your ass later, just be prepared.â
âYeah, yeahâŠâ Sam set his eyes on your cunt and puckered his wet lips, honing in on his target. âYou can try.â
âI will.â
âSure.â
âI hate you so much.â
âFeelingâs mutual.â
Almost at the end of your patience, you tried to break up the fight, but your words came on in an unintelligible mumble. You strained against the ropes, twisted your hips, groaned as loud as you could.
The men got your point and relented. They both took a deep breath and stood back up, turning once more towards each other to end the debate and get over their bickering.
A wave of relief washed over you and you set your eyes upon their cocks once more. Your mouth watered around the sash and drool spilled down your chin. You needed them badly, no matter who went where.
Sam spoke first, his arms crossed over his smooth, puffed out chest, taking charge again. âHow about we spit roast her? Will that make you happy?â
Confused, Bucky squinted down at him. âWhat?â
âSpit roast,â he repeated.
Bucky laughed. âThatâs not a thing, you made that up.â
Sam exhaled hard through his nose. âThat absolutely is a thing.â
âNo itâs not. Youâre just fucking with me.â
âWhile I do enjoy fucking with you, this time Iâm not. Itâs a thing.â
Bucky hummed and looked over at you, trying to imagine what Sam was talking about.
âItâs when we go at her from both ends,â Sam explained calmly. âLike⊠putting a chicken on a spit and⊠well, roasting it.â
âSo⊠I go-â Bucky gestured to your pussy, then your face. âAnd you go-â
âYeah. Technically. Except Iâm going there-â Sam pointed at your cunt. âAnd you go up there.â
Bucky shook his head. âWhy do you get to go there? Why canât I go there?â
âBecause someoneâs gotta go there and the other has to go up there or the whole thing doesnât work!â
Sensing the utter decline of your evening, you yelled again and thrashed about until they stopped and stared at you.
Bucky cocked a brow. âWhy donât we just ask Y/N what she wants?â
It was as if the idea had occurred to neither of them, and Sam made a little noise of interest.
âHuh. Good idea.â
Back on the mattress, he crawled up to the headboard and gently pulled the sash from your mouth. Finally free, you smacked your dry lips together and swallowed.
âThank you!â Flipping your head to glare at them both in turn, you let them have it. âYou two are the dumbest fuckers Iâve ever met. Youâre literally fighting over the stupidest thing right now. Who goes where, who does what⊠Youâre both gonna get some so who cares! And, youâve both already been both places so you know theyâre both good- so shut the fuck up and somebody fuck me before I dry up faster than Arizona in a drought!â
At your feet, Bucky struggled not to laugh, but Sam let it go, nearly bursting out at your frustration.
âOh my god! Now youâre laughing at me?â
Sam covered his mouth, unable to stop. âIâm sorry. Iâm sorry. I canât.â
Watching Sam lose it, Bucky broke as well. He turned his back but you could see his shoulders shaking with each laugh.
âYou two suck,â you sighed. âSo much.â
Sam softened and leaned close, his breath wisping over your collarbone. âOh, donât be like that. You know you love it.â
Your pulse quickened. âNope. I hate you both.â
Bucky looked over his shoulder at you; blue eyes bright and mesmerizing. âCome on, sweetheart. No need to lie.â
The shiver was back and you squirmed, rolling your hips as Bucky flipped over onto his hands and knees. He was like a tiger and your lips were his prey.
With your eyes locked on Bucky, Sam snuck his hand down your side and scraped his blunt nails across your lower belly.
âOh godâŠâ
Bucky reached his goal and dropped down to lick deep into your mouth, spreading your lips with his forceful kiss. You moaned into his mouth, felt your eyes close tight as the heat spread quickly through your system.
When Samâs fingers dipped between your open legs, you choked back a scream as the flood returned. He gathered up the slick and coated your clit with it before turning mind numbing circles right above it.
âNot dry now,â he teased.
Bucky pulled back and stared down into the very center of you. âShe never isâŠâ
Sam sat up a bit. âWell, sometimes she is. She donât walk around soaking her panties all day.â
âShe does when Iâm around.â
âYou know what- Iâm gonna smack the hell out of you if you-â
âEnough!â
Your roar shut them both up and they looked down in awe and apology.
