Q1. What was your reaction when you first heard about the Asia tour?
When I first heard about the Asia tour, the scale of it was so huge I was just completely shocked (lol). At the same time, I also received the materials for the Asia tour theme song, "Bring the LOVE!" and as I listened to it, I gradually felt a growing sense of joy, thinking, "I get to sing with my seniors again…!" The lyrics even include words from the places we’re visiting on the Asia tour, which made me feel excited both when listening to and singing the song!
Q2. What are your thoughts on the response to the performances so far?
Seeing how happy everyone was through the live stream and receiving so many warm comments on social media made me really glad! I also felt truly blessed that our seniors performed songs from Hasunosora…! [From all of Hasunosora] "Dream Believers" is a song that holds the heartfelt desires we cherish in Hasunosora. Once again, thank you so much for carrying those feelings with you on this tour!
Q3. What is your image of the venue of the Yokohama performance?
When I think of Yokohama, I associate it with Yokohama Arena, the venue of both Hasunosora’s 3rd Live Tour finale and the Love Live! finals, so it really feels like a "decisive battleground!"! At the time I'm writing this, I still don’t know whether they’ll be able to claim victory, but I know Kaho-chan and the others are going to give their all on stage to make their dreams come true, so we cast members will also be putting our full strength into the Asia Tour’s Yokohama show!
Q4. What are your feelings toward the Yokohama performance as Hasunosora, and what are you talking about with your fellow members?
The 104th Class members have been saying, "This Asia tour will be our first time performing on the same stage as our seniors from the Love Live! Series, so we're looking forward to it!" With all 3 grades together, Hasunosora has grown to a 9-member group, bringing even more power to our performances, so we’ll do our best to showcase this to everyone attending in person or via livestream and of course to our seniors as well! As a member of the Love Live! Series, I want to come together with everyone to create a wonderful stage!
Q5. Please give a message to everyone who's looking forward to the Yokohama performance of the Asia tour!
Since October 2024, our seniors have been carrying the torch of the Asia tour, and now, at the final stop in Yokohama, Hasunosora will finally be joining in. I’m incredibly excited for it! I hope we can create the greatest and most passionate time together with everyone there. We’re bringing a massive dose of "LOVE" packed with everything that makes Hasunosora so special in this moment, so please be ready to receive it!!

So as I'm waiting for the new Marvel Rivals patch (that's seemingly the size of an entire game in and of itself, Jesus Christ), I've seen some idiots get pissy at Emma Frost's design. I've not really got much stake in it, as I am a comics outsider looking in. But...really?
Tumblr media
Like the blue lipstick is a little too much (it didn't work in Concord, it doesn't work here), but if Wonder Woman got away with the bare legs for a good while, I don't see what the problem is here. And even then, we COULD just """fix""" her in the same way that Sakurai """fixed""" Mythra for Smash.
Tumblr media
See? Now everyone's happy. XD

Books I finished in January 2025!
Tumblr media
1. One Corpse Too Many (by Ellis Peters)
The second Brother Cadfael book where the 12th-century monk solves a mysterious murder during a brutal civil war.
The first of these books was solid, but the resolution of its mystery left me lukewarm. But this one was great across the board. The cast was great, the mystery was compelling, the resolution was exciting and tense, and I have a crush on Hugh Beringar now! It’s everything I could have wanted from a medieval monk murder mystery story. I’m totally sold on checking out the rest of the series now.
2. On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft (by Stephen King)
One part Stephen King memoir, one part writing advice based on his success and artistic approach.
For a book that King says wasn’t supposed to be autobiographical, those were the best parts. King’s life makes for a good story and he tells it well. The actual writing advice, the meat of the book, is where I’m a bit mixed on. It’s mostly solid, with some that’s valuable as long as you remember it’s coming from this specific author with a specific approach, but occasionally he said stuff that made me think King was a total hack no one should ever listen to. But my own source of inspiration is notably the complete opposite of King’s, so that’s not a surprise lol.
3. Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver--Volume 2 (by Hikaru Sakurai)
The second volume of the light novel supplemental spinoff to a fake trailer for a Fate spinoff that doesn’t exist.
