The Best Practices for Safety Videos in the Oil and Gas Industry
The Middle East’s economy heavily relies on the oil and gas industry, which brings substantial profits but also carries significant safety risks. Working with high-pressure lines and equipment poses constant dangers to employees’ lives, with potential hazards including vehicle collisions, explosions, fires, falls, confined spaces, and ergonomic risks. So, how can we ensure their safety? The answer lies in effective training. It is essential to provide employees with comprehensive training that enables them to recognize and mitigate the safety hazards they encounter on the job. Merely communicating the risks verbally or providing written manuals is insufficient. Some individuals may not pay close attention or might forget the protocols over time. To ensure that workers retain vital information, visual aids are indispensable. Studies have shown that human minds retain visual content more effectively than text alone. Training becomes even more impactful when captivating visual techniques, such as animated videos, are employed. By leveraging engaging visual tools, companies can enhance the effectiveness of safety training and reinforce crucial knowledge among their workforce. Today we bring you the best safety practices for the Oil and gas industry and how you can enhance them with safety videos!
Collaborate With Local Emergency Community
To ensure a higher level of overall safety, it is crucial to establish strong relationships with local emergency response organisations and maintain consistent communication. Collaboration between emergency responders, rig hands, and safety professionals from exploration companies is essential to effectively utilise resources and respond swiftly to emergencies. By engaging in discussions specific health and safety hazards can be identified, and strategies for assistance can be devised. Offering emergency responders a tour of the drilling site or rig can provide them with valuable insights on how to approach potential emergencies. This proactive approach to cooperation and familiarisation enhances emergency preparedness and contributes to a safer working environment for all involved. And you can show it in a video too! Just like this one where we showed how local rescue teams are already on board for the mission “extract”!
A Safety Program That Unites
Promote a culture of open communication and mutual respect within the workplace. Foster a personal approach to safety training by providing opportunities for workers to connect and get to know each other. By dedicating time to facilitate personal connections, a sense of camaraderie and trust can be established among team members. These strong personal bonds will naturally contribute to improved safety in the field. When workers feel a genuine connection with their colleagues, they are more likely to look out for each other’s well-being and actively prioritise safety. Embracing this approach creates an environment where everyone is committed to maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
Worksite Familiarity
Before commencing work, it is essential to ensure that all individuals involved have a clear understanding of their roles, the existing hazards, and the necessary safety precautions. It is important to establish a robust system where procedures and hazards are effectively communicated to new workers during shift handovers and whenever there are changes in the work site. By emphasising the importance of comprehensive communication, you can ensure that all workers are well-informed and equipped to carry out their responsibilities safely and efficiently. This proactive approach enhances overall safety and minimises the potential for misunderstandings or oversight when it comes to workplace hazards. And this is exactly why you’d want your safety program to have custom-made videos, where workers see how their workplace functions.
Show A Unique Marking System
Enhance productivity and minimise waste by implementing a 5S system. Streamline operations by employing effective labelling techniques that guide, alert, and convey crucial information to workers. Utilise colour-coded systems to expedite the process of locating various materials, tools, and equipment within the workplace. This strategic approach not only optimises workflow but also promotes efficiency and saves valuable time. By employing visual cues and organisational methods, you can create a more streamlined and effective work environment, leading to improved productivity and reduced waste. If you have a marking system unique to your workplace, animated safety videos are a perfect way to show!
Implement A Machine Maintenance
Ensuring the safety and reliability of machinery is paramount when operating offshore rigs, where distance from shore poses unique challenges. To prevent untimely machine failures and prioritise worker safety, it is crucial to conduct routine maintenance checks. Effectively communicate the significance of regular maintenance to your workers by referencing OSHA maintenance activities outlined in the Oil and Gas Well Drilling and Servicing eTool. By adhering to these guidelines, you can proactively identify and address potential issues, safeguarding both your workers and the integrity of the machinery. You can use safety animated videos to instruct your maintenance team on their roles, purpose, and processes.