âI swear to god, this is the last time I let you two into my bed at the same time. I canât take it anymore.â A deep breath calmed you slightly, but it was just too much. âNow, untie me and letâs get this thing over with. Bucky, youâre up here, Sam, you go downtown. OK? Good. Letâs go.â
In agreement and in tandem, they both set to releasing you from the ropes. Bucky gently untied your ankles while Sam leaned over you to let your arms free.
âSee? Told you she wanted me down there,â Sam whispered under his breath while scooting down to the foot of the bed.
Bucky leered and shook his head. âYouâre such an ass.â
Sam sat straight up and raised a finger, ready to lash out at Bucky again, reup the argument.
Before they could get back at it, you jumped up and slapped them both in the side of the head.
âHey!â
Sam gulped audibly and Bucky rubbed at his head.
âOuch.â
âThat didnât hurt,â Sam huffed.
Bucky gawked. âYes it did!â
âNo it didnât, you pussy.â
âWho you calling a pussy, you fat head?â
âFat head? The fuck does that even mean?â
On and on they went, not even noticing that you slipped away into the other room to take care of yourself on the sofa.
It wasnât an uncommon thing to witness them fighting, but it certainly was frustrating.

There's nothing like this
Bucky Barnes x Reader (AU) Boxer/Biker! Bucky Barnes x Chef! Reader Part of the Miss Americana & The heartbreak Prince. AKA Bucky and his princess ALL ONESHOTS CAN BE READ AS STAND-ALONE
Bucky looks at you and your relationship
Written in Third POV. No use of Y/N. However, the reader is referred to as a female. Likes, comments, reblogs are VERY VERY highly appreciated. Opinions really matter to me.
Been sitting on this one for a while now.Anyway hope you look it.
HEAVILY based on Hozier's song 'Two sweet'. Because look at me and tell this song isn't so Bucky and his princess.
Main Masterlist
It was absurd. It was unusual. It was odd. It was unconventional. It was everything but normal.
However, it made perfect sense for both of them.
He was focused. He was determined. He was in the ring. He held his hands up near his face, calculating his next steps carefully. If he played it right, the fight was his with the least effort.
And he did. Because right now, he was the legend. The icon. The unbeatable. He was James Barnes. He was, as many like to call him, the Winter Soldier.
The opposite man never stood a chance to begin with. He knew it. Everybody knew it. It's a sad day in any player's life when they are paired with Barnes.
His legacy was unequal. His reputation preceded him. His demeanor spoke loudly. His appearance made it clear. His strong body and physique. His toned muscles. His broad shoulders. His long hair. His cold stare.
Everything about him prompted fear to the hearts of all players who sought this game as a profession.
He was untouchable. He was unconquerable. He was the Winter Soldier. He was James Barnes.
Winning this fight in record time with a final blow from his left arm, which the opponent wouldn't recover from, wasn't what was abnormal about this.
The abnormality came from the girl in the pink dress and bright makeup who sat in the first row and cheered for Barnes like her life was dependent on it.
Finally, you were able to get to this place in your relationship where Bucky was okay with you watching him fight.
You thought you had lost your hearing when Bucky told you that you could come and watch for the first time. You were playfully nagging him about it like you usually did whenever he had fights coming up. You never expected him to give in and agree this time. It took you a couple of seconds to react. Only regaining composure when he offered to take it back. Over your dead body. You had been waiting for this long enough.
Bucky couldn't understand how or why someone would get this happy and excited to watch a boxing match. Especially someone like you. Someone so sweet and adorable.
Your excited squeals and up-and-down jumping in the kitchen of his apartment once he told you left him surprised in a pleasant way.
You really did love him so much that you wanted to risk being in such a place only to support him. Not that he would let anything happen to you. Never in a million years. But a person like you could never belong to places like these. And you were smart enough to know that.
But you didn't care. You had been asking for this for a long time. You meant every word you said. You wanted to support him, be there for him, and cheer for him. You wanted it.
You wanted to be a part of every aspect of Bucky's life. Because you loved everything about him.
And letting you come and watch him felt like a great victory and a big step forward. All your patience and understanding paid off.
And you continued. Letting Bucky decide whenever you could join. Let him have one of the guys pick you up and drop you off. Let him assign another one to stay with you.
It made you laugh inside. One of them would show up at your restaurant's door at the agreed-upon time and take you to the Stark property. Then, once you reached inside, another would be waiting for you to accompany you the whole time you were here. Most of the time, it was either Steve or Sam. Given that Bucky trusted them the most and you were closest to them,.
