Hi is it okay if you write a story about baby branch and Floyd
It sure is 😊
Remember (a Trolls fanfic)
Dear Diary,
It’s been a pretty quiet evening at home so far, and I guess there’s a few reasons for that. For one, I guess it’s no secret that I’m the quietest among my brothers (they say I should assert myself more, but I find that I can’t - it’s just the way I am 0.0). Also, my older brothers aren’t here at the moment, and the bro that IS here is sleeping on my lap (it’s a little hard to write right now, but I can manage). I’m guessing you’re probably wondering where exactly my older brothers are. Well, John Dory is out running some errands with Grandma, so they’re hitting the grocery store and a few other places (plus, JD DID say he was going to try and get supplies for some new costume ideas he has planned for us and our band, BroZone).
Spruce is out on a date. He ran another one of his competitions, and the winner this time around is a girl named Doreen. I’ve seen her around town a bit, and she seemed very excited to be able to be with him. As for Spruce… I don’t think I could really say the same :( But, regardless, they were heading out to Senior Frosty’s. A lot of us like to go down there for some sweet treats (personally, I think Grandma’s stuff is the best, but they’re okay too ^_^). Spruce’s favorite is the Tropical Sunset sundae, which is an ice cream that I think is made from vanilla, with some kind of fruity syrup and chunks of pineapple on top. It sounds pretty tasty, but my personal preference is the strawberry delight (an underrated flavor, but delicious nonetheless!)
Clay headed off to another one of his sad-book club meetings. He’s sorta told me about them before, but I’m a little nervous to go to one, if I’m being honest. If it’s about sad books like he says, I’m probably gonna be in tears the whole time! I guess I’ll just have to make sure that I pack a lot of tissues when I do get the chance to accompany him :)
That leaves me and Branch, like I mentioned before. We had some fun with all kinds of activities around the house.
We frosted some sugar cookies that Grandma had baked earlier in the day (Branch got a little messy with the decorating, but he didn’t mind). We played some games (the usual - hide-and-seek, tag… freeze tag) and sang some of our band’s songs together. I’m very proud of him. Even though he’s only a couple years old, he’s got a great falsetto going. Golden! I can tell he’s going to be an amazing singer one day, and I can’t wait for him to start performing with us. John Dory thinks he’s ready, too. A few days ago, he actually suggested that we should start arranging for our first tour. Spruce and Clay agreed, and it’s going to be so exciting!
As Floyd tapped his pencil to his chin, pondering what to write down next, the light weight on his lap began to shift. He immediately put his journal down, and watched admiringly as Branch cutely yawned and stretched.
“Hey, Branch,” he cooed softly, stroking his brother’s delicate little cheek. “Did you have a good nap?”
The baby blinked up at him, rubbing the sleep out of his large blue eyes and grinning his sweet little one-toothed grin. “Uh-huh!”
Floyd chuckled and ruffled his rich blue hair. “That’s good.”
“What did you do, Floyd?” the small Troll asked curiously.
“Oh, I was just writing in my journal,” he said, showing him the book that he’d placed at his side.
“Ohhh,” Branch mused, cocking his head. “Can I see it?”
“Sure thing,” Floyd replied fondly, opening it up and allowing Branch to flip through the pages.
“I write all kinds of things in here,” the magenta-haired Troll explained while the baby stared in wonder. “Ideas, stories, wishes… but do you know what my favorite thing to write about is?”
“What?” Branch asked, his eyes twinkling with interest.
“All the stuff I do with you, and our brothers.”
“Wow! Really?”
“Definitely,” Floyd answered. “That way, when we want to remember something special, it’ll all be right here.” He gave him a little side hug that Branch happily leaned into with a giggle. Then, the little blue Trolling thought of something else.
“Do you write songs in there, too?”
Floyd nodded. “Yeah, I do.” Then he smirked. “But you know, I’ve been having a little trouble trying to finish the one I’ve been working on. Do you want to help me?”
His baby brother’s face lit up. “Yeah!”
And, as he and Branch made another cherished memory - harmonizing together and creating wonderful new melodies - Floyd made sure to recall every little detail of their experience so, in that way, he could notate it in his journal for them to always remember.

pretty sure you’ve talked about this already so many times so if you don’t want to keep talking about it no worries!!
but this Logan/Kimi swap thing BAFFLES me. Yes, Logan should have improved more by now. I really feel for him because it’s clear that he’s trying to improve and just can’t figure it out for some reason. Plus the team’s bizarre switch from “we resigned Logan because we believe in him” to what appears from the outside to be a lack of support. But i agree he won’t be on the grid next year.
But at the same time it’s idiotic for the FIA to approve the dispensation because then the rules are essentially meaningless. It’s idiotic for Williams to take on an underprepared driver (because as talented as Kimi might be, there’s no way he’s adequately prepared for F1 right now) when part of Logan’s issues were due to being underprepared. If this kid gets eaten alive then merc will have thrown away so much potential. Genuinely I think there’s an incredibly high chance no one wins here. Maybe it all works out, but it seems like a hell of a risk just because you’re worried that he might sign elsewhere.
anyway excuse the rant lol just read the new chapter and so intrigued 👀 hoping lando comes thru for you this weekend <3
No I could go for DAYS.
I wouldn’t blame the team for replacing Logan mid season. It’s incredibly difficult to score points at the bottom and you need to be running two cars. Williams have been fighting one handed. Logan is just not cut out for this, that to me is clear. I am so curious why they resigned him, I guess because they didn’t have any other options from their academy, but the way they seem to have absolutely had enough of him is sad. To hear him on the radio calling himself a “dumb fuck” is horrible. It’s all hard to watch. It’s giving Red Bull.
I don’t understand the Kimi thing. They made this rule because they didn’t want any more children in F1. How would they just throw that out the window because someone asks? And not even for a kid who has a wealth of experience. He’s driven what? 18 months in actual cars? The FIA will out themselves as a complete joke if they say yes. I guess Williams will be saying “we will put him in the day he turns 18 if you say no so you may as well say yes it’s 4 months early”, but I think they have to stick to their guns and say not a day before the 18th birthday.
I don’t have an issue with him being in the car. Maybe he’s another Max, maybe he’s not. Regardless, I think if he is good enough, he will show something. And if he doesn’t, then he doesn’t, there will be others who come up through the feeder series who do. I don’t put a lot of stock in preparedness beyond physical fitness. Another few months of driving F2 where the cars are very slow, very different set up wise, and honestly where the racing is kinda just a free for all is probably not going to prepare him any better than he is now (considering how few F2 races there actually are as well). I think talent shines through. Logan might have done better with more prep but he probably never would have been Oscar. And yes Kimi is underprepared, but the best prep you can get is just to drive, so if Toto really is planning to put Kimi in the Merc seat, this is the smartest way to get around the rules about testing. Because that’s all it’ll be, is testing. He can sit in the Williams for half a season and get his bearings, go to Merc and get his bearings again in 2025, and by 2026 he would be an incredibly well prepared driver. IF that is how Toto decides to approach it, and not expect results from Kimi. I actually do see the merit in it. But only if it’s approached properly by everyone involved which with Toto you can’t guarantee. BUT the FIA throwing out the rule book would be insane.
I’m SO interested what on earth Toto has promised Vowles to get a Merc junior who will essentially be wasting a seat for Williams in the middle of a season. Granted he probably can’t be worse than Sargent but again, James will effectively just have Alex all year. Are Williams getting free engines?
Fundamentally I think the person who comes away with egg on their face here is James Vowles. Mr “you need to give a rookie three years and an arm around the shoulder” has absolutely exposed himself as TotoLite™️. As for Kimi, I can only hope he has a good team around him and that he has people who will come to the paddock and look out for him and not just let Toto run his career. Because I don’t think him being in F1 early is a guaranteed failure, but I think he will need a strong support network and someone looking out for his best interests.
I’m just shocked by this turn of events in all honesty

Space
Ellie x fem reader
Info: Reader can’t seem to get anything done or focus on herself, she needs some space from Ellie
Warnings:Angst, sad-ish
You were spending the day at Ellie’s place in Jackson. The two of you were cuddled up, letting the rain hit the window near her bed while you both gave each other kisses, laughed at stupid jokes in her pun book, and pretty much let the day go to waste.
The both of you loved spending time with each other, especially when the rain would come down hard and everyone in Jackson had no choice but to stay in.
Your legged wrapped around her like always , tugging at her tank top- it was pure heaven.
Hours and hours had passed at this point, the rain had finished and it was pitch black outside with no sounds but crickets. You only noticed this after laughing so hard you had to face the window for a moment.
“Ellie!” You shout, jumping up out of your comfortable position on Ellie’s bed.
“What…?” She said nonchalantly.
“What time is it?”
“I don’t know…Like 9.” She glances over at her clock that’s on the table stand that was about an hour off.
“Shit!”
“What is it?”
“Ellie, I was supposed to go meet with my sister.” You panicked.
Your sister had plans to be with you today since she had been out all week on patrol, almost dying once too.
“It’s alright….plus it’s too late to meet with her now anyways.” Ellie pulled you back into her arms, caressing your arm, making you feel safe like always. You though, you drifted off into your thoughts. Thoughts you didn’t want to acknowledge.
The next day, you had left Ellie’s home before she woke up and visited your sister.
“Good morning, Y/S/N.” You say, nervously sliding pass her and into her house.
She had a blank and disappointed look on her face, a face you knew all too well since this isn’t the first time you stood someone up or hadn’t been reliable just to be with Ellie.
“I know. You don’t have to remind me.” You say, sitting on her couch that looked like a cat had been tearing it up for years.
“Let me guess……something happened with Ellie.” She mocked you, rolling her eyes and focusing her attention on the mess in her place.
“Well yeah. She needed my help with something-”
“So you had to spend the whole night with her? Did you know that I almost got killed out there waiting for you? Dad tells me this isn’t the first time either. You never show up to dinners, never help us out on patrol, now you don’t even wanna leave Jackson with us.”
You sat in your puddle of shame, not knowing what to say. But you knew exactly what had to happen.
“…Y/n, we never know when it’ll be our last day seeing each other. The least you could do is show up.” She says, leaving you in your thoughts once again.
Later on that night, you felt like a loser, dragging your feet across the ground heading over to Ellie’s house once again. You were mentally preparing yourself for the inevitable conversation that needed to happen between you and ellie.
You hesitated, but finally knocked on her door. Within seconds she opened up and pulls you in, kissing you everywhere which was her favorite way to greet her favorite girl.
You smiled nervously as she kept going before slightly but gently pushing her away.
“What’s up.” She noticed the sad look on your face as you sat down on her bed. You weren’t spending the night and she knew that.
“…..We need to take a break. Give each other some space.” You say, tears starting to build up in your eyes, your vision getting blurry before you wipe them.
Ellie stood there confused. The two of you had built something that could last- at least she thought so. This was so sudden and unexpected, Ellie’s face looked as if she had been experiencing Joel’s death all over again.
You didn’t want to do this to her but it was true, your family was smaller and smaller as the months went on, you didn’t to miss out on them. It was true, Ellie had been distracting you. And it hurt terribly because you loved her so much.
“…I can’t believe this.” She finally said something. “What happened?”
“Ellie, I’m missing out on every thing going on with my family. My sister almost died yesterday!”
“Who’s fault is that?” She says, you notice she starts getting teary eyed as well.
“It’s no one’s fault. I just want a little space. That’s all. I’ll be back.” You stood up heading to the door.
“When?” She said. And you didn’t have an exact answer because you honestly didn’t know. Maybe tomorrow, maybe never- you thought to yourself.
You felt like you were in one of those cheesy soap operas Joel showed you and Ellie a while ago.
Although, it hurt like hell leaving her behind, you knew it was the best idea for you to do at the time since you truly hadn’t got anything done in awhile at Jackson.
A week or so had passed, still grieving the split between you and Ellie, you had to look to the bright side. You had been patrolling with your sister, learning about how she was pregnant, speaking with your father about stuff other than Ellie and truly feeling in the loop with them.
You spotted Ellie at the stables once, and flashed a smile at her. She did the same. You knew you’ll be back soon.
a/n: something short but sad bc i’m feeling emo <3

The 1% Of Chances | TWICE Jeongyeon x Male Reader Fanfic: CHAPTER 5
Tumblr media
After a couple of months of hiatus due to my phone's unfortunate malfunction, we're back on the track! Finally got my whole plot outline for this book recovered, so might as well work ahead already for a new update!
Tumblr media
The next day, your departure with the girls and the managing staff quite took a hold when Dahyun suddenly shouted just as when everyone are about to walk out of the dorm.
"W-wait!"
You who is standing near to Dahyun was the first one to face yourself at her who is scrambling through her bag.
"Is there a problem, Dahyunnie?", you asked her with concern.
"M-my customized airbuds. I can't find it here.", Dahyun said as she still kept on digging down through her belongings inside.
"Wait for us guys!", you shouted for the rest who are on their way to the elevator.
"Why, what happened?", one of our senior and higher ups in our team who is handling Tzuyu named Tendo asked you curiously. He was the one also to press the door open.
"Dahyun lost her earbuds.", he said as you looked back on Dahyun who is now flicking her head back and forth trying to guess where could it have been. The girls heard what you said.
"Weren't you using it yesterday, unnie?", Tzuyu said; approaching the confused Dahyun. She can see what Dahyun has been doing yesterday since after all, they are dormmates.
"N-no, I was using my earphone rather."
"Are you gonna use that today, unnie? Just use your earphones instead.", one of her another dormmate and her "bro" Chaeyoung suggested.
"I will but you know that earbuds are special to me guys right? It's our customized design imprinted on there plus I made it for our Japan merch.", Dahyun explained the real downside of losing that object.
The girls nodded and "oh"-ed in guilt, knowing that they forgot to think of that part.
"Have you perhaps... remember where did you last placed those?", you asked Dahyun.
"N-no...", she shook her head.
"Guys!!! We have to go now. Time is running!", Sadness reaalarmed everyone, pointing down on her watch. "Cmon, Dahyunnie. You can find it later, okay? Today's a heavy schedule for all of you girls.", she persuaded.
They began entering the elevator by group. You looked at Dahyun's frown and felt bad for this girl. It can be replaced by buying again but the thought that it wasn't broken yet and only missing is just too waste to hear if it'll end up just being let go without even trying something for it to recover.
That positive mindset had you enlightened with another idea to help Dahyun.
At the very last second, you looked at them and shouted.
"Go ahead, I'll just take Dahyun myself there!"
"Wait, what? YN-"
"JUST GO! WE'LL TRY TO FIND IT FIRST!", you urged them to proceed as you interrupted Sadness's protest. The elevator doors closed, leaving only you and Dahyun alone.
"Oppa, you didn't have to do that.", she looks at you worriedly.
"Don't bother, Dahyunnie. I don't want you to go to work like this, so I'm helping you to find it but we'll be really quick okay?", you assured her. Dahyun stared at you for more until she gave up with a nod.
"Okay."
You smiled in relief. "Okay. Well, I just think of... where are the places you've been at the whole day yesterday?"
Dahyun shuffles and revisited all of what she did yesterday then started enumerating it. "Well yesterday it was my day-off. I just took a rest here in the house. Did laundry, took bath, read some books, skin care, practice dancing  then I played piano after-"
"Wait stop.", you gestured her by showing her your palm. "Let's try going in your private studio."
Dahyun didn't spoke and instead followed you from behind as you entered the dorm then went straight to the room.
You looked around and you didn't had to duck on some narrow spaces and search for it through some closed containers when you definitely had your eyes locked on it.
Walking forward, you stepped in front of the piano. There, you smiled at the sight of her two earbuds unmovable on top of her piano.
Dahyun saw it too and gasped, quickly taking the things in her hand.
"Oh my God, finally.", she sighed and opened her hand, showing her customized cloud designed earbuds of hers. "H-how did you know oppa?!"
You chuckled and shrugged. "It's just simple anyway. I tried to analyze what would you like be if your earbuds would be involved in those areas you listed along what what you did there."
"You don't usually play music while you're doing chores as what Jeongyeon told me, so I crossed out the laundry. If you'll gonna listen to music while taking a bath then ofcourse you will be using speakers rather so no bathroom either.", you elaborated to Dahyun as you count it with your fingers.
"Skin care, nah. Reading a book? Definitely a no. You don't like being disturbed, Chaeng told me that she was once had you annoyed when she just barged in on your bedroom without granting permission and you were literally reading a book at that time. That left me with the last option- that private studio you girls had. Using your earbuds there can be applied while you're dancing and playing a piano there so, yeah."
Dahyun just blinked her enlargened eyes unbelievably as you finished your entire narration of review through all of what she just shared to you from your key question.
You laughed at the stunned reaction of Dahyun clearly obvious at the impression you made at the idol.
