YOU DON’T HAVE TO ADD COMMENTARY JUST THE SONG! I added some comments for @dandyvespa (the creator of this tag!!) just to be more fun hahaha
1. The song that plays when you go bungee jumping
As The World Caves In - Matt Maltese
Lolll that would be the saddest bungee session, I would be crying cause of this song! But also it’s such a good song so maybe it would be a vibe!
2. The song that plays at your wedding.
Hey Lover! - Wabie
That’s soooo cute, I actually LOVE this! Imma have to add that to the wedding playlist if I ever get married!
3. The song that plays when you’re having an existential crisis.
Hey Jude - The Beatles
Well... that would probably be fitting. A childhood favorite of mine for an existential crisis sounds about right.
4. The song that plays when you are time traveling.
iT’s YoU - Zayn
Such a good song, I can’t even describe how much I love all the sounds in it. What an iconic song to time travel to.

Forgive Me - Chloe x Halle
That would a pretty fun ride! I can already imagine the city lights speeding past me lol
10. The song that plays when you binge on a bunch of junk foods.
Leave The Door Open - Silk Sonic
Ohhhh that would be such a jamming session! I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this song, so binge eating to this song is an 11/10!
11. The song that plays when you serve your time in prison.
Судно - Molchat Doma
Now that sounds like a movie scene omggg, that’s iconic!
12. The song that plays when someone you love dies.
forever rain - RM
Oh wooow my heart just broke, this song already gets me but paired with your scenario owww.
13. The song that plays during your training montage.
Sign of the Times - Harry Styles
That would either be the saddest training montage or the most deep.
14. The song that plays when you shoot arrows while riding a horse.
Starman - David Bowie
It’s like sci-fi meets ya fantasy with this one.
15. The song that plays when you’re on a mystic adventure in an RPG.

17. The song that plays when you’re on a road trip with friends.
Elephant Gun - Beirut
Oh wow this one made me emotional! I honestly can’t think of a better road trip song than this one! Filming it like an old vhs tape footage, with the graining film!
18. The song that plays when you see your senpai under the cherry blossoms.

19. The song that plays when you’re giving birth.
Mr Loverman - Ricky Montgomery
Okay this is lowkey cute!
20. The song that plays when you are trying to crack into a building with tight security.
Magic Works - Jarvis Cocker etc.
Wait why does this actually work! I can totally see this!! The way that I love this song, like I get surprised with how good it is every time I hear it!
21. The song that plays when you are dancing in the rain.
Fresh Laundry - Allie X
Hold up this is actually great! It gives that eerie vibe to it! Like dancing on the street with just a streetlamp lighting you while it’s pouring!
22. The song that plays when you are in a zombie apocalypse.
right here - keshi
I loove this song and this would honestly kind of fit the vibe?!
23. The song that plays when you are doing a surgical procedure.
Nocturne in E Flat Major, Op. 9 No. 2: II. Andante (E Flat major)
Now that’s some boss shit! Hahaha made me feel like I’m in a cinematographic movie with the incision blade at my finger tips hahaha
24. The song that plays when you’re in an elevator with quiet and awkward strangers.
Restless - BIBI
At that point if this song comes on I would just be ~vibing~ this song is so smooth and pretty! It makes me feel like I’ve fallen in love (probably with her cause she’s so gorgeous and talented)
• Sorry this took so long!! It was sitting in my drafts for so long and I finally finished it right now! I really enjoyed doing it! <3

Episode 137 : Goodbye Summer
"I'm like when we turn the clocks back in October..."
- Sha
The autumn is here, but given that we're still mostly shut up in the house, it's a pretty academic point. Still, it means that musically we start looking in the hoodies and Timbs direction, and some of that cold weather flavour makes its way into this month's selection...
Twitter : @airadam13
Twitch : @airadam13
Playlist/Notes
Curren$y & Harry Fraud : 1 Luv (Roll The Credits)
Curren$y is so prolific, it feels like every time I log onto Spotify he's got something new out. This is the outro for the 2020 "The Director's Cut" mixtape, but works just as well as a low-key intro. I'd definitely recommend giving the whole release a spin.
Bagnon Titi : Love And Time
We've been to the "Smooth Grooves Beat Tape" a few times, but inexplicably not for this track until now! I personally might have preferred the mix/EQ to be a bit different on this one (more prominence to the bassline maybe), but the flipping of this well-known sample is excellent.
Nas : N.Y. State Of Mind Pt. II
"Mama should have cuffed me to the radiator" is one of the starkest, rawest lines ever, and the sad story of nine friends reduced to three is told with more efficiency than you could imagine possible. Sequels often disappoint compared to the originals, but this is a worthy successor to the first "NY State Of Mind", with Nas and DJ Premier coming back together on "I Am..." for an underrated classic.
Shyne : More Or Less
Shyne was well into his prison term for the 1999 Club New York shooting incident when "Godfather Buried Alive", his second album, was released in 2004 - understandably not on Bad Boy, but by Def Jam. The vocals were mostly pre-prison recordings with a few things recorded over the phone, and as such, it's not as coherent as you might like - but this was a great cut. A quality bit of sampling from the early days of Kanye West drives this one along, and Shyne comes with the rawness on the mic. "Hip-Hop's not responsible for violence in America / America's responsible for violence in America"? Can't argue with that.
