Fantasy Novels/Series I Think Are CRIMINALLY Underhyped
Just as the title says, this is simply a list of fantasy novels and series that I think deserve all the hype and yet I basically never see people talking them up. These are not in any kind of order because they're all amazing. If you read any of these please hmu because I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Since the city of Bezim was shaken half into the sea by a magical earthquake, the Inquisitors have policed alchemy with brutal efficiency. Nothing too powerful, too complicated, too much like real magic is allowed–and the careful science that’s left is kept too expensive for any but the rich and indolent to tinker with. Siyon Velo, a glorified errand boy scraping together lesson money from a little inter-planar fetch and carry, doesn’t qualify. But when Siyon accidentally commits a public act of impossible magic, he’s catapulted into the limelight. Except the limelight is a bad place to be when the planes themselves start lurching out of alignment, threatening to send the rest of the city into the sea. Now Siyon, a dockside brat who clawed his way up and proved himself on rooftops with saber in hand, might be Bezim’s only hope. Because if they don’t fix the cascading failures of magic in their plane, the Powers and their armies in the other three will do it for them.
A god will return When the earth and sky converge Under the black sun In the holy city of Tova, the winter solstice is usually a time for celebration and renewal, but this year it coincides with a solar eclipse, a rare celestial event proscribed by the Sun Priest as an unbalancing of the world. Meanwhile, a ship launches from a distant city bound for Tova and set to arrive on the solstice. The captain of the ship, Xiala, is a disgraced Teek whose song can calm the waters around her as easily as it can warp a man’s mind. Her ship carries one passenger. Described as harmless, the passenger, Serapio, is a young man, blind, scarred, and cloaked in destiny. As Xiala well knows, when a man is described as harmless, he usually ends up being a villain.
The Omehi people have been fighting an unwinnable fight for almost two hundred years. Their society has been built around war and only war. The lucky ones are born gifted. One in every two thousand women has the power to call down dragons. One in every hundred men is able to magically transform himself into a bigger, stronger, faster killing machine. Everyone else is fodder, destined to fight and die in the endless war. Young, gift-less Tau knows all this, but he has a plan of escape. He's going to get himself injured, get out early, and settle down to marriage, children, and land. Only, he doesn't get the chance. Those closest to him are brutally murdered, and his grief swiftly turns to anger. Fixated on revenge, Tau dedicates himself to an unthinkable path. He'll become the greatest swordsman to ever live, a man willing to die a hundred thousand times for the chance to kill the three who betrayed him.
Twenty-seven years ago, a Duke with a grudge led a ruthless coup against the empire of Semilla, killing thousands. He failed. The Duke was executed, a terrifyingly powerful sorcerer was imprisoned, and an unwilling princess disappeared. The empire moved on. Now, when Quill, an apprentice scribe, arrives in the capital city, he believes he's on a simple errand for another pompous noble: fetch ancient artifacts from the magical Imperial Archives. He's always found his apprenticeship to a lawman to be dull work. But these aren't just any artifacts — these are the instruments of revolution, the banners under which the Duke lead his coup. Just as the artifacts are unearthed, the city is shaken by a brutal murder that seems to have been caused by a weapon not seen since the days of rebellion. With Quill being the main witness to the murder, and no one in power believing his story, he must join the Archivists — a young mage, a seasoned archivist, and a disillusioned detective — to solve the truth of the attack. And what they uncover will be the key to saving the empire – or destroying it again.

Workin on a doodle! They make me so happy. 🥹
As a pair, they make a powerful duo.
Grogu may be a Celestial being but his power is unmatched. Din knows and starting to understand “magic stuff” (as he calls it, even he himself uses it.) Grogu learns many things over the years and kept his true identity from anyone, even from his Buir. Din has no clue but can sense the difference from him, although he is still learning what is natural and what is magical.
While Akumu, by experience and extensive training, knows what Grogu is but chooses not to say anything by Grogu’s request. He doesn’t want his Buir to know that side from him quite yet. (That would be revealed later in the series. Hehe)
The reason why the broken empire is after him is because of what he is. His blood itself can turn any non-dragocian beings into mages/halfling. AND a single scale dropped from him can turn anyone a temporary mage. Moff knows this and has already retrieved a few scales from him. This is how he was able to use the dark saber so effectively. (Later, he does start to change a bit. Just a tad bit more scaly.) Moff didn’t know what Din is and Din will take an advantage of that. :3c
After the extensive training with Akumu, the dark saber became lighter for him as Din slowly became accepting of himself and his duty as Manda’lor. The dark saber has reached to point that only Din himself can wield and use it to its full potential. (Such as slicing through without actually cutting anything, leaving behind that burning sensation for a few moments. And an ability to return to its wielder.) Additionally, if Din ever accidentally moves the dark saber the incorrect way (to cutting himself), the blade will not react to him as if the blade is just a light passing through. (Not canon but is canon in AU. Cuz obviously, magical stuff. This is true for ALL light sabers. Jeti knows this and actually took advantage of this many times. But this is more unspoken among the people.)

“Alright. Let’s see if I can capture her demeanor.” He said with a grin as they both worked on the dolls they chose. Mizumi kept pricking his fingers every few minutes or so from going to fast, but two hours later it was all worth it. “Hehehehe~ Look ya this, Yukino! Think I did well?” He said to her as he held up a doll of Minerva with her blue dress on, black thread for her hair and a drawn on frowny face to complete it.
Mizumi and Yukino go Shopping! (Closed rp with saber-celestial-mage)
The store clerk nodded and apologized to the water mage as he watched them leave.
“Sorry about that, Yukino. A woman of your stature deserves to be loved and served!” Mizumi said with sparkles once more.

Chapter Five: The Rescue
WARNING: TORTURE!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The mages of Fairy Tail sat within their guild, drinking, laughing, and talking. It was a strangely calm day for the destructive guild. Perhaps it was because several Sabertooth mages and Crime Sorciere were visiting. Jellal and his friends had decided to drop by before they went off to continue fighting dark guilds. Sting had decided that the perfect way to celebrate his miraculous freedom from paperwork was to drag Rogue, Rufus, Orga, and Minerva to Fairy Tail for the purpose of hanging out.
All were calm. That is, all were calm except for three certain mages. Freed sat with Laxus, Evergreen, and Bixlow, his arms crossed over his chest and his leg bouncing as he glanced over at the guild's doors every minute. It had been a full week since Lucy left. He wasn't upset that she had missed their lunch date. Instead, he was worried. Mira had told him that the blonde was going to Poppy Town on a job with Yukino and Sorano. Poppy Town was only an hour away and since there were three of them, they should've been finished by now. So, where was Lucy?
Worry bubbled in his gut as he struggled to calm the distressing thoughts that ran through his mind. His usually logical brain was jumping to the worst of conclusions like how Natsu jumps into fights. He tried to tell himself that he was being ridiculous. That Lucy was a more than capable mage and could take care of herself on a job. He tried to tell himself that she was fine. But, was she? He couldn't help but wonder if maybe she had run into trouble and was in danger.
Freed looked over at his closest friends. They were talking with each other, seeming to not notice his worrying. His sea-green gaze moved to the first floor of the guildhall. His eyes roamed over the mages, trying to find at least one other person that noticed the strangely long absence of Fairy Tail's Light.
He didn't see anything out of the ordinary with his guildmates. As the green-haired man was distracted, he felt someone tapping on his shoulder. Freed looked to his side, seeing Laxus staring at him with a raised eyebrow. The dragon slayer asked, "are you okay, Freed?"
The rune mage looked down at the table he was sitting at. He furrowed his brow as he answered, "Lucy should be back by now, don't you think?"
He kept his eyes on the table, listening as Laxus answered, "I guess a week is a bit long for her."
Evergreen then spoke up, "she went with two Sabers. I agree that they should be back by now."
Bixlow suggested, "they could be staying in Poppy Town to shop, or something else that women do." His babies echoed the word "women" as they floated around the small group.
Freed nodded. It sounded reasonable. Evergreen responded, "for a week? Not even I shop for that long."
As the small group continued to debate if Lucy's absence should be cause for worry, Rufus looked around the guildhall, searching for a certain celestial wizard. The only reason he had allowed Sting to drag him to Fairy Tail was so he could finish what he had started and ask Lucy on a date like he was trying to do before Yukino dragged her away.
However, the blonde woman wasn't present. He looked over at Natsu, who was having an argument with Sting. The memory-make mage tapped on the pink-haired man's shoulder, getting his attention. He then asked, "I would like to inquire as to where Lucy is."
Natsu stared at him blankly, probably trying to figure out what he was asking. The dragon slayer then suddenly exclaimed, "oh! You're asking where Luce is! She went on a job with Yukino and Sorano!"
Rufus nodded and Natsu returned to his argument with Sting. He looked over at the guildhall's doors as if Lucy would just burst through them at that moment. He guessed that he'd have to wait for her to return to ask her out. As he stared at the entrance to Fairy Tail, he remembered when she had visited Sabertooth and he flirted with her before trying to ask her on a date. The memory of the lovely blush on her radiant face made Rufus smile to himself and he felt a bit of heat creep onto his cheeks. He wondered how much he could make Lucy blush. Would kissing her have the same effect? He frankly couldn't wait to find out.
He was brought out of his thoughts when he heard a feminine voice coo right next to him, "what's got you blushing, Rufus?"
The blonde man jumped in his seat and snapped his head around to look behind him, seeing Fairy Tail barmaid standing there, her hands clasped in front of her and an innocent smile on her face. The white-haired woman inquired, "are you thinking about a certain woman or man that has your heart?"
Rufus felt the faint heat on his cheeks increase, the accompanying blush growing from a light pink to a redder shade. He looked away from the older woman and tilted his hat downward slightly, a failed effort to hide his blush. He had heard about the so-called "Matchmaking Demon" from Fairy Tail and didn't want any part of whatever plot she was already coming up with.
Mira leaned closer to him and sang, "who is it? I would love to help you woo this person!"
Rufus gently pushed her away, dismissing, "would you kindly mind your business? I do not need any assistance with anything."
Mira laughed lightly before she responded, "if you say so! Don't forget, I'm always happy to help!" She then strode away, most likely to continue serving her guildmates. Rufus looked back at the guild's doors. He wondered when Lucy would return. He hoped that he wouldn't have to wait too long.
As Rufus stared at the pair of wooden doors, Midnight sat alone at a corner table. He stared around at the loud mages, his red eyes searching for the celestial wizard that has strangely caught his attention. Since his previous encounter with Lucy, he hadn't been able to stop thinking about her. He couldn't figure out why. What was so appealing about her?
He would admit, the blonde woman was gorgeous, intelligent, kind, and seemed to easily draw people to her. The former dark mage has found himself being allured by her, wanting to be near her whenever he saw her and getting this rotten feeling in his gut every time he saw a man get close to her.
Why was he feeling this way? Why did Lucy incite such feelings in him when nobody else has ever done the same? Was it that he just really wanted to be her friend? Could that be it? Midnight sighed. He needed to get over this want to get closer to her soon. How could he become her friend after everything that he had done to her? How could she forgive him? What right did he have to become her friend?
