love how simple it is for saiki to say “no” or “i don’t want to” and especially that his friends would 100% respect that but instead he comes up with crazy excuses and reasons as to why he can’t go out or do something 😭 like the friend group wants to do karaoke or stuff and he could legit be like “i don’t like crowds/groups.” instead he finds long winded ways to get himself out of something ???

PLOT TWIST: all the group ended knowing it and someway they star a game called "who's saiki's favourite prrrson" (probably Nendo or Reita do the bad joke)
the game is simple: everyone tries to make saiki to prrrrr with all what they have; coffee jelly, sweets, little gifts, anything. + Bonus points if he doesn't try to hide it too much
The winner is the one who can make saiki prrrrr louder and can presume the fact in their faces until the next winner
But,It ends being a war.
At the start they all were happy to heard saiki 'cause that mean he's comfortable around them but after a few rounds they became more competitive for being the "special one" of saiki,so he end sitting in the middle of a silence war when everyone tries to give him the perfect gift so he'll purrr,at the start he doesn't understand why all of them would be so obsessed with being his special person but surprisingly the game doesn't bother him so much and he keeps all they gifts in his closet. At some point everyone has won at least one round and then they decided that the last round goes harder and who wins it is officially the "pinky beloved" (obviously aiura put that name) so everyone is determined to win whatever it takes.
And saiki is just there,Trying to keep a low profile even with a bunch of idiots following and giving him gifts everywhere
I need Kusuo to purr and I need it to be involuntary so badly you don’t understand. He’s together with his pet idiots and everyone is safe and happy and he purrs. He eats lunch with the Psykickers and he’s rumbling like an engine. Akechi and him are having a play date and whenever Akechi gets close Kusuo is just vibrating. Kusuo hates it so fucking much.

i love love LOVE headcanoning saiki as aroace like yeah!!!!!!!!! that guy in the show who says he's uninterested in romance despite his many potential love interests, including the most beautiful girl in the school??? he's still uninterested by the end of the series!!!! it's such a win for me as an aroace person to see his disinterested approach to romance and sex just never waver throughout the series, even as his tsundere tendencies break down more and more when it comes to his friends. so many shows/movies/etc would see this as something to be "fixed" when the perfect love interest comes along, but not saiki k!!! it just means so much to me <3
also, to me, saiki is exactly the kind of aroace representation i wanted. like i feel like there's two extremes of canonical aroace rep i see, where on one hand you have characters who are canonically aroace, but it'll either be mentioned once or confirmed off-screen, and then it doesn't actually affect the character at all. which feels a little bit too little, or like it doesn't matter... and on the other hand you have characters for whom their aroace identity is the whole focus of their story and character arc. and i guess this is good? but it can feel a little bit too on the nose? at least, to me? er, anyway.... saiki, even though he's not canoncially aroace, sits in this firm middle ground where his lack of interest in romance and sex is important and you get to see it sort of "at work" rather than just hearing about it once, but of course this isn't the Whole focus of the story. i also just find him and his relationship to romance and sex ("don't want it, never have, don't try and convince me that i should because i just don't") personally relatable which is nice.
ANYWAY SORRY FOR THIS LONG PARAGRAPHS BUT i get so excited about his adventures in avoiding romance because he's my absolute ideal kind of aroace rep... even if his identity isn't canon. to me it doesn't even matter that him being aroace isn't canon because whatever he has going on still represents my OWN aroace identity so well. anyway you can pry aroace saiki from my cold dead hands <3
[Confession 185]
Aahh real!! I've always appreciated the aroace Saiki hc too because it just feels.. natural? (I think that's how to describe it)
Like he actively shows signs of him being aroace through dialogue and actions but its never said actually or spelled out in front of your face which I like cause it kinda feels like show, don't tell
But yeah aroace saiki is pretty cool :)

Tickle headcanons
Person who requested: @della-the-silly
What have they requested?: Black coffee (Saiki K) and gateau chocolat (Tickle headcanons.)
Look below the cut. And enjoy your stay my lady/lord.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Saiki Kusuo:
𖤐) Saiki may be a man of almost no words but I can see that he has sensitivity on his body. Around being 60% a tickler and 40% ticklee.
𖤐) he likes to deny it at first but he uses it to get the ler wanting to tease him even more. He is a tsundere he admits that in the anime, he likes tickles but is too stubborn to tell his friends.
𖤐) When he is a ler he will be scary, like really scary. If he gets pissed off or something his friends (usually toritsuka) will be hunted like the last deer of hunting season. He will use his powers to find them.
𖤐) but if its someone like Kaidou or Kuboyasu, he will go gentler on them since he doesn't want them to know he has psychic powers but still enough to get to know that his tickles are deceiving.
𖤐) his most sensitive spots will be around his sides or armpits. And also he is like the back of the knees person.
Tumblr media
Shun Kaidou:
𖤐) Kaidou is definitely a Lee. More like 80% Ticklee and 20% Tickler. He pretends to act like a tickler when he really isn't. Saiki, Nendou and Kuboyasu get him a lot
𖤐) Sometimes he also likes to egg on his ticklers and tries to attempt a tickle fight with them. Which he usually looses but sometimes he actually wins.
𖤐) when you get his really sensitive spots he will he hysterically laughing like no tomorrow. He will be begging for mercy and saying dark reunion is taking over your mind to tickle him that badly.
𖤐) whenever he is Ler. He likes to catch his lees by surprise, usually when they are distracted like if they are reaching for something or focusing on a paper and he wants to be a smartass.
𖤐) his worst spots are his feet, belly and neck. Just a single blow by his neck will make him scream.
Tumblr media
Riki Nendou:
𖤐) This man is Ler material. Built from it all the way up. It's likely that he is a sneaker and will win tickle fights that get brought up to him. 80% Tickler 20% Ticklee.
𖤐) People don't usually like his tickle attack because he sneaks up a lot but he is also rough when it comes to actually wanting to tickle people.
𖤐) When he does get tickler he will giggle like a goofball, his laugh will sound like a middle aged dad after seeing a funny video.
𖤐) He will most likely also tease you like wiggling his fingers to get his Lee all worked up and nervous and blushing.
𖤐) his most ticklish spots are his hips and the palms of his hands.
Tumblr media
Kokomi Teruhashi:
𖤐) no one has the guts to tickle her. Absolutely zero has ANY guts to tickle her, after all she is the perfect pretty girl. She is a 95% tickler 5% ticklee
𖤐) I feel like the only time she will ever tickle someone is either Chiyo, Mera, Emu, or Saiki.
𖤐) When she tickles someone they can't leave. Her tickles are just so warm and tingly even very gently that it will be addictive. Not even Saiki made it out alive without a Lee mood for even a week.
𖤐) I feel like the only time she would be tickled is by Chiyo or any other girls when hugging her or any other affection.
𖤐) her most ticklish spots are her sides, hips and tummy.
Tumblr media
Chiyo Yumehara:
𖤐) She is a full switch. She likes to be tickled and tickle people like 50/50 on ticklee and tickler.
𖤐) When she tickles someone like Kaidou she does it roughly yet gently first she traces down the Lee's back or sides and then goes for the blow.
𖤐) When she used to have a crush on Saiki she tried to hint to Saiki to tickle her when she was in a Lee mood once but she never got what she wanted.. Poor girl.
𖤐) I feel like who would tickle her is aiura, Kaidou, and Mera. Toritsuka also got a chance with tickling her during the summer break.
𖤐) her most sensitive spots are her back and her sides.