Chemical Brothers ft. Beth Orton : Alive Alone
I remember playing this one in the headphones on many a dark, rainy night after "Exit Planet Dust" was released, so I thought it'd be a good one to include this month. Dark, slow, moody, with Beth Orton's gentle vocals over the  top - perfection.
Mayhem Lauren : Peace Dad
Back over to Queens for some flavour (pun partially intended) from one of the biggest culinary fans in the Hip-Hop game. A short and sweet two verses over Tommy Mas production from the "Respect The Fly Shit" mixtape.
[Pete Rock] Edo G : Just Call My Name (Instrumental)
It was great that the most recent release of the "My Own Worst Enemy" LP by Edo G and Pete Rock contained instrumentals of all the tracks - really makes it an essential purchase for fans of these two legendary veterans. I don't know if the bass and horn samples come from the same place, but the interplay is expertly done!
Nas, Remy Ma, Ghostface Killah, Dave East, Styles P, RadhaMUS Prime : The Mecca
Brand new heat! From the soundtrack to the new film "The 40-Year-Old Version" comes a wicked NYC collaboration that features contributions from all the five boroughs (with Brooklyn represented by Da Beatminerz on production). This one should earn a few rewinds, as all the veterans get busy.
Shabaam Sahdeeq : Pendilum
We take it back to the heyday of the underground 12s for this A3-side - it may not be an example of Chuck's Law (the main track is a killer), but it's still quality. Shabaam is all Brooklyn lyricism on the mic and Dr.Sato (on what looks to be his only production credit) uses what sounds like a sitar sample as the centre of the beat.
LMNO & Kev Brown : Who's That?
LMNO is one of the least subtle MCs I can think of, but he does his job well enough here alongside the bassline king Kev Brown on the "Selective Hearing" LP. That said, the bass is pretty sparse outside of the hook and leaves plenty of space for LMNO to take centre stage.
Torae ft. Sha Stimuli and Kel Spencer : Save The Day
I've been waiting to play this song specifically in October just for the line that I used for this month's epigram :) Khrysis is on the boards with the heat, and the trio of MCs coming with the goods on this cut from the 2008 "Daily Conversation" LP. If you haven't heard it, it's a solid release, definitely worth checking out.
Da Beatminerz : Take That (Instrumental)
This beat may be almost 20 years old (originally from 2001's "Brace 4 Impak"), but it smacks strongly even today - a testament to the quality of the production and the engineering.
Oh No ft. Buckshot : Gets Mine
"Exodus Into Unheard Rhythms" is one of the first LPs I can think of that was based around samples from one artist only - in this case, the late multi-talented composer Galt McDermot. This track has a cross between that midnight creep sound and some majestic piano business, and while Oh No has a quality verse, bringing in Buckshot as the feature was inspired - perfect choice.
Timeless Truth : What A Life
Straight no chaser from the 2013 debut by TT, "Rock-It Science" (great title). R.Thentic chops the pianos in a serious fashion over a boom-bap beat, and despite this being on a group LP, Solace goes solo end-to-end on the mic.
Rapsody ft. King Mez and Laws : Top Five
I can't quite believe that "Thank H.E.R. Now" is almost ten years old already, but it's an entry in Rapsody's catalogue that is definitely worth going back to explore if you missed it the first time round. "Top Five" is a nice all-southern mic workout with Rapsody and Mez repping North Carolina, and Laws coming out of Florida. Production comes from Amp of The Soul Council, and if I dare say it, sounds reminiscent of mid-2000s Preemo style.
Redman ft. E3 : Ride
This track is the month's rediscovery thanks to my vinyl digitisation project - I hadn't dug it out for years!  It's drawn from the soundtrack of a 2003 film called "Biker Boyz" which, from the critical reception, I probably won't ever get around to watching, but I got this on a promo 12". Production and vocal duties are both shared between Redman and E3, and it's really well-executed within the style frame it inhabits - polished, nicely engineered, but with the funk on the low end.
Ilajide : Number One
To my ears, this man is lining himself up as ones of the kings of the bassline - not when it comes to complexity, but just the sheer sonic impact. This instrumental from "3" bangs along with a low end that will give any system a workout.
Boot Camp Clik : And So
When it comes to hoodie and boot weather, you have to include the Boot Camp Clik in any musical discussion. You'd also usually be talking about Da Beatminerz in the same breath, but this cut from 2002's "The Chosen Few" was produced by Curt Cazal, best known for his work as part of JVC Force. On the mic, the late Sean Price, Tek and Steele, Top Dog, and Buckshot of Black Moon kick it straight Brooklyn style, and it sounds very much like they may have had an issue with a certain mixtape DJ...
Please remember to support the artists you like! The purpose of putting the podcast out and providing the full tracklist is to try and give some light, so do use the songs on each episode as a starting point to search out more material. If you have Spotify in your country it's a great way to explore, but otherwise there's always Youtube and the like. Seeing your favourite artists live is the best way to put money in their pockets, and buy the vinyl/CDs/downloads of the stuff you like the most!
Check out this episode!