"I-Wha-How... DID THEY REALLY-", Dahyun stuttered, unable to process clearly how did you managed to take all of those interesting infos about her.
"HAHAHAHAHAHHA yeah. Those were part of the mini stories they shared with me in our get along together times whenever they're not doing something and we'll just end up talking randomly about everything.", you laughed.
"I really thought I was the one who told you about that... or even you've seen me through all of that.", Dahyun touched her chest in surprise. "You sounded like a stalker for a moment there, oppa."
"Yeah I can tell.", you sniffled another laugh. "But you can ask the girls, especially Chae and Jeongie. They'll make you know."
Dahyun nodded. "Well, I don't need to do that anymore. I know you ain't like that oppa. But I hope you really don't because as our manager and our friend, I trust you already. Even the girls do too.", she said to you hopefully.
"If that so, then I really don't have intention to spy on you girls and end up breaking into your privacy. You girls forgot one more thing from me. I don't just have trust also for you girls: I bring respect."
You and Dahyun exchanged smiles at each other before you gave a pat on her shoulder. "Let's go, they must be in the middle of the road now. We have to follow them right away.", you said to her as you make your way out of the dorm again with her.
----------
Arriving in JYP Entertainment building, you and Dahyun entered the Michael Jackson dance practice room where the members are doing their respective things while waiting for one of their member who thankfully had shortened their wait as they saw her thanking you again for the drive, greeting their choreographer and placing her bag onto the couch.
As they began their schedule by doing warm-ups, you decided to stroll around the building with the managing staff; Tendo, Sadness, Pinky and the rest of the crew.
Returning back to the room after hours of allowing them to maintain focus on rehearsing their dance choreography for their upcoming lead track of their new album, Jihyo was just in time to announce the break on the girls.
Jeongyeon, who is one of the only girls who walked out together with Nayeon, Jihyo, Dahyun and Chaeyoung as she told you to join her receiving her ordered food from online by meeting the delivery guy outside of the building.
As you and her reached the lobby, Jeongyeon was still busy tracking the location of the rider on her phone when you saw the familiar idol entering the area and walking at the direction towards you and Jeongyeon with all smiles alongside with his own manager.
"Jeongyeon-ah!", he called Jeongyeon after recognizing her quickly when she looked at you and told you that the rider finally arrived based on the notification popped out on the screen.
"Oh! Young K!", she waved her hand gracefully. Your face shuddered in awkwardness and distrought, having yourself inserted again in the midst of interaction between these two that were giving you strange feelings difficult to get rid of.
"Good morning! What's your sched today? Are the girls with you right now or just you?", he asked. Seems like they about to brought theirselves into their small talk against without bothering to notice your presence around near them so you just did what you usually do in respect and shame for them: stay still and shut up.
"Good morning! A-ahh... yeah. They're with me today. We're having our break as of now from our dance practice.", Jeongyeon answered with a grin. "How about you, oppa?"
"Well, I have to meet JYP nim today.", he answered. That made you look at him for a second because it kinda suprised you atleast. "I have a work... proposed by him that I definitely agreed on.", he smiled.
"Can you tell me about it?"
"An ongoing collab song. I'm going to be composing with him.", he proudly replied.
"Woahhh! Really?! Congrats, oppa! Can't wait to hear your song with JYP oppa!", Jeongyeom clapped celebratingly. It earned a soft laughter from her bestfriend... you weren't sure if that's the correct term to call him for Jeongyeon yet.
"I have to go now, Jeongie. PD nim might cancel our project if I make him mad for being late.", he joked. "Bye!"
"Bye oppa!" The two high fived. You just had to watched them do that without any rights to disturb or prevent them from talking happily with each other as your heart sunk inches by inches beneath seeing your crush acting suspiciously again with someone very close to her.
Meanwhile, two people were keeping an eye on you from the distance as they hid on the wall of the hallway leading to the right.
As they ended their convo, you directed Jeongyeon on the glass wall of the entranceway where the reflection of the Seoul exterior can be seen, including the motor that is parked on the side where it is owned by what it seems to be a delivery rider checking his phone to keep in touch with the customer.
"Jeong, I think that's yours.", you pointed assumingly to it. She followed where you're pertaining to and agreed after. "Looks like it is."
You were right. You exited the building with Jeongyeon and approached the rider where it was confirmed that the idol's ordered food is there with him. She claimed and paid it after, repaying gratitude towards one another before you helped her carry it and enter the place again with her.
Later in the night, the girls successfully finished arranging their entire choreo from begginning through the end as it was declared by their instructor.
"Good job everyone! Come back here at 10AM tomorrow okay? We will attempt to polish and familarize the moves now. Rest well ladies!", the instructor announced to the exhausted girls sitting and lying down on the wooden floor, now satisfied and relieved that the draining practice is over.
We all clapped in respect for the girls hardwork again which they returned with an appreciation and gratitude too along with a flashy, lively smile like the humble and wholehearted people they are.
As you opened my tablet and checked out their completed schedule today before you reviewed their upcoming ones tomorrow and days following by, Jeongyeon came to your side and brought her bag there to fix it on your side.
You looked at her and she smiled back, which definitely caused an uncontrollable flush and embarassment on your behalf, too weak and instable to contain her lovely looks.
"Oppa, please join me tomorrow at the mall after we left from practice.", she requested while shutting close her bag's zipper.
"Sure. Going shopping?", you gladly accepted accompanying her as if that's not a part of your job as her personal manager.
She nodded in response.
Standing up from your seat, you brought her back for assistance as you let her be with the girls while you joined your fellow managers walking down through the ground floor to reach the exit and go to the parking lot where your car and the company's van are kept.
During the ride, you heard something from them that won your interest; discreetly listening at the words they're mumbling at the back while you paused your task at your tablet.
"Agh, I'm so hungry. I'm craving for some bulgogi right now.", it was Jeongyeon expression her eagerness to taste some delicious famous Korean dish.
"Same unnie, should we order?", Tzuyu agreed and suggested.
"We'll just cook, I guess. I want it to have a homecooked taste also.", Jeongyeon declined.
You smirked as these poor girls gave you an idea to do for them tonight.
Reaching their apartment building, after a not so long drive; you escorted them to enter at Nayeon and Momo's dorm which you assumed that they are indeed serious to be the ones cooking their meal for tonight.
It was left abandoned though when you excused yourself to your roommates Tendo, Heungson and Yeongsu that you'll be back in the dorm for longer.
In their surprise, you entered their room too; and Jeongyeon and Momo who are about to wear their own aprons left their arms raised in their air as they watch you head to the kitchen with them.
"O-oppa, what are you still doing here?", Momo asked curiously. You just smiled and voluntarily removed the lace of their apron on their grasp before you hanged it back to where it was placed, leaving Jeongyeon, Momo and the rest clueless.
"Take a rest. I'll be the one cooking for tonight.", you smiled nicely at them.
Momo and Jeongyeon got shocked. "Thank you oppa!!!", they both went to you and hugged you on your side while the girls cheered and shared their own thank yous at you.
"Oppa, could you please do-"
"Beef bulgogi, right?", you interrupted Jeongyeon. She was left speechless and only able to nod with a fluttered state as she tightlipped her stucked words instead.
"Now go and rest. You girls shouldn't be doing this, all of you are tired enough already. Save some energy for tomorrow. Let me take control of the kitchen."
The girls all responded with a "Yes!" before they went on to rest in their own ways, watching TV, scrolling down on their phone, lay down on the couch and the carpeted floor as they let you move around in the kitchen, starting to work on cooking the preferred dinner of this night mostly by Jeongyeon.
You weren't even aware that your preoccupied self preparing the ingredients prevented you to notice repeated admiring glances of Jeongyeon's sparkling eyes to you. It had made her see you like truly a perfect boyfriend/ husband material from her sight.
Minutes have passed, you ordered them to gather around the table. The owners of the dorm, Nayeon and Momo helped you prepare the plates, spoons, forks and glass to be distributed for each of everyone present.
You transferred the bulgogi from the pan to three bowls before placing them on the tray and deliver it to the table, now presented in front of the girls who were left in awe at how mouth-watering its look and smell.
"Beef bulgogi, everyone.", you clapped your hands once; confidently showed your own cooked meal to the girls.
The girls cheered happily like little kids. It warmed your heart and soul as they sounded like they were your nine precious little daughters finally given granted by their loving father to cook their favorite food.
"Thank you so much, oppa!" The girls chanted again enthusiastically at you, except for one of them who sent her own in a unique manner.
Jeongyeon, who was next to you from the right, grabbed your wrist and pulled it a little closer to her, so that she can cuddle your arm and show you her melting smile and adorable greeting at you.
"Y-you're welcome, Jeongie.", you patted her on the head, earning a giggle from her which you huffed and sighed at how your heart must be beating so damn fast right now all solely because of this woman.
The rest who are witnessing this did a teaseful coughs and other sounds to portray that there's something interesting going on here. "What was that, Yoo Beep Beep huh?", Jihyo playfully asked which was effective to mnake Jeongyeon startle. "Yah I just hugged him because I really liked that she cooked us the food I've been craving since earlier. What are you thinking again, Hyomas?", Jeongyeon lets out her typical pouty duck lips. You glared at them and shook your head before defending your position. "Stop it, I know those antics girls."
"Somebody's defensive.", Sana winked and smirked at you which caused a laughter from all of you. Yes, even you who are getting teamed up here just to get linked closer with Jeongyeon as a tandem.
"If you do, can you tell us what do we mean by that?", Nayeon also smirked as she challenged you. Oh no, you got what she's trying to do. You quickly swapped it away and switched it with a different topic to escape. "Don't mind them oppa, they just love to misintepret and make fun of us again.", Jeongyeon encourages you to disregard and move on.
"Aish, let's just pray to get started. The food's about to be cold now.", you acted annoyed as you heard them still trying to contain their laughs. Jeongyeon on the other hand, was blushing like a tomato while find it hilarious on your part that you're getting targeted by these bunch of crackheads again.
After finishing the dinner, Dahyun and Chaeyoung who loves this specific household chore ever since back from their Twice Private Life rookie days ; are the ones who volunteered to wash the dishes.
Some of them began returning back to their respective rooms. You bid goodbye and goodnights at them for a sweet and peaceful sleep before also doing the same, opening the door and putting one foot out of the doorframe...
... not until in your utter astonishment, a pair of hands from the unknown groped your shoulders from behind and pulled you with force; which avoided you to leave the room for good.

Wrote this because I’m barely surviving rn 💀 i cannot relapse until Christmas and im fucking DYING !!! Anyway if yall want a part 2 lmk 😈
Tumblr media
You’re depressed, so depressed that you can barely get out of bed to pee. Maybe you’re depressed because of the relationship, you cant tell. Maybe its the fact that you starve yourself every time he yells at you as a habit. Or maybe its the fact he doesn’t spend his days off with you anymore. He just goes out drinking with his friends or does whatever the fuck he does. Or maybe its the fact he doesn’t fucking care.
He only says mean things to you now.
“What the fuck? Why’re you so sad? You do nothing all day. You just sit in this house that I pay for. You’re not constantly almost dying, working hard.” He says this to you after he finds you crying in the guest room. You stay silent, its a battle that you dont have the energy to fight anymore.
The next day you go searching for a job. You confine in a friend and she gives you a job at her bookstore. She says that theres too locations you can work at. Apparently, she’ll be moving out of state to the next one soon and she invited you. She knew how horrible you felt. She was giving you an escape.
The next day you make dinner for Katsuki. You both sit down at the nearly abandoned dining table. It was refreshing for a few minutes, even though he didn’t involve himself in any of your conversation. You were just happy he wasn’t yelling at you.
You decide to drop the bomb after 5 minutes of eating. You could hardly contain your excitement when you asked him “Guess what?” He showed hardly any interest in you but some was better than none.
He looked up at you, signaling for you to speak. You beamed at him as you announced your new job. You immediately started to ramble about how cool it’ll be to get out and how excited you were.
You looked up at him and immediately stopped talking. He looked angry, his lip curled upwards and his brows furrowed.
You looked at him with confusion evident on your face. “What’s wrong?” You honestly didn’t expect this reaction. You were just stuck. Why was he angry when you’re finally doing something good?
“Do you think I’m just not capable of providing? I offer you money all the fucking time but you want a job? I give you enough and you dont use it unless its for food. What’s wrong with my money?”
His grip on the chopsticks folded them. You couldn’t even cry yet, you were just shocked. “I thought you’d like it? You always complain about me ‘freeloading’ off of you and how you pay all the bills. I could start paying too!”
You flinched as he slammed his fists against the table. “I don’t need your stupid fucking 9-5 money! Im the number 6 hero! You’re probably not even doing this for the rent. What do you want?”
No, no, no. This was not how this was supposed to go. He was supposed to be happy. And then you could be happy too. He would have asked you about your job and smiled and praised you. What is happening?
He jerked himself out of his seat and stomped over to you. You scooted yourself back away from him in the chair he grabbed it and held you still.
He pulled out his wallet and rummaged through it. “What? Do you want some of those stupid books? Some decorations for this house? A necklace?” You stared at him with wide eyes at he pulled out a wad of cash and shoved it into your chest.
“There, ya happy now? Still want that job?” He crossed his arms, waiting for you to respond.
He treated you as if you were a slut, a gold digger. You were with him before he was rich. How could he even think that? You were done.
You looked down at the floor as tears flooded your eyelids. “Do you think I’m only here for your money?” It was a question you knew you had to ask. You would be left curious and broken for the rest of your life if you didn’t know now.
“You know, I’m starting to think so.”
That was your last straw. You couldn’t do this anymore.
The giggles came out before the sobs. Tears streamed down your cheeks yet you still laughed. “The hell are you laughing for?!” Its like he was upset that you weren’t already screaming at him.
You looked up at him, meeting his eyes for the first time in what felt like years.
“Do you know how hard you are to love?”
He paused, opening and closing his mouth.
You slid off your ring and set it on the table. Then you gathered the money through blurry eyes. The sobs started to fill in when you shoved the money into his chest just as he had done to you. You watch his fall to the floor.
“I try and try my best. I get a job, I make you dinner, I give you everything I have.” You reach up to take off the necklace that had his initials carved into. “I defend you, I make enemies for you, I sacrificed friendships and family relationships just to please you. But its never enough.” You set the necklace down and go to the bracelet he gave you. “I never asked for any of this expensive shit. The only thing I asked for was your love.” You set the bracelet down with your resolve.
He’s staring at you now with a look of surprise. You meet his eyes again with a look he hasn’t seen directed at him ever. “I’m done, Bakugou. Im done.”
You dont even notice when you start to gather your charger and car keys. You dont hear anything he has to say. You don’t hear the pleas for you to just listen and calm down. You dont hear the insults he says when he calls you overdramatic. And you definitely don’t hear the apology, cause it never came.
You walked towards the door, “I’m gonna pick up the rest my stuff tomorrow.” He grabs your wrist just before you touch the doorknob. “Please y/n, just sit down for one fucking second. We can talk about this!” You yank yourself out of him hands, “Touch me again and I’ll scream.”
You knew he couldn’t afford anything else on his record, especially domestic abuse. He had to just watch as you walked away. And you fucking loved it.

highly requested part 2 to this angsty blurb, and this marks the end of my 2k blurb weekend! thank you all for joining me and I hope you enjoyed!
-
Matthew wandered back to the hotel well after midnight.
The rehearsal dinner ended around nine in the evening, but after spending an hour on that deck thinking about everything you said, he decided to take a long walk around the neighborhood.
He wandered through the church venue Willow had booked and sat at the pews for a few minutes, taking in all the decorations that were already set up. Then, he made his way back to the barn where the reception would take place, and all of it just felt wrong: the decor, the table settings, the flowers, none of it felt right.
Matthew didn’t put much thought into the wedding, per Willow’s requests, but it only hit him just how little he contributed to all of it as he sat on his hotel bed and thought about what his ideal wedding would look like.
He didn’t even want to get married in Calgary.
It made sense he would since Willow had lived here her whole life, but Matthew always imagined his wedding taking place in St. Louis where his entire family and all his friends could attend. Besides his immediate family and teammates, no one else could make the long trip to Calgary for his wedding.
When Matthew pictured his wedding, he also pictured you standing at the end of the aisle, too. Matthew was sure Willow’s dress would be gorgeous and she would look absolutely beautiful tomorrow, but when he pictured you standing there in her place, he was filled with a fluttering of butterflies in his stomach he couldn’t deny.
Which is what led him to knocking on Willow’s door at one in the morning.
It took a few minutes before she woke, bleary eyed and confused as to why her fiance was seeking her out so late in the night. “Matthew? What is it? You’re not supposed to see me before the wedding.” She pulled her robe tighter around her body, as if trying to shield Matthew’s eyes from her.
That was another superstition Matthew didn’t like. He nearly begged Willow to spend the night with him before the wedding, not buying into the ‘bad luck’ bullshit people always said about sleeping together before the ceremony, but she wouldn’t budge.