@crawling-crawly speak, and u will be fed.
[a thousand dandelion fluffs gather and then disperse to reveal several hand crafted nensai headcanons] [they're gourmet and delicious]
-saiki and nendo are that one couple that never tells anyone they're together. they just expect (for very different reasons) everyone else to figure it out. it takes a very long time for anyone else to figure it out.
-saiki is not a fan of pda. nendo is the biggest fan of pda, but saiki has fought him down to just the ever present arm slung over his shoulder. nendo thinks this is peak romance anyway, so
-love wins
-youd think nendo would be the weird one in the relationship, what with saiki and his Normal Guy kin. you'd be wrong. sometimes nendo shows up at saiki's house and finds him speed reading an entire library of books about the history of oboes, just for fun, and he's like, what the fuck, kusuo
-seriously if nendo is able to pick up on your weirdness you are beyond help
-saikis favourite pastime is grabbing nendo's chin in one hand and squishing it to make the butt shape more pronounced. he thinks it's so fucking funny. but he keeps a straight face so he's just like :| while squishing nendo's chin together and nendo's like :| when will it end
-they nap together a lot
-their shared love of food is the focus of pretty much all of their dates
-nendo knows saiki dislikes "speaking", and actively encourages him to communicate in ways he finds comfortable. saiki rarely speaks in nendo's company
-nendo learns sign language to support his bf. he does this in secret and then once he can sign enough to hold a basic conversation he "surprises" saiki with his new skill. I say "surprises" bc it turns out that sign language is not something that saiki's brain automatically translates so he has no idea what is going on.
-its very easy for saiki to learn though, and he mentally slaps himself for not thinking of it sooner
-what I'm saying is, nendo and saiki communicate primarily in JSL
-nendo buys cute little plushies for saiki and then makes saiki hold it up while he takes pictures of him. his lockscreen changes weekly and it's a picture of saiki holding a different plushie every time.
-saiki and mrs nendo get along very well. she's almost a normal parent and saiki loves that
-nendo gets along well with kurumi. they cook together. 'nough said
-nendo does not believe in kuniharu rights
-sometimes saiki gets nendo to just lay directly on top of him. human weighted blanket
-nendo has seen saiki have multiple breakdowns about not being normal and wanting his powers to go away. nendo says the most profound and heartfelt things every time and sits next to his partner until saiki is ready for a hug <3
-this all being said nendo gets on saiki's last mf nerve. when he mooned the entire airport. saiki wanted to kill him.
-nendo thinks saiki should be silly more. he lives for saiki's silly moments. like one time they spent ages stacking empty coffee jelly pots on nendo's head, and saiki laughed, causing all 27 jelly pots to fall catastrophically. it's one of nendo's core memories
-saiki looks at nendo and thinks hnfnnfnhhn big
-nendo looks at saiki and thinks ngnhngnmgnghhh cute
-nendo always got a hand in saiki's hair. its so soft
-theyve never said I love you aloud but they DO sign it
-they absolutely talk shit about their friends in JSL
-saiki will (whilst heaving a sigh) drop everything to help nendo with his homework
-when people find out that they're together, most will ask saiki what he sees in nendo. but saiki thinks the question should be the other way around. nendo is so attentive and loving, so free with his affection, kind, caring, confident, funny, and always willing to go the extra mile just to make saiki's life a little better. on the other hand, saiki is a miserable tsundere who is so easily irritated and hates showing affection, and saiki wholeheartedly believes that he does not deserve him.
-nendo thinks he's just the luckiest guy in the world. saiki could have anybody and he chose him??? every day is a blessing.
-theyre very wrapped up in each other. it takes a while for the others to realise, but once they do they can't un-notice how they're always together, stuck to each others sides like glue

@akirameta84
so many bat cuddles....
Saiki after he recovers from the blood madness but is still in big monster bat mode:
Tumblr media
Akechi is not at all tsundere and has a gf so you best believe he's getting ALL the scritches n snuggles lmao. He tends to turn into a little bat fairly often too, unlike Saiki who's usually in human form, so #winning.

Yeah oh! Wait so obviously Tori would def do anything saiki threatened asked him to do right but he'd def do a bad job at it unless he would have lets say a rewarddd~ so he def begs saiki to transform into his girl form whenever Tori wants (really only in private and whenever saiki wants but still a wins a win) and saiki reluctantly agreed with a bunch of terms ofc. But yeah he def teaches Tori boundaries with girls esp when he's in his girl form. And he also makes me be less pervy and stuff bc he cannot be flirting with girls anymore since he's spoken for. It kills Tori to not flirt but at the same time I think he'd get payback on saiki by being so fucking gay. Like he knows saiki dislikes attention and pda so he'd purposefully make a move and flirt with him instead of girls to get his horniness out and it's fucking hilarious bc saiki can't do anything Abt it bc theyre in public and he's gotta keep up the act. Like sure he can be a lil tsundere Abt it but if he's too tsundere or mean then the act won't be believable anymore and that means the plan fails.
saiki that has great disliking for whipped cream and toritsuka who loves whipped cream

hi hi!! i saw you didn’t have many asks so i took this as my chance😈
i haven’t rlly seen this anyway but hcs of saiki with an s/o who’s like just as pretty as teruhashi or hell even prettier if you will. (idk it’s rlly up to you) but instead she’s actually just as sweet as she is on the outside, in the inside. also bakes and brings him sweets bc that’s all i’ve ever wanted to do☹️
hi!!! i'm sooo sorry i'm late i got like two root canals and then had a migraine for three days straight- anyways, excuses aside, here are your hcs! i hope they're what you expected them to be i'm not really sure T_T
(sorta long because my brain runs at 100mph)
s/o uses she/her pronouns!
saiki's really beautiful s/o headcanons
- he unintentionally compares all of teruhashi's and his s/o's thoughts and LOVES the difference
- every time they meet someone new teruhashi thinks along the lines of "they're probably stunned by my beauty" but his s/o just thinks like a normal person "damn those are some nice shoes" "omg i have the same earrings" "their eyeliner is so on point ugh"
- of course teruhashi is very jealous, not only because of saiki dating but also because his s/o's prettier (her focus shifts from saiki to being even more beautiful which is an absolute win for saiki as well)
- saiki remembers his s/o whenever he listens to "what makes you beautiful" by one direction but he'd never tell her
- no because how does she have no idea that she's absolutely stunning people literally fall at her feet when she enters the room-
- whenever they're in public saiki can always sense the adoring thoughts people have over his girl so he makes it very blatant that they're dating (arm around the waist, forehead kisses, the works)
- she gets hit on SO often saiki is tired at this point
- superpowers aside he gets jealous sometimes too you know
- if he sees a man making her uncomfortable he will reflexively yeet them into the stratosphere
- "saiki that was a bit unecessary-" "are you okay?" "am i... yeah... thanks :]" "good :]"
- saiki feels like he doesn't deserve her a LOT because he's soOoo average (lol you wish saiki) and she's absolutely drop-dead gorgeous
- also often thinks he's wrong for dating her because she deserves better and he's not really great at showing affection (he doesn't touch her much because he's afraid he might accidentally blow her up or something, and he's a tsundere in general)
- but when she bakes stuff for him he knows he has found The One™
- she brings him a present. he looks at her adorable, excited face. he looks at the present. it's sweets. he swears his soul leaves his body for a moment. wants to propose to her instantly
- is plagued with the thought "how did i get this lucky" every single time he sees her
- he loves listening to her thoughts because although she's so gorgeous she thinks about such MUNDANE things like what she wants to have for dinner???
- her mind is as beautiful as her, she has the most amazing creative ideas as well and saiki will fondly listen to her speak about them even though he already knows
- she's so kind too she basically changed saiki's perception of humanity
- he always had a thing against good-looking people because they get an ego about it but his s/o absolutely clueless about her beauty
- saiki sometimes tries to show her how beautiful she is but she puts it down to him being a sweet boyfriend
- that being said she isn't self-deprecating or anything, she just doesn't think much of appearances and saiki thinks that's wonderful
that's all, i hope it was okay! <3
send me more asks for hcs, oneshots, or anything in general!
(i have also joined the haikyu fandom so i will take asks for that as well, if anyone has to offer any <3)