The young man looked around the guildhall. A feeling of guilt settled in his gut. Maybe he could make it up to her. Maybe if he redeemed himself to her, then he would finally feel like he was free of his previous wrongdoings.
Midnight was sad to find that Lucy wasn't in the guild. Or, at least, he didn't see her anywhere. Could she be avoiding him? That thought made his mood sink further. He couldn't blame her if that were the case, considering what he had done to her. Could she be afraid of him? He didn't want her to be scared of him. He wanted to be close to her. He wanted to know that she had forgiven him. He wanted to redeem himself to her. The others didn't seem to matter to him, just Lucy. Why? He couldn't figure it out.
The two-tone-haired man looked down at his lap. He couldn't figure out what he wanted to do. Stay away from Lucy and save her the torture of having to be near him or try to atone for everything he had done to her and befriend her? Which was better for him to do? He wasn't sure.
As Freed, Rufus, and Midnight were deep in their thoughts that centered around a single blonde celestial wizard, the guildhall's doors slammed open, causing all of the occupants to look over in surprise. Leaning against the doorway and panting heavily was one of Lucy's celestial spirits, Aries. The pink-haired spirit looked up at the mages, tears threatening to spill from her eyes, and announced in a distressed tone, "Lucy, Yukino, and Angel have been captured!" Many of the present mages promptly began panicking, with several others trying to calm everyone down.
As Laxus, Evergreen, and Bixlow stared down at Aries in shock, Freed jumped up from his seat and hopped over the railing, landing smoothly on his feet. He joined Natsu, Gray, and Erza in demanding to know what happened from the panicking celestial spirit.
Rufus stared down at the table he sitting at. His mind was reeling at this information. Lucy, Yukino, and Sorano were captured by dark mages. A feeling of fear and dread filled his gut as his mind wandered to the possibilities of what the three women could be going through. He had to help save them.
Midnight watched the scene before him with widened eyes. He felt tears prick the corners of his eyes and his mind went blank. He was frozen to where he sat. Lucy and Sorano were in trouble? He had to rescue them, but why couldn't he move? His brain seemed to stop functioning and his body was frozen. What happened to him? This has never happened before. Fairy Tail went into chaos as the former dark mage remained unmoving, his brain not even creating worst-case scenarios. He was simply frozen.
Lucy groaned from where she hung from the ceiling. She was strung up from her wrists by chains, hanging in the air within a cell. Across from her was a closed, barred cell door. Through it, she could see an unconscious Yukino, hanging from the ceiling in the same way that she was. There were two other cells, both of which were occupied.
The battered blonde tried to move as little as possible, not wanting to make the pain she was already in increase. She was sure that she was a bloody mess. She had been tortured continuously since their capture. She involuntarily shivered, causing her to groan from the pain. She was drenched in blood, her body covered in slashes and burn marks, while her clothing was completely gone, leaving her once unblemished body naked for all to see.
She hung her head, remembering their first day in these cells:
Lucy jolted awake on a cold and dirty, stone floor. She sat up with a groan, rubbing her head in a failed attempt to ease the dull pain. She gazed around her, waiting for her eyes to adjust to the dim lighting. Once doing so, she took in her surroundings. She was inside what looked like a prison cell, the barred door closed tightly. There was no window, only the door offered any exit. She crawled over to the bars of the cell's entrance and pulled herself up by them. Once on her feet, the blonde looked into the cell across from her, gasping when she saw Yukino, still laying on her side.
Lucy called to her friend, "Yukino! Yukino, wake up!"
No response came from the light blue-haired woman. Just as she was about to call out for Sorano to make sure she was present and unharmed, the older woman from the cell beside hers spoke up with concern, "Lucy! Are you alright?"
The blonde answered, "yes, I'm fine! How about you?"
Sorano responded, "I have a bit of a headache, but other than that, I'm alright!"
A third voice then joined them, "Lucy? Is that you?"
Lucy looked over at the cell next to Yukino's, watching as another young woman walked over to the bars of the door. She gasped at who she saw.
Queen Hisui!
What was she doing here? Shouldn't she be at her castle? Lucy looked over the queen, relieved to see that she was unharmed, albeit a little scuffed up from what was probably a struggle. The blonde questioned, "what are you doing here?"
Hisui shook her head, answering, "I'm not quite sure. I was visiting some friends when I was suddenly ambushed by a group of dark mages. They managed to take out all of my guards and my celestial spirits. I woke up here before you and Sorano."
Lucy looked down at her feet. She could understand why she, Yukino, and Sorano were captured, but why Hisui? Why take three mages hostage when you already have a queen? She looked over at the green-haired woman and asked, "do you have any idea why we are here?"
Hisui shook her head while Sorano offered, "ransom, maybe?"
Lucy's grip on the bars in front of her tightened slightly. She looked down at the floor as she voiced her thoughts, "why would they ransom three regular mages when they have the queen?"
Before anything also could be said, a groan came from Yukino's cell. Lucy and Sorano looked over to see the younger of the three sat up, dazed. Upon coming to her senses, Yukino jumped to her feet and rushed to the bars at the entrance to her cell. She quickly spotted Lucy and her sister, exclaiming with a relieved smile, "Lucy! Sorano! Are either of you hurt?"
Lucy shook her head as Sorano answered, "we're fine. The queen is here too." She pointed toward the cell next to Yukino's.
Yukino pushed her face against the bars, straining to see into the other cell. When she couldn't, she instead called out, "are you really there, Hisui?"
The queen called back, "yes, I'm here."
Yukino looked between Lucy and Sorano, questioning with a panicked look on her face, "why are we here?"
Sorano answered, "we have no idea."
Before anybody could say anything else, the sound of a heavy, metal door rang through the corridor that the cells lined. Footsteps followed as the four women waited in tense silence. The footsteps soon came to an end when a woman and two men came to a stop between Yukino's and Lucy's cells.
The woman was tanned, dressed in a black, cropped tub top and baggy, camo pants, and black heels. Her pink hair was tied into a high ponytail that reached her mid-back with a black ribbon and had striking blue eyes. A brown belt was nestled around her hips, a brown pouch on it, presumably containing her keys. The man on her right had brown skin, his black hair was shoulder-length and styled into dreadlocks. His dark brown eyes looked almost black. His clothing consisted of no shirt, revealing a well-muscled abdomen, a dark blue trench coat, and baggy, black pants. He had no type of bag hanging from his black belt, making Lucy wonder where his keys were. Did he use requip magic like her? The man on the left of the woman had pale skin, and hip-length, blue hair that was tied into a low ponytail. His eyes were different colors, one purple and one pink. He wore a black tank top and brown jeans that seemed to hug his lower body snuggly. A black belt was wrapped around his hips, a drawstring bag was hanging from it.The woman was smirking smugly while the men's faces were blank.
The woman took a step forward and pronounced, "Lucy Heartfilia, Yukino and Sorano Agria, and Queen Hisui. The only four remaining mages capable of using Celestial Spirit Magic...besides us, of course." Her voice was high-pitched, sounding almost like a child.
Hisui gripped the bars tightly, demanding, "why are we here?"
The woman chuckled. She snapped her fingers and the two men moved to Lucy's cell. They grabbed a struggling Lucy, quickly gagged her, and dragged her out of the cell. They disappeared through a large, metal door as the woman spoke, "well, first we are going to have some fun with you four. Then, we are going to take your keys so we can take over the Celestial Spirit World."
As Yukino, Sorano, and Hisui yelled after the woman, she left through the aforementioned door, leaving the other three mages to despair.
Lucy struggled in the metal chair that she was tied to. She had been brought by the two men to a room with a stone floor and stone walls, empty with the exception of the chair and a table of what she feared were torture devices laying on a long piece of cloth.
She breathed heavily through her nose as she stopped struggling and looked around the room as best she could. Her heart was racing and she could feel beads of sweat rolling down her temples. She felt fear grip her heart, a feeling that she hadn't felt in a long time. She wasn't particularly scared for her own safety, just couldn't find the will to care, instead, she was scared for the safety of her three friends. She had to escape and help them. But how was she supposed to get herself out of here?
Lucy was brought out her thoughts by the metal door across the room opening, dragging against the wooden floor loudly. She watched with a furrowed brow as the brown-skinned man walked into the room, his face blank, just like earlier. He stopped in front of her, his arms behind his back. He stared down at her for several silent moments before he reached forward and pulled the gag out of her mouth, letting it rest under her chin.
Lucy demanded, "who are you? What's going on?"
The man's expression didn't change. He stared down at her for what felt like several hours before finally speaking, "I'm Nyx."
Lucy's eyes widened slightly. She was surprised at the sound of his voice. He sounded young, like he was still a teenager. Now that she was able to get a good look at him in the dim light that was provided by the two closed windows, he looked like he was no older than sixteen. He looked like a kid.
She soon got over her shock and repeated, "what's going on?"
Nyx walked over to the table as he spoke in an even tone, "we want to take over the Celestial Spirit World. In order to do that, we need all eighty-eight of the Celestial Spirit Gate Keys."
Lucy stared at him, watching as he looked over the torture devices on it. So, she, Yukino, and Hisui were captured because they were keyholders, the last ones except for Nyx and his two partners, apparently. Why capture Sorano though? Sure, she was a Celestial Spirit Mage, but not anymore.
The blonde voiced her confusion, "why capture Sorano? She doesn't use Celestial Spirit Magic."
The young man didn't answer. He picked up a strip of cloth and made his way back over to Lucy. As the bound woman spoke, a hint of fear in her voice, "I don't understand." When she noticed the blindfold, she questioned, no longer hiding the fear that began to fill her, "what are you going to do?"
Nyx walked behind her and tied the blindfold around her head covering her eyes. Lucy was suddenly engulfed by darkness. She shook her head trying to make the blindfold slide from its place. She yelled at the young man, "what are you doing? What's going on?" She could feel herself beginning to panic. It was strange. She hadn't gone into a state of panic in so long that she had forgotten what it felt like. She tried to wrench her arms free of the thick ropes that bound them to the armrests. She felt a stinging pain in her wrists, telling her that the struggling she had been doing caused the self-inflicted cuts to open again.
She froze when she felt Nyx grab her right hand, holding it in a way in which her fingers were outstretched. She muttered, "please, don't-"
Before she could finish her plea, she felt one of her fingernails get pried off of the finger that it belonged to. She let out a short, pained scream before she bit her lip, almost drawing blood. The pain was excruciating. She bit her lip harder as the young man pulled another nail, and then another, until all five of her fingers were fingernail-less.
Tears threatened to fall, but she blinked rapidly to make them go away. She refused to let him hear her scream or see her tears. Nyx soon moved to her other hand, ripping nail after nail, causing Lucy to bite her lip even more, her struggle to hold back the tears that welled up in her eyes becoming harder to do. She felt blood drip rapidly from her stripped nail beds, just as blood from her lip rolled down her chin and dripped onto her chest.