“I know, I’m sorry for the intrusion, but I think we need to talk,” Matthew said. He was still dressed in his suit from the dinner, though he’d shed his jacket and tie long ago. Willow’s face fell at his words, but she let him inside her room anyway.
Matthew sat on the edge of the bed awkwardly and fiddled with his thumbs as Willow sat next to him. Silence filled the room. Matthew didn’t know how to say it.
“Is this about Y/N?” Willow asked calmly after a few minutes passed. “I saw you two talking outside earlier.”
Matthew looked at his fiance, her eyes sad and face dismal. He nodded.
“I figured,” she sighed.
“I’m sorry,” Matthew said because he didn’t know what else to say.
Then Willow said the most unexpected thing.
“It’s okay.”
Matthew’s confusion was clear on his face, and Willow let out a genuine laugh as she took his hand in hers.
“I thought if you saw her and she moved on, we could’ve made this work, but that wasn’t the case, was it?” She asked, and Matthew nodded again.
“I can’t say I’m surprised,” she continued. “I always knew you still loved her.”
“I really did love you,” Matthew said. “I do love you… it’s just…”
“You love her more,” Willow finished for him.
“I am sorry,” Matthew pleaded. “I didn’t mean for any of this to happen, but then I saw her and… I can’t let her go.”
“I know,” Willow said, squeezing his hand comfortingly, and then let out a deep sigh. “Well, I guess we better tell our folks the wedding’s off, huh?”
-
Matthew showed up to your place a month later.
He stood outside your apartment, nervous and shaking, with a bouquet of your favorite flowers in his hands. You hadn’t heard from him since booking the first flight out of Calgary, dodging all his calls and texts that came in over the week after his wedding. You effectively stayed off social media, deleting all the apps you knew you still had Matthew on in fear of seeing wedding pictures.
The surprise on your face was evident when you answered the door to find Matthew on the other side.
“Aren’t you supposed to be on your honeymoon or something?” You asked.
“I didn’t go through with it. I couldn’t after seeing you,” Matthew explained. “Can I come in?”
Swallowing the lump in your throat, you let Matthew follow you inside. He’d never seen your apartment before. You’d moved places shortly after your breakup, trying to erase the memories of Matthew that existed on every surface of your old apartment.
He held out the flowers for you, which you took and placed into a vase and filled with water. Matthew’s eyes roamed your new place, taking in all the photos you had on your fridge to the books you kept on your bookshelves.
“To what do I owe the pleasure, Matthew?” You asked.
Matthew’s gaze focused back on you. “I always hated it when you called me Matthew.” A smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
“What do you want?” You rephrased, ignoring his comment.
“I want to give us another shot,” Matthew answered confidently.
You weren’t quite sure what you were expecting him to say, but it was definitely not that.
“Matthew—”
“And before you tell me how bad of an idea it is, because I know that’s what you’re about to say, just hear me out.”
Your mouth snapped shut and you waited for him to continue.
“I love you. I’m in love with you. I have been for years, and I’m never going to not be in love with you,” Matthew said. “After you left, I couldn’t stop thinking about you, and I realized that marrying Willow wasn’t what I wanted. When I picture my future I see you in it. I see you at the end of that aisle on our wedding day. I see you and me in a house with a dog and maybe a few kids. I see you waiting for me at home at the end of the day, and I see you beside me when I wake up in the morning.”
“Matthew, we tried this before,” you sighed. “We tried the long distance, and it didn’t work.”
“And I’m willing to try again,” Matthew replied, crossing the few feet of space between you to cup your face in his hands. “We were young and dumb and immature, and I pressured you to change your life for me when I shouldn’t have. I’m not asking you to pack up your life and move to Calgary right now. Hell, if you don't ever want to move to Canada, you don’t have to. I’ll move to wherever you want to be because wherever you are is where I belong.”
“I’m in this for the long haul,” he added. “There is no one else out there for me, and there never will be.”
Tears welled in your eyes at his profession, and Matthew’s thumb came to swipe at a stray tear that rolled down your cheek.
“What makes you think this time will be different?” You questioned softly.
“Because I’m different. We’re different. And I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy. You’re all I want.”
“You’d really request a trade for me?” Matthew nodded.
“It wasn’t fair to put that all on you then, and I know that. I shouldn’t have asked you to do something I wasn’t willing to do myself, but I’m telling you now that I’d do anything for you,” he answered.
Throwing your arms around Matthew’s neck, you pressed your entire body into his. Arms tightened around your torso, keeping you snug against him, and Matthew tucked your head into his chest.
“So what do you say? Can you give me a second chance?” He mumbled into your hair.
“I think we’re well past second chances,” you chuckled.
“I promise it’ll be the last one you need to give me,” Matthew laughed, grasping the base of your neck.
In an attempt to blink away his own tears, a few streamed down his cheeks. Leaning forward, you kissed away the tears, leaving his cheeks wet, but Matthew had a dopey grin on his face all the same.
“I’m all in,” you replied to his question, and Matthew had to take a second to make sure he heard you correctly.
His grin spread wider, and he crashed his lips to yours, both of your smiles getting in the way but neither of you cared. Matthew peppered your face in kisses: your brow, your cheeks, your nose, your chin. There was not one inch of skin he left untouched.
You giggled in his arms, twisting your face to the side to avoid the tickling of his scruff against your cheeks, but he kept you close to his body.
“I love you,” he said finally, “and I’m sorry it took me so long to get my shit together.”
You caught his lips in a deep kiss. “All that matters is you’re here now.”
“Oh, I forgot something,” Matthew said, pulling back just enough to reach his hand into his pocket.
A small box rested in the palm of his hand, and he opened it to show you the necklace he gifted to you nearly three years ago. When everything ended, you’d given it back to him, and he’d kept it tucked away in his bedside drawer since then.
The dainty ‘19’ hung from the chain, and Matthew undid the hook and looked at you with hopeful eyes. Your stomach did a flip as you turned around, and Matthew draped the jewelry around your neck, connecting it in the back and placing a soft kiss on the skin right above it.
“Now everything’s right where it belongs.”

“That’s it!” You slammed your lunch tray down on the cafeteria table as you huffed and sat down beside MJ. “I’m done with men. I hate love. I’m over it.”
MJ looked over at you and sighed, rolling her eyes. She didn’t believe you, especially since the boy you’d broken up with was the boy you dated not even a week after swearing off men the last time.
“What are you talking about?” Ned asked before receiving a swift kick from MJ.
“Don’t ask about it.” The girl replied through gritted teeth as she fully turned on the bench to face you. “Y/n, you know I love you, but I can’t help but think you’re being a little rash.”
“Rash?” You scoffed. “You wanna talk about rash? MJ, you broke up with Ethan Brooks in eighth grade because he accidentally stepped on your foot at the winter formal.”
“I know you’re just being harsh because you’re heartbroken, but let’s be real, Y/n, you don’t hate love.”
“Yes, yes I do. I’m never, ever, ever going to fall in love. I’m not even going to think about it. I now will live in a world of tragedy and heartbreak because love does not exist.”
You stabbed your fork into your mac and cheese aggressively. Maybe MJ was right, you thought, you might have been being a little harsh and you were very heartbroken.
You had the unfortunate curse of being a romantic, loving the idea of love and anything having to do with a good rom-com. You couldn’t help but fall in love with everyone you’d ever had a romantic moment with. You just loved the experience that came with being in love.
However, now sitting heartbroken and eating your feelings in mac and cheese, you really really didn’t like the idea of falling in love and would have rather fallen off the face of the earth than like another boy.
MJ sighed heavily, reading your body language and knowing you wanted nothing more than to curl up in bed and watch a sad movie.
“Y/n, I know you’re sad, but look on the bright side, you have more time to hang out with us. We’re going to the movies after school today.”
You looked between your three friends, smiling shyly. “Thanks, guys, but I really just feel like being alone.”
“Oh, come on, Y/n.” Peter sighed, giving you a nudge with his foot. “I know you secretly want to pig out on popcorn and see that new horror movie.”
“I don’t think so, Peter. I really don’t feel good.”
Peter pouted, giving you puppy dog eyes. “Please, Bug, come on. You blew me off last week to go out with Brad and we’re best friends. You owe me one.”
“I thought we were best friends.” Ned spoke up, earning another swift kick from Peter. “Ow! What is with you guys and abusing me?”
You smiled, rolling your eyes at your friends. Especially at Peter, who seemed serious enough to use the only face you couldn’t resist and a nickname that always seemed to keep your attention on him.
“I’ll think about it.” You caved, taking another bite of your food.
“Don’t think. Just say yes.”
“Are you seriously going to be pushy right now, Parker?” You raised a brow at him. “I am heartbroken. Sick with sadness.”
“I’m just saying, the best way to get over someone-”
“Is to get under someone.” Ned stated proudly, cutting Peter off.
“Ew, no!” Peter gave Ned a light shove. “I was going to say that the best way to get over someone is to be around people who care about you.”
“Or burning his personal belongings before he asks for them back.” MJ added, stealing a fork full of your mac and cheese. “We could always burn Brad’s stuff and roast marshmallows over it.”
“I like MJ’s idea way better than going to the movies.” You agreed, pointing to the girl beside you while you locked eyes with Peter.
“We’re not going to burn his stuff!” Peter exclaimed as MJ frowned. “I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to burn someone else’s property and we already made plans to go to the movie.”
“Well, damn.” You frowned. “Now look who’s being harsh.”
MJ began to chuckle beside you as Peter began to frown.
“Harsh would be me forcing you to go to the movie.”
“Oh yeah, and badgering me to go isn’t forcing me right, Peter?” You raised a brow at him as you finished the last of your meal.
“At least I’m asking and not physically forcing you to go.”
“That is true.” You shrugged. “I guess I’ll come, but if I am having a terrible time, you have to take me home.”
“Always.” Peter smiled, nodding as he reached forward and grabbed your hand. “It’ll be fun, Bug. I swear.”
You shrugged, squeezing the boy’s hand as the bell rang loudly. You pulled away quickly, catching a glance at your now ex-boyfriend and the girl attached to his arm as he walked past your table. You cleared your throat, corralling your things together as you rose from your spot on the bench.
“I’ll-I’ll, uh, see you guys later. I’ve got to get to Chem. I can’t be late again or I’ll get a detention.” You stammered, feeling the tears prick at your eyes as you pulled your books in your arms.
“Let me walk with you.” Peter offered, noticing the sudden change in your mood as he rose from his seat and rounded the table to where you stood. “I have to get to Bio next door anyway.”
You nodded silently, surprised when you felt Peter’s hand press lightly against the small of your back as he guided you through the crowd in silence.
“You know, Bug, it’s okay to say things aren’t okay.” He finally said as you made it into the outer corridor of the cafeteria.
You bit your lip at his words, holding back the tears as you glanced over at him so he could finally see your eyes and cheeks red with pent up feelings.
“I’m fine.” You choked out, swallowing the lump that formed in your throat.
Peter pulled you aside, out of the way of the walking students. His eyes, you could see as he rested his hands on your shoulders and forced you to look at him, were full of concern.
“I know you’re not. You want to talk about it?”
You couldn’t help it, the warmth and care in his brown eyes caused your tears to begin to fall as your hand shot up to wipe them quickly.
“You must think I’m pathetic.” You laughed uncomfortably as you spoke, “I’m crying over some stupid boy and you have to watch.”
Peter shook his head, his expression clearly showing the confusion in his mind as he looked at you.
He never found you pathetic nor would he ever. On the contrary, he found you to be the most amazing person he’d had ever known, and not just because you were best friends. Watching you cry, he realized something he’d never wanted to take a good hard look at.
You were the girl he’d always wanted to be with and you’d always kept him on the sidelines. You were everything he’d ever wanted and yet you always kept him as the best friend, the shoulder to cry on, the boy who often kept you afloat.
For a girl so in love with romance and cliches, you’d never realized how much of a walking cliche the two of you were.
Not that Peter was upset. He would never be upset by that, especially when you still allowed for him to be so close by your side.
“Oh, Y/n.” He pulled you into a hug after giving you a moment to clean yourself up. “I would never think you were pathetic. You’re the best person I know.”
You sniffed, bringing your arms around him to embrace him back before pulling away and looking up at him.
“You really think so?”
“I know so.” He gave you a shy smile as he glanced down at you.
Your eyes traveled from gazing into his and looking to the spot on his shirt that you had now stained with tears and mascara.
“Even if I stained your nice white shirt with my make up?”
Peter pulled away, looking down at the shoulder of his shirt as he tugged at it to see the stain better. He sighed, chuckling lightly as he looked at you with a smile as warm as the look in his eyes.
“I have other shirts. I didn’t really like this one, anyway.”
“Peter, that’s your favorite one.”
Peter shrugged, letting go of the fabric between his fingers as he looked at you, wiping away the last remaining tear that clung to your cheekbone. “I’ll just have to find a new favorite then.”
You swallowed a bit, your hand reaching up and resting on his wrist as you smiled shyly, sudden feeling nervous.
“I should probably get to class.” You said softly, your voice barely above a whisper.
Peter’s hand fell from your face quickly as he became aware of the new energy between you two.
“Yeah, yeah.” He cleared his throat harshly. “I should get going too.”
You nodded, allowing for silence to fall between you two as you quickly rushed to class, giving him a small wave before walking into the classroom.
The rest of the day felt uneventful and monotone with spurts of sadness and confusion here and there. You could feel the heartache of your breakup settle in every once in a while, especially in moments in which you let your mind wander while watching your ex-boyfriend now flirt with the girl beside him.
When your mind wasn’t wandering with thoughts of pain and heartbreak, it was full of thoughts of Peter and the moment you shared in the hallway.
It wasn’t that you’d never had a moment like that with Peter before, you’d had plenty of moments in which he comforted you while you were upset and visa versa. You were best friends, of course you’d have your fair share of comforting moments, such as the time when you spent a week at Peter’s house after his uncle passed away.
However, while you sat in class with your pen between your lips as you watched and counted down the minutes to the bell ringing,  you couldn’t shake the feeling that that moment in the hallway meant something more to you.
As the bell finally rang, you practically ran out of the classroom and into the hall, only to run into the person you were looking for.
You feel backwards and onto the floor, slightly shocked by your bottom hitting the ground as Peter’s hand shot out towards you as he bent over.
“Shit, Y/n, you okay?” He asked as you grabbed his hand and allowed for him to help you up.
You dusted yourself off before picking up your bag. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
“What were you running for?”
“I was, uh, looking for you. We’re supposed to go to a movie, right?”
Peter nodded, starting to walk towards the front entrance of the school, his hands shoved into his pockets as you walked closely beside him.
“Are you feeling better?” He asked after the silence between you felt too heavy for him to bear.
“I don’t know.” You shrugged. “I don’t know how I could really feel better while having to see my newly ex flirt with another girl not even 24 hours after our breakup.”
“I’m sorry, Bug.”
“It’s not your fault.” You shrugged, kicking a rock that sat on the sidewalk in front of you. “He can do what he wants. He’s a single man now.”
“I wouldn’t call him much of a man.” Peter admitted, taking a look in your direction.
You kicked the rock again as you approached it, watching it bounce and tumble down the sidewalk and into the grass.
“Are MJ and Ned going to meet us at the theater or what’s the plan?” You asked, trying to derail the conversation from the topic you had no interest in rehashing.
Peter pulled a hand from his pocket and rubbed the back of his neck before putting it back in his pocket. He should’ve known you’d ask about the other two people who were supposed to be in attendance to your evening out.
“MJ had to go to detention since she’s behind on her sketchbook work for art class. You know how she is, likes to draw people in detention for whatever reason. And Ned went home sick after lunch. He made the mistake of eating the meatloaf.” He lied, surprised he thought of something believable off the top of his head.
In reality, he paid MJ twenty dollars to refrain from going to the movie and to lie about her whereabouts, something she never had trouble at doing, and he promised Ned that he’d spend the rest of the weekend helping him build another Star Wars lego model even though Peter wanted to grow out of the habit of playing with legos.
You frowned a bit, having hoped you could’ve had some much needed girl time with MJ and wanting the funny commentary and banter of Ned during a movie that would normally terrify you.
“Oh. Well, that sucks, but it’s okay. At least we’re still going together.” You raised your frown into a slight smile.
Silence fell between you once again, leaving the only audible sound to be the wind and your heels hitting the ground in unison as you walked towards the movie theater.
“Don’t worry about paying tonight. It’s my treat.” Peter stated as the theater came into view on the horizon.
“Oh, Peter, you don’t have to.”
“No, I want to. Just let me treat you to a night out. I feel bad that you’ve been having a rough day, so it’s the least I could do.”
You reached out and grabbed his arm, stopping him in his tracks before you engulfed him into a hug with your arms tight around his neck and your perfume filling his nostrils.
