During the Palki Yatra, devotees gather together and form a procession, carrying the palki on their shoulders or atop a vehicle. The palki is adorned with flowers, garlands, and other decorative elements, creating a visually captivating sight. The procession moves through the streets, accompanied by devotional singing, chanting of Sai Baba's name, and the playing of traditional musical instruments. The Palki Yatra serves as a symbol of Sai Baba's divine presence being carried from one place to another, spreading blessings, love, and positive energy to all who witness or participate in the procession. It is believed that Sai Baba's grace and blessings flow abundantly during such yatras, providing spiritual upliftment and fostering a sense of unity among the devotees. The Sai Baba Yatra in NYC offers a unique opportunity for devotees to experience the divine presence of Sai Baba in a vibrant and diverse city like New York. It provides a platform for spiritual seekers to deepen their connection with Sai Baba, find solace in his teachings, and cultivate a greater sense of inner peace, love, and compassion.

Today I walked through the alleys of my hometown. I wanted to have a particular type of biscuits and not the ones which were available in the Kitchen. Thus I walked down to this small shop located a few steps away from my house. But the shop was closed. I was going to return back but then the Aajis who sit in the temple, singing their bhajan, called me. Its been a while since I talked to them. The Temple has changed a lot, they renovated it when I was in 12th grade but I was too busy back then preparing for CLAT, studying for boards that I never sat in the renovated temple. The temple was never a religious place for me you know, rather it was a Sunday picnic spot. A dongar-ka-paani, khaamb khaamb, kaanda phod, lappa chappi, mini lingorcha, playground. It was the place where I used to wait for my Rickshaw at 6:30 am on the wintry mornings, wear saree draped out of a chunri and get married to that one boy whose name I have forgotten, do the Taewondo thingy and spread rumors that I have enough power and skill to kill everybody in the town.
It was the place where I ate the offerrings offered to the deities and never felt bad. I talked to those idols while the Dogs barked and Sun took time to rise, I played with religion while the elders prayed (sometimes begged) their hearts out to that black, adorable tortoise. I was obsessed with the Temple's bell you know, was way too short, thus couldnt ring it with my bare hands. But I had found a stick of perfect length using which, the little Sau used to play with the bell while singing songs ranging from Chikni Chameli to Jana Gana Mana (Indeed, all with beautifully distorted lyrics). I am obsessed with flowers ever since I was a child. On weekends, waking up, collecting flowers from the nooks and corners of Sandesh colony, and making a gajra, and two maalas - one for the Saibaba at home and one for all the gods in the temple, was an integral part of my life. The 19 year old Sau says, she is non-religious, the 9 year old didnt know what does religious actually mean, but both of them would wholly agree to the fact that, some way or the other they both subscribe to the religion of flowers. Sometimes, when I liked the flowers that were offered to the Idols, I used to do a trade-off. I would keep my ordinary flower with them and take their rose or sonchafa or pink hibiscus. When anyone would scold me for doing it, I would, quite emohatically say, say, that, "Its between me and god." (Actually, that was the answer that Mumma told me to give to the hecklers. She has always been the best, I know)
Today, with anxiety medicines awaiting me in my pencil box, I thought to myself, " Ohh what an irreplaceable entity this temple has been!" After talking to those Aajis, I changed my mind and walked a few more steps to buy "Top biscuits." I was wearing a woollen knitted sweater and capri night pant, a kind of costume which I would never go out in, anywhere else on the face of earth. I have been wearing that pant ever since I was in tenth grade. I studied for boards, CLAT and now IPC in the very same piece of cloth. Sometimes I seriously wonder, have I stopped growing or what? Is tgis what "stagnancy" feel like. What if I am stuck in a puddle and now, unaware, unconcious, I have made it my world. But then, I this Uncle, who had pulled me up while I had fallen down while driving my purple scooty pept for the first time in my life, which gave me a smidgen of hope that I can at least drive a scooty without falling down forty times in a ride. I convinced myself that I am growing, slower than a balloon maybe, or ecen a cloud, but yes not stagnant yet.
