Name: Rouka 楼花
{Play on Okura/Okra}
Gender: Female
Birth year: 739
Species: Saiya-Jin and Tsufuru-Jin hybrid
{75% SaiyaJin & 25% TsufuruJin}
Father: Renkon
Mother: Satsuma
Home world: Dojin
Alliance: Chaotic Neutral
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Status: Single {And staying as such}
Height: 165.1 cm {5'5"}
Weight: 54.31 kg {120 lbs}
Hair: Onyx, short & spiked
Eyes: a light azure
Distinguishing Features: Aside from the tail that most SaiyaJin descendants are born with, and her crystal blues, she has a rather defined scar across her right eye.
Tumblr media
Temperament: Rouka is an odd mix. Though she holds the typical traits one would expect of a SaiyaJin; proud, arrogant, moderately aggressive, short-tempered, strong willed and the love of a good fight; she also has the blood of a more docile and intellectual race coursing through her veins.
The TsufuruJin were a peaceful race, more rationally inclined than battle ready. Due to this contradictory disposition, Rouka herself is more calculated where her emotions are concerned. Though her darker impulses are bound to dominate her mind, she will tend to look into things more logically before simply reacting. Well, at least for the most part .. Occasionally, the more dominant attributes will prevail, depending on the situation at hand.
All in all, she is a rather feisty, yet sometimes devilishly spirited, persona. An amusing banter is always enjoyable, though she will typically assess her moves wisely.
Flaws/Disadvantages:
°There are certain advantages to being the hybrid she is, but the conflicting aspects of herself can occasionally clash. Rouka willingly embraces certain aspects of her SaiyaJin nature, especially since it's the predominant blood coursing through her veins. But, her more passive psyche does cause hesitation from time to time, especially regarding situations when she should be more ruthless.
°Though she is primarily logical and vigilant in most situations, she can have a fairly short fuse. Gruf, volitile, spiteful, hostile and abrasive; these are all characteristics of herself that she does her best to control. Of course, there are situations in which those traits of herself overcome her resolve.
°Rouka wears the tail SaiyaJin descendants are born with proudly, but it can be a hindrance at times. Not only due to the particular extremities sensitivity, but also the rare occasion in which a slip of emotional control is revealed by even the most miniscule of reactions of her tail. Though a small flicker or such may go unnoticed by most, a more competent observer could use the small inconsistencies to read through a facade.
Signature Techniques:
Tumblr media
Spiritual Armor
精神的な鎧
Seishin-tekina Yoroi
Quite like the techniques name, its entire purpose is to use a concentrated amount of ki to encase her form within a protective barrier, shielding herself from the threat.
Dynamic Burst
ダイナミックバースト
Dainamikkubāsuto
This miniscule orb of energy is more devastating than it seems at first glance. Upon condensing a great deal of energy into the tiny sphere, she will release it carefully towards the foe. Upon piercing, its design is to erruupt the full of its power within the physique. This is typically used for the intent of administering a massive amount of damage to any given area.
Power Siphon
パワーサイフォン
Pawāsaifon
A rather unique assault, this technique starts with what appears to be a rather simple orb of energy propelled towards her foe of choice. Though, instead of dealing damage in the typical manner, it latches itself onto the target of choice, disrupting and manipulating ones aura to ultimately leech and absorb. In doing so, as their life force begins to weaken, the original orb will effectively increase and grow in power until consuming its victim within the amplifled inferno of the combined ki.
Vortex Blitz
ボルテックスブリッツ
Borutekkusuburittsu
This ability begins with Rouka gathering a sufficient amount of ki above her, shifting its force cylendrically until it forms a rather intense maelstrom of energy. When she finds it to be a sufficient amount of force and power, she will launch it forth towards the object of choice, expectantly entangling them amidst the whirlwind of power. Intended to be both disorienting and agonizing while the swirling energy encompasses their being.
Plasma Storm
プラズマ嵐
Purazuma Arashi
Amassing her ki into a nebule of powerful energy, Rouka awaits this emanation to reach the proper intensity. This nimbus like collection of ki will begin to gradually dissipate into smaller waves of power, raining down in the vicinity of the desired recipient.
Dynamic Wave
ダイナミックな波
Dainamikkuna Nami
This collection of force is a stream of ki expelled towards a target (Much like that of say the Kamehameha or Galick Gun). The intensity of which is greatly decided on the amount of power she feels like pushing into it
Serpents Coil
蛇とぐろ
Hebi Toguro
This technique is one she can have some fun with if she so pleased. Simply put, tendrils of ki eminate from her palm towards the object of her choosing, encircling an area with precision and focus. Now the vigor behind the coils depends on her and the connection she retains to them.
Each serpent like cord of power is connected to an aura affixed to her for command. Whether she decides to retain control with a mere finger or two, her hand, or even tethered down the length of her arm; it all determines the strength of the bond, not to mention how much energy she sends pulsing through them.
In essence; the connection could feel as tender and docile as a piece of string, or as formidable as the strongest binding with a river of powerful current coursing through them.
Backstory:
Tumblr media
Before the start of the SaiyaJin and TsufuruJin civil war of 720 on Planet Plant (Known to most as Planet Vegeta by year 730), The TsufuruJin and SaiyaJin cohabitated their shared world civilly. Each species tended to stay within their own domains, almost dismissing the others presence all together if they could. But by chance, as can happen often with any civilization that live in fairly close proximity to one another, there were a small populace of the two very different beings that found the race more favorable than most. Comaraderies were formed, each group assisting the others in the areas they waned. Occasionally, even, a more passionate companionship arose, though fairly uncommon in the beginning.
By year 718, rumors had begun to arrise of a particular SaiyaJin rising amongst the ranks of the tribes. A primal and domineering man that was gaining favor amongst the tribes, all while professing his animosity towards the TsufuruJins and their claimed condescending and disdain towards the people that came to their planet all those years ago. Talk had started concerning an eventual battle, a chance for the SaiyaJin to overthrow those who who they were convinced found them inferior. Of course, some weary of annihilation and others determined to preserve their way of life, a plan to abscond their home for a place of their own to thrive was made.
The following year they were all gone, fairly unbeknownst to the planet they left behind. The peculiar group of allies settling on a world far from Plant and the destruction that would come. The new world was harsh and unforgiving at first. Each party offering their prowess to better the terrene. It wasn't long before they were able to thrive and grow as a new civilization on the world they would name Dojin.
Rouka was born on this world, her father a man of pure SaiyaJin descent and her mother a halfbreed between both lineage. It was a tranquil existence; her father training her in the ways of old, and her mother focusing her instructions on the enlightened ways of the TsufuruJins. She excelled in her training, eventually becoming one of the more revered combatants of the new generation. Little did she know everything she knew and adored would soon come to a close.
By the year 750, at the mere age of 11, Lord Kura's (Cooler's) forces stumbled upon Planet Dojin by chance. Intrigued by the mixture of intellect, brute strength and battle savy. Those deemed worthy in his mind were subjugated into his forces; primarily the more adept of the younger generation, precieving them to be the easiest to mold. Rouka was one of the few to be amassed, torn away from her kin amid annihilation and chaos. Like so many others, her parents rallied against the alien forces in vein. The young girls last memories of her parents while she struggled to abscond herself from the warriors clutches, their gruesome slaughter as they fought to protect her.
For years she begrudgingly did what she must to survive.. Endless training, conflicts, crusades; whatever skirmish Kura commanded her to conduct. If ever her emotions caused her to falter or rebel, she would be tortured into allegiant compliance. Until, that is, the year 765 when she heard of his supposed demise.
Finally able to escape her constraints, she ventured forth in search of a new chapter of her life. Her one irrefutable resolution; she must check out this Planet Earth, and the warriors who subdued her tyrannical captor

NSFW Meme; “No Gine, I am your daddy” Dragon Ball Series/Blazblue: Ragna lost a bet and had to say the infamous Star Wars quote in sexual fashion to Goku MILFy mom, Gine.
"Note to self," Ragna the Bloodedge muttered underneath his breath, his brows furrowed as he walked. "never make a bet with the Black Knight or a goddamn perverted hermit."
The Grim Reaper approached a black-haired woman in armor, who sported a halo above her head. This woman was known as Gine, who in life, worked as a cook on Planet Vegeta instead of being a marauding warrior. The Saiyaness was granted a one day pass to the land of the living, due to the fact that she didn't participate in any invasions or raids during her time alive. Ragna stops in his tracks, as the mother of Son Goku turns to the swordsman.
"Oh," she says with a polite smile on her face, "how can I help you, um, Ragna, was it?"
"No," he replies in a husky tone, which made him twitch for the moment. "I am your Daddy~."
Everyone gathered stare at Ragna in shock and awe, with the exception of Kagura and Roshi; the two chuckling. Gine stared at the man in red & black with widened eyes, as did her son and oldest grandson. Before he could clarify why he did this, Ragna found himself getting hit with a flying kick; curiosity of Chi-Chi.
"YOU LECHEROUS ROGUE!!" She hollered, "How dare you say such things to my mother-in-law!"
The Grim Reaper found himself on the ground, in a heap, obviously unprepared for such an attack. "I...I lost a bet," he replies with a pained groan.