Make The Safety Videos Branded
By creating your in-house safety videos, you have the opportunity to uncover your unique perspective and narrative. What may be effective for other organisations may not necessarily resonate with your workforce. Through these videos, you have the freedom to choose the storyline and style that best aligns with your employees, ensuring a relatable and engaging experience. This personalised approach enables your workers to easily connect with the content, increasing their understanding and adherence to safety protocols. Embrace the power of in-house-made safety videos to effectively communicate your message and enhance safety awareness within your organisation.

Safety Animation Video for Oil & Gas
The oil and gas industry is crucial for the Middle East’s economy. Although highly profitable, this industry comes with numerous safety hazards.
Employees are required to work with high-pressure lines and equipment. Every minute they spend at the drilling or servicing site is a huge risk to their lives. They might face vehicle collisions, explosions and fires, falls, confined spaces, and ergonomic hazards. How to make sure they stay safe? Well, effective training is the only answer here.
Employees need effective training to recognize and control all the safety hazards surrounding them during work. Telling them about the risks verbally or giving them a manual is not enough. Some might not listen or read carefully, while others may forget about the protocols with time.
How to ensure that your workers retain all the necessary information? By using visuals! It has been proven that human minds can retain visuals more than text. The training becomes even more effective if the visual techniques you use are interesting, like animation videos.
A safety animation video demonstrating all possible hazards is the best way for oil & gas companies to train their workers. Continue reading to know why.
1. Grabs the Attention of Employees
Would you rather listen to a trainer, read long texts, or watch a movie to learn something? Most of you would choose to watch a movie over other options.
Employees are likely to zone out during those boring lectures on safety. A safety animation video can grab their attention through vivid graphics, thrilling sound effects, and interesting voiceovers. It allows the employees to learn without putting in much mental effort.
2. Conveys Complex & Dangerous Situations Easily
As mentioned earlier, the oil & gas industry involves complex and dangerous equipment. Accidents can happen due to several reasons. One way to beware your workers is to recreate the situation in front of their eyes. However, life-threatening situations cannot be recreated in real, right? A safety animation video can help you here.
Use a safety induction video to show the workers what happens when they don’t follow the safety standards. This way, your workers will be better equipped to prevent and handle life-threatening situations like machine malfunctions, fire emergency, and toxic contingency.

3. Presents Things That Are Invisible to the Eye
You cannot see things like air and gases in real life. Similarly, some oil & gas industry’s hazards, where employees have to work several meters underground, are not visible to the eye (for example, the waves coming from radio-active equipment). These hazards need more attention from the workers because they are more likely to go unnoticed. A safety video can bring such things to life to represent them more effectively to the workers.
4. Helps Workers Crunch More Information
“A picture is worth a thousand words. A video must be even more!”
With conventional training methods, you need more time to explain complex concepts. Plus, today’s short attention spans mean that the workers get distracted quickly. Therefore, you need to provide them with a way to learn as much as possible within a short time. This is exactly what an oil & gas safety video with interesting animations does! You can easily deliver all the information covered in a thick and long manual with a 2 to 3-minute video.
5. Demonstrates Zoom-in and Zoom-out Views
Some concepts need to be presented from different angles and dimensions. A safety animation video allows you to present objects with zoomed-in and zoomed-out views. It helps workers better understand the related concepts and remember them more effectively.
For example, the machinery involved in oil & gas extraction is complex, consisting of numerous parts. A safety animation video enables you to display cross-sections of machinery and cut-outs of products with a better emphasis.
6. Provides Continued Access
People carry their smartphones with themselves all the time. Therefore, animated videos are a training tool that stays with the workers everywhere. Plus, watching a video does not take up much of their time. Therefore, they can see the videos whenever they are free. Going through the information multiple times at their convenience allows them to remember things more effectively.