While walking down that street, I could vividly see my childhood running like an animated movie infront of my eyes. Ohh I was a ruckus, a commotion back then. What all did I not do. All the streets, all the corners of those streets, all the houses on those streets and all the people who lived in those houses, knew my name. They kind of hated me. Not their fault, I was an unbearably notorious, an intractable child. How streets change, I thought. The place where there was a cherry tree, now holds within its bosom a two storeyed bunglow. I wondered, does that piece of land ever miss that Tree? Does it remember that I used to spend so much time finding a "good cherry" back in my salad days? I am a self-absorbed person, I thought. Does that land like that Bunglow? If given a choice, what would the land pick: Cherry tree or the Bunglow?
My biscuit excursion made me wonder, how arcane yet how simple it is that, no matter what, nobody stops. Actually, no body can afford to stop. Everyone is evolving, everyone has to evolve, evolution is not a choice. The choice to stay the same is also a kind of an evolution, if you think about it. Even the streets, even the electricity poles, everything had changed. Not holistically, of course (I mean they havent started painting it saffron as of now, might happen very soon but yeah), still everything bore a tinge of change to itself. I noticed how have repainted the "Danger" sign on the main electricity pole. While walking down from Tuition, I used to reread that "Khatra" written below a skull and two bones, everyday. I learned to read the term "Khatra" from that poll only. The cornermost flat, on the ground floor, of Chaitanya Apartments has made a compound, have installed a gate you know. It made me wonder, now where would all the street dogs sleep on the hot, sweltering afternoons. They even rebuilt the half-broken edges of the public waste bin on the way to my Tuition.
All that I observed, all that my approximately blind eyes could point out, stirred something inside. I was seeing something beyond those physical structures. All the abstractness that came back to me, while I walked down a half-dug, non-concerete, uneven rocky street, was not memories, neither nostalgia; rather it was a realization. Realization, that how, stopping and staring is possibly the most important thing to do, perhaps more important than inhaling and exhaling the polluted air, that a life is a wasted life where one didnt stop and aimlessly stared.

Saibaba-The Kalyug Guru
Tumblr media
Om Sairam
BABA –THE KALYUG GURU
Saibaba is a part of my family. He lives with us and travels with us. We share our joys and sorrows with him. He provides for us and also protects us. This is true for many of Baba’s devotees. I have so often heard devotees call him their father, mother, friend or grandfather. I don’t give him a specific relationship. But I know I have the closest relationship with him. So sometimes, when I read leelas of Baba, be it in the Satcharitra or any other book, I feel emotions that I would feel if it happened in my family. This is especially true when I read of how Baba physically endures our pain. I am filled with sorrow asking why Baba has to endure this for us. Why are you in so much pain? I cry as if my own child or husband or parents are suffering from the disease. I think some more and see that not just a few people but so many millions are dependent on him and He takes it all upon Himself and endures it all. There are times when I feel that I will not go to Baba and cry to him because I cannot bear to put my sufferings on Him when He is already so burdened. Isn't this thought abosolutely childish and immaturish. How  He is the Universe, the all -encompassing, whereas due to my ignorance and abundant love for Him I think He cannot bear my pinpricks!! Oh, how silly it is indeed of me to evaluate the Lord of Universe , like this. And I know what happens the moment I feel depressed, I immediately and without second thought run to Him. He has been my only answer always.  He alone will be –for me and everyone else (in the form they perceive Him in). But pondering over it led me to a profound thought : Baba spoon-feeds us in our spiritual journey by embodying what he wants to see in us. As a parent I have been told many times that to build my child’s personality I have to embody them myself- lead by example. I feel that Baba is doing this for us, his children, in the Kaliyug. He has always preached Shraddha and Saburi and he shows us this by example. He fulfils the most trivial and most insignificant desires of ours to show us that to Him these also matter because ultimately He wants to see us happy and that He is always there for us. He believes that one day our prayers will become more sincere, more profound and more in the manner He desires wherein we exercise Saburi. Depending our faith and worthiness He fulfils everything we ask for because he believes that this way we will slowly walk his path and be rid of our ignorance one day (Shraddha). Baba has immense belief in us that, slowly maybe, but surely we will reach the true destination of our spiritual journey. Every time we keep falling, failing and losing sight, he patiently waits for us to get back up. Every time we forget him, every time we forget that his plans would never hurt us, every time we wail, he gently prods us to show us that He is there. Every time we suffer because of our karmas and ask, “why me?” , He shows us that He takes the major portion of our suffering upon himself and says “me too”. He shows that there is no difference between Him and us, He endures our every suffering, and He is along with us in our every suffering. But how is it a suffering for Him, the all-powerful? Baba shows that that it should not be a suffering for us either, and it will not be, if we see how we are always connected to Baba and that we are but a part of Him. And when we merge in him, there is no suffering for us, there is no suffering for him, and there is no suffering at all. Baba bless.