Seriously though, Saiki in The Disastrous Life of Kokomi Teruhashi is at his most ridiculous ever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Teruhashi wanted to go and drink a shake with him. So Saiki being Saiki, he makes sure she won't get to ask him out.
Except he just... turns invisible and goes with her anyway?
Tumblr media
He doesn't have a shake of his own because of his clownery, so he just... goes and drinks from Teruhashi's straw?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like if Teruhashi would've gotten to invite him, she would have bought Saiki his own shake. But no, here goes Saiki making things worse for himself and giving Teruhashi more than she would've even bargained for.
Then, when Teruhashi stands-up, he follows her and stands so close to her for absolutely no reason whatsoever, that Teruhashi almost accidentally touches him?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus, what's up with his thoughts?
Tumblr media
Does he even realize how ridiculous he sounds here? He's the one who's getting involved with her right now. He could've just saved himself the trouble, bought himself a shake and drank it at home. Teruhashi didn't even get to invite him, he invited himself.
THEN, to top all this off, he looks all smug when Teruhashi notices she's missing some of her shake??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sir?? What do you even have to be smug about? She just wanted to drink a shake with you and you not only did that, you also gave her an Indirect Kiss™?
He is such a tsundere that he willingly just went on a date with Teruhashi, yet he still acts like it's a win for him because Teruhashi didn't realize he was there. LMAO. 😂

The Quest For Coffee Jelly
A/N: I’m a huge, huge sucker for hurt/comfort and Saiki.
Word Count: 0.9k
Warnings: None
This was supposed to be a headcanon of reader getting injured and how Saiki, Teruhashi, Kuboyasu and Kaidou would react but I got carried away 🤧. I’ll probably write that later. Does this even still count as a headcanon 🤷🏾‍♂️?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
☕🍨—Okay, you’ve been pining for Saiki for how long? Decades? Weeks? The day before when you saw Saiki smile???
☕🍨—It doesn’t matter how long you’ve dreamed of dating the pinkette, because today was your day to woo him. You’d managed to convince him to come over to your house and watch a live reality TV show; though that offer depended on whether you could provide coffee jelly.
☕🍨—You had thought of cooking coffee jelly (it makes it much more personal), but the one attempt at making coffee jelly had been disastrous. One trashed attempt later, and you were going to buy the coffee jelly. Your wallet could complain later.
☕🍨—You had 30 minutes before Saiki would come over and you didn’t want to come late. So, you might’ve worn your slippers instead of shoes.
☕🍨—The store wasn’t that full, but there was one person you really did not want to see here. That one annoying person who always buys the things you wanted. And there happened to be only one coffee jelly remaining.
☕🍨—You run faster than you’d ever run before, not caring for the opinions of the others in the store. You grab the coffee jelly before your nemesis can grab it; you turn to gloat your victory and then—
☕🍨—you slip.
☕🍨—The floor was wet; you could feel some of the water seeping into your clothes. There had been no “the floor is wet” sign. Oh, the money you could get if you just sue the store… 😏. Your daydreams about getting rich cut off by your rival laughing at you. You almost chuck the coffee jelly at their face – wait why are you still here, you’re supposed to be seducing Saiki right now!
☕🍨—You hastily get up, nearly stumbling at the sudden throb in your leg. But love prevails, and you somehow manage to pay for the coffee jelly (your bank account has a few words for you now…) and hobbled walked back to your home.
☕🍨—Just in time; a few minutes later the doorbell rings. You don’t want to get up. But you do, because you have a goal of getting Saiki to be your boyfriend, and you aren’t going to give up now. Each step feels like a battle and you’re losing. Terribly.
☕🍨—You put up your award-winning smile, trying to mask the pain you’re in. It doesn’t work.
☕🍨— “You’re hurt.” Saiki looks almost bored – but you know he’s not bored, it’s just him being worried but unable to express his feelings because he’s shy. You’re so lost in your fantasies you don’t notice him scrunching his nose out of annoyance at your thoughts. Saiki is not a tsundere.
☕🍨—“Nothing happened to my leg Saiki, it’s all good.” You awkwardly laugh, trying to avoid the topic. He catches on.
☕🍨—“I didn’t say anything about your leg.” You droop at his words; he’s got you there. Stupid mouth and its stupid words.
☕🍨—“Sorry, I slipped when I went shopping, I didn’t mean to—” Saiki doesn’t let you finish, gently nudging you back into your house.
☕🍨—You try to distract him with coffee jelly, but he doesn’t let you okay it works for three minutes; and forces you to sit down.
☕🍨—“What a pain..” his words draw a frown from your face, and you race to apologize for messing the day up. You’d planned everything, and now you went and ruined it.
☕🍨—Saiki doesn’t even have to be a psychic to know you’re disappointed. He can hear it from a mile away. Saiki had known you were planning to ask him out today – you’d spent weeks agonizing over it in your mind. He’d thought about telling you not to, and just asking you out himself, but you’d promised coffee jelly you’d looked so excited about your plans that he couldn’t say no…
☕🍨—And now Saiki’s paying the consequences. Well, you are. And while he could fix your leg at once, that would involve telling you his psychic powers. Which he won’t, yet.
☕🍨—Instead, he forces you onto the couch, tells you to prop your bad leg on the table and switches on the TV. You complain a bit about the cold (google says that the cold is a great excuse for flirting) and the “are you serious?” look Saiki gives you has you laughing into your hands.
☕🍨—It’s not that cold, and you’re prepared to brush it off, but the sudden feel of warmth has you confused. He brought a blanket? But—how could Saiki get up, go to your room, and get it back so quickly??? Did he teleport or something?
☕🍨—Your thoughts are interrupted by Saiki scooting just a bit closer. You know what, how he brought the blanket is none of your business. Your business is convincing Saiki to put his arm around you.
☕🍨—Saiki somehow has the coffee jelly in his hands as well and you’re almost sure he’s got to be some sort of wizard. This should be the moment Saiki shares the coffee jelly with you, and he realizes you’re in true love! Your smile grows impossibly wide, eyes flickering to the coffee jelly. Saiki refuses to give you some, and you know he can see you!
☕🍨— It’s time to bring out the big guns. “Could I please have some coffee jelly, Saiki?”.
☕🍨- “No.” Ouch. You huff, turning to the side, trying and failing to ignore the sounds of Saiki gobbling the treat. You don’t complain much more when he drapes one arm around the couch, behind you.
☕🍨—That’s good enough. For now. Next time, you’re going to kiss him.