7. Cost-Effective than Most Methods
You should not worry about budgets when it comes to the health and safety of your workers. However, why not avail the chance to train them more effectively without spending a fortune? Real-life demonstrations or videos can be very expensive, time-consuming, and difficult to arrange. On the other hand, a safety video is cheaper to produce, and they allow you to explain the same concepts and situations even more clearly.
8. Adopts Story-Telling Technique
Who doesn’t love stories, right? Learning the dangers and threats to their lives can be overwhelming for the workers. A safety animation video is a less intense way to train them for safety. You can create hypothetical characters to which your workers can relate. The animation video’s story-telling technique makes the training even more interactive.
Final Words
The oil & gas industry holds a lot of risk for the field workers. Dangerous machinery, chemicals, and vehicles put their lives at risk every second. Therefore, it is legally and ethically binding for the oil & gas companies to provide their workers with effective training. Those boring lectures and long manuals just don’t work anymore! Animated videos have taken over the safety training now.
An oil & gas safety video allows workers to retain important information more effectively. Plus, its making does not cost much compared to real-life demonstrations or live-shoot videos. Also, oil & gas companies can explain complex situations and concepts more easily using animations.

Cautionary Tale on Carbon Monoxide
So, for the last 2 weeks or so my smoke alarm/carbon monoxide alarm has been beeping sporadically. I paid it no mind because there was no smoke, nothing was burning and I did not think it could be anything else. I assumed the alarm or batteries were going bad because they had been here forever ago.
So, we changed the batteries and bought a new alarm, and installed them through the house a week ago. The beeping stopped. However, a few days ago while I was cooking the beeping came back. Again, no smoke in the home and nothing was burning. We are searching trying to figure out why it keeps going off.
I constantly have my essential oil diffuser plugged in and running so some searches came back saying certain essential oils might set off the alarm if strong enough and my 16-year-old has been fear rubbing herself with Citronella essential oils(repellent for mosquitoes) because whenever the door opened these new breed mosquitos fly in and she is terrified if her face and body looking like a swollen pepperoni pizza🙄😂. (The concerns of a 16-year-old who was looking out for her upcoming first day of school face card status lmao)
Finally, after some YT videos and Google searches, we began to suspect it was beeping because of carbon monoxide. So we hurry and get out of the house, food still on the stove half cooked, and wait for the gas/electric company to come to investigate and fix the problem.
When the tech comes he walks inside the house and instantly the machine he carried to check the PPM set off a reading of 41. This level is highly dangerous and prolonged exposure can result in health risks and possibly death.😳
He continued to walk through the house and found pockets in the house where the PPM was 38-41(still dangerous). He goes into the kitchen and instantly says, I see your problem. He goes to the stove and points to my favorite, can't live without have used almost every time I cook 11" Copper Chef casserole pot and says this is the culprit.
Apparently, the size of the pot covers my entire burner so there is no ventilation happening under the pot which is bad. He then points to another favorite pot on the back burner and says this one is also bad because of the size of the pot. He turned on the fire under the Copper Chef pot and instantly his machine went up to 144 PPM😳.
I was appalled. He asked about how we all were feeling and asked who the cook in the house was and of course it was me✋🏽. I felt fine. I usually always have headaches and feel tired, he said I could be suffering from long-term carbon monoxide exposure and should go to the hospital to be sure.
To make this longer story just plain ol' long, I say all of this to caution you guys on pot sizes for your gas stove burners and to say it could be the things/ways you least expect.
Tips from the gas/electric company tech
-Make sure your pot is not bigger/wider than your burner flames.
-Turn on your overhead vent or open your kitchen windows when cooking for either or both of these: 1) If your pots are bigger than the burner flames or 2) To take an extra level of safety.
-If you are using bigger pots try to open closet doors throughout your home because the carbon monoxide can creep into the closed closet and remain there for hours.
-In your gas using ovens do not have any liners or protectors(the ones you put down to prevent spills or drips as you bake) on the bottom of the oven if they come anywhere near the two ventilation slits in the oven(where the flames/heat rises).