She listened as Nyx walked away from her. Lucy's breathing came in shallow pants as she listened to Nyx's footsteps. They stopped for only a few moments before they began again, coming closer. She felt him grab the rope that tied her ankles together, lifting her bare feet onto an object that left them elevated. She involuntarily flexed her fingers, causing more pain to shoot through them.
She hated not being able to see what was happening. She opened her mouth to speak when a sudden sharp pain shot through her feet, up her legs, and into the rest of her body. She let out a scream as Nyx continued to whip the bottoms of her feet with a blunt object, perhaps a cane or pipe.
Lucy bit further into her lip, drawing more blood. Her fingernail-less fingers gripped the armrests painfully as tears slipped from under the blindfold and down her cheeks. She felt the skin on the bottoms of her feet break open and bleed. All she could hear was the sound of the blunt object hitting her now bleeding feet, and all she could feel was the pain that engulfed her body from the torture. The blonde tried to pull her feet away, but Nyx had a strong grip on them, managing to hold them in place and hit the arches and soles with great force.
The beating eventually stopped and Nyx walked away once again, leaving Lucy in the chair, her fingers and the bottoms of her feet bleeding and throbbing with pain. Tears streamed down her face as she panted, struggling to contain herself.
She had expected to be subjected to more torture, but was instead unblindfolded and dragged back to her cell. She was thrown onto the stone floor with a yelp. The blonde pushed herself into a sitting position with her bleeding and pained hands. Grimacing in the process, she crawled over to the bars at the entrance to her cell and looked through them at Hisui's and Yukino's cells. She gasped and cried more at what she saw. Hisui's was empty and Yukino lay on her side, her back to Lucy. The light blue-haired woman was shivering and covered in blood as she hugged herself.
Lucy called to her, "Yukino!"
When the other celestial wizard didn't answer, Lucy looked in the direction of Sorano's cell, calling out, "Sorano? Are you there?"
She received no answer.
Lucy panted as she looked back at Yukino. She had to find a way to get her and her friends out. Either that, or try to hold out for rescue, but what was the likelihood of either happening? Was this how they would die? That thought raced around in her mind as the blonde felt her body go weak and lose consciousness.
Over the course of an unknown amount of days, Lucy, Yukino, Sorano, and Hisui had been tortured for hours on end, the woman, apparently named Terra, and one of her right-hand men, named Lust, seemed to take sadistic pleasure in the act, while Nyx only tortured with a blank expression, seeming to not be enjoying it.
Lucy had tried to appeal to the young man, hoping that maybe he could be swayed. However, no such luck. Nyx would simply become more aggressive with his torturing, causing Lucy to scream and cry, preventing her from talking to him.
Her brown eyes shifted to the direction of the metal door upon hearing it open and footsteps follow. She lifted her head as much as she could and watched as Nyx opened her cell door and walk toward her. He unchained the blonde and carried her out of the cell, through the large, metal door, through a wide, dark hallway, and into a torture room.
As Lucy was sat in the chair, she tried to struggle, managing to bring her hands up to push weakly against Nyx's chest. However, she was too weak to force him away from her. Her wrists were quickly tied down to the armrests and her hair was yanked on painfully, forcing her head to fall back, her face looking up at the ceiling.
As she waited for the torture to start, she began to wonder. How long had they been there? Was help going to come? Did anybody notice that they were missing? Were they going to be killed soon? Lucy hadn't been able to find a way to escape, and she quickly became unable to even stand. Sorano, Hisui, and Yukino weren't in any better shape. Honestly, Lucy wasn't even sure if they were alive. The blonde woman was rapidly losing hope as time went on with no rescue or chance of escape. Now, she just wished that her captures would kill her so that she wouldn't have to suffer for much longer. But, she knew that death was a distant dream.
Her vision was quickly covered by a piece of cloth that was being placed over her face. She hadn't had time to even question what was going to happen before a stream of water was poured over her face. Lucy's gag reflex kicked in and she began to cough and choke, trying to inhale some much-needed oxygen. She felt like she was drowning. The water was being poured over her nose and mouth. It took all of what little strength she had left to pull her arms and legs against her restraints. She wiggled as best she could, hoping that maybe she could get the piece of cloth to slide off of her face. She could feel herself losing consciousness as she experienced what it was like to drown. Her lungs burned due to the lack of oxygen.
Just as she felt herself slip out of consciousness, she heard the door open and Terra shout, "Nyx! We need to leave!"
Lucy didn't hear Nyx answer as he stopped the water and rushed out of the room, leaving Lucy where she was. The celestial wizard allowed the darkness to consume her as she heard a man's voice call out to her, "Lucy! You're going to be okay!"
Midnight followed Aries through a forest in Poppy Town, making their way to the hideout of the dark mages that captured Lucy, Sorano, and Yukino. He had been chosen by Makarov to rescue the trio of mages. Also chosen were Minerva, Sting, Erik, Laxus, and Mira. Two other mages, a green-haired man and a blonde man, insisted on going as well, but Makarov had denied both of their requests, stating that if the group he had chosen needed backup then they will be sent in. Midnight was fine with that. He wanted to be the one that saved Lucy. He didn't need anybody trying to get in his way.
So, now the group was walking behind Lucy's celestial spirit, all itching to save their friends. He tried to not think about what the three women were going through, knowing the dark mages were most likely not being kind. His mind returned to Lucy, no matter hard he tried to not think about her. He was worried about Sorano, why wouldn’t he be? But, for some reason, he couldn't get Lucy out of his mind. He couldn't keep his worry from focusing more on her. Why? What the hell was going on? Why was he so focused on that blonde woman who he had tormented?
He felt someone gently elbow him, trying to subtly get his attention. Midnight looked to his right to see Erik. The dragon slayer's face was expressionless, but his eye revealed that he was concerned. The maroon-haired man questioned with a voice so quiet that only Midnight could hear him, "you good? Worried about Blondie?"
Midnight turned his gaze to look back at Aries. He simply nodded his head, whispering back, "I don't know why. Shouldn't I be more worried about Sorano?"
He heard Erik chuckle before responding with an amused tone, "never thought I'd see the day."
"What day?"
"The day that you would fall in love. Guess I owe Richard a thousand jewel." The last part was grumbled.
Midnight looked at Erik with furrowed brows. His friend didn't actually think that he was in love, did he? The younger man corrected, "I'm not in love with Lucy."
Erik simply rolled his eye and muttered, "whatever" before he drifted away from him.
Midnight looked back at Aries. He wasn't in love with Lucy, right? He couldn't be. He had no right to fall in love with her after everything he did. He had no chance with her, so this want he has, it is merely a want to befriend her, not date her.
Needing a distraction, the two-tone-haired man asked the celestial spirit in front of him, "how were you able to get to the guild?"
Aries glanced back at him before answering meekly, "our keys were placed under a spell, so none of us could summon ourselves. I was able to escape because one of the dark mages summoned me. I managed to run away and switch to using my own magic."
Minerva observed, "since you're out on your own magic, the mage that summoned you can't close your gate." Aries nodded at that.
Midnight furrowed his brow at that. How the hell did they get Lucy's keys? Didn't she use requip magic to hold on to her keys? It seemed that he wasn't the only one to wonder that. Mira questioned, "Lucy uses requip magic. How did they get her keys?"
Aries shrugged, responding, "I don't know. Maybe they have a requip mage that can reach into another's pocket dimension."
Mira merely hummed in response. Midnight balled his fists. That was possible? He had never heard of that happening. Could Erza do that? There was something for him to investigate. He was brought back to the present when Aries spoke, "we're here." She stopped walking and turned to the others, continuing, "they have a celestial spirit that guards the hideout. I'll distract him while the rest of you go in."
Midnight and the others responded with nods and watched as Aries pushed through the vegetation and walk toward the hideout, which looked like a warehouse. She yelled for someone named Grus and soon raced for the trees on the other side of the clearing, a bird-like man flying after her. Minerva and Laxus immediately rushed toward the hideout, Sting, Midnight, Erik, and Mira following close behind them. The bulking, blonde used a blast of lightning to break open the doors. Inside, many men sat around, looking at the mages that had suddenly burst inside.
Laxus looked toward Midnight and Sting, ordering them with an authoritarian voice, "Midnight! Sting! Go find Lucy, Yukino, and Sorano!"
The two men nodded before they raced toward a nearby door, Sting in front as he sniffed for any familiar scent. Midnight tuned out the sounds of fighting behind him. He had to find the three missing mages.
As they walked down the resulting corridor, the two men came to a staircase. Midnight looked at Sting and asked, "do you have their scents?"
Sting nodded, muttering, "I have Yukino's, Lucy's, and Sorano's. I also got another one, but I can't identify whose it is."
Midnight didn't waste any more time, descending the flight of stairs in a rush. He quickly noticed that Sting wasn't following him. He turned around to see that the blonde man hadn't moved from his spot. Midnight walked back up the steps before he came to a stop next to the dragon slayer. He saw that the other man was staring at something that only he seemed to be able to see. Sting's dark blue eyes were blown wide. He looked petrified, frozen to where he stood by a frightening sight that was revealed only to his eyes.
Midnight questioned, feeling annoyance rise from his gut, "what's wrong with you?" His brow was furrowed. He didn't have time to deal with this. The more time they spent standing in place was more time that Lucy, Yukino, and Sorano could be hurt even further than they already have been.
Sting muttered his response, his small voice shaky, "b-blood...I-I smell blood."
Midnight's red eyes widened. Panic, worry, and anger took over his body. His legs bounded down the steps, skipping several, and he pushed open the door that he came to at the bottom. He didn't know if Sting had broken out of his trance, and honestly, he didn't care. He had to find Lucy.
The two-tone-haired man came to a large, metal door. He pushed it open, not bothering to falter in his pace. Once inside the resulting room, he skidded to a stop. His heart was pounding in his chest and he could feel himself starting to sweat. The smell of blood hit him in waves with such force that it made his stomach turn. It was a strange thing. He was a former dark mage. He had witnessed terrible things and smelled blood before, so why was it affecting him in this way now?
Midnight walked down the wide corridor that was lined with cells, soon coming to the four cells in the middle. He looked into the one on his right, freezing in place when he saw what it contained.
A completely naked Sorano was laying on the ground. She was covered in cuts from a whip and deep burn marks. Her fingernails were all gone and her eyes seemed to have been gouged out of their sockets. It was a sickening sight that Midnight couldn't look at any longer.
He turned his gaze to the cell that was across from Sorano's. He clamped a hand over his mouth. He was just barely able to recognize the broken body of Queen Hisui. He hadn't known before that the queen had been captured. How long had she been here? Why wasn't anybody told about her disappearance? The sight of the green-haired woman was sickening, even for him. She was also laying on the stone floor, a large puddle of blood surrounding her mangled body. It appeared that she had also been whipped. Her entire left hand was gone, as was her right foot. Her hair was cut incredibly short. Half her face appeared to have been burned off.
Midnight looked down at the floor. He wanted to turn around and run out, but he couldn't. His body wouldn't allow him. Not until he found Lucy.