It was much better than Volume 1, but I still didn’t care about any of the characters, and even as a super fan of this franchise's brand of bullshit, I can’t get past the premise of it being a spinoff to a hallucinated and less interesting alternative to a story I already like.
4. Absolution (by Jeff VanderMeer)
The fourth Southern Reach Trilogy book.
It’s a neat supplement to some of my all-time favorite books. The characters here were good, but I didn’t vibe with them as much as the OG cast, even if Lowry is *delightfully*’ horrible--one of the most reader-hostile narrators I’ve ever seen, and I kinda adore it. It was a good read, but I don’t expect it to stick with me like the original three books did and still have. It has reminded me to put VanderMeer’s other books on my TBR, though, so I’ll try to get to those sooner rather than later.
5. Wishful Drinking (by Carrie Fisher)
A comedic Carrie Fisher memoir about growing up in and among the acting business.
Short but sweet. You can feel the one-woman stage show origins, and because of that, it didn't go into as much detail as I would like--though that sounds voyeuristic now that I type it out--so it was a bit disposable. It is also painfully a product of the mid-2000s, often making it dated and annoying rather than actually funny.
6. Emma (by Jane Austen)
Emma Woodhouse’s hobby is matchmaking, and surely nothing could possibly go wrong with that.
It was fine. There was stuff I enjoyed, especially the first quarter or so, but the rest of the book tended to drag. I don’t like Emma enough as a character to carry a book this long, plus I didn’t vibe with the resolution. I’m sure someone’s made a decent two-hour film adaptation that cuts all the downtime without losing much.
7. The Faithless (by C.L. Clark)
After liberating her homeland, former soldier Touraine returns to the empire as an ambassador to preserve her country’s newfound freedom.
The award for the first book of 2025 that I've angrily ranted to friends about on Discord goes to...! This one was a slog. I've lost any scrap of goodwill I had for this series after the first book's disappointing ending. I can't even praise the continuation of the leads' relationship because this sequel neglected anything still compelling about them and furthered the insult by replacing once compelling characters with dull incompetence that rendered the story more laughable than dramatic. I am so happy to DNF this series.
8. Murder in the Mews (by Agatha Christie)
A solid Poirot short story anthology. The first story was great. Second boring. Third good. And fourth okay.
9. The Pairing (by Casey McQuiston)
Theo Flowerday’s vacation gets off to a drastic start when they find out the ex-boyfriend they’re not quite over accidentally booked a seat on the same tour.
A cute and sexy romance. The initial hook really gripped me. Then the rest of the first half almost lost me. But the back half got me back and stuck the landing pretty well. The characters and conflicts are a couple tax brackets too high for my taste, so while I’ve enjoyed the two McQuiston books I’ve read, I’m tentatively going to avoid Red, White & Royal Blue for now ‘cause I KNOW that will ramp that issue up by a thousand lol.
10. Someone You Can Build a Nest In (by John Wiswell)
A classic shapeshifting pseudo-cannibalistic puddle of tentacles and gore meets girl story.
Super fun, delightfully gnarly, but also way more wholesome than I expected. The tongue-in-cheek political commentary from Shesheshen could be a bit too blunt, and for an inhuman puddle who doesn’t understand humans she has shockingly potent emotional intelligence. But those are minor nitpicks for an otherwise good read that I recommend.
11. The Daughter of Doctor Moreau (by Silvia Moreno-Garcia)
A retelling of the HG Wells classic.
Peak. Fire. Raw. Brilliant historical science fiction drama. I have nothing but praise. Compelling cast. Great tension. That ending? OOOOOOOOOH *chef kiss* *chef kiss* and another *chef kiss*! If The Seventh Veil of Salome (also great, go read it) didn’t put everything Silvia Moreno-Garcia has written on my TBR, this has cemented it.
12. Bury Your Gays (by Chuck Tingle)
A gay Hollywood writer is being hunted by his own fictional creations.
Really solid queer horror. It was a bit too “say the theme out loud” for my taste, but that’s not much of a criticism since the fighting against being condemned to subtext is kinda essential to the theme, so that gets a pass even if it isn’t my preferred approach.
