[Announcement #4] CCS Merch Sale 2.0

Happy June everyone! Sadly, there is no new Clear Card Arc chapter this month, but I’ve finally had a moment to sit down and update my previous sale post. Some of the items that went unsold last time are back on here, but there are also new items I got at Sakura Fest and the Ikebukuro limited shop in April. There is also another item from the November 2016 Ichiban Kuji that I didn’t post previously.

The items and their prices in USD (not including shipping) are below. Items with a ☆★☆彡 next to them are either sold or reserved/on hold:

1) Ichiban Kuji: Prize D; Sakura Vanity Pouch - $15 USD It’s a fuzzy little pouch that zips open. Good for keeping small items or makeup in.

2) Ichiban Kuji: Prize E; Kero-chan Plush - $10 USD (SOLD & SHIPPED ☆★☆彡) I only got one of these plushes too, but little plushes just aren’t my thing. I want him to find a good home with another fan. :)

3) Ichiban Kuji: Prize G; Stationary Sets - $40 USD (SOLD & SHIPPED ☆★☆彡) This is a complete set of all 4 versions of stationary available from last year’s Ichiban Kuji. Included in each pack is a notebook with stationary paper and a small clear file folder. I am selling these as a set and not individually.

4) CCS Movie Revival/Animate: Sealing Wand Ring - $25 USD (SOLD & SHIPPED) This is a really cute little ring of Sakura’s Sealing Wand that’s adjustable to your finger size. I got it from the CCS Movie Revival in January. I have 2 and the one I’m selling is unopened.

5) CCS Movie Revival/Animate: Star Wand Ring - $25 USD (SOLD & SHIPPED ☆★☆彡) Similar to the one above, this ring is of Sakura’s Star Wand. This also came from the CCS Movie Revival. It’s adjustable to your finger size and the one I’m selling is unopened.

6) CCS Movie Revival/Animate: Charm Bracelet - $35 USD (SOLD & SHIPPED) This is a lovely CCS themed charm bracelet. Just like the rings, I have 2 and am selling an unopened one. I got this at the Movie Revival as well.

7) Sakura Fest 2017: Brochure & Seiyuu Interview Booklet (2 Available) - $22 USD This is the official book from the Sakura Fest 2017 event in April. It contains character pages and seiyuu interviews. It’s 16 color pages total and I have 2 booklet copies available. Japanese language only.

8) Sakura Fest 2017: Sakura Post-it Note Set - $10 USD This post it note set was available for purchase at Sakura Fest. It’s a hard covered note set and the outside features Sakura in her Create Card/Big Card episode outfit. The post-its themselves don’t have any designs on them, but I honestly think that makes it easier to use them up. :)

9) Sakura Fest 2017: Kero Vanity Pouch - $20 USD This is a pink pouch featuring Kero from Sakura Fest 2017. It’s soft and can be used for travel (e.g. toiletries, make up, charger cords, etc.) or whatever else you like. It’s roughly 20cm x 15cm large. (NOTE: The first two photos are of this one. I’m selling Suppie’s separately.)

10) Sakura Fest 2017: Suppie Vanity Pouch - $20 USD This is a purple pouch featuring Suppie from Sakura Fest 2017. It’s soft and can be used for travel (e.g. toiletries, charger cords, etc.) or whatever else you like. It’s roughly 20cm x 15cm large. (NOTE: The last two photos are of this one. I’m selling Kero’s separately.)

11) Sakura Fest 2017: Sakura’s Birthday Card (2 Available) - $6 USD ( ONE SOLD & SHIPPED; ONE STILL AVAILABLE ☆★☆彡) Ignore that it says “postcard” on the picture link; that was a mistype on my part. This is a CCS birthday card featuring Kero and Suppie. I have two of these for sale.

12) Sakura Fest 2017: Sakura Fest Birthday Totebag & Keychain - $30 USD This is a mini totebag that was sold at Sakura Fest 2017 and features Kero. It’s about 29.5cm x 19cm in size (USB in the photo is for size-comparison) and includes a small heart-shaped acrylic keychain with Sakura.

13) Sakura & Tomoyo Keychains - $15 USD (SOLD & SHIPPED ☆★☆彡) A rubber keychain/cellphone strap set featuring Sakura and Tomoyo.

14) Sakura Keychain - $10 USD This is a small acrylic heart-shaped Sakura keychain bought at the Tokyu Hands limited store in Ikebukuro.

15) CCS Wall Poster - $10USD A wall poster featuring Sakura & Kero. Sakura’s outfit is from the final battle with Eriol. The size is roughly 51cm x 73cm. (NOTE: I am currently looking for a good shipping container for this one.)

Just as before, I’m selling everything above directly using this tumblr post and PayPal. If you buy more than one item, I can do combined shipping. Below is how the selling/shipping works:

#1) DM me and let me know which item(s) you want. It’s first come first served, so as soon as an item is requested I will update this post to make note of that. If the item you want is already requested by someone else, I will let you know that it’s on hold/sold.

#2) In your request message, please tell me the country you would like me to ship to. Shipping from Japan is a bit expensive (e.g. EMS shipping to the United States starts at $20 USD), so I will check on the exact shipping cost to your specific country first and then message you back with the total cost (item + shipping).

#3) If you are okay with the total cost, I will message you my PayPal details. Once I confirm payment, I will take the item to the post office on the next weekday (Monday - Friday) and send it out. When you send your payment, please include the following in the PayPal notes:

★) Your Name ★) Full Address ★) A phone number (mobile or otherwise) for the shipping label - I can’t complete the shipping label without this!

#4) I’m shipping via Japan Post EMS because they have a good tracking system for international packages. When I post your item in the mail, I’ll send you a snapshot of the shipping label & tracking number so we can both keep an eye on where your package is. For the birthday cards and Sakura Fest Brochures ONLY it is possible for me to do Airmail instead of EMS. This would make shipping cheaper overall but please note that I can’t provide a tracking number, insurance, or delivery time frame with this method.

[IMPORTANT NOTE] If I get a lot of requests all at once, I will follow up in the order I receive them. Due to my work schedule and time zone differences, it may take me a day or two to confirm shipping cost & totals. Okay, So this interview (you have attached here) was given by Kishimoto, sometime around 2002 or something.

"We'll see Itachi and some other characters that have been mentioned only by Name"

So, this Interview was given by the Author way before Chapter 141 where Itachi appears for the first time in the Manga. In this same interview he talked about Sasuke being the Rival... And Sakura being the Heroine.

There is this Shonen Jump Festa from 2014 where he said this...

"Yahagi-San told me to focus on the MC in the first 2 chapters. And then to use Chapter 3 onward to establish the rival and heroine to create a love-triangle relationship between the characters... I'm not good with female characters, So I wasn't planning on this initially..."