He walked forward to stand between the other two cells, ignoring the sound of Sting's choked sob. The former dark mage looked into the cell on his left, the sight causing his stomach to turn even more. Sorano's sister was hanging from the ceiling, her arms above her as she was suspended by chains. She wasn't completely naked, but she might as well be. Her clothing was reduced to mere rags. Her body was more covered in burn marks than it was in cuts. Her left leg was bruised and almost twisted grotesquely, clearly broken to an extreme degree. Deep gashes were raked over her closed eyelids.
Midnight took a step back. He dreaded seeing what state Lucy was in. He pulled his hand away from his mouth and looked down at both of his hands. He could see that his entire body was shaking, but he couldn't feel himself shaking. It was a weird experience that he had never been through before. His mind turned to Lucy, imagining what she could be going through. Tears welled up in his eyes, threatening to spill over. He forced himself to hesitantly turn around and face the cell that he was standing with his back to. He didn't want to face Lucy's broken state, but he also wanted to see how bad her condition was. Maybe she wasn't in as bad of a state. Maybe she had a chance of being saved. The independent mage found that the fourth cell was empty, save for chains that hung from the ceiling and a large puddle of blood below them on the floor.
In a rush of panic, Midnight ran to the large, metal door that was on the other end of the dark, stone, cell-lined corridor. He pushed it open, leaving the grief-stricken Sting behind. It didn't take long of running down a hallway for Midnight to see two people race out of a room and disappear around a corner. He wanted to go after them, but he had to find Lucy first.
He quickly came to the door that the two people had exited and opened it, coming to an immediate stop when his red eyes fell on who he knew was Lucy. She was tied to a chair, her bloody and wound-covered body completely naked. She wasn't moving, but he was able to see the slight rise and fall of her bare chest. The blonde's head was pulled back, a drenched piece of cloth covering her face.
Midnight felt bile rise into his throat as a few tears rolled down his cheeks. He hated the sight, but couldn't look away. He swallowed down the bile that had risen and he managed to force himself to walk toward her. Not knowing what he should say, but also knowing that he had to let the blonde know that someone was there to save her, he called out to her, "Lucy! You're going to be okay!"
He forced himself to focus on undoing the restraints and pulled off the piece of cloth that was over her face. He gently picked up Lucy and made his way back to the others, trying to focus on getting her help rather than on her condition. He couldn't allow himself to break down, no matter how much his body wanted to.
Fate and Phantasms #101: Rama
Today on Fate and Phantasms, we’re making the number 1 member of the Arcade hatedom, Rama! If you’ve seen my previous Indian heroes you know this build is also going to get a bit funky, but by the end of it you’ll have a cool sword you can throw around, the ability to fight off demons, and a monkey army.
Check out Rama’s build breakdown below the cut, or his character sheet over here!
Next up: One Strike Man
Race and Background
We know we had a thing going with Arjuna and Karna being Genasi, but Vishnu’s more of a general god than a themed one, so we have to be basic and go Aasimar on this one. Specifically Scourge Aasimar, because you’re not edgy and can’t fly. We’re also using the new Tasha’s rules about races to swap some bonuses around, so you’re going to get +1 Constitution and +2 Intelligence instead of charisma. You also get some Darkvision, Celestial Resistance to necrotic and radiant damage, the Light cantrip, and Healing Hands to heal a creature as an action once per long rest. Trust me, you’ll need it for the early levels.
Like a lot of servants, you’re a Noble, gaining History and Persuasion proficiencies.
Ability Scores
This build pretty much uses every score, so we had to make some tough cuts. Make your Strength the highest score, you’re a saber, you should be good at sabing. Second is Wisdom, you were born wise, which is a pretty amazing feat. I’m not sure how the figured that out before you could talk, but it’s still cool. Third is your Charisma, your star-crossed love transcends the bonds of the universe and has literally saved your life on occasion. Your Dexterity isn’t as high as I’d like it-we need it for multiclassing, but we’ll get it bumped up in time. Also, I’m willing to be generous here and say you’re wearing medium armor, that’s kind of a breastplate. Your Intelligence is also lower than I’d like, but that’s also getting a boost from your racial bonuses, so I guess it’s fine. Unfortunately, that means we’re dumping Constitution. It’s not fun, but it’s also the only score we aren’t actively using. Don’t worry, we’ll get it up into at least neutral territory as soon as possible.
Class Levels
1. Fighter 1: Fighters are pretty cool, and starting out as one gives you proficiency in Strength and Constitution saves, as well as the Animal Handling and Perception skills. A monkey may be your mortal enemy, but you also command an army of them.
You get a fighting style, and Dueling will make your one handed attacks a bit stronger so you can keep a hand open for spells. You also get a Second Wind for another way to heal yourself as a bonus action.
2. Fighter 2: Second level fighters get an Action Surge, tacking an extra action onto one of your turns once per short rest. This level is pretty light, so I’ll also take a second to say that we’re using a Trident as your weapon in this build, for reasons that will become apparent in a couple levels. It’s unorthodox, but you’re used to making swords out of other weapons, so it shouldn’t be that big a deal.
3. Fighter 3: I’m not going to beat around the bush here, you’re an Eldritch Knight. That means you’re learning some Spells, most of which will be abjuration or evocation and all of which will use your Intelligence to cast. You also gain a Weapon Bond, preventing you from being disarmed while conscious, and you can summon your weapon as a bonus action from anywhere in the plane. You also get your Radiant Consumption, which deals radiant damage to all creatures in a radius around you, including you. You can also add radiant damage to one attack per turn. The transformation lasts up to a minute, and you can use it once per long rest.
But you’re probably interested in those spells, right? Message is just useful, Sword Burst and Shield will protect you until we can get that constitution mess sorted, Find Familiar will help you get your first monkey friend, and Burning Hands is also there.
4. Fighter 4: Use your first Ability Score Improvement to round up your Constitution and bring your Dexterity into multiclassing range. Also, now that we’ve got a way to get your weapon back, we’ll switch out our old fighting style for Thrown Weapon Fighting as a part of your Martial Versatility. This allows you to draw a throwing weapon as part of an attack, and you deal more damage when throwing them. Who needs artificers and their returning weapons when you’ve got this?
You also learn the Snare spell to get some less magical monkey friends.
5. Fighter 5: Your Extra Attack lets you make two attacks per action. We’ll be seeing this feature a lot, but it doesn’t stack from multiple classes.
6. Paladin 1: You’re kind of literally a god, so this is something of an inevitability. You get a Divine Sense to help you track down Ravana, and can Lay on Hands for yet another way to heal yourself or other party members.
7. Paladin 2: Paladins also get a fighting style, so grab Dueling again, for the same reasons we got it in the first place. You can also cast and prepare another set of Spells, using your Charisma to cast. If you’re sick of casting spells though, you can also use your spell slots for Divine Smites, adding extra radiant damage to a melee attack, and even more to fiends and the undead.
Some first level spells to look out for are Command for some of the same reason as Arjuna and Karna- if someone of sufficient power says something’s going to happen, it’s going to happen. You can also use Heroism to help your party even more and Divine Favor to give you a bit of a smite even on thrown attacks.
8. Paladin 3: Your defining trait is your endless search for your wife, so the Devotion oath is a pretty solid pick. You get some Oath Spells about beating up demons that are always prepared for you, as well as two ways to Channel Divinity. Sacred Weapon adds your charisma modifier to attack rolls with a weapon, and turns the weapon magical for the duration. This also ends if you stop holding the weapon, so again, it doesn’t fit with throwing it around. You can also Turn the Unholy, forcing Fiends and Undead that fail a wisdom saving throw to run away until it takes damage.
We’re already eight levels in, but we have like one monkey! That’s not an army! That’s unacceptable, someone should do something about that.
9. Ranger 1: If we want animal sidekicks, Ranger’s the best option. At first level you get a skill proficiency, so grab Stealth so you can sneak up on your arch-monkey-enemies. You also have a Favored Foe, marking a creature upon attacking it for up to a minute with concentration. Then, once per turn you deal an extra 1d4 damage to that enemy. You can mark enemies this way a number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus. You’re also a Deft Explorer, doubling your proficiency in Animal Handling. You can literally talk to the little bastards, that’ll give you quite the edge.
10. Ranger 2: Being a second level ranger nets you a third fighting style; the Archery style gives your ranged attacks (including thrown weapons) a +2 to hit. You also get a third Spell list, which uses Wisdom to cast. Grab Longstrider and Zephyr Strike for ways to stay mobile and still deal damage.
11. Ranger 3: Be honest, you thought we were going beastmaster, didn’t you? Like we said earlier, one monkey does not an army make, and Swarmkeeper fairs much better with multiclassing anyway. You have a Primal Awareness letting you Speak with Animals either as a normal spell or once per long rest you can cast it for free. Swarmkeepers also get Swarmkeeper Magic, which is just an extended spell list. We’ll get into those with the regular spell you’re learning this level. Last but not least is the feature swarmkeepers are named for, the Gathered Swarm. You now have countless pygmy marmosets swarming over your body at all times. That’s a class feature, I am so sorry. It’s not all bad news though, because after hitting a creature with any attack, your swarm can deal extra damage, push the target 15′ in any direction if they fail a strength save, or move you 5′ in any direction. Save yourself a bonus action by throwing a weapon at an enemy, closing the gap with your swarm, then getting it back the old fashioned way!
You get Mage Hand as part of being a swarmkeeper, and it’s flavored as Literally Just a Monkey. You also learn Faerie Fire this way, and your normal spell this level is Animal Friendship. If they’re going to be crawling all over you, it’s best to stay on their good side.
12. Paladin 4: Now that we finally have your base kit set up, we can revisit some of your classes. Use this ASI to round up your Strength for stronger hits, and Charisma for more and better paladin spells. This is also a secret tool that will help us out in a little bit.
13. Paladin 5: The extra attack you get this level is a lie; it doesn’t stack with your fighter extra attack. The good news is you get second level spells this level as well, so it’s not a complete waste. You get Lesser Restoration and Zone of Truth as oath spells.
14. Paladin 6: Our last stop in the paladin class gives you an Aura of Protection, increasing all your saving throws (as well as any ally within 10 feet of you) by your charisma modifier.
15. Ranger 4: Since we don’t have to worry about your concentration saves anymore, we can just go for more health. Use this ASI to get the Tough feat, for an extra 2 HP per level.
16. Ranger 5: Once again, you get another useless extra attack, and once again you also get second level spells. You can Summon Beast to make a monkey that will be pretty scary when you get a fourth level spell slot at 17th level. You can also make Webs, or use Beast Sense once a day for free. Don’t ask what the webs are made out of.
17. Ranger 6: Your Favored Foe damage ramps up to 1d6, and you’re now Roving, meaning your movement speed increases, and you gain a climbing and swimming speed. Monkeys are pretty agile, you need to be able to keep up with them.
18. Fighter 6: We’re ending this build where we began, with the fighter class. Use this ASI for even more Charisma for better saves, more spells, and a more winning smile.
19. Fighter 7: Seventh level eldritch knights know War Magic, meaning that if you use a cantrip as your main action, you can still attack as a bonus action. I’m not sure why you’d message someone in the middle of battle, but here you go.