saiteru headcanons because they’re cuties
dedicating this post to @sai-teru, @resident-of-the-mind-palace + @terusaihell just because i adore their blogs and saiteru content <3
Their dates are usually quiet ones at his house (once he finally gets his parents to leave them alone) because Kokomi knows how much he hates excessive attention and she also is happy to be alone with someone that she doesn’t have to be perfect in front of. Date activities include lots of baking, naps (you can’t convince me that they don’t), video games (in which Kusuo sometimes lets Kokomi win just to see her smile, but admits she’s a good opponent) and coffee jelly.
Kusuo is too tsundere to admit it to anyone except for his mother, but he keeps a photo of his girlfriend in his wallet.
People may not think so, but these two secretly tease each other a LOT; Kusuo’s wit paired with Kokomi’s??? Perfection.
Kokomi likes baking him desserts and coming to school early to leave them in his desk. Kusuo of course, pretends to be surprised each time because it makes her happy + she’s cute when she’s happy.
Kokomi blushes a lot around him (like a LOT) and he finds it amusing so he’ll say flirtatious things unexpectedly just to watch her get flustered.
He’s the only one who Kokomi is completely open with; some nights they’ll talk about everything from their annoying brothers to their biggest fears. She listens to him wholeheartedly and he does the same for her.
Kokomi kills the bugs while Saiki hides behind her.
Saiki Kusuo is the ultimate Protective Boyfriend™, which we’ve seen evidence for multiple times in both the manga + anime, ESPECIALLY whenever Makoto is around. If any man makes some kind of advances towards her that Saiki doesn’t approve of, they always coincidentally end up unconscious or in a garbage can.
Kokomi is a very cuddly person and it makes him blush ever so slightly whenever she hugs him from behind. She likes their height difference.
Saiki initiated the first kiss because Kokomi was too shy to do so.
Saiki would commit arson for her and probably already has

May I request Byakuya dating headcanons?
Of course Anon! Byakuya is fine af~
(Also, my first time writing for Byakuya! Even if it's headcanons!)
- Byakuya Togami, the Ultimate Affluent Progeny, is a very, very stubborn man.
- And he'll make that very clear, even when you only had a crush on him.
- He's a tough cookie to break, but once he realised that and actually wants to be in a romantic relationship; he tries to be open.
- But his instincts from the past kick in and he hides his feelings instead.
- If you read his backstory, you know.
- Do not, and I mean do not, force him to open up. That'll make him hate you very much.
- But his emotional detachment doesn't mean he doesn't love you; he just doesn't know how to show it.
- So what's showing love to him?
- Absolutely spoiling you.
- He tells you not to expect anything fancy and not to let it get to your head that you're only with him for money.
- PDA is a no no.
- He is a very private lover, loves to show affection when it's only you two or his butler is with him.
- But when Toko or Genocide try to hurt you.
- Nyoom, he's there with a protective arm around your waist telling her about how much of a pest she is.
- But over time, she learns to accept that she isn't gonna be with her master.
- He likes to be hugged and spooned, hates to admit it; but loves the snuggles secretly.
- He never realised how touch starved he was until he was dating you.
- And because of that, all affection is private as he doesn't like other people seeing him vulnerable.
- He may be a ass to everyone
- But behind closed doors, he is a big tsundere and you generally find it adorable.
- He's not the 'uwu baby tsundere' too, more like Saiki K tsundere.
- He loves kissing your cheek though.
- The lips are saved for intimate af times and the more private times.
- He gets jealous a lot, especially around the other CEO's at company events.
- Those times are the very little times he'll do PDA, but that's if someone invades your boundaries
- He hates to admit it, but when you yoink his glasses and wear them
- He finds it to be the most cutest thing ever
- Usually when you do, he'll scold you and take his glasses back; but when he leans down to grab the glasses you can see the faint blush on his cheeks.
- Especially if you take them while he's working or distracted, that's how you get him to blush furiously, looking away before going after you.
- But it's a win win for you, you get to see him without his glasses
- and OH BOY he's hot without his glasses 😳
- But in summary, he's a tough cookie to break; but when you're in a relationship, you realise how much you love him. Not for being an asshole, but because how he is behind closed doors.

Ahhh, I'm talking about the horse gambling in the horse gambling episode lol (cue 100gecs).
It's the first time Saiki gets to play a game where he can use all of his abilities to their fullest, have a real chance at both winning and losing, AND have only minor stakes involved.
While, to be fair, most of the people in his life don't know about his powers so they obviously wouldn't think to do this to him, no one else who knows about this powers tries to play with him like this. Neither Toritsuka nor Aiura, nor his parents. Kusuke certainly sets up games for Kusuo, but they always have horribly high stakes (or he makes Kusuo believe there are horribly high stakes), and often he adds handicaps to prevent Kusuo from using certain powers as well.
So the horse gambling is just a really nice example of Akechi thinking on his feet and coming up with something they could do together that would be mutually challenging and engaging. And his line about being Kusuo's playmate shows that he was intentionally trying to be inclusive of Kusuo's abilities, and not just randomly suggesting they gamble (in fact iirc he said he had no interest in horse racing at first).
Therefore it seems pretty likely that while horse gambling is the first game they played after meeting again, Akechi will keep coming up with new and different games for them to play together in the future. Not an easy task at all considering that Kusuo is a power department store, but that's what makes the playmate line so touching, imo. Akechi is promising to bring joy and fun into Kusuo's life despite the inherent difficulties because he cares about Kusuo and wants to spend time with him.
Considering that one of Saiki's biggest complaints about his powers from the beginning is that he can't experience the joys and sorrows of real wins and losses following genuine effort, this is a huge change for him, and we can see it in the shine his eyes take when Akechi offers to be his playmate and in his absolutely paper-thin attempt at tsundere reluctance ("please don't").
hsfjdlshfks anyways the whole thing makes me have Big Feelings if you can't tell lmfao

