Hustlin’

This weekend I was working on a neon sign project in Blender. 

Step was was to download blender 2.8 which was a project of its own.

I am using this tutorial.

Part 1 and two of this tutorial are about 30 minutes long each. I’ve put about 8 hours into this project and I still have some big bugs to work out. 

I found that I really learned a lot about curves modeling the sign and a ton about nodes while working on the neon emission.

I always wind up feeling like I have bit off more than I can chew with blender. 

Here are some photos of my progress so far. 

The brick wall has a curve and I’ve lost some of the neon affect since applying that material. I’m excited to finish this project because I think it will be a good addition to my portfolio. 

I am dreading the render time on this.