Skye was living her best life, a saiyan who had achieved fame and fortune beyond her most wildest dreams, it was a far cry from living on Vampa and eating giant bugs. She felt like the world champ, she couldn't go anywhere without being swarmed by her adoring fans and the paparazzi.
Tumblr media
The young saiyaness wasn't clad in armor, but black leather covered her form, pants, red corset, leather jacket with spikes all over it and her favorite heels, black platform stellitos with red bottoms. Her black tail was securely around her waist, she remembered being scolded for letting it go freely when she was a child and a gaudy but necessary gold choker with a green stone adorned her neck, it prevented her from going completely mad.
Tumblr media
"Hm, another saiyan nearby..." she mused to herself, she had done a fairly good job at avoiding the others, but she didn't want to be given the 3rd degree and pushed into battle. At the same time she didn’t want to run and hide, it was so tedious and she wanted to enjoy her afternoon.

More Human!Frieza
Tumblr media
I like drawing my Genshin AU Frieza. A lot. I just wanna draw him lookin pretty-
I also have lore to mix in with the art! First, some general information on him.
Frieza has a Cryo Vision and Electro Delusion, and his weapon of choice is a catalyst. He is the cruel ruler of a new empire in Teyvat, whose goal is simply to expand his territory and rule over as many people as he can. He’s undoubtedly the strongest person in his empire, able to create ice that no torch can melt and pierce the heavens with lightning. Wounds that should be fatal leave only faint scars on him. He can withstand freezing temperatures that no normal human should be able to.
Arcoson is a small nation bordering Snezhnaya, right on the cusp of its unbearably frigid climate. Its predominant element is Cryo. It is ruled by the tyrannical Emperor Frieza. They are quite technologically advanced, and most of the nation’s people live in urban cities. Few venture out into the frozen wastelands or deadly mountains. The Cold family’s estate lies in the middle of Arcoson’s mountain range, where it’s protected from all sides. The empire secretly has ties to the Fatui, acquiring weaponry and Delusions from them, though the extent of their relationship is unknown.
Tumblr media
He has a parasol bc it feels fancy. It also functions as a Cryo shield, so it can protect him from wind, the sun, AND attacks. The shield only becomes visible when struck, and the parasol has to be open.
And here’s a beat up Frieza with no makeup on-
Tumblr media
Lastly, history time! The region the Saiyan and Namekian characters are from is called Saiya (specifically Namekan Village for the Namekians). King Cold had wanted to conquer it ever since he came into power. When his son took the throne, he successfully annexed a chunk of their land, killing their leader, King Vegeta, in the process. He thought their defenses would weaken without their king, but the head of Namekan Village, Grand Elder Guru, stepped in as their leader. Next, Frieza attacked Namekan Village. He almost destroyed the entire city, but was stopped by Goku, the strongest fighter in all of Saiya. Frieza came up with a new plan with the help of his father. He had a suit of armor made for him that was supposed to be so strong that no blade could pierce it, but it wasn’t enough. Trunks, a warrior from the future, killed King Cold and nearly killed Frieza. After that battle, the attacks became much smaller and less frequent, though the tyrant isn’t done trying.

DBZ The Legendary Super Saiyan Reaction
Again, let me just say, I wrote these reactions a year ago. If you like them, maybe give me a follow, so you don't miss out when I write some new material. (I still need to watch DBS : Super Hero)
_ *_ _ _ *_ _ _*_
Tumblr media
[Funnily enough, this is the original Japanese poster. I doesn't give you any to do with the plot. Also, the original title is: "Dragon Ball Z: Burn Up!! A Red-Hot, Raging, Super-Fierce Fight." Again, the title gives you nothing to go on. Even the spanish title is a little bit of intrigue, know as "The Invincible Power" (El Poder Invencible)]
What is there to say about Broly? After the really unremarkable Super 13, we get one of the most popular movies ever. I mean, the difference is night and day. In the last movie, the villain takes on his final form 25 minutes into the film. It takes 25 minutes into this movie for Broly to make his first move. Also, this is one of the longer movies at 72 minutes.
They do a lot with those first 25 minutes, taking the time to set up the deception, as well as Paragus/ Broli’s motivation.
Broly talks a bit more than I remember. It’s not that he’s just a Saiyan fighting machine, he takes sociopathic glee in hurting people. Like, he’s constantly looking to kill Gohan. And then, he also blows up the planet of those little aliens they had enslaved. Since he was born with such a high power level, he was basically invulnerable, which lead to the sociopathic tendencies, that coupled with the ‘saiya-jin bloodlust” plus I think his own powers both hurting/ healing his body, which fuels his strength like a perpetual energy machine.
And that’s the difference between this Broly, and Kale/ New Broly. They’re not psycho.
Tumblr media
[Whoever said turning big and beefy made you slower and a bigger target didn't know what the f**k they were talking about.]
It should also be noted that Broly is the only DBZ movie villain that is basically a human, everyone else is a demon or another type of alien, which might also contribute to Broly’s popularity. (Oh, yeah, Turles, he’s so forgettable, lol)
Funny that Broly is so powerful that he makes Vegeta’s brain crash. In the face of The Legendary SSJ, the "Prince of all the Saiyans" doesn’t do anything until 55 minutes in, and he lasts less than 5 minutes.
Tumblr media
[When they first meet, Vegeta automatically takes to giving Broly order. I'd guess that what Broly is wearing might be Saiyan "slave armor." Paragus built a castle, and dressed Broly up like a servant to lure Vegeta to his death. You can almost sympathize with Paragus. Broly was a psychopath growing up, that inevitably made their lives more difficult. Broly gauged out his father's eye without remorse. Putting the "control crown" on him could be for his own good.]
As I’ve pointed out, they did know how to keep the power creep going. Last movie we had 3 SSJs, this time it takes 4 SSJs to finish the fight. Also, they knew Broly needed the deck stacked against him, not only did Goku have to take energy from his friends, he ended up opening up the old knife wound that Broly had from when he was a baby, on top of having a comet destroy the planet they were on. It wasn’t really a win for Goku, as much as a tactical retreat.
10/10 – I really couldn’t find any faults in it.

