I think what kills me the most is the fact that the crew (and everyone else), no matter what stede does or how positive his influence on them is, will always find him incompetent in one way or another. That line from Zheng, that he's a mediocre man who thinks he's exceptional, infuriates me bc he IS exceptional. THAT'S why he's survived for so long and actually succeeded in his pirate life. That's why the crew was thriving (living a damn better life than any othet pirate), that's why Izzy admires him now and why Ed loves him. He needed to experience the downfall of the stereotypically great pirate because now he gets to prove to himself that his own way of doing things works better than any other way and i swear the rest of that damn island, including his crew, better fucking see it too 🔪🔪

The moonlight 2.0 scene, even tho it's personally so hard to gif with the little pixelated darker shadows (even in 2160p) has to be my favourite thing to gif. I love every single gif I've made of that scene, of the little shoulder shimmy, of Stede's sighs, of their little thumb war 😩

Least favorite thing to gif are all scenes of fun and games even tho I love that episode because the 💀 lighting 💀 hates me personally I feel. I can't work out how to keep Stede's skin and shirt looking less yellow but for his hair to be gold and goodness