You also get second level spells, for the third time. Any evocation or abjuration spell is good here, but I chose Gust of Wind because it’s hard to throw weapons around if enemies are getting close to you.
20. Your capstone feature is another ASI, so grab the Piercer feat to round up your Dexterity and make your sword just a little more deadly. Once per turn, you can reroll a piercing damage die, and your critical hits deal a little more piercing damage.
Pros:
Despite your patchwork class levels, one thing that really shines through is your support abilities. Your Aura of Protection offers a solid +3 to all saves within 10′ of you, and you have multiple ways to heal other party members in a pinch.
You can also deal pretty dependable damage, thanks to your multitude of fighting styles mixing together to overcome your low ability scores. Despite having a strength of 16, you can aim your throws like you have a 20, and deal damage like you have a 24. You also have plenty of ways to incrementally add damage to each attack. Adding Favored Foe, smites, and your swarm damage to your attack racks up damage quickly.
You’ve got solid movement options, both for yourself and enemies. Being able to shove enemies around and into hazards with your swarm is a huge game changer.
Cons:
Eldritch Knights use their bonus action to resummon their weapon. Rangers use it to apply Favored Foe. Paladins use it for smites. Basically what I’m saying is your bonus action is super crowded, and it’s nearly impossible for you to go a round in combat without either holding back or making a tough decision about what to use it on.
If you couldn’t tell from the introduction, you depend on a ton of ability scores, to the point that constitution was the safest thing to dump early on. Even now, most of your spells aren’t particularly strong.
A lot of this build was about making a throwing weapon powerful, and thrown weapons don’t gel with paladins at all. It breaks your Channel Divinity and can’t be used with smites, limiting your power.
I -
I can't stop thinking about it -
About what, you ask?
An Obey Me! and Fate/Grand Order crossover
(Warning: Long post ahead!)
Either the bois get summoned to Chaldea or they're able to summon Servants themselves
(...I'm leaning towards the first)
The tomfoolery! The shenanigans!
Imagine: Humanity's Last Master (aka you) ends up summoning them as they trek through Rome with Mash and the Servants they already summoned
They set up the summoning circle, but one minor mistake is made and the summoning glow looks a bit darker than usual and BOOM
"S-...Senpai...is this normal?"
You have no idea what's normal or not, I mean you're time travelling to save your people for fucks sake -
"Servant of the Rider Class. My True Name is Lucifer. Do not expect me to cater to your every whim."
...Wait he's a what now??
They were not supposed to have this whole "Class" thing designated to them (it's not how demonic summoning works he swears), and yet they do for some reason
(You can tell I had fun thinking of their Classes)
The introductions are...cold, to say the least
"Saber Class Servant, and none other than The Great Mammon, Avatar of Greed! I got better things to be doing, so don't go calling me whenever ya want, got it?!"
"Lancer Class...Leviathan. I have an mmorpg raid coming up, so I can't stick around."
"Berserker Class. My name is Satan. What? Are you surprised that I seem calm for a Berserker? It's quite alright; I get that reaction often enough. A word of advice: Be careful what you wish for."
"My name is Asmodeus, but you can call me Asmo darling! I'm a Caster, which is good. I can't mess up the work done on my nails and hair!"
"Hm...Oh? Sorry, I was thinking about lunch. Servant Class: Ruler. I'm Beelzebub, but most people call me Beel. Do you have any snacks on you?"
"Servant Class: Avenger. My name is Belphegor, but I doubt you'll be alive long enough to remember that. I won't do your dirty work for you, human."
You are just...done at that point. You are literally carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders and their attitudes are not helping
"Yeah, yeah, here's the gist: there's a war going on and we're trying to save the planet. The future's been incinerated, and it's our job to fix what went wrong. I don't have time for your uncooperation; get on board."
(Mash is worried for your mental health)
It takes some time, but they do manage to open up to you
The main catalyst for this is when they heard you talking to Robin Hood, who was summoned in France
"Say, Master...I gotta ask: Why are you doing this?"
You pause what you're doing, shooting him an incredulous look. "You mean saving the world?" You ask in return.
He shrugs, tilting his head forward in a slight nod. "Yeah. There's other people who could do this, aren't there?"
"There isn't." The brothers hear you say firmly. Beel almost went in because he wanted a snack, but the others held him back; the conversation had peaked their interest, and they wanted to hear what you had to say.
"Robin..." Your voice comes out strained, as if you were barely holding yourself together. "I watched innocent people die in front of me. Good people. The world outside is gone. I can't even go see my family, because they're dead. I'm not expecting you to understand, but it hurts so bad that somedays I don't feel like getting up. If I die, it's all over; humanity's done. I'll never be able to see my family's smiles again, I'll never be able to hear their laughter; I'll...I'll never be able to go back home.
"So, instead of asking why I'm doing this, you should be asking "How far are you willing to go?" instead."
Robin is silent for a while. Mammon shifts on his feet. The Green Archer finally speaks, somber but curious tone filling the air. "And? What's the verdict, Master?"
Your voice has a tone of finality to it that shoots them back to the past, back towards the Celestial War. It's final, but it's tired. "Whatever it takes."
(And, so, the brothers come to understand and even sympathize with your situation a little bit. You had to fight for the sake of others without rest, you were a leader, you were a savior, but most of all...you were alone. And something about that didn't sit right with them.)
They would fit in perfectly with Chaldea's dynamics, actually
Mammon has a gold sword he lovingly calls Goldie (yes it changes into his beloved credit card)
His Noble Phantasm is literally him raising his sword and mountains of Grimm burying his opponents from the sky as he cackles out:
"Don't worry, I'll take all that money off ya hands!"
Or, in a proud declaration:
"My sword is my love, and my love is my sin. I'll take all that you have on ya! STULTUS IN AVARITA!!"
(Translates (from Google) to "Greed of the Fool")
(It also gives you an increased drop rate in materials)
Leviathan's weapon is his trident
He's surprised that he wasn't summoned as a Rider, once he got used to the "Class" thing (which was fairly quick, he's seen an anime like this before). I mean, he has a giant snake named Henry 1.0 and Lothan that he would've loved to fight side by side with
He usually doesn't fight, but he proves to be invaluable in Okeanos since he has knowledge on war strategies at sea
His Noble Phantasm is a bit strange, but endearing (sad). He rushes forward with his trident glowing, saying either:
"I can't get the latest Ruri-chan merch because you blew up the world...I won't forgive you. I can't forgive you!"
Or, in a somber tone:
"Even though it's fun, a gamer's life becomes stifling if you keep playing by yourself. I hope you're watching, (Y/N)! EX SOLA INVIDIA!!"
(Translates (from Google) to "Envy of the Lonely")
(Chance of Death increases with Overcharge, and it hits a single enemy)
Satan? Even though he's a Berserker, he behaves more like a Caster (initially)
He's holding a book that shoots out beams of pure energy at his opponents
His Noble Phantasm is...more violent
"Ah, so you've decided to call upon my Noble Phantasm...don't blame me if it's too much for you."
Or, he begins in a deathly calm voice:
"I am me; that's all I need to be. I know this, so why...? Why does this happen? TELL ME! "
He discards his books altogether, grabbing a single enemy with his bare hands and ripping them to shreds.
Asmo’s skill is charming his enemy, which confuses most people since you’d think it’d be his Noble Phantasm
Instead, it boosts his allies’ attacks and NP by 30%
“Don’t get too hurt out there~!”
Beel’s Noble Phantasm heals all allies and increases their attack
“We can’t fight on an empty stomach.”
(Once he hits his last Ascension, your party gets the added bonus of him attacking a single enemy with a lance. All other Ascensions has him using his fists for attacks.)
Belphie’s Noble Phantasm is almost as violent as Satan’s, and yes...he chokes out a single enemy out (rip MC)
“HA! You think I’d work with the likes of you, a lowly human? Get out of my sight.”
It’s Instant Death, unless Evasion or Invincibility is activated
Lucifer’s pride is a bit wounded. He’s a Rider, of all things??
(...He eventually gets used to it though)
His Noble Phantasm is him literally mounting Cerberus and raising his spear towards the heavens, looking as radiant as the days before the Fall
“It seems drastic times call for drastic measures. Cerberus, I trust you to handle things here.”
And Cerberus runs forth, either chomping the enemy in two or breathing fire at them and turning them into ash. (It hits everyone)
Satan and Jekyll hang out a lot because, well...they’re a lot alike
Mammon can and will do stupid shit with the Cu Squad and you cannot change my mind
One time he teamed up with Cascu to steal the other Cu’s spears (Mammon wanted to sell them on Akuzon), and well...half of Chaldea is still in repair to this day
Merlin of all Servants is the one to look after Belphie and Beel
They usually hang out in the garden Robin tends to, Asterios occasionally joining them while bringing both food and Euryale
Asmo frequently visits Medea, dragging Medusa into their group
(Dantes grows fond of Beel overtime, I mean Beel is just so pure there’s no way you couldn’t like him)
Lucifer and EMIYA butt heads at first, but they end up becoming friends despite that
Lucifer admires EMIYA’s skill to keep up with Servants who have a black hole for a stomach, and EMIYA admires Lucifer’s skill to round up his brothers effortlessly when the need to arises (or so he thinks, because he does not know about the Hate Lucifer Club which is run by Satan and Belphie).
Levi and Fran have a pure kind of friendship that must be protected at all costs
He shows her new animes and games, and even though she’s confused most of the time she never fails to listen to his ramblings, nodding whenit was appropriate
BONUS: Undateables (+ Luke)!
Solomon’s situation is...peculiar.
He’s not a Servant, but he behaves like one??
(He’s actually a mage that helps you on your journey to save humanity)
Unlike Da Vinci, he’s able to accompany you to the Singularities (free of charge, too!)
Once he sees the other Solomon, all he says is “I see...interesting.”
(Ngl he probably figured out everything by the time you all went to Okeanos)
Asmo also drags him into his group (consisting of Medea and Medusa), offering to paint his nails as they talk about anything and everything
Simeon is a Lancer and you can’t change my mind
He’s more of a buffer for your team, like Asmo. His skills are primarily healing, and his NP saps the health of an opponent while healing someone other than himself with that health (he cannot heal himself)
He gets along great with Karna!! The two are so nice and kind that it hurts to look at them both for too long
Solomon tells him about the gossip Asmo has on the other Servants. He always listens with an amused look on his face.
Luke is a smol Caster, but he will not hesitate to break your kneecaps
He, too, is a buffer for your team
“I’ll defend you from those demons, (Y/N)!”
His Noble Phantasm heals all allies, restoring their health by 20%
He bakes with Fsn Cu at night, having Proto Cu and Robin Hood try out his sweets. Beel is there 10/10 times, eating any failures or rejects
Diavolo is Ruler Class because he is literally the Ruler of Hell
Surprisingly (to you, at first), he’s the one who always asks to accompany you. He’s very open and considerate, wanting to help wherever and whenever he can
“The Human Realm is essential if we are to establish harmony between the three Realms. Without it there...angels and demons would fight each other for eternity.”