-If you have done all of the above and constantly feel lightheaded, dizzy, persistent headaches, fatigue, sleepiness, be safe and just get it checked out in the ER or Urgent Care.
Be safe out there y'all. Carbon Monoxide is known as a silent killer.

The Best News of Last Week
Welcome to Feel Good News! Each week, I scour the web to bring you a collection of uplifting and positive news stories. My goal is to provide you with a dose of inspiration and hope to start your week off on the right foot.
This week, I have stories about individuals who are making a difference in their communities, companies that are doing good in the world, and much more. I hope you enjoy reading these stories as much as I enjoyed putting this newsletter together.
Let’s start with:
1. FDA Plans to Allow More Gay, Bisexual Men to Donate Blood
Gay and bisexual men in monogamous relationships would be allowed to donate blood without abstaining from sex under guidelines being drafted by the Food and Drug Administration, people familiar with the plans said.
The change would be a departure from U.S. policy that for many years barred men who have sex with men from donating blood. The FDA policy originated in the 1980s during the AIDS epidemic, when tests for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, weren’t considered sensitive enough to protect the blood supply.
2. Biden-Harris Administration Makes $50 Million Available to Clean Up Orphaned Oil and Gas Wells on Tribal Lands
There are several thousand orphaned oil and gas wells on Tribal lands, jeopardizing public health and safety by contaminating groundwater, seeping toxic chemicals, emitting harmful pollutants including methane, and harming wildlife. Some of these wells are underwater, which creates an especially high risk of adverse impacts.
3. Golden bandicoots 'breeding rapidly' in the NSW outback 100 years after becoming locally extinct
The first golden bandicoots have been born in NSW's far north-west in 100 years, after formerly being extinct in the region.
Golden bandicoots have been breeding rapidly in Sturt National Park since being introduced to as part of the Wild Deserts project. There are initiatives in place as part of the project to protect native fauna from feral animals. More native species are set be reintroduced to the area and will be confirmed next year.
Cue the Crash Bandicoot references :D
4. Toledo Zoo welcomes twin polar bear cubs
Twin polar bear cubs were born at the Toledo Zoo, the zoo announced Thursday. The parents of the twin cubs are 24-year-old female, Crystal, and 18-year-old male, Nuka.
Crystal’s eighth and ninth cubs’ genders are unknown at this time. They are estimated to make their public exhibit debut in the spring of 2023.

5. A Philadelphia woman collects thousands of stuffed animals and brings them to seniors who are in need of a Christmas gift
Santa Claus isn't the only person who travels around with a vehicle full of toys. Every holiday season, Patricia Gallagher fills her car with stuffed animals and drives around Philadelphia. She doesn't give them to kids, she gives them to seniors.
"Who would think that elderly veterans would want stuffed animals? But they did," Patricia Gallagher said of the project.
6. 150 sea turtles saved from the cold. An aquarium in Boston has been treating "cold-stunned" sea turtles stranded on US beaches.
An aquarium in Boston has been treating "cold-stunned" sea turtles stranded on US beaches. Experts urge the public not to return stranded animals into the water.
Over 150 sea turtles have received treatment this season for "life-threatening medical conditions" prompted by hypothermia in the New England Aquarium, based in the US city of Boston.
7. 'No K-pop on a dead planet': Meet the K-pop stans taking on the climate crisis
What does Kpop4planet do?
Nurul a 23 year old fan from Indonesia and her colleagues have channeled most of their energy into six different climate campaigns. Over 33,000 fans from 170 countries have taken part in them.
The most successful of these has been ‘No K-pop on a dead planet’. It called for K-pop albums to go green by selling digital rather than physical albums, minimizing the packaging and encouraging low carbon performances.
