10 Benefits of Implementing SAFe in Your Organization
In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, organizations are under pressure to deliver value faster, adapt to changing markets, and foster innovation at scale. The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) has emerged as a leading solution for enterprises seeking to scale Agile practices across multiple teams and departments. Implementing SAFe certification within your organization is more than just a badge of honor—it’s a strategic investment that delivers measurable business outcomes. Here are the top 10 benefits of adopting Implementing SAFe certification in your organization:
1. Alignment Across the Organization
SAFe certification ensures that every team, department, and leader operates with a shared understanding of goals, roles, and processes. This unified approach eliminates chaos and confusion, enabling everyone to work toward common business objectives and reducing miscommunication.
2. Improved Time-to-Market
By streamlining workflows and eliminating inefficiencies, SAFe enables organizations to deliver products and services to the market significantly faster. Certified teams leverage Program Increments (PIs) and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to plan, execute, and release with speed and agility—often improving time-to-market by 30% to 75%.
3. Enhanced Collaboration and Communication
SAFe promotes cross-functional collaboration, breaking down silos and fostering teamwork across departments. Certified professionals are equipped to facilitate better communication, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Increased Productivity
Organizations implementing SAFe certification report productivity improvements ranging from 20% to 50%. By optimizing workflows and empowering teams to focus on high-priority tasks, SAFe helps organizations do more with less.
5. Superior Product Quality
Continuous integration, testing, and quality assurance are at the heart of SAFe. Certified teams are trained to catch defects early, reduce rework, and consistently deliver high-quality products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations.
6. Better Risk Management
SAFe’s structured approach to planning and execution allows organizations to identify and mitigate risks early. Enhanced transparency and real-time visibility into project progress help leaders make informed decisions and address issues proactively.
7. Higher Employee Engagement and Morale
SAFe empowers teams with autonomy and accountability, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement. This not only boosts productivity but also enhances job satisfaction and employee retention.
8. Stronger Customer Focus
SAFe certification trains teams to prioritize customer needs and respond quickly to feedback. This customer-centric mindset leads to higher satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term business success.
9. Greater Return on Investment (ROI)
By reducing waste, improving efficiency, and accelerating delivery, SAFe delivers measurable ROI. Organizations see increased revenue, cost savings, and a decisive competitive edge as a direct result of SAFe implementation.
10. Future-Proofing the Organization
In a hyper-competitive, ever-changing market, agility is not optional. SAFe-certified organizations are better equipped to innovate, adapt to disruptions, and stay ahead of the competition by fostering a culture of learning and adaptability.
Conclusion
Implementing SAFe certification in your organization is a transformative step that drives alignment, accelerates delivery, and builds a resilient, customer-focused culture. The benefits are clear: higher productivity, better quality, improved morale, and a stronger bottom line. As more enterprises embrace Agile at scale, SAFe certification stands out as a proven path to sustainable business growth and long-term success.

Photos from Facebook from a guy who teaches a storm class here in Oklahoma.
Wrapping up Twisters opening weekend with one more behind the scenes memory.
In April, 2023, we were approached by the Twisters production office about doing a storm spotter class for the cast and crew. As we talked about the class, I asked them if they wanted 1) a storm spotter class; 2) a weather class with info to help actors with their roles in the movie; or 3) a tornado safety class to help everyone new to Oklahoma in springtime. The answer was yes - we want all three.
On May 3rd, 2023, we hosted nine of the cast and nine crew members for the training. It didn't really have a name, but I've heard someone refer to it as Tornado Bootcamp or Tornadoes 101. We started around 8am and it lasted two hours.
I covered Oklahoma tornado culture to illustrate how big of a deal tornadoes are to the people who live here, covering everything from Saturday siren tests to IPAs named after weather terms to TV meteorologist drinking games and bingo cards to storm anxiety and PTSD. I talked about the Twister effect, which saw meteorology school enrollments double or triple in some cases after Twister came out. I did some basic storm spotter training and a little severe weather meteorology, and wrapped up with tornado safety (including a slide illustrating how it was not safe to shelter under a wooden bridge or by strapping yourself to a pipe using screen grabs from Twister.)