He tells you about his ideas for an exchange program and you offer him input
His Noble Phantasm is applying Invincibility to two allies for 3 turns after dealing heavy damage to a single enemy (cannot apply Invincibility to himself)
He likes to talk with Caster Gil and Archer Gil about their past, going to Ko Gil on occasion. He helps look after the child Servants, and he can often be found reading bedtime stories to them
(Everyone was scared of him at first once they found out who he was, so he usually held off revealing his True Identity)
Barbatos, at first glance, seems like an Archer...but in reality is an Assassin
(HE CONTROLS TIME FOR F*S SAKE)
His Noble Phantasm, depending on the enemy selected, can revive a fallen ally and add them to the Sub Team
(This is only if the enemy that killed the ally is selected)
This stuns him for 3 turns no matter what
He likes to chat with the Tamamo that helps EMIYA in the kitchen. How the two are communicating without issues is up to anyone’s guess
Ruination Rewrite: Character List
Sentinels
Vayne
Having devoted her life to fighting back monsters that prowl in the dark, Vayne joined the Sentinels to aid in their struggle against Viego and his ceaseless tide of the undead. Her years of experience and hatred for monsters of any kind makes her a perfect fit for the order, though her cold and ruthless personality sometimes puts Vayne at odds with some of the team's more unscrupulous members.
Olaf
In his relentless pursuit of a worthy death, Olaf joined the Sentinels hoping that the Harrowing will conjure a foe capable of slaying him at last. Having lost an eye to the corrupted Barbarian King Tryndamere, Olaf charges headlong into the swarm of wraiths spreading across Runeterra with his newly-forged Relic axes, hoping to solidify his legend in a world on the brink of Ruination.
Riven
After narrowly escaping Draven's arena with the aid of the Sentinels, Riven found herself lost and seeking purpose. A wanted fugitive in Noxus and unable to return to Ionia, Riven was prepared to wander alone in search of a new home until she was unexpectedly invited to join the Sentinels of Light. Now, she wields a new blade for a new cause: to drive back the Ruined King's forces in the hopes that doing so will at last bring her the redemption she seeks for her past.
Shen
When the Black Mist came to Ionia, the Eye of Twilight felt the scales of balance tip in favor of darkness. Seeking to rectify this imbalance, Shen confronted Viego on the beaches of his homeland, only to be overwhelmed by the Ruined King's power. Narrowly saved by the Sentinels' intervention, Shen agreed to an alliance between their orders, taking up a Relicstone sword in place of his Ionian steel saber to better combat the forces of the undead.
Diana
After a near-death confrontation with Ruined Pantheon, Diana found her connection to the Celestial realm shaken by a blow from the war god's spear. As the Aspect of the Moon recovers, Diana must take up Sentinel armaments to combat the growing tide of Black Mist if she is to ensure that her people, the Lunari, live to see another moonrise.
Jayce
The self-proclaimed "Hero of Piltover," Jayce joined the Sentinels in a bid to save his city from Ruination. Combining Sentinel craftsmanship with Piltover engineering, Jayce has upgraded his beloved Mercury Hammer with Relicstone to better combat the undead. Unbeknownst to his allies, though, Jayce wishes not only to save Piltover, but also the one man he ever called a friend...
Graves
A lawless scoundrel from Bilgewater, Graves joined the Sentinels for one reason and one reason only: to find his missing partner. After Twisted Fate's mysterious disappearance at the start of the Harrowing, Graves deduced that the Black Mist must be behind the card mage's sudden disappearance and that fighting Viego may reveal Fate’s whereabouts. Though Graves’ attitude and complete disregard for Sentinel code grates on his allies, he more than makes up for it when blasting through hordes of undead with his custom-made Destiny III.
Rengar
Once the apex predator of the Kumungu Jungles, Rengar finds himself now relentlessly hunted through his own territory by the ghosts of his former prey. Seeking to drive out the Black Mist and restore his place at the top of the food chain, Rengar joins the Sentinels to hunt down the one responsible for its invasion: Viego, the Ruined King himself.
Ruined
Shyvana
Years of prejudice and discrimination in Demacia have stirred bitterness and contempt in Shyvana's soul. Though once able to find comfort in those few she called friends, the Black Mist has fueled Shyvana’s resentment for the world that so often tries to condemn her. Now, she embraces the monster that so many believe her to be, unleashing her burning fury on anyone who draws breath.
Tryndamere
When the Black Mist took hold on Tryndamere's soul, it unleashed the fury that he has spent years tempering as king of the Avarosa. Now driven to a near-constant state of Berserker rage, Tryndamere is more beast than man, rampaging endlessly and cutting down anyone or anything that dares to get in his way. Even Viego struggles to truly control the Ruined Barbarian King, instead turning Tryndamere on his enemies and letting the beast run wild.
Draven
Little changed when the Black Mist took hold on Draven's soul. In fact, Ruination has only stoked the executioner's ego even further. No longer content to be the best in Noxus, Draven seeks the eternal praises of all Runeterra: an undying global audience which can cheer his name for all time, even if he has to perform for the Ruined King himself.
Lillia
Once a peaceful and timid spirit devoted to safeguarding dreams, Lillia has now devoted herself to protecting one dream in-particular: that of the Ruined King. Lillia now believes that only the beauty and purity of Viego's twisted love can save her Mother Tree and restore peaceful dreams to the world forevermore.
Pantheon
Through the necromantic powers of the Black Mist, the fallen god Pantheon has returned. Seeking retribution for his demise at the hands of the Darkin Aatrox, Pantheon readies himself to wage war on the living world and bring Ruination to all Runeterra. Before he can see his ambition to fruition, however, Pantheon must first win the war within himself for control over Atreus's body, who remains stubbornly defiant...
Viktor
Seeing a new path toward advancement, Viktor has embraced Ruination as the next logical step in human evolution. Able to transform fragile flesh and remove unnecessary emotion, the Black Mist is all that Viktor desires and more. With it, he can upgrade not just humanity, but Runeterra itself...
Gangplank
Desperate to take back his throne as the pirate lord of Bilgewater, Gangplank turned to Viego in a bid for power. Through the Black Mist, Gangplank has not only resurrected his old crew and ship, but finally acquired the strength to challenge Sarah Fortune's reign over the city of Bilgewater.
Other
Rookie
A young Sentinel recruit with next to no combat experience or training. Despite this, Rookie was still chosen by the Wayfinder, a unique Relic capable of allowing instantaneous travel between Sentinel outposts and a means of instantly traveling to the organization’s headquarters. Though Rookie is oft considered the weakest member of the group, they possess a knack for words and inspiring others in dire situations.
Unbound Thresh
With the aid of Mordekaiser’s magic, Thresh has at last freed himself from the confines of the Black Mist. With this new freedom comes the ability to transform himself, taking on a guise similar to the flesh and blood he once possessed in life without any of the limitations. Thresh now wanders the world unfettered, gathering souls for his collection while aiding in Mordekaiser's conquest.
-----
When the Ruination came and transformed the Blessed Isles into the now-infamous Shadow Isles, Thresh embraced the change wholeheartedly. For years he delighted in tormenting the living and the dead alike by trapping them in his lantern, but it eventually became apparent to Thresh that he, himself, was a prisoner.
Bound to the Black Mist and unable to leave the Shadow Isles for much longer than the span of a Harrowing, Thresh realized that this existence wasn’t so different from the years he spent isolated in the darkness of the vaults of Helia. Eventually, he began seeking a means of escaping the Mist, even if it meant dethroning the Ruined King himself.Eventually, Thresh’s search brought him back to the Vaults of Helia, where he perused the forbidden artifacts once placed under his care in the hopes that one might contain the key to his freedom.
After searching tirelessly through the many forsaken relics locked away by his order, Thresh came upon one that thrummed with an eerily familiar power: the skull of an ancient tyrant said to have once conquered death itself. As Thresh grasped the skull, a voice spoke out to him in an ancient tongue the warden did not recognize, but somehow understood. It promised him freedom and power in exchange for one thing: to help restore the warlord’s spirit to the land of the living.
It was then that an unholy pact was formed, and Thresh soon learned the name of the ancient spirit in question: Mordekaiser. For years, Mordekaiser and Thresh cooperated in secret, working together to undermine Viego’s search for the fetters of his queen, Isolde.
When the Ruined King was foiled by the Sentinels of Light, Thresh and Mordekaiser seized their opportunity. Now, as the lords of undeath contest each other control of the Shadow Isles, Thresh ventures to Noxus to aid in infiltrating the Immortal Bastion... While relishing in the new powers granted to him by his patron along the way.
Holy Grail Wars: Fairy Tail Edition
This year, I've been watching through the Fate franchise and had this post idea. (I'm sorry if you wanted a deeper explanation for this post.)
Here are the assumptions I'm making in this universe. Seven Fairy Tail characters are chosen as masters of servants in the seven main classes. Servants keep their powers from the main series and are generally stronger. Masters are generally weaker forms of their canon iterations. Remember, Fate masters are also capable of magic. I'm not doing stats, but I am doing Noble Phantasms.
Before we start, I feel it necessary to recognize an important part of this war: the overseers. Naturally, the Zentopia Church will be responsible for overseeing the battle and providing shelter for losers. While their inclusion in the anime is potentially contentious, Kardia Cathedral is a part of the canon universe. It feels fair to use them for this purpose. For the sake of "I can't think of anyone else who could do this", I'll be considering Byro as the chief overseer. No, he will not be a master in this set.
Assassin Class: Erigor Noble Phantasm: Grim Reaper Master: Zoldeo
For my most obvious choice in this exercise, I chose Erigor as an Assassin-class servant. I hope the idea isn't terribly controversial. I envision his Noble Phantasm being his signature scythe. Given that I don't know its name, I've decided that it will share his Neo Oracion Seis nickname. As for his master, I figure that Zoldeo would most appreciate a servant that is as ready to kill as he is. Keep them away from kids (along with another certain servant) and things... I was going to say they'd be fine, but...
Rider Class: Natsu Dragneel Noble Phantasm: Blaze Dragon Mode Master: Romeo Conbolt
Yes, I know Natsu is notoriously motion sick. However, thanks to his partnership with Happy, he counts as a member of this class. So, yes, my favorite character ends up in my favorite servant class. I almost used Dragon Force as his Noble Phantasm. I feel that Blaze Dragon Mode fits more for him as a unique ability. And considering it's Natsu, Romeo is the only logical pick for a master. Hold on, Rider class master growing because of their servant? How good a teacher is Romeo?
Caster Class: Irene Belserion Noble Phantasm: Dragon Seed Master: Wendy Marvell
A decent argument could be made that almost any character in this series could be a Caster class hero. Though for my purposes, I wanted to pick between the master enchantresses. I went with Irene because of her current relationship with Wendy in the sequel. Similar to the Rider duo, this could potentially help Wendy's personal growth. Although, Wendy's growth may be more as a mage than as a person. Not to mention, she's also my pick for the vessel for the Greater Grail. My sincere condolonces.