SUBJECT MATTER: Old (Unprompted) Meme-Move From Old Blog // sender: @peoplcshope.
Tumblr media
SHE ALERTED HER SLAVES ABOUT AN EXTENDED ABSENCE. She wasn't sure how long the trip would take, but she estimated the timeframe to be within a couple of hours or days. Regardless, they were to run themselves as if she was still present--in other words, they had to pretend to be self-governing. She left instructions for them written in Ancient Saiya and a translation besides it (using the Modern variant), since most of the enslaved Races lacked the throat power and necessary internal makeup to make the same guttural sounds as she. Maiz made it abundantly clear that they were to report anything unsavory to her immediately.
She could (theoretically) replace Trunks, but not her kingdom.
----
WHEN SHE FIRST SHOWED VULNERABILITY, IT WAS AGAINST HER WILL. The nightmare of the Genocide haunted her dreams; screams and shrill alarms mixed together and deafened her child-like ears, thick tears, and the raging fire within tight, narrow hallways bathed in a dangerous red light effectively made her blinder than she already was. It usually ended the same way; Karne scooped her up with her tail and blitzed through the haze of death and carnage, then bumped Maiz up in her arms when the coast was clear enough. Maiz was shoved into an escape pod with hushed promises of being brought back when everything blew over, but she didn't care about that. She banged on the alien glass (of which was red too)--crying, screaming, pleading to fight with her, to know what was going on, why everyone was suddenly dying.
Sometimes the night terrors were crueler, and she perished along with them, her corpse reduced to ash in the hallways alongside the colleagues she used to know. She would perish on Planet Vegeta instead of in the atmosphere of Planet Kokytus.
Trunks had the displeasure of witnessing her cry during the first scenario, in her sleep.
----
SOMETIMES, SHE REGRETTED TELLING HIM ANYTHING. He was determined to show her 'she wasn't alone' in regards to tragedy and loss. It truthfully annoyed her that he committed her tear-streaked face and closely guarded hardships to memory; talking about her feelings didn't come natural to her. She had no equals--no peers. Merely associates she kept close to her chest (not everything was something to be shared with the time-traveler). None of them knew half of what she willfully divulged to him--not the aliens who did her hair and nails, not the tailor who customized her armors, nor any of the owners of the shopping strips she frequented who knew her by name and supplied her with the fabrics she used to design her bodysuits. Many of her slaves didn't even know why they were subjugated, either.
Outside of him, she wasn't known to be a person. She was an oppressive force of nature. She existed for a reason--otherwise, why would she still be alive? Why would she, out of everyone else, survive? She chose her purpose: to kill and destroy and enjoy it. She was a predator. A ruthless opportunist. A mass murderer and slave-owner. A ravager of worlds and crusher of dreams and hopes. Hells, at one point, she wanted to crush Trunks' own. She still carried those sadistic desires, but in a different manner with the passing days.
The device he made specifically for her--the holorogorus-disruptor, which hid her presence from other demons and Time Patrollers--on her left wrist itched, but she ignored it. Instead, Maiz listened to him go on and on about his world and what it meant to him. Talking about herself still felt foreign and out of place, so she made sure to ask pointed and highly detailed questions to keep the topic on him and off of her. Traveling to a different Earth wasn't what she expected either. The climate was the same but different--this sun felt a little hotter, the gravity somewhat weaker. Perhaps that's why her ruddy-complexion darkened progressively as he was kind enough to give her a tour of the places most precious to him . . . ?
Tumblr media
The texture of her hair changed as the tour went on--her spikes fell towards her face and the waves seemingly shrunk. It wasn't exactly fair to say her iconic crown of bright red became straight, but it was close. She noticed the changes too late; one third of her energy was spent keeping stock of what Trunks told her, the second third was focused on memorizing the route they took just in case anything happened. Not that they'd be lost (because he knew the way), but because depending on another person outside of herself was a steep learning curve and she was abysmally failing at it. The final third of her energy was spent watching his reactions, studying his social cues (many of her relationships up until this point were either impersonal or strictly professional), and waiting for more appropriate opportunities to ask questions to keep him talking. It was when they reached the underground lab that he was seized by memories.
Silence fell when his gaze caught upon a pictured frame sitting upon a desk next to a dimly lit computer; a blue-haired, bright-eyed Bulma wrapped in what could only be called a warm embrace by two older people with vastly different hair colors, textures and clothes. She assumed this was Bulma's origin--Trunks' human grandparents. Suddenly, his purple hair made sense. (She's seen Saiyans with his shade of blue eyes before but haven't found a way to tell him yet; mostly because she didn't want to sound like she'd been staring at him too hard . . .). Maiz heard him mention the roof but she was much too taken with the genetic diversity displayed with the Brief Family genes. It all reminded her of home, eerily so. Contrary to belief, the Saiyans weren't all black haired and dark eyed. It was a misconception, a rumor started by Frieza to make them sound like an incestuous lot. Unappealing. To lower their market value overall, to make the Saiyans easier to control and eventually dispose of.
SHE TOOK A COUPLE OF STEPS BACK, UNNERVED BY A QUEASY FEELING IN HER STOMACH.
Her dead face briefly took on an expression of pain (furrowed brows, a frown, scrunched up features) before it went away. It was quick--a blink-and-you'll-miss-it event. Finally, she was able to look away and focus on other things. She looked at Trunks first, around, then up (there was exposed wiring on the walls, the plaster was chipped, the dome was indeed un-roofed, scorch marks trailed from where the roof would've began pointed at what the cause was, etc). She did this until her heart rate slowed, until her thoughts were no longer disarrayed, until her instincts no longer screamed to destroy the remnants of whatever he could call a home. She had to remind himself he wasn't mocking her, nor was he rubbing his life experiences in her face; he was showing her shared pain.
With a small sigh and slow sway of her tail, she asked, ". . .what else is here?" The quality of tone was detached, distant. Neutral, safe and boring. Not monotone--but as if she was disinterested with it all. Alas, this was simply how she sounded for the moment. Socialization in this manner was not her strong suit.
Neither was showing genuine concern.

Where it all began . . .
Medium: Prismacolor pencils and markers, Copic Markers, Faber ink pens, Sakura gel pens. The final of six pieces I drew for my website's 10th anniversary. Here we have the original version of my web persona.
“As I mentioned in my pic of the Original Murasaki Rose, I used to go by a different name: Jianu. Jianu is the proper Japanese pronunciation of my name Jeanne (the 'ne' is silent). Falling to the excuse, "It seemed like a good idea at the time" I gave one of my OC characters the same name.  A classic and slightly fatal mistake of many newbie authors and artists. Getting sick of explaining that, " No, I was not the same person as the character in my stories." and bored with my style, I re-invented my web persona's design and took on the name Murasaki Rose.”

“ I never actually drew myself as Jianu in saiya-jin armor before. As Murasaki Rose I drew it once per request so I took that basic design and improved upon it.”

New Story! "Fiery Elixir"
Bulma and Vegeta may have lived together, but it was the last thing from harmony. When her soul calls to him in a helpless cry, he has no choice but to answer it.
Art + Collaboration with @alphashewolf90
Tumblr media
He wanted to deepen their connection, somehow. Perhaps a kiss was the answer, like she had suggested.
She stared up at him and slowly placed her hands on his chest. It was warm, strong, and solid. She could feel the skin underneath her fingertips practically vibrating. It was so hot that she thought she should draw back but couldn't, instead she gripped tighter. Bulma's mind raced with an answer to his, one she didn't dare speak aloud for fear he would simply laugh at her. Souls that call to each other, to me that sounds like soul mates . But that's not real, is it? And if so… then, what do our souls want? Do they want to… come together?