However when asked about why Naruto didn't end up with Sakura...

He told that Sakura was just another character like Kiba. And this interview was from Shonen Jump Fest 2017.. Three years after the manga got over.

I think both Sasuke and Sakura wasn't his Idea atleast in the beginning... Probably he knew that he was going to write a Gay Story when he decided to create Sasuke and immediately he created Sakura as a shield.

Sasuke has several nosebleeds (I repeat: nosebleeds! 😏) and Sakura thinks it’s a medical condition (which is not) because it happens all the time and the whole team gets concerned. Do you like any other fandom? Like Marvel for example?

‘Other fandom’ is a really broad term there, but I’ll assume that the fandom I ‘usually’ like is tokusatsu since I post about that 90% of the time

This ended up going into my fandom history so here it is under the cut

Anime and manga are my real first love; particularly Pokemon, which began in 2005(?) with the Pokemon Movie 4 about Celebi. My preference for Japanese dubbed, English subbed material in anime also began because of the Black and White anime season as Dawn was my favourite character. I started reading manga in 2010-2012 with a Gold, Silver and Crystal volume from the Pokemon Adventures series (it was the one where Crystal debuts). Pokemon in general is that one series I can’t seem to break away from.

I spent quite some time reading and watching things in the shonen genre, though I haven’t taken a look at popular works like Naruto and One Piece. It’s been things like Bakugan, Beyblade, Megaman NT Warrior, Rumiko Takahashi’s works (I recently watched her Mermaid Saga anime) and others. But since I’m a complete sap for shipping, I went into shoujo works as well. CLAMP was the beginning point for that - we used to have a English dubbed video tape with around three of the Cardcaptor Sakura anima episodes. I was very obsessed with CLAMP in 2013-2014; I often borrowed CLAMP manga to copy the art into my sketchbooks and drew in a similar style. After that it was Hibi Chouchou and Nagi no Asukara; the latter of which induced a rage fest in me even four years after the series ended.

Other manga and anime I’ve liked include Hirunaka no Ryuusei, Soul Eater, Noragami, Princess Jellyfish…there are more than this tbh but I can’t recall everything

I began watching tokusatsu again in 2012, as I’d spend Saturdays watching Magiranger and squealing over Hikaru/Urara. Tokusatsu is a fandom I flutuated in tbh. In 2014 I discovered Kamen Rider Wizard and probably Kamen Rider W, in 2016 I saw some episodes of Kamen Rider Drive and late 2017 some episodes of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. I can’t remember what my Super Sentai love was like…I think after Magiranger it was Shinkenger, then Goseiger, Gokaiger, Go-Busters and Kyoryuger

2015 marked the beginning of me paying more attention to Korean media. Up until then I thought Hong Gil Dong was my favourite drama and that SNSD had twenty members. But then I got into SHINee, some other K-Pop groups and dramas. I was infatuated with the images idols presented to the point where I even wrote fan fiction for them. I also got into a string of K-Dramas such as Who Are You: School 2015, Boys Over Flowers, the Reply series, To the Beautiful You, Chicago Typewriter, Shopping King Louis, etc. It was radically different from Disney live-actions, of course, but I loved it and it was like that for the next year or so

2015 was also the year I first got into Star VS the Forces of Evil, though as of recent I’ve been “meh” about it because season three…anyway, other Western animation I’ve seen are mostly children’s programs (that’s what they all say) like Jane and the Dragon, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Steven Universe and others

I will always be a fan of Disney and Dreamworks movies. Period.

2017 was a cooler period since I focused on getting good grades (right now I’m out of my depth) and was a little tired of how K-Pop’s general consensus was becoming BTS at the time

For some reason Western comics don’t stick to me? I’ve never been particularly interested, sans moments when I’m going “phase crazy” (I get obsessed with something for a week to a month). Maybe Marvel just doesn’t work out for me, but that’s fine

So this concludes the really long answer I shouldn’t have given, but I felt like there was a lot I could work with for the rather broad question XD

AVC Anime Fest: Monroe 2017 ~ Sketch Commissions, No. 1-5

Had a handful of sketch commissions at AVC Anime Fest in Monroe this past weekend! I honestly had to stop taking commissions at one point in the day because I was getting tired. As always, so sorry for the camera phone quality! Had to make do with what I had! Thankfully no take-home commissions this time, which is a good thing considering I still have 3 watercolor commissions from Louisiana Comic Con.

Regardless, thank you to everyone who stopped by Rusty Bee Productions’s table this past weekend. Our last event of the year was a great success and I’m already looking forward to next year’s con season!

What is your favorite zine of the moment? My favorite zine right now is Spider Teeth. It's been on my mind a lot. It's also the zine that made me want to make zines.

What do you think of when you think of Olympia? I used to live in Olympia when I went to Evergreen and I kinda have a fond attachment to its weird rural and urban mix. Also, shitty roommates. Also also, Sleater-Kinney.

What are you gonna be for Halloween? I've been wanting to do a cosplay for a while of Reki from Haibane Renmei or one of Sakura's outfits from Cardcaptor Sakura and I might just use it for halloween.

What motivates you to finish a zine? I really struggle with motivation because of mental health stuff. I can be really productive for a short period and then struggle for the rest.

What’s your weather prediction for this year’s fest? I think it's probably going to be overcast with some rain. If the sun and clear skies do show up, it'll still be raining. That's what Olympia does.

What workshop are you the most stoked about? I'm most excited for Nia King's book self-publishing workshop. I don't know if a book is something I ever want to do, but I want to at least have the potential skills.

Sakura Fest 2017

I went to Sakura Fest 2017 in Tokyo today! It was a really amazing event and has already left both the Japanese and International fandoms buzzing!

Perhaps the biggest and BEST surprise was the reveal of the trailer for the Original Animation DVD coming out with the Special Edition of Volume 3 in September.

The rest of my rundown is below the cut. :) Most of it was posted on Discord earlier tonight in #ccs-general as well, so if you missed it and are curious, please have a look. I added in a few extra details as they came back to me.

I got to Rune Kodaira Hall just after 12:00. The goods stand was open to the general public at that point, so I did my shopping early before sitting down in the entrance lobby where fans were slowly gathering to wait. I was very lucky to make a friend there too! (Thanks so much for sharing the day with me @brienneoftarth!!)

Around 14:00pm the staff had us line up and we waited for doors to open until about 14:40 or so (they were running a bit behind schedule). After doors were opened, they handed out our “participants’ gifts” which included a flyer for the June Ichiban Kuji, the September 3rd Volume Special Edition, and a pink light up baton wand.

The hallways were really quite crowded! Also, all of the main companies involved with CCS (including Nakayoshi) had arranged for celebratory flower arrangements in honor of Sakura’s birthday. We were allowed inside the concert hall itself at this point, but the performance was still a bit delayed.

