SalvageClan Leaf-Fall 1

This Leaf-Fall proves to be an upswing for the clan! Salvagestar's litter is born, of which the other parent is completely unknown. Two toms, Perchkit and Quietkit

Hollysnow as well, after two seasons of recovering from her injury, has finally returned to the warrior's den, and Newtpaw has beaten his heat exhaustion.

Webpaw and Firewhisker train. Firewhisker is emphatic on their belief that Webpaw is destined to help lead the clan one day, but Webpaw pushes back. He's resentful of the expectation that he's got some quality the others do not, which surprises Firewhisker. She wasn't aware of how much she had been pushing onto him

Hollysnow, still in the last dredges of recovery, accompanies Howltalon. There is a brief moment where Howltalon converses with Starclan, though Hollysnow is uncomfortable, as she cannot see nor hear anything Howltalon is describing.

Fallowfur and Cottonspots decide to train their two apprentices together, however, given the two warriors' ever growing apart relationship the session is fruitless and mostly filled with bickering.

Webpaw catches Whitecough after a day out with Firewhisker, leaving their mentor feeling responsible for his illness.

Howltalon has his paws full, and is struggling to care for the eldest apprentice. However, a young pet cat, Pearl, approaches the clan, having seen how her littermates have been quickly abandoned and not wanting to wait for that fate herself. She joins the clan, and shockingly shows aptitude for Medicine Cat duties.

Howltalon, realizing his age, takes her under his wing as his personal apprentice.

Their first outing together as Apprentice and Mentor is fruitful, Howltalon is glad to finally have a helping paw that actually knows what they're doing after so many useless warriors.

Webpaw, with the new help in the medicine den, recovers from Whitecough. Salvagestar believes that he has proven himself ready for a warrior's ceremony, graduating from Webpaw to Webshiver.

His first patrol as a warrior with Hollysnow and his former mentor Firewhisker once again brings him to another cat in need like before. This time, he manages to convince Firewhisker to bring them into the clan, welcoming the new member Bitterclaw to the ranks.

Despite his age he promises that being back on his feet will mean he can offer some needed experience and muscle.

The remaining apprentices, Newtpaw and Blossompaw accompany the medicine cats for the day. Newtpaw confesses that he's been having strange dreams, but Howltalon can't make any sense of them. Newtpaw remains curious, wondering if his mentor Cottonspots' talk of prophetic dreams (though Newt doesn't believe him) are rubbing off on him.

Speaking of Cottonspots, proving his lack of real interest in training his own apprentice in favor of his own solo adventures, he continues his lone border patrol habits. He nearly crosses one of the large dogs that the humans bring to the beaches. For a moment he considers chasing the dog off on his own, but he remembers how long Hollysnow took to recover from her injuries, and turns tail. However, the story he tells back at camp is far different, and paints him in a more heroic light.

Allegiances listed above We have started to retain enough cats that I feel comfortable taking more risks. Important to note, I have mass extinction events turned on.

Perchpaw and Quietpaw are eager to receive their Warrior names from their leader and mother. She names them Perchlaw and Quietshell.

After vigil, they join her on a patrol the next day.

The small family attempts to take on a fox, but are largely unsuccessful. Though Perchclaw keeps a scar as a reward.

Pearlpaw, still in charge of the larger medicine cat duties despite her apprentice status, is more confident than she's ever been. Due to practice or some internal revelation, she's not quite sure.

Webshiver resists temptation to eat while on a hunting patrol, hoping his fellow warriors follow in his stead. He's been feeling uncertain about his status as a respected warrior lately after being held to such a high degree as an apprentice, but remains firm in his beliefs.

Cottonspots, now that his apprentice is grown, is free to pursue his day as usual. He's found success in begging for food scraps from the humans. Bringing his mate Hollysnow with him, he convinces her to do the same.

Salvagestar is caught with another cat in the reaches of the border by her two sons. They chase the other cat off before Salvagestar could say otherwise. Quietshell and Perchclaw are curious about who that cat might be....

Cottonspots and Hollysnow continue to take food from humans....

The kits in the nursery are all of age to become apprentices, marking another important step in raising up the clan's next generation.

During their apprentice ceremony Stoatpaw has an important announcement to follow it!

More good news follows, Howltalon is able to return to his medicine cat duties. Upon recovery he decides that his apprentice, Pearlpaw, is ready to receive her proper name. She is named Pearlcatcher at 19 moons old!

Bitterclaw is a strict mentor who insists on working Stoatpaw hard. But Stoatpaw meets his expectations, much to his praise.

The other apprentices are out on their first patrol, but it devolves into ghost stories that lead to expected sibling squabbles.

Bluepaw and Shellpaw struggle with their combat training due to both their mentors feeling out of place in their new duties.

Cottonspots continues his habit of taking scraps from humans. Newtripple is often the cat to catch him, further driving more tension between the previous mentor and apprentice.

Salvagestar makes good headway with Yeobo, thinking he is likely starting to take to clan life despite such a rocky start.

Pearlpaw discusses her visions with Howltalon, though there is nothing of note that either her or her mentor can really catch.