The class was very interactive. Daisy Edgar Jones and Glen Powell sat front row center and Daisy had her notebook and took notes the entire time. I got really good questions from the class and I could tell they were genuinely interested.
We followed up the class with an extended tour/visit to SPC and the WFO, with a lot more great questions and discussion. We ended the visit talking vehicles and technology with Sean Waugh. I think some of them would have stayed all day if they had been able to.

File: Pikmin - Water Wraith
SCP#: AJT
Code Name: Second Piece of the [data expunged]
Object Class: Neutralized
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-AJT remains where contained at Site-AA within one of the Keter Storage Units in the lower levels. Only Site Director James, Administrative Staff, and AFA-3 units to the design of Site Director James command are allowed in this level.
The remains of SCP-AJT are stored in a frequency isolation box that is placed inside a safe with a Cavafy Reality Concealment Engine to prevent anyone who is not within the Foundation from comprehending its existence. Only Site Director James and anyone she has approved is capable of comprehending its existence with a specialized drug that only lasts for 5 hours. Anyone not on her personal list that has this drug in their system is to be executed, there will be no exceptions.
Description: SCP-AJT at the time of activation was a strange blob-like monster that took on the form of a short and bald humanoid. However, it originally did not stand like a humanoid but instead placed its arms and legs at the ends of two cylinder-like stones. It seemingly uses these stones specifically to crush tiny creatures. What makes SCP-AJT even more anomalous is that despite being physical, it seems to be connected to another reality. Anyone in our reality can see, hear, and interact with it but none of our scanning technology is able to detect its existence. Not even a Hume level scanner can detect its presence. How this is possible is not well understood.
Though it is believed to be related to its connection to the [Data Expunged by Order of the O5 Council], which is an Entity of Interest recently labeled as a Level 5 Threat. SCP-AJT was confirmed to be related to this entity when it was discovered to have great hostility to SCP-AEK. A notable trait to all entities related to the [Data Expunged by Order of the O5 Council] is their small size and great hostility towards SPC-AEK.
SCP-AEK was discovered in 2004 after Site Director James took the SCP-AEK instances out for training. She took them to an area where there was an abundance of SCP-AEW-Alpha and Omega instances reported. She went there with a personal MTF security guard that seemed unnecessary but was insisted on by the O5 Council. Her SCP-AEK instances successfully managed to kill all the SCP-AEK instances however suddenly from the water SCP-AJT appeared and nearly wiped out the SCP-AEK instances due to no one paying attention and their scanners not going off. Shockingly all Site Director James had to do was stomp a lot and SCP-AJT was quickly weakened long enough for her security to take the cylinder stones SCP-AJT rolled on. Afterwards her SCP-AEK instances were able to easily kill what remained.
“Okay I know that was anticlimactic but let me remind you we have evidence that the [Data Expunged by Order of the O5 Council] exists and destroyed the world at least once. It started off weak but because everyone ignored it, it became something too big to handle. So I don’t care what anyone says, I’m not underestimating this thing or any of the anomalies it creates and if you guys do then your all, fucking idiots! Sorry, got a little too into it there, but seriously, I don’t know what the [Data Expunged by Order of the O5 Council] is yet, but I WILL destroy it even if it turns out to be just an angry screaming water drop.” -Site Director James.

Fun facts with mod!
(Some will just be reiterating already mentioned things and some will be new, this is just a fun excuse to ramble)
PINK
-Pink is 632 physically and mentally in eir early 30's.
Eir birthday is April 13th (1332 for anyone curious) and 300 physical years roughly translates to 15 mental years
Pink is 9ft tall and generally wears men's dress shoes over heeled footwear.