Then suddenly, Aya Hisakawa in Kero’s voice addressed the audience, saying Kero’s typical “Konanachiwa!” Kero made sure to scold the audience for not having a bigger reaction at first, but was satisfied after a minute or two. Then Sakura Tange as Sakura started speaking, followed by Junko Iwao as Tomoyo. Tomoyo asked Sakura to read her greeting and allow her to record it. Sakura read a greeting thanking everyone for joining and coming to her birthday party. Megumi Ogata and Motoko Kumai joined in at this point as Yukito and Syaoran respectively.

Then the curtain went up and all five seiyuu appeared. The MC came and she and the VAs greeted the audience. They told us to wave our light batons when anything happened that made us really happy or excited. After this, they proceeded to do a panel for us. The panel was introduced in about 4 parts total, each part being relevant to a certain Clow Card:

#1) The Return #2) The Voice #3) The Song #4) The Release (An unexpected one from the audience since it’s not a card).

The Return:

Fitting the theme of the card, the VA’s reminisced about the beginning of their work on the series as a timeline was displayed on the TV monitor behind them. From memory, the points that stood out to me the most were:

Sakura Tange said she hadn't read it when the serialization started in Nakayoshi, but rather started reading the series when the first tankobon came out. She doesn’t follow the series month by month as many of us do, but prefers to purchase the manga volumes. Incidentally, she’s doing this with Clear Card Arc too and had not yet read Volume 2 yet today.

In terms of their auditions, Aya Hisakawa said she found out the roles and wanted to try for Kero, as she had been doing Ami from Sailor Moon before then. But when she spoke with her manager and said "This is the role I want to do" he reacted baffled and replied "What? Can you do this role??" as she often used Kanto dialect in her roles but is originally from Kansai and can speak that dialect fluently.

Ogata-san's was the funniest recollection: She said she'd been in all sorts of darker roles up until that point and said it was the first time she was in a world where all the characters were "in a happy world." She was worried that Yukito was eventually going to betray or back stab somebody because that's the type of character she usually got cast as.

Then they talked about their auditions and Sakura Tange said she had some memory of having to do the dubbing several times. It took her about 4 rounds of tweaking to finally pinpoint Sakura’s voice.

At some point during the recording sessions, the cast had to come to Nagoya on business and were supposed to be greeted on the platform by someone from Shueisha. They weren’t sure who to would be picking them up, but as the train pulled into the platform, they looked out the windo and saw a very fashionable looking man standing with Kero somehow (I unfortunately didn't catch if it was a plushy or a mascot he had, but probably the former?). The cast got excited and were pointed out the window saying "That's the guy! that's the guy!" Aya Hisakawa said that all the kids on the train were also pointing at the escort because they knew who Kero was. Hisakawa-san said that’s a memory she’ll never forget.

Ogata-san was the complete opposite of Yukito/Yue and was very animated and lively. Kumai-san, on the other hand, was very much like Syaoran and was quite shy.

The cast also discussed certain scenes and clips from the anime. Motoko Kumai reflected on how she had to learn Kansai dialect for the scene from The Change card episode from Aya Hisakawa.

Motoko Kumai confessed that as a result of her voice work for Syaoran, there were several times where she mistakenly went to the men's restroom at work because she was so absorbed with the character.

Kumai-san also said that Syaoran was at an age where his voice would be changing and she was wondering if she would be okay for the role. At that moment, Ogata-san deepened her voice and said “Well then how about me?" It gave everyone a good laugh.

The Voice:

After “The Return” session finished, the next card introduced was The Voice card. The cast did a live voice over of various scenes from the original anime. The scenes were:

#1) When Sakura originally accepts the sealing wand from Kero #2) When Tomoyo finds out about Sakura's secret and meets Kero for the first time #3) When Syaoran tried to take the Clow Cards from Sakura, almost fought with Touya, and met Yukito for the first time #4) The final judgement scene where Mizuki-sensei gives Sakura her second chance and the wand transforms #5) The infamous elevator scene where Syaoran yells Sakura’s name for the first time #6) And finally the opening scene from episode 70 where Sakura is spaced out in the classroom before Syaoran comes in and says good morning to both her and Tomoyo

The best part of it being a live dub over was that the cast ad-libbed several times! In #1) Hisakawa-san shouted "Kero-chan CHEEECK!!!" instead of what the original line was. Everyone laughed and Sakura Tange decided to roll with it and adapted her lines too.

It became a running joke through the rest of the live dub scenes as the characters kept referring to the “Kero-chan Check.”

In #3) when Yukito appears and breaks up the potential fight between Syaoran and Touya, instead of the original line Megumi Ogata started listing off all the different kinds of buns Yukito had bought. It went something like "Let's see... I've got pizza buns, curry buns, meat buns... enough for everyone!” In the original scene, Yukito goes to hand one to Syaoran and he gets shy and backs away, but instead Motoko Kumai ad-libbed and said "No way, I want a pork bun!" making that the reason why Syaoran ran away.

The elevator scene was done very seriously and was lovely to see live.

The Song

After the live dubs, The Song card was introduced next and the audience was told that we would hear two live performances by Sakura Tange and Junko Iwao.

Sakura Tange sang the third OP song “Platinum” for us and Junko Iwao sang one of Tomoyo’s character songs from the anime - “Yoru no Uta.”

After this, a buzzer went off and we were told there would be a special guest joining us! My heart stopped because I thought for a brief, foolish moment that it might be Nanase Ogawa, but instead the cast was joined on stage by both Kero and Suppie life-sized mascots! Then a birthday cake was brought out and we were asked to sing Happy Birthday to Sakura. I think this is the point where the live feed on Animate’s website started for those of you who were able to watch.

The audience joined in and sang to Sakura, and Sakura Tange responded in Sakura’s voice.

The Release:

When the Birthday Song was over, the cast started to discuss the new Clear Card arc. The discussion wasn’t too in depth because they wanted to avoid spoilers for those who haven’t read the series yet. However, this was the point the introduced the trailer for the 3rd Volume Special Edition’s OAD.

The hall got very quiet and everyone turned off their batons. The trailer shows that they will be redoing the finale of the original anime to fit the original adaptation in the manga. Syaoran’s confession at the park and Sakura’s gradual realization of her feelings and making of the bear for Syaoran are being animated for the first time.

Sakura Tange confirmed after the trailer finished that they literally just did the voice work for this about 5 days ago, so it was a very well kept secret!!

At this point I think the cast began to wind down the evening and gave us each their special thanks. They all seem very happy and excited to be back and working on Cardcaptor Sakura again. Sakura Tange said she had been hoping to do a live dub at most, but never dreamed it would actually happen.