Things I can’t get over Gravity Falls
I need to expell this from my soul, before I can’t stand myself more and only damage myself more. Please understand me, I’m not againist no one, just I hold this bad vibe, after a Tale Of Two Stans (and subsequent episodes), and (I know some of them are pointless, because I’m weird, but I’m gonna to say they anyway), it’s necessary that myself I throw each one, if I want to enjoy the series correctly, because some of these toughts, hinder me to enjoy Gravity Falls again.
The fact that Stan is the only main Character, in being unaffected by a Weirdness or an Anomaly. (Ford, Dipper, Mabel, Soos and Wendy were affected by an anomaly once, in some mode)
The fact Dipper and Mabel, manipulated mentally Stan in one episode and they doesn’t even apologize for that and Ford built those godamned ties. Just I hope they were lost forever.
The fact that Stan never got a happy moment in his life, since when he was kicked from his home, until he met Soos. Unlike Ford, who got happy moments in his life.
The fact, that we only saw Stan’s past thrice (Boyz Crazy, Dreamscaperers and A Tale Of Two Stans), and (in my perspective) they weren’t relevant for the series story.
The fact that apparently since Ford’s return, everybody focuses more in Ford.
The fact, that Stan is the Main Character, we know less about their life. Heck Stan EVEN has a Middle name at least?
The fact Stan gave up in many of his dreams.
The fact, that Stan wasn’t present when the Mystery Shack was constructed. I need to mention that’s why I wanted it destroyed, because everybody mentions constantly that is Ford’s home and was obvious that Stan was not gonna to remember, since the Shack only has Ford’s likes in there and also is Ford’s house. Also for that I prefer the Stan O’War II, because is a mix of Stan and Ford likes.
The fact that Stan and Ford were apart for 40 years in their life.
The fact that Ford still refered Stan as untrustworthy and never gone to know, how he was.
The fact that Stan’s last major role, prior the series finale was in Roadside Attraction. 4 godamned episodes before the finale!
The fact Stan got minor roles in “The Last Mabelcorn”, “Dipper and Mabel vs. The Future” and “Weirdmageddon Part 1″. (I’m not counting “Weirdmageddon 2: Escape From Reality” due obvious reasons)
The fact that everybody gave a fuck (ignored) about Stan in “Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls” and remembered him, in the Zodiac part, luckily in the next episode “Weirdmageddon 4: Somewhere In the Woods” this was corrected.
The fact that nobody named Stan’s symbol and no one was present when Stan incorpored to the circle, maybe was for the best.
The fact Fiddleford, Dipper, Soos and Mabel doesn’t complained, when Stan doesn’t wanted to be in the circle. (Wendy, Ford, Pacifica, Robbie and Gideon complained, heck Ford and Stan fought).
The fact that nobody realized that the mystic source, was cut, when Stan let go Soos’ Hand.
The fact that Stan still sees himself as a failure, even after defeating Bill.
The fact that Stan do something good, and whatever should be a happy moment in family, become a tragedy. (I prefer this moment as a sad one).
The fact that Mabel wanted to hug her Grunkle, but since Stan no longer remembered her, he doesn’t let her to hug him and starts asking her name and who is talking her, making Mabel cry, she attempts to convince that Stan is pranking with her, until she realizes, it’s not a prank, it’s actually happening.
The fact Stan was the last person that Ford hug in the finale. And instead like a warm hug (like Mabel, Dipper and Fiddleford), this was sad and doesn’t feel like a welcome.
The fact that Ford was about to cry, when he saw Stan, having his mind erased and (possibly) remembering all the times, Stan defended/protected/sacrified for him, with nothing in exchange. I mean he possibly was thinking in every bad thing he said to Stan for anger and later how many times, he sacrified for him, heck he even gave his life and this made this man feel so guilty, he wanted to make ammends with Stan and catch up with him, but he can’t, Stan no longer remembers.
The fact Dipper and/or Ford, never wrote a thing about this moment in the Journal #3.
The fact that Stan possibly doesn’t even remembered how he looked, after being affected.
The fact Ford never apologized Stan for the burnt in Stan’s back.
I need to say this I feel better, after posting this, if there’s something you didn’t liked to read or that some things sound mean-spirited or stupid, I’m sorry, but I needed to expell this from my body.
Tell me, what do you think? And how I can avoid thinking this.

The Lakers Remember Kobe Bryant With a Game ‘Straight From the Heart’
LOS ANGELES — Nothing about the game was normal. Not the tributes. Not the chants. Not the emotion. Not the reflection.
But before the Lakers could begin to move forward from the death of Kobe Bryant on Sunday, they needed to look back. Anthony Davis went back to the 2012 Olympic Games in London, when he was the youngest player on the United States men’s basketball team and the last guy off the bench. The United S was up big on Nigeria when Davis was finally summoned to shed his warm-ups and play. But there was one problem: Anthony, in all his exuberance at age 19, had forgotten to put his jersey on.
Bryant, the oldest player on the team at the time, was flabbergasted and let Davis know it. The lesson stuck with Davis.
“Before every game, I check that I have my jersey on — to this day,” Davis said. “He taught me how to get dressed before a game.”
