I'm kinda of a mess lol, but what is consistent is my love for black clothes and weirdly shaped skirts 💞
Seven comfort movies:
× Barbie Swan Lake - the best Barbie dress in my humble opinion and ily Tchaikovsky.
× Company (the Raúl Esparza version) - best version, just sounds exquisite and ily Raúl and Sondheim, rest in peace 💜
× Fantasia 2000 - I really love orchestras, i grew up with the VHS and im obsessed with the spring sprite segment, is my favorite 💚
× Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - amazing blend of animation and live action, no other popular movie ever got it this right. Is just beautiful to watch and a really good movie.
× National Treasure 1&2 - That movie with Nic Cage? uh-huh, yeah, that one. I love it, and i watch the two movies back to back so to me they're just one. Idk why, i don't even like action movies i just like this one.
× Robots - *alexa play the soviet anthem* no, but also i love it as a kid and i still find it hilarious.
× Shrek 2 - There's nothing i can say that hasn't been said yet 💚 good movie 👌🏻

is it okay to send random thoughts about saltburn LMAO? you're one of my fav blogs that write for oliver and he is my new hyperfixation. that movie did things to me. ANYWAYS so i think oliver would be so down for a partner with an oral fixation (projecting) my man is putting those fingers in ppl's mouths like it's the biggest turn on. so yeah. thank u for coming to my ted talk. if this is weird just ignore me. bye xx
PLSS LMFAOO NEW FAV ANON FR. okay but real talk.. who knows where his fingers have been.. (we know.) ANYWAYS he most definitely has an oral fixation.. like when he was in bathroom with Venetia girl she shoved her fingers down his throat and he just let her LIKE. 😨 Okay so he’s a manipulator.. AND has an oral fixation. Amazing ted talk anon. 💋 WE NEED MORE TED TALKS BTW SO KEEP EM COMING ANON

Get To Know Me Game 🕯️🫧
I was tagged by @thelettersfromnoone thank you so much🫶🏼
Last song: Just A Girl- No Doubt. of course, very fitting I’d say.
Fav Color: Dark red and indigo or that kinda blueish purple. Not really sure what it’s called.
Last Movie/ Last TV show: oooh I rewatched “Call Me by Your Name”. It had been a few years since I first saw it and rewatching it made me remember what a good movie it is.
Sweet/ spicy/ savory: definitely spicy. in bey’s words: i got hot sauce it my bag.
Last thing I googled: i looked up the name of the director of saltburn since I’ve seen a lot of people talk about it online. still not sure what the movies about, but i think i prefer just going in blind when i do go see it.
Current obsession: ooooh this tv show called “The Fall of The House of Usher.” ever since i watched it I haven’t stopped thinking about it and watching video essays analyzing it. i fully recommend it though it is kinda gorey and spooky.
I wanna tag @bodyelectric77 and anyone else who’d like to do it. <3

ro lovey !! wanted to get ur opinion on challengers bc i wanna watch it ^3^
sending kisses to my fav film freak <3
my opinion? well..
yes yes and yes but also yes especially bc yes and yes
!! watch it so when you read the next parts of my miya twins series it'll hit harder
Tumblr media
( my actual n extended film freak thoughts under the cut lol ദ്ദി(• ˕ •マ.ᐟ )
ok but fr when i walked out the theater (the FIRST time i watched it 🥸), i legitimately thought to myself "cinema is so back"
!!! disclaimer, i was already pretty biased going in bc of a lot of factors:
i've already always loved tennis to begin with
it was directed by the same director of call me by your name (one of my all time favorite movies)
zendaya.
the actor for pat zweig was in emma (2020) (another of my all time favorite movies) and was absolutely hilarious in it
the actor for art has been in some musical theater productions i like (he was the og connor in dear evan hansen and was in disney's west side story adaptation)
BUT EVEN THEN! the movie itself was just so refreshing given major films of the past few years. like it’s simply a good and fun watch. especially for a more “artsy” film that got so much publicity—like saltburn was also very creatively stimulating but to be completely honest… it was lowk kinda boring for like half it’s runtime. 😟
the movie feels a lot like a tennis match actually in that the way the story is told has a lot of back-and-forth, and in how that it's practically watching hot people getting stressed tf out by that for like 2 hours (LMFAO)
and just all the baseline film stuff like the writing and acting and score and cinematography were great, i ate it all up and it was scrumdidddlyumptious
the vibes were so fun to get lost in too: summer, hot, tennis, gay, lots of audacity, lots of drama from that audacity, and just such a roller coaster of emotions where you definitely start thinking these characters need sooo much therapy 👌
but probably the best thing about the film is it's rewatch value!!! bro when i say that's my favorite thing about my favorite films i really mean it. i've watched the movie three times now (😭😭😭), and a lot of people will tell you to rewatch it that amount so you can watch it from the perspectives of the three main characters. but also just a fuckin good time to watch it!
every time i watched it i had a different takeaway or noticed something i didn't before which led me to talk about it with my friends who watched it with me.
and that's why i like film and art so much in the first place!!! because i think those things are really meant to be thought about and shared and talked about and debated over to bring ppl together. so ofc this film did that perfectly and that's why it easily landed a spot in my top five films ever. :)