-Pink is colorblind! Specially blue/yellow colorblind (tritanopia) (and a funny thing is the only color from Icelandic's color palette Pink can see clearly without eir color blindness interfering is their teeth)
And slightly nearsighted but that's a recent development and ey often forget to wear eir reading glasses (they have to tape them on same goes for sunglasses and ey hate it)
-Pink's flesh (ex. Arm, tentacles, etc.) tastes faintly like roses. (Roses are an edible plant, I don't believe magnolias are edible and also other lore reasons why roses)
There blood also has been described as being akin to pepto bismol (namely in color and consistency but it also is helpful against stomach issues if ingested) Pink will also willingly allow others to have eir blood for this is asked, as long as it's to help you and not nefarious (Pink has to know you first, not a stranger)
-Pink knows some magic, but it's very limited and ey aren't keen on practicing more then they know. What little they do know is tied to blood and spoken words.
Dahlia is an example of Pink's use of magic.
-Pink often hides most of their inhumane traits for others comfort (and eir own discomfort to be open about such things) Additionally Pink has slowly been opening up about said traits and hiding them less.
EX. Pink can hide eir tentacles and sometimes do for aesthetics or comfort when a seat/space doesn't have enough space for all four. Pink used to hide them completely.
Other examples include Pink's primary mouth, their stomach mouth and mandibles (...the corsets serve a purpose with this, eir vest is also reinforced as one)
Eir claws (generally reacted) and feet (ey have weird clawed buggy feet) this also includes eir chittering.
-Pink is genderqueer, Trans neutral (ey have had top surgery and trained emself to speak at a lower pitch, and do to magic spc rock no longer suffer periods)
Demi-romantic (REDACTED and Icelandic are the only ones ey have ever loved romantically so far)
And Asexual (neutral/indifferent)
As well as demi-queerplatonic and an-aesthetic (and Pink is SURPRISINGLY not demi-sensual ey just are bad at asking for or giving physical affection without being prompted (....it's the autism))
And ey have a label for eir attractions so ey simply use unlabeled or queer (for eir romantic and queerplatonic attraction)
-Pink lived with high standing nobles during eir youth till young adulthood and was more of a show of status as an exotic find meant to show class and status and was expected to act like the average young lady (despite no one knowing what Pink was genderwise cause ey aren't human, exceptions were made)
Pink was childhood friends with REDACTED before getting away and gaining a life of eir own with REDACTED who became eir fiance years later (REDACTED was trying to court em for 200 years)
-Pink can not be trusted to cook or bake, ey can make tea (including making it from plants ey grow), do prepwork and make dishes that can be served raw or don't require cooking. But any attempts at cooking/baking end up... .inedible and often various forms of new bricks and/or one with the item used to try to cook/back them.
Dahlia has tried for decades to help em, its a general rule no one trusts Pink without supervision to try to cook/bake safely.
-Pink can sew in a pinch but it looks terrible and only gets the job done, nothing more. Ey can also garden, mostly flowers and herbs, as well as candle making and flower pressing.
-Pink relationship with eir former partner and ex-finance REDACTED could be described as toxic Yuri. (Yes REDACTED uses he/him pronouns, he's not a man and Pink's genders funky, they were toxic yuri. (And yes I have silly descriptors I use for Pink and Icelandic and Pink and Wildcard))
-Pink is autistic. Pink suffers insomnia when under extreme stress and can stay awake for days with ease but prefers to sleep as much as humans generally do.
Ey have extreme sensory issues with glitter, sand and dust, ey dislike being near it and having it on them will trigger sensory overstimulation and panic. (Ey also aren't fond of spicey things for sensory reasons.)
Pink has a major sweet tooth but also eats sweets and tea as 'sensory safe' things and generally drinks tea as a routine for this reason. Pink also will bite things to stim and is especially fond of Popsicles (sweet or meat ones, ey chew on them with eir hidden jaw)
-Pink has a license to affiliate marriages (ey got it for when Dahlia and Sugartwist wanted to get married)
Dahlia is unofficially one of Pink's children despite its title of proxy.