1. Aroflux
2. I fluctuate between being aro-spec (I’m not quite sure how many, but I know fully aromantic and demiromantic are ones) labels and alloromantic
3. Yes (aroflux)
4. Romance favorable
5. Platonic, aesthetic, alterous, queerplatonic (I think I feel both but I can’t differentiate them), sensual and sometimes romantic. (There might be more that I’ve never heard of but still feel)
6. Yes, they’re all mentioned above
7. No
8. Yes to both
9. I wasn’t sure what my identity was, so I spent a lot of time on the LGBTQIA+ wiki and found the term aroflux. It fit me really well, because I had spent so long wondering if I was aro, allo, or demi.
10. Have a QPR
11. Probably not
12. No to both
13. No T_T
14. I have a hush rn (a least I think I do) and I’m pretty sure I’ve had squishes in the past.
15. I thought I had a crush on one of my friends for a while, then I thought it was purely platonic. I wasn’t really sure, and decided to give up trying. That was until an allo friend tried to convince me it was a crush, so I made a post asking for help from a-spec people. Most of them said it was alterous, so now I really want to have a QPR with him.
16. Not letting your s/o have friends and/or being extremely jealous. Feeling the need to have a wedding. Having crushes and describing them the way you describe a disease. There are more, but I’ll leave it at that.
17. (I use he/him pronouns to talk about this because those are the pronouns of the person I have a hush on, not because I only want to be in a QPR with guys/masc enbies)
-Binge watch things together (Specifically Saiki K, but really any series would work)
- Go on dates
- Hold hands
- Cuddle
- I really want him to kiss me on the cheek
- Fall asleep together
- I want to cook for him, I think it would be nice
18. Have sex
19. Someone who has similar interests and/or is willing to let me obsess about my interests. It would be nice if they had a cute laugh, blushed often, and would complement me. They also wouldn’t mind me being affectionate towards them and would prefer hugs/cuddling to kissing.
20. I don’t think so. I tend to fall for fictional tsunderes though.
21. No, unless it was that one where if they fuck they lose because I would definitely win that
22. I love the idea of cuddling and hand holding. It depends on how much attraction I feel, but usually I’m fine with the idea of kisses. In theory, sex sounds fine I guess, but if I think about it in depth it makes me uncomfortable.
23. Hugging, I will stand by this
24. It depends on the day (aroflux) and who it was, but probably yes as long as it wasn’t too serious or sexual.
25. No, I can’t even tell what flirting is unless it’s pick up lines
26. No
27. Irl, no. In media, it depends but not if it’s overdone. Online, I don’t really care.
28. I think so? I had an online friend who my irl friend said had a crush on me, but I never did and still don’t see it that way.
29. Sometimes
30. No
31. Sort of? It was my friend’s younger cousin who saw a picture of me and thought I was hot. He started calling me bae and said he loved me. This all happened in like an hour. He still has my number. I did end up rejecting him but I had to lie and say I was lesbian to have him leave the friend alone about it.
32. Pick up lines that are specific to a piece of media the person you’re asking out knows nothing about.
33. Just say it directly without any gifts or anything so they don’t feel pressured to say yes.
34. Cafés
35. Kind of, I like the themed events in dating sims.
36. No, most of the people I know are allo and I don’t want to have to travel to see them.
37. Yes, the friend of mine who I have a hush on (I’ve mentioned him here like 5 times already), he’s demiromantic.
38. One (irl)
39. Around a year
40. Only online and to (most of) my friends
41. Idk if it counts because I don’t use the label anymore, but I figured out I was queer in a group chat. I talked about how much I wanted to date this one girl from a Kdrama. The response was basically “wait you’re lesbian?” I, who was in denial that I liked girls, said no. Then they convinced me I did like girls (which I do). Then I identified as lesbian for like a week or something. (Lesbians are very valid, but I’m just not one)
42. No
43. No
44. I don’t have one, but I want one
45. I don’t have one, but I want one
46. Wait that’s a thing? No, but I’m interested now. I doubt there’s an aroflux one anyway though.
47. The spade symbol even though that’s more of an ace thing.
48. They get repetitive, but I mostly listen to K-pop and I don’t speak Korean, so it doesn’t bother me.
49. They’re kinda boring, but I like romance anime (some of it at least)
50. Yes! I think Karma Akabane (Assassination Classroom), Celestia Ludenberg (Danganronpa), Byakuya Togami (Danganronpa), Midari Ikishima (Kakegurui), and Catarina/Katarina Claes (My Next Life as a Villainess) are fully aromantic. Nino Arisugawa/Alice (Anonymous Noise), Shoto Todoroki (My Hero Academia) and Kyo Sohma (Fruits Basket) demiromantic. Asmodeus Alice (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun), Gundham Tanaka (Danganronpa) and Len Kagamine (Vocaloid) are somewhere on the aro-spec.
51. I hate enemies to lovers, most of the other tropes are just boring and overused to me, but can be okay if down well. I like most soulmates AUs and yanderes.
52. Caring about another person
53. Less chance of being in an abusive romantic relationship, being distracted by crushes or being sad over being single.
54. They’re specific, and make me feel comfortable with my identity. (About actually being aroflux, I like being able to experience different amounts of attraction. It makes it easier to understand others.)