For the finale, Sakura spoke her invincible spell saying “It will definitely be alright!” and asked the audience to shout “RELEASE” after reciting the spell to unleash her key. She chanted the spell and at the end the audience chimed in and shook the light batons as the curtain closed on the event. The cast waved until the very.

Upon leaving, each member of the audience got a special copy of the Sakura Newspaper announcing the anime. Also, as a bonus, @brienneoftarth (who had separate assigned seating from me) said that the row in front of her had been reserved for the member of Madhouse! They came to see the performance with press passes of sorts and she overheard them saying “Wow there’s a great turn out for this... I didn’t think it would be so popular!”

Honestly, I think this was one of the best events I’ve ever been to and I’m so glad we are getting what we are with the anime. This year and next year, we have a lot to look forward to guys! :D Until next time, take care!

SasuSaku Festival 2017 . Day 11- CEO x Assistant . Title: Chemical Reaction . Summary: AU- Sasuke is left alone to solve a formula for a new medicine, and is surprised when he finds out that he's got some company. . A/N: Okay, I think this will be the last fic I'll write for the SS Fest. There are still 3 themes to go, but there's also the SS Month coming up, and since you guys don't seem to be enjoying this very much, then I think I'll start the preparations so I don't take too long to finish like last year. Anyway, I tried to make something more realistic and light, and I hope you guys enjoy it! Please, tel me what you think, and have fun! . . . The numbers weren’t matching. He had tried every single math operation he knew, tried to balance the results and solve the equations, yet nothing seemed to work out. The light coming from that computer’s screen was starting to irritate his dark, tired eyes, and as he rested his hand over his mouth, the young businessman was starting to lose faith in himself.

It was already long past the time to go home, but Uchiha Sasuke decided not to leave his office until all the work was done. Necktie already forgotten, two buttons loosened and coat already hanging somewhere in his office, Sasuke struggled trying to finish his job before being allowed a good rest. As requested by his older brother, he needed to verify the formulas of a new medicine their company was developing, and even if he’d normally solve these kind of problems in a blink of an eye, that formula was just getting the best of him.

His head hurt like hell, the bags under his eyes were growing deeper and his breathing alternated from deep inhales to moments of pure relaxation. Sasuke had already lost count of the amount of coffee he had already drunk, and at that moment, as he stared at his empty mug, he knew he could not go on without that hot supply.

“ Screw this.” He scoffed, as he forcefully pushed himself up from his chair, ready to refill his mug. At that moment, he couldn’t care less if he had already had too much. He needed more coffee. He also needed to sleep, but work seemed to be more important than that.

The Uchiha made his way out of his office and down the hallway where the coffee machine was located. Sasuke could feel all his bones crackling and making sounds that didn’t seem to be natural at all, and a yawn escaped his lips as he scratched the back of his head. He searched for a coin inside his pockets, and as soon as he pressed the strongest option offered, the sound of the machine made his head hurt more until that delicious scent invaded his nostrils. Sasuke allowed it to tease his senses a bit before letting the hot beverage slip though his tongue and down his throat, enjoying the soothing sensation it eventually brought.

Coffee, as he had learned after being introduced to deadlines, was certainly his best, and probably only, company during such late, after-work hours. Most of the lights around were off, showing him that he was probably the one left to lock everything. For the first time, he was all alone in the empire his family had built, and he had never felt better at that place before.

He owned it. It was his and his alone.

Loneliness had never felt so comfortable, yet saddening before.

However, for the better or the worse, his loneliness didn’t last. As he finished his coffee, his eyes noticed, from afar, an illuminated table breaking the darkness of the office. At first, he thought that someone had probably forgotten to turn off the light before leaving, but just when he had made up his mind to walk up there, the one thing he was not expecting to see appeared right out of nowhere.

It was a foot. Two of them, covered by dark panty hose and appearing under the table he was looking at. His brows arched in confusion, as he was now approaching the table more carefully than before. The feet were childishly bouncing back and forth, clearly indicating that their shorty owner couldn’t reach the floor. Those were delicate feet. Women feet. And as soon as he crossed the wall that hid that person’s identity, the Uchiha was surprised by a messy and sleepy pink.

Their eyes widened as soon as they met, both adults left speechless at the unexpected presence. She had short, bright, pink hair that was messily tied up. Her clothes were wrinkled, her shoes tossed aside and there were many medical books opened around the table. A pencil was trapped between her rosy lips, and as those beautiful, emerald eyes kept glued to his dark ones, the Uchiha could feel his chest getting tighter.

Out of all people who could still be around, he had to be left alone with Haruno Sakura, one of the company’s assistants his brother had recently hired. Her unprofessional hair color and her strange work hours give out the idea of an irresponsible employee, and at first, he thought she was annoying with that silly smile always planted on her face. However, as the months passed, she proved herself to be indispensable for the company.

Sakura is smart, competent, and certainly, the most beautiful girl he has ever seen walking around that building— and outside of it.

And at that moment, he found himself all alone with her. Perhaps working that much had its perks.

“ Uchiha-san…?” She lifted her brows. " What are you doing here so late?”

“ Hn.” He cleared his throat. “ Working. Itachi left me responsible for the new formula.”

“ Oh… And how’s it going?”

“ Not good. That’s probably why that bastard left that for me.”

His comment made her chuckle, easing the awkward feeling their encounter had brought upon them. As his brother’s right arm, Sakura was more than used to the dynamic between the Uchiha siblings, and more than anyone, she knew how much love existed behind Sasuke’s words. They’re the perfect duo of the company, and if Itachi left him a tough assignment, it was because he knew his little brother could make it.

Even if, apparently, he was having a hard time.

“ I’m sure you’re gonna find the answer. Just try relaxing a bit and your brain will work better.”

“ Easier said than done.” He smirked, his attention brought down to her books. “ You seem to be having quite a hard task yourself, too, Sakura. Did my brother also asked you to do something impossible?”

“ Oh, you mean that because of the medical books?”

“ Aah.”

“ Ah- no… Your brother has nothing to do with this.” She smiled softly, tucking a pink strand behind her ear. “ I finished my quota already. Right now I’m just studying for my pharmacy test. The office is a much better place to study than my house.”

“ Oh, I see… And how’s med school going?”

“… Fine. Uchiha-san, are you really that bored about that task that you’re actually interested about my college life?” She smirked, knowing very well that he was not the talkative type. Even if he was the younger amongst them, Sasuke was definitely the grumpier one. For him, there was no point in initiating silly, small talks, and that was something that, according to his brother, would cause him to be single for the rest of his life.

Not that she agreed, though.

Sasuke is a very handsome man, and he’s also incredibly intelligent, bold and polite, even if she’s seen him behaving like a brat a couple of times when Naruto showed up uninvited. He’s quite popular among the girls around the office, and she knew the girl who captured his heart would be a lucky one.