Greenleaf continues to be business as usual.

Geode is an elderly tom when he joins the clan, nearly drowned by his former housefolk.

Despite his later insistence that he can't offer much as his age now, Salvagestar is insistent that he has a place at the Shipwreck.

Howltalon is swept into the ocean, and is left barely alive by the end of it, but alive still. This leaves the clan in a tight spot, as Pearlpaw is still training after it was pushed back by her previous injury during kithood.

Firewhisker returns to her clan duties, her two kits now getting old enough for some independance.

The same can be said for Newtripple's litter, born during the same moon and nursed alongside Firewhisker's twins.

Quietpaw and Perchpaw remain under Bitterclaw's strict training, with Cottonspots tagging along somewhat under Bitterclaw's supervision as well.

The hunting parties follow the scent of food to some humans gathered on the beach. Hollysnow remembers her time with them but can't remember much now that it's been so long. None of them can make sense of the human behavior.

Firewhisker, soon after her partnering with Fallowfur is quick to announce kits, and moves to the nursery earlier than expected.

Blossompaw, despite their behavior being somewhat reckless, earns their warrior name of Blossomfern from the medicine den. Perchkit and Quietkit have now come of age, being apprenticed to Cottonspots and Bitterclaw. Bitterclaw is determined to keep Cottonspots in line this time, as he owes his new apprentice the training he neglected of his previous one.

Yeobo, now well enough to accompany the other clan cats on patrols, is brought along with Salvagestar who takes on his training herself. Yeobo proves to be a bold cat with little sense of danger.

Cottonspots, in charge of training both apprentices for the day, decides to mess with the kits a little and tell a fairly sad story about dolphins after spotting some along the beach.

Webshiver and Newtripple try hunting an octopus they come across in some of the tidepools on their turf.

The following moon is failry uneventful, with the medicine cat's den now filled with cats expecting more clanmates rather than injuries.

The apprentices, while on patrol with their mother and Newtripple, are bolder than most cats their age and chase off a small dog.

A separate patrol is successful in chasing off a fox.

Newleaf comes to a close with a fruitful boon in the nursery. Firewhisker has a small litter of two kits; Bluekit and Shellkit. Fallowfur is so moved he hardly leaves the nursery that day, as he and Firewhisker ponder over their names all day.

Newtripple, who had been disappearing for a few weeks, brings a litter of three kits, asking Firewhisker to help nurse them. He refuses to explain their origin, and the clan respects his decision to remain private, though Cottonspots is vocally disapproving.

The litter consists of; Stoatkit, Palekit and Clovekit

Yeobo continues to prove that he has little understanding or respect for clan borders and laws, at least as of current, nearly encroaching on other hunting grounds. Luckily Salvagestar, still acting as his defacto mentor, yanks him back and gives him a stern talking to.

Hollowtalon is hesitant at first, but Pearlpaw insists she's gotten better at climbing after her injury. She gathers a decent amount of elder leaves to prove this to her doting mentor.

Salvagestar's kits are getting older, and she's able to return to her leader duties while her sons gain some independance.

Cottonspots and Hollysnow after months of on again off again courting, have decided to try giving a partnership a shot.

Pearlpaw continues her medicine cat training. She's determined to help her ever aging mentor, who is all too happy to utilize his younger and more able bodied apprentice's vigor.

This has consequences, leading to an devastating injury. Howltalon blames himself as he carries his apprentice back to camp.

During a border patrol, the clan comes along an abandoned kittypet, left to fend for itself just as many of them were on the side of the road by their humans. They are taken in by the clan, and are sent to the medicine cat's den to recover.

Be it the weather or his increasing amount of injuries and sickness, but Firewhisker feels emboldened to confess her feelings for the younger tom, despite his insistence that she could find someone better. Firewhisker does not think such a cat exists.

The two of them are quite the pair, making the second established this season. Now only to wait for kits to follow either duo.

Newtpaw feels neglected by his mentor, having passed the age that Webshiver was when he was given his warrior name. Salvagestar tries to listen and agrees to let him take some kind of test to prove his abilities next moon.

On another solo patrol, Howltalon comes across something quite sad.

The old tom grows more and more disillusioned with his abilities as a medicine cat as days go by, as he feels he struggles to save the cats in his care, and out of it.

Sickness and injury continues to hit Salvageclan with little mercy.

Keeping her promise, Salvagestar grants Newtpaw, now Newtripple his warrior name and status.

Blossompaw, for whatever reason, believes herself to be part of a prophecy.

Once again, the border patrol hears another abandoned cat in distress.

But unlike last time, they are too late and cannot save them.

Howltalon continues to struggle with his medicine cat duties without Pearlpaw's aid.

While on Hunting Patrol, likely under the impression still that he was part of some grander plan, Blossompaw injures himself trying to take a fat fish from a bird of prey.

The cats of Salvageclan are alive, but they are starting to feel the strain of wild living, as their first year comes to a close.

Hollysnow's long recovery continues. At the very least, her bruising has died down, which is something at least. Fallowfur shows signs of insecurity in his decision to join Salvagestar, he's unsure if he's fit to survive out here.