It was the quiet conversations more than the splashy moments that resonated with James and Davis: the bits of advice he offered, the way he pushed his peers to excel, the work ethic he exhibited. But James said he had been struck most by how Bryant, who had four daughters with his wife, Vanessa, had transitioned into retirement since he played the final game of his 20-year career with the Lakers in 2016.
“You know what’s crazy?” James asked. “These last three years, out of all the success he had — five rings, multiple M.V.P.s, an All-Star Game M.V.P., first-team everything, all-life, all-world, all-basketball — it felt like these last three years were the happiest I ever seen him. I think we can all say that. Being able to just be with his daughters, be with his family. Because when we’re playing this game of basketball, we give so much to it.”
On a night that was sad and strange, inspiring and exhausting, the Lakers spent three hours paying tribute to Bryant while going about the more prosaic business of playing basketball. They wound up losing to the Portland Trail Blazers, 127-119, but the result hardly mattered.
Even the Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard, who torched the Lakers for 48 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds as he continued to play the best basketball of his life, said he felt empty afterward.
“I don’t think anybody walks away from this moment and this situation a winner,” he said.
Bryant was everywhere at Staples Center. On the T-shirts bearing his name and uniform numbers — 24 and 8 — that thousands of fans wore. On the video clips that appeared on the scoreboard during timeouts. On the new “Mamba 4 Life” tattoo that James brandished on one of his thighs. On the “Kobe” chants that echoed throughout the building.
In recent years, Bryant had been a semiregular presence around the organization — even as he coached his daughter’s basketball team, even as he shifted to his next phase of his life with other interests. Many of the team’s current players revered him, and many of the franchise’s longest-tenured employees remained close to him.
Bryant was most recently courtside at Staples Center for a game against the Dallas Mavericks on Dec. 29, when he playfully trash-talked Luka Doncic in Slovenian. Afterward, Bryant introduced Doncic to his daughter, Gianna, who had accompanied her father to the game — as she often did. She dreamed of playing at the highest level, too.
On Friday night, the seats they sat in were left empty. Jerseys for Kobe (No. 24) and Gianna (No. 2) were draped over the backs. A bouquet of roses was placed on each cushion.
During a 15-minute ceremony before the game, Usher sang “Amazing Grace” and a cellist from the Los Angeles Philharmonic performed “Hallelujah” as highlights from Bryant’s career played on the large video screen. There was a 24.2 second moment of silence in the dark.
By the time Boyz II Men sang the national anthem, James was among the players who appeared to be weeping. He stepped into spotlight and pulled some notecards from his waistband. Then, he tossed them. Who needed notes? Not James. He said he wanted to speak “straight from the heart.”
“I’m looking at this as a celebration tonight,” he said. “This is a celebration of the 20 years, of the blood, the sweat, the tears, the broken-down body, the getting up, the sitting down, the countless hours, the determination to be as great as he could be.”
It was the first time James had spoken publicly since Bryant’s death, and he crammed a lot of emotion into four minutes. He honored the nine victims by reciting their names. He touched on Bryant’s resilience. He alluded to the communal suffering that so much of the city had experienced. And he pledged to continue Bryant’s legacy with the Lakers.
“In the words of Kobe Bryant, Mamba out,” James said. “But in the words of us, not forgotten. Live on, brother.”
Lawrence Tanter, the Lakers’ longtime public-address announcer, soon used the same introduction for all five of the team’s starters, repeating it for each player: “No. 24, 6-6, 20th season from Lower Merion High School, Koooobe Bryant.”
It was a heavy night for the Trail Blazers, too. Carmelo Anthony, an 10-time All-Star who was friends with Bryant, was not with the team for what was described as “personal reasons.”
After Portland’s morning shootaround, Coach Terry Stotts visited the massive memorial outside the arena that had sprung up in the immediate aftermath of the accident and had grown over the course of the week. Jerseys. Candles. Posters. Stuffed animals. Handwritten notes. Stotts said he was moved by the enormity of it all.
“Outside, with all the tributes, it’s just — the thousands and thousands of people who have felt his passing,” Stotts said. “That, to me, is the most impressive thing.”
As for the game, Lakers Coach Frank Vogel shuffled every player on the roster into his rotation by halftime. It was by design after a difficult week.
“I wanted to give everybody an opportunity to contribute,” he said.
The Lakers did not play their best basketball, though Lillard had something to do with it. Vogel said he was proud of his team anyway. He knew it would be a tough night. More are sure to come.
“It’s going to take time,” Vogel said.

365 Days of 90's Songs
Every day of 2017 (or at least close to it), I posted a different song from the 1990′s on my Facebook page. When I started it, I had no rules and no plan. I just started posting songs that came to me that I enjoyed from that era. To be honest, I had always done a lot of research on 90′s music because in film school (2010-ish), I outlined a screenplay set in 1996 and deep dove into the music then. As 2017 went on, and I continued to work 70-80 hours a week in film production, updating the list became cumbersome, but I still refused to post weak 90′s songs like “U Can’t Touch This”, “Barbie Girl” or “Blue (Da Ba De)” etc. If you like songs like that then please go listen to them, but I’m not going to pretend that I enjoyed them at all in the 90′s or now.
