Summary: Sylvie's thoughts on her way home after Matt's confession. (AKA - Cíara’s brain needs to switch off but CAN’T)

She watched Matt go back into Molly’s, her eyes filling with tears. The last week had been a rollercoaster of emotions. From things ending with Greg, to actually having a conversation with Matt that was going somewhere, to Gabby calling.

She should have been happy Gabby was in touch about Mouch. She should have been excited to get a phone call with her best friend. But Gabby wasn’t her best friend anymore. She hadn’t even responded to Sylvie’s email about her engagement, or the end of that engagement.

And she was helping Joe, and stress baking, and giving way too many baked goods to everyone at 51. And Violet had mentioned there was something between her and Matt.

She’d tried to put it behind her. She was trying to get Matt out of her head. Get him away from her heart, and maybe she’d be able to move on and find someone available and there for her. But she wanted Matt. She was in love with Matthew Casey, and the truth she’d known for so long was plain in her life. She loved him.

Her Lyft pulled up, and Sylvie checked the license plate before getting in. It was quiet on the way to her apartment, and the thoughts kept running through her mind.

Matthew Casey loves Sylvie Brett.

She thought he was coming to tell her Gabby was coming back. Or he was moving to Puerto Rico. That island had taken everyone she’d ever loved it felt like. Her best friend, the man she thought she’d have a long lasting relationship with, the man she was hopelessly in love with. But he wasn’t in love with Gabby. She was his past. He’d said it.

She nearly didn’t realise she’d arrived at the apartment, going up the stairs in a daze and unlocking her door. She had thirty three hours until she was back in work, and she needed to think. She needed to work out what she was going to do. What she was going to say. How could she tell Matt she felt the same way? That she wanted to kiss him? That when she went asleep she dreamed about kissing him again and again, because that moment when he kissed her back was the last time she’d felt truly happy.

Her landline - and why the hell she still had one she didn’t know - was blinking, and she hit the button for the answering machine.

“Hey Brett…this is weird. I guess you’re out with everyone at Molly’s for Mouch. Matt told me. About the kiss, about you sending him away, all of it. He deserves to be happy. God knows we didn’t make each other happy. It was too hard for us to do it. We should have stopped long before. If he makes you happy, go for it. There’s no hard feelings. Antonio told me to say hi.”

She played the message back twice, three times. What was she waiting for? Why was she even still there? He said he loved her. Gabby told her to go for it. It just made sense.

But she was sitting on her couch, staring at her phone. She’d tried calling Stella, who wasn’t answering. Sylvie figured she and Kelly were celebrating getting through that window and making it out. Joe was at home with Chloe preparing for the baby. Her entire life had ended up being surrounded by CFD, and it was all she knew. It’d be nearly sad if they didn’t spend so much time together.

She sat down, staring at the lemon wallpaper she’d picked out when she’d moved into this apartment. Matt Casey loves her. It was like a warm fuzzy feeling spreading down her chest every time she thought the words. She’d made out with him on this couch. He loves her. She loves him. She’s going to get to make out with him again. And next time there wasn’t going to be any second guessing anything.

Thanks @emmaducklingsaviour for the tag! This was really fun but soo hard I could’ve easily picked 2 or 3 ships for each question 😂

1. Your first ship: Sonny and Chad (Sonny with a Chance) ugh my first Disney ship, the couple I shipped before I knew what shipping was. I remember being 10 years old and getting so excited when I was watching and they got together. Simpler times

2. Your first OTP: Sabrina and Harvey (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) I adored these two they were my childhood and I’m so happy they were endgame even though the last season was messy. I love this show and I love these two, definition of soulmates.

3. Your current favourite ship: Bellarke (the 100) when I get sad over Bellarke, I re-read the books because they have so many adorable moments in the books like their first kiss by the lake and Bellamy always teasing her. I love them so much and I could easily rant about how much I hate the writers but if you know you know. But at least they’re engaged in the books and Beliza are married🥺🥺

4. You shipped from the first minute: Ruby and Mulan (ouat) these two had so much chemistry and would’ve been so much more iconic than Ruby and Dorothy, and Mulan was definitely in love with Ruby when she first saw her.

5. You wish they had been endgame: Jess and Rory (Gilmore Girls) I’m still so upset over these two I love the early seasons of GG and they were perfect together. I don’t like to think about the year in the life I just focus on when they were in love 🥺

6. You wish they had been canon: Okay this was hard because I literally have so many. But I’m gonna go with Henry and Ivy (ouat) because they would’ve been so powerful together and I’ve ranted before on my page about how they should’ve been together and why it would’ve made so much sense but them being together would’ve made s7 so much better.

7. A ship you like but most of the fandom hates: Bash and Mary (Reign) I’m like the 1% of the fandom that preferred Mary and Bash like her and Francis were cute but I adored her and Bash they were adorable and Bash never got over his love for Mary even when he was with Kenna.

8. You don’t even watch the show but you ship them anyways: Chris and Eva (Skam) I could never really get into Skam but I always see these two in multicouples vids and I’ve watched a few moments online and I really like them even though I don’t really know what happens between them

9. You wish they had a different storyline; Tobias/Four and Tris (Divergent) okay Divergent is my comfort series and while I hate the movies for depriving us of amazing scenes and messing up the plot, I still love these two. I’ll forever be mad over the ending to Alleigant my babies deserved so much better 😭

10. Fave ship that was endgame: Captain Swan (OUAT) it was so hard not to put these two in another category but I love these two so much my entire blog is pretty much devoted to them. They really got their happy ending and I could rant for hours about them but I’m so happy they got their happily ever after 🥺

This was so hard I changed my answers so many times I could easily have done more but here we go!