Tumblr media
[24 December, Age 762.   Planet Namek.]
The mission was simple enough on paper.    The demon Towa had traveled through time and used her magic influence on various fighters throughout history, in order to gather energy from their battles.   This time, the villainous Frieza had been enchanted, making him stronger and more belligerent.  Luffa's job was to join the small band of fighters on Planet Namek who had fought Frieza on that day.    It was up to her to make sure that the enemy’s intervention would not alter the outcome of the fight.
In practice, the mission had become a debacle.   Once, long ago, Luffa had been the Legendary Super Saiyan, capable of destroying a menace like Frieza with ease.   But now, her powers had been drastically reduced under mysterious circumstances.   Luffa had gambled on the faint hope that her body was recovering from this.   Each mission she performed for the Time Patrol seemed to restore a portion of her former strength.   At times, it seemed like every punch and kick she took from an enemy would bring her a step closer to where she needed to be.    She had expected this curious phenomenon to carry her past the finish line against Frieza in the same way.
But this time, it wasn't working.   Frieza nearly defeated Luffa with a single blow, and even though the young Namekian Dende had healed her, even though she did see an increase in power, it wasn't nearly enough for her to keep up with this battle.   The one saving grace was that another Namekian, one Dende called "Nail," had arrived to join the fight.    But Luffa knew this wouldn't be enough.
As she approached the site of the battle, she caught sight of Nail and recognized him as Piccolo, the Namekian she had seen on her first Time Patrol mission.    Piccolo had died in battle on her second mission, and the Earthling's expedition to Namek was intended to wish him back to life, among others.   Luffa wasn't sure if this was Piccolo resurrected, or if Nail was actually someone else who happened to look and dress the same way.  In either case, she had no idea how any Namekian had managed to get so powerful in such a short time.   It would have been reassuring, except Frieza was in the middle of transforming himself into an even more powerful form, one that would surely be too much for any of them to handle.
In the original course of events, the day was won, however improbably.   But the dark purple aura that swirled around Frieza was a sign that things would not go the way they should.    It was Luffa's job to force destiny back into frame.   Everything ultimately depended upon her, and she was no longer sure that her power would be enough.
But it would have to be.   Luffa had contacted the Time Vault for extraction, only to find that it couldn't be done.   "Chronal interference" was the term used by the Supreme Kai of Time in her last transmission.   The rest of her message was garbled, but Luffa got the general idea, someone had trapped Luffa on Namek, and Luffa had a fair idea who was responsible.
"Towa..." she muttered under her breath.    Luffa had brazenly challenged the demon on the last mission, and fought her creation, Mira, to a standstill.   Towa had elected to withdraw, which seemed like a moral victory at the time, but now it was clear what Towa had in mind.   Having taken Luffa's measure, Towa had lured Luffa into a no-win scenario.   Sooner or later, Chronoa would find a way to retrieve Luffa from the past, but Towa was counting on Frieza to kill Luffa long before that happened.
Or, perhaps,  Luffa considered, Towa wasn't expecting Luffa to die here.   Maybe this was just a receipt for interfering in Towa's business, or a test to further gauge Luffa's abilities.    If that was the best-case scenario, things were truly grim indeed.
Concerning Frieza himself, his third form looked positively revolting.   The first transformation simply made him bigger and taller, but this one hunched his posture, and expanded the white carapace that surrounded his chest, shoulders and cranium.    The growths on his shoulders now resembled enormous pauldrons, similar to the armored uniforms worn by his henchmen.   Spiky protrusions jutted out from his back.    His head had expanded to an oblong shape, with horns jutting out from the sides.  His face was distorted to the point where his nose was completely gone, and his mouth now resembled the muzzle of a reptilian animal.   Part of his tail was missing, and Luffa could only guess that this had been damaged during the fight while Luffa had been hurt.    Judging by Frieza's smug expression, he didn't seem to think the injury affected his chances.
Frieza renewed his attack on Piccolo, who wisely kept his distance.   He had done well against Frieza's second form, but the third was simply too powerful to attack head-on.   Luffa chased after them, though she quickly found that she wasn't able to keep up.    Piccolo was moving at top speed, and she reasoned that this was his final card to play.    She didn't know how he had increased his power so dramatically, but Frieza had neutralized any strength advantage he once had.    All Piccolo could do now was to hope he had a speed advantage.
He did not.   Frieza intercepted him no matter which way Piccolo turned.   With no other option, Piccolo tried to attack, and Frieza dodged his punch with ease, then began battering the Namekian at will.   Then, Frieza fired a ki blast from his fingertip into Piccolo's knee.    The blast didn't leave much of a wound, and from the ki she sensed, Luffa reasoned that it was intended to inflict pain more than injury.
Then he fired another blast from his other hand.    And another.    And another, until he was bombarding Piccolo's entire body with ki blasts.   Piccolo was helpless against this assault, as he lacked the speed to even attempt to dodge.   He simply flailed in midair, like a flag being buffeted by heavy rainfall.
Luffa knew she had to step in.    Currently, Piccolo was the strongest one on their side, and no one else could help him.    The problem was that she lacked the power to do any good.   She decided the best bet would be to approach Frieza from behind and force him to turn away from Piccolo to deal with her, but as she got closer, she realized that he hadn't noticed her at all.
This had been a recurring theme with her previous Time Patrol missions.    The Saiyans she had fought on Earth had been unable to sense ki, and while Vegeta seemed to acquire this skill by the time he reached Namek, none of the Ginyu Force had it, and now it seemed that Frieza had the same weakness.    It was a reminder that, for all his power, Frieza lacked any genuine talent for martial arts.    All of Frieza's precise movements and uncanny reflexes were simply a function of his incredible speed and strength.
It suddenly occurred to her that this was probably why Piccolo and the others had lasted this long in the first place.    Frieza was a spiteful sadist, and was happy to drag out a fight to prolong his enemies' suffering, but he probably also had trouble gauging how hard to hit a powerful opponent without killing them immediately.   It also explained how he lost the end of his tail.    Someone must have managed to sneak up on him and get off a lucky shot.
She imagined that it must have been a razor-thin application of ki energy, since this would produce intense damage over a narrow range.   She looked at her own hand and began to concentrate her own power to try to replicate that idea.   But as she prepared to strike, Gohan suddenly broke away from the others and flew towards Frieza.
It was remarkable how much energy Gohan was putting out.    Luffa wasn't sure what to make of the boy, but her main observation was that he was too inexperienced to use his power to its fullest.   As he charged after Frieza, he let out a defiant battle cry, which alerted Frieza to his approach.   Frieza turned to see the boy, then, after firing one more shot to dispatch Piccolo, flew higher into the air to avoid Gohan's kick.
Undeterred, Gohan turned around and flew at Frieza again.    Only this time, he flew past Frieza instead of barreling right into him.    Luffa couldn't help but smile.   The boy lacked experience, but he was sharp enough to learn quickly.    Frieza was too fast for a direct assault, but confusing him would slow him down just enough to make things easier.   And as Frieza turned to await Gohan's next move, Luffa took the opportunity to make her next move.
Maneuvering to Frieza's blind spot, Luffa drove her fingers into Frieza's back and dug as hard as she could into his flesh.   He cried out and swatted her away with his tail, but she was prepared for this and wrapped her legs around the base of his tail, and grabbed one of the bony protrusions on his back.   In this way, she could cling to Frieza's backside and he wouldn't be able to reach her.    With her free hand, she slashed at any exposed skin she could find.
The tips of her fingers glowed with five tiny blades of ki.   She doubted that she could do any serious damage, but it would be enough to buy the others time.    And, with any luck, she could hurt him enough to neutralize the effects of Towa's magic.
"You should have stayed the way you were, Frieza!" Luffa growled as she struggled to stay on his back.    "Your other forms were smaller, and I never could have hung on like this.   But now, your upper body's so big and bulky that I could stay here for days!"
His tail whipped around her head, and she finally started slashing her hand at it to keep it at bay.    Frieza reached for her with his hands, but it was useless.
"Get off me you, damn dirty Saiyan!" Frieza screamed.
"That's just what your father said!" Luffa lied.   "Right before I killed him!"
She knew her attack wouldn't work for much longer, so it was important for her to push ahead with her earlier plan.    Towa's magic had made Frieza so aggressive that there was a danger that he might kill the others too quickly, and alter the course of history.    Luffa had gotten him to slow down by inventing a tale of secret conspirators and assassins dedicated to dismantling his empire.    By arousing his curiosity, she hoped to keep his mind off of destroying Namek with a single stroke.   So far, it had worked, but she wanted to keep up the pressure.
"You're dead, you hear me?" Luffa shouted.    "Even if you survive, your life won't be worth a hill of beans.    And the best part of it is that if you knew who I was working for, you'd know just how doomed you really are!"
At last Frieza managed to shake Luffa off his back.   It was only a glancing blow from his tail, but it was enough to knock her senseless and send her tumbling to the ground below.    But Luffa was satisfied with her efforts, and she managed to stay conscious this time, which let her see what happened next.    As Frieza turned his attention to Gohan, he found the boy high above, readying an enormous ki blast.
Luffa hit the ground with a loud thud, and while she couldn't get up very quickly, she didn't feel too badly hurt.    As she rose to one knee, she saw Frieza brazenly charge into Gohan's attack, only to find that it wasn't as easy to power through as he had expected.    And then, impossibly, Gohan began to drive him back.
It was an awe-inspiring sight.    Luffa's thoughts raced back to her first Time Patrol mission, when she first saw Gohan display a similar radical increase in power.   He seemed to do this whenever he was especially upset, but he could never maintain the power boost for very long.    But this time he was operating at a much higher level, greater than any normal Saiyan she had ever seen, and now he was doing it for the second time in the same battle!
As Frieza struggled to hold back Gohan's ki, he looked like an oversized tick clinging to a giant light bulb.    And Gohan responded to Frieza's resistance by turning up the pressure.    He was actually getting even stronger, and Luffa was forced to revise her estimation of the boy.    He was not only stronger than any normal Saiyans she had known, but he was also beginning to surpass some of the ones who had enhanced themselves through artificial means.   What was his secret?
She suddenly remembered the others, and looked around to find Krillin and Vegeta hovering nearby.   Luffa was reminded of Krillin's earlier heroism, selflessly sacrificing himself to save the Namekian child, Dende.   Frieza had run him through with his horn, and Krillin still struggled to put up a fight, even past the point of certain death.    He was an Earthling, like Gohan's mother.    Was there a connection?
Gathering her strength, Luffa flew over to join them, anxious to prepare a new offensive.
"We can blindside him!" Luffa said.    "If Piccolo or Gohan can hold his attention for a second, the three of us might be able to--!"
"It won't work!" Vegeta snapped.   "Frieza's too strong for that.    That's why I need one of you to attack me!"
"Attack you?" Luffa asked.   "What the hell are you talking about?"
"He wants me to hurt him so badly that he almost dies!" Krillin explained.   From the look on his face, it was plain that he wanted no part of the idea, but he continued to explain further.   "Then he expects Dende down there to heal him, and then...!"
"And then," Vegeta said, "My power will increase dramatically.   You're a Saiyan yourself.   Surely you're familiar with the concept."
"The zenkai?" Luffa said with a gasp.   "That's your plan?!   It doesn't work when you injure yourself!"
"You think I don't already know that?" Vegeta seethed as he pointed to Krillin. "That's why I need Baldy here to help me!   He's weaker than me, but if I lower my guard, he should be able to deliver a critical wound."
"I already told him it was nuts!" Krillin said.    "If I'm not careful, I might kill him, and then where would we be?!"
"It's the only way!" Vegeta insisted.   "I'm so close, and once that brat heals me, I can finally become a Super Saiyan, and destroy Frieza in an instant!"
Luffa was horrified.    Despite the danger posed by Frieza, It was Vegeta's words that made a chill run down her spine.   "A Super--?!    You think that would make you...?" she asked, unable to finish the question.  "Vegeta, listen to me!  It doesn't work that way!"
"And what would you know about it, woman?" Vegeta scoffed.
Her eyes went wide as she grabbed him by the shoulders.    "You fool!" she screamed.   "You can't turn into a Super Saiyan just by raising your power level!   If it was that easy, every Saiyan would do it!    And besides, the zenkai is a reward for valor on the battlefield!    You're talking about mutilating yourself to exploit it like some... like some faulty line of computer programming!"
Vegeta shook loose from her grip and made a contemptuous snort.    "Hmmph!   Exactly the sort of defeatist gibber I'd expect from a low class warrior.    Know this, woman: I am on the cusp of becoming a Super Saiyan, and I would brave hell itself to achieve it.   If it doesn't work on the first try, then I'll just have Baldy hit me again until it does.   If that bothers you so much, then I suggest you look away."
The determined smile on his face shook Luffa to the core.  She wanted to scream at him, to tell him this wasn't worth it, and that it would never work.    And then, she had to wonder.   What if it could work?
One thousand years ago, Luffa's powers had begun to increase, only for her father to betray her to the insectoid hordes of the Tikosi.   They had struck a bargain with her father.   He would give them Luffa as a subject for their experiments, and in return they would share the fruits of their research with him.
For months, they tortured her to the brink of death, always healing her injuries before she could actually die.   There had been no glorious battlefields to provide the wounds, but the zenkai effect worked all the same.    And the Tikosi studied this, and reverse-engineered it.    Luffa had grown stronger during that ordeal, but she was kept drugged and restrained so that she could never turn that strength upon her captors.   And so it had gone, until at last, on one fateful day...
And now, a millennium later, Vegeta had stumbled upon the same idea.     What the Tikosi had done accidentally, he was trying to achieve deliberately.    He was willing to stoop to anything, even risking his own life, to attain the power to destroy his enemy.
Luffa didn't know whether to admire the man or pity him.   At least she was able to avenge herself against the Tikosi, but Vegeta could have no such satisfaction.
He was his own tormentor.
Nappa was right, it seemed.   It was fitting that the Prince was named for their planet, but not in the way Nappa thought.  Both were doomed.
Suddenly, Gohan's attack on Frieza had failed.   Luffa had expected something like this to happen.   As incredible as Gohan's rally had been, she figured it was only a momentary respite at best.    She sensed his power being driven back, and turned to find Frieza had shoved the ki blast back on Gohan.    It was then deflected again, as Piccolo drove it off course, and safely away from the boy.   Instead, the enormous globe of power soared higher into the air, before finally exploding.    Frieza stood still for a moment, glaring at Gohan, as though contemplating what had just happened.
"That's it!  Vegeta shouted at Krillin.   "The kid's had it!   That attack was impressive, but he won't have any power left after a stunt like that!  If I'm going to defeat him, I need to become a Super Saiyan right now!"
"But... I can't just--"
Luffa ignored them and focused on Frieza.   He would probably attack Gohan again to pay him back, then go after Piccolo to pick up where he had left off.   In the meantime, Luffa would need to come up with another hit-and-run offensive, only this time, she knew Frieza would be on-guard for such a thing.  She considered targeting his eyes.   Without any ki senses, he relied heavily on sight and sound, but it was a small target, and she would have to come straight at him to hit it.   Then again, she thought, he wouldn't be expecting something so audacious, and it would make things much easier going forward.
"Pardon me."
A bead of sweat rolled down Luffa's face.   She had hoped that Frieza would take a moment to fight Piccolo and Gohan, but instead he turned his attention to the rest of them.    Suddenly, it didn't seem to matter what plans she and Vegeta had in mind.   They wouldn't get a spare moment to execute them.
"I do hate to interrupt such a spirited conversation," Frieza continued, "but I am running on a bit of a tight schedule.   So, to be fair, I'll let you decide which one of you gets to be my next victim.   Feel free to take a vote, or draw straws, or one of you can think of a number and the one with the closest guess can do the honors.   It's entirely up to you.    But while the rest of you sort that matter out..."
Faster than Luffa could react, Frieza left the ground and suddenly appeared right in front of her.   She managed to raise her arms but not high enough or fast enough to stop Frieza from grabbing her by the throat.
"... I need a moment alone with your charming friend."
The others were too stunned to intervene, both by Frieza's quick recovery, and the fact that he was completely unharmed by Gohan's efforts.    Frieza threw Luffa into the distance, and then flew after her, catching her before she could crash into the ground.    This was no act of mercy, as Frieza then drove her face-first into the dirt, with far more punishing force than the throw.
"You're different from the others," Frieza said.   "They're all appropriately terrified, but you seem to want my attention for some reason.   Well, you'll be delighted to know that you finally have it.   I wanted to ask you a question.   I do hope you'll be kind enough to answer it for me.   It would be a shame if our first encounter should end in a disagreement."
Luffa tried to spit in his face, but Frieza planted his foot on her head before she could manage it.    "It's about that boy.   You see, I finally realized that he must be a Saiyan, like you and Vegeta."
Luffa grabbed at Frieza's leg.   Against a different foe, she might have transitioned into an ankle lock, or some other hold.    She knew this was unlikely at best, but still held out some faint hope.   Frieza crushed that hope by applying more force, driving her head into the earth below.
"I destroyed Planet Vegeta decades ago," Frieza explained.    "I thought I had wiped out all of the Saiyans, except for Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz.  There might be a few others I missed, but hardly worth mentioning.    Those infiltration babies probably grew up not even knowing what a Saiyan is, and even if they ever learned, they have no homeworld to reconnect with."
Luffa released Frieza's leg and tried to shoot a ki blast at him, but he reached down and grabbed her arm to spoil her shot.    He did not let go.
"But now I find a Saiyan child working alongside Vegeta, of all people.   And more, the boy is far stronger than any Saiyan I've ever met, including the dear Prince himself.    I must admit, it's made me a bit curious.    And here you are, a Saiyan woman, threatening me with all sorts of tall tales and revenge fantasies."
He pulled on her arm, and Luffa began to wonder if he was going to rip it off of her shoulder.
"I despise legends, you see.   As you might have noticed, I have a reputation for being the most powerful being in the universe.   It's the truth.  A cold, hard, irrefutable fact, my dear.   My reputation precedes me, but it's only because it's simple reality, like the speed of light in a vacuum, or the half-life of astatine.   But some people can't handle the truth, and when they can't find a way around it, they retreat into fantasy.    They look for legends to give them false hopes.    Look at Vegeta.   I was so kind to him, and yet he threw away a promising career as my underling, all to chase after the Dragon Balls for a chance at immortality.    And then, as soon as the Dragon Balls were lost, he starts nattering on about this Super Saiyan."
Luffa had been trying not to scream, but that was before Frieza had dislocated her shoulder.    He heard the muffled cries from beneath his foot, and smiled warmly.    "Ah, then you can still speak.   I was beginning to think you had lost your voice somewhere along the way."
He removed his foot and lifted her up by her arm, letting her dangle at just the right height so he could speak with her face to face.
"I think the boy might be Raditz' son," Frieza said.   "Ironic, since Raditz himself was so pathetic, even by Saiyan standards, but there are only so many candidates, and I just can't see any resemblance to Nappa or Vegeta.   Then again, you Saiyans have always been so fixated on bloodlines.    Pairing off in some futile attempt to breed a better warrior.   It all seemed rather pointless to me.    But maybe Raditz finally hit paydirt.    I wonder who the boy's mother could be.    You, perhaps?"
He slammed Luffa into the ground before she could respond.   This time he planted his foot on her back.
"I had kept a few Saiyans alive for my own personal use," Frieza said.   "And I made sure not to leave any females alive, but you and the boy have shown me that I missed a few.   Perhaps I might have tolerated this, except the boy shows exceptional strength.   Who can say?    Within a few generations, a genuine threat might arise, purely by chance.   Is that the truth behind the Super Saiyan legend?   Maybe once every few centuries one of you filthy monkeys manages to win the genetic lottery?    Was King Vegeta trying to rig the game by mating all of his 'elite' warriors with each other?    Why, it's positively revolting.   Just the thought of it reminds me of why I segregate my crews by gender.   It's not an ideal solution, but it cuts down on the fraternization, at least.
"Oh wait!  What was I thinking!   I no longer have any ships left, nor the crews to maintain them, because you destroyed them all, didn't you?   That's what you told me before, wasn't it?   You and some elaborate band of conspirators.   Such a fanciful story.    And I could almost believe it.   The Dragon Balls seemed like a fairy tale, but they turned out to be real enough.   This is why I despise legends.   Once in a great while, one of them happens to have a hint of truth to it, and it requires me to investigate.    I find it easier to destroy the storytellers.   For example, I planned to annihilate Planet Namek whether the Dragon Balls were real or not.   Immortality would have been nice, but the important thing is to make certain that no one else is lulled into thinking they can have it.
"As for the Super Saiyan, I give that tale no credence at all.   But it has led so many into ruin.   Look no further than poor Vegeta, desperately awaiting a hero that will never arrive.   My father believed you Saiyans were the perfect slave species.    All you ever do is fight, and he believed he could control you forever, but I knew better.   Your own dreams conspire against you, tempting you to rise above your station.   And now, I finally see that even a handful of Saiyans is too many.   I must eradicate every trace of your misbegotten bloodline.   So I shall ask again: Are you the boy's mother?   I don't really need to know, but it would make it more enjoyable when I kill you in front of him."
Luffa was not Gohan's mother, but the very suggestion brought back painful memories of her own son, and the tragic ruin of his short life.    Ignoring the time travel, the strange things King Rehval did to accelerate his growth, her son would have been roughly Gohan's age.    Her entire body suddenly erupted with power, enough to knock even Frieza off his footing.
And then, just as she had planned before, Luffa went straight for his eyes.
If her fingers couldn't reach him, her own eyes would unleash a powerful ki blast into his, and she longed to hear his agonized screams.    But it was not to be.
Once again, Frieza was too fast for her, and he swatted her aside like a bug.
"I expected as much," Frieza said after clicking his tongue.   "You won't even answer a simple question.   There really is no reasoning with you Saiyans.   You're a blight on creation.    Perhaps it's time I stopped indulging myself by prolonging your agony.   Feast your eyes then, on my true self.   My final form!"
He stooped down and lowered his head, and Luffa could sense his power increasing.   It felt as though some other creature was struggling to escape, and the gutteral sounds coming from Frieza's throat only made the process even more grotesque.   The power he was generating was strong enough that Luffa would have backed away to a safe distance, but it was all she could do to roll onto her back and scoot a few meters away.
The ground beneath Frieza began to tremble, and streams of sand and silt erupted through small fissures in the topsoil.   Occasionally, he would pause and look at his hands, then laugh with a triumphant satisfaction.  Mostly, he just screamed, and his skin began to pulse with a crimson glow.
As Luffa watched, she could only wonder if this meant she had failed the mission.   Her job was to prevent Frieza from using his final form right off the bat.   She had delayed him, but she had no way of knowing if she had kept him occupied long enough.   Desperate for answers, she cast about with her ki senses, searching for the others.   A faint energy signature in the distance was the Saiyan Goku, who was recovering in Frieza's ship.    Piccolo's ki was also weak, but it steadily rose, as she could sense Dende healing him, just as he had healed the others before.   Gohan and Krillin were there, but she couldn't pick up Vegeta...
And then she finally found him.    His power level was so low that she had nearly missed it entirely.    It didn't take her long to guess how that had happened.    One way or another, he had convinced Krillin to help him.   The question was: Would his plan work?   Even if he could recover from his wounds, would it be enough to make a difference?   Was this how history was supposed to play out?
Watching Frieza, it certainly didn't feel like things were going well.   As he continued to laugh, every surface on his body began to crack and blister.   With a brutish smile, he raised up his hands and cried out one more time, and then his body seemed to shatter apart to reveal the true Frieza underneath.  Luffa covered her face with her good arm, and the world around her went bright white.   Then she found herself surrounded by a cloud of dust.    She could sense Frieza standing still in the center of it all, but he seemed to be waiting for the air to clear before taking any action.   Luffa used the momentary respite to shove her dislocated shoulder back into place.   Despite the pain, she kept her eyes trained on Frieza's position.
She had seen this version of Frieza before, when viewing the altered history of this battle.   Unlike the previous forms, this Frieza had a sleek, muscular body that reminded Luffa of a dancer she had seen in a performance on Carber IX.   Gone were the ribbed sections of pink skin and bony carapaces.   In their place was a form of chalky white with purple sections on his shoulders, chest, head and shins.  He looked a great deal like Dewar, the Time Patrol historian she had recently met.   Dewar's people considered Frieza a shame on the honor of their species, and Luffa was beginning to understand how deep that shame ran.    It was one thing to know about his evil deeds.   Facing him in person was an entirely different experience, one that revealed entirely new reasons to despise this monster.   As he glanced around in search of his foes, Luffa could tell from his blank expression that he didn't care at all what his people thought of him.    Like so many other Luffa had fought, Frieza considered himself the only being in the universe that mattered.   Luffa's only regret was that she lacked the power to give him the same treatment as the others she had faced.
For a moment, his eyes met hers, and she wondered if he planned to attack her next, but then she sensed something, a rising power coming from where she had sensed Vegeta's dying energy.    Dende had healed him after all, it seemed.  And he had gotten stronger.   The only question was, would it be enough?
And if it wasn't enough, would Luffa be able to make up the balance?
NEXT: Unfulfilled.

