I am so sorry for the horrible treatment Jordan Chilles is receiving from those terrible people. But for her sister to say that "It's an injustice that they took away her bronze medal" is, to be redundant, an injustice in itself. The Romanian competitor, like Jordan, gave everything to win. Why was what happened to her not an injustice? Why can't the United States ever look past themselves?

Sabrina Voinea (ROU) earns the silver medal in the floor exercise at the 2024 Rimini European Championships. Her mother and coach, Camelia Voinea, won the silver medal in the same event, 37 years prior at the 1987 European Championships.

the way i see it is:
Jordan's Gogean never should've been credited, inquiry or not. it's just not a creditable Gogean imo.
accepting a late inquiry is a horrific, unprofessional mistake by the judges - that being said, reverting the score after investigation is FAIR because the inquiry should not have been accepted in the first place!! The score should not have been changed at all, and Barbosu would be on the podium.
Voinea absolutely robbed by the awful OOB call, but also fair that the score doesn't get changed, they never challenged the neutral deduction during the comp and i don't think people should get to challenge scores after the fact unless, of course, something actually went wrong with the competition process itself (for example, like a late inquiry). This would be consistent with FIG acknowledging that they fucked up Yang Tae-young's scores in Athens 2004 but refusing to change the official scores since the inquiry was not submitted on time, thus costing him gold.
if everything had been perfectly judged on the day of, Voinea should have been the one walking away with a medal. In this current situation, I think Barbosu is the rightful bronze winner.
Having Jordan hand in her bronze also seems immensely cruel (even though from a logistics/scoring POV, I understand why she can't keep it) and I feel like the ideal situation would've been to make another bronze medal for Barbosu and just correct the standings on all the official records.
That there's a possibility of a mistake with the timekeeping in the official review is crazy to me - if USAG is right, it would be a huge inexplicable discrepancy. I honestly find it unlikely that whatever USAG has is more accurate than their own footage/records, but FIG/CAS has been so incompetent thus far that it's hard to know what to think.
Overall, horrible situation! It's giving shades of Athens 2004.

Um, you know how we keep fan casting our new faves? Well, I have a new contender for Savannah; Sabrina Voinea, the Romanian gymnast who was Ana Barbosu’s teammate during the Olympics. Her Instagram posts literally give off Savannah Grayson vibes and I’m here for it. Also girlie is 17 so she’s even right about the same age as her AND she's an athlete (ok, so Sav is a basketball player and Sabrina's a gymnast; ignore that but at least they're in the same realm of reality). It’s perfect. Thank you Euro Cup (if you don’t know what I’m referring to, look up Lamine Yamal; tell me you don't see Xander in him) and Olympics for giving me real world examples of how I envision these characters.

What did they post on their socials sorry I don't know how to find it
Sabrina Voinea was posting a couple fan accounts that were slandering Jordan and being straight up racist. Her own mother had to come out and apologize for her behavior.
Ana hasn't done anything, and we're waiting for her official statement after taking bronze

At this point I think the judges need to get together and rescore all of the routines from the floor final and reaward all of the medals because 1) Jordan, Ana, and Sabrina are being put through so much so needlessly; 2) the incorrect d scores and false out of bound calls should never have happened and 3) all this drama is making this sport and these judges seem like such a joke

I've never gone hard for sabrina but closing with this beam set for a total putting them ahead of south korea, spain and belgium for olympic qualification is quite amazing and promising

so, from what i gather, there are now three possible different answers for who won bronze in this fucking final: if you go by the results as they were for the medal ceremony, jordan won. if you go by the scores originally given and the rules as they should have been followed, ana won. but if you go by what actually happened (ie, sabrina did not actually go out of bounds), sabrina won. MESS