He is an Uchiha, after all. Who wouldn’t want a piece of him?

“ Hn, touché.” He started, still smirking. “ Even tests seem to be more interesting than that formula.”

“ Oh, I bet they are… But honestly, you need a break. Not even all the girls from the marketing department would have enough foundation to cover your dark circles.”

“ Thank you for the compliment.”

She smiled, intertwining her fingers together and creating a bridge on her chin’s level. Apparently, an idea had crossed her mind, and since she was also in need of a break, the pinkette decided that it was the perfect chance for them to relax a bit. “ You need a drink.”

“ What?”

“ You need a drink.” She repeated, closing the book and turning to face him. “ And I’m not talking about coffee, since you’ve probably had enough of that already.”

“ Hn, And what do you suggest? I don’t think there’s any place open right now where we can go out for a drink.”

“ Oh… Who said anything about leaving?”

“ Uh?” He stared, confusion spread all over his face.

“ I’ll go get it and you find us two cups.”

“ …Hn.” Sasuke nodded, as his brain could not really make questions at that moment. " I think I have them in my office.”

“ Great. Meet you there, then. And don’t even think about going back to that computer.”

He smirked at her words, watching her stand up and stretch herself. She was still wearing the classical look of a white shirt and black skirt that she normally wore for work, but by that time, her clothes were all wrinkled. He noticed how her skirt was pulled up and the unbuttoned hole of her shirt exposed a small amount of skin that was already making his heart beat faster. At that moment, he realized that however they had ended up in that situation, he was not going to complain at all. Perhaps, he did need a break. They both did. And even if drinking around the office wasn’t really allowed, they were decided to ignore that rule.

It was not like they were on their working hours, after all.

“ Sakura.”

“ Uh? What is it?”

“ Itachi asked you to stay over, didn’t he?”

She grinned, biting her lower lip. That brother of his… “ I’m not paid to babysit you.”

“Hn. You would be terrible at it.”

And after his tease, Sasuke walked back into his office, finding the mugs Naruto had given him the other day. His best friend who worked in the social department had this thing for mugs, and giving some to the Uchiha was the perfect excuse to feed his weird fetish.

That idiot, he thought. He certainly couldn’t believe those mugs were actually going to help him.

By the time he placed the ceramic cups on his table, his eyes captured her pink figure walking in through the door. She was still not wearing shoes and her hair was still a mess, but this time, she simply looked beautiful as she held that bottle of wine in her hands.

Apparently, that girl had her tricks.

“ So you had a bottle of wine?”

“ Just because you own the company, it doesn’t mean you know everything that happens around here.”

"Fair enough.”

She stopped next to him, her scent invading his nostrils and leaving him a bit shaken. With her delicate finger, she pulled the wine cork, making its characteristic sound before she started pouring some of it into their mugs. Carefully, she placed the bottle on his table and there was a smile on their lips, as she offered him that fancy mug so they could make a toast and drink that cheap wine the secretaries had stocked in their lockers. It was probably something that his parents would’ve never expected to see him drinking, however, he had never tasted a better wine before, as her emerald eyes remained on him while she took a sip of the beverage.

What an amazing way to distract his mind from work, he thought.

“ Honestly, I didn’t know I needed this.”

“ We always need wine.” She teased. “ We deserve it after such a long day of work. Besides, it’s healthy and prevents a lot of diseases.”

“ I thought we were supposed to forget about work and college.”

“ Right. I’m sorry, Uchiha-sa-“

“ Sasuke.”

“ Eh?”

" Just Sasuke. We’re drinking in a work place. You don’t have to be formal or anything.”

“ Oh…” She smiled, feeling her cheeks getting warmer. What a gentleman, she thought. “ Okay, Sasuke.”

The way his name rolled out of her tongue made his heart skip a beat, and before he knew it, his lips were curling up in a soft smile. They stared at each other for a while in a comfortable silence, every now and then tasting their wine. Soon, though, she started walking around, as her eyes wandered around his office, paying particular attention to the pics that decorated the place. There was one of his family that was the same as the one at Itachi’s office, and another where his older brother was giving him a piggyback ride. Seeing that pic made her chuckle in pure contentment, causing him to feel a bit embarrassed but also a bit nostalgic inside. Those were great times, indeed. Before their parents’ tragical death and before the entire world fell on their shoulders.

Before, things were simple. Innocent.

And now, even if he has his brother around, things are a lot more complicated, for sure.

Being an adult sucks, he thought.

But it certainly has its perks.

“ Who would’ve thought that a boy like that would grow up to understand these things?”

Her voice brought him back from memory lane, and before he knew it, she was already sitting in his chair, staring at the formula that had taken his peace away. Sakura’s eyes were shining even brighter due to the computer’s light, and instinctively, he was drawn to her. Even if he had told her he was not going to check that formula, it ended up being impossible with her there.

“Hn.” He approached the chair from behind, leaning forward so he could take a better look at the screen. His scent and his heat were now reaching her, and for the first time, his proximity left her nervous. She swallowed dry, bitting her lower lip as she felt herself trapped in between the desk and his body. “ Normally, these things aren’t that complicated…”

“A-And what has made this one so difficult?”

“ I don’t understand what the amount of this component can do to the human body. I’m trying to lower the concentrations so the side effects can be less troublesome.”

“Uhm… But isn’t it a steroidal anti inflammatory?”

“ Yeah, but-“

“ I’m not really into chemistry, but…” She picked a pen and a white paper where she could, apparently, scribble some things. “ The physiology behind this kind of thing isn’t that complicated. Its main use is as an inhibitory of the immune system. Like, it will prevent the whole response of the immune cells. And with it, the body will expel more ions, such as potassium and calcium. So if you need to add more of these to balance the equation, there won’t be major consequences.”

His eyes widened for a moment and he was left completely speechless because of her knowledge. Even if he couldn’t understand everything that left her lips, the solution for his problems was there, now that he knew exactly how he could manipulate the formula.

He knew she was going to be a medic, so why on earth didn’t he think about that before?!

Now, as he looked at his computer’s screen, a whole world of possibilities seemed to be unfolding in front of him. He knew exactly what to do to proceed, and to make an even better medicine now that she was there by his side.

Haruno Sakura had basically just done his job for him. She had solved the puzzle, and even if it hurt his pride a bit, Sasuke couldn’t care less. She’s amazing. She’s beautiful, smart and funny, and twice that night, she had saved his life.

And maybe it was the wine or maybe it was just because he was too excited, but the Uchiha didn’t think twice before spinning the chair so she could face him, and before the pinkette could even react, his lips were already pressed against hers. It was a chaste kiss that caught her by surprise, but it was certainly more than welcomed by her heart.

