Lucifer/Eve > Chloe/Pierce

I've seen people say that there are double standards between how people react to Lucifer/Eve vs Chloe/Pierce and I just wanna say something as someone who actually prefers Chloe as a character over Lucifer.

On paper, I didn't mind the Chloe/Pierce plot in S3 too much. Lucifer had been acting like a dick and kind of taking her for granted at the time so it was sort of satisfying to see him jealous and in pain over her for a little while. The problem though is how Chloe/Pierce were written. I didn’t understand why Chloe even liked him, let alone enough to accept a marriage proposal from him after they had only been dating for a short time. (Which was extremely ooc imo, and extra grating since we were barely granted Chloe POV throughout S3). I also don't really buy or understand when Pierce fell in love with Chloe outside of wanting the semblance of humanity that he saw Lucifer getting via his relationship with Chloe. I know Chloe ended up backing out of the engagement and that she later said the Lucifer was the reason she accepted the proposal in the first place AND the reason she backed out of it, but it was still very poorly executed imo.

Lucifer/Eve on the other hand, I understood. Lucifer was going through turmoil in S4 because of Chloe knowing about his true identity as the devil and being unable to accept it. Enter Eve, one of his past lovers who fully accepts his devil side, and you kind of understand why he would be tempted to move on from Chloe and be with her. There were obvious issues with Lucifer and Eve's relationship too ofc. While Eve accepted his devil side she seemed pretty reluctant to accept the human side he had developed since forming relationships in the mortal world, claiming that he was pretending to be someone he wasn't. And that's ultimately why their relationship wasn't going to work out in the long run. But I still understand why that relationship was appealing to Lucifer at the time.

Along with all that, even while Lucifer was with Eve, it was always pretty clear to me that he was still firmly in love with Chloe and was only with Eve because he thought he couldn't have Chloe. Whereas with Chloe/Pierce, there were a few times where I honestly questioned the writers' intentions with them.

Basically, Chloe/Pierce was poorly written and only created to cause contrived drama. Lucifer/Eve was better written and was clearly used as a narrative stepping stone to Deckerstar. (Also Eve, unlike Pierce, was actually very likable as a character. So there's that too lol).

since i'm rewatching stranger things waiting for s4 i'd like to state some things that aren't enough said:

- will is the cutest, sweetest, most empathic, kind, genuine, boi and i will die having will as my fav of the group

- jonathan is an awesome big brother and i want it all from his and will's dynamic. heck give me some stuff between him and el!

- joyce, el, the ultimest mom/daughter relationship since s1 and they better deliver on s4!!

- interesting parallel between steve and the wheeler dad with the chicken. to show that nancy has no emotional support from steve in their relationship and that a couple with steve (at that point of s2 at least) would equate to her "settling" like her mom did. hence probs why she breaks up with him.

- LONNIE EAT SHIT

- still don’t understand the hype around b*rb

- hi, less romantic-centered teams (mike/el, nancy/jonathan, hopp/joyce) and more family/friendship dynamics explored, pls. s1 was perfect on that!

- give dustin back to his friends. like ok his duo with steve is awesome but the 4 og boys deserve more scenes together

- bob is the superior character, his dynamic with the whole byers family is so cute, and i wish jonathan and bob had bonded more

- lucas is super smart tbh, we don't talk enough about that!

- b*lly is an abusive fck and a jerk. no amount of sad story excuses the things he does on s2.

- i WILL NOT tolerate ANY dr brenner apologist post. N O. that man kidnapped these kids, killed/almost killed their parents BEFORE the el incident we see beginning of s4. that man needs to eat dirt.

Season 6 is my second favorite season after season 2 🙈🙈 also s6 newbies > s4 newbies (EXCEPT jarley)

i can see why you love s6, it’s like the best season for brittana. tbh i feel like s6 is super overheated, like it’s not as bad as most people say it is

but s6 newbies > s4 newbies is an interesting choice 😳 (i wish we got more screen time for them tho. they got like 3 or 4 plot episodes the whole season 🤨). and yes jarley supremacy 💆‍♀️

Currently craving: not really craving anything rn tbh,,, tho i did have a prophetic dream about a salad dressing my dad used to make so on a deeply personal level i may be craving that

AHAHAAHAH well both works tbh I am a true believer in manga supremacy no matter what show we’re talking about😂tbh I think the animation studio did the best they could but the fails are just hilarious. I’m not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but I actually did really like the animation style for s4 up until the last episode but since they outsourced it I guess it’s like a last resort I suppose🤔

YESSS I was freaking out when I saw those extra panels!! especially the ones in the last chapter 😭 and yeah tbh it's been a while since I've rewatched s1-3 but I remember being really impressed with the animation and like s4 has had it's moments where like some shots are really great but there have def also been parts that have been rough lmao though I never know if I think that b/c I'm giffing s4 as it airs and I'm just paying more attention to that or if it's actually gotten worse lol (1/3)

I'm hoping b/c nekoma is one of the main rival teams and we know them so well by this point that they'll come through for us on that one but I guess we'll have to wait and see lmao and YES FINAL BOSS OIKAWA I legit screamed when I read that part I was joking before the chapter got released like "here's how oikawa can still win" but then furudate came through for us 😭 and yes I already liked akaashi by that match but when he like broke down and screamed I was like oh yeah. we LOVE this kid (2/3)

no I haven't read the kny manga! via tumblr I sorta know various random spoilers b/c I have no sense of self preservation when it comes to that so like. I vaguely know some things?? that'll happen but mostly going in blind! ready to be crushed! and lmao that really is the mood with the chimera ant arc it's so good but also so heartbreaking. have you fully caught up with the manga? I tried at one point but I feel like it gets SO convoluted after that I ran out of steam and gave up 😂 (3/3) ❤️🎅

s1-3 were so goooood like really! the animation was x10 better hands down. s4 just feels so lazy to me plus they’re taking out a lot of the commentary from other people like that volleyball couple, seijoh and goshiki/tendou which i guess doesn’t matter but it’s just really interesting to see what other people have to say about the match. and it’s definitely rough!! that’s why i haven’t really had the urge to edit/gif the episodes as they air. maybe i’ll want to when the whole season airs and there’s more to work with!

pleaseeeeeeeeeeee production ig come through for the nekoma match lol!! i’m not gonna hold my breath tho that way i’m not super disappointed when it’s ass 😭 cuz even with the ovas they completely glossed over a lot of stuff and it felt super rushed like nohebi was waaaay more shitty and slimy in the manga and they didn’t really portray that. but i guess they’re ovas and there’s only so much they can show 😔 yesss final boss oikawa!! when he finally showed up my seijoh supremacy was SCREAMMMINGGG!! 🥰🥰

ahhhhhh you should definitely read the manga but i mean the anime is being very true to it and the animation is incredible so you could definitely just watch it! i hate waiting tho that’s why i’ll always read the manga first lol. but yes get ready for heartbreak!! i’m definitely gonna sob hardcore i already know it! i kinda want to rewatch chimera ant arc but then it’s like why do i want to hurt myself again 😂 and no i’m not caught up with the manga. i want to start it where the anime left off but there’s so many other series and it’s not like it’s gonna get updated anytime soon lmao!! forever gonna be hiatus x hiatus!