Shirdi Sai Baba Answers questions n solves problems Shirdi SaiBaba saimandir.in
Shirdi Sai Baba Helps Always... in All Ways..
Shirdi Sai baba's Background
Although SaiBaba's origins are unknown, some indications exist that suggest that he was born not far from Shirdi. Historical researches into genealogies in Shirdi give support to the theory that Baba could have been born with the name Haribhau Bhusari. SaiBaba was notorious for giving vague, misleading and contradictory replies to questions concerning his parentage and origins, brusquely stating the information was unimportant. He had reportedly stated to a close follower, Mhalsapati, that he has been born of Brahmin parents in the village of Pathri and had been entrusted into the care of a fakir in his infancy. On another occasion, Baba reportedly said that the fakir's wife had left him in the care of a Hindu guru, Venkusa of Selu, and that he had stayed with Venkusa for twelve years as his disciple. This dichotomy has given rise to two major theories regarding SaiBaba's background, with the majority of writers supporting the Hindu background over the Islamic, while others combine both the theories (that Sai Baba was first brought up by a fakir and then by a guru).
SaiBaba reportedly arrived at the village of Shirdi in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, India, when he was about sixteen years old. Although there is no agreement among biographers about the date of this event, it is generally accepted that SaiBaba stayed in Shirdi for three years, disappeared for a year and returned permanently around 1858, which posits a possible birthyear of 1838.] He led an ascetic life, sitting motionless under a neem tree and meditating while sitting in an asana.  The Sai Satcharita recounts the reaction of the villagers: "The people of the village were wonder-struck to see such a young lad practicing hard penance, not minding heat or cold. By day he associated with no one, by night he was afraid of nobody." His presence attracted the curiosity of the villagers and the religiously-inclined such as Mhalsapati, Appa Jogle and Kashinatha regularly visited him, while others such as the village children considered him mad and threw stones at him. After some time he left the village, and it is unknown where he stayed at that time or what happened to him. However, there are some indications that he met with many saints and fakirs, and worked as a weaver; he claimed to have fought with the army of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
Shirdi Saibaba Settled in Shirdi
In 1858 SaiBaba returned to Shirdi with Chand Patil's wedding procession. After alighting near the Khandoba temple he was greeted with the words "Ya Sai" (welcome saint) by the temple priest Mhalsapati. The name Sai stuck to him and some time later he started being known as SaiBaba. It was around this time that Baba adopted his famous style of dress, consisting of a knee-length one-piece robe (kafni) and a cloth cap. Ramgir Bua, a devotee, testified that SaiBaba was dressed like an athlete and sported 'long hair flowing down to his buttocks' when he arrived in Shirdi, and that he never had his head shaved. It was only after SaiBaba forfeited a wrestling match with one Mohdin Tamboli did he take the kafni and cloth cap, articles of typically Sufi clothing.
For four to five years SaiBaba lived under a neem tree, and often wandered for long periods in the jungle in and around Shirdi. His manner was said to be withdrawn and uncommunicative as he undertook long periods of meditation. He was eventually persuaded to take up residence in an old and dilapidated masjid and lived a solitary life there, surviving by begging for alms and receiving itinerant Hindu or Muslim visitors. In the mosque he maintained a sacred fire which is referred to as a dhuni, from which he had the custom of giving sacred ash ('Udhi') to his guests before they left and which was believed to have healing powers and protection from dangerous situations.  At first he performed the function of a local hakim and treated the sick by application of Udhi. SaiBaba also delivered spiritual teachings to his visitors, recommending the reading of sacred Hindu texts along with the Qur'an, especially insisting on the indispensability of the unbroken remembrance of God's name (dhikr, japa). He often expressed himself in a cryptic manner with the use of parables, symbols and allegories. He participated in religious festivals and was also in the habit of preparing food for his visitors, which he distributed to them as prasad. SaiBaba's entertainment was dancing and singing religious songs (he enjoyed the songs of Kabir most).  His behaviour was sometimes uncouth and violent.