Looking back on this list, I wish I had put a little more thought into creating a cohesive mix or including my favorite songs, many of which were left off because I ran out of time, but most of the fun of doing this list was just winging it and seeing if anyone liked any of the random songs I did when I was 7-17 years old. I’m going to make an Apple Music and Spotify playlist out of all of these songs but compiling this full list in the proper order already took enough time for this weekend.

Warning! Explicit today! If you're easily offended, rush rush rush to the nearest Disney page. I'm serious. I do NOT want to hear any bitching about how you didn't want to hear details about my sex life when you knew full well what you were getting into. Okay? Okay.
It all started the 13th, which was Saturday night. Rob showed up a lot earlier than I thought he was going to. I hadn't even got my makeup on yet, and I look horrid without it, so I locked my door and hurried up and put some on. We went and picked up my friend Adam because Rob wanted to meet him since Adam is his type. We came back to my house, and Rob gave Adam a little sucky sucky. We took Adam home, and Jennifer was waiting at my house when we got back because she wanted to meet Rob before we left. She left, then me and Rob had each other to ourselves. Ahhh, heaven, I had missed his touch so much.
We got on the road around 10 AM the next day. We stayed the night in Topeka Kansas. The next night we stayed in Eagle Colorado. The next morning, Rob took his car through a car wash. The guy in front of us had a truck, and he couldn't get his truck onto the track. It took him 4 tries. Then when he was coming out, he hit a part of the car wash with his bumper and tore almost the whole bumper off of his truck. He got out and tried fixing it. Rob and I were laughing so hard. That was the highlight of Colorado, other than the mountains.
Colorado was beautiful despite the tiring search for a hotel room. The mountains are so huge, in some places it looks like a gigantic rock is going to fall off of one and onto the interstate. I took a lot of pictures. We stayed in Beaver Utah the next night. Utah's pretty boring. It's pretty I suppose, but the sun was beating down on us all day. Hot hot hot! You have to be 19 to buy tobacco there. Not that I care, but it's frustrating! I swear, as soon as I turn 18, everything gets out of my reach again. But I don't smoke so it doesn't bother me that much.
The next night we got to Las Vegas. We stayed at a hotel called Excalibur. Rob let me sneak and play a slot machine. The first 2 quarters I put in, I lost, but on the third one, I won 10 dollars! I quit while I was ahead of course.
We ate at MGM the first night, and went to a sex shoppe and bought a strap on dildo for me to use on him. I used it that night, and about ripped a hole in him. He was moaning all night about how it hurt so bad. The next day, we had brunch at The Mirage, and saw a show in the basement of Excalibur called Tournament of Kings. It had guys with long hair riding around on horses and fighting each other. They give you a whole freakin hen for dinner while you watch. Quite delicious. The next day, we had brunch at Caesar's Palace, went on a roller coaster on top of New York New York, and saw the group Chicago back at Caesar's Palace. That's Rob's favorite band. It was absolutley creamy. I know Rob really enjoyed it, and just seeing him so happy made me even happier.
The morning that we left, we had breakfast at another hotel called The Luxor. It's shaped like a pyramid. On the way over to The Luxor, we were on those moving sidewalk thingies, and the song 'The Tide Is High' by Blondie came on, and I started singing really loud. Rob acted like he didn't know me, haha
After breakfast, we headed towards California. We stayed the night in a town called Victorville. The next day, we drove through LA, Santa Monica, Venice, Long Beach, Compton, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Sunset Beach, and some other cities. We stayed in Huntington Beach that night. We tried to go swimming in the ocean, but it was FREEZING cold. Rob the nut went in the water anyway and his legs turned purple. We stayed there another night, and headed out towards Arizona the next day. We stayed in Tucson for the night. We stayed at a Motel 6 that had a pool, and it was warm enough to go swimming, so we did. No one was in the pool except us, so we got a little frisky, threw off our bathing suits, and had sex in the pool and gave each other oral sex. That was quite luverly! I also pissed on him in the shower later that night, since he's been telling me for a long time that he has a fetish for watersports.
We stayed in Truth Or Consequences New Mexico the next night. Rob's old friend from school, Matt, lives there. Matt showed us around the area. He took us to the marina at night, when no one was there. It was quite freaky, because he told us about how some people went scuba diving in Elephant Butte Lake, and found these gigantic catfish. I'm not talking a couple feet long, I'm talking as big as a fucking car.
The next day, he took us to his girlfriend's parent's gold mine in the Caballo Mountains, and let us poke around in the rocks and stuff. He told us a lot of stories about the gold mine, the government, aliens, and 2 feet long scorpions in the desert. He told us not to repeat it to anyone, so I'm not going to get into details. I don't remember a lot of what he said anyway. I really like Matt! I wish he was my bodyguard because for one, he's a big, tough guy. And for two, he has more guns than anyone I've met in my life. Even Rob thought it was a little ridiculous. Matt said he has so many because he's getting ready for Y2K or something.
We didn't leave TOC until late that afternoon because Rob and I were going to meet Matt's girlfriend, but she was late, so we went ahead and got on the road again. We stayed in Alamogordo New Mexico that night. The next morning, we drove back a bit, and went to White Sands. That was absolutely beautiful. If you've ever seen the video 'Water Runs Dry' by Boyz II Men, that's the place I'm talking about. The sand is white, hence the name. It almost looks like snow. I got a bucket out of the trunk and filled it with the sand. We stayed in Amarillo Texas the next night, and headed out through Oklahoma the next day. While we were driving in Oklahoma, I caught a whiff of something that smelled like a perm. I looked up and saw this car with Nebraska plates with a lady in the backseat that had a huge ass perm. Was it her? I don't know, but this all struck me as extremely funny and I couldn't stop laughing. We stayed in Joplin Missouri that night, and got back home the next day.