-Pink has a pet orchid mantis named orchid (Pink is also based on an orchid mantis emselves.)
DAHLIA
-Dahlia is mentally in its early-mid 20's and died when it was 19. (Dahlia is over 100 years old)
It is 6'3. (6'5 with its heeled boots.)
-Dahlia has ptsd and still struggles with being around raw meat, sharp teeth, meat being eaten or anything crunchy like popsicles and bones,, as well as yelling and the cellar/meatlocker.
It has slowly gotten used to being comfortable around Pink (it has long since accepted eir countless apologies and trusts and respects them greatly despite occasionally still being triggered around em....slow progress)
-Dahlia is a Trans woman, androromantic and apothisexual. (Dahlia is allromantic.) Dahlia is also a bit of a hopeless romantic when it comes to it's husband, Sugartwist.
-Dahlia is an excellent baker and loves to bake, it is unable to eat but enjoys making sweets for others it cares for to enjoy (it does not question it's husband's cannibalism as a living sweet eating sweets) and it enjoys helping Pink with cleaning and acting as a babysitter if needed.
-Dahlia's candle head was made by Pink after it's human head was (REDACTED) And it is scented like vanilla and cinnamon.
-Dahlia NEVER takes its gloves off around strangers, or most people for that matter. It prefers to keep its hands, neck and feet hidden from view (it lost its humanity decades ago....there's bound to be physical proof of the horrors magic couldn't fix so late after)
-Dahlia can not die unless Pink dies (....unless something interferes with the magic stabilizing it's 'life') so should Sugartwist die before it, it has an agreement in place with Pink to be put to sleep and not be woken so it won't have to live without its husband. Preserved to sleep, possible to awaken but not planned to be.
-Dahlia approves of Icelandic much like Pink had approved Sugartwist for it.
...it doesn't know how to feelabout Wildcard.

Bringing this back ahead of the bad storms today and tomorrow (03/14/25-03/15/25). If you're in the Midwest, South, or Ohio Valley, you need to have an eye on the weather and ideally a way other than your phone to get weather alerts (highly recommend a Midland weather radio; set it up to alarm for what you care about).
There's a risk of large (EF2 or greater) long track (20+ miles) tornados today but mostly tomorrow in some of these regions. Some of the risk will be overnight when people are sleeping. The SPC is discussing issuing a historic high risk zone (5/5) tomorrow for the Deep South which only happens once every 5-10 years.
Which is all to say, please check the weather and please tell the people you know and care about in these areas to do the same.
Bonus Info/Tips
If you don't have access to the weather channel or local broadcasting (which is a lot of us), I highly recommend Ryan Hall Y'all on YouTube. Max Velocity also seems good and runs live streams as well.
Don't see any watches yet? Check out the SPCs mesoscale discussions page - this is where you'll see the likelihood of watches getting issued sometimes hours ahead of them going live.
Waiting for a watch/is there a watch in your region? Then your local NWS page is the best place to refresh.
As storms approach, be sure to turn on that radio/have it set up to alarm for tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings if it's able.
Why severe storms too? Because in tornadic weather severe storm warnings will be issued for super cells and line segments that already have damaging winds/hail and often will tell you in the warning itself whether the segment has the potential to spawn a tornado - it gives you more time to get to a safe place.
Especially if you're in these enhanced (3/5) to high (5/5) risk areas, there's a chance you'll be hearing the NWS's event tags. A lot of people don't understand these yet so let's talk about them.
PDS stands for Particularly Dangerous Situation. It is not a strict category, but generally refers to weather threats that are abnormally destructive for an area and/or could impact a large number of people. Watches and warnings can get this tag. Its can be used for any type of weather event.