“Peter Parker, you are truly my best friend and the love of my life.” You announced proudly, not realizing that the words warmed Peter in a way he’d never experienced before.
“I love you too, Y/n, but I cannot breathe with you choking me out like this.” He said softly, pretending to wheeze as you pulled away, giving him a shove.
“You are so dramatic.” You chuckled, starting to walk down the sidewalk once again.
“I’m dramatic?” Peter scoffed as he jogged to keep up with you. “Aren’t you the theater nerd?”
“Doesn’t mean you’re not also a drama queen.”
“I’ll have you know, I am very good at keeping my cool.”
“Tell that to Flash Thompson and your little rivalry.”
“Flash is an asshole.”
“I’m not saying he isn’t,” you argued, “all I’m saying is that you get a bit dramatic with him. I like to think he’s secretly in love with you.”
“Ew, gross.” Peter shook his head. “Flash is the last person I’d want a dramatic romance with.”
“I think Flash is the last person anyone wants to have a romance with.” You laughed.
Peter was glad that it seemed your spirits were lifting as you finally made it to the theater. He could feel his own spirits lifted by your bettering mood which left him not needing to worry as much.
He didn’t know whether it was the elation in mood he was feeling between the two of you or the instinctive urge to keep you close and protected that had him reaching for your hand as he opened the door to the theater to let you in first, but as you walked through the corridor, he grabbed it without thought or hesitation.
You didn’t know what possessed him to grab your hand either, but you found yourself refraining from questioning it, wanting to feel the warmth and caring touch of someone else. Though your spirits were lifted a bit, you still felt lonely deep down.
“Are you okay?” Peter asked, glancing down at you as he grabbed the tickets from the girl at the ticket counter and began to guide you towards the snack bar.
You nodded, unsure of what to say as Peter continued to watch you closely. You held your breath, suddenly nervous with his eyes on you before you were saved by his eyes travelling to view the menu far above your head.
“I’m thinking we get a large popcorn and two sodas.” He thought out loud as you frowned. “Unless, that’s not what you want?”
You blinked, shaking your head quickly as you spoke. “No, no, sorry. I got lost in thought. That sounds fine. I’m not that hungry, though.”
“How are you not hungry? You ate two bites of mac and cheese at lunch and then pushed it around on your tray.”
You shrugged, pulling your hand from his and crossing your arms over your chest. You were somewhat building up an appetite, but every time you did, you suddenly felt sick by your own intrusive thoughts about your heartache and break up with a boy you knew you shouldn’t have been crying over.
“I guess I’m not really in the mood to eat too much.” You finally said.
“Well, I’m still getting the large and if you ask for any, I won’t give you some. You already said no.” Peter teased.
“Oh, you would never say no to me.”
“You wanna bet?” Peter raised a brow as you reached the front of the short line.
“I’ll bet you a bag of overpriced M&M’s.”
“I thought you weren’t hungry.”
“I am always hungry for M&M’s.”
Peter smiled with a light eye roll. “Alright, but you can’t eat any until we determine who won.”
“Deal.”
You smiled as he turned away from you, ordering your snacks and you began taking each one from him before he carried the popcorn and his drink and you carried your own drink and the bag of M&M’s you were so excited to win. You watched your feet fall to the ground to his in unison as you two stayed silent, trying to navigate the hallway for the theater your movie was in.
“Hey, Peter?” You caught the boy’s attention as he walked through the open door of your theater, a fistful of popcorn in his hand as he looked at you.
“Yeah?” He began walking backwards as he faced you and tossed the popcorn into his mouth.
“Can I have some popcorn?”
“Yeah, sure.” He nodded as he spoke through his mouthful of popcorn and held the bucket out to you.
You began laughing, taking a few pieces of popcorn and popping them into your mouth.
“Why are you laughing?” Peter asked as you were giggling beside him now following him up the stairs of the theater before looking down at his bucket. “Oh. I guess you can have those M&M’s after all.”
“We just made this bet! How’d you forget already?” You chuckled, walking past him and into an aisle, picking the perfect seat in the middle of the theater.
“I-I don’t know! I got so involved in the popcorn I forgot.”
“I guess that’s one way of saying you want to marry a food item.” You teased as he rolled his eyes and took a seat beside you.
“You know, I’m not going to get mad cause you’re going through it, but when you’re over it, I will get you back for this.”
“How? You’re already a victim of premature Alzheimer’s. You won’t remember this by the time I get a new boyfriend.”
You reached over, grabbing a handful of popcorn and beginning to eat the pieces one by one as you watched Peter closely.
“You know, sometimes I hate you.”
“No, you don’t.”
“How would you know?”
“Cause you don’t even have a mean bone in your body. Flash bullies you mercilessly and you don’t even say anything back.”
“Is that a bad thing?”
“No.” You shook your head. “It makes you a good guy. And we need good guys in this world.”
“You think I’m a good guy?”  Peter raised his brow as you nodded wildly at him.
“Of course I do.” You leaned over, placing a hand on his. “You’re not just a good guy, but a guy too good for this world, you know? You deserve the world, but the world doesn’t deserve you.”
Peter leaned in close to you. “Sorry, I don’t think I heard that.”
You could feel your breath hitch as he leaned in, his face a few mere inches from yours. It wasn’t that you were scared, but nervous at your excitement at the thought of him kissing you.
Peter could feel your anxious energy as he leaned in close, the urge to kiss you in the way he’d always wanted to growing strong as he moved his head so your lips were lined up to his ear. It wasn’t that he wanted to kiss you, but he didn’t want to take advantage of your loneliness in that moment.
You leaned in close to his ear, your nostrils now full of his shampoo as you spoke softly. “I said that I thought you were such a great guy that you deserve the world, but the world doesn’t deserve you.”
“You mean that?” He answered back, his voice as soft as your own.
He did dare lean back or move his head from the position it was in for fear that he’d kiss you so soon. The words you were saying were ones he always wanted you to say, but never thought would come out. He wanted to be everything you ever wanted, but your words now felt somewhat short yet so close to that sentiment.
“Of course I do.” You replied, your own urge to kiss him rising steadfast in the back of your mind.
You couldn’t tell if it was your loneliness or the sudden dimming of the theater lights that had you realizing that all you wanted was to cross the line of friendship with Peter, a line you never realized was made to be crossed when it came to your friendship.
Every touch, every sweet nothing, every thing about him you loved began to swirl around in your mind as you pulled away from him and gazed into his eyes before planting your lips on his, pushing him back into the armrest of his seat.
Peter was shocked by the gesture as he leaned into the kiss, his hands resting on your cheeks before you pulled away from him breathlessly.
“Y/n, I-”
“Peter.” You cut him off before giggling. “Go ahead.”
“Bug, I don’t want you to think I’m taking advantage of you and your feelings about your breakup even though I really like you and-”
You cut the boy off with another kiss, not wanting to hear what he had to say. You knew he was going to give you some speech about how you might not know what your feeling and so on, but you didn’t care. You knew that you kissed him and you liked it and that it felt more right than any date with Brad.
You pulled away, putting a hand over his mouth before he could speak as you began to instead. “Peter, I know how I feel. I like you too, okay? Now, can we just take advantage of the fact we’re some of the few people in here and just hang out?”
Peter nodded, pulling your hand off of him. “I think I’d like that.”

Honey - Spencer Reid x Fem!Reader
Summary: Spencer and the reader were very much in love during Reid’s brief stint in Pasadena. When he has to see her again on a case, he is super nervous.

PASADENA - 2002
A note from the love of your life is a lovely way to wake up.
------
When you can understand everything but yourself, finding somebody who does is like seeing a comet; disappointingly rare. My shaky hands can only be stilled by the smile of my most incandescent--in every connotation--creature, and that is you. The universe always seems to know what it is doing even if humanity does not. The stars align and move in patterns we as it’s audience do not fully understand. I think we have watched the stars so much the universe has aligned us as a favor to our poor, overestimated souls. I am so grateful!  Tolstoy noted that "We are asleep until we fall in love!” And I thank you for waking me up.
However I thought it best the favor not be returned this particular morning. You were up late last night, and looked too cute to disrupt. Do not kill me, I am getting coffee.
I love you and do not leave the bed.
-Spencer
------
Only Spencer Reid would write that on a sticky note, and only for you would he do so.
You heard the rattling of keys and a door being opened and shut as Spencer made his way back to your bedroom. The smile you saw on his face was the start of a story that ended on the upturn of your lips, revealing the two protagonists in a mad frenzy of love. As soon as he reached you, your lips pressed to his in a desperation to be impossibly closer.
“Hi.” he said.
I am thinking it's a sign
That the freckles in our eyes
Are mirror images
And when we kiss they're perfectly aligned
“Hey love.” you tucked a loose brown hair back behind his ear for a closer look at the face you adored. “Please get back in bed.”
He sighed but crawled in next to you, big nimble hands making their way across your torso to diminish the space in between you two. You nuzzled into his chest.
“Your note was beautiful.” you whispered into his ear.
A big, goofy grin spread along his face.
“I meant every word.” his voice so sweet, it sounded dipped in honey.
Honey is incredibly sticky.
-----
There had to have been a world where it all worked out.
In this world, my things never got old, and the ice cubes in my coffee never melted. I could listen to that song over and over again without draining the life out of it and I could like my hair style for more than three months.
Spencer had read to me the greatest works of the world. Words of the greatest thinkers, authors, and minds. He had an appreciation for them greater than those of the average passerby and I adored that, because so did I. Truly, our similarities are what connected us. Our minds were correlated perfectly when it came to subjectivity.
In accordance to human nature however, certain matters were never agreed upon. In particular, we argued about the future. The canyon of discrepancy so vast it tore us and our love in two. I didn’t think that was possible.
I wanted to write the book and watch the film as I lived my life and he and his arrogant over-practically thought that impossible. He thought himself an oneirocritic, but my dreams were not looking for critiques.
Like I said, Spencer read to me the greatest works of the world. And years would pass and the heartbreak and sorrow would fade, but I would always find it ironic how the last thing I ever heard in that honey soaked voice was a work of Confucius.  “Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart.”
Spencer chose to go to Washington. He took his heart and a piece of mine with him.

BAU JET - 2011
Seaver must’ve noticed my flinch when the sound of her name resonated through the jet. I’d never liked going to California, but this...this had never happened.  “That name mean something to you Reid?” She smiled, “You look kind of horrified.”
I ran my hands through my hair in a futile attempt to ground myself. “No. I just...I used to know her.”
In between the fine lines of love and hate, fell a blurry midsection where feelings came before logic and screams and whispers sounded the same. She ruled over this midsection of chaotic emotional fury.
Morgan spoke, and I quickly realized I might be falling into a conversation I really did not want to be having. “How the hell d’you know her pretty boy?”
There was no point in lying on a plane completely occupied by profilers. My best option was to clumsily dodge any direct questions about just how well I knew her.
“I’m from the West coast.”
“So are over 50 million people. You mean to tell me you know all of them?” he laughed.
“The exact estimation is actually 53,492,270. And no, I’m not saying I know all of them, Morgan. I lived in Pasadena for a year after I graduated from Caltech.”
“Okay?” Morgan questioned my previous statements relevancy.
“She went to USC. We were in the same social circle.”
Morgan laughed again, “You had a social circle?”
Emily, next to us, was presumably combing through her file.
“You, ultimate three doctorate dorky dork, were in the same circle as a film major?” she asked. “
What the hell is ‘doctorate dorky dork’ supposed to mean?
“She double majored actually. Film and political science.”
Emily double checked the file, “And Reid’s right. Per usual.”
“Reid and Prentiss, Y/L/N has agreed to talk to us in her home. She lives in the Hills. When we land, you guys go talk to her.” Hotch stated.
“Why?” I said before I could stop myself. The team sat in confused silence in reaction to my bluntness, but Hotch, like always, was not having it.
“Because we have a serial killer that is reenacting the murders in her movie, Reid.” his tone was stern and swift, with a patronizing sarcasm I supposed I deserved.
“Sorry,” I got out, “I guess I just meant..why me?”
“Well, you know her don’t you?” Rossi asked.
I was not ready to divulge the personal details between me and this girl to my entire team, so I just pursed my lips and nodded.
“Right. Sorry.”
----
Life is not a spectacle or a feast; it is a predicament. George Santayana. I was in the biggest fucking predicament I’d ever encountered in my life.
Nothing could slow the incessant, double time pounding in my chest. I was showing symptoms of the beginning of a heart attack. Hopefully I would die and never have to face this.
Fuck, don’t think that.
Have the seats in these cars always been this uncomfortable? God, is California always this hot?
I looked at Emily for half a second, and instantly recognized that keeping quiet from her was proving to be dysfunctional. I could feel her eyes burning into my brain with every profiling skill she knew.
“What are you not saying Reid?”
I sighed. “Do I have to tell you?”
“Yeah. Unless you want me to just find out on my own. It’ll be a lot less delicate.”
Here goes nothing.
“I dated her. For two years. I was very much in love with her. It ended....abruptly. I haven’t spoken to her since, and now, nine years later, I am on my way to her house. I might have a heart attack.”
Emily's eyes widened, “Shit..” She laughed a little, “Reunited at last?.”
I answered with a glare. Hard no.
“Fine, sorry.” She said, masking a giggle with a cough.
I shifted in my seat and I could practically see the gears in Emily’s profiler cerebrum spin. She knew exactly the question to ask. “Is it nerves?”
I nodded my head, “I was a very different person back then.”
“Nothing like time and the bureau can change somebody.” she said. “But, hey..”She smiled again and my eyes widened when I realized what I’d revealed. “I asked you if you were nervous. I didn’t-”
“Emily..” I started.
“Are you nervous she won’t like you now? Do you still like her?” her mouth hung open, “Oh my god Reid!”
I shook my head, “No, I don’t still like her! I don’t even know her anymore! I just..I’d never loved somebody the way I loved her.”
Emily had figured me out at the same time I had. “And you still haven’t.”
Fuck.
“Correct.”
The car pulled into her driveway, and conversations from all those years ago started to replay in my head.
“When we get a house, can we paint our front door bright blue?”
“I want a lemon tree in the front yard.”
“Windows. Huge windows. It’s a must.”
All these things I’d promised her in our future home she’d gotten for herself. Good.
Fontaine said “Sadness flies away on the wings of time”, but the pain I felt from the loss of her was as prominent as ever.
Here goes nothing.

Thank you for reading!

Draco x Potter! Reader Platonic (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Part 1 Part 2
"No (Y/n) and I'm not going to." my brother harry continued walking, not sparing me a glance.
"Please harry, I don't want to stay with Draco again." I grabbed the sleeve of his robe, causing him to turn and look at me with an annoyed glare.
"I don't care. we aren't 9 anymore, you're a Slytherin so I can't be around you (Y/N)."
"Harry-"
"Leave me alone!" he shouted then walked away. tears pricked my eyes, I looked to the ground not forgetting the look on his face. the sound of disgust when he said 'Slytherin' or the glare of annoyance when he looked at me.
he was right though. we aren't what we used to be before Hogwarts.  we aren't as close as we used to be. before we would talk for hours and we knew everything about each other. but now when I look at him all I see is the shell of the twin I used to have.
I treaded back to the common room that I now had to call home.
"So what is it, (Y/N)? are you going to be staying with me this summer again?" I looked up to see Draco looking up from the potions book he was reading.
"Yup." I popped the 'p' and made my way over to the sofa, plopping down next to him. "Harry's mad at me though." my voice somewhat quiet.
"Sorry to hear that, but it'll be okay I promise that this summer will be the best you ever had." he wrapped an arm around me. Draco was never one to show much emotion around others but I guess after having to spend 4, now 5, summers with me I guess he opened up to me a bit more. we are inseparable.
~~~~~~~~~~~
we all border the train, I got into the same compartment as Draco and some of his friends. I read the whole time, not wanting to talk to the others as we didn't get along all that much. I felt the train stop slowly. the others got up and walked out into the sea of hundreds of children. I got up, grabbing my bag after stuffing my book in it. I joined Draco at the door, walking out with him too. I saw harry walking up to Ms. Weasly with a smile on his face.
I felt unimportant watching him. it hurt to see others make harry happy. the type of happy only I could make him. it pained me to watch as he smiled when I had to sit and watch. I felt a pang as he made friends left and right while others were scared to talk to me. the girl who was misplaced.
I was pulled out of my thoughts by the feeling of Draco grabbing my hand, still looking and walking forwards. a slight smile appeared on my face as I knew there wasn't use in complaining because Draco was all I needed.
he kept his promise though. it was the best summer I ever had with him. his parents were gone the whole time (Well not gone but they mostly stayed on the top floor only coming down for food), so it was mostly spent doing dumb things in the house. we even went out to the lake nearby.