Archer Class: Lucy Heartfilia Noble Phantasm: Sagittarius Dress Form Master: Makarov Dreyar
I mean... The Archer class is made up of archers. And, thanks to the Sagittarius Dress, Lucy technically is an archer. I just feel like there are not many good picks for this class within Fairy Tail. (Can using guns count as archery?) Naturally, she'd only get the one ability as opposed to her canon ten and change. While I could probably pick someone younger to be her master, I figure she would best be served by her canon guild master. Or is that the other way around?
Lancer Class: Erza Knightwalker Noble Phantasm: Ten Commandments Master: Mystogan
I almost forgot that this was a possible option for this class. There are not many other people in this universe who are known for fighting with lances. I almost picked Mystogan, just because of his use of various magic sticks. However, I picked them to work together as master and servant in this battle. Here's hoping Knightwalker has better luck as a member of her snake-bitten class. Though, consider the only character she couldn't beat in Fairy Tail was Erza, so...
Berserker Class: Mirajane Strauss Noble Phantasm: Satan Soul Master: Seilah
Yes, I did think to switch these two. Why do you ask? I went with this as the choice for two reasons. One, Mira has actually gone berserk in battle, which is an important part of this class. Two, I need more villains as servants. This might be the pairing I'd pay the most money to see realized. You have to imagine that we'd get more of old Mira as a servant. Or maybe a cross between past and present.
Saber Class: Kagura Mikazuchi Noble Phantasm: Archenemy Master: Risley Law
I had a tough time choosing between Kagura and Ikaruga for this class. If you're asking who the latter is, you might understand why I went with Kagura. She gets the added benefit of her seldom-used gravity magic in addition to her famous unsheathed sword as a Noble Phantasm. I was tempted to put Millianna as her master. But, I decided that Risley was the more competent mage with a connection to Kagura.
"Wait a minute. Aren't you forgetting someone?"
While I've included Erza Knightwalker, the Sippy Cup of Sin will not be summoning Erza Scarlet as a servant for this set of skirmishes.
My reasoning is simple. Erza's particularly difficult to place as a servant. Most people I've seen try this put her as a Saber. However, she's used enough different sets of armor, weapons, and fight experience that she could reasonably belong in any class.
That being said, I feel like it wouldn't be fun to leave it at that. And, I mean, there was an eighth servant in the main Fate routes.
So...
I guess I could talk about her as a servant that managed to win a previous battle and lived on.
What armor would Erza use if she was a servant?
Archer Class: Heaven's Wheel
Unlike the servant choice, this was an easy choice. Pick the one that allows her to control weapons at will. Thanks to HERO'S we know she has bows. However, I want her to keep the spirit of weapons that can fly towards enemies at her command.
Berserker Class: Nakagami Armor
Now, I can't say for sure that Erza's gone berserk in this armor. However, she's definitely gone berserk at times in fights. And this was the armor she used against Minerva. She may have contemplated killing her during their fight.
Lancer Class: Lightning Empress Armor
What does it say that both Erza's could be Lancers? There aren't that many sets of armor I could use for this. This might be the most well-known version of this armor she could use. Here’s hoping they don’t end up fighting each other.
Caster Class: Celestial Armor
The annoying thing about Fairy Tail is that "caster magic" means something different in Fate. I had to pick between a couple of different armor sets. I figured I should go with the armor she used in Dragon Cry to cast Grand Chariot.
Saber Class: Clear Heart Armor
Listen, I'm probably in trouble for making this kind of distinction with Erza in the first place. I get that swords are Erza's thing and there might be plenty of other classes I could use. But I'd be an idiot to use literally any other
Assassin Class: Purgatory Armor
Let me put it this way. Erza herself says that no one has seen this armor and lived to talk about it. It doesn't matter that Ikaruga turned it to scrap. Did she end up living at the end of the battle? I rest my case.
Rider Class: Ataraxia Armor
Fun fact: this was the armor Erza used during the Avatar fight. She puts it on after jumping off her horse. You could argue that Blackwing is better because she's able to fly using it. However, being a Rider is about having a steed.
I eagerly await being told I'm wrong about these decisions.
Background/History
Lucia was born in Ariccia, Italy to Bianca and Simon, she is the second oldest. She spent much of her life in Italy until three of her grandparents were killed by death eaters and then her family moved to Britain hence her heavy accent
Lucia’s father taught her everything she knows about fighting which led to her physique and fueled her laser focused aim of protecting her family which is why she was so distraught when Cirilo went missing. For months she was basically inconsolable
This changed when Lucia realized she can try get Cirilo back by learning everything he did in his investigations of the cursed vaults when she starts Hogwarts.
In her second year, she met Cassandra Cresswood when she decided to search the library on her own for information on the Vaults
She took Cassie to the Celestial Ball but much to Cassie’s disappointment as friends (Lucia didn’t want to jeopardize their friendship despite her having a crush on Cassie)
But later in the year, Cassie got fed up with Lucia and full out asked her out though they tried to keep it secretive
Year 5 was bittersweet for Lucia, on one hand she got her brother back and he decided to not abandon her but on the other hand Rakepick escaped after torturing Merula.
During her fifth year, Lucia also forged her magic gauntlets at The Tower of The Regal Sunset Sea which is also her family’s ancestral home. Her gauntlets increase her speed and strength
Time for a lot of canon divergence Lucia gave up on the cursed vault hunt, leaving it to Cirilo and everyone else but just in case she hired the Dark Sun Assassins, which is led by her extended family, to kill Rakepick just in case to calm her worries
In her sixth year, she very reluctantly came along with Ben and Merula to investigate rumours of an R meeting in the forbidden forest, this is where Rakepick tried to kill Ben and when Rowan tried to get in the way of Rakepick’s killing curse. Lucia pulled Rowan out of the way just in time and anger welled up inside her due to her remembering her helplessness when her grandparents died causing her to use the full power of her gauntlets ending up with Rakepick’s left arm being obliterated.
After this is when she got her tattoo, it represents Cassie
It is also in her sixth year that her relationship with Cassie is found out by the school when they are caught kissing before a quidditch match
In the final battle of the cursed Vaults when all of R tried to get the treasure of the final battle, Lucia joined in the battle and was the one who ended up killing Rakepick
After she graduates, she briefly becomes a wand maker and magizoologist before finally becoming a baker with Cassie
Three years after she graduates, she and Cassie get married
Four years after she graduates, she has her first kids, Alissa and Selene though they are carried by Cassie
When Voldemort returned she was openly defiant of him and joined the Order of the Phoenix. She also sheltered Muggleborns where she could and commonly was found dueling Death Eaters sent after her and her family alongside Cassie
She had Aurea a year before the battle of Hogwarts, this time she was the one who was pregnant
She was absent from the Battle of Hogwarts as she stayed behind to protect her family from any would be attackers while Cassie went to fight in the battle which she survived much to Lucia’s relief and the two were able to live their lives in peace
Personality
Lucia most of the time is very happy, always smiling in some way but this hides her extremely protective side for her loved ones and the anger that follows when her loved ones are hurt. She will never give up on anyone and will always do her best to help them.
However if anyone she cares about is hurt and she can’t get revenge either because the perpetrator is gone or whoever or whatever did it did so out of fear, she will be very distraught and blame herself even if she quite literally couldn’t have done anything and will shut herself away for days but if the perpetrator is not gone then she will be merciless and will kill them if they hurt her loved ones badly enough(Before Year 5, she would not readily kill).
She for the most part cannot handle people who are seemingly grumpy all the time and will intentionally avoid people like that.
She is very empathetic and tries to do her best to help her friends out when they are in bad places but she fails to take the same advice and apply it to herself and will fall into dark places easily if the signs aren’t noticed quick enough.
Misc
She is very resistant to sleeping potions and charms to such an extent that by the time she’s in year 7 she is basically immune and requires extremely potent versions used on her for it to take proper effect
All her scars came from a magical accident when a spell she was trying to create backfired injuring her and Cassie
She is very proud of her heritage and will fight people if they insult it in her presence
She has Norse ancestors on her father’s side of the family though most of the traditions and practices from them have been lost in time
She is fluent in Italian, English and Scottish Gaelic, the latter of which she learned from Cassie
She for most of her life had a huge fear of heights which came from her fall, she overcame it with the help of her friends when she decided to watch Cassie’s quidditch matches
She is very physically affectionate and will hug all her friends without a thought and will always make it known that she cares about them
When she first started Hogwarts her italian accent was very strong but over time it began to fade and once she graduates and moves in with Cassie, she starts unwittingly adopting a slight scottish accent which is tinged with her remaining italian accent
She is a very good singer, she taught herself and was naturally good from the onset. She knows many italian songs and lullabies
She is a black belt in Karate and despite her much less chaotic life after Hogwarts and the Second Wizarding War she maintains her strong AF physique
The scarf she wears was made by her late grandmother and she is rarely seen without it unless she is dueling seriously
She is named after her strongest ancestor Lucia Altera, a name which she lives up to.
She is capable of casting two of the unforgivable curses except for the killing curse
The names of her five daughters are; Alissa Dawn, Selene Abigail, Aurea Amara, Roxanna Amber, Rebecca Ciana and Hannah Chiara Firahel
CANON DIVERGENCE ON THIS BLOG:
Regarding her exile from Sabertooth, please do not refer to it as a perverted thing, when she was told to strip. Jiemma doing this is a form of humiliation. We have seen that he uses this tactic to remind people very severely of their mistakes, as he did to Minerva in her youth. It was an act of harsh conditioning. Nothing more. This served to ensure Yukino would never make that mistake in the future, and by exiling her, he essentially told her: but you will never make a joke out of my guild again.
Yukino stayed in the Royal Guard following her exile for 14 months. She did not immediately return to Sabertooth, even though Jiemma was no longer the guild master. She was still hurt; not because no one stuck up for her ( she did not expect anyone to, and she would have stayed out of it herself had it been another ), but because no one bothered to reach out to her. The only people who comforted her were Natsu & Lucy, who did not even know her prior to the games. They didn’t need to go out of their way, but they did. It served to give Yukino perspective.
She didn’t offer up her keys to Lucy. She’s emotionally attached to her Celestial Spirits. ( Yes, even Ophiuchus ).
Yukino did not attend the ball. She was on guard-duty. The scene with everyone fighting over her did not happen.
By extension, the Welcome Home Frosch bit did not happen in my canon. She wasn’t with Saber, and even if she were, Rogue would .... NEVER ?? Titty-grab anyone...?
Yukino was not there to welcome Minerva back post-Tartarus.
Yukino rejoins Sabertooth just a couple of months before the events of Twin Dragons of Sabertooth.
She is a bit reserved following her comeback, and although she’s friendly to everyone, she still hasn’t really let anyone in. She still has some unresolved issues with her guildmates that she keeps to herself. She prefers to not be confrontational.
The crucifix scene did not happen. It doesn’t exist. Sabertooth were growing exhausted from extended fights & being outnumbered. Fairy Tail mages arrived to help them, and together, they won that fight.
Rahkeid’s magic does not do to them what it does in canon... That orgasm shit? Nah. Maybe... it causes pain, or paralysis to anyone who has committed actual atrocious sins ( such as murder ). I don’t know. But I’m scrapping its canon effects.