13. Monk’s-Hood (by Ellis Peters)
Brother Cadfael’s back, and this time he’s solving a poisoning case!
Another banger. The cast was excellent, the pacing and escalating tension made it a breeze to binge through, and the worldbuilding was incredibly immersive. Without spoilers, the absolution scene at the end got me misty-eyed. There’s an excellent sense of compassion in these books often lacking in other mystery series. I’m really excited to keep reading this series.
14. The Colour of Magic (by Terry Pratchett)
The world’s worst wizard must watch over a tourist.
Oh no… the Discworld fans were right… this one’s mid as hell. Kinda contextualizes why they’re all so weird about reading orders, huh? (don’t worry, I read Guards! Guards! years ago, so I know what to expect from later books in the series--part of why even the stuff I liked about this book didn’t do much for me since I knew how much better it will be once I get a couple more books in). There is some good stuff here, but I never cared about the core story, so all I was left with felt like a bunch of hit-or-miss fantasy parody vignettes.

⟡ LAST FILM ⟡
Aquaman 2! I haven't seen the first one but I thought it was really fun. It felt like. It was made for women? Which is a weird thought to have during a film but I noticed the lack of male gaze and was sort of transfixed by that lack. The themes of the movie were fun and it was very eventful with tons of shit happening, which was a blast.
⟡ CURRENTLY READING ⟡
'The Adventures of Superman' the 1942 novel (1995 reprint version). I'm still just in the beginning parts but I really enjoyed its depiction of Krypton. It's wild to be reading the first superhero novel.
I also pulled out the FE Chess zine i have, but I haven't actually cracked it open yet. Both are in my 'active reading pile' on my nightstand :)

New Post has been published on https://otakudome.com/sentai-acquires-new-anime/
Sentai Acquires New Anime
Tumblr media
Sentai Filmworks has acquired several new anime titles for this year:
HOUSTON, TX — May 27, 2021 — Sentai announced today that it acquired Nozo x Kimi, the risqué comedy OVA spinoff series of Nozoki Ana, for audiences in the United States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Republic of South Africa, Latin America and Scandinavia.
Kimio Suga didn’t intend anything untoward, but a cascading series of unlucky events leaves him hiding in a gym locker as his female classmates return from PE class. Luckily he’s found by Nozomi Komine, a shy classmate who covers for Kimio despite his incriminating predicament. But Nozomi isn’t as demure as she seems, because shortly after saving Kimio, she blackmails him into a series of clandestine and compromising scenarios!
A production of Studio Zexcs (Diabolik Lovers, Cuticle Detective Inaba, Say “I Love You”), Nozo x Kimi is directed by Masato Jinbo (Senryu Girl, Restaurant to Another World, Shomin Sample) with series composition from Hideki Shirane (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Hayate the Combat Butler!!, Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar). The OVA series stars Ayaka Suwa (The Fruit of Grisaia, Love Lab, The Demon Girl Next Door) as Nozomi Komine and Yusuke Kobayashi (Darwin’s Game, Dr. Stone, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-) as Kimio Suga.
Sentai will stream the Nozo x Kimi OVA in association with select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.
For Sentai’s latest announcements regarding this and other great titles, be sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.

HOUSTON, TX — May 20, 2021 — Sentai announced today that it acquired exclusive home video distribution rights to critically acclaimed Vinland Saga, WIT STUDIO’s Viking-inspired anime epic based on the award-winning manga of the same name. Originally a streaming-only release, Sentai is now readying Vinland Saga for home video and targeting a Summer 2021 release. Sentai is planning both collector and standard editions for this highly anticipated series.
Raised on tales of the legendary land of Vinland, where warmth and plenty abound, young Thorfinn dreams of leaving behind the cold climate of Iceland and venturing into the great unknown. But when Viking sails appear on the horizon, the young boy is conscripted into a life of violence and brutality at the hands of merciless Viking Askalaad. With nothing left to him save revenge, Thorfinn swears vengeance against the man who slew his family, plunging headlong into a sprawling, blood-soaked, coming-of-age epic that marches to the drums of war.