The whole thing felt very funny to you. You felt like a child being handed around from one to the other. But you were okay with it. You knew that was the only way for Bucky to let you come here. So you didn't mind. Whatever would put his mind at ease and would allow you to support your boyfriend. You were fine with it.
Bucky always made sure he planned it right. He made sure you arrived at the right time when you were able to watch his full fight from the start, but nothing before it. You were here only for him, and it should stay like this. He didn't like the idea of you seeing other messy, brutal fights. That was also why he made sure he brought you to fights that were easy. He knew he was winning. Fights that he came out of with barely a scratch.
Of course, you noticed this pattern of choices. But you didn't bring it. And you wouldn't. At least for now.
However, the most important thing for Bucky was making sure someone stayed with you at all times until you left. If Sam or Steve were unavailable to do this job for any reason, you weren't coming. It wasn't up to debate.
He knew the people who frequented Stark Property. They would eat you alive. Your lovability and tenderness would draw them to you like a deer in a wolf den. And they wouldn't be kind. And Bucky couldn't have this. If anyone said something to you, let alone tried to lay a hand on you, Bucky would burn the whole place down. No hesitation. No thoughts. Everybody would be in great danger.
Just like he was untouchable, you were too. And even more.
Knowing so, Sam and Steve took their assignments seriously. Because while both men loved you and cared for you, they were aware of Bucky's nature. It was no joke to him. God forbid he turn around mid-fight and see you sitting alone. They wouldn't hear the end of it. There were very few things the three men considered to be a threat to their long and strong friendship; this was one of them.
So today, after the referee announced him the winner, he turned to the crowd that was applauding him. His eyes immediately caught you. Standing in between Yelena and Sam in your puff-sleeved, heart-shaped neckline, filled with rose-flower pink dress, matching your shiny pinkish makeup. Your hair braided at the top and rest falling freely on your back. The necklace with his initials resting on the pit of your neck. You were cheering for him like he won the world's most prestigious prize.
Bucky was trying to fight his smile and not break character. You looked unbelievably cute. With your happy smile, bright eyes, and nonstop clapping, it was all for him. You did it for him.
Everybody was cheering for James Barnes or the Winter Soldier, while you were cheering for Bucky.
And he was so grateful.
Bucky left the ring, only throwing a wink at you on his way inside. While Bucky didn't show much affection towards you in here, everyone connected the dots.
You were the boxer's girl. And you held that with pride
Once Bucky was inside, some of the guys came out, making you all head out to the bar to continue the night there.
You were in the middle of a conversation with Wanda when you felt the familiar, strong arms wrap around your waist.
"Hey, princess." Bucky whispered in your ear as he pulled you close to his chest, laying soft kisses on your exposed neck.
You smiled at Wanda, who took this as her cue to give you two spaces. Because in here with the people he mostly trusted, Bucky wasn't shy about giving you all his attention and affection. In other words, it gets sickeningly sweet and loving.
"Hey, babe." You turned around to face him, wrapping your arms around his neck while his hands tightened around your waist.
"You were so great in there." You said this as you gave his lips a little peck.
"You liked it?" Bucky asked as he kept giving you small kisses.
"Yes, I wanted to shout at everyone to look at how strong my boyfriend is." You were laughing as you tried to speak between his kisses.
"I think they already know." Bucky couldn't help himself when he buried his face in your neck, kissing it softly.
"Well, they need to hear it from me." You felt the vibration of his laugh on your neck.
You moved a bit so he could look at you. You wanted to say this to his face.
"I'm so proud of you." You were looking into his eyes as you said it.
The playful smile on Bucky's face turned into something genuine. The care and love you gave after the fights touched him immensely. Nobody ever treated him like that. So gently. It was puzzling how, after watching a fight like this, you still chose to love him so sweetly.
It was an active choice you kept making. He didn't understand why, but he would never complain.
He leaned forward to capture your lips and kiss you softly yet passionately. He wanted to stay like this forever.
As the night went on, you and Bucky separated, travelling to different circles of people. But that didn't mean Bucky didn't keep his eyes off you.
Which was what led to where he was now.
Bucky was sitting in one of the booths, observing you. The back booth gave him the opportunity to see everything.
You were standing with his friends. People who were so different from you yet here you were, getting along greatly with all of them. You were talking to all of them, laughing, and sharing jokes.
Bucky couldn't help the smile on his face when he saw you struggling to give Clint an opinion about the dish he made and presented to you.