His lips were soft, gentle and innocent, and when her eyes slipped shut, she could feel his dark locks tickling her nose and cheeks. The chair didn’t move, for his arms were still strongly holding it in place, and even if the whole thing didn’t last more than 15 seconds, it felt like an eternity.

Sakura liked him. And after that kiss, she thought he liked her too.

Oh, and if not for that stupid deadline, he was definitely going to confirm her thoughts.

“ Thank you. Damn it, Thank you.”

“Y-You’re welcome, I think…” She watched as his cheeks grew redder as he realized what had just happened, and before she knew it, his beautiful, dark eyes were already embarrassedly adverting her owns.

“I-I’m sorry… I didn’t. I—. Hn.” Her heart was beating faster, and as soon as she realized she had just left Uchiha Sasuke speechless, a soft smile showed up on her lips.

Itachi was definitely right. His little brother really can’t tell when a girl is into him.

One day, perhaps, she might try showing that to him.

One day…

“ I-It’s okay… Can I help you with anything else, Sasuke?”

“ What?!”

“ With the formula, of course.” She rushed, waving her hands in front of her face, blushing in the process.

“Oh… Let’s see…”

And so, they went on all night like the nerds they are. She explained him the effects of the substances and he took care of the calculus that would be necessary for the whole thing to work out. With both his chemical knowledge and her medical one, they formed a perfect duo. They worked with excitement and passion for the creation of something that would make lives better, and that was the kind of commitment that people lacked nowadays.

They’re working to make the difference.

They’re working to make a change.

Through the night, both of the young adults managed to make tons of beneficial changes in the original formula he had received. Unexpectedly, they didn’t drink much that night in order not to make any mistakes, and it was only after the clock was hitting 2 am that the girl started to surrender to her exhaustion from that long day. She was practically sleeping on his chair, and he knew it wouldn’t be fair to expect anything else from her.

Sakura had done more than enough already.

It would only be fair if he let her rest.

“ Sakura.” He said, softly, in order to wake her up.

“ Uh? Oh… Sorry, Sasuke… I feel asleep. What time is it, anyway?”

“ Don’t worry. It's pretty late already.”

“ Okay… Where were we?” She said, yawning and trying to return to wherever they had stopped.

“ Tch, you can’t go on anymore.”

“ Of course I can!”

“Stop being stubborn. Go rest a little. You’ve helped me a lot and it’s almost finished, either way.”

“ Oh, so you don’t need me anymore?”

“ Of course I do, but… Hn, it’s just that you’ve helped me enough already for today.” He pouted, feeling his own words making his cheeks turn red.

“ …I’m glad I could help, then.” She smiled, still sleepy. “I'll call an Uber then and-“

“ Tch, as if I’d let you get an Uber home.”

“ What?”

" Go lay on the couch and when I finish I’ll drive you home.”

“ You don’t really have to worry about me. I’ll be fine.”

“ Sakura… Don’t make me say it twice. I’m taking you home. End of story. Now go to sleep.”

The seriousness in his voice and the feelings behind it made her heart settle. Even if she really is a stubborn girl, Sakura knew arguing with Sasuke was of no use, for he is worse than her when it comes to receiving orders.

Fighting over that would be useless, she thought. Besides, when would she ever have a good excuse to sleep on his couch again?

Letting out a defeated sigh, the pinkette stood up and walked towards the couch that was located near the huge window. The lights of the city below illuminated empty streets, and she could feel a certain peace coming from it as she finally laid her head down on the leather upholstery. She closed her eyes, focusing on the sound of his breathing from afar, and before she knew it, her consciousness faded in a well-deserved slumber. She knew it wouldn’t take long until he woke her up, however, waking up to see Uchiha Sasuke right in front of her didn’t seem that bad.

She certainly couldn’t wait until her eyes opened again.

As her feet started to get warmer, Sakura could feel herself slowly waking up. She could feel her legs stretching and her heart was beating slowly faster, just like it normally does every morning. Her muscles felt incredibly relaxed, and she knew there was a smile playing on her lips as the sunlight bathed her cheeks. She could feel her body slowly responding to the soft awakening call of her system’s natural functions, and she couldn’t remember the last time waking up had felt so good.

It was all so pure, innocent and-

Her muscles suddenly froze. Her heart skipped a beat and she stopped breathing at the strange, warm feeling brushing against her belly.

Those were fingers, she thought. Long, slender and soft, all the five of them were there, and they were moving around, brushing her belly button and slipping through her skirt-

“ Ahh!”

Her scream echoed, and in a single move, she freed herself from that hand. Her body, eventually, fell on the floor, and that was the moment when she finally opened her emerald eyes to see the stranger that had been crazy enough to invade her house and slip into her room.

Just that… She was not in her room.

“ What…?”

And Sasuke was certainly no stranger.

“ Damn it… What the hell are you doing on the floor, Sakura?”

The sound of his sleepy, heavy voice made her eyes widen and all the words disappeared from her mind. Heart beating faster and mouth agape, the pinkette had no idea of what was going on anymore. She remembered falling asleep on his couch, but he was supposed to have taken her home after that.

He was supposed to have taken her home safely, and not-

“ Oh fuck…” Her cheeks grew redder as she placed both of her hands over her mouth. Her eyes were on him, watching as he sat up and scratched his head. A yawn escaped his lips, and when he finally looked at her, a blank expression took over his face.

“ What’s wrong?”

“Did we…?”

“Uh?” He knitted his brows, still not understanding her reaction.

“ Sasuke.” She said, strongly. “ Did we… have sex?”

It took him just a couple of seconds to change the expression of his face. What was calm and serene was suddenly turned into a deeply embarrassed one.

“Of course not! What kind of man do you think I am!?

His cheeks looked like tomatoes, his chest— which she could see thanks to his barely buttoned shirt— was also growing red and she could swear he looked like a child at that moment. From his reaction, she could truly tell nothing had happened between them the night before, and even if she did feel something for him, Sakura was glad o know they had kept their pants up all night. Uchiha Sasuke is a gentleman, after all. And the biggest proof of that was his flustered face that kept growing redder— If that was even possible.

It was kinda cute, if she were to be honest.

A relieved sigh escaped her lips, and instinctively, she ran a hand through her hair. Once both of them calmed down, the pinkette finally decided to look at him in search of answers. Even if nothing like that had happened, something must have happened for them to have literally slept together.

“ What happened after I went to sleep?”

“ Tch… I finished the whole thing, and when I went to wake you up-“

His thoughts betrayed him, and suddenly, he realized he couldn’t simply tell her the truth. He couldn’t tell her that he looked at her beautiful, sleeping form and just decided to lay next to her.

That would certainly sound strange, he thought.

And he didn’t need her to think he was that kind of man.

“ You went to wake me up, and then what, Sasuke?” Her emerald eyes were curiously looking at him, and suddenly, he found himself not exactly knowing what to tell her.

