Finally finished my quilt inspired by the Sadal Suud island from Baten Kaitos! It was a pain and a half to quilt on my small domestic machine but i wuv it very very much.

Sadal Suud has a very cosy, homey feel to me, and that's what I tried to evoke with the palette choice. I could have gone with a simpler pattern to fit that tone, probably squares, but I really wanted to make these big striped hexagons, so I did, and I'll just say that it fits Sadal Suud because Sadal Suud is of course more sophisticated than the Empire believes. Its capital is nicknamed "the Jewel of the East", after all!

the quilt was mostly inspired by the starting village of Cebalrai, the farming hamlet, and the first dungeon, Moonguile Forest.

I chose lots of forest-y fabrics, as well as fabrics that contain reminders of what I think of when I think of Sadal Suud, like Cebalrai's famous mountain apples, the lovely greens of the forest and warm colors of the harvest.

The upper-left fabric features red apple trees for apples of Cebalrai and their game inspiration - the mountain apples once added to your inventory

the right-most, dark blue fabric, with its tiny stars and moons, is here both for the "Moon" in Moonguilt, and because a project about an island from Baten Kaitos wouldn't be complete without a reference to stars! also it's a good fit for the constellation magnus, on the right, the first of which you find in Moonguile.

There's a lot more to Sadal Suud and what happens there than what I chose to focus on, but I wanted to keep the representation of the starting island simple, fitting its reputation. I wanted to find a fabric featuring the blue birds as a nod to their place in the quests, but couldn't find any that I liked and that fit the rest of the project, so I left it out (and also didn't put anything for the Nunkirantula, or really any of the water, which is more of a Diadem thing for me!).

I am in fact incredibly pleased with how it turned out, despite it being ✨very badly sewn indeed ✨.

Kapag ikaw ang kanyang kasama, wala siyang pangamba. Ikaw ang kanyang pahinga sa malupit na mundo, at para sa’yo, iyon ang pinakamahalaga.

“Palagi,” pabulong mong sagot sa pasasalamat niya.

Pero hindi ka nagkaroon ng lakas ng loob upang ilahad ang iyong tunay na nararamdaman. Naging kuntento ka na sa inyong pagkakaibgan.

Habang tuluyan nang lumubog ang araw at ang mga bituwin ay isa-isa nang kuminang, nakaramdam ka ng matinding bugso ng emosyon — tuwa, lungkot, pag-ibig, at takot. Hanggang dito lang ba? Paano kung hindi ka nya gusto higit pa sa isang kaibigan? Paano kung may iba s’ya magustuhan at mahalin? Paano kung mawala siya sayo?

Maraming gumugulo sa iyong isip pero isinantabi mo ang mga ito at itinuon ang atensyon sa kasalukuyan, kung saan siya ay nasa tabi mo habang inyong pinagmamasdan ang mga tala at ang buwan. Nais mong namnamin ang mga sadaling kasama mo siya, panghawakan, tulad ng isang kayamanan na iyong iingatan sa iyong puso’t isipan.

Habang pinapanood ninyo ang pagkutitap ng mga bituwin sa kalangitan ay isang bulalakaw ang mabilis na dumaan, dahilan upang kayo ay magkatinginan. At sa sandaling iyon, tila nakita mo sa kanyang mga mata ang isang hindi maipaliwanag na nadarama ng kanyang puso. Iyon ba ay pag-asa? O pag-ibig na rin kaya? Hindi ka sigurado, pero nagbigay ito sayo ng sapat na lakas ng loob. Baka, parehas kayo ng nararamdaman. Baka, pwede kayo maging higit pa sa magkaibigan.

Dragon Ball Super idea involving Universe 6

.Frieza is starting to build his empire again conquering different planets, one of his Frieza force member lands on Namek not knowing the history of what happened there before. Grand Elder Moori contacts earth since they've helped with frieza before and they go to New Namek. They beat Frieza's minion and Vegeta notices the armor he is wearing and asks what he was doing, out of fear he tells them that he was out looking for a new planet for Frieza to conquer. Frieza hears on the scouter what has happened and he had no intention to go to new Namek just yet. Angry at that minion he gets an interdimensional call from Frost who was able to contact him through universe 6 Dragon Balls and offers a proposal. He says "during the tournament of power you said never trust anyone, but I have something you might find interesting" as he maniacally laughs. Intrigued by this Frieza gives in to the ruise and gives frost a listen, he claims that ever since the tournament of power he has been given freedom in his universe and has been slowly growing his empire, he claims that he has been training and gotten stronger and that he plans on destroying Plant Sadal home of the Sayins. Knowing how much Frieza despises the Sayins based off his claims during the tournament he offers Frieza a partnership where they team up and conquer universe 6 and 7. Frieza of course agrees to this but has an alternative idea in mind, he plays along with Frost like he did in the tournament of power and teams up with him for the time being. Goku hearing what Frieza minion said tries locking onto Frieza ki signiture to instant transmission to him, he found it and as he was about to go to him, Frieza's energy signal disappears. Using universe 6 dragon balls frosts brings over Frieza. Goku is confused and thinks nothing of it and tells them that he's lost Frieza's energy, Vegeta angry at Kakarot decides to look for it himself but couldn't find it either. They figured he suppressed his energy. They go back to planet Earth and tell the gang what has happened. Time passes by and whis and beerus arrives to planet Earth telling Goku and Vegeta that Champa and Vados has a message for them. Vados says "Champa is greatful to universe 7 for bringing our universe back from being erased and because of that he wishes to relay a piece of information to universe 7 warriors, notibaly the Sayins" Champa is mad at Vados for saying what she says but brushes it off and exclaims "Ahem, we don't care for mortal affairs but it has come to my attention that your universe's counterpart to frost has made his way here and they're currently working together to look for the Super Dragon Balls, not only that but they are planning an all out attack on Planet Sadal while conquering other planets as well" Destrot by the information Vegeta asks whis if he can help them go to Universe 6 and whis kindly helps. Figuring that they'll be dealing with a army bigger than ever and not knowing what they'll face Bulma suggests taking some of earths warriors and that she is joining as well as she can help locate the super dragon balls. Whis agrees and they head to Universe 6 and meets up with Champa, Earth warriors aren't familiar with universe 6 so they must travel to Planet Sadal on a spaceship. Bulma asks whis "Hey aren't you guys coming" and whis claims "this is a mortal affair after all we brought you here out of kindness but by no means do we plan on helping you guys, y'all are on your own with this one" Beerus and Whis stays on Champa's planet while earths warriors travel to Planet Sadal. On their way they see a planet up in flames and see many of Frieza's and Frost's army in space ships landing on different planets, as earths warriors look outside the window of their spaceship they see one planet destroyed right in front of their faces. The race is on to find the super dragon balls and save planet sadal, and thus starts the Universe Destruction Saga.