I slept in Malfoys room most of the time, rarely did I ever go into my room. I didn't want to be alone. Draco and I would watch movies in his room too, though most of the time we didn't pay attention to it. I just threw popcorn at him while he tried, sometimes succeeding, to start a tickle war. I only slept in the same bed as him four times because of nightmares, but the rest of the time was spent on the sofa.
Draco and I were watching a dumb show on the telly, me making jokes about the bad production and him telling me to shut up and that he was trying to pay attention. a soft knock was heard coming from the other side of the door. we both exchanged glances, not knowing how to go about the situation because we were alone this whole time.
"Draco?" we both looked to the door to see it cracked open. "Draco you two aren't doing anything inappropriate right?" we heard his mom say. I stifled a laugh, smiling widely from the thought.
"No! of course not!" he shot up from his spot on the sofa he didn't want to leave 5 minutes ago.
"What? am I not good enough for you?" I faked to be offended.
"It's not that, it-its just, oh you know what I mean potter!" he shouted at me playfully, smacking the back of my head while he walked to his mom in the door. "What is it you need?" he asked carefully.
"Your father and I were wondering if you and (Y/N) would like to join us upstairs, for a meeting."
"Mother I'm not sure if (Y/N) would be interested in something like that." I looked over to him, finally standing up from my spot and walking towards him.
"They insist." this time her voice changed to a more persistent one.
"Well if they insist," I said bubbly hopping on Draco's back, wrapping my arms around his shoulders. he hooked his arms under my knees, carrying me out of the room.
"you two are so cute together." I rested my chin on his head while he walked. I closed my eyes. reflecting on the past summer, august was going by so fast so far even though it was only the 3rd day. School was going to start soon and I would have as many memories to spend with Draco as much anymore.
I hear a door closing, the sound pulls me out of my thoughts. I open my eyes to see a bunch of people at the table. at the head though was a face embedded in my memories, a person I only heard of and the one that killed my parents in front of my brother and me.
Draco dropped me to the ground gently, while my eyes widened to the sight. I felt my hands shake, my back curl up to make myself as small as possible, and grabbing Draco's white button-up.
"Draco?" I whimpered, hiding my face in his shirt. he turned around and hugged me with one arm.
"It's ok." he whispered in my ear, kissing the top of my head. "you promised you wouldn't drag me into your mess."
"Yes, but once our lord heard about a potter staying here he had insisted on meeting her." I heard footsteps coming toward Draco and me, so I held on tighter in fear it was him. "Draco step back." I heard Lucius speak again. I felt hands on my shoulder, pushing me away and ripping my grip from him while taking a few steps back. I looked up at him, tears in my eyes as I stood there, paralyzed with fear. the kids at school were wrong. I couldn't possibly be a Gryffindor, I'm scared shitless right now.
"I thought you would have been stronger, less vulnerable. less emotional." I felt someone get closer to me. "you're nothing like your parents." I felt a sharp thin object press against my back.
"Don't touch her." I heard Draco, but he was quickly told to shut up by his father.
"You're nothing like your bother are you?" I felt the object move from my shoulder blade to my neck, then under my chin. I identified the object as a wand, the wand pushed my chin up to look at him. "Answer me when I ask you a question," he says sternly. I shook my head, too scared to use my words because of the lump in my throat. he grabs my face with a tough grip, pulling my face closer to his. "Your words you idiot!"
"No!" I whimpered out, tears streaming down my face. he let go roughly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I looked over at Draco, we were now at Borgin and Burks, I saw the pain and sadness, and regret in his eyes.
"(Y/N)?" I looked over at Lucius, "You're choice?"
I thought about it, even though I didn't really have to. just one look at Draco and I knew my decision. yes. of course, it was. Draco was sad that he had no choice in getting the mark or not, and there was no way in hell I was going to let him go through that alone. at least when we get put in Azkaban we go together.
"Yes." I walked up to Draco in the room, around the cauldron. I grabbed his hand and held out my arm along with him.

Hiiii, so I decided to continue my combing through the books for random specific Everlark related content series. This one is Katniss and Peeta taking care of each other. This is Part One and only includes stuff from the first book because it was getting too long. 😭😅. Anyways, hope y’all enjoy.
-
I gently unzip his jacket, unbutton his shirt and ease them off him. His undershirt is so plastered into his wounds I have to cut it away with my knife and drench him again to work it loose. He’s badly bruised with a long burn across his chest and four tracker jacker stings, if you count the one under his ear. But I feel a bit better. This much I can fix. I decide to take care of his upper body first, to alleviate some pain, before I tackle whatever damage Cato did to his leg.
-
Since treating his wounds seems pointless when he’s lying in what’s become a mud puddle, I manage to prop him up against a boulder. He sits there, uncomplaining, while I wash away all the traces of dirt from his hair and skin. His flesh is very pale in the sunlight and he no longer looks strong and stocky. I have to dig the stingers out of his tracker jacker lumps, which causes him to wince, but the minute I apply the leaves he sighs in relief. While he dries in the sun, I wash his filthy shirt and jacket and spread them over boulders. Then I apply the burn cream to his chest. This is when I notice how hot his skin is becoming. The layer of mud and the bottles of water have disguised the fact that he’s burning with fever. I dig through the first-aid kit I got from the boy from District 1 and find pills that reduce your temperature.
“Swallow these,” I tell him, and he obediently takes the medicine. “You must be hungry.”
“Not really. It’s funny, I haven’t been hungry for days,” says Peeta. In fact, when I offer him groosling, he wrinkles his nose at it and turns away. That’s when I know how sick he is.
“Peeta, we need to get some food in you,” I insist.
“It’ll just come right back up,” he says. The best I can do is to get him to eat a few bits of dried apple. “Thanks. I’m much better, really. Can I sleep now, Katniss?” he asks.
“Soon,” I promise. “I need to look at your leg first.” Trying to be as gentle as I can, I remove his boots, his socks, and then very slowly inch his pants off of him.
-
I scoot my square of plastic under him so I can wash down the rest of him. With each bottle I pour over him, the worse the wound looks. The rest of his lower body has fared pretty well, just one tracker jacker sting and a few small burns that I treat quickly. But the gash on his leg . . . what on earth can I do for that?
-
I know the tracker jacker leaves draw out infection, so I start with those. Within minutes of pressing the handful of chewed-up green stuff into the wound, pus begins running down the side of his leg.
-
“What next, Dr. Everdeen?” he asks.
“Maybe I’ll put some of the burn ointment on it. I think it helps with infection anyway. And wrap it up?” I say. I do and the whole thing seems a lot more manageable, covered in clean white cotton.
-
I help him dress, leaving his feet bare so we can walk in the water, and pull him upright. His face drains of color the moment he puts weight on his leg. “Come on. You can do this.”
But he can’t. Not for long anyway. We make it about fifty yards downstream, with him propped up by my shoulder, and I can tell he’s going to black out. I sit him on the bank, push his head between his knees, and pat his back awkwardly as I survey the area.
-
When Peeta’s able to stand, I half-guide, half-carry him up to the cave. Really, I’d like to look around for a better place, but this one will have to do because my ally is shot. Paper white, panting, and, even though it’s only just cooling off, he’s shivering.
I cover the floor of the cave with a layer of pine needles, unroll my sleeping bag, and tuck him into it. I get a couple of pills and some water into him when he’s not noticing, but he refuses to eat even the fruit. Then he just lies there, his eyes trained on my face as I build a sort of blind out of vines to conceal the mouth of the cave.
-
I check his forehead and find it burning and dry. I don’t know what to do. Leave him in the bag and hope the excessive heat breaks the fever? Take him out and hope the night air cools him off? I end up just dampening a strip of bandage and placing it on his forehead.
-
I spend the night half-sitting, half-lying next to Peeta, refreshing the bandage.
-
Peeta sits beside me, leaning against the wall, his bad leg stretched out before him, his eyes trained on the world outside. “Go to sleep,” he says softly. His hand brushes the loose strands of my hair off my forehead. Unlike the staged kisses and caresses so far, this gesture seems natural and comforting. I don’t want him to stop and he doesn’t. He’s still stroking my hair when I fall asleep.
-
I give him more fever pills and stand over him while he drinks first one, then a second quart of water. Then I tend to his minor wounds, the burns, the stings, which are showing improvement.
-
Peeta’s stretched out on top of the sleeping bag in the shade of the rocks. Although he brightens a bit when I come in, it’s clear he feels miserable. I put cool cloths on his head, but they warm up almost as soon as they touch his skin.
-
I sit back on my heels and look at him with a mixture of sadness and satisfaction. A stray berry stains his chin and I wipe it away. “Who can’t lie, Peeta?” I say, even though he can’t hear me.
-
I gingerly lift my hand to my head and find it bandaged. This simple gesture leaves me weak and dizzy. Peeta holds a bottle to my lips and I drink thirstily.
-
He doesn’t seem angry about my tricking him, drugging him, and running off to the feast. Maybe I’m just too beat-up and I’ll hear about it later when I’m stronger. But for the moment, he’s all gentleness.
-
“You need to eat. I’ll go hunting soon,” I say.
“Not too soon, all right?” he says. “You just let me take care of you for a while.”
-
Peeta feeds me bites of groosling and raisins and makes me drink plenty of water. He rubs some warmth back into my feet and wraps them in his jacket before tucking the sleeping bag back up around my chin.
-
Rain drips through several holes in the ceiling, but Peeta has built a sort of canopy over my head and upper body by wedging the square of plastic into the rocks above me.
-
“I think your wound is bleeding again. Come on, lie down, it’s bedtime anyway,” he says.
My socks are dry enough to wear now. I make Peeta put his jacket back on. The damp cold seems to cut right down to my bones, so he must be half frozen. I insist on taking the first watch, too, although neither of us think it’s likely anyone will come in this weather. But he won’t agree unless I’m in the bag, too, and I’m shivering so hard that it’s pointless to object. In stark contrast to two nights ago, when I felt Peeta was a million miles away, I’m struck by his immediacy now. As we settle in, he pulls my head down to use his arm as a pillow; the other rests protectively over me even when he goes to sleep. No one has held me like this in such a long time. Since my father died and I stopped trusting my mother, no one else’s arms have made me feel this safe.
-
I set a good dinner out, but halfway through Peeta begins to nod off. After days of inactivity, the hunt has taken its toll. I order him into the sleeping bag and set aside the rest of his food for when he wakes. He drops off immediately. I pull the sleeping bag up to his chin and kiss his forehead, not for the audience, but for me. Because I’m so grateful that he’s still here, not dead by the stream as I’d thought.
-
Although I’m shaking in the biting wind, I rip off my jacket, remove my shirt, and zip back into the jacket as swiftly as possible. That brief exposure sets my teeth chattering beyond control.
Peeta’s face is gray in the pale moonlight. I make him lie down before I probe his wound. Warm, slippery blood runs over my fingers. A bandage will not be enough. I’ve seen my mother tie a tourniquet a handful of times and try to replicate it. I cut free a sleeve from my shirt, wrap it twice around his leg just under his knee, and tie a half knot. I don’t have a stick, so I take my remaining arrow and insert it in the knot, twisting it as tightly as I dare. It’s risky business — Peeta may end up losing his leg — but when I weigh this against him losing his life, what alternative do I have? I bandage the wound in the rest of my shirt and lie down with him.
-
“Are you cold?” he asks. He unzips his jacket and I press against him as he fastens it around me. It’s a bit warmer, sharing our body heat inside my double layer of jackets, but the night is young. The temperature will continue to drop. Even now I can feel the Cornucopia, which burned so when I first climbed it, slowly turning to ice.
“Cato may win this thing yet,” I whisper to Peeta.
“Don’t you believe it,” he says, pulling up my hood, but he’s shaking harder than I am.
-
Somehow, we make it back to the lake. I scoop up a handful of the cold water for Peeta and bring a second to my lips.
-
The hovercraft materializes overhead and two ladders drop, only there’s no way I’m letting go of Peeta. I keep one arm around him as I help him up, and we each place a foot on the first rung of the ladder.
-
“It’s my fault,” I say. “Because I used that tourniquet.”
“Yes, it’s your fault I’m alive,” says Peeta.
“He’s right,” says Caesar. “He’d have bled to death for sure without it.”
I guess this is true, but I can’t help feeling upset about it to the extent that I’m afraid I might cry and then I remember everyone in the country is watching me so I just bury my face in Peeta’s shirt. It takes them a couple of minutes to coax me back out because it’s better in the shirt, where no one can see me, and when I do come out, Caesar backs off questioning me so I can recover.

Aftermath.
Supercorp, Kara Danvers x Daughter!Reader, Lena Luthor x Daughter!Reader.
Word count: 2290.
It’s been an entire week since Lena’s been home. You want to pretend that you’re fine about it, but this is insane. It’s insane, right? You had a really crazy and terrible experience involving none other than Lex freaking Luthor (who’s currently still chilling in his prison cell, probably planning other insane things), and your moms are fighting over Rao knows what.
You’ve been sad all week. And guilty. There’s no amount of ‘this isn’t your fault’ that makes this feeling go away. You just wish you could remember what happened, or at least that you could do something about it. You feel like you’re stuck inside a storm. Waiting for things to just get better already, but everyday you wake up, the sky is grey and your family is broken apart.
You hate how Kara says ‘Lena’, with guilt and pain in her voice. You hate how her eyes are constantly filled with tears. You hate when she says stuff like ‘let’s do things we never got to do’, and eats ice-cream at midnight while watching sad movies, unable to pretend she is unaffected by the whole thing. She should at least fake it, shouldn’t she?
You hate how Lena simply refuses to ask about Kara, even though you can see it in her face that she’s dying to know. You hate that she’s throwing herself into work in a non-healthy way. You hate when she pretends she’s not at all hurt and she just tries to be nonchalant about the fact that she’s not home. She should at least show you that she cares, shouldn’t she?
But the thing that you hate the most is the fact the none of them tell you anything other than that it’s not your fault. You just don’t know what started it all, how bad is it, and how long this is going to last. One thing you know for sure is that this can’t last forever. You can’t handle it.
“Hey.” Maya shakes her hand in front of your face, trying to get you to focus on her. “You cool? You’ve been acting kinda weird all week…” She nuzzles her nose in the crook of your neck, breathing deep. “And I miss your pretty smile.”
“Sorry. Just, um, things are weird at home.” But you still bring her closer hooking one arm around her back.
“I knew this day was coming.” Jamie says, sitting in front of you, on your lunch table. “It was too many ‘almost’. I knew one day you would catch your moms having sex.”
“I wish.” You whisper and they both furrow their brows at you. “I mean, I don’t. Definitely don’t want to see that, but it’s better than where they are right now.”
“They’re fighting? Wanna make them a romantic dinner again?” Jamie asks with a smile and you roll your eyes thinking about the last time you got involved. Things did not end up well.
“They are not.” You sigh. “They had a fight I know nothing about.” You raise one eyebrow at Jamie, who quickly put things together. “Then, Lena never came back home, and she’s staying in a hotel, so-”
“Holy fuck, babe.” Maya straightens up right away to look at you. “That’s messed up. I’m so sorry.”
“They’ll be fine.” Jamie dismisses both of you with her hand. “Honestly, your moms are so in love with each other. And besides, haven’t they gone through, like, way worse stuff in their relationship and totally got over it?”
“I guess.” You shrug, still not convinced. She’s right, they have. But you were never in the middle. “But I can’t shake the feeling that it was my fault.”
“You can’t make two people fight and don’t remember.” Maya says trying to ease your mind, unaware that in your life that’s actually more common than she would think.
“It’ll be fine.” Jamie ends the subject, so none of you spill important information and you try to distract yourself.
You fail.
“Hey, do you want to work on your robotics project today?” Maya asks and you furrow your brows. Wow, you didn’t even remember you had that going on in your life. “It could help you take your mind off… You know.”
Moms fighting and maybe never getting back together? Yeah, you don’t think so.
“Um… Maybe next week.” You shrug. “There’s still time.”
“Well, then maybe we could go to my house and play video game.” Jamie suggests looking at Maya, who shakes her head agreeing. “You can show Maya that game you made.”
“Sounds fun, but I’m really not in the mood.” You sigh and look at them staring at each other, trying to come up with something else. You give them a little smile. “Really guys, I’m fine. I just want to go home and chill with Kara a little. I feel like she needs me.”
“Ok, babe.” Maya kisses your cheek lightly and whispers. “I’m here. You can talk to me if you want, or not talk. I’m still here, ok?”
“Thanks babe.” You smile at her, and then at Jamie on the other side.
“Whatever it’s best for you, little Danvers.” Jamie adds.
Nothing is best for you right now. Except Kara and Lena’s happiness.
And they are definitely not happy. There’s no amount of ‘let’s fly around the house’, ‘let’s build something together in your lab’, from any of them that can fake that. And so if they’re not happy, you are in the same situation.