“ After that, I… I… Hn. After that I sat next to you and I must’ve fallen asleep. I-I’m sorry.”

“ Oh, no… I-It was not your fault.” She started, nervously. “ You were tired, so it was even better not to take the car, I guess.”

“… I guess.”

“Yeah…”

An awkward silence was left in that room, none of them actually looking at the other. The Uchiha was pouting and she was playing with a strand of her hair, trying to make her heart calm down. Sakura was trying to control her own breathing, and when she finally managed to do so, her eyes found the clock resting on his table, only to lose control all over again.

Crap.

“ Oh, shit!” She stood up quickly, uselessly trying her best to recompose herself. She was a mess, and the only thing that would be able to make her look at least presentable would be a bath.

And apparently, she had no time for that.

“What happened?”

“ I’m late. My first class starts in 20 minutes and there’s no way I’m gonna make it to the train.”

“ Hn, I’ll drop you there.”

“ You told me the same thing last night, Sasuke. And look at where we are now.”

“ Tch, it’s different. I mean it right now.”

“ Oh, so you weren’t going to take me home last night?”

“ What- no, I mean, yes! Tch, I’m not that kind of man!”

“ I didn’t take you as a cuddler either, but I was wrong.”

“ I‘m not a cuddler.”

“ Yes you are. Do I need to remind you where your hand was when I woke up?”

“ Tch, you’re annoying.”

“ Eh!?”

“ Do you want a ride or not?”

As she watched him stand up, Sakura felt her cheeks growing warm again. Uchiha Sasuke was simply gorgeous when he woke up, and anyone in her place would’ve reacted just the same. Even if she was late and even if people would give her strange looks when she got to college, nothing else mattered after seeing such thing first thing in the morning.

They had done something good together, she knew it. They had created something a lot bigger than them, and she was not only talking about the new anti inflammatory.

Something had started that night.

Babysitting him had, indeed, been worth it, she thought.

And at that moment, as he was putting on his shoes and looking at her with his car keys in hands, Sakura just knew she couldn’t say no to him. Not after everything they did last night.

He really is an amazing boss, she thought.

“ Okay… But we have a lot to talk about on the way.”

“ Like what?”

“ Like… Am I getting a promotion?”

“What for?”

“ Well, technically, I’ve just slept with my boss, so…”

“ Tch, go after your shoes already.”

Geez, the staff pulled a Kado 0 - 1 on us here…i.e. the ending of one ep is the same as the opening of the next ep. It’s just to a lesser extent than Kado did.

Seriously, who is Him??? They still haven’t told us!

Welp, there’s my answer. It was too obvious to centre a 12 episode series around, I would’ve given a plot point like that about…3 or 4 eps, tops.

Grimoire of Zero 11

The thing about this show is that you can just turn your brain off and watch along. It’s a tad slow, but enjoyable and that’s why I’ve stuck with it.

LOL, I understand what it’s like to have “messy, wormlike handwriting”…

I don’t believe a wisp of that karate chop, Holdem. The hand was at the wrong angle.

Finally, the show gets funny again. There’s the Zero we know.

I love the sense of scale the animators have demonstrated with the spells. Just saying that before I have no more chances to.

Ooh! Oh, that man. I actually side with Holdem on this one, he deserved that punch.

“I-“ – Ooh, at that moment I got completely engrossed in the cliffhanger. Normally shows don’t cut off in the middle of a sentence, do they?

Royal Tutor 11

I can’t believe they forcibly took Gregor. Isn’t there some kind of legal offence for-oh wait. That’s called kidnapping. (partially sarcastic)

I’ve always found it interesting that the princes have to refer to the king as such, rather than “dad”. That seems to be a problem in every single piece of media you get about royalty, although these guys have a conscious sort of “I am no longer the king, but your father” (and vice versa) switch which is controlled by Viktor.

Oh, so it’s basically all the Dickensian stuff you get in Oliver Twist…(I haven’t read it, but you know how it is with classics *rolls eyes*).

Heine’s movements are believable, but there’s some suspension of belief needed for Viktor’s (because he faints a little too fast, I think).

Welp, this ain’t quite crying material, but I can tell there was a “climax” where the audience was expected to cry. Knowing this is anime-only material keeps my eyes dry, I guess. However, knowing that Heine’s resigned as Royal Tutor really made my heart drop…after all, this is the second last episode, and I’ve really had fun watching these princes and their diminuitive tutor.

Bruno really likes Gendo poses, doesn’t he?

Heine’s voice is great for a noob VA. It really sells the character.

I always thought “hai-neh” was a weird pronunciation, but that’s what it says in the katakana.

Seeing Heine tell others their strengths really makes me feel like I’m missing them already, in a good way. I’m not tearing up yet, but it’s real heartwarming and I know if I were in the same situation, I’d cry too.

“Goodbye” isn’t quite “excuse me”, but I guess it works context-wise.

This is one of those shows where “show, don’t tell” works well and I think the show’s nailed it for the most part.

University degrees don’t necessrily make good tutors. Any student knows that, especially in uni.

I can see why even the author cried at this now, even though I’m still not crying.

W-Who’s that? With the dark hair? Eins???

Ah, there’s my answer. It was indeed Eins. Why does he have dark hair???

Welp, there’s one finale for the spring season over. The anime staff really couldn’t have done too much about Eins, though, which sucks. Come back another time for a different show, ‘kay?

Kado 10

I’m in that weird stage where I want to like Kado, but because everyone’s jumped ship, I won’t want to like it either…what a weird thing peer pressure is. *feels like crying*

I feel like I’m in Superhero Project (one of my stories) where protag Keisuke wakes up in a white expansive room to be trained in his powers. Only this time, they gave the room fractals.

Interesting. It’s like an alien LINE convo.

Sarasouju tree…apparently, it’s this thing. Commonly known as “sal”. I’ve never heard of it, though.

“Humans are ephermeal creatures.” – You remind me of Haibara (Detective Conan).

“There’re guns everywhere in America!” – LOL, that sure ain’t the truth, as much as America has gun problems.

Let’s play another common anime game. It’s called “Spot the Main Character from their Hair Colour”.

(SPOILERS for White Parasite from now on!) zaShunina’s still teetering on “cuckoo” from his facial expressions here. It’s sad, because I wanted him to be mysterious and beautiful like La Luna forever...that’s why I killed La Luna off!

*sigh* Okay, evil mastermind pretender, put your hands back on and please just negotiate like you wanted to in the beginning. (*on the brink of tears* Hey, I realised something. I keep making comparisons to White Parasite, but people find it confusing. By making those comparisons, I seem to have almost jinxed Kado to be this way.)