You might hear this get used today - PDS Severe Thunderstorm Watch - as there's a risk for a derecho to form which can cause structural damage to buildings and significant hail damage which will absolutely require you to take cover. Derechos can down healthy trees and pull roofs off of buildings.
You might hear this get used tomorrow - PDS tornado watch/warning - as there's a sizeable risk for EF2+ and long track tornados tomorrow. These types of tornados can flatten houses or clear them off their foundations. They can pull trees clean out of their roots and toss cars like candy wrappers. They can carry debris for many many miles. These are not the tornados you're used to seeing in these areas. As a child, I lived through an F3 tornado and coming out and seeing the damage is seared into my memory.
Please take them seriously. Go to the safest room in your house. You'll want to try to cover you or your family with a mattress or similar if you've got it. Use helmets if you have them. If you have a baby, bring their car seat into the shelter area and put them in it if you receive a warning. It is designed for impact protection.
There are other events tags than PDS - like considerable and catastrophic - they'll be included in the warning language itself and will tell you the specifics they're concerned about and what they recommend you do. This is why it's helpful to receive the warnings themselves, not just the fact they've been issued.
Are you safe? Do you see downed trees or hail? Consider reporting it to the SPC under Storm Reports. Its generally not recommended you report funnel clouds or tornados unless you've gone through training (like Skywarn). Its very easy to mistake a shelf cloud and other scary looking clouds as funnel clouds. I recommend the training though, very helpful.
Feel free to ask me questions if you need help developing your safety plan. If I don't know the answer, I'll tell you and try to direct you toward a resource that can help.
Stay safe out there friends.
What To Do In Tornados
I’ve lived in tornado country pretty much my whole life and to be honest they still freak me out. I also remember how anxiety inducing it was when I first moved out and had to deal with them on my own. So like a message in a bottle to my former self, I wanted to compile what I’ve learned over the years in a skimmable format in case there’s anyone else out there today who could use it.
Difference between a watch and a warning?
Tornado watch means you have time; think of a wrist watch. Tornado warning means one is incoming, no more time. This is the one I use to remember it.
Or if you prefer the Weather Channels very memeable explanation - tornado watch means you have taco (tornado) ingredients - picture a taco bar. Tornado warning means you have a fully assembled taco (tornado). This is what my partner uses.
So there are possible tornados in the forecast:
Make a plan about where you’ll go if you get a warning. It should be the most interior room in your house, well away from any windows. Here we have a walkout basement and I go to the most interior part of it. When I was in an apartment, the most interior room happened to be my bathroom and hallway. If you live in a dorm or other communal setting, they should have a plan in place so make sure to find out what it is.
Take pictures of your rooms and car in the event you need to file an insurance claim. Having pictures of what you own, it’s condition is helpful for filing insurance claims if you need to. Especially if you’re a renter. This is easiest to do when there’s no storms in your area so you aren’t nervous or pressed for time.
Make a power outage plan. A lot of the threat that comes with tornados is not from the tornados themselves but the damaging straight line winds around the tornado. Whenever there’s high winds, there’s a chance to lose power. Consider how you’d eat, drink, go to the bathroom, and stay warm in the event of a power outage. Less necessary but still helpful - consider how you’ll entertain yourself, especially if cell towers go down or you need to conserve your phone battery. Consider what chores - like laundry or dishes - would be good to have out of the way before hand.
Grab snacks and food that doesn’t need refrigeration. If you’re able to make a grocery store run, grab some food you can eat that is shelf stable and doesn’t require cooking. A good rule of thumb in my experience is three days worth. Most power outages I’ve been through have been fixed in that time and you can more safely evacuate then if you need to go somewhere with power. If you’re like me and have a lot of food allergies (gluten, dairy, soy) - consider baking items ahead of time that can keep well at room temperature like cookies, scones, and breads.
So you’ve been issued a Tornado Watch:
Check the forecast; you might have lots of time before the storms will be in your area or you might have very little.
Make a plan if you haven’t already. Or check your building’s plan if you live in a dorm or communal setting.