“Ah! Well, I guess I can get use to that, lady- I mean, Yukino.” Hitori said quickly as he rubbed the back of his head. A bright smile planted on his face as he owned up to his mistake. “So, would you like to get a drink? I drink on occasions like this! Plus it helps ease my nerves.” The earth mage asked nicely as he nodded to Yukino.
“Excuse me, Lady Yukino?” A purple eyed man with brown hair bowed behind the celestial mage. “My name is Hitori. I’ve been part of this guild for a while, but I thought maybe would be the time to get to know you more.”
“Oh how nice of you” Yukino responded to the man “I don’t have any plans, so getting to know more people around the guild would be lovely” Yukino smiled “We can start with the fact you don’t have to call me ‘lady’ Yukino, Yukino is preferred” it was kinda strange to be called that, Yukino was not used to it at all; she felt the term would better suit Minerva
Starter Call for Emilia!
Fate Series Master OC Emilia is outspoken, determined, clever, and sometimes silly. She finds her magic embarrassing since she has to say conjures that make her sound like a magical girl. Emilia is tough and even willing to fight side by side with her Servant with her magic despite the dangers.
Emilia is from a family that has some mages, but none of them have participated in the Holy Grail Wars. They decided she would be the first to participate once she was sixteen. It sent her family in a feud, some saying that was much too young to join the Holy Wars, others saying she would be old enough to handle it. Her family is counting on her to summon a strong Servant like Saber and carry their wish on her shoulders, a wish to make their family famous with a name that will go down in history.
Emilia also has a Fairy Tail verse where she is a Celestial Mage wielding three Chinese Zodiac keys, Mouse, Monkey, and Tiger. Her personality is the same as her Fate verse.
Like or reblog (if side blog) to be tagged in a starter with her! =D
on fairy tail my thoughts on ships involving rogue thematically, the possibilities involving it and my own post involving rogue (thoughts on it
I feel rogue X minerva to sting X yukino fits given how they are the twin dragon slayers ( and yukino is a celestial spirit mage like lucy who is paired with natsu in canon and their is a bit of tease for sting X yukino in the twin dragon slayer side story and word celestial is associated with light (sting) or fire ( natsu) and her sister being named angel ) considering she became a demon (who are associated with darkness though you could use this to support rogue X mirajane and what are your thoughts on how hiro rather than just referencing one ship with laxus in the end referenced rumors involving him and mirajane and cana etc) ( temporarily while yukino is connected to angels through her sister) and the fact that her demon form had an eye mark which looked similar to future rogue cheney’s scar . and the development for future rogue cheney being cold hearted when he started off as kind while minerva went from cold hearted to being a good person. or you could suggest rogue X angel for the two brothers ( in all but blood) dating the two sisters
I have to be honest people call rogue the gajeel of the group ( which is what I thought at first so I paired him in ships that would parallel gajevy like suggesting freed whose magic is similar to levys since yukino and lucy have the same magic , or hisui c) but I would say he is the gray fullbuster of sabertooth
what are your thoughtts on this post
https://megashadowdragon.tumblr.com/post/183028899877/parallels-between-rogue-cheney-and-gray-fullbuster/embed
i can definitely see rogue as gajeel or gray’s counterpart, honestly.
that said, for me, rogue’s interest in girls is almost zero. the only girl i’ve ever shipped him with was yukino (aside from joke ships), and sting/yukino is one of my biggest notps.
the only people rogue has strong canon relationships with are the members of saber tooth and gajeel. he’s connected to lucy, gray, natsu, and future lucy via his own future self, but it’s pretty firmly established that they aren’t really the same person. different versions of the same person, sure, but not one and the same. since orga, rufus, and dobengal don’t interact much with rogue, it’s the rest of saber tooth, alongside gajeel, that we’d need to look at.
frosch and lector are cats. and also like five, so.... ew. he and minerva have interacted a couple times and appear to be on good terms, but there’s not nearly enough chemistry in my eyes. so... it’d have to be either Sting or Yukino, since he saw Gajeel as more of an obstacle than anything else.
lucy cannot make another contract with aquarius, due to her sacrifice and breaking of aqua’s key. while, yes, she is keeping an ear out for word of the golden key’s reappearance, it’s more so she can pass it along to yukino, as she trusts the saber mage to be a good mistress for her former spirit.
but the price she paid to summon the celestial spirit king, the price of aqua’s key, means that she cannot be that anymore.
#;;life appears to me too short to be spent in nursing animosity‚ or registering wrongs. (headcanon)#to let her remake that contract feels like it's cheapening lucy's sacrifice and i don't like it#and it's not like we don't have another celestial summoner in canon that is shown to care about her spirits#hashtag let yuki summon aqua
Chapter Twelve: I'm Fine!
Freed leaned against the bathroom's counter, his hands gripping the rim of the sink. Dressed in only a pair of pants and his long hair still wet, he stared into the mirror. However, he wasn't focusing on his appearence, but instead, he was listening as Lucy summoned her three new spirits to make contracts with them. Their voices were muffled due to the bathroom door being closed, but he was still able to hear them if he remained quiet. He listened as Loke took his leave, saying something that he hadn't been able to catch.
The green-haired man pushed off of the bathroom counter and pulled on a white shirt, buttoned it, and turned around to exit the bathroom. Upon stepping out, steam flowing from behind him, he found that Lucy was standing next to her bed, staring at where he assumed Loke had been.
Freed walked toward Lucy, coming to stand a few feet in front of her. Silence stretched between the pair until the rune mage spoke, "what happened?"
Lucy was silent, various emotions that Freed was unable to identify swam in her eyes. The blonde woman then responded, diverting her eyes to look past Freed, "what?"
Freed repeated, "what happened?" After a few moments, he clarified, "did Nyx do anything to you?"
Lucy looked at the bed that Freed and Rufus had slept in. It was telling to Freed that she wasn't looking at him. He watched as the celestial wizard shook her head, answering, "he and I just talked."
Freed furrowed his brow slightly. He had previously been unsure, but now he knew that something was wrong with Lucy. Worry rapidly built up in his gut. A desire to help and comfort her became strong. He took a few steps closer, questioning, "what's wrong?"
Lucy looked at him. She took a step back as she responded, sounding almost panicked, "what do you mean?"
"Something is wrong. I can tell. What is it?"
"I don't know what you're talking about. There is nothing wrong."
"You're lying."
"I'm fine, Freed!"
Right after Lucy had exclaimed her response, the hotel room's door opened, drawing the attention of the two Fairy Tail mages. Rufus walked in, sighing, "I couldn't find him. I searched all over the town. If he and the other two were staying in this town, then they left soon after Lucy's encounter with him." He was dressed similarly to Freed, a black shirt and a simple pair of pants. They had noticed that Lucy was missing almost immediately upon waking up and, in their rush to find her, had thrown on the first articles of clothing that they saw.
Lucy nodded, responding, "that's fine. We'll likely encounter them again sooner or later."
Freed turned his attention back to Lucy. He wanted to get the truth out of her, but not while Rufus was present. He heard Rufus walking forward to stand beside him. He turned his head to look at the blonde man, finding that he was subtly glaring at him. Freed turned away, walking past him to sit on their bed. He was confident that Rufus had feelings for Lucy, something that he didn't like. He had intentions to speak with the man in order to gain either confirmation or honest denial, though he was expecting to get comfirmation. He could tell by how the Saber would glare at him or treat him rather coldly that Rufus had the same suspicions about him.
The rune mage had no intention of allowing Rufus to win over Lucy. He had already made up his mind to woo her. But their conflict would have to wait. His first concern was Lucy’s well-being. He looked up at her and questioned again, this time with a more stern tone"what happened?"
Lucy looked at him. She crossed her arms over her chest as she spoke, "between me and Nyx?"
Rufus spoke up from where he stood between the foots of the two beds, "I'm curious as to what happened as well. Did he attack you? You don't appear to be injured."
Lucy sat down on her own bed with a sigh. Silence followed before she finally explained, "I had picked up the keys and was going to take them to the shopkeeper, but Nyx appeared behind me. I thought that he was going to attack me. He didn't, though. We had a short conversation in which he told me that he wasn't interested in the keys. He asked what the point was and then he walked away."
Freed stared at her in confusion. Looking over at Rufus, he found that the other man was staring at her with just as much confusion. He looked back at Lucy, questioning, "he didn't want the keys?"
Lucy shrugged, "I don't understand either."
Rufus then spoke, fingers cupping his chin, "it's definitely a confusing turn of events. Surely he would be committed to their cause and would want those keys."
Lucy shrugged again before Freed added, "and they don't seem to be anywhere too. That means they aren't planning to attack Lucy later."
Freed looked down at the floor, racking his mind for a possible explanation for this unexpected turn. As he silently questioned the event, his attention was brought back to Lucy when she suggested, "could he be changing his mind about their plan?"
Rufus inquired, "like a change of heart? I suppose that's possible, but I am having trouble believing it."
Freed spoke up, "the only way we can know for sure is if we manage to talk to him, separate from Terra and Lust." He looked over at Rufus and asked, "Rufus, are you sure that they aren't in town?"
Rufus responded, "I searched everywhere I could."
Freed was about to speak again when Lucy suddenly stood up and walked past Rufus to stand in the middle of the room. Freed stood as well, walking forward to stand next to the other man. They both watched as the celestial wizard requiped one of her silver keys into her hand. She pointed the blade of the key away from herself and called out, "Open! Gate of the Telescope: Telescopium!"
A young boy with brown hair and dressed in a white shirt and overalls appeared. He was sitting on a floating, blue and white carpet with a small telescope in his hands. The boy exclaimed when he saw his wizard, "Lucy! I'm so happy that you summoned me!" He floated closer to the blonde woman and wrapped his arms around her, giving her a tight hug that Lucy returned.
The corner of Freed's mouth twitched upward in a half smile. The boy was adorable, he would admit. He crossed his arms over his chest and watched the interaction between the celestial wizard and celestial spirit.
Lucy asked, "could you find someone for me?" Telescopium nodded his head vigorously, prompting his wizard to continue with her request, "I need you to try to find a man named Nyx."
The boy nodded before he floated to the large window on one side of the hotel room, opened it, and flew out of it, somehow not hitting any part of his body on the frame. As they waited for the spirit's return, Rufus spoke, "I suppose that he can track people?"
Lucy nodded, looking back at the open window. Not even a minute passed before Telescopium flew back into the hotel room. He was frowning as he shook his head, explaining, "I'm sorry, Lucy, I couldn't find him. The man you're looking for isn't in this town."
Lucy scratched the top of the boy's head, assuring him, "it's alright, Telescopium. Thank you." The spirit then disappeared in a flash of silver light.
Lucy then turned to her two partners, telling them with a serious tone, "nevermind Nyx's weird behavior. We need to get going to the next location before those three find it."
Freed and Rufus nodded in agreement, both watching as Lucy made her way into the bathroom. The two men then set about packing up their things for Virgo to take back to the Celestial Spirit World. The green-haired man made a mental note to talk to Rufus and Lucy individually the first chance he gets.