*crying because Shindo* La Luna’s force of living was the goodwill that it used to create its powers. Does that mean the anisotropic run off trust in the same way? (By the way, please don’t resurrect Shindo. That would break the laws of reality as we know it – even anisotropic laws.) (end spoilers)

Welp, I guess not. B-But, my dreams just got ruined by Saraka kissing Shindo (although the Kado tag spoilered it for me anyway)…

Pffffft. Okkkkkkay, Captain Shang, hold up!

Shindo’s angry face at Saraka wearing his shirt had me dying. He really is Captain Shang.

Kado. You were so beautiful at first. I placed my faith in you. B-But you changed, and now all I can do is see you through as you become a cliché fest I could have easily created with my own hands. In fact, I did create a Kado with my own hands - White Parasite. So I am the one to blame…I will have to see this through as I have seen through White Parasite.

Boku no Hero Academia 25

Well, that certainly threw me for a loop. Between two forces of roughly even power, it’s unpredictable who’ll win, but the ability to humanise a character comes with weaknesses. I know that already, as a writer and reader of hero stories.

All Might is such a fatherly type. I don’t think I could write a character like him – both OP yet grounded at the same time.

Wait, the woman with red streaks is his…aunty? Sister? I’m not sure at all.

Aw, this Shouto segment was just too good. I’m worried about Iida though, because from the Stain stuff I’ve seen floating around, he will not take the defeat of his bro lightly. Also, amazarashi is coming in the next part of BnHA! I loved Speed to Masatsu, so it’s good to meet him again here.

“An Encouragement of Learning” is a Fukuzawa work.

From Kawagoe to Chiba it really is about 2 hrs. Look.

The “game” in question, that rock paper scissors, was probably a batsu (penalty) game.

I guess I should’ve guessed Kotarou would’ve gotten angry at Hira eventually. I just didn’t think it would be now.

That shot of Kotarou walking down the street looked a little awkward because it looked like he was walking on a flat surface when it’s actually slanted.

It’s not just my video, is it? Akane’s crying got sped up and that pulled me out of what was meant to be an immersive scene.

Chotto matte means “wait a bit”, but I feel like “I’ll be right there” is warping the meaning a lil’ too much.

Well, I never expected this show to portray anger. It pulled Kotarou’s anger off really well.

I never thought I’d see the day where Kotarou would rely on the potato mascot, either. I like a show that goes out of its way to be unpredictable like this. Too bad it came a little too late in the game.

Tsukigakirei is all about following the heart and not necessarily the mind, so this is a pefect way to show it.

Oh! That was another good unexpected thing, but then they’ve been teasing that since the fireworks. Too bad they kept part of Kotarou’s face hidden right after it.

This end of ep LINE convo is about a couple that can’t sleep, so one of them starts talking about their part time job…then it gets cut off.

Oh, so that’s how Sakura is related to the main events…okay.

Were there always two potato mascots at the top of 13.70? I think one appeared there when Kotarou first received his, actually, although I’m not bothered to look…

The people aren’t CGI now…or I’ve somehow gotten used to them…? Either way, they’ve stepped up their animation game (in exchange for ep 12 being late, according to a note on the CR page).

That’s a cute jumper, Akane.

The fact Kotarou changes his message is something I can relate with. Even one forum post can take hours to type, even though time is always never on my side.

What’s that purple thing on the onigiri plate? A pickled plum? No, those are red…

A “root for the underdog” story is a classic, so I can see why Roman’s rooting for Kotarou.

Hahaha…yeah, let’s just sat I can’t understand the science for the life of me and leave it at that. That stuff’s chemistry, I haven’t touched it since I was 14 or 15.

The stuff about circles appears to be on segments, equal angles and so on (you know how you find the angle of a triangle based on where it is in a circle? Yeah, stuff like that).

Oh yeah, I never thought this but…Kawagoe Seminar. It’s named like Sailor Moon’s Crystal Seminar, and for good reason – both are cram schools.

There’s a grade score near Kotarou’s wrist, so understandably he got an A in Japanese.

Parents aren’t like that, Kotarou. They don’t always hope for your failure, they just hope you’ll do well in life…says someone whose parents have aways supported them.

Instead of having CGI people moving, they’ve finally done 2D people. However, the tradeoff is that now the people are not moving, which is just as weird if not even weirder.

“PoPo” is such a weird name for a shop, LOL.

No wait, I take part of my comment about 2D people back. There is still CGI, it’s just less prononced now they’ve bothered to put in 2D background people as well.

That scarf goes well with his outfit…says someone who sucks at coordinating outfits.

Why not just talk with her when you’re ready, Kotarou? If The Royal Tutor taught me anything, it’s that it’s always good to talk things over if you can’t understand each other.

Aitai can mean “want to meet”(like you’re meant to do to make the fish a heart), but the ai is in hiragana (so it doesn’t mean anything) and the kanji for tai used means “red snapper”. As in, the fish.

There’s a lot of ganbaru (try your hardest) used in this ep, and Kotarou says benkyouganbaresou in this “Sorry it didn’t turn out so great” convo. The nuance is therefore lost in the translated version, “I feel like I’m ready to study again starting tomorrow”, although I can’t suggest a better alternative.

Yeah, Kotarou’s mother is right. If you have a normal sleep schedule, you’re able to work better, despite how great it may be to sleep in.

I get easily lost on public transport, so I understand the vibe Kotarou’s parents are giving off.

This ep’s ED LINE convo is two people (one’s a guy, the other I don’t know the gender of) talking about studying and, at the start of the convo, the guy’s mother being angry. At the end of the convo it turns out the guy’s notebook was blank (and that’s the punchline to the convo).

Asterisks mean licensing’s been confirmed already for me as of this post - I’ve asterisked anything confirmed to be by CR this season, because that’s likely to be worldwide bar Asia. Katsugeki is the only known show out of the asterisks that isn’t a CR stream.

Funi’s opened up its services to my region (due to the CR x Funi merger), I could probably watch 18if there, but 1) I feel like Funi doesn’t have a good enough player, and 2) I feel like it’ll show up on a service that has a better player.

You’ll notice Nobunaga no Shinobi, a carryover from the last season I previously didn’t care for, is on the list. I was looking at YouTube videos of people’s favourite OPs and I fell in love with Shirayuki (by Renka, it’s the OP for the current season) recently, so I binged the existing content in one day. However, it being a short series means it’s not eligible for simulcast commentary and I’ll have to make a separate ranking for short series once I make my year-end rankings (to include ~ Ise to Kanegasaki-hen ~, and because watching Kenka Bancho Otome has screwed my rankings over enough as it is). After all, my 2016 ranking policy was “a show I saw at least once over in 2016 and had at least one seasonal entry in 2016″, which if applied to this year would make Nobunaga no Shinobi eligible, but it would be unfair to pit it against any shows with standard 24 min eps.