Note
Further applied pressure from the pup's jaw would cause Hakkona to exhale a touch more harshly than before, though not by much. Solid muscle tissue seemed to act as a resilient armor against punctures, to her own benefit. When Cayla panicked and withdrew from biting the Saiyaness's arm, though, the large woman would rub at where she was bitten; a raised brow accompanying the gesture.
Whimpers would snap Hakkona back to reality, though, as her own onyx oculars met Cayla's. A neutral expression was worn on Hakkona's features for a second, before a soft smile etched itself on her visage; a sense of calm constantly residing within her. "It's okay, don't worry! I'm fine!"
Showing Cayla her arm, Hakkona would let that soft smile of hers grow just a touch more. "I just hope you're okay."
Just what was it that pushed this little girl over the edge so badly? Wonders will never cease. She would be easy to deal with, and it'd look like for a second that she was holding herself back from biting this stranger. Her yellow eyes showed malice and a need to kill. Or atleast badly wound. She ain't that strong. Growls of an angry puppy escaped her just as a last chance for the stranger to walk away.
Socially shy in some situations, Hakkona had the slight misfortune of being by herself when the little girl seemed to want to take her anger out on somebody. It would take the Saiyaness a few moments, but once her onyx oculars met the yellow hues of the angry puppy, a worried expression plastered itself onto her visage.
"U-Uh... Hi?" Unsure of how to approach the situation, a greeting would almost meekly escape the 6'0" tall, extremely muscular woman; walking away not even registering as an option, given her caring nature and immense strength.
Crouching down to check on the little girl, she'd likely put herself in a better position to be bitten in the arm, or wherever was the most opportune place to attack.