But you being you. You managed to find something nice to say about the barely edible food, making Clint's smile bigger than the sky.
You treat your mouth as if it's Heaven's gate.
The rest of you like you're the TSA.
Bucky kept watching you. He watched as you listened carefully to Peter's stories, and how you interacted and was fully invested. He watched as Pepper stole you to ask about a cake recipe for Morgan, which you happily provided.
Then he watched as you rejoined Natasha at the bar, picking up where you left off in the conversation with her.
It wasn't just the colors you wore that made you stand out. It was everything.
I wish that I could go along, babe, don't get me wrong
You know, you're bright as the morning, as soft as the rain
Pretty as a vine, as sweet as a grape
Bucky couldn't take his eyes off you. How you listened to everyone. How you treated everyone. How swiftly you got along with everyone. How compassionate and accepting you were. How sweet you were.
And you were all his.
Bucky kept looking at you as you were walking towards him.
"I brought you another one." You said this as you put the two cups on the table. His neat whisky and your raspberry martini.
Before you could sit down, Bucky pulled you to himself, ushering for you to sit on his lap. You gladly did.
His arms came around your waist, and yours around his shoulders. Your floral scent evaded his senses. It was the opposite of his. Strong scent like the woods and black coffee.
Your pink dress clashed with his all-black outfit. You felt too bright for the dark spot he was sitting in.
Everything about the two of you didn't make any sense. Not even in the slightest. You were the polar opposite.
You were nice. He was stiff. You were friendly. He was feared. You were understanding. He was strict. You were smiley. He was sullen. You were vulnerable. He was a closed book.
You were everything he wasn't. He was everything you weren't.
There was nothing like this.
And somehow, that made you perfect.
You brought lights he had never seen in his life before. You created happiness he never thought of. You led him to feelings he didn't know existed. You gave him love, which he always claimed he was unworthy of.
You changed his life. You turned his life upside down. In the best way possible.
Bucky wished there were enough words in the world to tell you how much he loved you. Bucky wished there were enough ways he could express his gratitude for you. Bucky wished there were enough time to show you how much he cherished you.
Bucky wished that one day you would ever comprehend how your sweetness saved him. How you were everything to him
"You're too sweet for me." Bucky spoke slowly as he kissed you.

The Birds and The Bees
A.N. I don't usually do many author's notes in Tumblr, but never, never, not once, has a fic ever been so requested, by so many different people, that I feel like I have to.
@i-love-mommy-wanda "Being that she stayed in a room most of her life- just hear me out- a oneshot - of Sam giving her the" TALK!" like birds and bees and where baby's come from I think that would be funny" @/thequeeranarchist "I don't know if you take requests, but I thought about if someone had to explain the birds and the bees to sunshine considering she probably never had been told about it. Idk, I thought about sunshine and Bucky's first time together too, but I don't know your comfortability with what you write and what you don't. And grumpy x sunshine is officially my favourite trope now bc of this series."
I don't even - I just don't even know what to say. (Please note, that as I write this, I'm quite literally giggling to myself and have quite literally reverted to my awkward 16 year old self) I get requests somewhat regularly, but this, this is the most requested topic. You guys just really wanted to know about this.
Listen, here's the thing, reading second hand embarrassment is one thing. WRITING IT? I was in physical pain, but the scene wasn't going to write itself. I tried, it really didn't write itself.
But I did it. Because I love you guys. And now, it'll be another 5 to 7 business days before I can log back on.
P.S. I know there's other people who requested it too, but I can't find the requests, but please know I didn't forget about you!
Anon's 1K Celebration
Pairing: Grumpy!Bucky Barnes x Sunshine!Reader Summary: Falling in love is easy, as natural as breathing, so why is talking about it so embarrassing?
"Sam," you frantically call from the doorway, clutching your racing heart, "I think I'm dying."
"What? Why? What happened?" Sam rushes out, frantically searching you for signs of duress.
You double over, hands clutching your sides, "Well, I'm not sure, but I did Google it and I think I'm having a heart attack."
Sam takes a long sigh, resting his hands on his hips in mild exasperation. At least he knew you weren't actually dying. "And why do you think you're having a heart attack?"
"I just," you dramatically clutch your chest, finally standing upright, "My heart feels like it's in my stomach, and- and I'm all sweaty, and fluttery. And I want to curl up into a little ball and die, but maybe also listen to every Taylor Swift song ever written."
"Well, that was," Sam clears his throat, "That was very descriptive."