As Hollysnow recovers in the medicine cat den, she looks for any sign of Cottonspots giving her attention, as the two of them had started to show interest in each other. But Cottonspots, as usual, is much more interested in himself.

Webpaw goes on border patrol with Salvagestar and his mentor Firewhisker. They come across an apprentice from another clan of cats begging to join them, and Webpaw thinks they should be allowed to! However, his leader and deputy disagree, and the other apprentice is brought back to their original clan, much to Webpaw's dismay.

Howltalon tries to bring along the two younger toms on his herb gathering expeditions. However, due to a lack of help and a feeling that he's babysitting rather than being assisted, it is all for naught. Fallowfur feels guilty he wasn't more helpful, and Cottonspots feels like he's above this kind of work.

There is a brief scare, as Howltalon suffers from Heat exhaustion and is unable to care for the current sick cats. This leaves Hollysnow in a pinch, as she begins to show signs of infection.

Not all is unhappy, as Newtpaw is now old enough to be apprenticed. Initially, Fallowfur was asked but turned the oppurtunity down and insisted that Cottonspots was more suited.

Salvagestar also announces that she's due to have a litter of kits in the coming moons, and will be retiring to the Nursery shortly, though not now.

With little help elsewhere, Salvagestar accompanies Fallowfur on a hunting patrol.

Whether it be the presence of his leader, or a newfound sense of honor, Fallowfur resists temptation to eat while on patrol.

Cottonspots insists that he lead a training patrol, now that he's a bonafide mentor and all. The patrol is fairly uneventful and lacking in education. Though he does have the good sense to explain to his apprentice that he should steer clear of any berries the medicine cats don't give the go ahead with.

Blossomkit is finally of age, and after moons of insisting he wasn't ready to take on an apprentice, Fallowfur is assigned to him on Salvagestar's insistence.

Salvagestar mulls over the incoming kittens, and thinks it will likely be a smaller litter.

And Cottonspots, for all his arrogance, resorts to taking food from the visiting humans as they pass by the camp. Though some have a hard time blaming him, even with his attitude, as food supply is always low.

Webpaw accompanies Firewhisker and Howltalon, his mentor insisting it was good for him to understand how the medicine cats helps others in case he's in a position where this information might be helpful. Webpaw learns a lot from Howltalon, even if most of it goes over his and his mentor's heads.

Fallowfur is nervous to start training Blossompaw. However, the two of them seem to click quite quickly! Both their anxieties about their new stations in clan life seem to be put at ease for the time being.

Cottonspots goes on a border patrol by himself, embarrassed at having been caught eating human scraps. He thinks over his dreams from the night prior, trying to justify his actions as messages from Starclan, though he cannot seem to make any sense of this rationalization.

SalvageClan Newleaf - Year One

The cats' first month together is off to a rough start with one of the warriors getting a severe injury right off the bat. Probably trying to chase off one of the regular beach goers dogs from their newly established turf.

Hopefully she'll make it through, it would be rough to lose one of their few adult members this early in the game. But time and Howltalon will tell.

Salvagestar takes Firewhisker on a border patrol. They are startled by some strange goings on' in one of the many empty houses along the coast, but after Hollysnow's recent injury they decide to leave well enough alone while they're so few in numbers.

Howltalon struggles to build his herb stocks during a crucial time.

The hunting party, consisting only of Fallowfur and Cottonspots, are also lacking in much luck. Even with low food supply, Cottonspots is not willing to risk hunting the clearly sick rabbits running along the beaches.

The following month is fairly uneventful, outside of the celebratory occasion of Salvageclan's first apprentice. Webkit comes of age and is given the name Webpaw. He is apprenticed to the clan deputy Firewhisker, which he holds with a great deal of pride.

Salvagestar, while their deputy is currently occupied, decides to accompany Howltalon on his never ending quest for supplies.

This time, with the leader's help, he is successful. The two of them feel they've achieved some sense of relief after such a harsh first month.

Cottonspots and Fallowfur continue their hunting patrols together.

Whether it be just awful luck or the two's own inexperience, they are still mostly fruitless.

Webpaw's first training session goes well! Firewhisker feels that first and foremost he should understand the importance of working with other cats, which doesn't come naturally to anyone in the clan at this given moment. Webpaw seems to internalize this going forward.

This ends the both stressful but overall okay first season that Salvageclan endures.

SalvageClan A Clangen Playthrough

Introductory Post

Going with Extended Mode, though I am excited for Cruel Season, which I would like to play at some point since for these kinds of games I enjoy the extra challenge

Decided that I wanted this to take place somewhat near civilization and humans. Where I used to live there was an issue of feral cats near the Boardwalk where vacation goers would abandon the cats they adopted while on their trips (for some reason) so that's the origin story.

And thus, SalvageClan is established.

I decided to go rename some of the cats, in particular our leader, now named Salvagestar

Here's her Leader Ceremony, featuring her deadname lmao.

I think Salvagestar, upon finding this wreckage, decided that she would take any willing cats that have been discarded with her to form this new clan.

Her deputy is Firewhisker

And there are three unrelated kits;

Webkit, Newtkit and Blossomkit