He rose through the ranks solely to be there for his sister. He is talented with any blade, preferring sabers and greatswords.
Amelia Brown: The Stubborn and Rowdy Queen of Clubs
Age: 24
Pairing: Chase Aspen
Description: She is pale with tons of freckles and muscular, but still only 5’4”. She has strawberry blonde curls that fall to her shoulders but are usually pulled back. She has large minty green eyes.  She likes wearing black mens trousers with a black and teal corset and heeled combat boots. She keeps her daggers and throwing knives on garters around her thighs.
Summary: Stubborn and Rowdy, Amelia grew up around guys and always preferred to fight and train as opposed to getting dressed up to play house. She specializes in any short dagger or throwing knife. She graduated at the top of her class and despite being a girl worked her way up the ranks. She is better about dressing up now, only doing it when she has too.
Chester Leilani: The Calculating and Observant Jack of Clubs
Age: 27
Pairing: Asexual (thinks love is a liability and a waste of time)
Description: Very similar to his sister, he has dark emerald eyes and pale skin with lots of freckles. He is 5’10” and extremely lean and toned. He has short mahogany hair and prefers a simple button up with a vest and trousers. His uniform and outfits are spotless at all times.
Summary: Shy and quiet like his sister the medic for the Diamonds, he climbed the Clubs ranks purely to protect her. If anything was to go down, he wanted to be with her on the battlefield. He is observant and the main tactician for the Clubs, the only person he can’t beat in a chess game is the King of Diamonds. He is a sniper, preferring to stay out of the close combat so he can get a better view of the battlefield and strategize to the best of his ability.
Sky Night: The Talented and Enigmatic Ten of Clubs
Age: 24
Pairing: Asexual (thinks love is a hoax and relationships are a weakness)
Description: Black hair with dark brown highlights, and pale skin that tans easily, he looks quite forgettable, if not for his dark purple eyes. In the shadows, they look black, but in the sunlight, they seem to glow. His build is average, but muscular, and his clothes are simple too, whether it’s on duty or off.
Summary: He’s kind and pleasant to interact with, but seems to keep his distance from everyone. He takes orders from both armies yet doesn't seem particularly close to anyone. He’s a great informant, able to blend into shadows and stay unnoticed, with amazing memory as well. To top it off, he’s mastered throwing knives, having invented an almost perfect technique himself, and works well with snipers. He doesn’t talk much about himself or his past. He claims to have gone to IOL yet no one recalls him.
Jasper Dawn: The Soft and Naïve Nine of Clubs
Age: 23
Pairing: None (doesn't even know his sexual orientation, this adorable softboi)
Description: He has dark brown skin with milky white patches, vitiligo. His skin is quite sensitive, so he usually wears layers of sunscreen to protect it. He likes to wear scarves or turtlenecks, even in the burning hot summer. Either that, or some uneven patch of makeup on his neck. Rumors say he used to be in a gang and is hiding a tattoo for whatever reason. It doesn’t help that he’s muscular to the point of being buff, and that his face looks scary, nor the fact that those who’ve seen him without all the long shirts and pants say he’s covered in scars. His hair used to be black, but it’s now a light teal that matches his eyes, currently loose and messy around his shoulders with golden accents. They used to be in dreadlocks.
Summary: As a kid, he was very quiet and confused, keeping to himself most of the time. He made one good friend, and remembers a stranger with dark hair and silver eyes that gave him candy, but that’s it. He eventually showed up in Clubs Academy and began his training there. Even as an adult, he’s still quiet, but really kind with his soldiers. Despite his intimidating face and presence, he’s just an innocent little softboi!
Avi Gatilin: The Gentle Giant and Night Owl The Eight of Clubs
Age: 26
Pairing: Saiya Shade
Description: Flawless darker skin, is 6’0” tall with broad shoulders and muscles for days. His hair is semi long, and a rich brown color depending on light. His eyes are a dark blue that could almost pass for black. He wears a black shirt and pants out of uniform and keeps a pair of leather gloves on him at all times.
Summary: Looks are extremely deceiving with this gentle giant. He is really quiet and shy, preferring to blend with the shadows. He may be intimidating, but is actually very soft spoken, preferring to capture people alive and peacefully. He is the other night unit and is only awake between the hours from 4pm - 8am. IS best friends with Saiya, they have been working together at night for years.
Declan Maverick: The Relaxed but Relaxed Tank and The Seven of Clubs
Age: 28
Pairing: Married to Candance Valentine
Description: Is another tall boi 6’0” with toned but buff muscles. He has dark gold eyes and longish mahogany hair. He usually just wears his clubs uniform with the sleeve rolled up and jacket open. Wears a broken watch on his wrist that is the only thing that connects him to his family.
Summary: Declan specializes in a blunt weapons unit, liking the two handed staff the best. He is very laid back and relaxed, but is still extremely protective of Lullaby. Nothing will threaten his wife and twin boys. He was raised by Jacobs family after being found outside the barrier with only a watch. When he grew up he decided to take the name on the back of the watch since that was his only clue to his real identity. His wife is the second diplomat of Lullaby and he rarely sees her.
Jace Grant: The Trigger Happy and Competitive Six of Clubs
Age: 28
Pairing: None
Description: His skin color is medium and his hair would be brown, if it wasn’t shaved. His built is tanky, slow, bulky even. His eyes are brown and it’s been compared to sh*t on multiple occasions. He usually wears something he thinks is cool, but actually isn’t.
Summary: Jace isn’t the easiest to get along with, even harder to understand than people like Jacob. He by no means had a sad backstory, nor was he born into a rich and spoiled family. Looking at his childhood, no one would have guessed that he would grow up to be the a**hole of Lullaby. Don’t challenge him unless you want to end up in a hospital. If it wasn’t for his position, he would’ve long become a fugitive from multiple murders.
Celeste Soleil: The Timid and Celestial Five of Clubs
Age: 23 and a half
Pairing: Kyle Ash
Description: Tanned flawless skin and a dimple on her cheek, she would look ordinary if it wasn’t for the star shaped freckles across the bridge of her nose and cheeks. They’re something she takes pride in, as a Soleil. Her hair is in shades of pinks and purples, like a galaxy. Her eyes are a pale lilac. Her uniforms usually have clusters of stars on the edges that she embroidered on herself. Around her neck rests a sphere filled with glitter that sparkled like a galaxy.
Summary: Unfortunately, Celeste was born with a weak body, being unable to use her magic because of it. Because of her delicateness, she was deemed unfit for the role of Jack of Diamonds, a role her family has had for generations. Instead, it went to her cousin, the older twin, Lunarye Star. Luckily, Celeste was still able to join the Clubs Army as a medic. She’s the third best in all of Lullaby.
Aro Shielde: The Pussy and Scaredy Cat Four of Clubs
Age: 23
Pairing: Mei Venus
Description: He’s pale and doesn’t like the sun, since he’s the type that gets sunburned easily. His hair is dirty blonde with long bangs over the left eye, just like his cousin Zepherin. The said eyes are dark blue, almost black, like two deep pools of water (Mei’s words). He’s lithe and very tall, like a big beanpole. He would go around wearing armor if given the chance, but it’s too heavy and bulky.
Summary: He’s, well, the pussy of Lullaby. That’s all there is to him. He’s a scaredy cat that would run and hide at any possible chance, even if deep down he knows he’s more than capable of fighting. If he can get over his fear of pain and blood, perhaps he can even take the position of King of Clubs. But for now, he’s just the logistics guy, the nitpicker of plans, the one who over worries to the point where people just wanna knock him out. Jace almost does on more than one occasion.
Kayne Hanshaw: The Quiet and Romantic Three of Clubs
Age: 28
Pairing: Married to Floria Hanshaw
Description: His long and silky blonde hair reminds people of gold or elves. Mei approves. Some of the Diamonds are even jealous. His eyes are a bright, sky blue, and he’s tall and muscular. His skin is pale, but it’s been tanned from working in the sun with his wife. He just wears the usual uniform, but sometimes wears a hair clip or badge personally made by his daughter, Lily.
Summary: Kayne came from a very wealthy and prestigious family that’s serious about fencing. Because of that, he was able to get the best tutors and managed to become one of the best fencers in the area. Eventually, he joined the Clubs Academy and met Floria. They fell in love and became known as the cutest couple or power couple of the schools. People say that high school sweethearts never work out, but that’s not the case for Kayne and Floria. They got married and even adopted a kid! Kayne is usually quiet but is a real sweetheart, always writing little letters to his wife and daughter. They’re all he talks about, whether it’s at the Clubs Headquarters or at the animal rescue centers Kayne and his wife volunteers at.
Crystal Mare: The Timid and Shy Two of Clubs
Age: 23 and a half
Pairing: Zero
Description: Unlike her older sister, Jewel Mare, Crystal isn’t as fixated on her looks. Although her family is a renown family of jewelers, and although they’re considered the nobility of the Clubs, Crystal was never that fond of jewels. With pale, easily sunburned skin, jet black hair that rests by her hips, and her bluebelle eyes, she doesn’t look a thing like her family. The only thing that might be able to tie her together with them would be her tall and slender frame, perfect for modeling. She prefers to dress down rather than dress up, and her style can be considered ‘old-fashioned granny’ in a bad way. Mei’s been begging her to dress in clothes other than long skirts and ugly sweaters, but she refuses.
Summary: Despite her filthy rich family, Crystal never liked the luxuries. She was known as the black sheep of the family, and all the attention usually goes to her elder sister. When Crystal decided to join the humble military, her family practically disowned her right then and there. She isn’t in touch with them anymore, but does occasionally exchange letters with Jewel. As long as Crystal doesn’t take the spot of ‘Most Beautiful Girl in Lullaby’, Jewel is neutral with her. Because of always hiding in the shadows during fancy aristocratic banquets, Crystal developed a shy and timid personality. She prefers to avoid violence, so she uses non-lethal bullets when sniping.
Dynite Spark: The Chaotic Explosives Expert and Ace of Clubs
Age: 27
Pairing: Solaria Star
Description: Tall at 6’2” and slightly muscular with tanned skin and bright blue eyes. He has messy orange and blonde hair. He wears pretty basic clothes that are always charred around the sleeves from his experiments and explosions.
Summary: He used to be a fire and dark elemental but his magic was extracted when he couldn’t control it, now it is used in his guns and explosives. He kept his pyromaniac personality. Very blunt and straightforward, he is a loudmouth and an extrovert and will always say what’s on his mind even if it would offend others. Very honest, probably can’t keep a secret. People naturally flock to him because of his carefree personality, but he can be a true gentleman when he has to. He is very chaotic and passionate about his job. Is a huge daredevil, if you dare him to race down the stairs, he will jump out the window. One of the only non magic users to have a familiar.