WHY I LOVE : JUJUTSU KAISEN
A/N: Hi, yes I’m back. I’m sorry for being inactive for 60 smth days and probably going to be inactive for another 2 weeks because of exams but it’s fine. <3 I promise I binged lots of animes and I’m back with more headcanons. Also, I’m not sure if you guys would like me to do more than headcanons, but do tell if you want me to. I started this as a fun blog and hope to continue that even though I’m always inactive lol. Anyways, here you go, a jujutsu kaisen rant! Ps: these are my personal thoughts and feelings, if you don’t agree with them then fair enough! ^^
Genre: Crack/Comedy/?reviewing?
A/U(s): None.
Warnings: spoilers are put in brackets and are red! Watch out for them. :D
Trigger warnings: None.
Summary: Just me ranting. :)
UHHH REVIEW TIME! The main characters ;)
Megumi Fushiguro
Megumi is best sasuke trope boy. By far my favorite emo boy. Why? Well, it’s mostly because when animes introduce characters like Megumi they’re all emo and have to avenge their village and kill people and are ‘brocken’ or smth idk.
But jujutsu kaisen does the whole sasuke trope a big middle finger and makes Megumi a less tsundere, and broken character.
Honestly, I never expected Megumi to have this type of personality because most animes try to give his archetype the whole ‘their honest’ when in reality they are just rude and selfish. Megumi is literally honest. My guy had no problems telling Gojou that he wants Yuji to stay as his own opinion which if you asked any of the people under this archetype they would respond with ‘Ugh, just keep him alive okay?’.
Like he is honestly sweet and even when trying to force Yuji and Nobara to leave it WASNT for his own well-being it was for theirs. Literally is the opposite of Ray, Sasuke, and any type of character that is emo and rude. Also he is one of the few characters that deserves to be as powerful as he is because he didn’t get his powers because of ‘his burning rage for the person who killed his village as he tries to avenge them.’ And he also has a bad background but is quite an average character. I just appreciate him. :)
Nobara Kugisaki
AMAZING-
Honestly though, she’s amazing. My favorite character since she literally is a girly girl yet is powerful (nothing wrong with that, it’s just wow.), which hear me out.
Most shounen anime girls fall under 3 categories of female characters.
The useless damsel in distress that is a tsundere.
‘Another Naruto reference? Seriously Mochi?’ I’m so sorry my lovely reader, but Naruto is one of the founding fathers of all Shounen anime stereotypes. So yes, another Naruto reference.
First of all, I don’t hate this characters, I actually don’t dislike them either. That being said I don’t like them. I get this neutral emotion whenever someone like idk Sakura I guess is on screen next to Aiura Mikoto (Who btw, is another underrated female character that deserves love even though the anime is crack-y.). I guess it’s because throughout all of the Arc’s and episodes, Sakura hasn’t changed or developed or even learned from past mistakes. It sucks seeing character that could’ve had potential, being boring and just bad. Also she’s ungrateful for her parents for no reason, and that just says a lot about her persona. To be honest, most Naruto female characters are like this, and I don’t want to hear crap about Hinata’s character because she barely got screen time and the only times we see her is when the creator pushes her to be next to Naruto more often or if the whole gang is together. (I watched a bit of Naruto so I could be wrong about this whole thing but this is again, my opinion.)
The dimwit and clumsy/tsundere/strong female fan service
Oh look, it’s everyone’s ‘favorite’ Erza Scarlet from Fairytail. But whoops, her whole character is just her having cleavage. Or everyone’s favorite crime Taboo Tattoo (I didn’t watch it but most fans have come together and agreed that it would’ve been a decent anime without all of the fan service.) Or maybe the stereotypical dimwit character that is clumsy?
Yeah, you know who I’m talking about right?
I feel like some animes, that are 23 minutes long, would be reduced to around 15 minutes without all the fan service (not counting the Opening or ending)
(Also all the dumb jokes, but that’s for another time.)
Looking at how many creators complain they can’t go too in-depth with their OC’s, because they don’t have much time, but they somehow can fit in a whole scene of people literally having their clothes ripped off because of how ‘delicious’ it is. Yes, I’m coming after you Food Wars. Even though I am a big fan, that doesn’t mean I can ignore the flaws. I am fair and will admit that, as far as characters go, Food Wars is shallow.
Personally, mha is also another crime with lots of fan service of 15-16 year old girls. 😀
I don’t want to get into the heated Hero Hei debate wether this doesn’t count because they’re ‘fictional’ or if it does. So moving on.
Can I mention how much Momo Yaoyorozu could’ve been an amazing character with amazing development and a cool quirk? I mean personally, I hate how Momo is now just fanservice. This queen has an amazing quirk, went in through recommendations, smart, helpful, is class Vice President, heroic, tall, thoughtful, rich but doesn’t brag about it and is humble, and just a cool character that could be delved deeper on?
Haha nope. Boobs.
avegsjhsowhaGEJEGOA
W h a t
This literal queen could carry this series on her back yet they have the audacity to make her have zero personality and just a background character? Like excuse me, I don’t think you understand, but Principle Nezu has more screen time than her. Literally her and Koda (Creati and Anima) could be so cool but no one ever acknowledges them. :(
Anyways let’s move on.
And finally, the love interest.
Ochako Uraraka. That’s it.
Ochako really deserves more, honestly. I was hyped up in the sports fest. because she just showed off that she isn’t backing down, and now she’s just a mindless love interest.
Honestly, I don’t like talking about this topic the most because A, it’s controversial for some reason. And B, it sucks seeing these amazing characters being watered down to just a love interest.
OH BUT NOBARA? NOBARA?
SHE DOESN’T NEED ANYONE!
She’s fine on her own, thank you very much.
I mean best scene was when she was fighting Sabrina the witch and didn’t seem to care much about scars and she just debunked all of those things and I just UGGGHHHH- <33333
Like animes try so hard to have a feminist role model by making her tomboyish and mean and a tsundere and calls anyone that looks at her a pervert.
But Nobara isn’t any of that. Nobara is fashionable and powerful. She loves shopping. She loves eating expensive. She loves Luxuries. She loves proving people she’s strong. She isn’t easily scared. She protects, and I just love her. She isn’t your stereotypical tomboy or at least she doesn’t fall into the smurfette effect or smth.
Tbh, I was worried when she joined them. I said either she’s a tomboy who’s a tsundere or a soft spoken damsel in distress, but now that I’ve seen her, I know that Nobara is Nobara. And that you all should appreciate her also.
Okay enough of that rant lol, moving on to Yuji!
Yuji Itadori
I LOVE THIS MC!
Are we going to use stereotypes again? Yes we are!
Usually shounen MCs have the worst personality either being too bland (mf MC from re-zero) or just too much of a coward/weakling/pervert/happy-go-lucky character.
I mean, if we are going to have a strong character he has to be a pervert for some reason.
A respectful character is a crybaby/weakling.
And a happy character has a dark secret side and ‘OmG lOoK hE’s SoO sc a Ry!1!1!’.
And tbh Yuji falls in the rare category.
The category that isn’t a crybaby, perverted, 11 year old that looks like he’s at least 20.
That category is what I’d like to call. The Saiki K. category.
I love MC’s like this because they aren’t too shallow, but not the whole story is about THEM and THEM ONLY.
It’s amazing to see how they still have the same personality but somehow have went through a bigger character development than all those other MC’s.
(Not disrespecting your faves, once again this is a personal opinion-)
And the way he isn’t OP and actually has trouble and the way (Slight spoilers!) that we can see that when he asks Sukuna to heal yoshino and the way Sukuna just laughs and I just like how they didn’t make Yuji just ‘become OP through the power of friendship’ and just they accepted he was dead or how his hand was cut off and he accepted it but how when he was dying he actually cried saying how he didn’t want to die showing us hey, it’s okay to cry but please don’t cry when you win a prize or competition or something. (End of spoilers!)
Ugh I just love Yuji being an MC. Again, he is one of those few rare MC’s with interesting character design, and personality without overwhelming it or just underwhelm it.
AND FINALLY YES ITS HIS TIME
Satoru Gojo
I DIDNT EXPECT HIM TO BE THIS GOOFY LMAO-
Honestly most surprising character.
DHEUIWOWV should I make a separate post for the plot, story and Gojo? It’s getting late where I am sooo this gonna get a continuation! I’m Mochi and see you guys next time, Bye-Bye! (。- u -。)