Make sure everyone involved knows the plan. Don’t assume people you’re with know. I have made that mistake before.
Charge your phone and electronics. If you don’t currently have a thunderstorm in your area, go ahead and charge your phone, power bank, flashlights, and anything else you’ll want to take with you your safe spot.
Gather supplies to take with you to your safe spot
Minimum:
Shoes
Phone
Form of ID*
Leash/Harness/Cage for pets
Explanation of minimum:
Shoes are important because if you need to evacuate, there’s likely broken glass and other things on the floor that can injure you. If you can’t safely move through it, then people will have to come escort you out which means waiting longer + more risk.
Phone is important for calling for help and receiving alerts. Also many can double as a flashlight in a pinch.
*ID is helpful accessing emergency housing and medical services if you have to leave your home. If your ID doesn’t list your residence or you don’t have/want to have ID documents on you for safety reasons, consider grabbing a copy of your lease or some mail addressed to you there. You can still access services without this, it just helps speed stuff up.
Keeping pets on a leash or cage helps keep them safe in the event you need to evacuate with them.
If you can:
Tote bag
Helmet
Flashlight
Power bank + cord
Weather radio
Water bottles
Some pet food + bowl
Snacks
I put all my supplies in a little tote bag. It’s my storm tote (conference bag I’m never gonna use for anything else).
Helmet is pretty self explanatory. One more way to keep your head safe in case anything falls on you.
Flashlights help you move around your house if it’s safe to stay in if the power goes out. In the event your house is unsafe, it helps you safely evacuate. If you’re trapped, it helps you signal for help.
Power bank + cord helps you recharge your phone if the power goes out. When you’re checking alerts and watching streams, the battery can deplete quickly.
Weather radios of any kind is helpful. Cell service often goes out so the way you’ll get your information then will be primarily through radio. If you’re reading this not in a watch and want to get one, look for ones that will wake you up if there’s a warning in your area. Midland has several. I have a small Sony radio I take with me to my safe spot.
Water bottles are helpful because they’re highly portable and in the unlikely event you get trapped in your house, you’ll have water to keep you hydrated while help gets to you.
Pet food is so you can feed your animal without leaving your safe spot since warnings can last a long time. I’ve seen some areas be warned for 1-2 hours before if a storm is slow moving enough. But it’s also so you’ll have some food for them in the event you need to evacuate.
Snacks are similar to pet food. It’s you food. Just helps you shelter in place.
So you’ve been issued a Tornado Warning:
Put on your shoes
Put pets on harnesses and a leash or in a cage
Go to your safe spot and don’t come out until the warning has expired
Especially if the warning is PDS or has some other enhanced tag, try to bring something to cover your head and body with - like a mattress. A thick blanket is better than nothing in a pinch.

Scaling Agile: Adapting the Framework for Large Organisations
Agile methodologies have revolutionized project management, enabling teams to deliver value quickly and adapt to changing requirements. However, while agile is well-suited for small teams and projects, scaling it to large organizations presents unique challenges. In this blog, we'll explore how organizations can adapt agile project management principles using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), emphasizing the importance of scaled agile framework training for successful implementation.
Understanding the Challenges of Scaling Agile
Scaling agile to large organisations introduces complexity and requires overcoming various challenges:
Coordination and Alignment
Large organisations often have multiple teams working on interconnected projects. Ensuring alignment and coordination across these teams is essential for achieving overall organisational goals.
Maintaining Agile Principles
Scaling agile can dilute agile principles, such as collaboration, transparency, and customer focus. It's crucial to preserve these principles while adapting to the needs of larger-scale projects.
Cultural Transformation
Scaling agile requires a cultural shift within the organisation, including a willingness to embrace change, empower teams, and foster collaboration.
Introducing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a proven framework for scaling agile practices across large organisations. It provides a comprehensive approach to aligning strategy, execution, and delivery at scale.