You flop down on your couch and groan into one of the cushions, "Just leave me here to die."
"You're not dying."
You lift your head to glare at him, "You don't know."
"I do know," Sam insists. "You're a healthy, 25 year old woman, the chances of you having a heart attack are almost zero."
"But not zero," you point out.
Sam sighs, grabbing your hand and pulling you up off the couch, "You're not dying, and you're not having a heart attack."
"You sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure."
"If you're wrong, I'll haunt you."
"I'll take my chances," Sam playfully rolls his eyes, "So what were you doing right before you thought you were having a heart attack?"
"I-" you clear your throat, a furious blush warming your entire face, "I don't want to tell you."
He should've known something was wrong right from the get go. You were always so open, so honest about everything. You weren't raised under the same social contract, or any social contract, and you were still learning basic social norms and customs. For better or worse, you were the most honest and open person Sam had ever known.
So for you to be this flustered, this shy and jittery, it had to be something pretty important.
He should've left it at that. He really should've left it at that. But no, like the concerned friend he was, he pressed the topic even more.
He gently nudges your shoulder, taking a seat beside you, "I can't help you if you don't tell me."
You abruptly stand up, awkwardly chuckling. You inch away from him, jutting your thumb back to your room, "You know, now that I think about it, I'm all better, heart attack healed. Good talk, thanks, Sam."
"Come on, just tell me," Sam cajoles, patting the seat beside him. "We tell each other everything."
"I was on the phone."
"Okay..." Sam could count on one hand the number of people that had any means to communicate with you. Hell, he could count exactly how many people had knowledge of your existence with both hands.
It takes Sam a second to realize that he's too lost in his worry to actually hear what you're telling him, "... so Bucky told me we could practice-"
He already doesn't like where this is going. "Practice what?"
"Texting, Sam." You quirk an eyebrow at him, "Are you even listening to me?"
Sam suspiciously nods, settling back into the couch, "Right."
"And we've sort of been texting each other."
"Uh-huh," Sam nods along, though he gets the distinct feeling that he won't like where this is going. Not in the slightest. He physically braces himself as he asks his next question, "So, um, what were you guys talking about?"
You timidly shrug, twisting and untwisting your fingers, "Just stuff."
"Stuff?" Sam dubiously repeats. "Talking about stuff made you think you were having a heart attack?"
"Yes..." It's clear to him that you're lying through your teeth. It's clear that this is as weird for him as it is for you. You clap your hands down on your lap, abruptly standing with up a fierce blush painting your face, "You know what? I completely forgot I have to water my plants!"
"I know you're lying!" Sam calls after you as you scramble away.
"No, I'm not!" you shout over your shoulder. "I'll be back! Maybe! Probably! Definitely at some point!"
This wasn't the first time something like this happened, a strange, slightly uncomfortable situation happening.
This whole living arrangement with you and Sam would probably be called a strange, slightly uncomfortable situation by most people. Most of the time, Sam was able to handle these things on his own.
Having grown up with a younger sister, Sam was fairly comfortable talking about and dealing with certain things. That did not mean he was even remotely prepared or even qualified to explain those things to you.
The first time it happened was about a month into living with each other.
It was just cramps. Until it wasn't.
He phoned it in to Maria Hill.
Crisis averted. Mostly.
Because a couple of months later, another of those awkward situations arose.
The second time was an awkward encounter with a barista at your local cafe.
Apparently, getting breakfast and coffee with a person of the opposite sex first thing in the morning day in and out meant that people could just assume the nature of your relationship. And it wouldnât have been the most ridiculous assumption if it werenât for the fact that it absolutely was the most ridiculous assumption.
Sam was just thankful that he was as certain of your feelings as he was of his own.
He'd handled that situation fairly well on his own, even if it did take several days for you two to be within five feet of each other.
And now here he was again. Sitting all alone in your living room, wondering what the hell he was supposed to do with this. And that's when he sees it. The scene of the crime sat right before him, right on the coffee table. Your phone.Â
"You forgot your-" He stops himself from finishing that sentence. Because this wasn't your run of the mill awkward situation, no, this was worse. A lot worse than some nosey barista. So much worse that he thinks about doing something stupid. An overprotective, older brother sort of stupid. He tries to rationalize it, after all, youâd left the phone right there. Right there. Right in front of him. Within his reach. What kind of handler would he even be if he wasnât keeping a close eye on you?