Summer Anime* 2017 Lightning Review
*Just the shows I watched, of course
I’m leaving out shows that I dropped, so if you remember me talking about a show but it’s not listed here, I was either bored by it or just didn’t enjoy it anymore after a certain point, and that’s really all there is to say~!
Shows Included: 18if, Action Heroine Cheer Fruits, Aho Girl, Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season, Centaur no Nayami, Classroom of the Elite, Clione no Akari, Gamers!, Hajimete no Gal, Isekai Shokudou, Kakegurui, Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun, Knight’s & Magic, Koi to Uso, Made in Abyss, Nana Maru San Batsu, New Game!!,  Nobunaga no Shinobi: Ise Kanegasaki-hen, Pokemon Sun & Moon, Princess Principal, Teekyuu 9, Tenshi no 3P!, Tsurezure Children,
Reminder that there are spoilers in the reviews below
18if I didn’t quite get what they were trying for with this show until about half-way through. This felt like more of an excuse to explore and experiment stylistically than to actually tell a story at most times, but because of that it got to tell lots of varied and unusual-for-anime stories, including an episode exploring the culture of the hearing impaired/deaf population of Japan, which was really cool. The ending just ended up being kind of wank, but since there wasn’t really that big of a reveal set up, it wasn’t that disappointing. If you want to see some interesting visual styles and some cool Twilight Zone style reveals, you might give this show a shot. 7/10
Action Heroine Cheer Fruits This was quietly one of the better shows of the season. It had the same framework story-wise as Love Live; girls end up banding together to save a building from being demolished and help support the town by buying into the newest fad sweeping the nation. Only instead of idol groups, it’s “local heroes”, live stage shows portraying sentai and superhero like characters beating villains with the goods and virtues representing the town they’re from. The girls are all really cute, even the really cliché ojou-sama~ Shimura had her moments. I will also give this show all the praise in the world for not only including a handicapped character but also making her a central figure to the plot. The ending of the finale where she is included in the show after working behind the scenes for so long tugged on my heart strings a bit. Plus, there is a not so vague relationship between Misaki and Roko, with Roko probably being my favorite character in the show. It’s not as moe as Love Live and the comedy isn’t as quality as something like Yuru Yuri or Wakaba Girl, but it’s still a great show. 9/10
Aho Girl The comedy reminded me of a mixture of Saiki-kun and Plustic Nee-san; very off the wall slapstick kind of stuff, but still really clever and you could tell there was a lot of love put into this show. I don’t know that I would say I laughed the most while watching this show this season (more on that later), but I would say it’s the comedy of the season for sure. Was really easy to forget the episodes were only 12 minutes long because it was just jam-packed with gags. Definitely a must watch for 2017. 10/10 Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season I definitely feel like the girl characters are getting more screen time in season 2, which is always good. I still don’t see what people see in Bakugo, even after reading ahead in the manga, I don’t feel like his attitude is “redeemed” or “explained” much at all. Hero Killer Stain definitely stole the show; he’s so grungy and RAW, and Go Inoue delivers Stain’s final lines so passionately he almost had me convinced he was the real deal. Like I said earlier, I’ve read ahead, so some of the moments to come are exciting, but there are also some that I can feel will take up waaay too much time, or even have filler put in, which I’m not looking forward to as shounen manga stretches things out enough as it is. Will certainly get another season, it’s so popular it would be stranger for it to not get a third one. 7/10
Centaur no Nayami It’s been a while since I have read the manga, but I feel like they got many of the voices down exactly the way I imagined them. However, it also felt like there was a lot of stuff that was anime-original, or at least were out of order. As much as I can remember, this was the only anime this season with a confirmed-in-show homosexual couple, and while the explanation to the kids in the scene left a lot to be desired, considering the overlying theme of “zero-tolerance tolerance” towards discrimination, felt kind of odd, and felt like maybe the studio made it a little more conservative than it was in the manga. It was a shame that a lot of the everyday life moments from the manga were cut out in favor of more tropes per minute. What I’m trying to say is that while the show is good, it isn’t the best representation of the manga that it could have been in my opinion. 8/10
Classroom of the Elite This show was almost trash, but was saved by the revelation of Ayanokoji’s true self at the very end. Right as Horikita is seemingly spilling her tsundere guts out to him as well. This, in a similar vein to Kakegurui, was really unintentionally comedic to me. There was zero tension at all, mostly because you could see where it was going in most cases. I think it was a bit cheap to have the solution to how Ayanokoji would win the survival test come from a rule they never mentioned about the classes losing points for guessing other class leaders wrong. It would be like having a multiple choice question A/B/C/D and then saying the answer was E. I also think Kushida was a dud. Every time she tried to buddy up or get closer to Ayanokoji, I kept waiting for him to say “At the risk of you blackmailing me again, I agree.” Especially when she asked him who would he choose between her and Horikita it’s like... gee, do I pick the super effective mark I just procured or the girl who has blackmail on me and is asking me this? I wonder... A show that thinks very highly of itself unjustly. 5/10
Clione no Akari This was kind of bizarre series; it was pretty obvious from the beginning that a certain character would die or was already dead. It felt like a series aimed at like 10 year olds, in an effort to teach them about bullying through entertainment. I don’t really have much to say about it, it had an obvious message with a miserable ending, I’d say pass on it. 5/10 Gamers! I’m not as enamored with this series as most people seem to be, but it has it’s charms to be sure. Karen and Aguri are really great, and in a close third Uehara-kun, but I’m not a fan of Chiaki and Keita, which is kind of bad considering they are the ones we’re meant to be rooting for. I was also pretty shocked at how well received this was considering it is almost entirely a love-pentagon rom-com; any other series with a love triangle or more seems to be met with “ugh, why does this shit have to be in here.” I suppose if it’s meant to be poking fun at the trope as a whole, then I can see it, but if that’s the case then it was so blunt I immediately dismissed it as being too likely to be the case. Karen is probably my fav in the show, and I was kind of annoyed that the rest of the actual game club didn’t really show up much at all despite the early hype for each member. Aguri is a late favorite, mostly because of how she was in the finale; a person who genuinely doesn’t understand the appeal of video games but is still willing to hang out with gamers and tease them about gaming’s darker sides. 8/10 Hajimete no Gal This was basically what I thought Galko-chan was going to be, but it also had it’s own uniqueness to it. The show knew what it was, and didn’t take itself too seriously, but wasn’t a slouch either; it made an effort to make the characters get to know each other and come together somewhat organically, considering how big the cast was. Obviously I’m drawn to Eri Kitamura’s Ranko; the misunderstood childhood friend with a gay crush on her best friend beating up any guys that try to get in her way is something I can get behind as a protagonist, let alone a side character. I think this show is actually more interesting censored than uncensored because they did it creatively and on-theme instead of just mysterious beams of light or clouds of steam. A fun show if you don’t mind sex comedies. 9/10
Isekai Shokudou The “comfy” show of the season to be sure. A great lesson in evolving narrative as well; it starts of with seemingly one off stories each week, but begins to intertwine the stories of the patrons that come along, which was done quite well. The only real problem with it is that, it’s called a western restaurant multiple times in the show, but almost everything they serve is Japanese; it was a real missed opportunity to introduce food from around the world to the Japanese audience, who would be able to relate even more to the bewildered fantasy characters coming to eat every seven days. That being said, if you just want to relax and enjoy something really just pleasant, or need to make yourself hungry, too, this is the show for you. 10/10 highly recommended
Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni It’s kind of a misleading title, to be honest; it’s meant to convey how powerful his smartphone is in this new fantasy land devoid of most technology, but it’s actually more that God gave him affinity to all elements that makes the protagonist so OP. If that wasn’t enough, he can also learn all null magic, which is meant to be like character specific spells... He doesn’t even have to be taught them, he just have to read about them in a book and he can use it, which is crazy ridiculous in any other show, but because you are expecting him to be over-powered from the start, it’s actually quite enjoyable, in my opinion. The harem stuff was tedious but at least they acknowledged that a) in a medieval setting and time period polygamy being normal makes sense and b) protagonist is still holding on to his previous world and life’s customs of monogamy, and won’t commit to marrying all of them, not yet, anyway. I don’t know that I’d watch a second season of this to be honest. It would have to go one of two ways; either an actual challenge shows up, or he ends up similar to One Punch Man, and begins working on a way to go home or something. 8/10