My favorite part of this trip was New Mexico. Las Vegas was a close second, followed by the beautiful scenery in every state we visited. Rob really liked New Mexico too. We both liked it so much, we're seriously talking about moving out there together. We'll probably buy some land around TOC, Elephant Butte, Williamsburg, or Caballo. Somewhere around those towns. There's desert and mountains around there, which is what we want. The air is hot, but it's dry, so it's not uncomfortable. I think it would be exciting to live there, because of all the stories Matt told us. That, with the kickass weather, and the beautiful scenery, I want to move down there NOW. Hopefully we'll be moved down there by winter.
I had the time of my life. I love being with Rob. He's always acting silly, and trying to make me laugh, but at the same time, he's sexy and sensual. He gave me an armpit fetish, along with a few other things. I always considered myself to be open person when it came to sex, but he opened my eyes to a lot of things that I never really thought about before. I really can see myself spending the rest of my life with him. When he left today, I sobbed like a little baby. I feel so lonely and cold and sad and empty and blah I hate this. I hope I can see him again really soon, because I miss him tons and he hasn't been gone but for 6 and a half hours.
I guess that's all for now. I'm off to talk to Rob. He just said that he's going to call some real estate agents TOMORROW and look for a trailer/motorhome for us to live in at first. We had talked about it while he was here, but I think we're getting really close to it. I can feel my heart beating in my chest so hard. I love him so much.

yellin’ at songs, week thirty-eight
takin’ some time to think ‘bout the songs what all debuted on billboard between on 27 september 1997, 29 september 2007, and 30 september 2017
spoiler this is extra salty, hoo boy pop music is bad and no one should like it
9.27.1997
2) "4 Seasons of Loneliness," by Boyz II Men
Yep. Yep, this is a '90s R&B slo jamz. Just a bunch of dudes singing gently about how epic and powerful some feeling is -- in this case, loneliness, which, if you were not aware, is the opposite of love. See, what makes loneliness so fascinating is, when you're in love, you're a two, right? But when you're an alone, you're a one. And if you're a one for long enough, you will eventually be alone through all four of the seasons -- winter, spring, summer, and of course, faultumln. What a brilliant job Boyz II Men do of portraying what it would be like to be single for a year.
29) "Everything," by Mary J. Blige
This is like a '90s R&B dude song from the female song. "You are my trusted friend/On you I can depend." First off, way not to end the lyric with a preposition, but also, I think I've heard that "friend/depend" from 1997 R&B dudes at least 20 times. "It never occurred to me the first time I saw your face/I would fall so deep in love, that your love can't be replaced." Face/Replace sounds new? But I wouldn't be surprised if it popped up here and there across '90s R&B. This is a bit bouncier and more upbeat than the R&B dude fare -- it's not overdramatic, it's Mary J. Blige revelling in love, so at least it has that going for it. It just doesn't feel like its own thing.
79) "Don't Go," by Le Click ft./Kayo
How come people who make dance music are so shitty at making hot dance tracks? Like, every EDM song in 2017 sounds like the apocalypse, and every dance song from 1997 is the saddest goddamned thing I've ever heard. "Don't go, my feeling can't be wrong." Now urrbody in the club gettin' desperate. Like what even is this, why are we putting this song in front of that "I'm Too Sexy" beat I can't stop hearing because Tay Tay ruined everything, why, why.
88) "Off the Books," by The Beatnuts ft./Big Punisher & Cuban Link
You know what, I didn't mind them. Everyone rapped well, and I appreciated a look at a life of crime that wasn't about drugs. You can also evade taxes, or launder money! Those are less fun crimes to commit than drugs, but they do the trick if you're out of drugs. I don't know how much of this song actually invovled money laundering, I just know the hook was "ain't nothin' but crooks in here/gettin' mad money off the books in here," and the song wasn't really worth paying attention to, so I'm just sort of hoping it was about the intricacies of money laundering.
90) "Love Is Alive," by 3rd Party
So OK this is just basic Euro stupidity CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FUCKING AMAZON AD. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FUCKING AMAZON AD WHERE THE DOG WISHES IT COULD TALK TO THE HUMAN. What even is the song they use in that ad? How did they find it? Like did they commission a song specifically for that ad? That song had to be written for the ad. They filmed and edited the ad, went to a coffee shop three blocks from the office, and asked people to take two minutes to write a song about a dog that wishes it could talk to humans. It's the worst goddamn song in the world and I have to hear it 20 times a week until the ad campaign is over because of this stupid fucking thing I'm doing. That's not fair. That's not fair! Why would you increase the degree of difficulty? I know it's late in the game, it's not supposed to be easy, but you're supposed to let me win. "I wish I could ask you how was your day." YOU'RE A DOG. YOU WISH FOR MEATS, AND THE DAY YOU DIE WILL BE THE HAPPIEST BECAUSE THAT IS THE DAY YOU GET TO HAVE A CHOCOLATE SOMETHING.