âNo.â Sam suddenly changes his mind, softly muttering to himself, âThat is an invasion of privacy. What kind of friend-â
And before he even knows it, your phone is in his hand. And heâs clicking on your messages.
And heâs reading your texts to Bucky.
JBB:Â What does 'lol' mean? You:Â It's either lots of love or laugh out loud. Idk. JBB:Â What does that mean? The idk? You:Â I don't know. JBB:Â I'll ask. You:Â No, it means I don't know. JBB:Â Oh. JBB:Â I know you can't see me, but I'm frowning right now. You:Â You make me laugh. JBB:Â I like making you laugh. JBB:Â But if you tell anyone that, I'll deny it. You:Â lol JBB:Â Which version of lol was that? Lots of love or laughing out loud? You:Â Thatâs for me to know. JBB:Â And for me to find out? You:Â lol
"That was smooth as hell," Sam mutters to himself. Sam has to stop at that point. He canât read any more. He scoffs to himself, âSheâs been out a year and flirts better than I do.â
Thereâs a part of him thatâs a little mad. Mostly about your shockingly incredible ability to flirt.
But it also grates on that older brother nerve. The same one Sarah used to love to poke and prod at when they were younger.
He's still sort of in his right mind. At least enough to know that he's out of his element with this one. Thereâs no way that he can approach you about this. Especially not after reading through your messages.
What even was this? Was it just harmless flirting? Was it you just trying to get out there and socialize with the few people you were allowed contact with?
Or were there feelings there? And, if there were feeling, what kind of feelings?
He rapidly shakes his head trying to rid himself of the idea. That was not an image he needed in his head.
Sam decides in that very moment, this is too far out of his league. He can't handle this. An while might not be able to handle this, he knew someone who could, someone much more qualified than he was. He dials her number right away. She answers on the third ring.Â
"I need your help," Sam sharply whispers into his phone.
"Why? What's wrong?"
"There is flirting happening over here!"
Maria sighs in relief, "Oh, good, I thought there was a real problem happening."
"Did you not hear me? Flirting, Maria! Flirting!"
"So?"
"Do you know what flirting leads to?" Sam wildly questions.Â
"No?"
"It leads to... other things - I don't know! And that's why I need your help! I can't deal with this!"
"You can't call me over for things like this."
"I thought you said you were happy to help!"
"I was! I am, but you're supposed to be keeping a low profile. Having me walk in and out of your front door in broad daylight is not low profile."
"So then come in through the backdoor!" Sam pleads.Â
"Sam," Maria deadpans.
"I know, I know, you're right."
"I know it's a little... uncomfortable, but you just have to deal. Nick wouldn't have picked you if he thought even for a second that you couldn't handle this. It might be a little weird at first, but you've got this."
And he used to be sure that he could.
He used to be great at this job. Catching you up on pop culture? No one better than Sam. Healthy dialogue? Second nature to Sam. Ability to keep you safe? He was doing a damned good job at it if he could say so himself.
Then came the Bucky of it all.
Bucky fucking Barnes.
Sam had half a mind to kick Bucky's ass for making you feel... whatever you were feeling.
Sam's only saving grace was that you'd pretty much become self sufficient in most areas of your life when Bucky came into the picture a few months ago. Since then, things were different. You were different. At first, Sam was sure it was just the excitement and thrill of having a new friend.
He could kill Bucky for making your life more complicated. For making his life more complicated.
Bucky fucking Barnes.
He's so lost in his plot to murder Bucky Barnes that he almost doesn't realize it when you shuffle back into the living room. "Sam?"
Sam's head snaps up, "Huh?"
"I said what are you doing?"
"Um... Just thinking."
"About?"
"What's going on with you and Bucky?" Sam abrasively blurts out.Â
Your eyes blow wide. "What?"
"Sorry, what I meant to say was -Â what's going on with you and Bucky?" Sam demands with equal fervor.Â
"Nothing!" you exclaim.Â
"Well, I know you're lying!"
"I'm not lying!" you insist.
"I saw you two flirting over text!"
"You read our texts?" Your eyes snap over to the coffee table where you left your phone. Sure enough, it's upright and in a completely different spot. "Are you crazy?"
"No, no, I am not crazy because you two are over there flirting and- and- and flirting and I'm not ready to be an uncle again!"
Both your hands cover your flaming face as you turn to leave the room again, "Oh my God!"