Key Components of SAFe
Lean-Agile Principles: SAFe is built on lean and agile principles, emphasising continuous improvement, delivering value, and empowering teams.
Agile Release Trains (ARTs): ARTs are self-organising teams aligned to a common mission, responsible for delivering value in a specific timeframe, typically 8-12 weeks.
Program Increment (PI) Planning: PI Planning is a cadence-based, face-to-face event where teams plan their work for the upcoming Program Increment, ensuring alignment and coordination.
Lean Portfolio Management: SAFe guides aligning strategy and execution through lean portfolio management practices, enabling organisations to prioritise and fund initiatives based on their strategic objectives.
Benefits of SAFe
Improved Alignment: SAFe facilitates alignment across teams and ensures everyone works towards the same goals, reducing conflicts and improving efficiency.
Faster Time-to-Market: By breaking down work into smaller increments and aligning teams, SAFe enables organisations to deliver value faster and respond to market changes more quickly.
Enhanced Quality: SAFe emphasises continuous integration and testing, leading to higher-quality deliverables and fewer defects.
Empowered Teams: SAFe empowers teams to make decisions and take ownership of their work, increasing motivation and engagement.
The Role of Scaled Agile Framework Training
Implementing SAFe requires a deep understanding of its principles, practices, and roles. Scaled Agile Framework training provides individuals and organisations with the knowledge and skills to adopt and implement SAFe successfully.
Key Training Offerings
SAFe Agilist (SA) Certification: The SA certification provides an overview of the Scaled Agile Framework and its principles, preparing individuals to lead agile transformation initiatives.
SAFe Practitioner (SP) Certification: The SP certification focuses on the practical application of SAFe principles, equipping participants with the skills needed to work effectively in a scaled agile environment.
SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) Certification: The SPC certification is designed for experienced agile practitioners who want to lead and coach agile transformations at the enterprise level.
Benefits of Scaled Agile Framework Training
Enhanced Competency: Scaled Agile Framework training equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to effectively implement SAFe within their organisations.
Improved Collaboration: Training brings together individuals from different teams and departments, fostering collaboration and alignment.
Accelerated Adoption: Training accelerates the adoption of SAFe by providing a common understanding of its principles and practices, reducing resistance to change.
Overcoming Challenges in Scaling Agile with SAFe
While SAFe provides a comprehensive framework for scaling agile, organisations may encounter challenges during implementation:
Resistance to Change
Resistance to change is common, especially in large organisations with established processes and cultures. Effective change management strategies and leadership support are essential for overcoming resistance and fostering buy-in.
Siloed Mindsets
Silos between departments and teams can hinder collaboration and alignment. SAFe encourages cross-functional collaboration and provides mechanisms for breaking down silos, but it requires concerted effort and commitment from leadership.
Lack of Executive Support
Successful implementation of SAFe requires strong executive sponsorship and support. Leaders must understand the benefits of scaling agile and actively champion the transformation effort.
Conclusion: Scaling Agile with SAFe for Organisational Success
In conclusion, scaling agile to large organizations requires a structured approach and a deep understanding of agile principles and practices. The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) provides a comprehensive framework for scaling agile, enabling organizations to align strategy, execution, and delivery at scale. Scaled Agile Framework training is crucial in building the knowledge and skills needed to implement SAFe and overcome challenges. By embracing SAFe and investing in training, organizations can unlock the full potential of agile and drive innovation, collaboration, and value delivery at scale.

If a sheikh supported the ISF, we distributed CERP. If the ESB destroyed a building, we gave fair comp. If the 03s shot a civilian, we paid off the families. That meant leaving the FOB, where it's safe, and driving the MSRs.
