(i think, that one of those reasons why i always adored the scarecrow, even as a kid, not only bc of his horror aestetics, but also bc....fear is generally such a facinzting topic. such a vivid, mundane, yet awfully powerful thing. an' jonathan seems to view himself as both the master n' the slave of said emotion. or more so, he claims that he used to be overpowered by it as jonathan crane, but the scarecrow is the one, who holds it within his palm. an' i mean, both of those things are true an' co-exist. but in this instance, i only took the set-ups, where he's a scared, panicked lil animal. just how i like him, aside from him being absolutely nuts and' vicious as hell. bc i very much love those set-ups too!

but ahh, both drawings weren't planned. like not in a way, they are now at least. i was doodling idli an' sorta wanted to draw some sketchy spooked jon, then somehow other jons came into existence lol. so i just made a collage of them. drawing scarecrow an' scarebat stuff is cathartic for me. i just had to commit an' finish them. an' then make another art, just bc it felt right. or more like, i drew jonathan all distressed an' spooked, an' wanted to give him a comfort after being kinda mean to him. an' ah, yeah well….about that. i guess, one can say, that i kinda did it, but it still looks like a nightmare lmao. aka jon's main nightmare, where he associates batman with headless horseman. but it *batman* gives him a bit of comfort this time. it's kinda shippy, but also kinda not fully? as a shipper, i naturally see it as a nod to my otp, but honestly, this also can be just that. the bat being nice to jon, bc he's depressed an' intoxicated by fear an' mumbling things under his breath. at this point, it's my set-in-stone hc, that batman babysits him sometimes, when he's like this. so if i will draw it for like, third time at some point….then, i will draw it for third time, yea.

bc shippy or not, i just want bruce to pat poor sackhead on the shoulder, since he literally have no one to provide him any comfort / sympathy / pity, like ever. an' bruce can also finally see someone, whose life sucks way more than his own, so it's a win'win. not to mention, that batman's saviour complex prob always hella confused around jonathan. like, he's gotta smack him in the face, cuz' jon is evil, but he's also so sad an' kinda deplorable, that bruce wanna *or gonna* lecture his bullies for him lol.)

LONG POST AHEAD BEWARE!!!

i first got into the idea of fandom around 2010 after reading every available maximum ride book (my fourth grade teacher read us the first one). after that i picked up TITHE off the $1 dono cart at the library and become fully obsessed with the fae (also beginning my spiritual witchcraft journey).

my first fandom that i was truly active in was … black veil fucking brides. by 2011 i was MEGA into BVB, and i still have the CD my friend burned for me. i got super into the fandom space on facebook and ended up getting my very first tumblr account shortly after at the behest of a dearly beloved friend (i miss u ziggy and i hope you’re well♡)

it’s a little different with MCR because i was first starting to get into them on the tail end of the black parade right before danger days came out, but when danger days came out i was HOOKED. i got super into the emo trinity fandom and i was a little fucking menace.

i was sooooo deep into it. fucking frerard. that’s the entire reason i started writing fic actually. i started with frerard and branched out into BVB and the other emo bands that the alleged “emos” i went to school with were afraid of like motionless in white and of mice & men also regrettably including falling in reverse but we don’t fucking talk about that anymore.

i stayed extremely active in various emo bandoms for several years, going on to write some absolutely awful smut on wattpad that i’m sure if you dug hard enough you would find. for a hot fucking minute i was super into doing danger days killjoy RP on instagram and i’m still proud as fuck of my killjoy you can pry her out of my cold dead hands.

around about 2014 i got EXTREMELY invested in homestuck. and i mean INVESTED. i was starting fights online over that shit, drawing up little trollsonas, i was going to WAR for taureans. shockingly, i never wrote homestuck fic, but i did read the hell out of it.

by 2018 i had sort of fallen out of fandom, i wasn’t reading much fic and i hadn’t written anything in about 2 years. fast forward, i drop out of college, blow through a few shitbag exes, and then in february of 2022, i met my husband.

hubbin is SUPER into horror, all of it. i casually enjoyed it, didn’t know much about it, but i had a few movies and characters i really liked. he took me to my first horrorhound weekend in march ‘22, five days after we started officially dating and i’ve only missed one since then.

god i don’t even look like myself in those pictures ANYWAY

you know what else hubbin enjoys? video games. especially horror video games. he got me WILDLY into resident evil, and that’s when i rejoined tumblr with a new name and vibes.

overall 2022 was a really horrible year for me, and i truly don’t think i would have survived it without all of the support and friendships i had already begun to form at that point. MOVING ON

i very very quickly got into the leon kennedy/resi fandom after finding such wonderful fic writers as @lipglossanon, @venomvalley, and of course mi amor @tulipsbymybed♡

i’m not sure exactly what the progression was, but after a while i ended up in the pedro fandom after finding a few truly wonderful fic authors who have since left this site and some even the fandom entirely. i will miss them literally forever.