“You have to clean your bedroom.” Kara says when she opens the door, at night, and you look up from your books. “An alien could be hiding under that absurd amount of clothes in the corner, and you would never know.”
“Let it have a home.” You shrug.
“No, no ‘let it’. Baby.” Kara comes close and holds your hands. “I know you miss your mom, but there’s no reason why we will just stop doing stuff we normally do because of that.”
Tell that to all the showers you’ve been skipping since she was gone. Tell that to the meals you have been skipping all week. Tell that to your sad face.
“So, your bedroom is tidy and clean?” You raise an eyebrow and she lets out a chuckle.
“I love you. Did you know that?” She kisses your hand and smiles. “I’m so glad you exist.”
“You’ve been saying that a lot lately. Maybe you miss saying that to someone else?” You raise one eyebrow at her, and she gives you an extremely sad smile.
“Same eyebrows move.” She winks at you and you know she’s talking about Lena and how this is literally her move. “Come on, let’s eat something. And you can clean your room before bed.”
“How do you feel having to tell me to clean my room?” You ask, following her to the kitchen and she laughs.
“Like a mother.” She smiles harder at that, and you roll your eyes. She’s such a dork.
Kara goes through the cabinets and fridge to find out that if you two were in an apocalyptic situation, you wouldn’t survive a day with the food in your house. She promises she’ll go grocery shopping the next day (which you only half believe), and you both decide to go with instant noodles.
“So, um, mom texted and she asked me if I wanted to go spend the night at the hotel with her.” You tell Kara while she looks at the boiling water with puzzling eyes. “I don’t want to leave you alone, but I kind of feel sad that she’s all alone there too, and like-”
“You should go.” Kara cuts you off, still interested in the pot in front of her. “Do we put it on now?”
“Are you seriously asking me how to make instant noodles?” You smile, rolling your eyes playfully. “Scootch.” You bump your hips on hers, and take control. “So, you’re going to be fine here alone?”
“Of course!” Kara smiles and you look at her to see how real she’s being. You look for any signs of her sadness being too much. You look for watery eyes, pouts, anything. “It’s one night. I’m not a toddler, I can go one night alone.”
“Well…” you think about making fun of her, but you bite your tongue. “I just want to make sure you won’t go ‘sad burrito’ on the couch.”
“I won’t go ‘sad burrito’.” She promises. “I might wrap myself and blankets to watch TV, but I promise not to be sad about it.”
“Maybe you should go to aunt Alex’s house.” You say, and Kara holds your face between her hands, squeezing it gently.
“I’ll be fine. Go see Lena. You know that if she asked for it, she really needs you.” Kara kisses your forehead. “Go give her some love.”
“You can come too…” You raise your eyebrows a few times, but stop when you see Kara’s sad expression. “Fine. I’ll see you tomorrow, sunflower.”
“See you tomorrow, little one.” Kara smiles. You hesitate, looking behind you a few times, but Kara shoos you with her hands, so you fly off to Lena’s hotel.
Talk about weird! Lena living in a hotel room it’s the definition of ‘something is wrong with the world’.
“That’s, um, nice.” You say, when you go inside the room and Lena chuckles, wrapping her arms around you, and kissing the top of your head.
“It’s temporary. I didn’t have time to look for a real place.” She gives you a smile, and strokes your cheek gently while fully analyzing you. “Have you lost weight?”
“Unlikely.” It’s your answer, but it’s a lie. You probably did lose some weight, since Kara simply forgets to eat, and she’s surviving on ice-cream and whatever is left in the fridge for a week. And you just don’t want to bother her with the fact that you need to eat, because you’re a freaking alien and you eat like one.
It doesn’t matter what you say anyway, because Lena knows the truth, so she is definitely ignoring you and calling for room service. She orders so much food, you have to tell her to stop. You! Of all people!
“So-” She lets out, like a breath, while sitting on the couch next to you, and wrapping her arms around your shoulders. “How are you?”
“Scared.” You fall further into her comfort, and breathe in her familiar smell. Home and flowers. “I don’t want our lives to be like this from now on. I-I know it’s my fault-”
“Not your fault.” She interrupts you. But it doesn’t matter, because you don’t believe her.
“Tell me how I can make things better. Tell me how I can fix this.” You ask, and Lena tights the hug kissing your head a couple of times.
“My baby.” She sounds like she’s about to cry, and you’re already too far gone. Tears streaming down your face non-stop. “Stop taking everything upon your hands. This problem is not yours to fix. And you have done nothing wrong to have to make things better.”
“I think you’re forgetting that I burned my training center to the ground?” You look back at her, and she cleans your tears. And then hers.
“That wasn’t you. You know that damn well.” Lena says with a serious expression. “Lex was responsible for all of that. And now you’re back, and you have nothing to worry about, ok?”
“But mom, if Lex knows he can use me, won’t he try that again? And maybe be more successful this time?”
“Remember when I believed your thoughts blocker was a mind wiper?” She asks, making you agree with your head. “Turns out, it could be a mind wiper with a few changes. So, I did them, and now he doesn’t even remember you.” She smiles softly. “You’re safe now. He won’t do that again. And if he ever tries anything, your momma and I will stop him, ok?”
“How did he know about me in the first place?”
“Lillian. But she won’t talk about you with him ever again.”
“Did you make her forget about me too?” You ask, almost sad about it. You don’t want Lillian to forget about you. You like seeing her eventually, and she’s being so nice lately.
“No, baby. She wouldn’t do anything that could harm you.” Lena says with a smile, putting your hair behind your ears, and you furrow your eyebrows at her. “Lillian has done a lot of terrible things, but none of them it’s destroying the family name. And you, babygirl, might be a kryptonian, but you’re also a Luthor.”
“So, you trust her?”
“Well, she has proven herself in the last few days, so… With you? Yes.” That makes you smile a little, and when you hear a knock on the door and you see food on the other side of it, that makes you smile even more.
Staying with Lena one night is not enough. You can see it on her face that she needs more than that. But when you fly back home in the morning to get ready for school, and you find Kara sleeping on the couch, all wrapped up in blankets definitely looking like a ‘sad burrito’, you know she can’t be alone either.
You wish you could divide yourself in two and be with them all the time. You wish they would just talk. And you wish you could turn back time and undo whatever mess you made while you were mind controlled. But you can’t do either. So, you just hope that what you can do for now is enough. And you pray to Rao this storm ends sooner than later.

Okay so, um, I hope you don’t mind me requesting something! ^.^ 💕 You always support me and I wanna support you too!
So, Uraraka and Ojiro. Fluff & Tickles. The idea is that Uraraka is stressed out and one way she copes is by coloring, and Bakugou or whoever sees her and teases her, then Ojiro defends her and says like, it’s fine to be a kid sometimes, bc they’ve grown up pretty fast. And so like, the next day they go to a park and swing, he gets her ice cream, then they go back to the dorm and color while watching cartoons, and then a tickle scene happens on the cartoon, and then it leads to him tickling her and hugs and cuddles and friendship. Aaaaa 🙈
To Be a Kid Again (BNHA)
Ojiro wants to show Uraraka that it’s okay to be a kid again sometimes.
Pairings: Platonic Uraraka and Ojiro
Warnings: Bakugou being a jerk, some light angst
Word count: 1.9k
A/N: Omg this is such a cute pairing!! I've never even considered them together, either as friends or as partners. What would their ship name be? Ojiraka? Also, I've never written for either of them, so I hope this is okay!
Uraraka was tired. It had been a long day at school, and despite the fact that it was only Wednesday, she was more than ready for the weekend.
After changing out of her uniform and grabbing a couple items from her room, Uraraka flopped down onto one of the couches of the commons with a heavy sigh. She really didn’t have anything to do now that classes were over for the day. She’d already finished her homework and dinner wasn’t for another or hour or so. Despite how exhausted she was, she had just enough energy left to do one of her favorite activities to pass the time: coloring.
She didn’t know why exactly, but something about sitting down and letting herself get lost in the mindlessness of coloring had always been soothing to her. So there she was, sitting on the couch crisscross, using her knee as a table and getting to work. After a few minutes, the brain fog that had been plaguing Uraraka the last couple of hours began to disappear, and her mind was back as ease.
That was, until Bakugou came into the room. Looking just as tired and grumpy as she felt, Bakugou was about to head up to his room when Uraraka accidentally caught his eye.
“What are you looking at, Round Face?”
She quickly looked back down at her lap in alarm. “N-Nothing. Sorry.”
Bakugou continued to glare her way when he noticed the book in her lap and the pile of markers next to her. He came a few feet closer, eyeing it suspiciously.
“Tch. What are you, five years old?”
“Wh… what do you mean?”
At this time, Ojiro had just entered the commons and was just about to step into the elevator when the other students’ conversation caught his attention.
“Coloring books? Seriously? That shit’s for babies.”
Uraraka felt her cheeks start to burn.
“Hey, hey!” Ojiro jogged over to see what the commotion was about. Bakugou tended to pick fights pretty easily. “What’s going on here?”
Bakugou just crossed his arms and scowled at him.
Ojiro looked down at Uraraka, whose ears and cheeks were painted red. He then noticed the art supplies surrounding her. “Is he giving you a hard time?”
Uraraka just looked back and forth between the two of them, not daring to say anything.
“I heard you say something was ‘for babies,’” Ojiro turned to Bakugou with a stern look on his face. “You weren’t talking about coloring, were you?”
Again, silence.
“It’s really not, you know. People draw and color all the time! Besides, even if it was, what’s wrong with that? Everyone should be allowed to do things they enjoy, especially something as harmless as coloring. I don’t see what the problem is.”
“The problem is that we’re trying to be heroes!” Bakugou shot back. “Heroes shouldn’t be doing childish shit like that! If you really wanted to be a hero you’d be out training!”
Ojiro sighed, a little exasperated. “Of course training is important. But rest is important too. Doing things you love is important. If you don’t take the time to be a kid and let loose a little, you’re going to burn out. No pun intended, in your case, Bakugou.” Ojiro smiled, a little teasingly.
“Ugh, whatever,” Bakugou relented and headed back towards the elevator. “Whatever it’ll take for you to shut up and stop lecturing me.”
Uraraka and Ojiro both snickered at that, and in a few moments, it was just the two of them.
“Sorry about that,” Ojiro said apologetically. “Bakugou can be a real pain sometimes.”
“No kidding,” she agreed. “Um… thanks. You really didn’t have to do that. I’m sure I would’ve been okay on my own.”
“Of course you would have! But what are friends for?” Ojiro smiled brightly, holding out his hand. Uraraka smiled back and accepted the hand up. “You hungry? I think it’s about time for dinner.”
~~~
The next day was just as hard, though Uraraka did feel a little better after a good night’s sleep.
After dinner the previous night, Ojiro had asked if she’d want to hang out the next day after classes, in attempt to keep tabs on her since her fight with Bakugou. She assured him she was fine, but he insisted that it was his treat, so she obliged.
“So where are we going?” Uraraka asked walking next to Ojiro on the sidewalk.
“I’m taking you to one of my favorite places.” The two entered a chain link-fenced area.
“…a playground?”
“Yep! This was one of my favorite places in the world as a kid, and it still is. Come on! Let’s swing!”
And before she could argue, Ojiro grabbed her hand and tugged her along towards the swing set. Thankfully there wasn’t anyone else around, so they had the place to themselves.
“So,” Uraraka started, swinging her legs a little. “Why are we doing this exactly? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love hanging out! But where is this coming from?”
Ojiro laughed and rubbed the back of his neck, a little sheepish. “I was thinking, well… I wanted to show you that’s it’s okay to be a kid. To let loose a little. You seemed like you needed it, especially after what happened yesterday.”
Uraraka’s heart warmed at that. She really couldn’t ask for better classmates as friends.
Ojiro’s expression dropped to something a little more serious. “I’ve realized that we’ve all had to grow up so fast in these last few years. It makes me kind of sad.”
“Why is that?” Uraraka questioned.
“Don’t you miss this kind of stuff?” He gestured to the rest of the play set. “As much as I hate it, I think you and I both know there’s some truth to what Bakugou said yesterday. Heroes are supposed to be constantly training, constantly trying to grow and improve their skills. All that’s great, but it leaves no room to be what we actually are… teens. Kids. Don’t you ever feel like you grew up too fast?”
Uraraka couldn’t help but think about her parents. How, as just a little girl, barely old enough to go to school, she committed to helping them make money in any way she could. All the experiences she’d missed out on when she was younger due to her family’s financial situation. “Yeah… I guess I do.”
Ojiro offered a sympathetic smile. “That’s why it’s times like these, in the little spare moments we have to ourselves, that we can take the time to indulge that inner child.”
Uraraka took a moment to digest his words. “I think I understand now.” Then, in a small, hopeful voice: “Maybe... a-after we’re done here, we could... um... get some ice cream?”
Ojiro grinned. “I thought you’d never ask.” He hopped off his swing. “Race ya!”
“Hey, no fair!” Uraraka laughed and chased after him.
~~~
After getting their ice cream—strawberry for Uraraka and vanilla for Ojiro—the two friends happily walked back to the dorms together.
“By the way,” Ojiro said, “I never got the chance to tell you, but I saw your coloring book, and well… it looks really good!”
“Oh!” Uraraka looked down, a little embarrassed. “Hah, thanks…”
He could tell she did believe him. “I’m being serious! I think it’s really cool that you’re into that kind of stuff. Have you always liked coloring? You seem to be good at it.”
“Yeah, but I really can’t take much credit. I mean, it’s just filling in the shapes. It’s not like I drew it,” she reasoned, licking her ice cream.
“Hey, I can hardly stay in the lines, so it’s impressive to me.”
Uraraka laughed, knowing he was probably just saying that to make her feel good, but she appreciated it nonetheless.
“Thank you,” she said, speaking as sincere as possible. They had made it back to the common area of the dorms where they stood, waiting to depart to their own rooms. “For everything.”
Ojiro realized she thought he had brought her back here to say goodbye. “Hey, if you want, you can hang in my room.”
“Really?”
“Yeah! We could watch TV, or if you have homework to work on, I won’t bother you.”
She smiled. “I’d love that. Thanks again, Ojiro, you’re the best.” She threw her arms around him in a tight hug. Ojiro was a little taken aback, but quickly returned the gesture.
The two friends sat comfortably on his bed with their backs against the wall. The TV droned on in the background, mostly forgotten, as they chatted about school and their weekend plans.
Once the conversation died out, they settled down to watch what was playing on the screen, falling into comfortable silence. One of the characters poked the other, making them jump back and laugh. Ojiro smiled at the scene and stole a quick glance at Uraraka to see how she was doing, just in time to see her blush a little at the sight. It was so brief, if he hadn’t looked at just the right moment he would’ve missed it.
Suddenly feeling mischievous, Ojiro darted his hands to Uraraka’s sides and began squeezing, making her squeal and fall back on the bed in a fit of happy giggles.
“Ohohjiroho! Eeeep! Whaha—Why? Hahaha!”
“Because! I wanna hear you laugh! Didn’t I tell you to start letting loose?”
Uraraka was too weak and giddy to respond or do much more than weakly bat his hands in a half-hearted attempt.
Ojiro made the mistake of coming closer to get better purchase on her ribs, and Uraraka pushed through the tickly feeling just enough to be able to reach a hand up and scratch at the base of his spine, making him yelp and jerk away. This gave Uraraka just enough time to gain the upper hand by pushing him down and straddling his waist with her knees.
“Uraraka, wa-HAHAHAIT!” he burst into loud belly laughter as she began kneading up and down his torso the same way he had done to her.
“Maybe you should start taking your own advice, Ojiro!” she laughed with him. “Come on, you shouldn’t be afraid of being a kid again, right? Tickle tickle!”
This made his cheeks turn bright red and his laugh go a few pitches higher.
Uraraka was feeling all-powerful with Ojiro now at her mercy. That was, until she felt a soft, feathery feeling against her neck and under her chin, making her flinch and snort.
“Ohohoh my gohohosh, you snohorted!” Ojrio teased through his own laughter.
“N-no fahahair!” Uraraka stammered out as best she could. “You shohouldn’t be allowed t-to use your tahahail!”
“Wehehell too bahad! I’m using it!”
The two stayed like that, trying to out-tickle each other—Uraraka going at his ribs and belly, and Ojiro trying his best to throw her off using his tail to brush all over her neck and sides, both laughing hysterically. Eventually Uraraka was weakened just enough for Ojiro to get her back one last time before they both collapsed in exhaustion.
“Jeez, you don’t give up easy, do you?” Uraraka panted, a big smile still on her face.
“No,” Ojiro agreed. “But you held out pretty long too, I’m impressed.”
After finally catching their breath, Uraraka opened her arms in offering. “Cuddles?”
Ojiro couldn’t have refused the offer if he tried. “Heh. Yeah, cuddles.”
