This is an altar for Gisberta Salce (1961-2006), an immigrant brazilian trans woman who was living in Porto, Portugal, where she was brutally murdered, in 22.02.2006. Yesterday, 17 years after her death, I went to the street where she lived unsheltered, the same one where they took her life. I placed these wild flowers and white candle (1st picture) beneath the mural painting "Rua Gisberta Salce" (Gisberta Salce street). Today I returned there to see if the flowers needed rearrangment or the candle to be lit and it warmed my heart to see more flowers and candles placed next to mine (2nd picture). Someone wrote her a beautiful and painful letter and placed it on the wall, which says:

Gisberta, I don't know you / Or let me rephrase it, I don't know you from sight but from pain / Gisberta I saw you only in death / You deserved to be here / It seems like they took the pleasure of growing old from our bodies / Anyone who sees us existing can't even imagine, ignoring the hoarse voice of those who live in expense and naked / because, Gisberta, the other's eye still marks our survival / but rest now / you will be forever buried in the trans heart.

Juegos Bonaerenses 2023 / Pintura PCD / Instancia Regional 🎨

Junto a Eugenio Salces participamos de los Juegos Bonaerenses 2023, área cultural en instancia regional IX, en la ciudad de Alberti. Representando al Centro de Día RENACER de Junín, como concurrente del Taller de Arte, que dicta Kevin Ortiz.

En el transcurso de la jornada, el jurado otorgó a Eugenio el primer puesto en la categoría: Pintura PCD (Personas Con Discapacidades). Pasando a la instancia final en la ciudad de Mar del Plata.
