You think, grimacing at the sight of the unreleting rain cascading down onto the ground, as you shift your gaze from the window of the classroom to the board, where the teacher droned on and on.

Previously, the weather seemed warm and sunny enough to not expect any rain, although, said weather clearly had other plans.

See, you normally didn't mind the rainy weather, in fact, you welcomed it, taking comfort in the soft sound of droplets landing on your window, feeling sense of melancholy. Of course, all of this is great when one is inside the comfort of their own home. However, having to walk back home in the pouring rain with nothing to cover you was not something you looked forward with enthusiasm.

The bell rang, signaling the end of the last period. Classmates quickly packed up, rushing out of the classroom in a hurry to get to the coverage of their homes, away from the pouring water. You took your time putting all your materials away, seeing as you'd get wet anyway, there truly was no point in hurrying.

Once you reached the main doors, your steps faltered, the rain looking much more daunting up close. You gripped your bag tighter in your hands, preparing yourself for the fastest dash you were about to make. Before you could take a single step further a voice from behind spoke up "You're not actually planning on going back home without an umbrella are you?" you swirl around, finding Saiki squinting at you, as if inspecting your next move "Well I don't really have much of a choice do I" You cross your arms, huffing. He seemed to think for a second, making a split decision.

"We can share my umbrella" it wasn't a suggestion, but rather a statement, almost as if he wasn't giving you an option. To say you were surprised is an understandment, but you weren't gonna pass up a golden offer.

The walk to your house was silent until you softly spoke up "Thank you, by the way" He glanced at you, quickly looking back, a tint of pink forming on his cheeks "Don't mention it" Your eyebrows quirked up in amusement, a teasing smile forming on your lips "You know, I thought you hated bringing attention to yourself"

"I do"

"Then why suddenly bother helping me?"

It was silent for a few moments, you were starting to think you crossed a line when he spoke up "Because if it's for you, i'd do anything"

Time seemed to stop in that moment as your steps halted, your eyes going wide and a furious blush spreading on your cheeks, for once, you were speechless. Saiki merely looked at you and continued walking as if what he said was insignificant "You're getting wet"

You ran to catch up to him, regaining your senses and speaking up "H-Hey! You can't just say that!"

He smiled smugly, finding your flustered state amusing. In response you huffed, crossing your arms in indignance while you looked to the side, unable to look him in the eye without going beet red again.

At last, your house came into view and in a way, you felt a deep sense of disappointment, not wanting the moment to end, but time was not on your side and soon enough you were at the doorstep.

You mustered the courage to look up at Saiki, opening your mouth to say something, yet your voice seemed to disappear in that moment. The man in question simply looked at you slightly amused, deciding to turn around and walk back to his own home. Without thinking, you grabbed his wrist, spiraling him around and smashing your lips against his cheek. Pulling away slowly, you uttered softly "For the record, i'd do anything if it's for you too"

Quickly, you dashed to your front door, slamming it and leaning back into it as your thoughts finally caught up, making a flush rush up your entire body 'I can't believe I just did that'.

Meanwhile, Saiki stood outside, completely and utterly shocked, his cheeks going crimson. Without helping it, a smile spread on his face.

Maybe walking under the rain wasn't so bad.

Onto 0-3!

The first thing I wonder when I start reading this chapter is… why does Saiki repeat himself every chapter? Just to drill it in? I guess this was a serialized manga.

And he includes the same nose joke again… except it isn’t as funny as the original. (“If that applies to you, then please just forget about this conversation” had me in hysterics the first time I read it.)

Unrelated to anything in particular, I like the large screen tone used on Saiki’s eyes in vol 0. It’s visually interesting. I think Asou sensei could have kept using this to indicate when Saiki was using his powers.

Here we go! Actually important details to the saikiverse (if you will.) One second of staring at a target is enough to get a glance, but three seconds of staring removes clothing and five seconds removes muscles as well as skin (maybe four seconds removes just skin, revealing muscle.)

No guarantee of how true this is, but I like to think it’s more or less accurate, thinking forward to the Kusuo’s birthday challenge chapter, where he has to spend a lot of time staring at an object so that he can see through it.

I had forgotten that Chuono makes his first appearance in this chapter. Yay! Chuono san is so cute.

“At moments like these, what sort of face should I be making?” is another iconic Saiki quote. This gag still manages to be pretty funny in its rough form, imo. *Now* what sort of face does one make?? The kind of face Chuono is making, perhaps. I just love the idea of Saiki meeting an illusionist in the first place. The fake “magician” versus the real psychic who can alter the laws of reality. It’s one of the genius bits in Saiki k.

I also love the intentional misunderstanding that Saiki is an illusionist. It leads to so many funny situations down the line. Why does this random middle aged man call Saiki “master”? Who knows. In this case, Saiki’s habit of letting people make assumptions really came back to bite him in the ass. (Well, that and trying to out-magic and discourage him.)