He scooted closer and wrapped his arms around her torso, leaning his head into her shoulder. She wrapped her arms around him in return, resting her head atop his.
And there they stayed for the rest of the evening.

Happier ~ Bakugou X Reader
TRIGGER WARNING:
ANGST
DEPRESSION
BREAKUP
SAD
HEARTBREAK
FIGHTING
I wrote this last night as I listened to Happier by Olivia Rodrigo. I'm not sure if I'm happy with how I ended this as I was high on ambien lol but yeah it is what it is. enjoy! ~ Brooke
We broke up a month ago, your friends aren’t mine, you know, I know you’ve moved on, Found someone new
One month. The longest month I had ever lived through. It was pure agony. Watching you walk through the halls at school, joking to your friends, acting like you could care less. I mean what did I expect from the school's biggest asshole. But you weren’t one to me, were you? You were sweet and loving. I don’t understand how you could just turn that off. That’s what hurts the most right now. I pull myself together every morning hoping its easier but it never is. This pity, anger and sadness is ripping through my heart leaving a softball sized hole in its wake. And I’m worried that I'll never be able to fix it.
One more girl who brings out the better in you, and I thought my heart was attached, for all the sunlight of our past, but she’s so sweet, she’s so pretty, does she mean you forgot about me?
I was standing by my locker the first time I saw her and you. You were walking my way, arm wrapped around her shoulders. My eyes met yours for a moment before you smirked. The same smirk you used to give me when you were teasing me. But this time there was this look in your eye that I couldn’t place. It only lasted for a second before you looked away and that’s when I saw her. Blonde hair, long legs, big brown eyes that could take your breath away...they did mine. She was gorgeous. Camie is her name, right? It makes sense. She smiles brightly at me as if she doesn’t know that I used to stand where she stood. I’m not sure who I feel worse for, me or her. Will you do to her what you did to me?
Oh, I hope you’re happy but not like how you were with me, I’m selfish, I know, I can’t let you go, so find someone great but don’t find no one better, I hope your happy but don’t be happier
Was it wrong of me to stare? To wish that I was her? It made it worse knowing how it felt to feel your lips against mine, how you would always grip my hand when the school halls got full. That’s what eats me alive inside. It hurts so bad that I feel like I won't recover. How am I supposed to let you go? Do you even think of me at all anymore? Do you see me when you glance at me in the halls? Or do I blend in with the nameless faces that you don’t care to learn? I want to scream, yell at you. Demand why. Why did you do this to us? What did I do? And now here you are a month later with someone new. Are you doing it to hurt me? Or is she just another toy to you?
And do you tell her she’s the most beautiful girl you’ve ever seen? An eternal love bullshit you know you’ll never mean, remember when I believed you meant it when you said it first to me? And now I’m picking her apart, like cutting her down make you miss my wretched heart. But she’s beautiful, she looks kind, she probably gives you butterflies.
I saw you two today. School had let out early due to practical exams. I was headed to my favorite book shop when I saw you both sitting at a table at the café next door. Your hair was ruffling through the breeze and I swear I could smell your cologne. I miss that. How it used to engulf me and make me feel safe. You would wrap your arms around me and I was home. You had the same smug and irritated look on your face that you always have. I could tell you were talking; I think she wanted to show you something. She pulled her bag from her lap to take something out but suddenly a coffee cup was knocked over, spilling coffee everywhere. I was expecting you to freak out, get mad, scream and call her a dumb ass like you used to do when I would mess up. But you didn’t. You smiled at her and reassured her it was okay, while helping her clean it up. After, I guess the mood had shifted. I could tell she was still upset. She stood up after a few minutes to get a refill but she was stopped when you pulled her down into your lap and poked at her cheeks. You whispered something in her ear that made her smile. I turned away when I saw you tickle her sides and laugh along when she giggled. That was the worst, because I knew in that moment that this wasn’t for show. This was real for you and her. I'd never forget us and what we had but I could let you go be happy. That's all I ever wanted for you.
I hope you’re happy, but not like how you were with me. I’m selfish, I know, I can’t let you go. So, find someone great but don’t find no one better. I hope you’re happy, I wish you all the best, really. Say you love her, baby, just not like how you loved me. And think of me fondly when your hands are on her. I hope you’re happy, but don’t be happier
I’m trying hard to keep my distance from you. She doesn’t deserve it and I know you probably don’t want me around. I can’t help it. I'm drawn to you. But I know I have to let you go. You need to be happy, to live and be free. So just promise me that you’ll think of me. That’ll you remember how we laughed so much that one night our sides were sore the next day. Remember our first kiss under the stars in the park, how it felt, how you said my lips tasted like strawberries. Don’t forget that. It keeps our love and what we had alive. Knowing that is the only way I'll ever be able to get through this. The only way I'll ever be able to let you go. Maybe in time it’ll get easier. Maybe I could see you and smile one day, remembering what we had and maybe it won’t hurt. It’ll feel bitter sweet. Because I'll know that I helped you find who you were meant to be with.
I hope you’re happy, just not like how you were with me. I’m selfish, I know, can’t let you go. So, find someone great, don’t find no one better. I hope you’re happy, but don’t be happier

Maple Leaves and Moving In

SPENCER REID X DEREK MORGAN
read on ao3
Summary: Derek and Spencer move in together in mid-September.
Word Count: 936
Category: fluff
Content Warnings: none :)
A/N: happy fall everyone!!
“Spencer!” Derek exclaimed as he got out of the car, “You’re gonna hurt yourself carrying all of those boxes, let me do it.”
“Fine, but I have to tell you where to put them!”
After a year and a half of dating, Derek had finally asked Spencer to move in. Derek wrote a whole speech and took Spencer out to a fancy dinner just for her to blurt out “Yes!” as soon as he asked. Spencer let him finish his speech anyway, letting his words make her smile until her face hurt.
Derek carried the box, marked with Spencer’s threadbare handwriting, into his newly finished development and up into Spencer’s new study, designed specifically for her. Bookshelves ran all the way up and down the walls, with a moveable ladder attached. Spencer followed behind him with a second box, marked “stuffed animals.” She places it in a small nook in the corner, where she plans to put a bright blue bean bag chair.
“Alright, a moving truck is coming in later with all of the furniture I ordered, how about you put up all of your books and I’ll get the rest of the boxes from the car?”
Spencer nodded and rolled up the sleeves of her sweater. She opened up the box Derek had brought in and took out all of the books. She organized them alphabetically, got up on the ladder, and started placing all of the books on the shelf. When Derek came in with another two boxes of books she organized those as well. By the time she was done, Derek had ordered take out for the two of them.
They sat down on the floor of the new study and began eating together, watching the late october sun go down through the large window on the left wall.
“I have to fly out tomorrow to Washington to give a speech. Are you gonna be okay here by yourself? I know it’s your day off.”
“Yeah, I’m sure I can find something to do with all these boxes,” Spencer smiled, “I just wish you could stay, it would be amazing if we could have a halloween themed housewarming party!”
“Ah, that would be pretty great.”
They finished their meal and shortly after the moving van came into their driveway. Derek and the moving men brought in all of the furniture, including the rest of Spencer’s books and her bean bag chair. While Derek set up the king sized bed on the second floor Spencer arranged her stuffed animals all around the bean bag chair.
“You’re getting settled in pretty fast,” Derek said when he came down the stairs and into the study, seeing Spencer cuddled up with a book in her corner.
“Yeah,” Spencer smiles, “It’ll be less homey without you tomorrow, so I figure I should get used to it for now.”
“Come on sweet girl, I don’t have to go until early tomorrow, we should spend as much time together as possible.”
“Okay, I guess,” Spencer smiles up at her boyfriend and moves to the side, letting him settle next to her in the blue bean bag chair.
The two cuddle together in the comfy chair, and at some point while Derek is running his fingers through Spencer’s hair and as she’s reading, the two fall asleep next to each other.
In the morning, Spencer wakes up alone. A little sad, she sees that her book had been placed on the table next to her, a bookmark on the page she had been reading. She got up from the bean bag and observed the books around her. She mentally prepared herself for the day ahead and went into the kitchen.
She made herself a quick breakfast of toast, eggs, and bacon, along with a small bowl of fruit. After eating, she went back into the study and began sorting the books one by one. On each shelf she organized them alphabetically and by length. She ended up finishing up right around lunch time, and after eating her second meal of the day she went up to the bedroom and sorted some of the boxes in there, then the bathroom, and so on.
In the living room she found a box labeled “Holidays.” Upon opening it, she found a bundle of fake autumn leaves, miniature pumpkins, along with other assorted seasonal decorations. With a new burst of energy, Spencer called Penelope.
Many hours later, specifically around 11:30, Derek sluggishly carried his suitcase up to the new house, stopping to look around at the browning and yellowing leaves on the ground. A symbol of change.
When he walked into the house he saw that there were still boxes around the house, however most of them were empty now. He set his suitcase on the ground and walked into the living room.
“Spence?”
Out of seemingly nowhere, Spencer jumped up behind him, wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug. The lights turned on, showing the fall decorations all around the house.
“Hey there sweet girl, I see you’ve been working hard.”
“Mhm, Penny came over and helped, but it was mostly me,” Spencer smiled proudly.
“Well you two did an amazing job, it looks great,” Derek kissed her on the forehead, “Let’s both get to bed now, yeah?”
Spencer nodded and they held hands and walked up the stairs. They settled into the flowery sheets together and cuddled, Spencer nuzzled into Derek’s neck.
“Spence?”
“Yeah?”
“I love you. I’m glad that you feel safe enough to live with me.”
“I love you too Derek.”
“Goodnight, my butterfly.”
“Goodnight, my love.”

↠↞
Just before your final year of college, you moved into a new apartment—well, your part of a shared house that had been made into several apartments. There was another one on the ground floor with yours, and then two upstairs. It was clean, with lovely light and a surprisingly nice kitchen. Your bedroom was nicely proportioned, too, with amazing closet space. The bathroom adjoined your neighbor’s, and there was even a little door that connected the two, for some reason. You quickly found that you had to leave the window open, even just a crack, to air out the room—an old house meant no ventilation fan. Occasionally, the proximity to your neighbor made it a little weird when you ended up taking a shower at the same time because he sang in the shower. On more than one occasion, you had to stop yourself from joining in.
You later found out that said neighbor was a music student at the same university as you, and you were sure you would have never met him if he hadn’t been your neighbor. He didn’t hang out with the same people as you, didn’t have any of the same classes, seemed to spend all his time shut up in his apartment occasionally strumming on a guitar, and was just generally an introvert. He did seem to have two best friends whose laughter you heard through the walls on a regular basis.
On the second day you lived there, a Friday, he knocked on your door, a mango in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other.
“Hi, I’m Jisung,” he chirped. “I live next door. I brought you a house-warming gift—sorry it isn’t fancier. Hope you like it!” Jisung thrust the wine and mango into your surprised hands and then darted away to the other side of the house before you could even invite him in. You just stood there for a solid two minutes, staring into nothing with the mango and bottle of wine.
Wow, he was hot. Shit.
For the rest of the day, you went about your business, unpacking and arranging your things. The bottle of wine drew your eye but you resisted temptation, knowing that you wouldn’t get anything done if you opened it in the mid-afternoon. Occasionally, you heard music or slightly worrying thumps from Jisung’s apartment. But, you’d only just moved in and didn’t know him well enough to feel comfortable going to check on him. Surely he was fine, right?
Around 6 pm, you gave in and got the bottle of wine. Rummaging in one of the boxes still lounging on the kitchen floor, you found a wine glass, and miraculously, the bottle opener, too. As you poured out the liquid, it smelled fruity and a little sweeter than you normally liked wine, but it was a gift and you’d been working all day. You couldn’t pass up free alcohol. And perhaps because you’d been moving in all day, the wine tasted delicious and you soon poured yourself another glass. Thinking there had to be a reason for Jisung including a mango, of all things, with the wine, you sliced it and ate a few pieces in between sips of wine. The combination was perfect, and you wondered how Jisung had discovered such a lovely pairing.
As you settled in for evening, your thoughts strayed to your new neighbor. He seemed nice enough, albeit a bit shy, and was thoughtful enough to bring a housewarming present. That had to count for something. But what you couldn’t get out of your head was just him—the way his eyes sparkled with mischief, the way his hair swooped around his face. And with the hoodie that practically swallowed him whole, Jisung was absolutely the cutest, most handsome guy you’d ever seen.
Pausing the show you were watching on your computer, you had to take a few deep breaths to calm your racing heart. You’d only just met the man, and you hadn’t even said anything! How could you be falling for him already? Heck! Giving up completely, you decided to go to bed . . . on the sofa you were currently occupying because you hadn’t set up your bed yet.
 ↠↞
Three months later, you were successfully moved in and your classes were in full-swing. You’d seen Jisung a few times as you came and went from your apartment, but you hadn’t really talked much. You were okay with that, though—classes were busy and it wasn’t as if there was some mystical Book of Rules for New Neighbors that you had to read and follow directions from. When you did talk, though, he was perfectly nice, making sure to ask how you were doing and actually listening to what you had to say—a rare quality, you’d found. He always gave you a toothy grin that seemed to light up his whole body, too.
Your door knocker barely ever got used, which was why when very loud knocking echoed through your apartment on Saturday, you were sure the apocalypse was coming. Cautiously, thinking of all the bad things that could happen if the person on the other side of the door meant you harm, you opened your front door. Revealed on the threshold was Jisung, along with two other young men who could only be the best friends you heard so often.
“Hey, Y/N,” Jisung said, moving slightly to the side so you could see his companions. “So, I figured I’d introduce you to my friends, since they’re around a lot. Also, I usually ask one or both of them watch the apartment when I’m gone sometimes.”
“Oh. Okay,” was all you could manage while being stared at by three highly attractive young men.
“Can we . . . come in?” Jisung asked hesitantly.
“Um, yeah sure,” you said, blinking, and moved out of the way.
So that was how you ended up with Jisung and his two best friends lounging on the couch in your apartment. They seemed perfectly at home, not noticing or simply not caring about the mess of books and mugs on your coffee table, nor the—
Oh shit, the laundry.
Your laundry—underpants, bras, and all—was hanging on a drying rack in the corner of your living room under the window. You scurried over to the rack and quickly threw a towel, which had been catching any rain that happened to fall on your windowsill, over the clothes. Turning round, you found the guys looking at you. You smiled nervously, knowing you were blushing.
Jisung put his head in his hands. You felt like doing the same thing just then.
“So, let me guess,” said the one sitting on Jisung’s left, leaning forward and resting his elbows on his knees. “You’re name’s Reina, right? Since you’re lovely as a queen?”
You burst out laughing. You couldn’t believe someone had actually just used such a ridiculous pick-up line on you. “Sorry to disappoint,” you said, still giggling. “My name’s Y/N.”
“Oh well,” Chan said in mock-sadness, “that’s a pretty name, too. Just about as pretty as you!”
“Chan, fucking hell, man,” Jisung groaned. “Can you not flirt with every single person I introduce you to?”
“Sorry, ’Sung.” He still winked at you, though.
“Yeah. Okay.” Jisung addressed you again. “So this,” he pointed at the one he’d called ‘Chan,’ “is Chan. And the other dork who insists on being friends with me is Changbin. They’re also studying music composition and production.”
“Nice to meet you. And honestly,” you added conspiratorially, “I don’t understand why you’d want to be around Jisung either. Did you know he sings in the shower?”
Now it was Chan and Changbin’s turn to burst out laughing, falling onto the sofa’s arms.
“Jisung, your neighbor’s cool!” Changbin chuckled once he got himself under control. “Why didn’t you introduce us sooner?"
Jisung blushed faintly and grumbled something about not getting the chance. He’s really cute when he blushes, you thought.
“But yeah, we’re the bane of the Music Department’s existence,” Changbin said cheerfully. His voice was slightly husky, but somehow melodious, too.
“Just call us 3racha—because we’re spicy like Sriracha sauce!”
“Chan!” Jisung hissed, shoving his friend but he couldn’t wipe the grin off Chan’s face. Even though he seemed determined to be the cheesiest person ever, you noticed that Chan had extremely cute dimples and kind eyes.
“Wow, you three really are something,” you observed, with only a hint of sarcasm tinging your voice. “Jisung, did you really just come over and insist on coming into my apartment just to introduce your friends? Or, did you need something?” It came out slightly harsher than you’d meant it, but still. He’d practically barged in!
“Um, yeah, pretty much,” Jisung said. “Like I said, I wanted you to at least know who the people coming and going were.”
“And if you ever need anything,” Changbin added, “we’ve got you.”
“Thanks?” you said, not quite sure how they’d be able to help you, since you’d a) only just met them, and b) didn’t have any way to contact them. Although, Changbin did have a quiet confidence about him that was actually quite reassuring.