The movement has proved popular with the fandom. For Kpop4planet work two full-time employees along with 20 volunteer ambassadors from nine countries. The group is funded by Action Speaks Louder, a charity registered in Australia who lobby to hold big companies accountable for their climate change promises.
. . .
That’s it for this week. If you liked this post you can support this newsletter with a small kofi donation:

The controversial Brussels-based YouTuber YaNike has again been arrested. The decision by an examining judge means the influencer is now in pre-trial detention. According to Brussels media outlet Bruzz YaNike offered resistance during a house search. Two teargas sprays were found. After his release in January, YaNike continued to publish videos harassing people on Brussels local transport and in the street.
YaNike was arrested on Tuesday 27 August. The Brussels public prosecutor's office says he was detained after his release in January for continuing to post videos showing how he harasses people on the streets in Brussels and pours sludge over people on the metro. ‘The videos show that it’s mainly vulnerable people who seem to be his victims prosecutors note.
Offered resistance
The Brussels public prosecutor has now added additional charges to the file. Based on these new elements, an examining judge ordered a search of the suspect's home. During the search, YaNike allegedly resisted the police and two teargas sprays claiming to contain ‘anti-aggression gas’ were found. The judge proceeded against YaNike for non-compliance with the conditions of his release, abusive treatment, unruly behaviour, possession of prohibited weapons, deliberate beating and injury, destruction of public property and distribution of dangerous-looking substances.
Go to jail
The examining judge also decided to hold YaNike in pre-trial detention as his actions pose a threat to the public's perception of public safety.
Last January, the Youtuber was detained for publishing videos in which he smears a mixture of oil, leaves and dog faeces over passengers on Brussels public transport. A court then decided to release him under strict conditions, but these were conditions that he almost immediately violated.

That Guy helped clean for one day but then went back to refusing to do anything but play video games.
There's still guest-cleaning to do, and I'll have to knock it out before work. I think vacuuming the downstairs should be good enough, though I haven't checked Son's bathroom which is also the guest bathroom, yet, and it probably needs more work.
I also forgot to do the guest room sheets yesterday, I was so worn out. They're in the wash, now.
Then I have gas station work today.
That Guy said the outfit I picked out for the interview and hair and makeup looked good; both appropriate and on me. I don't know why that one website said the dress code was business formal, black, white, grey. Other than the security and police on site who were in full uniforms, everyone else was wandering around in jeans or slacks and polos or simple blouses. Everyone contracted from Goodwill gets a special overshirt they have to wear around, too. That kind of sucks, actually. It looks bad.
I am still VERY unhappy with how the hair spray dried out my hair. I'll have to not wash it for a couple days, let the natural oils reasaturate the strands, and hope that'll be good enough to make it happy again. If not I'll have to try a masque or something. I can't tolerate the texture of my hair being Wrong.
Mail room blather:
I am a little disappointed that it's not an actual mail room, like when I was in the army I would go get the mail, bring it back to the battalion, process any paperwork like package slips, sort the mail into mail boxes, etc.
That's what I was excited about when I saw the job posting. This job is not that.
She said she's looking for both a backup truck driver which I said I'm willing to try but can't guarantee I can drive the big truck (I did not mention the whole auto-accident related PTSD thing...), and a backup manager which of course that wouldn't be expected until I'd been there for a while and was very familiar and comfortable with the processes involved.
So they will go get mail and bring it back, but then the job is to do safety checks like I said, which was a part of it when I was in the army (there was an anthrax scare at the time and we had to take extra precautions etc. so at least I did already get that training), and to open packages and inspect the contents. I guess from there cleared mail gets passed off to someone else to be distributed or maybe representatives from the various departments come to get it or something. I would learn that later. Part of the job is making sure threatening letters don't make it to their intended targets.
She also said there is a LOT of downtime. So much downtime. Some people quit because they get so bored they can't take it. I can bring in a tablet or my phone and watch movies there's that much downtime. I'm not sure if I can be online and bothering you all, though, and am not permitted to take photos/videos in the mail room.