2023 Movie Recs?
Hiya! It was a pretty good year for movies. My takes are subjective. Also I didn't get to see a lot of movies because life. So just going to talk about what I saw.
I feel the most important one I saw was Killers of the Flower Moon. I really feel it's something everybody should check out if they are interested in US history. The book is ofc better. This is one of those weird cases where the movie has some good parts + lots of good intentions + a lot of misses. It's definitely worth watching.
My fav was Past Lives. I really liked Saltburn, Barbie. Personally didn't like Oppenheimer, Napoleon for a lot of technical reasons but also because how they wrote women.
Looking forward to Anatomy of a Fall and Poor Things. Pretty confident I am going to love Poor Things because I loved the book and also the previous movies from that director!

-in October I watched Haunted Summer (1988) and rewatched Gothic (1986) and in doing so I realized I haven't read much from Lord Byron. I then bought his Selected Poems and Don Juan 📜 -reading his work is also likely to lead to finding a biography about him, and works by and about the other Lake Geneva attendees: Mary Wollstonecraft (Shelley), Percy Bysshe Shelley, Claire Clairmont, John Polidori (I have previously read Frankenstein and The Vampyre)

-at the beginning of January I really wanted to start reading Boy Parts by Eliza Clark, but soon afterwards I found out an internet booktube friend died suddenly, so I was a little out of it last month. Boy Parts was actually on her 2024 tbr, so I definitely want to get to it soon when the spur strikes again. 📷 -honestly, since finding out about her death, though it has taken me some time, I'm even more determined to get to books and movies I've been wanting to read and to watch for years! things I've put off because of high expectations or whatever. things I think will be new all-time favs, 5/5 stars, etc. I'm going to read them! and one of those is A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G. Summers 🍖🍇 -I'm now realizing, when you think about it, certain Jean Rollin films could probably be categorized here 🧛🏼‍♀️

cailee is so pretty and although she doesn’t really look like Priscilla, she has the same vibe as her. Jacob doesn’t have the vibe as Austin did with elvis. And it just seems like he’s taken the role to annoy Kaia and Austin. It’s so aggravating when people say Austin did a bad job or was mid. Because at the end of the day, the people closest to elvis said he captured him perfectly and I just know that Austin was and still is so overjoyed that Lisa loved his performance. That opinión definitely means the most to him
yeah that's my thing too. like with caillee she's not a doppleganger sure, but i can enter the world of the movie and believe that she's priscilla for her time on the screen. jacob is just...jacob elordi pretending to be elvis. and i don't even think he's a bad actor, i'm looking quite forward to saltburn (not just for him, not a jacob stan here,- but he is a star in the thing) and will probably like his performance there. his elvis just isn't doing it for me. i've said on here before that i'm a euphoria fan- and i thought he was fine in that. he made nate very easy to hate!
and it's not even that i can't see anyone but austin as elvis either. after elvis 2022 my fav "elvis movie" is the elvis the early years series and i'm spacing on his name but i thought the guy who played elvis in that was great (whereas i didn't like the priscila in that!).
i'm not very picky film wise but not everything is gonna land with everyone. c'est la vie!