After 1910 SaiBaba's fame began to spread in Mumbai. Numerous people started visiting him, because they regarded him as a saint (or even an avatar) with the power of performing miracles. Sai Baba took Mahasamadhi on October 15, 1918 at 2.30pm. He died on the lap of one of his devotees with hardly any belongings, and was buried in the "Buty Wada" according to his wish.  Later a mandir was built there known as the "Samadhi Mandir".

#English 06.feb.23 A time may come when one becomes tired and weak, but one should then pray thus: “Lord, things have gone beyond my capacity. I feel further effort is too great a strain. Give me strength, O Lord!” At first, God stands at a distance, watching one’s efforts, like the teacher who stands apart when the student writes out answers to questions. Then, when one sheds attachment to sensual pleasures (bhoga) and takes to good deeds and selfless service, God comes encouragingly near. Like the Sungod (Surya-narayana), He waits outside the closed door. Like the servant who knows their master’s rights and their own limitations, He doesn’t announce His presence or bang on the door but simply waits. And when the master opens the door just a little, the Sun rushes in and promptly drives darkness out from within. When His help is requested, He is present by a person’s side, with hands extended to render assistance. So what is wanted is only the discrimination (viveka) to pray to the Lord and the spiritual wisdom (jnana) to remember Him. - Prema Vahini, Ch 11. #sathyasai #saibhakta #sathyasaibaba #saibaba https://www.instagram.com/p/CoV9j9fMKd9/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

SAI BABA of SHIRDI Says:
"Go where the reading of religious books is done. You will get satisfactory answer".
"Spend Rupees One Hundred in the name of SaiBaba.
A person has already started with the message that your work is done."
"Work will be done with the help of somebody else.
Your education is of no use here. Be humble to Sri SaiBaba".

chennai to shirdi flight packages
Preaching of sai baba
Shirdi Sai Baba is a very noble and highly developed Divine Spirit of God who took a human form more than 100 years ago and dwelled amongst ordinary souls in order to help them out of their meaningless existence. He made his philosophy very simple so that ordinary mortals can work upon themselves and get their ultimate salvation. Shirdi Sai Baba is a pure 'Avatar' (perfect soul) who could  have had anything but he chose ‘fakiri’(mendicancy) and through his conduct and adopted chennai to shirdi flight packages  lifestyle taught ordinary folks the art of loving, living, giving, sharing, caring, enjoying and achieving purpose of taking human body without being selfish. He taught us how we can be in this world and yet be detached from it and still achieve the purpose of taking human birth.
He came to GIVE and SPREAD message of universal LOVE, PEACE, HARMONY, EQUALITY and BROTHERHOOD transcending  all kinds of man-made boundaries which separate human from human. GOD is ONE. God is beyond religion. The God was manifest in his form. He called himself Messenger of God.
Hinduism considers the 'Brahman' (universal life force, energy, prana, chi) as the ruler of all, the ultimate One. Sai explained it easily – Barring your body and name, what is left is that feeling of being alive – this consciousness, awareness is You, the SELF. He advised the Believers to work on themselves. Meditate on the SELF (the consciousness) which existed in him and everyone alike in order to make them realise that we are not separate but one.
Thus God and Guru are One. Swami Vivekananda has explained it so well, “When any God or other beings are worshipped in and for themselves, such worship is only a ritualistic karma, and as a Vidya(Science) it  gives  us only the fruit belonging to that particular Vidya; but when the Devas or any other beings are looked upon as Brahman and worshipped, the result obtained is the same as by the worshipping of Ishvara (Supreme Divine)” Shirdi SaiBaba told us to destroy this wall(of ignorance) that separates US(the mortals) from HIM(the immortal Self) that exists within each tiny cell, atom around us.
Saibaba advised his devotees to pursue single pointed devotion. Worship and Believe in only One God. Look to your chosen deity as God. There should be no difference between the Lord you worship and the Supreme.  See your deity in all and all in your deity.  All objects of this world should be looked as the different forms of the Lord we worship.