I can take projects, though, so it would be a good time to work on rehairs and the like.
It's kind of funny that I'd be going from being sedentary with no income to being over-worked at the gas station for very few dollars, to being sedentary again just not at home for ok dollars. $30k isn't a lot, here. The cost of living here is surprisingly high vs the population because we're close to DC. But it is a lot for doing not much, you know?

what I find interesting & frustrating is that every time some rich fuck(s) with all the available resources at their fingertips completely & entirely ignore every aspect of safety, regulation, protocol, etc. in literal pursuit of money (source: the article about the CEO's goals of working with oil/gas companies), there's always going to be a group of people being like "we have to be the bigger person, thoughts and prayers" when none of these people give a shit about any one of us. in a time when the wealth gap feels bigger than ever, homelessness & poverty is on the rise, during massive inflation & a recession after a global pandemic that told us no one in power gives a fuck about you, who is this compassion for? yes they're human, yes everything about this is horrifying, but these people willingly walked into a death trap & paid 250k to do so! I have to wonder why is it always on us to "be kinder, have sympathy for another human being" but I never hear this directed at a billionaire from the same crowd scolding us "jealous broke haters" & when does it end? if/when we reach irreversible climate change, when ppl lose their jobs/homes/wages, when ppl die in a warehouse during a tornado so some guy can make more money than they can spend in a lifetime, is that crowd still going to be like, "well those billionaires are human beings, have some respect"? anway I don't personally blame anyone who finds the jokes distasteful but the "thoughts and prayers" crowd isn't any more morally superior imo, we're all doing the same thing, which is posting our opinions online which doesn't do anything to help (or not help) find the carbon fibre can piloted by a $40 video game controller
exactly ^^^
Also this is not something that is going to go away. As technology evolves and we are able to travel to these places that we couldn’t have before (like the bottom of the ocean or space) you better believe that the ultra wealthy are gonna be right there with the first ticket to explore new places and cease opportunities that will not be given to the vast majority of the rest of us
like the CEO of oceangate Stockton Rush had absolutely no intention to offer his technology to regular people like us. In a previous interview he said that his ultimate goal was to start creating ways for humans to explore and live in the ocean where you can live in safety from the above world environment and climate changes inevitable damage. but this dream (if it somehow ever happened decades in the future) was meant for the wealthy only. people who could pay millions and millions of dollars to “live underwater” and away from harm.
It’s the same thing as Elon Musk’s dream of building some space colony by the moon or whatever. You think that’s going to open to everyone? Of course not- only the super wealthy will get to cease these opportunities. Only the wealthy will get to be saved from the environment that they destroyed. and therefore the wealthy will continue to die in the most bizarre situations imaginable like maybe on a spaceship to see the moon years from now (I’m calling it right now) or in a tin can at the bottom of the ocean to see the titanic

Mutinous Russian mercenaries who surged most of the way to Moscow have agreed to turn back to avoid bloodshed, their leader said on Saturday, in a de-escalation of what had become a major challenge to President Vladimir Putin's grip on power.
The fighters of the Wagner private army were just 200 km (125 miles) from the capital, said the leader, former Putin ally Yevgeny Prigozhin. The rebels had captured the city of Rostov hundreds of miles to the south before racing across the country.
"They wanted to disband the Wagner military company. We embarked on a march of justice on June 23. In 24 hours we got to within 200 km of Moscow. In this time we did not spill a single drop of our fighters' blood," Prigozhin said in an audio message.
"Now the moment has come when blood could be spilled. Understanding … that Russian blood will be spilled on one side, we are turning our columns around and going back to field camps as planned."
The decision to halt further movement across Russia by the Wagner group was brokered by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in return for guarantees for their safety, his office said. There was no immediate word on the deal from Putin.
Earlier, Prigozhin said that his "march for justice" was intended to remove corrupt and incompetent Russian commanders he blames for botching the war in Ukraine.