i started engaging more and more with pedro fandom content (esp TLOU), and found even more wonderful authors like @toxicanonymity and @strang3lov3, both of whom i am so glad that i now have the privilege of calling my friends♡

hubbin and i got married on october 13th, 2023 (a friday the 13th in october like i’ve always wanted♡) at a fucking PUMPKIN PATCH COULD THAT BE ANY MORE PERFECT

sometime in 2024 after i went and saw the strangers chapter 1 with hubbin, tox and i got to talking about sackhead. you’ll never believe this, but my first completed fic in EIGHT YEARS was not only about sackhead, but it was also x reader, AND smut!!! i didn’t think i could do it. but god dammit i did it.

i was still more into the resi fandom than the pedro fandom at that point, so a few folks will know i have a couple of leon fics in the works that i am beginning to fear may never see the sunlight. but who knows maybe one day you too can fuck leon kennedy.

when i started writing for TLOU i was actually way more into tommy than joel, and if i’m being honest i think i might still be. that’s when i wrote good men die too, followed by do you think of me, too? and i promise i’m working on more for that series i just got hit in the writer’s balls with a baseball bat and lost inspo.

but now here we sit, in 2025, and i am actively writing a joel series. please check it out if you haven’t already, it’s called ritual and i should have a masterlist up soon. you can find it and me on AO3, @sofmoth. shameless plug.

just watched The Strangers cuz ive heard so many people rave about it and man.....

it was shit! one of the most boring horror movies i have ever fucking watched. the woman (i dont even remember their names) had the most obnoxious voice and was a total stupid horror movie cliché. the whole movie was. i ended up falling asleep towards the end cuz i was so fucking bored. went back to watch the ending, shoulda stayed asleep 😒

i did however watch the "sequel" (honestly a whole different movie and thank fuck.) i REALLY liked it. at first i was totally turned off from it already (mainly Kinsley. such a teenage stereotype) but it got so much better as it progressed. the bathroom scene really got me and the one with kinsley in the tunnel? shat my pants. the pool scene was totally kickass too. finally get to see those fuckers get it. got kinda thrown off with the way Sackhead (whats his name???) had to die like 3 times. (the fire with Kinsley walking away was pretty cool......coulda left it there.) but still a great movie. especially the ending with Kinsley in the hospital as (presumably) a nurse knocks on the door and she gets all freaked out.

but yeah watch The Strangers: Prey at Night and dont let reddit movie bros try and tell you the first is in any way good.

a "good run" is often characterised by playing the game "faster". the point of the binding of isaac is risk, you can risk your health in new rooms, your health for the devil deal, your devil deal for the angel deal, your bombs for a chance at a probably useless secret room. when you get a good item its probably in part because u risked alot for it, be it by clearing out every floor or missing item rooms for the planetarium (sometimes u just get lucky though) and by risking alot you make things way more interesting.

setting urself to two hp on the bloodbank for sackhead which gets u the keys u need for the golden chest one floor down which ends up being crickets head still means that u had to play a floors at 2hp and then continue playing at that low but on a harder level and with crickets head (and if u played badly u might be on less than 2 health).

a goodrun has u playing with less things for more time as u sacrifice for a spin at the metaphorical slot machine of trying to get a good item. and even when u get the item it will still be after sacrificing alot.

the game will be faster because u will have less resources but more power as u clear through rooms with ease.

in the best runs u will get an overpowered item early on and then feel obliged (if u truly want a great run) to go for the hush or for boss rush (actions that have a high opportunity cost and will probably lead to u having a worse run as u rush through things) and therefore u will still be playing the game but with more stakes and faster. you dont have time to collect as many soul hearts as you could so you need to earn your devil deal more even as the fights take less time.

for good things to happen so much risk is often involved that you will not be playing less, you will be playing with more in less time, with less hearts and more power, with less room for error and less time to make mistakes in.

the point of the hush being op is to make you need to earn beating it, not just on the stage u fight it, but everywhere else. and to earn the ability to go yes, yes my build is strong enough to beat it, and yes, yes i have taken enough risks to get that strong.

sometimes u do just get staggeringly lucky but hey thats life, the fun thing about isaac is that even if u get staggeringly unlucky, there are so many small ways to eak out a few coins or know exactly where to place a bomb to massively increase ur chances to win by a few percentage points no matter what. and as the floors go down things just get harder so you know you need to eak out those points if you are struggling now.

the binding of isaac is like golf, in that a "good run" is characterized by being spared from playing the binding of isaac. you get excited when you get good items because it means you'll spend less time fighting enemies & dodging bullets. cricket's head triggers neuron activation because it signals that you won't have to fight hush long enough for it to do the sky beam attack at the same time as the continuum tears thing.
