D: tanned-savanna: i paid for it with my life h4ndyd4ndy: but ur not dead?? tanned-savanna: METAPHORICALLY, DOOFUS! I LOST THE PERFECTLY NORMAL LIFE I COULD'VE HAD JUST BECAUSE I WALKED IN ON AN IMPOSTOR! AND NOW I SHOULDER MY OWN DUMB MISTAKES WHILE HIDING AWAY IN SHAME OF HOW ILL I'VE BECOME! I DON'T THINK ANYONE COULD EVER STAND ME AFTER THAT STUPID IMPOSTOR GAVE ME A GASH THAT MADE ME BLEED WHOLE STREAMS OF BLOOD AND MADE ME INFECTED! BECAUSE OF THAT SCREW UP I ASKED A QUESTION I WISH I NEVER ASKED! NOW I HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE HORROR OF WHAT I'VE SEEN OVER AND OVER IN MY HEAD! tanned-savanna: And the worst part? Do you wanna know why I acted so crazy when you told me off, Purple? tanned-savanna: Nobody cares that I watched somebody die. Nobody cares that I watched one of my fellow crewmates get killed by impostors. Nobody cares that I've been attacked by an impostor and threatened to not tell ANYONE about it. People would look at me and call me insane if I ever told them what happened to me, how sick I am because of that gash, how hungry I was no matter how much I ate. Those teachers and students at school, they NEVER ask me what's wrong, am I okay, I promise I won't judge you if you talk to me, NO. They think EVERYTHING'S FINE with me and expect me to act like it all the time. The minute I start not acting like myself is when they tell me to "cheer up and don't look so down! Everything's fine don't look so frustrated why are you so upset for?" Oh, so I'm supposed to suck it up and take all the bullying and abuse thrown at me from some of my peers yeah uh-huh it doesn't even matter if I got straight A's on all the exams because the minute those teachers see me not acting like the perfect student they want to CORRECT THAT SO I'M LIKE THAT 24/7 even worse all my bullies were their favorite students so they get a free damn pass and made me look crazy and hysterical when I try to tell their teachers about how they hurt and made fun of me tanned-savanna: And now I've just received a DEATH THREAT from one of those damn impostors that killed in front of me, not too long after they tried to attack me in the vents. tanned-savanna: They say Tan is the color that always finishes last, don't they? That's why I tried to be so "popular" and stuff. Hah, it's so stupid and futile looking back. I bet no one would ever like me if they REALLY knew the disgusting beast I truly was. tanned-savanna: at least until someone changed my mind abt that h4ndyd4ndy: who? tanned-savanna:🦇 h4ndyd4ndy: OOOOHHH yeah orange!

tanned-savanna: yeah, he showed me that he understood where I was coming from bc he was treated that way too, more or less safety1st&2nd: I'm happy for you. No one asks to be treated as animals. I intend to avoid such treatment at all costs.

I almost lost it on this dad today, on my way to yuppie mom fitness class (yeah.)

he was just standing there, with a stroller blocking the intersection, on his phone. And I’m already in a shitty, aggro mood (not sleeping, rapid schedule changes, my naturally bad personality). But as sweetly as I can muster I say “excuse me” and wait for him to move.

but he doesn’t. He has his fucking AirPods in and is totally uninterested in the world moving and continuing around outside of his stupid apple devices. It’s too narrow to maneuver my own stroller, so I repeat myself twice with increasing shrill intensity. He finally hears me and moves (having the audacity to look surprised), but I’m so mad

I want to scream “spatial awareness?!” I want to scream “fuck you!!” I want to scream “English, motherfucker!! Do you speak it?!”

but then a miracle happens. Im reminded of another cinematic gem. The Room. My hero and yours, Johnny. “Do you understand life?? Do you?!”

and now I’m laughing maniacally, rage sweating poorly smeared sunscreen streaks of white across my face and chest, rage clutching the handle on the stroller we cheaped out on so that the shitty black foam is transferring all over my palms. Safety1st stroller bouncing erratically all over the 1970s pebbled sidewalk and jutting tree roots of 10th Avenue. Sane citizens moving out of my wake.

Waiting outside this trendy gym? “space”? (all of that and I’m too early), feeling stupid and out of place and guilty for even having the opportunity to spend an hour listening to a gleaming, positive instructor wearing a wraparound microphone, I step on a crack pipe. Nature restores itself

safety1st&2nd: For what? tanned-savanna: For dealing with rude ppl... especially those who don’t take the damn hint to leave you alone. safety1st&2nd: Where did it happen? tanned-savanna: I was using the vent systems to get around and I literally bumped into someone that I never wanted to see again. tanned-savanna: They harassed me, to put it lightly. They wouldn’t stop taunting me and reminding me of things I wanted to forget so badly. I tried to tell them to shut up and leave me alone but they threatened to make a ruckus and draw attention to me if I kept doing so. safety1st&2nd: Horrible. Just horrible. When did they leave? Did they ever leave? tanned-savanna: Not until I was a nervous wreck. Honestly I’m so surprised you’re willing to talk with me about this. I bet this sort of thing never happens to you... safety1st&2nd: Actually I’ve been cyberstalked before. tanned-savanna: HUH?!?!? safety1st&2nd: Believe it or not, it’s true. Stalking is a strong word but I used to keep getting clingy e-mails from someone I just met during a mission who was very insistent on dating me. They got on my nerves so much that when they tried to call me I broke my tablet throwing it against the wall and Lime had to fix it for me. I eventually changed my passwords to keep them out. So far it’s working. tanned-savanna: YIKES... now being treated like garbage doesn't seem so bad anymore safety1st&2nd: It's okay I've already taken care of that. I'm sure you can find a way to get this person to leave you alone, your best bet is to stay in crowds to keep them from trying to target you until you can find a way to deter them for good. tanned-savanna: But I've never actually set foot in MIRA since forever, even if I do I'm mostly foraging for food and swiping loose change at night. I don't think anyone will recognize me at all since it's been a long time since they've seen me. I don't think I'm even registered as active in MIRA's database anymore. safety1st&2nd: MIRA has literally hundreds of thousands of employees they need to manage around the clock. I'm sure people would be too busy to give you any trouble, plus they would offer you protection from your harasser because they likely don't know you or your whereabouts. tanned-savanna: Of course you're so knowledgeable... that's why you have it so easy safety1st&2nd: I don't. tanned-savanna: You're just saying that to make me feel better, right? safety1st&2nd: You have no idea how hard it was to get to where I am today. It took an emergency hospital visit, I might add. I'll die before I give up my job at MIRA and the friends I've made there, it's my only tether to feeling like I have a normal life. tanned-savanna: Damn... safety1st&2nd: That's a story for another time.