In a televised address from the Kremlin, Putin said Russia's very existence was under threat.
"We are fighting for the lives and security of our people, for our sovereignty and independence, for the right to remain Russia, a state with a thousand-year history," he said, vowing punishment for those who "who prepared an armed insurrection".
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said the Wagner revolt exposed complete chaos in Russia.
"Today the world can see that the masters of Russia control nothing. And that means nothing. Simply complete chaos. An absence of any predictability," Zelenskiy said in his nightly video address.
Video obtained by Reuters showed troop carriers and two flatbed trucks each carrying a tank driving 30 miles (50 km) beyond Voronezh, more than half way to Moscow. A helicopter fired on them near Voronezh.
More than 100 firefighters were in action at a fuel depot ablaze in Voronezh. Video footage obtained by Reuters showed it exploding in a fireball shortly after a helicopter flew by.
Further along the road, video showed, vehicles apparently placed as barricades to slow Wagner's advance had been tossed to one side.
Prigozhin, whose private army fought the bloodiest battles in Ukraine even as he feuded for months with the military top brass, said he had captured the headquarters of Russia's Southern Military District in the city of Rostov without firing a shot.
'WILL THERE BE CIVIL WAR?'
In Rostov, which serves as the main rear logistical hub for Russia's entire invasion force in Ukraine, residents milled about calmly, filming on mobile phones as Wagner fighters in armoured vehicles and battle tanks took up positions.
One tank was wedged between stucco buildings with posters advertising the circus. Another had "Siberia" daubed in red paint across the front, an apparent statement of intent to sweep across the breadth of Russia.
"Will there be civil war?" a woman in Rostov asked the mercenaries who took over the city. "No, everything will be fine," a fighter answered.
The region surrounding Rostov is an important oil, gas and grains hub.
In a series of hectic messages overnight, Prigozhin had demanded that Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and the chief of the general staff Valery Gerasimov should come to see him in Rostov.
'SIGNIFICANT CHALLENGE'
Western capitals said they were closely following the situation in nuclear-armed Russia. U.S. President Joe Biden spoke with the leaders of France, Germany and Britain, while Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke to counterparts from G7 nations.
The top U.S. military officer, Army General Mark Milley, cancelled a scheduled trip to the Middle East because of the situation in Russia.
The insurrection risked leaving Russia's invasion force in Ukraine in disarray, just as Kyiv is launching its strongest counteroffensive since the war began in February last year.
"This represents the most significant challenge to the Russian state in recent times," Britain's defence ministry said.

Importance of Safety Induction Video in Building and Construction Sites
The ever-growing construction industry sees a lot of fatalities. Only in 2017, there were 2.674 worker fatalities in the private construction industry, and this number is rising. Hence there’s a growing need of maintaining a safe construction site.
So establishing a safety culture is of paramount importance.
The fastest and best media used for worker safety education are videos!
Here at Studio52, we’ve been creating construction safety videos for plenty of clients from the UK, the Middle East, and the world.
And today we want to touch on the importance of using these to build a safety culture in your construction business.
Why Safety Matters
Safety risks and hazards seem to be constant when it comes to this industry. Workers often get in trouble not because of the lack of safety tools, but of not using them! If you want to keep workers focused on safety, you need to employ a more effective way of doing safety training!
Accidents not only take lives and cause injuries, they can cost you business, raise your operational costs and cause fines and limitations when it comes to legal issues. This is why it’s imperative to raise safety in your construction business.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration or OSHA provides a standard framework you have to obey as an employer to ensure the maximum safety of your employees. Apart from other regulations and rules, OSHA mandates that your workers should be properly educated to follow its requirements as well.
So, let’s see how those videos can help!
What Is A Safety Induction Video?
These videos provide a virtual walkthrough of different standards and safety protocols you are currently applying in your operations. These videos are sometimes mandated by law, but they’ll lower the risks of injuries and ensure worker health and well-being!