Sam reaches out, grabbing your arm to guide you back to the conversation that he knew deep down just had to happen, "No, no, we are going to sit and we are going to talk about this."
"About what?!" you shriek.Â
"About this! You know this. The flirting. Dating. Other things. You know what so please don't make me say it," Sam pleads with you, looking every bit as awkward as you feel.Â
"No, I don't, so no, we're not!"
"You not knowing is the literal reason we have to talk about this!" Sam rants.Â
You turn to try to leave again, "I'm leaving."
Sam wedges himself in the doorway, physically blocking you from leaving, "Oh, no, you're not."
You try to squeeze past him, "Oh, yes, I am."
"No, you're not!"
"Why not?"
"Because we have to talk about this."
"Why?" you exclaim with a particularly shrill tone.
"I don't know!" Sam throws his hands up. "But we are. And we are going to hate every single second of it. And then we never have to talk about it ever again."
"You swear?"
"I swear," Sam promises, raising his right hand. He gestures to the couch, "If you sit and we have the talk, we will never speak of it again."
"Fine," you grumble under your breath, huffing as you slump onto to the couch.Â
"Great..."
So you sat.
And you listened.
And you did your best not to cringe at what Sam was telling you. And then it was over. The silence palpable. Your face burning with embarrassment. Sam's face burning with embarrassment. But it was over. It was all said and done.Â
You both sit on the couch with your hands in your lap, several feet away from each other, not even looking at each other but staring at the turned off television before you. After many, many long minutes of sitting in awkward silence, you turn to Sam with a questioning look, "Sam?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you think we know too much about each other?"
"Definitely starting to."
"Glad we're on the same page."

summary - your partner comes home, and you two best relax by watching a movie together.
the gif I use isn't mine, divider by @newlips
âYay! Movie night!â Sam shimmies, holding a handful of snacks, and heads over to you. You smile as you watch him place the snacks on the coffee table and open your arms for him to crawl into them. Sam lifts the blankets, getting under them and snuggling into you. He sighs as your arms wrap around him, and you press play on the horror movie. âIâve missed you so much, baby. This is the best way to unwind. You, me, some snacks and a movie, perfection.â He kisses his fingers, grinning as you giggle at his words before he reaches over and grabs some of the chocolate sitting there, handing you a few blocks while eating some for himself.
You rest your head against his shoulder, squeezing your arms around him tightly as youâve missed having him close to you. âIâve missed you too, Sam. You tend to light everything up with your presence.â You turn your head, kissing his cheek softly, loving how warm he is. You tend to run cold, but you become so much more warmer when he's around. âI love you so much.âÂ
The two of you watch the movie, laughing and commenting on the scenes and how stupid the people can be. You continue to eat the snacks and cuddle with your partner, enjoying having him in your company after being away from each other for so long. As the credits roll, Sam rolls over and wraps his arms around you, burying his face into your chest and pulling you close to him. âIâve missed this.â He looks up at you with a soft look, his eyes memorising your face. âIâve missed you, everything about you.â Sam lifts his hand, stroking your cheek, and your breath hitches, eyes fluttering shut as his touch brings comfort.
thank you for reading!

Familiar [Part 1]
Part 2, Part 3
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x immortal!reader
Word Count: 1238
You watched the world youâd always known become public knowledge. It was laughable in which the US government feeds their citizens lies, lies that the enhanced individuals are a new construct, lies that they only started to appear in the age of heroes. Enhanced individuals have always existed. They always walked among the non enhanced. The only difference is more dangers have bubbled onto the surface and now theyâre trying to save face.
Steve Rogers mightâve been the worldâs first superhero but he was not the first enhanced individual. He was made into one and celebrated for it. Acting as a poster boy for the US government to recruit young men with a romanticized version of war. Those who were born enhanced were often murdered, caught, or experimented on. The history of the lost to never see a glimpse of light.
You had known Steve once upon a time. Your paths crossed whenever you found yourself in New York. You heard him getting beat up in the alley next to the theater being saved by his friend, Bucky Barnes. It was a rather lackluster moment and you had no idea how important to history they both would become. He was but a boy back then, wanting to be a hero but limited by his body.Â
Throughout years of torture and experiments by the government, you readily escaped and made a life for yourself. Hidden away from the government and living in isolation. At times, you would gather enough courage to leave your safe haven and explore the ever changing world around you.