9.29.2007
14) "Good Life," Kanye West ft./T-Pain
This song is ridiculous because Kanye eventually is inspired by T-Pain to use Auto-tune on himself and makes three miserable masterpieces that affect pop/hip-hop for a decade, and this song is like the bounciest most triumphant thing off Graduation. Like you can trace a direct line from this song, with its jubilant T-Pain line and that delightful "more ass than the models" drop, to Lil Uzi Vert, who makes boring songs about how dark his mind is.
61) "1, 2, 3, 4," Feist
For some reason the top YouTube search result for this song is not this song, but rather the Plain White T's song. I hate that this is my algorithm. Also we talked about lineages, and we talked about the Amazon ad, and you can draw a direct line from this song's surprising rise to popularity to that goddamned Amazon ad. We made a folksy indie artist popular, and a decade later, we have a folksy indie-sounding song about a dog staring at a human and saying "UNDERSTAND ME! WHY?????" Like I'm listening to this song, and I'm no longer hearing the Apple ad, I'm hearing Linda from corporate's ringtone, because Linda from corporate downloaded the song from the Amazon ad. "It makes me so happy when the puppy talks to the baby!" Guys I'm not well.
86) "Inconsolable," Backstreet Boys
I feel like I'm on the precipice of an amazing joke or insight but all my brain is doing is staring at the words "Twenty years of not understanding why they keep giving AJ solos." Hey you wanna hear something bonkers? Two of the Backstreet Boys hadn't turned 30 when this song had been released. How the fuck are you gonna be in your late 20s and making adult contemporary jams. How is your life this over before you're at least 32. Also one of the Backstreet Boys was 36 in 2007. Sir, you are a Backstreet Man. I don't know what your problems are, but I can see you have several.
88) "Do It," Nelly Furtado
I mean, it exists. Like it just sort of starts, and then it doesn't stop. I felt like I was listening to this song for 1000 years because it just kept saying "do it like you do it to me." Except like I'd imagine this person is doing it to Nelly Furtado, so I guess I just don't understand why she wouldn't just urge him to keep doin' it? But then the song just faded out, and I'm just here like, did I actually listen to something? Was I supposed to hear a story, is this, is this a rough draft? Did they intend on polishing this before the release? "So you released the album before you finished the last track! Big deal! Everyone makes mistakes, everyone has those days, as we are fond of saying in 2007! But we will be releasing this as a single so the whole world can hear what a bad job you did."
93) "I'm So Hood," DJ Khaled ft./T-Pain, Trick Daddy, Rick Ross & Piles
Oh, DJ Khaled group cuts, at least you're never awful. You might only whelm, and I might think Piles is just an absolute zero of a person, but it's typically pleasant to hear you when you appear. DJ Khaled: not the worst since 2007.
94) "Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)," Wyclef Jean ft./Akon, Lil' Wayne & Niia
This would be a really touching song if it sounded like anyone on this track had spent time thinking about what it means to be a sex worker. Like I'm not tryna get all tumblr here, it's just, there's so many societal forces which combine to force someone into stripping, and these dudes are just like, "She used to be so nice! Such a shame she's doing this thing. Stupid money!" Like no there's so much more to it than that. But I'm also not sure Lil Wayn is in tune with the day's social issues. Also, heck is Lil Wayn doing on this song? It kind of feels like Lil Wayn was 100% on board with strip clubs for most of his career. This song is an outlier. I don't think Lil Wayne really think it's a tragedy when someone turns to stripping.
95) "My Drink n' My 2 Step," Cassidy ft./Swizz Beatz
This song is surprisingly good and I'm actually angry that the song I think of when I think of Cassidy is "Hotel" and not this jam. Cassidy's pretty much a one-hit wonder, but this should've been the hit.
96) "Firecracker," Josh Turner
This is a cute song and Josh Turner hits some gonzo low notes, but mostly I'm now obsessed with this idea of some country dude at some point calling his dick a firecracker. Like, I think it's nice he's calling his girl a firecracker, but there's gotta be a country dude somewhere making a joke about "don't get hurt holdin' my firecracker!" right? Or maybe we could use the Southern man's propensity for getting himself injured playing with firecrackers as a euphemism for masturbation. I dunno. I'm ready to move on, but if anyone wants to start making a bro country album with me, I am willing to chase this dog.
99) "Me Enamora," Juanes
This kind of sounds like the fun Latin song on a 2016 Backstreet Boys album. Like, it just doesn't sound as fun or as exotic as the Latin pop explosion of 2017. I think I'm just reacting to the presence of a dude playing guitar in the video. Like, that's how you remove mystique from a person, is just strap a guitar around them. That tells you he's the sort of person who walks around telling people he's a "storyteller" and Bob stop now before you just 100% rip off "guitar guy at the party."