DBZ The Tree of Might Reaction
DBZ Movie Rewatch #3, - Tree of Might
Tumblr media
[It's T.Hawk in Saiyan Armor]
This one was original named “A Super Decisive Battle for Earth,” which makes sense, because they really do get pushed right up to the edge, like Goku has to resort to the Spirit Bomb TWICE actually, because the first one doesn’t work. The “Tree of Might” is sapping all the life energy from the Earth, so there’s a montage of plants withering and animals laying down to die.
I also really like the Tree of Might as a concept, a parasitic alien tree that destroys planets to produce fruit that makes you stronger. By the way, this is the second ecological disaster in these DBZ movies.
I used to be convinced that I liked this movie, but watching it again. It’s kinda boring. Turles' Minions don’t leave that much of an impression, and they disappear to fight off the rest of the Z-Squad. Goku is in this weird place where he can Kaiohken x10, but can’t go Super Saiya-jin. There’s no really victorious moments. Goku just limps to the finish.
Turles is SOMETHING. He’s not just a carbon copy of Vegeta/ Nappa. He’s pretty grounded for a villain that’s the leader of a squad. He might be a world conqueror, but he knows he’s working his way up. He’s found himself a niche, and has a mechanism to steadily rise to the top. He needs strong allies, and so he does take the time to try to recruit Goku/ Gohan.
I’d say that he should have turned into a Great Ape, but that would just draw more comparisons to Vegeta. However, something that keeps coming up, is the idea that Turles is what Goku would have become, if he hadn’t hit his head. Its interesting that Turtles works with a squad, just like Goku, unlike Vegeta that didn’t tolerate weakness.