Money makes the world go round and round. At least, thatâs what those in control want the population to comprehend and accept. You had seen the value of money diminish and the cost of necessities increase unjustifiably. The concept itself is of greed as no person should have to justify their worth with the amount of cash in your bank. You had lived through the rise and fall of empires, the extinction of a plethora of animals and insects, and witnessed the destruction in the wake of greed for money.
As money had never been an issue for you, youâd donate religiously to charities in feeding and sheltering the homeless in various parts of the world, created multiple scholarships for students to get free-rides to their dream schools, funded research centers and other organizations. You had far too much money for just an individual.
Once you explored the world for what it had to offer, you became bored. Traveling was once exciting but the thrill dissipated. You now occupy your time reading books, mindlessly scrolling on social media, watching television, and other niche hobbies. You had so much time to do everything youâd ever wanted and search for the answers to questions that remained unanswered.
You found yourself in a decent routine to keep yourself from going insane. It mightâve been considered boring to the average person but you had done so much in your life, any downtime was welcomed with open arms and a bottle of whiskey.
âDo you think theyâre here?â Hushed voices whispered in the distance. The forest creatures that usually surround your home remain quiet, not knowing what to think about the strangers walking through their forest. They had become familiar to you but were still wary of humans.
âWell-kept house in the middle of nowhere and Red Wing picking up one heat signature would suggest so.â It was another voice. A voice you knew you heard before. It was a voice from the TV. Youâd realized the voice belonged to Sam Wilson, an apparent pararescue who fought with the Avengers to save the world. You didnât know if he was considered to be an Avenger though. After the whole debacle with the Sokovia Accords, the breaking up of the Avengers, and the fight with Thanos, the question of the status of the group has been unclear.
âYouâd think they know weâre here?â The voices became louder as they inched closer to her safe haven. You wanted them out. To leave you alone with your thoughts. You didnât want strangers to mess up what you had built for yourself. They needed to leave.
You recognized the other voice as well. It belonged to an old acquaintance. He flirted with you after he saved his friend, Steve, from being beaten in an alleyway. It seemed like such a natural occurrence but hearing him now was a bit surreal. He probably wouldnât recognize you after all heâs been through. You remember when he was falsely blamed for the bombing of the Vienna Bombing. Sloppy work for someoneâs whoâs identity remained hidden for so long, only whispers of the nickname Hydra had given him. Idiots. You thought bitterly. Bucky was such a kind man turned into a mindless weapon. You wished he would have lived a long and beautiful life without the violence or suffering that he so rightfully deserves.
He sighed, annoyed by the questions, âYes. Theyâre probably aware of our presence. [Reader] we know you're in there. We just want to talk.â You didnât listen. You couldnât move. No one was supposed to know your name. Youâd messed up sometime during the rise of technology, you assumed. It was easier to go under the radar before technology developed and expanded to the point where your face could be caught on camera.Â
Your mind began to race as they made it to your porch and knocked gently. You couldnât outrun a supersoldier. Your powers only consisted of immortality which you found to be rather lonely and painful. You slowly crept to the door, your arm uncontrollably shaking as you reached to open it. You were opening the door of uncertainty and allowing the outside world to enter. âWhat do you want?â It was the question that echoed underneath your breath.
Sam gave you a gentle simple, âIâm Sam Wilson and this is my associate Bucky Barnes.â He gestured to his companion. âWe donât mean to intrude but we have a couple of questions only you would be able to answer.â Bucky stared long and hard at your face. His eyebrows scrunching together as he tried to pinpoint why you were so familiar. âWe have evidence to suggest that the soldier serum was recreated. Since you have been alive for a decent amount of time, have you heard of anything thatâll be able to help us?â
Of course you had heard of multiple instances of scientists, from all around the world, desperately searching for the answer to recreate the super soldier serum. Many had failed leaving a trail of dead bodies of unwilling victims.
âYou should check with your own government.â You bluntly replied. The American government had tried to keep the experiments of their own soldiers a secret but people talk. Guilt overcomes silence. While the media caught smoke of what happened behind closed doors, drunken secrets were spilled for all to listen and you listened. âI know they tried⊠relentlessly.â
âYou look familiar.â Buckyâs voice rang, catching the attention of both Sam and you.Â
Sam gave him a questioning look before observing your reaction. It was neutral. No confusion or alarm emerged in your facial expression. You look straight into Buckyâs eyes, seeing the window of his broken soul trying to mend itself piece by piece, âIâm pretty sure we've never met.â The lie slipped so smoothly that neither of them caught it.
