Thank YOU for pointing that out! For the longest time it bothered me how other characters say he's in love with her but when she revealed her mark tying her to the Crimson king his immediate thought was "I must kill the king at all cost" unlike Kyoshiro who wants to prioritize her first. In fact, they fought over her because Kyoshiro believed Kyo really would kill her just to get rid of the king, but it suddenly came out as some love rivalry. Just assumptions that ran wild but Kyo never bothered correcting the notion, only his actions spoke for him and his disinterest was pretty clear.

It's only Yuya Kyo genuinely love as a woman.

I never got the impression that Kyo loved Sakuya. Curiosity maybe? She’s pretty and pure compared to him, so maybe he felt some kind of draw towards her? I mean, he was willing to kill her because of her connection to the Aka No Ou. If he loved her, he wouldn’t have easily conceded to the idea of killing her.

He obviously didn’t mind her company and likes her to an extent, but he was there because of Kyoshiro. Other characters comment about Kyo’s supposed feelings towards Sakuya but Kyo never says anything about them, but if he did, it wouldn’t be what other people assume.

Her similarities to Yuya are not that great. Maybe their pureness you could say, but personality wise they are not that similar. Yuya has a temper and argues back with Kyo which i don’t see Sakuya ever doing. She’s too passive and meek, and i don’t think Kyo would like that in a woman. I also don’t see Kyo picking on/teasing/flirting with Sakuya the way he does with Yuya.

Omori game has awakened something in me and I think it was Hoshi wa Utau associatons, so I drew a boss fight that 100% happened in hwu canon. I'm still yelling a bit bc they fit so well, so here I come with Hoshi Wau Utau RPG Maker Game AU Nobody Asked For!

Sakuya fights enemies with her ENTHUSIASM POWER, her weapon against rain mobs is TERU-TERU-BOZU

Seichan deals most damage, her strongest attack is "OJOU-SAMA's LAUGHTER", always gives a critical hit

Chihiro's skills make enemies despressed and greatly reduce their speed, but sometimes hit his party members too

Yuuri is healer, restores hp with Yuuto's cooking and helps friends regain adequate state of mind when they get carried away with hurtful emotions and also can distract enemies by telling them random facts learned from his grandma

and Sakura is that one sad and fragile npc with love for trees and a plant in her name