Vinland Saga is animated by WIT STUDIO (Attack on Titan, Great Pretender, The Ancient Magus’ Bride) and directed by Shuhei Yabuta (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: Director, Inuyashiki: CG Director, No Game, No Life: CG Director). Hiroshi Seko (Jujutsu Kaisen, Mob Psycho 100, Dorohedoro) provides the series’ script and series composition; Kenta Ihara (Ajin: Demi-Human, The Saga of Tanya the Evil, Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious) provides the series’ script and screenplay. Vinland Saga stars Yuto Uemura (Tsurune, Bungou Stray Dogs, Darling in the FranXX) as Thorfinn, Naoya Uchida as Askeladd (Dororo, Kaiji, Drifters), Kensho Ono (Tanaka-kun is Always Listless, Kuroko no Basket, Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign) as Canute, and Yumi Hara (Overlord, Trinity Seven, Brave Witches) as Anne.
The series was awarded Anime of the Year at the 6th Anime Trending Awards, with Gerald Rathkolb of Otaku USA stating, “[Vinland Saga] is one of those rare anime that could have appeal outside of the anime sphere because of its setting and focus on complex characters and the excellent political intrigue ever-present in the show. It comes with my highest recommendation.”

Since I Was Abandoned After Reincarnating, I Will Cook With My Fluffy Friends: The Figurehead Queen Is Strongest At Her Own Pace, Vol. 2
By Yu Sakurai and Kasumi Nagi. Released in Japan as “Tenseisaki de Suterareta no de, Mofumofu-tachi to Oryouri Shimasu: Okazari Ouhi wa My Pace ni Saikyou desu” by M Novels F. Released in North America by Cross Infinite World. Translated by Emma Schumacker.
Having spent most of the first book giving us the setup for the series in general, I was surprised at how quickly this second volume maneuvers to ‘slow life cooking novel’. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still political intrigue galore, but for the most part Laetitia is not being attacked herself, and she only has to break out her ‘scary smile’ once. She’s happy and content, and that means she has real smiles now. True, she’s still not managed to figure out the true identity of His Majesty, but that’s not really her fault, and all of the lessons that her brothers pounded into her about anything and everything come in very handy. Indeed, the only time she actually gets upset is when she realizes that she’s starting to lose her Japanese memories – she can no longer recall her own name, and various other things are going as well. This is a one-way isekai street.
The book is essentially a) Laetitia makes food, and b) Laetitia makes peace. We se her trying endless strawberry menu items, as well as inventing sandwiches, which she gives out to all the workers helping build a clearing a dog house… erm, griffin house, as well as to King Glenreed, who is finally learning to enjoy the wonders of food, especially once the queen brings the equivalent of a hotplate so the food hasn’t gotten cold by being tested for poisons before he eats it. Elsewhere, she’s helping Natalie, the disgraced queen candidate from the first book, slowly recover her status and learn how not to behave like a robot. She also meets two more candidates – Kate, a fiery catgirl who is every stereotype you could imagine when I say that, and her scheming sister Sienna, as well as I-Liena, who is savvy, smart, knows when to hold em and when to fold em, and is apparently lying about something, though we may need another book to find out what that is.
Laetitia is, for those who try to avoid this sort of thing, a bit too perfect here, if we’re being honest – but frankly, I think that’s what most readers want to read about. She’s kind to Natalie and Kate, she figures out Sienna’s tricks and helps to take her down, and she even exchanged one word with the mysterious 4th Queen candidate, who shows up in this book but does nothing and then disappears. I suspect her of being final boss material. She also gets to go riding on her griffin at one point, and is the very definition of “living the dream”. That said, she still thinks of herself as a figurehead queen, as does the nation, though I suspect very soon folks are going to guess that the King is starting to fall hard for said figurehead… which will lead to a lot of political fallout.
So yes, if you enjoy slow life cooking, this is a good read; if you enjoy women being polite to each other while scheming, this is also a good read, and if you just like seeing a sweet woman be really sweet to everyone around her who love her in turn, then it’s that as well. All the major angsty drama seems put off for future books – this is a comfy blanket sort of volume.
Oh yes, she invents pizza too.