I never wanted to leave the FOB. I never wanted to drive the MSRs or roll with 03s. PFC did. But me, when I got 3400 in boot camp, I thought, Great. I'd work in an office, be a POG. Be the POG of POGs and then go to college for business. I didn't need to get some, I needed to get the G.I. Bill. But when I was training at BSTS, they told me, You better learn this, 3400s go outside the wire. A few months later, I was strapped up, M4 in Condition 1, surrounded by o3s, backpack full of cash, twitchiest guy in Iraq.
I did twenty-four missions, some with Marine 03s, some with National Guardsmen from 2/136. My last mission was to AZD. A couple of Iraqis had driven up fast on a TCP. They ignored the EOF, the dazzlers and the warning shots, and died for it. I'd been promoted to E4, so PFC was taking over consolation payments, but I went with him to give a left-seat right-seat on working off the FOB. PFC always needed his hand held. In the HMMWV it was me, PFC, PV2 Herrera, and SGT Green. Up in the turret on the 240G was SPC Jaegermeir-Schmidt, aka J-15.
There wasn't a lot to look at on the MS south of HB. We scanned for all the different types of IEDs AQI would throw at us. IEDs made of old 122 shells, or C4, or homemade explosives. Chlorine bombs mixed with HE. VBIEDs in burned-out cars. SVBIEDs driven by lunatics. IEDs in drainage ditches or dug into the middle of the road. Some in the bodies of dead camels. Others daisy-chained together-one in the open to make you stop, another to kill you where you stand. IEDs everywhere, but most missions, nothing. Even knowing how bad the MSRs were, knowing we could die, we got bored.
PFC said, "It'd be cool to get IED'd, 'long as no one got hurt."
J-15 snapped, said, "That's bad juju, that's worse than eating the Charms in an MRE."
Temp was 121, and I remember bitching about the AC. Then the IED hit.
PV2 swerved and the HMMWV rolled. It wasn't like the HEAT trainer at Lejeune. JP-8 leaked and caught fire, burning through my MARPATs. Me and SGT Green got out, and then we pulled PV2 out by the straps of his PPE. But PV2 was uncon-scious, and I ran back for PFC, but he was on the side where the IED hit, and it was too late.
PFC's Eye Pro cracked and warped in the heat. The plastic snaps on his PPE melted. And even though J-15 left his legs. behind, at least he got CASEVAC'd to the SSTP and died on the table. PRP had to wash PFC out with Simple Green and peroxide.
The MLG awarded me a NAM with a V. Don't see too many 3400s got a NAM with a V. It's up there next to my CAR and my Purple Heart and my GWOT Expeditionary and my Sea Service and my Good Cookie and my NDS. Even 03s show respect when they see it. But give me a NAM with a V, give me the Medal of Honor, it doesn't change that I'm still breathing. And when people ask what the NAM is for, I say it's so I don't feel bad that I was too slow for PFC.
In boot camp, the DIs teach you Medal of Honor stories. Most recipients were KIA. Their families didn't get a. homecoming, they got a CACO knocking on their door. They got SGLI. They got a trip to Dover to see Marines lift the remains out of a C-130. They got a closed casket, because IEDs and SAF don't leave pretty corpses. The DIs tell you these stories over and over, and even a POG like me knows what they mean.
So I tell my family, "I'm staying in-the G.I. Bill can wait." And I tell my OIC, "Sir, I want to go to OEF. OEF's where the fight is now." And I tell my girlfriend, "Okay, leave me." And I tell PFC, "I wish it'd been me," even though I don't mean it.
I'm going to OEF. As a 3400. As a POG, but a POG with experience. I'll distribute CERP again. I'll roll with 03s again. And maybe I'll get IED'd again. But this time, out on the MSRs, I will be terrified.
I will remember the sounds PFC made. I will remember that I was his NCO, so he was my responsibility. And I will remember PFC himself as though I loved him. So I won't really remember PFC at all--not why I gave him low PRO/CONs, not why I told him he'd never make E4.
Instead I will remember that our HMMWV had 5 PX. That the SITREP was 2 KIA, 3 WIA. That KIA means they gave everything. That WIA means I didn't.