100) "Kiss Kiss," Chris Brown ft./T-Pain
hey guess what nope
30 September 2017
5) "Too Good at Goodbyes," by Sam Smith
at first i thought "i have sang this song before" in the first verse and i was all "hey, thanks for writing my review buddy!" 'cuz like no shit he's sang this song before, this is the only song sam smith has ever song, the only emotion sam smith has ever felt in all his life is "melancholy" and his songs are bland and without flavor as a result, they're just pointlessly sad, also i said fuck you at my computer when the choir kicked in, like seriously of goddamn course a choir, titanic was less predictable
44) "Dusk Till Dawn," by ZAYN ft./Sia
You know what kinda ticked me off about this song that I'm not sure should tick me off but whatever? The chorus, where Zayn goes "I'll be waiting for right he-e-e-e-eeee-ee-e-e-e-eeeeee-e heeee-e-e-e-e-eeee-e-eeeere?" Like what are you trying to do with that long note if you have to take a breath during the middle of it? That rest doesn't add any tension, it only serves to take people out of the song and say, "Why'd you stop singing, dude? It sounded like you were just gonna keep singing for a few seconds. You lack breath control? Is that it? Zero technical skill, ZAYN?" But it's entirely possible I'm the only person annoyed by that. And it's also possible I just wanted to be annoyed at something in particular, rather than just pointing at this song and shouting "BAD" like I did in the first draft. Because hoo boy, this ain't a hot one!
62) "Love So Soft," by Kelly Clarkson
OH GOD YES KELLY IS ON THE HORN BANDWAGON. I WAS SO READY FOR THOSE HORNS, I KNOW HOW POP MUSIC'S BEEN TRENDING THIS YEAR, I WAS WORRIED THIS WOULD JUST BE A BALLAD FROM THE TITLE, BUT THERE IS LIGHT HORNAGE and also this is the best Kelly song in years. The thing her voice does when she sings "it sure gonna cost YOU" is pure and it also does a million other things because it just flies around this song, Kelly Clarkson is flexing on all these young women who've got a vocal range of "whispering." The last few weeks, we've seen a good Kesha song, a good Demi song, and this Kelly Clarkson masterpiece, and I never wanna hear from goddamn Fifth Harmony ever again, not when the standard has been set.
73) "I'll Name the Dogs," by Blake Shelton
one of my favorite tweets of all time said, "would you like some traditional gender rolls? my wife made them while i was at work," and that is all i can think of most days, but also especially while listening to this song. "you find the spot and i'll find the money/you be the pretty and i be the funny." i am too logged on to ever accept this song.
80) "Found You," by Kane Brown
i would like to rescind my interest in kane brown for the time being. "what ifs" was intense, but this is knock-off sam hunt, which is itself akin to store-brand wheat thins. whatever about kane brown's vocal work on "what ifs" has completely vanished, he sort of rotates between three notes, and the lyrics are completely devoid of character, it's just, "it would have been sad if we never dated" over The Electric Drum Beat. i expected better, sir, but i hope you can be better.
81) "Gucci Gang," by Lil Pump
...Well, at least I only had to waste two minutes of my life listening to The Trap Song. At some point, these songs will be four measures long and instead of lyrics they'll just make the fun trill noises. Honestly, the trill noises? Very good. I love dudes are just going "brr!" and rolling their rs.
85) "No Limit," by G-Eazy ft./A$AP Rocky & Cardi B
You know what I like about Cardi B? This is G-Eazy's song, but Cardi B comes on the track to say, "Put a white boy on a song, I might turn G-Eazy out." In Cardi B's mind, this is her song, and while this is not Kendrick on "Control," given how awful G-Eazy's verse and how cringey Rocky's hook is, I'm willing to believe it. Still, I'm really excited for Cardi B as she increases in power and becomes more and more able to take songs from the main artist. But not this one, I don't wanna listen to this song again, it's super bad.
98) "Pills and Automobiles," by Chris Brown ft./Yo Gotti, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie & Kodak Black
Yeah, I'm all good on hearing about the things Chris Brown does in cars.
99) "Let Me Go," by Hailee Steinfeld & Alesso ft./Florida Georgia Line & watt
We've given the song from the Amazon ad about a dog that wishes it could interact with the baby a lot of guff, but at least I had a reaction to it, which is more than I can say for this song. Why are there so many people on this track? How did Florida Georgia Line even get here? What did they add to this song that literally any other male singer couldn't? A second, even more useless voice? Who is watt? Am I supposed to know who watt is already? This song is dumb. I'm going to listen to "Love So Soft" fifty times.
Who won the week?
I mean. No one? 1997 was all boring, 2007 had a very good song and an ok song (Cassidy made the third-best song I heard this week. Cassidy), and 2017 has an incredible song, and then I listened to things that weren’t good for an hour. I think 2017′s gonna get it because “Love So Soft” is a lock for the top ten, whereas “Good Life” probably doesn’t make the Top 20, jubilant and lovely as it is. So basically “Love So Soft” is Kevin Garnett on the Timberwolves, just dragging a bunch of scrublords into the playoffs.
1993: 13 2007: 12 2017: 13
Next week, 1997 presents us with Aaliyah, Fiona Apple, and everyone’s favorite way to fulfill the Rule of Three: The Kinleys! 2007 responds with James Blunt, so, y’know, that’s gonna be something we have to spend time thinking about. And 2017 will give us a sassy young woman belting over horns, a tropical beat from a DJ of note, a trap song with a thousand trills, Latin pop IF WE’RE LUCKY, a song by a member of One Direction, and content from a shitheel.