[hashtag - this screenshot is not from the movie]
There’s a theme of Nature restoring itself. First with the forest fire at the start of the movie, and then with everything returning to normal once the Tree of Might explodes.
6/10 It is a plain bagel.

[Pour one out for the original Z-Squad. This is the last time they'll pretend to be part of the plot.]

Kestrel’s First Game
Almost 1.5k words.
This a short story about my oc Kestrel’s first apex game. I first wrote this in March (which feels like a year ago now) but now in Quarantine I need something to keep me sane so I revisited the concept!
This will probably get no likes/reblogs but if you see this I hope you have a wonderful day :)
For context : This is the first game of Season 4.
The first official game is always the toughest. The Apex Arena is composed of some of the most dangerous individuals in the Outlands. Somehow, with much work and effort, Magnolia found herself in the lion’s den. Masquerading as a lion herself, though deep down she knew she was as tame as a house cat.
Out of all the places she would’ve seen herself going, she’d never thought she’d end up here. Surrounded by legends. I’m just an engineer. Here, no one knows who she is. To the other competitors, she is just a rookie with a mask. That was both a relief and hollowing to know.
The combatants play to win. They fought to the death yet death is scarcely permanent in the Arena. Legends bring in the money, no legends no money.
Some do it for fame, glory, or to protect those they love.
Why am I here? Magnolia thought to herself as she boarded the dropship.
No matter how she prepared for the fierce dance with death ahead, she did not expect to see her. Among the mysterious and well-known legends, stood a fiery-haired pirate wannabe. She wore a laser cutlass on her belt and a purple overcoat. She talked to a tall woman who dressed in a uniform. Clearly an experienced soldier.
Should I talk to her?
Saiya’s voice rang in her head. “Stay anonymous. No one needs to know your identity. It can cause complications. “
Magnolia ended up turning to the games after being blacklisted by Hammond Robotics.
She ultimately decided to keep to herself.
“Approaching drop zone.” Teams appeared on the large clips of the drop ship. On the screen flashed images of ‘Kestrel’, ‘Bangalore’, and ‘Bloodhound.’ Kestrel hesitantly stepped onto the platform with the two legends. “Guess I’ll show you the ropes, stick with me rookie.” “Thank you.” Kestrel glanced at Bloodhound who gave her a nod. They dropped in an unmarked part of the map. Each of them searched their own building.
Kestrel found a peacekeeper and sentinel. She had a hard time using snipers, but she spent loads of time practicing. Maybe it’d finally pay off.  “Kestrel, enemies move on your position.” Bloodhound’s thick accent rang through the comms. “Thanks for the heads up.” She readied her peacekeeper. A lanky man with a green trail dashed up the stairs, seemingly unaware of her. She fired one shot, he returned fire with an R-99, the pellets skimming her armor. She felt the adrenaline pump through her veins.
Once the fire stopped, she leapt down the stairs and fired a final shot. “One down,” She said over the comms.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Bloodhound down another assailant. One who seemed familiar. ‘Wraith’ I always thought she’d be taller. Wraith’s pale eyes met the cold steel of Kestrel’s gaze. She seemed scared. Her haunting gaze made Kestrel shiver. Not that anyone would notice.
“Enemies moving on your position. Retreat.” Kestrel held Wraith’s gaze a moment longer. Bloodhound put their gloved hand on Kestrel’s shoulder. “Come on, felagi.” She nodded, and they moved into the ring, dodging the squad that attempted to third party.
As they moved into the ring, Kestrel decided to make small talk. “I wish I got a chance to see World’s Edge before Hammond Robotics got their hands on it.” “It was disheartening to see the destruction of such wondrous fauna.” Bloodhound pet their bird. “Artur misses it as well.” “That’s a lovely raven.” Artur cawed at her. “He likes you.” She smiled, although it did not show.  Bangalore chuckled slightly. “It’s refreshing having an FNG who doesn’t try to do the whole tough act.” “I must agree. Pretending has not gotten anyone far.”
Kestrel nodded. “I could never do the whole macho, lone wolf act. I’m a softy at heart.” They continued along to the Harvester. “I’m going to scout up there.” Kestrel pinged the area where she was going to scout. She activated the flight setting on her suit.
The top of the Harvester was covered in deathboxes. No sign of recent activity. She then heard footsteps. She shot a figure that instantly disappeared. “What th-” Someone knocked her onto the ground.
As she reached for her peacekeeper, she heard a grisly chuckle.”Beg for your life. It's good for both of us.” The assailant shot her arm. She cried out in pain. She finally met eyes with him. Fight or flight. She could do neither.
The taste of iron filled her mouth.
His yellow eyes were cold and empty.
He smelt of blood and metal.
She watched in horror as one of his robotic hands transformed into a blade.
A cold sensation entered her chest as she was lifted from the ground.
A shot rang in her ears as she fell back down onto the cold floor of the Harvester.
Her breathing was heavy, but she was alive. She could feel the adrenaline wearing off. As she felt someone stab a syringe into her chest, she opened her eyes. Bangalore, a welcome sight. “I’m relieved to see you,” Kestrel’s voice was hoarse.
Bangalore handed her a medkit. “Thank you.” “Don’t mention it.” Kestrel’s face heated up. I’m glad I’m wearing a helmet.
Kestrel glanced down at the deathbox of the monstrous being that almost killed her. “What was that thing?” Bangalore shrugged. “Let’s go.”
That murder robot has bad news written all over him.
The last few rings would be closing in on the Sorting Factory.  “Be ready for a fight.” Bloodhound scanned the area. “We probably shouldn’t engage”
Over ten people were fighting in the area. Constant gunshots could be heard. "I am Blothhundr!" The masked hunter ran into the main building.Bangalore watched the hunter frustratedly.
“Sniper up top, think you can handle em?” “Yeah, I got this!”
Part of Kestrel was eager to prove herself to the soldier and hunter. She activated Flight on her suit. “Taking to the skies.” She leapt up onto the roof of the building, sentinel in hand. One-shot hit the combatant she downed earlier in the game. No sight of his teammates though. She glided down to a position where she could look at the battle happening below.
An energy pylon was set down below. Energy pylons disable grenades. Beside the pylon was a combatant, they wore blue and orange. They were trying to heal their health. Headshot. “No!” A familiar voice yelled. Kestrel quickly shot a blue robot. She could hear footsteps approaching her position.
Kestrel attempted to pull out her peacekeeper. It was knocked out of her hand, a sharp pang entered her stomach. Crying out in pain, she made eye contact with the person who stabbed her. Wraith. “Looking for me? Here I am.” Wraith smirked. Then kicked her. Causing her to fall to the ground. “We all have our reasons... don't take this personally” “Hard not to.” Kestrel said between gritted teeth.
Bangalore and Bloodhound rushed up the stairs, They followed the trails of death boxes to the sight of their squadmate being tossed into the void. Bangalore hip fired her G7-scout. Bloodhound joined in the spray of fire. Bangalore then tackled Wraith, took her gun, and fired a final shot. “2-1” Bloodhound looked at Kestrel’s deathbox.  “I am unable to take our teammate’s banner.” “That’s odd.” Bangalore glanced at her maps. “No respawn beacons in the ring.”
The duo made mincemeat of the final squad. Champions of the Arena. The two stood proudly on the pedestal. “I wonder what happened to her.” All the legends who competed in the game waited on the drop ship.
Bangalore approached Wraith. “Where’s the rookie?” “She’ll be here.”Temporary exposure wasn’t dangerous but people sent to the void often return cold and empty. Fortunately, Lifeline found medicine to aid those sent to the void, but they needed the victim there to administer it.
Bangalore was slightly worried. Most FNGs pass out from getting downed. Getting sent to the void? Most would leave and never come back.
The void was not a pleasant place to be.
Kestrel looked around. She felt the pain of the stab wound as her whole body shivered. “Where am I?” “The void.” “Saiya?”
After a few minutes, Kestrel exited a portal in the middle of the drop ship.  A cloaked figure stood behind Kestrel as she fell onto the floor of the drop ship. She still had her wounds from the game and was shivering badly. “Medic!” Lifeline gave Kestrel a shot. “This should make it betta.” The pink-haired woman then took out a drum-shaped drone and it began to restore Kestrel’s tissues and blood. “Thanks.” Her voice was hoarse. The whole scene was quite an ordeal.
“Well, we’re heading back to Solace, winners get free drinks at my bar.” Mirage, a curly-haired man with holo tech, piped up. Trying to improve the general mood. Most of the legends cheered at the suggestion. “Sure, I could use a drink,” Kestrel said, already seeming better.
“So are you  planning on sticking around?” Asked Bangalore. “Of course, I didn’t make it this far to give up now.”