Jisung sighed, a little fidgety. “Well, I think we’ve trespassed on your time long enough. Let me know if the music’s too loud, okay?”
All four of you stood at the same time, Changbin leading the way to the door. “See you later, Y/N,” he said. “It was lovely to finally meet the person we’ve been hearing so much about.” And then he winked, too.
What was with these guys and winking? you groused to yourself, trying to keep ahold of your expression. Wait, he didn’t mean… oh fucking hell. Judging by Changbin’s smirk that’s exactly what he’d meant. Why did the walls have to be so thin? Why!
Clearly exercising all the self-control he had, Chan just waved and said “Bye” on the way out. Jisung stopped as he was halfway out your door.
“Sorry this was unexpected, Y/N. I just thought you’d like to get to know them.” Jisung smiled a little sadly, and with that, carefully shut your door after himself.
You let out a breath you didn’t know you’d been holding just as a small scuffle broke out on your front step. You could almost hear Jisung berating his friends for something. Running a hand through your hair and massaging a temple in the process, you walked back over to sit on the couch. As you continued massaging your head, your eyes were caught by a folded piece of paper on the coffee table.
Strange, you thought, I don’t remember ever having that pattern of note paper. You picked it up and opened it to see. . .
Wow, the audacity.
One of the guys had left all three of their numbers for you on that slip of paper. Chan’s even had a heart next to his. They really had some nerve. Then again, you weren’t exactly complaining that three hot guys had just left you their numbers. You never knew when that could come in handy.
↠↞
You were finally snuggled in bed when you heard a crash. You went stiff for a moment, thinking through the various things that could have made that sound in your apartment. The sound seemed to have come from the bathroom. Okay. So, it might have been the mirror or a glass you forgot to move off the edge of the sink. It didn’t have to be the window. Besides, there hadn’t been any other noises after the first.
Reluctantly, you got out of bed and trudged to the bathroom to see what had happened. The shelf you’d put up two days ago lay on the floor surrounded by the shards of a vase you’d placed on said shelf just earlier that evening.
“Damn it,” you muttered, bending to pick up the shelf and the larger pieces of glass. The weight of the vase must have been too much for the shelf, even though you’d properly attached it to the wall. You methodically cleaned up the glass and reattached the shelf to the wall, not putting anything on it this time in hopes that it wouldn’t fall again.
When you woke up, the shelf was still up and you felt rather smug for putting it back up properly. And when you got home, the shelf was still up, too.
That night, you took a lovely bath—taking care to crack the window to let out the steam—twisted your hair up into a comfortable top-knot, and then laid down on your bed with just yourself for company. You sighed gratefully. It had been a long week and you desperately needed some rest.
But, before you could even settle into the softness of your mattress, you heard the distinctive sound of shattering glass. From inside your apartment.
Fuck, not again.
You slipped out of bed, throwing on your sleep shorts and a loose tank top before padding out of your bedroom. Walking as silently as you could, by putting your the balls of your feet on the ground before your heels, you made your way to the bathroom.
You heard a thump just as you put your hand on the doorknob. If that shelf had fallen again…
It was not the shelf.
None other than Han Jisung was sprawled on your bathroom floor, arms and legs going everywhere, and a look of distinct puzzlement on his face. He shook his head, clearly having banged it on the floor. There were bits of broken glass scattered all around him, and you could see a light dusting of it in his hair.
“What the fuck?” you shrieked, backing up to just outside the door.
Jisung looked up at you and grimaced. “Hi?”
“What the hell are you doing in my bathroom? How are you in my bathroom? You had better have a damn good explanation, Han Jisung.” You couldn’t believe it. You’d thought Jisung was nice, that he was normal. But this? Sneaking into your bathroom at 12:30 am? That was just too much. Only a creep would do that.
Jisung scrambled onto his knees, his back to the wall. Under the window. The window that had just been broken. “I can explain!” he said, hands going up in front of him as his shoulders shrugged, as if expecting a blow.
“You’d better talk fast,” you said, your voice dangerously low.
“So, like a dumbass, I forgot my key.” He gulped, then took a breath. “And the guy who lived here before you used to let me come through here when I forgot my key because there’s the connecting door.”
You glanced at said door, which you’d assumed was sealed permanently. Apparently not. You glared at Jisung, who continued.
“Um, I thought I’d just climb in and go through the door. I didn’t mean to break the glass, I promise! My foot just got stuck and so I kind of tripped through the window, if that makes sense? I’m so sorry, Y/N! I thought I’d told you about the whole window thing!” Jisung’s face was screwed up like he might cry, his whole body tense as he made himself as small as he could.
You almost felt sorry for him. Almost. But, you didn’t say anything, waiting for Jisung to provide more of an explanation.
“I— My front windows don’t open and the back and side ones open onto the hill, so there’s nowhere I can use to climb into my own apartment. That’s the only reason this has happened. Really, I’m sorry!”
“So,” you said, hands on your hips, “you’re telling me that you used to climb through this window whenever you forgot your keys.” Jisung nodded. “Did you ever think of making of copy of the key and hiding it under a rock or something?” You were in utter disbelief—how hadn’t he done that? Or given Chan and Changbin keys? You mentally rolled your eyes.
“Shit,” Jisung lamented. “No, I hadn’t thought of that. Like I said, he just let me come in this way and it seemed to work fine. Plus, I don’t think the landlord would like us making copies of the keys, right?”
“Jisung, right now that’s the least of your worries. Please remember that you’re sitting on my bathroom floor. At 12:45 am. I was in bed!” You sighed loudly. Jisung just looked so dejected, you couldn’t stay angry at him for long. “For fucks sake, come here,” you said, reaching out a hand.
He took it, careful not to step on any broken glass from the window, and let you pull him up. His hands were calloused from playing the guitar. And suddenly, Jisung was very close to you. Very close. You could see how long his eyelashes were and the place where he must bite his lip when he’s nervous—you could smell his shampoo. You were also all too aware of just how thin your tank top was, and, it would seem, so was Jisung. You crossed your arms, hoping he’d just think you were cold from the breeze coming in the open window.
“I’ll contact the landlord tomorrow and say I was playing baseball or something and accidentally hit a ball through the window,” he said quickly, stepping back and trying not to look any lower than your face.
“Okay,” you replied, heartbeat faster than you’d care to admit. “Thanks. Now please get out of my bathroom, Jisung. I really do want to go to bed.”
“Yeah, sorry. Really, Y/N. I’m so sorry about this. I’ll— I’ll go get some cardboard and tape to cover the window. I’m sorry!” Jisung seemed like he would start rambling wildly any moment now.
“Just go back to your apartment. I’ll take care of the window, okay?” you tried to be as firm as you could, but Jisung could do sad puppy eyes better than anyone you’d ever met. Dear god, this boy… You gave in. After all, it would be one less thing for you to do. “Fine, Jisung. You can patch the window. Do it quickly, since I want to go to bed.”
With a soft, apologetic smile, Jisung went to the half-door next to your bathroom cabinet. After a moment of him fiddling with the latch, the door swung inward to reveal a small space through which he could crawl. Sighing, Jisung bent down and looked up at you. It did not escape your notice that this was the second time that night that you’d seen Jisung on his knees.
“Again, I’m sorry,” he said quietly. “I’ll be right back to fix the window—just go back to bed.”
Before you could respond, Jisung was crawling forward into the slightly dingy area between your apartments.
↠↞
Jisung did, indeed, take care of the window getting fixed. When you went out to check how it looked, you noticed a conveniently placed log that would make it much easier to, say, climb through the window above. You estimated the height from the ground to the windowsill, and realized that Jisung would have had to jump and then pull himself up just with the strength in his arms in order to get through the window. Yes, the wood shingle siding provided fairly good footholds, but not that much. Damn, you thought appreciatively, he’s strong. You were suddenly glad for the chill in the air to cool your now too-warm face.
You found yourself thinking about Jisung at the most inconvenient times, such as in your lecture classes, and quickly realized that, even though you didn’t know him as well as you’d like, you had a crush on your neighbor. Strangely, you still hadn’t run into each other on campus, but you’d seen Chan and Changbin—in the distance and too far away to talk to. You weren’t sure what to make of the fact that you were into Jisung, but your daydreams had certainly become much more vivid.
That one night was just the first time of many that Han Jisung crawled through your window in the middle of the night. By the sixth time it happened, you decided to talk to Jisung.
You heard the familiar rattle of the window and immediately raced into the bathroom in time to help Jisung down. It was a bit sad to see him on the floor after he accidentally caught a piece of clothing, his backpack, or, one memorable time, an earring, on the window. You held out a hand to him, and he took it, hopping into the room like a lady exiting a carriage.
Holding Jisung’s hand was surprisingly nice. His grip was firm and comforting, as if he were transferring his warmth and affection—
Wait, affection? Huh . . .
You quickly dropped Jisung’s hand, but not after checking that his feet were planted on the ground.
“Jisung, why don’t you come into the living room, okay?” you said, hoping you didn’t sound nervous.
“Oh. Sure!” Jisung was clearly baffled, since you’d never done anything like this. Remembering to shut the window behind himself, he followed you into your apartment. By now, he should have been almost used to seeing you in your pajamas, but he wasn’t. Your tank tops left nothing to the imagination, which was maddening for him.
You pointed Jisung to the couch, and he took a seat, sitting with his back ramrod straight and an expectant look in his eyes. You couldn’t help but smile a little as you curled up on the other end of the couch. Jisung, who took this as encouragement, smiled back.
“Jisung, I’ve noticed that you’ve come through this way once a week for over a month,” you said. “There’s no way you’ve actually lost your key every single fucking week. So, why have you been coming through into my apartment every week?”
You knew it sounded a little silly, but he had been appearing between 9:30 pm and 1:30 am every Friday.
“Um, yeah. I may or may not be really bad at keeping my keys on me. Also . . .” Jisung’s voice trailed off so quietly that you couldn’t hear him properly.
“What did you say?” you asked.
“I’m really bad at keeping my keys on me?”
“No, the other part,” you said slowly.
“Damn, I was hoping you wouldn’t hear that,” Jisung grumbled.
“Jisung, what the hell?”
“I wanted to see you,” Jisung said and ran a hand through his hair, embarrassed.
You were stunned. It almost made sense—Jisung was clearly an introvert and seemed to be one of those people who would rather do something outrageous than actually have to talk to someone, much less someone they had a crush on. Neither of you had exactly made many other attempts to see or talk to each other, besides random meetings at the mailbox and leaving your apartments at the same time. Although, he had asked you to bring him soup when he got a cold in September, and you’d happily taken him some. Amazingly, the fact that he’d been all but sneaking into your apartment for the last six weeks didn’t bother you as much as you thought it would. That, you realized upon later reflection, probably had something to do with your crush on him.
“You . . . wanted to see me?” you asked, voice soft. You barely noticed as you uncurled your legs and shifted closer to Jisung. Your hands rested on the upholstery beside you.
“Yeah.” Jisung had moved closer, too, and now you were sitting side-by-side, facing each other.
“But why?”
“Because,” Jisung said as he reached out and linked his pinky finger with yours. You nearly jumped, the contact seeming like a spark leaping from him to you. “Well, you’re beautiful and kind, and I’d like to get to know you better. And whenever I hear you laugh at whatever silly thing you’re reading or watching, I end up giggling because it’s the best sound I’ve ever heard. Did I mention you’re beautiful?”
You were silent for a minute, staring into space level with Jisung’s elbow; he shifted nervously but you didn’t let go of his hand. Your mind raced nearly as fast as your heartbeat.
“Kiss me, then,” you said, and Jisung’s eyes went wide. “Kiss me, Jisung.”
Jisung hesitantly placed his hand on your waist as you gently cupped his cheek—you could feel his pulse jumping in his neck. His touch was light as a feather and you could feel his hand shaking, even as he drew you closer. He leaned forward at the same time as you did, too, and a dull ache spread through your forehead where it had hit Jisung’s.
You crinkled your nose, leaning your head against the couch, and rubbed your brow.
“Oh my god, Y/N, are you okay?” Jisung said, not even thinking as he ran his hand over what was now a slightly red spot of your forehead.
You giggled and said, “I’m fine. Are you okay, though?”
“I’ve had worse,” Jisung chuckled. He also leaned against the couch, resting his arm on its back as, throwing all caution to the winds, he traced the arch of your cheekbone with a fingertip. “Here,” he said as he leaned toward you again and placed a kiss on your forehead.
“Aw, you’re too sweet,” you said. Jisung was directly in front of you and you thought, Well, since he’s already this close. So, you leaned in and placed kiss after kiss down his jaw. Still hesitant, Jisung turned his head slightly and brushed his lips against yours. It was only for a second, but you immediately caught his lips with yours, wanting more. As you took the lead, Jisung relaxed into the kiss. His lips were warm as you renewed the kiss over and over.
You took a breath, smiling and moving your free hand to Jisung’s hair—It really was as soft as you’d always expected. He hummed contentedly, leaning his head back slightly into your hand.
“I’ve been waiting to do that for so long,” Jisung breathed, letting out what might have been a laugh or a sigh.
“Me, too,” you said, still carding your fingers through his hair.
“And now you’re too far away,” Jisung pouted, and slanted his lips to yours again. Continuing to twine your fingers around his hair, you let your other hand run over Jisung’s arms and chest, then down to wrap around his waist. As you did, Jisung held your hip and pulled you closer so you were nearly sitting in his lap. Not that you minded. You transferred a hand to his shoulder so you wouldn’t topple over. Jisung swiped his tongue along your bottom lip and you gladly opened to him. He tasted of the vanilla chapstick he clearly used, and as you explored each other’s mouths, you slipped your hand under the hem of his shirt.
The feeling of your hand on his skin nearly made Jisung faint from surprise and he gasped against your lips before kissing you even more enthusiastically. After long moments of wonton kissing, your arm ached a little from resting on the back of the couch and, reluctantly, you broke the kiss. Jisung’s lips were very red and swollen.
“Are you okay?” Jisung asked, worried as he pulled back, just in case. You didn’t let go of him, though.
“Can we change positions a little, Ji?” The nickname had just slipped out and you didn’t realize you’d call him that until you saw his expression.
“Of course.” Jisung paused, not exactly sure what to do next. “Um, what do you want to do?”
“Well,” you pretended to think for a moment, “we could lay down a bit?”
Jisung blushed a little at the implication that hung in those words. “That’s,” he began and cleared his throat. “That’s just fine with me.”
Taking a deep breath, Jisung slouched back onto the arm of the couch, bringing you with him. You had to do some scooting yourself, and soon found yourself straddling his legs. Jisung reached up and pulled you down to him, running his hands up and down your back as he did so. You rested your forearms on the couch behind Jisung and brought your lips back to his, leaving little kisses around his lips before fully kissing him again. Kissing him was like finding a lucky penny: unexpectedly sweet and such a simple yet exciting thing that you couldn’t help but want to leap with joy. All of a sudden, a giggle burbled up out of you and you hid your face in the crook of Jisung’s neck.
“What?” Jisung asked.
“Nothing,” you mumbled.
“No, really. What is it?” Jisung was quite curious now.
You lifted your head, feeling the heat rise to your cheeks. “I kind of want to see you shirtless now,” you admitted and immediately burrowed your head in his shoulder again.
Jisung laughed, really laughed, as he said, “Yeah? Well, I can’t take my shirt off with you on top of me.”
Still quite embarrassed that he’d even considered what you’d said, you sat up and Jisung lifted the hem of his t-shirt. You couldn’t help yourself once his shirt was off: you whistled, murmuring, “Holy shit.” While you’d guessed that Jisung had nice muscles, you weren’t expecting him to have abs for days and killer arms, not to mention perfectly proportioned pecs.
Jisung smiled, a little embarrassed. “Um, like what you see?”
“Oh, you have no idea,” you said, and trailed a finger down his chest. Jisung let out a shaky breath and you felt a hard pressure underneath your bum. Your pajama pants felt quite thin at the moment. Swooping down, you captured his lips again and continued to run your hands over every inch of him you could reach. Jisung moaned every time your hands returned to his chest, and he slipped a hand down to your bum to hold your hips to his. Your kisses were soon so heated they were almost desperate, your hands ranging over each other’s bodies as the warmth inside grew.
“Jisung,” you said, breathing hard. You sat up, realizing, belatedly, that your top was dangerously low now. “If we don’t stop now—”
“I don’t want to stop,” he whispered. “But if you do, we will. It’s okay, I promise.”
Jisung was so gentle and careful, you could almost cry. “Oh, Ji,” you murmured, and kissed him again, lingering at his bottom lip before pulling back. “I don’t want to stop either.”
Jisung craned his neck to kiss just below your ear. “Then we won’t.” As you continued kissing, any hopes of going back to sleep disappeared like mist in early morning sun. But you didn't want to go to bed, not when Jisung’s hands were slipping under your tank top.