Kakegurui I said earlier that Aho Girl is comedy of the season, but that I didn’t laugh at it the most this season. This show (and another) would be the reason behind that. I don’t know if I’m just too jaded for it or what but the fact that this show was billed as “psychological” slays me. How anyone could take any of these characters or situations seriously, in the most obvious hentai setting on the planet, is beyond me. The style and animation was all ready pretty and well done, as were the expressions. It’s hard not to compare it to Prison School visually. My main complaint would be that Yumeko isn’t fleshed out enough; they tried to make her this force of nature type character but so was the student council president, who was far more mysterious (naturally), so she just ended up feeling underdeveloped. Since this probably won’t get a second season, I would have liked for the finale to be more in jeopardy by having the second to last episode end with the “president” denying Yumeko’s challenge with a smile, which would have been devastating to Yumeko. If you would like an edgy version of over the top characters rivaling the Phoenix Wright series that take themselves a bit too seriously, you might give it a watch. It’s hysterical. 7/10
Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun I’ll be brief about this one; it’s basically Sakamoto Desu ga, Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge, and DAYS!! mixed together. Make of that what you will. I loved the coach and the girls’ basketball star character. 7/10
Knight’s & Magic FINALLY another mecha show I can get into! Just had to make it wizardy and junk, I guess. Another show this season where the protag is OP and it ends up being just fine, honestly. A slight complaint would be that they bother to mention how much time passes between scenes multiple times, some of which are “many months” long, yet none of the characters visibly change with time. It kind of reminded me a bit of Arslan, in some ways. I would have liked to see more about the mysterious race that guards the secrets to the mech engines as well. If you’re only kind of sorta into mecha like me and want something different, this is a great show just for you! 9/10
Koi to Uso Really should have dropped this one, but there was just a glimmer of hope now and then that this would actually have an ending. It didn’t though, and now I feel like I wasted six hours of my life. There wasn’t even any big reveal in the finale that would be a hook to get me to read the rest of the story, just “he loves both and well I guess that’s it.” I liked how genuinely awkward the protagonist was; these days in anime they’ll say the protagonist is weird, otaku, awkward, but then he’ll be the least nerdy of his friends, or “borderline weird”, which when he’s with his friends makes him look normal (see Hajimete no Gal), which defeats the purpose. The guy friend who was in love with the protagonist was really interesting, and it felt like they didn’t do enough to make it feel like he would ever actually confess. The show isn’t particularly funny or poignant either, it’s just kind of there. The thing I will remember most about this show is that it had a catchy opening theme. 4/10
Made in Abyss It’s a crying shame that this isn’t a 24 episode season; who knows how long it will be until a second season, though apparently it’s pretty likely to happen. Don’t let the cute characters and pleasant background masterpiece artwork full you; there is some pretty gnarly shit in this show, particularly Mitty, a formerly-human blob of body parts that is functionally immortal, despite her friend Nanachi’s best efforts to put her out of her misery. You get to see, fully on screen, how this 10 year old became a puddle of skin, or basically the eldritch version of a pokemon. It’s fucked up. I honestly had to look away. Still, it’s a great adventure show filled with real peril and very, very dire consequences. My favorite character was Ozen because of how creepy she is but also I love her voice, it stands out from every other voice in the show. 10/10 must watch
Nana Maru San Batsu I have participated in quiz bowl in the past, but it was never this hardcore, yet still managed to have the elitist bullshit attitudes, so I wasn’t too sure I was going to like this one. However, Mari Fukami and Akira Sonohara kept me around. It’s rare to see a girl in a setting like this that is shown to have earnest and ambition separate from revenge; sure, she wants to redeem quiz bowl for her brother so she can play him again, but in general she just really loves it and wants to be better at it. Akira is fantastic, I empathize with them (for the sake of brevity, gender neutral pronouns will be used) on a lot of levels when it comes to games. Whenever I play canasta with my family, they just want to play to the bottom of the draw pile, which, when you want to play multiple games, can take HOURS, so I started playing where I would keep all of my cards in my hand, and then “go out” all at once to end the round. They stopped asking me to play because of it, but it sure was fun to throw a wrench into things while still “playing the game”. Also, Akira is really cute, I really loved the side ponytail wig. ANYWAY, I had low expectations, but this turned out to be pretty good, though there were some points I was skimming through. 8/10
New Game!! Anime of the season. I just can’t get enough of these ladies and their interpersonal dynamics. While things were once again switched around from the manga, it still feels very much like its right off the page, and a lot of that has to do with the fact that Shoutarou Tokunou, the creator of the manga, sat in on script meetings and even wrote the script for some episodes! Which is pretty unheard of I think. He even started bringing a tablet with the script on it to make changes to the script on the fly. I’m really torn on the ending; they just about all but said Rin and Ko are lovers, which was actually more than what happened in the manga, but didn’t pull the trigger. I also feel like Ko leaving is a hell of a cliffhanger, especially considering the anime is basically caught up to the manga already. Tokunou has said that Ko’s time in France will be included in the next volume, so maybe in a couple years there could be a third season? That’s being greedy though; it got a second season, and I was already reading the manga before the anime so continuing to read it won’t be an issue. I just love them so much. 10/10 highest recommendation
Nobunaga no Shinobi: Ise Kanegasaki-hen Continues to be one of the better short form series I’ve ever seen. The comedy is always extremely clever and the historical accounts and the sarcastic take on such revered figures is always great to see. If you are interested in the time period or Nobunaga specifically but don’t take them too seriously you should really be already watching this. 9/10
Pokemon Sun & Moon I haven’t been this into Pokemon for a LOOONG time, and it is 100% to do with this series I think. It’s just so fun and energetic, there’s no world-ending threat (yet), the kids are all just hanging out and discovering new Pokemon stuff together. Lillie is of course the show stealer, and it would be great to see her travel as a full time companion with Ash eventually, since she essentially leaves at the end of Sun/Moon games to become a Pokemon master, just like Ash. I may have missed about 400 episodes of the series, but I don’t remember ever seeing any of the companions as like an apprentice to Ash, so that would be a new take for the series to use I think. I said Lillie steals the show, but Musahi/Jessie is still my number one gal; she is outstanding in this season, and is honestly becoming one of my favorite animated characters ever. Which covers a lot of ground. I know some people are down on the character design and over-exaggerated reactions, but I think, like the Sun/Moon games did for the game series, this was the breath of fresh air that the series needed to stay relevant. Continues!
Princess Principal The finale felt really flat/anticlimactic. They are definitely planning on a second season, or some way to extend the story like a game, which hurt it in my opinion by leaving too many things open-ended. Also seemed really hackneyed to have Princess and Ange just immediately back to lovey-dovey mode, despite Princess telling Ange to never let her see her again after a pretty hardcore betrayal. A begrudging thank you from Princess after being saved and a stern re-establishment of their relationship as mutually beneficial rather than romantic (or extremely platonic) that would build back up to it’s previous height in a continued story setting seems like it would have been a better choice. Best girl was Dorothy easily, for me. She seemed the most like a spy out of the whole group, and was kind of the Dick Grayson to Ange’s Batman; for raw ability she may be a bit behind Ange, but Dorothy has the heart and the willpower to really become a legend in the game, while holding the group together. Even though the show felt like it fell on it’s face at the end, the rest of it was crazy good, especially the episode where they confront the double agent and former classmate. 8/10
Teekyuu 9 Speechless. How do you describe perfection. Mandatory viewing. 10/10
Tenshi no 3P! Despite the pedo alarm sounding on nearly a weekly basis for this show, it ended up not being too bad. It was kind of like Ryo-Kyu-Bu but if all of the girls were professional level athletes already. To be able to play like that at age 7 or 8, and “not know what to do” with it seems really silly, but it’s more of a story about dragging the protag out of his room after becoming a shut-in from bullying. I feel like in the end the protag will end up with the age appropriate older sister, but then again I thought that way with Usagi Drop and Listen to Me Girls! I am Your Father! so who knows where this will go. Not to a second season, most likely. 6/10
Tsurezure Children I’m sure many people on tumblr were aware of this series without actually know the title, so it was nice to see it make the rounds every week with a decent amount of popularity. There’s not really one couple I would pin down as my favorite, it’s all just really clever gag writing that is couple with great visuals, another great short form series. 9/10
