Saints Row IV is so unhinged. And as someone who never played Saints Row before it’s even funnier because nothing fucking makes sense characters-wise because their stories are in the first three games. But it doesn’t matter because SRIV is chaotic enough the storytelling doesn’t need to make sense. Is it glitchy as all fuck? Yes. Does it crash every other fucking mission? Also yes. Do I care? Lmao no. It’s like one big fucking troll of a game. The story’s fucking narrator turns out to be Jane fuckign Austen, like what the fucj man I need more games this fucking unhinged.

What is their birthday or date of birth OR how old do you see them as in the games you play them in?

Audrey Langston my beloved. in my head, she starts out 19-20 in SR, then 25 in SR2, 27-28 in SRTT, 29 in the prologue to SRIV, then 34-35 in the rest of IV. her birthday is April 7, but that, along with most personal information about her, she keeps solidly to herself. (and to Johnny, Pierce and Shaundi, the people who have been with her the longest time.)

Which is their voice?

I’m a Critical Role fan, so I obviously immediately went for Laura Bailey voice. in-universe it’s somewhat raspier.

Who is their second-in-command or are all their lieutenants equal?

Johnny was her initial second-in-command, but after his apparent death she split the role between Shaundi and Pierce. I imagine the moment Shaundi was kidnapped in SRTT, Audrey’s response was to say “fuck it” to revenge and to being Feared—at heart, she cares deeply for the Saints, who she sees as Hers, and she especially could not bear to lose Shaundi after losing Johnny. getting even more fame and fortune actually barely even registered in her brain, although she did bask in it and the power very happily.

with Johnny’s return, she’s pretty much made him her second again, but now he and Shaundi and Pierce kind of make up an advisory council to her. it actually kinda played into Keith’s betrayal—he found it galling that Audrey made him VP but listened more to Shaundi and Pierce than to him, and that just built up over years and years until he broke.

Fuckers should’ve just remastered the older Saints Row games and made a mad epic time travel sequel where you have mini take overs for different periods

to ensure shit will happen as it is because a rogue Zin (maybe like Zinyak’s child or successor or some shit) is trying to fuck up earth’s history to ensure the Saints / The Boss don’t happen (also makes it a funny way to insert a bunch of different Bosses lmao)

until you get to earth before the Zin invasion and it’s the Saints Empire (Player-controlled) vs Zin Empire 2.0

And it’s a wild card whether the current Saints / Boss in that timeline are going to be on your side OR rightfully going to try and bring the the Saints Empire down because they’re trying to usurp their existence (ends with the main dudes from SRIV and the alternate timeline Saints merging through some simulation shit and one set of bodies disintegrating because they can’t exist at the same time) and they defeat the Zin again

OR it’s twice as many of SRIV’s cast of Saints for double the fucking chaos

Either way it ends with the next big bad being a god that wants to destroy the galaxy because you keep having to raise the fucking stakes to some bigger shit

AND THEN after that game you open with the Saints Row Reboot where the events of the OG Saints Row is some sort of series / comics / fanfiction / SOMETHING (cause honestly the ridiculous higher and higher stakes going into the next season sounds very Supernatural to me) but it’s also a * wink wink nudge nudge * actual alternate universe

Boss/Matt Miller & Kinzie Kensington from Saints Row IV

We wore the Boss & Kinzie outfits from the Saints Row IV teaser image to PAX East 2013 originally and had an absolute blast in them and after that, Heather did a couple of other Kinzie costumes in the same vein - her cabinet portrait and the press conference outfit, while Nate also did Matt’s cabinet portrait outfit as well!

Later that summer we were joined by Bria in D.C. to take some fancy presidential shots while the Washington Monument was getting some work done~ just pretend Zinyak did something to it and it was getting fixed. ;D

(Also, one of the photos features the Saints flag we sewed from scratch that had people on Facebook go off about us desecrating a flag when it’s the most lopsided set of stripes we’ve ever put together and not even the colors of a normal flag!!!!!)

i like Saints Row as a series (and have fun in most Volition games that aren't directly related to SR like Red Faction and Agents of Mayhem) but post Saints Row 2 definitely has a different vibe. I dunno why. I like crime games like GTA and Mafia ect which are more than just gang wars but something feels weird.

I don't know how to explain it. I kind of miss street gang warfare and am not a huge fan of huge crime syndicates duking it out tbh.

And nothing really got fleshed out unfortunately. Saints Row and Saints Row 2 actually had some hard hitting points, like character deaths, but the deaths and low points in SRTT didn't feel as impactful. Like, yeah Shaundi and Viola dying sucks, but the game sort of just moves on into hunting Cyrus or whatever happens. I haven't killed Shaundi in ages so I don't remember exactly what happens lol.

Would have been nice to have SOME emotional beats in SRTT. SRIV does this a bit better I think, but I feel like the world blowing up should garner more of a reaction than '😳' from everyone on the ship. They just move on to hunting Zinyak then dance about it. Like everyone is dead?!?! 😭

🚫 PROHIBITED — does your oc drink/smoke? do they do it regularly, or is it more on occasion or for special events?

yes to both, though he smokes more than he drinks! smoking is pretty regularly, both cigarettes and pot. (sharing cigarettes with johnny....... probably the closest he could get to initiating physical intimacy with johnny other than beating the shit out of each other back in ye olde 2006.....)

drinking... he usually doesn't bother with it outside of parties/social events. getting blackout drunk is a no go for him. brings up awful childhood memories that are best left forgotten unless he wants to add 'grave desecration' to his rap sheet... not that he would actually care tbh. but then he'd have to deal with blondie hovering because she'd think he's about to go on another bender of sorts.

😥 SAD BUT RELIEVED FACE — is your oc prone to getting stressed out, or is it easy for them to keep their cool?

hm.... mickey during sr1 and the first half of sr2 doesn't really get stressed out unless blondie or someone from their inner circle(?) is in danger. after carlos's death he's almost always frantic, but in a very mickey way. i.e. more prone to going Scorched Earth on the rival gangs. what little mercy he had pretty much goes up in smoke for the rest of sr2, and he does not calm down until stilwater is firmly under the saints control again.

oh! and probably his time trapped in the simulation at the beginning of sr4. i know there's the romanticized 50s where swearing isn't allowed, but i always figured that was a more generic thing to fit for anyone's boss. mickey's... mickey's is real fucked up. without going into it, it basically involves those awful childhood memories, but dialed up to 11. if it weren't for the single minded goal of killing zinyak he'd be a violent ball of stress.