Hi! I hope you had a good week too! How are you? Oh that's awesome your Fall Out Boy concert was this week..I was just guessing. That's great, I think they put on a really good show from what I've seen. Wow lol..most shows I go to, I usually don't get home until 1AM at least and usually also eat after. It doesn't matter if it's a concert or musical either..basing it on the last ones I went to. I haven't been to a concert in so long and I used to go to a lot lol. But I'm definitely up way later than 11 most days..idk how anyone goes to bed that early omg! My last concert was eras and I hope I can have time to watch the movie next week. I finally watched Saltburn and Bottoms a bit ago but I thought they didn't really live up to the hype after hearing so much about them but I guess they were okay.
Yes I saw it and I'm really excited. I did not like this cover as much and I think I liked the Albatross one more but everyone loves this one. Based on the titles, I think it is one I'm more excited for and the Manuscript. It's really interesting how they all have the in the title and they seem very metaphorical I guess. I wonder if that's on purpose and there is a connection. This lyric old habits die screaming didn't interest me as much though. The title is most likely a metaphor for depression and what it meant in the old days. She also sang a Clean and Evermore mashup after announcing it which may be a hint if it is about that. I saw the mythology hell hound theory too so I guess we will see. I also like it for being the last bonus track and if it will feel like a closer to the album, similar to Evermore maybe. But it also could be about something totally different! What do you think? Which one or two are you most excited for? I loved that mashup so much but I see what you mean about others. It also means she will run out of more songs faster too lol.
Well you got most right! But my favorite is Love Story forever. It's actually hard to choose a fav from Fearless so I always go with that one and I just love it. Also Teardrops was my fav on debut for a long time even if it's a single. It was harder to say a least fav for debut..I think I would have said the Outside but I knew you liked it lol. The rest of my least favs are ones that I'm just overall meh on and have been for a long time, and the way I loved you fits thatand so does Never Grow Up. But I might like We Were Happy less than it still. It might have been confusing for Red cuz I didn't know if ATW10 was too easy so I put my other fav State of Grace and another least fav, since I mentioned not liking WANEGBT which is Babe. She apparently performed it tonight with a mashup of DBATC. I think that song is also just a little overrated and I liked it less over time I think especially compared to Cornelia Street. Actually my other least fav on Red I have always been meh on is the Moment I knew which is somehow an unpopular opinion. The Lakes could never be my least favorite, and I do like the tour version of Illicit Affairs more now, but I just think it doesn't have enough in the song. Question is fine but I would definitely cut it for any other song from 3AM. It's one of my least fav Taylor songs in a while..and just gives me flashbacks to being made fun of in high school when she sings making fun of you. There is something kinda mean spirited in the song that makes me dislike it and personal experience probably influenced that. Its also always kinda reminded me more of a Maisie song like Outdoor Pool, and it just doesn't work for Taylor. I honestly don't know why it would be someone's favorite, but don't feel bad for getting some wrong.
Anyway okay..my turn to guess! I hope I don't get any wrong. Fav..tied together with a smile, jump then fall, dear John, Sad Beautiful Tragic, new romantics, new years day, afterglow, mirrorball, right where you left me, and dear reader. I think these make sense and my own answers probably influenced the choices on ones I wasn't sure. It's always interesting how we all like and dislike different songs. It makes me more excited for the new album too. Happy March! The album isn't even that far away anymore. I'm going to listen to Ariana's tomorrow and Beyonce is soon after. Also twenty one pilots announced their new album and it's coming out almost exactly a month after Taylor on May 17th so it gives me something else to look forward to. I'm really trying to stay positive and hope it will be a good month. Have a nice rest of the week and weekend!
hi friend!! so sorry this is so so late :( i hope you've been having a good week! 🤍
i usually get home from hockey games at around 11ish which is pretty late for me anyways haha! i start my days very early, so i'm just used to at least ~ being in bed ~ by 11! not necessarily asleep, but i find that being cozy / in bed by then is good for me, especially when i have things to do the next day (which i almost always do). but i'm also just allergic to sleeping in (partially because of the dog, partially just because of who i am as a person) and am always out of bed before 7 at the very latest on weekends and before 6 on weekdays!
i don't think i'll be watching the movie for some time! especially since i've got vancouver at the end of the year. i think i'm just a little burnt out from eras tour (we can still talk about it! just that watching so many streams, etc. is getting to me). but also because i have a busy few weeks ahead! i never got around to watching saltburn (don't think it's my kind of movie) but am actually watching mean girls the musical tonight with a friend! so i'll let you know what i think of it next time we chit chat :)
i think i'm most excited for the manuscript too! i'm actually going to be out of town for the first two weeks of april, so this will be a nice treat to listen to when i'm back — i'll probably listen to it a lot while i'm camping out for record store day! oh i'm so glad i got most of them right! i love every song on debut really but have very strong memories of listening to the outside + tied together + invisible (as well as the singles) in the car, on my ipod, etc. i never thought of question in that way, but i do see how it could be! it really reminds me of normal people, which is why i love it, i think. but it's not in my top 5 midnights (3am included) by any means. andddd you were totally right for all of them! jump then fall was my ringtone for years — one of two ringtones i ever purchased haha.
happy march!!! i hope your march is going well! i listened to ariana's album, and some of it is like 🫢, i cannot believe she has the audacity to say some of this! her enunciation/diction has improved so much though. i love we can't be friends, haven't been able to stop listening to it. and i think bleachers is a grower-album for me, unfortunately it is not my favorite. but i love call me after midnight.
how's your march been treating you? anything you're looking forward to? 🤍 sending you lots of love!! xo