Another detail I like: Saiki missing social cues (in this case, the dip in the conversation where an average stranger would be like, ok, see you, good luck. That’s not very neurotypical of him…

I really do find this weird stunt hilarious. Saiki’s logic is so off because he inevitably ends up dealing with weirdos expecting normal behavior. C’mon Saiki.

Also, Saiki says here that he can teleport (called apport in the comic proper I believe) not just things, but people into a specific place… crazy

Saiki doesn’t understand the (reasoning behind the) eyelash/long hair simile? Continuing to build my ND Saiki case material…

Also enjoying this little panel of Ike-san holding the 500 yen coin, which Saiki definitely gave him.

I was wondering if you could write a saiki & reader oneshot fic with a reader who has DID & C-PTSD and paranoid tendencies? The main idea is that because of the mix dissociation,switching,paranoia, different types of flashbacks etc that the readers thoughts are very fucking confusing to saiki (feel free to use this premise for any kind of plot you want just try not to make it overly angsty is all I ask, well as un-angsty as you can get with C-PTSD anyways lol) I just wanna see more y/n / reader inserts that I can actually relate to but the saiki K fandom is so small

Content: somewhat angsty but not really, i tried to be as vague as possible so as not to trigger anyone, reader suffers from trauma, DID, CPTSD, swearing, fluffy ending? slightly oc saiki

Summary: Saiki was used to listening to many types of thoughts, and at one point, nothing he heard surprised him. However when you came around, he was beyond confused. What sparks as a little curiosity might turn into something more.

He was used to it, or at least that's what he used to tell himself. Throughout the years he had heard all sorts of thoughts, at one point, he learned to tune them out when need be, having listened in on weird enough ideas that now don't surprise him anymore.

When you came in the picture, he was...baffled, to say the least. Confusing wasn't even close of a word to express how he felt. Your thought process was anything but simple. At times it'd be a fuzzy mess almost as if you lost part of your memory, other times, you'd think as if you were a completely different person, contradicting many of your previous thoughts. But what disturbed him most was the series of traumatic thoughts that would cross your mind. Flashbacks he realized in that moment.

In the beginning he felt annoyed, as per usual. Often times, he'd find you in class with a dazed expression, which to be frank, he had seen enough times to not give it a second thought. But then his attention would be caught when your mind would wander and you'd start thinking in a very unusual way. They were so unlike the person you presented to be, so much so that Saiki was left perplexed and in need to understand exactly what was going on.

The more it happened the more worried he'd be. There were days where you acted a certain way, and other days where you acted completely different. He could tell you weren't being fake trying to act differently for attention, after all, your thoughts lined up with the you acted and the things you said. Rather, it was the abrupt changes in your behaviour that had him thinking for far longer than he normally would.

Along the way, he also picked up how you'd flinch if you were in sudden physical contact, the way your shoulders would tense and the way your heart beat would speed up. Saiki wasn't stupid of course, he was aware that all of this was caused by some form of trauma.

He knew not to pry, yet his heart strings pulled everytime he saw you having a bad moment. So he began to follow you, in disguise of course, and even if he seemed like a stalker, he couldn't help it. Eventually he began to connect the dots, your reactions, behaviors, everything. It made sense now.

Unconciously, his words began to soften around you, his touch became gentler, he looked out for you in ways he had never done so with others. You began to notice but in no way did you mind, if anything, Saiki was someone you took great comfort in. What started of small slowly grew into something neither of you expected.

Of course, that didn't make it any less hard for either of you. Like right now. You were laying in Saikis bed, your head resting on his shoulder as you watched a movie, when suddenly a specific scene had triggered an anxiety attack. Your mind was racing through flashbacks of the many disturbing events you had gone through. Saiki was up almost immediately, having read your mind and sensed your reaction.

His touch was soft, his hands cupping your face so gently you'd think he was scared to break you, which he was. He was in no way someone who could comfort others easily. Nevertheless he tried his best. He attempted to lower your heart rate, rubbing small circles against your back as his other hand held the back of your head. No words were needed, they never were. He had, in a way, been there for you, way before you two even became a thing, so none of this was a surprise for either of you.

That didn't ease the guilt in your heart any less. You always felt bad. You knew Saiki could read you, literally. And well, it wasn't pretty. Countless times you had attempted to push him away, yet he never budged.

"'m sorry" you mumbled against his shoulder as your rested your head on it.

He cupped your face in his hands, pulling you to look at him.

`I won't let you push me away. The things you went through won't make me see you any differently, because to me you'll still be someone I cherish'

Your eyes welled up as you looked him deep in the eyes, finding nothing but love for you. Still cupping your face, he ran his thumbs under your eyes, wiping the tears away. He leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead.

'I love you'

"No matter what?"