What is SAP Work Clearance Management (WCM), and how does it enhance workplace safety?
SAP Work Clearance Management (WCM) is a specialized module of SAP that deals with the safety of the workplace during maintenance and operational activities. It provides tools for managing safety-critical processes such as work permits, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and risk assessments. With the integration of safety measures directly into maintenance workflows, SAP WCM minimizes risks to personnel, equipment, and the environment.
WCM improves workplace safety by introducing a structured approach to managing hazards. For instance, WCM requires users to document and assess potential risks before starting maintenance work. Work permits are issued only after it is verified that all necessary safety measures are in place, and the system tracks these permits throughout the lifecycle of maintenance.
The module also allows for the identification and isolation of hazardous energy sources through LOTO procedures, thus ensuring that equipment is safe to work on. Through digitization and centralization of these safety processes, SAP WCM reduces the possibility of human error, streamlines operations, and ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Q2: What are the key components of SAP WCM, and how do they work together?
Answer:
SAP WCM comprises three key components:
Work Clearance Documents (WCDs):
WCDs constitute the core of SAP WCM, which is for work permit management. They show all the information about what work is to be conducted, safety measures, and approval workflows. WCDs ensure that all security measures are followed before working on a site, allowing for a clear record from start to finish.
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO):
The LOTO component focuses on managing hazardous energy. It allows users to identify energy isolation points, apply lockout devices, and document the process to prevent accidental energy release during maintenance. This ensures that equipment remains in a safe state throughout the work.
Risk Assessment:
Risk assessments help in determining the potential hazards that may be faced in the maintenance process of the organization. This module allows the identification of possible risks and their severity levels and, thus, provides the required mitigation measures. Usually, risk assessments are tied to work permits to complete a holistic safety plan.
These components work together to produce a seamless safety management system. WCDs are directly linked to LOTO procedures and risk assessments, so that the entire aspect of safety is taken into consideration before, during, and after maintenance. This integration makes compliance simpler and enhances overall safety performance.

Underwater fiber cable dominate international voice calls and data traffic transmission. This article will share some knowledge of underwater cable.
What is Underwater Fiber Cable?
Underwater optical cables are optical cables laid underwater across rivers, lakes, beaches, etc. The laying environment conditions of this type of optical cable are much worse than pipeline laying and direct burial laying. Fortunately, the structure of underwater optical cables is strong. And it can withstand disasters such as seawater erosion and marine earthquakes. It has high stability and reliability. In order to meet the needs of international voice calls. The transmission speed of underwater optical cables is generally very high. It can transmit tens of TBS of data per second. Another feature of underwater optical cables is that they are highly concealed and are not easily intercepted or interfered with.
How does underwater fiber cable work?
Underwater cable have a multi-layer steel wire or steel belt armor structure. According to the hydrogeological conditions of the river, the structure of the inner and outer sheaths also needs to be considered. Toem can provide customized underwater optical cables according to your needs. For example, in rocky soils, scouring seasonal riverbeds. Fiber optic cables are subject to wear and high tension. Not only thick steel wires are required for armoring, but even double-layer armoring is required. The construction method should also be selected according to the river width, water depth, flow rate, riverbed, flow rate, river soil, etc.
Advantages of underwater cable
Most fiber optic cables are installed by overhead, pipeline and direct burial. However, when it comes to places like rivers, lakes and beaches. The traditional method of laying optical cables will require a lot of optical cables and installation costs. Underwater cable connect both ends by laying underwater. Which perfectly solves this problem. It saves a lot of fiber optic cables and simplifies the laying. In addition, since the fiber optic cable is under rivers and lakes. It will not be affected by wind and most animals on the ground. In addition, underwater cables have high transmission capacity, high reliability, high safety, long service life and low maintenance costs. Underwater fiber cable have good anti-extrusion properties. Because its armor is heavy, it provides the cable with better tensile strength. Strong anti-interference ability and good confidentiality.