He loved people of all religions chennai to shirdi flight packages  equally and never interfered with their practices and religious sentiments.  All he wanted that we should 'hold on' to the 'bolster' - the Lord we worship.  Have firm faith and conviction that your Lord is the Lord of Lords.  Respect all but stay stuck with your deity.  This attitude makes     things easy for us and takes us on right path of Bhakti Yoga (Yoga of Devotion and Love).  He always uttered 'Sabka Malik Ek' meaning there is only ONE God that people call with different names.
SaiBaba taught renunciation as means to make life simple. This renunciation is nothing but simply offering all the actions to GOD. Leaving off our cleverness and logic and wait and trust HIM for due results.
All the donations Sai received during day, he distributed the same throughout the day and by the end of the day his karma balance was zero. His attachment was NIL.
To achieve the prime object of life, HE advised us to develop Shraddha(Faith) and Saburi(Patience) in ourself, so that we can be free from the clutches of delusion(Maya) of this materialistic world which is holding us back life after life – separating us from our Source – the Creator – the Brahman.
Sai teachings were simple and yet so comprehensive - Perform the duties of the station of your life sincerely. Leave aside worry. Surrender yourself completely to the God and trust HIM with results. Have firm faith in God/Guru and wait patiently. Whatever happens is ultimately for our good  because DOERSHIP is not in our hands. HE knows what is good for us. Thus he is telling us that spiritual life is to be pursued over physical life.
His message still continues and though he is no more in human body but his spiritual existence and power is still being felt by millions. His followers are growing in numbers unceasingly. His following  eleven promises/ assurances still hold good provided his followers ACTUALLY believe and REALLY follow them with unshakable FAITH and PATIENCE.
 1. No harm shall befall him, who steps on the soil of Shirdi.
 2. He who comes to my Samadhi, his sorrow and suffering shall cease.
 3. Though I be no more in flesh and blood, I shall ever protect my devotees
 4. Trust in me and your prayer shall be answered.
5. Know that my spirit is immortal, know this for yourself.
 6. Show unto me he who has sought refuge and has been turned away.
 7. In whatever faith men worship me, even so do I render to them.
 8. Not in vain is my promise that I shall ever lighten your burden.
 9. Knock, and the door shall open, ask and it shall be granted.
 10. To him who surrenders unto me totally I shall be ever indebted.
 11. Blessed is he who has become one with Me.

Swami - The Myths Behind Hinduism
Tumblr media
Figure 1. Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Supernatural Being in Hinduism.
There are only so many names we can call an individual who might not be all human. How? In almost every religion there are god-like figures also known as supernatural beings; people that nature or science fail to justify. From Jesus in Christianity to Allah in Islam, it has brought about a community which believes that God comes in all forms, names, attributes, and assertions. With this, every religion has different myths that some might or might not believe in and might or might not be true.
“[Sometimes]…even “fictional” stories can reflect ways…[people] sees, visualizes, and experiences the real world” (Lundberg, 2017). I was raised as a Hindu and my parents taught me, through different narratives, that God does exist and in our religion, God came in many forms. In Hinduism, we have many supreme beings that bring luck, wealth, happiness, love and if we were to believe in them, our prayers will be answered. One of the incarnations of God I believe in, till date, is Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba also known as, Swami.
Swami was always full of love for everyone around him and at the age of 14, he discovered that he was the incarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba. He built schools, homes, hospitals, and universities, free of charge, to allow underprivileged people to lead a comfortable life. Babb (1983) said that “interaction with “Baba” is an experience and a highly vivid one…” (Babb, 1983). With that, I got the chance to see him in person during my visit to the temple in Puttaparthi, India where he resides and I was presented with the opportunity to seek his blessings. Ever since I’ve always believed that God does exist as I’ve personally experienced a glimpse of his power.
“Myths have this power to an outstanding degree because they are not just any story but are foundational stories that provide support and glimmers of understanding… [about various societies” (Tuan, 1991). With God being a myth to other individuals, I am blessed to have people in my life who led me to this wonderful path to believe that God exists.
The question now is, do you?
